Yes, we can separate the art from the artist.
And in this case, the art was about a wealthy man having sex with his child's nanny which the child witnessed. And then also there was that story he wrote about a wealthy author who kept the goddess Calliope prisoner and repeatedly raped her to gain inspiration, all while publicly calling himself a feminist, and kept her locked away for decades knowing that each time he raped her he would become more successful and win awards for his writing. And the artist? Well, he was a man who assaulted his children's nannies, sometimes IN THE BED WITH HIS CHILD, subjecting the child to witness adults having sex (which is a form of CSA), and who kept his repeated rapes hidden while he pretended to be a feminist, became more and more successful, and won awards for his writing.
But I'm really sorry your third season of Good Omens got cancelled. That must be so terrible for you.
#genuinely and truly from the bottom of my heart fuck every single person who defended this man#i have a hatred for him and for all of his defenders that burns hotter than anything in the deepest circles of hell#there are no words for the disgust that I have for those people#the survivors are such brave women they are heroes for coming forwards with this#they are brave and they are strong and this is about them#not about your fictional characters#good omens#Neil gaiman#tw sa#btw the stories if you're curious are the ocean at the end of the lane and the sandman

Take me where the forest meets the ocean
In her mind, she could almost see him. A figure in the shadows, watching her with quiet, steady eyes. There was something about him that felt safe, yet dangerous all at once. Not the kind of danger that would hurt her, but the kind that came from carrying his own pain, his own battles. His presence felt like a warm fire on a cold night—comforting, but with a power she couldn’t ignore.
She imagined the way he’d hold her, not to keep her trapped but to remind her she wasn’t alone. He wouldn’t need grand words or promises; his actions would speak for him. A warm hand on hers, a hug that lasted just long enough to chase the shadows away. Even in silence, she would feel it: “I’m here. I see you.”
But she couldn’t ignore the darkness in him, either. It wasn’t cruel or selfish—it was the kind of darkness that came from surviving hard things, the same kind she carried in herself. It scared her a little, but it also made her feel less alone.

ATOL Update!
Finally finished editing some scenes and codex entries (as well as a sneak peek into Chapter 3)! It isn’t much though, and I’m sorry about that-
Anyways, ATOL will now be in a semi-hiatus state, which basically means it may not always be guaranteed to release every summer. I will still work on it in the background, but just not as much as I used to. IRL stuff is getting too much for me, I swear…
I hope you all enjoy the update. If you have decided that now is the time to leave, I completely understand. I find it hard, personally, to be someone who sticks to a project until the very end. This is disappointing for some, I know, but I hope that you do try to stay for Swapped as well as my other planned projects.
Until then!
-Aurie

The Darkling is too relatable.
Yes, my boy, I know what it is like to be done with life, to feel like you're the only one with common sense, to be surrounded by idiots, to warn them of danger, to try putting in them some reason and logic only to fail because Jesus themselves can't enlighten such dumb heads.
He's me. I'm the Darkling.
#one of the most relatable characters in the fictional genre but antis are not ready for this discussion#me and him understand each other on an ocean deep level#the darkling#aleksander morozova#pro darkling#shadow and bone#grishaverse#grishaverse trilogy

Me explaining in terms of strictly how I read canon I think Nahida not severely punishing the Sages is just meant to convey that Nahida, even when wronged, is not a very vengeful or harsh person and makes the choice to be kind instead, but in my mind I have this idea of a Nahida interpretation which elaborates on that where her self punishing tendencies extend to her being someone who internally downplays her own experiences constantly, and as a result has a hard time feeling she’s allowed or justified in placing a lot of blame on the Sages for what they did to her So while she is following her own philosophies regarding teaching lessons/wisdom/etc in how to handle the Sages and genuinely doesn’t want to be really angry or punishing because of who she is as a person, her decision is also influenced by the fact she’s basically blocked herself out of grappling with how to handle people who hurt her by blaming herself for said hurt instead as a coping mechanism. And like this is all just me being insane about Nahida Trauma and not something explicitly implied in canon but also I really do think this isn’t a far stretch from her canon characterization especially when my vision isn’t to conclude that Nahida needs to be angry and vengeful but she should extend the kindness she shows others to herself and also every day I get tormented thinking about she was the mental equivalent of an average human child when the Sages found her and how they basically specifically discarded her for being a child and the idea of how Nahida would pick up on + internalize that and eventually need time to unlearn it
#nahida#genshin#fern.txt#genshin tangents#fictional child abuse cw#anyways is anyone else here normal#see I think a sentiment most ppl get from nahdia’s character is correctly that she is kind despite being treated so poorly#but I want to explore her grappling with Why she does that bc she is genuinely kind#and I don’t think she’s struggling with moving on from things#but based off things she says word for word I feel it’s established nahida is very distressed by not being able to rationalize or#understand things that upset her#this is clear in both her SQs & her voicelines even down to her not liking seafood bc the unknown of the ocean#intimidates her. so I’d imagine she’s someone who responds to being mistreated by concluding#there must be a reason for it. and I actually have dialogue that backs me up here#bc when we first learn the sages have imprisoned nahida nahida herself basically says it’s fine bc her existence has#little meaning and she’s not good enough to be an archon. even as paimon is remarking how awful#the sages are for it and prompting nahida on if she’s upset w them#it’s not that Nahida isn’t insightful enough to acknowledge something as mistreatment#but rather she finds more comfort and a sense of control in having explanations for things#heck the reason she gives up her gnosis to Dottore is states in her char stories to be bc#she doesn’t want the lack of control that comes from a lack of information#nahida leaning on knowledge for a sense of control makes me esp sad when I think abt how#she does not have autonomy or agency for a majority of her life bc of her imprisonment n had fo rely on her#mind n ability to learn n gain knowledge#anyways to reiterate ks anyone else normal

It's a little funny because every fictional story I've ever seen about the deep ocean has been like the horrors..the unknown...the darkness of the inexplicable waters ...and then every real life reactions/stories about deep ocean has been like *excited chanting* WHALE FALL WHALE FALL WHALE FALL!!
#call me a freak but i dont think deep ocean scary in real life. i like creachurs :3#its terrifying in fiction but it seems cool as hell in reality
