Luna: Sweet

Kat: Confident

How does your OC react to and handle stress?

Luna: Listens to music, throws herself into making teaching plans for her music class. She's a little bit of a workaholic lol. She's decent at handling it, being an adult, but sometimes it can get overwhelming.

Kat: Tbh depends on what part of her character arc lol. At the beginning, she is a chronic smoker and underage drinker. The only healthy thing she would do is read poetry or books. At the end of it, she listens to music, thinks things through--the only thing that sticks is reading poetry/books. She's not great at handling it at first and often gets anxiety, but gets better over time.

What is your OC’s favorite food?

Luna: She's more of a breakfast gal, loves crepes the most. Especially loaded crepes, but she also loves the classic cinnamon and sugar. She also enjoys seafood a lot!

Kat: Stew, mainly goulash. Also has a huge sweet tooth and dislikes bitter/dry stuff.

Favorite place? Do they go there often?

Luna: A cafe in the heart of Chicago. She goes there very often to make teaching plans and draw.

Kat: Memorial Park in Calumet City, and yes, she goes there often to (illegally) street perform and hang out with the mothers there. She also loves going to the library and bookstores, things she less often goes to for... reasons.

What do they wish they knew more about?

Luna: Her family is second generation immigrants from Switzerland and France, but because her grandparents were so Americanized it's hard to know a lot about the culture.

Kat: Beyond learning the guitar, she wants to know more about who her parents were and how they lived. She has some puzzle pieces, but not all of them...

Where did their name come from? Does it have meaning?

Luna: For Luna, in universe her name is due to her deceased father, who was a literature professor and studier of mythologies. He loved the olden works of Virgil, and found the name Luna in his work Georgics. He and Luna's mom loved this name a lot and gave it to her. There's also a secret reason, but that'll be revealed hehe. For irl, I thought it'd be neat for her to have a fantasical name like Elwood does. Her last name comes from the jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald :)

Kat: In universe, I'm keeping it just a bit of a mystery as to how Kat's name was workshopped as it'll be revealed later. However, I can say her mother, Gretchen, really loved Anna Karenina. However, she didn't want her name to be a full on reference to the book. Katerina was born! This isn't a spoiler cause it's subtly revealed in the first chapter lol, but her middle name, Anita, is from Anita O'Day. Irl, tbh I really liked how Katerina sounded, plus I love characters that have long fancy names but prefer nicknames (thus, Kat). Plus, I wanted the name to have Kat in it somewhere so she could eventually get the nickname "Kitty" (no bearing on my own nickname, I'm not projecting THAT hard) as many blues and jazz singers get that nickname. Her and by extension Gretchen's last name is from the singer Betty Carter :)

So, here's a one-shot featuring my stronk lady oc, Anna Fitzgerald!

Anna sat quietly at the bar, nursing a glass of scotch as around her, the sounds of merriment and revelry rang out around her.  The jukebox was blasting a KISS song as pool balls clicked together on the table in the corner.  A few different groups were laughing and talking about this or that.

Behind the bar, Anna's friend Mason continuously shuttled back and forth, serving the patrons of this humble bar, whether they needed a drink or a friend.  He was good at his job, too.  He rarely had an angry 'patient' as he sometimes referred to them as, and ended up making off like a bandit in tips.

The bar suddenly became deathly quiet when the jukebox was unplugged.  Several people made noises of complaint and turned to see who dared interrupt their night.  Anna turned as well, and cursed silently.  There stood Wade Klatt, stinking of booze and bad temper.  He clutched a beer bottle in one hand, and the jukebox's power cord in the other.

"Hey!" he slurred, throwing down the cord, then his bottle.  "Gimme a fuggin' drink!" Wade peered around at everyone, lurching threateningly toward Al Collins, a friendly bearded truck driver who had just gotten back from an East Coast run.  "The fuck you lookin' at? Think yer a tough guy? Huh?!"

Making similar moves toward other patrons, he wobbled to the bar, at the opposite end from Anna.  He slammed his hand down.  "Hey! Your ears fuggin' painted on or what? I said gimme a drink!"

Mason shook his head.  "No way, Klatt.  You've already had plenty. Get out and go home, or the cops get called."

Wade grabbed an abandoned glass and lobbed it in Mason's direction, missing by several feet, with an unsavory slur chasing it.  "I'll say when I've had enough!"

Time froze. The gauntlet had been thrown down.  It was no real secret that Mason was transgender, and had even been re-baptized up at the church.  Most of the town had shown up, except for the Klatts, strangely.  Now, it was glaringly obvious.

A glass was set down forcefully on the bar, sounding like a gunshot.  "Wade Klatt, if you have a problem with the LGBTQ community, you have a problem with me," Anna said sternly, sitting up a little straighter.

Wade turned in her direction.  "Stay out of this, sugar tits. You don't scare me anyway," he snorted.

In one quick move, Anna kicked her stool back and stood up, turned toward Wade.  "I can make you scared, if you want me to," she calmly stated, unzipping her hoodie and revealing her black t-shirt.  The nickname 'Big Fitz' was printed in white across the chest of the shirt, stretched taut over Anna's amazonian build.  She tossed the hoodie to a girl at a nearby table.  "Keep it safe for me, huh?" she winked, giving the girl a little playful bump on the arm.  The girl gave a shaky giggle and nodded, blushing hard.

Anna turned back to Wade.  "Outside," she sternly ordered and strode toward him, her logger boots heavy against the wood floor.  In that moment, she was not Anna Fitzgerald, but Wonder Woman, confidently crossing No Man's Land.

She followed Wade outside into the parking lot, and the door swung shut behind them, leaving the bar quiet as a morgue.

Everyone in the bar held their collective breath as the muffled sounds of a scrap reached them.  Anna was calmly taunting Wade, egging him on, making him angrier.

"You're so trashy, instead of an organ donor sticker on your license, you have a hazmat decal."

A snarl and "Shut yet damn mouth!"

"Buddy, how's it feel that Mason's a better man than you, and don't lie to me!"

Another snarl, then a few grunts, and the sound of a body hitting the ground.

Everyone heard Anna grunt, as though she was lifting something heavy, then the sound of something being thrown in the dumpster with a "Whoopsy-daisy!"

Silence, then the door opened.  Anna calmly walked back inside, dusting herself off.  The bar patrons began to chatter as Anna approached the bar.  "Mace, wanna grab me the phone?" 

She dialed and held the receiver to her ear before turning to the crowd.  "Hey! Phone call, keep it down!"  The whole place went quiet, and Anna looked around with a teasing grin.  "Ya buncha savages," she chuckled.

"Hey Nora, how's it going?  That slow, huh?  Well, if Andy's looking for something to do, Wade Klatt came by... Yeah, drunk and wanting to fight.  He bad-mouthed Mason, called him… Well, I'm not gonna even say it to a good woman like yourself.  But I took him outside and settled things… No, I didn't put him back in his truck this time.  He's in the dumpster, with the rest of the trash.  Yeah, Andy knows where to find me if he has questions.  Okay.  Thanks Nora, good night."

The receiver set back in its cradle, Anna got up and walked back toward her seat as the bar began to come alive again.  She stopped to grab her jacket, and thank the blushing girl that kept it safe.

She sighed as she righted her stool and sat down, ordering another scotch.  Smiling at Mason, she winked.  "Here's to another quiet night at The Pink Pony," she toasted.

how TALL is everybunny I need to know

Well, you’d think for the Aftons, since Amalie is only 5’2 and William is 6’7, her short stature and his freakish height would make most of their kids average height.

You’d be wrong.

Cassidy, shortest of the family, is 4’0 at age 8. (The average 7 year old is 4’1, and the average 8 year old is 4’3. Also he’s close to 9, which is 4’5 on average.) Elizabeth is 4’4, setting her a bit on the short side for a 10 year old, but nothing dramatic.

Michael, at age 21, is 6’5, 5’7 at 14 when his siblings died.

Susie is 4’3, Jeremy is 3’5, Gabriel is 3’11, though short for a 7 year old he probably would have shot up like a weed as he got older, Mitzi is almost 5’0, and Charlie, age 10, is 4’7.

At age 19, Charlie is 5’9. Up against the absolute freak of nature that is Michael Afton, she looks short, but among Jessica, Carlton, John and Marla, she’s the tallest.

The animatronics range from 7-9 feet tall. Real life CEC animatronics are usually 6 foot at most, but I like making the fnaf guys huge. I think oversized objects are gross so it definitely makes them more creepy to me. The biggest one is DJ Music Man at almost 30 feet long. The shortest is Baby at 7’6.

The Nightmares are like fifteen, sixteen feet tall. They don’t fit into the halls and rooms of the house at all. They’re bent down and cramped up against the ceiling trying to get through the house. (Again, I do not like oversized objects.)

Glitchtrap is about ten to eleven feet tall. Poor Vanny is only 5’7. Vanessa is 5’10, and Gregory is about 4’3.

As for other slightly less relevant characters:

Beatrice Fitch (“Bee”), the Chica bully, is 5’8. Noah Park, the Bonnie bully, is 5’5. Jeremy Fitzgerald, the Freddy bully, is 5’10 in 1983 and 6’1 in 1987.

Scott Leskowitz (Phone Guy) is 5’4, and Shadow Bonnie (Scott Leskowitz (Phone Guy)) is roughly 8’0.

Caleb Martz (an OC) is 5’8, also looks tiny compared to Michael.

Henry is 6’1, his ex wife Melissa is 5’4, and Sammy, as of age 10, is 4’6.

Amalie’s sister Nicole, the Afton kids’ aunt, is 5’0. She’s a reference to an oc character named Nicolette who served as an early version of Mrs. Afton. I never get the chance to talk about Nicolette anymore cuz I dunno what to do with her lmao

Pizzaplex employees Mark Cho, Raha Salib, Anna Kwento, and Nora Pacheco are 5’8, 5’1, 5’7 and 5’5 respectively. I am bringing them up because they are irrelevant to the plot but I like them. They’re funny.

Last Movie I saw: Re-watched “For Lovers Only” (with Stana Katic and Mark Polish) and re-imagined it with Supercorp. I now have 3 different Supercorp AU versions of this (including one in my Glee AU where Kara and Lena are actors filming this movie). I love the atmosphere of this film.

Queenie: I never had a backup for her tbh, so many suggestions were made but no one works other than Darya (which drives me crazy because I’d really like to switch to an actress)

Helena: much like Queenie, I really couldn’t find any other option that worked - or even any other option with blue hair

Elise: Elise was a choice between Lili Reinhart and Jenny Boyd!

Finley Rider: This was actually a suggestion by my darling @perfectlystiles!  I really had no idea where to start!  But if I absolutely had to change it, I’d go with Jenny Boyd!

Isabelle: Isabelle was always going to be Danielle but if I really had to use someone else then I would probably go with Halston Sage!

Myra: Myra was mostly a decision between Elle Fanning and Josefine Frida Petterson

Lyssa, Charity, Faith, Cheryl, Gloria, Hannah, Casseopia: for all of these ones, I made a list of faceclaims that I wanted to use for Descendants and sent them to a couple of friends!  I used some of those opinions and others I just stared at for a long time before deciding, but they were pretty much all between their faceclaims

Blair: I struggled with getting past “ooh archery” with wanting to use Madelaine Petsch (not even because of the red hair, since Blair is adopted, but because of the archery and because of a nickname for Arianne Martin being Merida), and then I was looking at Anna Popplewell too but Adelaide Kane just fit better!

Sonya: Sonya was 100% the result of months of wanting to use Grace Phipps for a Descendants oc, but I think that my second choice would be Ciara Bravo

Anissa: my second choice for Anissa was Bailee Madison!

Layla: Honestly Layla was always going to be Naomi because of how many times I’ve seen the first 30 minutes of the new Aladdin

What are you working on right now? I just finished up my list of songs for next week’s Musical Monday (Pendulum!  drum and bass, if you’re not familiar), and after this tag game I’m gonna be working on my piece for this week’s/today’s MM & a wip update for Between His Fingers (at the same time, two birds one stone haha).  

Talk to me about POV! What POV do you write in and why? Close third person because I just?? I really like it, I like how flexible it is.  I can go from describing a character’s appearance to the details of their surroundings to their deepest thoughts without being too jarring.

What’s the most memorable piece of feedback/comment you’ve gotten on your work? Ahh, the feedback that’s impacted me the most is @livingdeadwriteblr‘s which helped me come out of my writing shell!! I was superrrrr insecure about my writing not long ago and heckin’ lovely Randi helped me realize it’s not a waste of time, space, or effort!   Some other feedback that’s really stuck in my mind is comments on how vivid my writing feels and how every word I wrote felt necessary!

How do you back up your work? Also, DO IT NOW. I just straight up write on Google Docs!!  But honestly I should probably back up my work on some flashdrives or something idk- what do you guys recommend??

What was your first work? Ohhh it’s long gone now, but it was an entire novel focused on a magic industry of some sort??  I don’t think it had much . . . actual plot.  All I remember is that it ended with a giant explosion.  I wrote it when I was like 13-14 haha.
