This Week (x2) in Tomarrymort (25 October – 7 November 2024)

Hello again! We have two multi-chaptered fics finishing this week, highlighted below, as well as a bunch of delicious one-shots and chapter updates as always.

Completed Fic:

Sits the wind in that quarter by @mosiva (M, 61k, complete) “After something of a long absence, Lord Riddle, the Earl of Gaunt, had returned to London.” This is a really cool Regency and Omegaverse AU (how cool is that to see that combined??) that features a lot of courting, gossip and intrigue, social climbing, and Alpha Tom Riddle along with Beta Harry Potter. Broken Tomarrymort Telephone: Collected Stories by @exquisite-tomarrymort-telephone (E, 109k, complete) A Tomarrymort version of the Broken Telephone game — passing a whispered word or phrase around a circle, with it often evolving into something quite different as it goes from person to person. “In our version, the starting person received a secret prompt and wrote a fic based on it. They then created a prompt for the next person by summing up what they had written in a single sentence -- with the caveat that their prompt couldn't use the same words as the prompt they were given. This continued through twenty-six (26!) different authors and artists, each adding their own flair and creativity to the exercise. Which brings us to now! We're wrapping up the creation part, so it's time to start sharing it with the world. We hope you enjoy what we've created -- we certainly enjoyed making it.”

In chapter two, the eggs hatch.” Time Stumbler by @wintumnly (T, 96k, WIP) “One part of my slowburn Harry-raises-Tom series. It ends in Tomarry, but everything building up to that point is unhinged humor, not-good-at-feelings fluff, and angsty plot surrounding Harry and Tom's chaotic and ever growing affections for one another. Update 23 explores Unconditional Love, and there will be familial love, friendship love, flirtatious love, obsessive love and others in future parts.”

It jolts him out of the moment, and he turns to look at the man standing next to him. His boyfriend.

Arcadie: Cold Lands - Progress Update - October 2024

I've finally been able to seriously get back into writing last month.

I've just finished editing and coding Cyril's first "romantic" chapter. It was kind of tricky to write, because it had to accomplish several things: reestablish Cyril and MC's relationship, recap a few decisions from Arcadie: Second-Born, and reintroduce Cyril themself (in case the reader/player hasn't read ASB beforehand, or forgotten about it; since Cold Lands won't come out before at least 2025, I can't expect you to remember every single detail of it)

I've had to change plans about how I initially wanted routes to go. I initially envisioned them as being completely separate: you'd select which route you'd want to play right after the prologue (either Cyril, Will or Stan), but that posed a couple of issues, mainly: what if you don't want to play through a romantic route?

So now the story will differ depending on whether you're on a romantic path or not; some events will be exclusive to romance, but I think it will make for a more cohesive whole (can't say much more without delving into spoilers).

Well, that was a wall of text! Here's a sneak peak below the cut to make up for it (RO is male for screenshot's sake, three guesses as to who it is 😉)

Hey Y’All! Today, I present to you a small art/writing challenge to do for the autumn season!

What is the “Happy Fall, Y’All” Event?:

The “Happy Fall, Y’all” Tumblr challenge is a nine week long event where Sonic artists and writers unite and share their works all throughout the autumn season. Starting in October, artists and writers will be given the chance to participate in a friendly event to display their skills and love for the fall season. Each week, participants will be given an autumn-based theme and encouraged to create works of art until the last week in November. Participants will be given the chance to display their love for the season, as well as the company of other Sonic fans. Beginning and advanced artists and writers are always welcomed!

Rules/Guidelines:

All nine weekly themes will be made available on August 25st, 2024. The official launch date to present work for the week is October 1st.

Prompts for each week will be highlighted/recapped on a sunday at 9am EDT. Each prompt will have a weekly window for artists/writers to create their work and present them on Tumblr.

Each prompt will be given a small index of what each participant will be doing for the week. Index descriptions are small notes to inspire the participants for their work. These are not a set of rules.

Artists and writers can create more than one piece for the weekly theme, just make sure that the title is present to see.

Do not feel pressured to do it every week. Remember, this is a fun challenge to strengthen our skills and enjoy each other’s company. Move at your own pace and present when you’re ready. The point of a weekly theme is to give you breathing space while making your works of art. (I’ll be doodling these prompts with you 🤗)

Keep works Safe for Web (SFW).

No tracing of others’ artwork, plagiarizing, or AI is allowed. This is strongly discouraged and frowned upon.
