I'm definitely biased about Selena being Katie McGrath 😆 I haven't thought about casting, even just for fun. I mean, the Lady Morgana:

... And I honestly need to get back to reading Murtagh. I haven't touched that book since just before Thanksgiving 😅

It’s been a long time since I read the Inheritance Cycle (halfway through Murtagh right now) and I know we’re told a few times Murtagh looks like his father. But I don’t remember if we’re told who Eragon looks like, like if he actually looks more like a young Brom vs Selena (although I’m sure he has some resemblance to her).

But I lowkey love the idea of Murtagh actually looking more like his mom than people - or even he himself - thinks. I know the book describes Murtagh when we first meet him with “dark eyes,” but it seems like there’s always a debate between if he has brown or grey eyes. I would love someone like Katie McGrath as a face cast for Selena and a side by side showing that while Murtagh does resemble his dad, he actually looks a lot like his mom.

Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.

If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.

Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.

Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.

Snake Eyes x gn!Reader: Gear

Word Count: 880 Warnings/Notes: established relationship, mentions of tactical gear and weapons, and hugging. Summary: While the Reader is doing paperwork, Snake Eyes pays them a visit before his next mission.

  Paperwork. It was by no means glamorous or exciting, but that came as no surprise. The previous mission you had gone on was at least exciting in a sense that there was hardly a moment for you to pause. The sole reason for your current exhaustion and pile of paperwork.   The door to your private quarters was locked, and so came a casual knock upon it. The familiar and simple rhythm piqued your interest. Dropping your pen, you quickly strode to the door. As you swung it wide open, you smiled. You were met with the sight of a clean black visored helmet.

  “Hey, Snake.”   With a small wave, that you found utterly adorable in that moment, he gestured behind you.   As you stepped aside to let him i, you eyed his attire and frowned. “You’re going out on a mission, aren’t you?” You asked, closing the door.   He turned to regard you with a nod.

  Decked out in his usual black attire, Snake Eyes stood motionless and waiting as you stared at him.   Two vests wrapped his torso. One, tactical with many pouches on the front, and shells of ammunition on either side of his waist. The belt around his hips held impossibly more pouches and a sheathed tactical knife. It was a wonder that his pants were not falling from the weight. Though it might have helped him by having a thigh pouch and a mirroring pistol holster on the other.

  Glancing back up to his eye-line, you shrugged. “And how am I supposed to hug you when you’re wearing all of that tactical gear?”   Very carefully, he signed.   “Snake,” you laughed, “the only places on you without some sort of weapon is your neck, shoulders, and”— Dropping your words, you let silence fill the space between you. No words or signing of hands. Just humored silence.

  Through pursed lips, you changed the subject. “So…this mission seems like a heavy one—or you’re just going in prepared.”   We won’t get more intel until we can get a closer look, he signed.   Your upper lip curled. “One of those, huh?”   Snake Eyes nodded and stepped over to be in front of you. Even in the overall quiet of the room, his footsteps were nearly impossible to hear.   “Well, there’s no such thing as overly prepared in my book.”   You should write a book. I would gladly read it. Taking up your hands in his, Snake’s gloved thumbs gently rubbed over your skin.

  You sighed from his actions. It was only a matter of time before he had to leave. You were sure of it. But, you had to know just how much. “You have to leave soon, don’t you?”   He nodded.   Humming thoughtfully, you tried to be quick about it. “I fully expect you back here afterward. Debriefing included.”   Leaning toward you, Snake Eyes nuzzled the side of his helmet to your cheek.   The gesture brought a pleasant warmth to your chest, but another thought squandered it. “Unless I end up going on a mission.” Your shoulders slumped.   Bringing your hands up to his neck, his hands settled at your waist. It was easy enough for him, you weren’t the one wearing layers of gear.   A pout took over your lips for a moment. “You’re getting cutesy. You must be leaving sooner than I thought,” you said in realization.

  Snake’s hands slowly maneuvered over your sides and back. He was almost too gentle. At times, it was what you both needed. And now, it seemed like he just needed to know that you were truly there.   Your fingers combed over his rib knit sweater. It was a shame to be taking such a soft fabric out into the field. Not that you wanted him uncomfortable.   As you wrapped your arms over his shoulders, something hard pinched your skin when you inched closer to him. “Ow?” You peered down between you. “You really couldn’t unclip those stun grenades first?”   With a single hand, he reached down and pushed them aside.   “Thank you,” you said, smiling when he embraced you as close as he safely could. “Now you be careful, all right? Not that I necessarily have to remind you of all people.”   Craning his head back to look at you, he paused.   “But still,” you kissed where you were positive his mouth would be. “Return in one ninja perfect piece and then maybe we can have a movie night or something.”   With a firm nod, he hugged you one last time.   “I’ll miss you,” you whispered. It took all of your willpower to release your hold on him as he stepped back to get one long look at you.

  With one hefty breath, Snake Eyes finally turned to leave. You watched quietly. The katana sheathed to his back made the reality of the situation somehow all the more real. If that were even possible.   Just as his hand reached for the doorknob, you felt a clench in your chest.   “Snake?” You asked, and he turned to you again. Forcing a smile, you glanced down at the bracer on his left forearm. “Go get ‘em, Assassin’s Creed.”   Giving a thumbs up, he revealed the hidden blade within his gear.   “That’s my ninja,” you smiled fondly at his retreating form.
