Pixelized version of this sketch by @wasyago Please go see the original sketch and their other art, it's very cool!
It uses pxls.space limited color pallet. Pxls community calls this type of pixelization "defiddlig"
Pxls.space is a r/place clone. I have looked at many similar sites, but pxls seems to be the most organized and moderated one.

Please buy my prints 🥺

I have three jobs that are all unstable. I live in complete poverty as a sole provider to a family of three in the global south. I am on maintenance medicine for hypocalcemia, type II diabetes and hypothyroidism for the rest of my life. My mother is a full time wheelchair user with very low movement, my father is managing a chronic kidney disease, and my sister is autistic with a low frustration threshold. I am their sole provider, and now dealing with nerve damage post surgery- a quarter of my face, and nearly my entire neck has not healed properly- its numb and painful and makes it hard to work for me as it limits my own movement somewhat. If you've ever taken joy from my art or little posts, I would love your help. I am grateful for this second chance at life, I would like to stay healthy and keep living. Thank you so much!

More than 400 exclusive / early access drawings on my patreon!
If you would like for me to bypass the immense fees on inprnt and patreon and would just like to send me a direct tip, It would mean the whole entire world to me!!

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.
Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:
If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.
Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

would you happen to know anything about chinese armor?
Hi, thanks for the question!
I don’t really know anything about Chinese armor ^^;, but I can offer a few resources to learn more:
- My armor tag has all my content related to Chinese armor, so please check it out if you haven’t already.
- @hanfu-asks and @fouryearsofshades provided some resources on Chinese armor in this post.
- The Baidu Encyclopedia article on armor (Kai Jia/铠甲) has breakdowns on the armor of each time period in Chinese history, along with illustrations. I highly recommend it! It’s in Chinese, but you can use Google Translate if needed :P.
- There’s a really good book called “Illustrated Ancient Chinese Armour/画说中国历代甲胄”, which you can find on Amazon here. There are some scans from the book here. I also found this nifty illustrated timeline of Chinese armor (from the same book):
Qin dynasty (first row) & Han dynasty (second row):

Sui dynasty/Tang dynasty (first row) & Song dynasty (second row):

Yuan dynasty (first row) & Qing dynasty (second row):

Note that the timeline is incomplete (missing Ming dynasty for example). You can view the image as a whole here. If any followers know of additional resources on Chinese armor, please do share!
Hope this helps!

one of my favorite things about my job that i can say to people that sounds utterly ridiculous but is technically 100% true is that one of our sea turtles keeps trying to get me to commit a felony on her behalf and gets SUPER cranky when i won’t do it

I know I say that I'm kinda nuts for doing the amount of visual research I do, but at the same time: Specificity is SO much more compelling and real feeling, and imo not getting references often makes things look more amateur.
Eg. drawing a sofa- my mental image of a sofa is something like this:
Like. Its a sofa. It works. But it's not very convincing, the pillows are kinda wrong at the back, and it's not really giving any information about the owner. Even if you want a basic sofa... What kind of basic.
comfy and cheap?
kinda rigid?
inherited? ------
who does this comfy cheap ikea sofa belong to anyway?
guy living alone?
teenage girl?
Grandma?
Anyway I'll get off my soapbox but specificity is sexy and fun and it can do your storytelling for you!
