Halloween Movie 7 “Night of the Demon”

Seventh in my Halloween Movie List is ''Night of the Demon".

Released in 1957, 'Night of the Demon.," or ''Curse of the Demon'' in the US, tells the story of Dr. John Holden who travels to England to expose Dr. Julian Karswell and his Santaic Cult as frauds. However, Strange events start to plague Holden leading up Karswell placing a curse on him, revealing he will die in three days. It becomes a race for Holden and the niece of another of Karswell's victums, Joanna to find a way to reverse the curse before Holden becomes the curse's next victum.

Another great supernatural thriller to watch at Halloween. We now from the beging that the supernatrual threat is real but it's not over used in the fill. A lot of the horror is again what we doin't see and how the characters react to them. Shadows and angels are used to great effect to help add a sense of errieness ot scenes.

The demon is a truly horrify sight. Originaly the plan was not to show the demon at all but Dana Andrews who played John Holden later said that the demon had been constucted by the British team unbeknownst to the rest of the crew. This was a dispainment according to Holden because the movie was never meant to actualy prove that the demon and supernatural forces were reall. It was meant to be up the audieance to make that determaination.
