my bg3 cynfic is going to stay, but god i was thinking on the metro today how funny it would be to have faraj in her place instead (context: this is an isekai with my ocs, Cynthia and Faraj are siblings).

assorted bg3 spoilers below the cut :)

astarion hates faraj, thinks he's no fun, secretly disappointed that faraj is straight, but faraj will let him drink blood whenever (from the neck strictly because of the carotid, although he did float the idea of the femoral atery) so he stays. faraj likes astarion because he reminds him of cynthia lol

gale and faraj are the same brand of annoying academic. pure autism to autism communication. gale unfortunately has to deal with the fact that faraj hates Mystra immediately and faraj also won't let him kill himself/become god. faraj thinks he's a little too pretentious which like, pot meet kettle

halsin puts the moves on faraj and faraj has to break the heterosexual news. they get along well. i think they have the same level of like, boring old man energy that only comes about after several hundred years of existence. these youngins need therapy or whatever

jaheira and faraj immediately get along. they are both old and tired. out of everyone i think jaheira is the one he would pursue if he had to pick someone (i see him as not romancing anyone tho). they swap stories pretty often, although she suspects he embellishes things (he does not)

karlach finds him fun because he plays the straightman to all her bits. he says things that are romantic ("I would fight all of Avernus for you") but intends it more in a justice-bringing way. he keeps telling her that she should meet his sister

lae'zel immediately decides to hate him but slowly comes around to his lowkey "no gods no masters" philosophy. faraj asks her a lot of aggravating philosophical questions which she thinks about at night instead of sleeping. she has never wanted to fuck a man less in her entire life.

shadowheart likes his practicality at first, and later comes to appreciate the same thing lae'zel does about him and his philosophy. their initial friendship is probably sparked by him not immediately lambasting Shar. he struggles to not get into arguments with her about it tho, because unlike lae'zel and Vlaakith, Shar is like actively injuring shadowheart and he really doesn't like that

wyll and faraj initially get along well, but i think their friendship gets complex once mizora comes into the picture because faraj is getting wayyyy too many flashbacks of his time w his mother. he's very much against mizora and ulder determining the course of wyll's life. kind of sees himself in wyll. would litigate mizora's contract

faraj would definitely not get along with minthara, but i think she's just so cartoonishly evil so much of the time that he would totally have a few drinks and argue about morality with her (ends w minthara stabbing him)

isobel - "have you considered patricide?"

aylin - nothing but respect for her. she probably joins karlach in trying to get him to get extremely wasted

ketheric - genuinely tries to reason with him. would probably be more likely than cyn to sway him away from myrkul

orin - at first, mildly annoyed by her. she impersonates whoever and he immediately moves her to the top of his shit list

gortash - beyond exasperated with gortash's 4d chess bullshit. outsmarts him somehow, comforts karlach as best he can after she kills gortash

minsc - makes him a stim toy (based off of one angel has). spoils boo

the emperor - cautious at first. does not accept any deals from it and feels quite vindicated

Other User Added Ships

We’ve discussed the main ships, consisting of canon characters only. Now I’d like to discuss the following:

self-ships;

ships with OCs;

ships with characters from other fandoms;

crack ships;

ships I couldn’t classify.

1. Self-ships

These are the ships where a person ships themselves with a character. I didn’t receive a lot of these, which is surprising, because I’ve seen quite a few people self-ship online.

It is a shame, because self-ships are great and they are a really neat indicator of how desirable some characters are. Like, sure, you can have a character that is loved by the fandom, like, say, Amaya. Many people love Amaya for different reasons, but some people actually feel sexually or emotionally attracted to her. Of course, not everybody who feels attracted to a character ships themselves with that character, but quite a few people do.

It’s possible that many people are embarrassed to admit it even in an anonymous poll.

Here’s a pie chart of all the self-ships I’ve received:

The number inside each slice represents the number of people who voted for a given ship.

With such a tiny sample, the margin of error is huge! It’s still fun to see that Aaravos is the most desired character, which coincides with my observations from simply browsing the internet.

2. Ships with OCs

Okay, I’ve seen a lot of awesome TDP OCs shipped with various canon characters (the majority - with Aaravos), but I only got three people adding anything OC related:

People put lots of effort into their OCs, but I feel like they don’t get enough appreciation. Someone should organize an event for TDP OCs (whether it’s romantic OCs, fanchildren, or OCs needed for the plot of someone’s story). It’ll take me some time before I’m done with the shipping poll, so I’d be really happy if someone else took this task upon them :”D

3. Ships with characters from other fandoms

I got only one - Sormiko (Soren x Kimiko Tohomiko from Shaolin Showdown)

Aaravos/Lotor people, where have you gone??? :o

4. Crack Ships

A crack ship is generally a ship that is somehow unusual. It can be something utterly bizarre, funny or sometimes - disturbing.

The first two are obvious - cute boys and their favorite dessert.

The third one is especially funny if you imagine the huge Berto from Callum’s dream!

The last one is what I’d call bizarre. I don’t actually know if it’s meant as a crack ship or a serious ship. In case it was supposed to be serious - I would like to apologize to the shipper! I think all ships are valid regardless of how I personally feel about them!

5. Ships I couldn’t classify

Kazi (the translator elf x ________) (this is the form I received it in)

The first one’s very clear, although I’m not sure if the person meant literally everyone, like, including Bait, Pip and Berto.

The second one, I assume, is supposed to show that the person headcanons Kazi to be aro/ace? Is that correct, OP? Send me an anonymous ask and tell me, if you see this post!

so in the disheveled land of ateris there are (kinda obviously) a species of aliens called aterians. i never post abt my ocs (or tdloa in general sorry) so for anyone wondering if aterians are like a closed toy house type species......... No

i don't even have a toy house account lol. basically Just In Case anyone wanted to make an aterian oc (which i doubt) it's only open to friends and mutuals. i didn't make ateris or aterians for any closed species type purposes, i don't even go into those communities, i just like creating alien worlds n stuff.

Ateris' redesign is finally finished!! This is his main outfit, though he has a few others at different times in the story. This is one he gets during his stay in Evenere, because his previous clothes were old and stinky >:0 It took much, much longer than anticipated to finish this because of indecisiveness among other issues. But I'm so happy it's done ahhhhh ;-;
