Ava Vee, the lab-made daughter of all-American hero Homelander, has been America's darling since she was revealed to the public at five years old. From Pepsi ads to saving a bus full of children from falling over the Brooklyn Bridge, Ava is the image of perfect to all of America. That is until a series of missteps earn her the label of "A Weapon Of Mass Destruction," and she's sent to GodU in a desperate PR attempt at salvaging her tarnished image.

As a result of a few anons, this is a reminder for everyone what the oc-challenges blog is about.

A very nasty anon, along with being incredibly insensitive to a tragedy, has expressed frustrations with us for not "hosting" things properly (whatever that is supposed to mean) or about challenge submissions being "shitty". Another anon was sent to express their unease in participation due to such opinions.

This stuff is NOT okay. Everyone has the right to create what they want, regardless of whether someone else thinks it's "shitty" or their "skill" level. Oc-challenges was created to foster creativity and community, and it's supposed to be fun.

From now on, we normalize either blocking or dealing with our problems directly.

Introducing: Olivia Quick

Olivia Quick is beautiful, intelligent, and able to adapt to any environment you throw her in. That’s why she thrived at Oxford, among an upper class she’d only read about. Olivia’s first year as a Sociology undergraduate is going well, she’s top of her class and has a charming boy befriending her.

Felix Catton is lovely, utterly lovely, and it’s impossible not to love him, when he invites Olivia - his new girlfriend - and her twin brother Oliver to his family’s estate over the summer, he swears nothing could go wrong.

Olivia however, begins to notice her brother’s odd behaviour and releases that everything from the past year may not have been up to chance.

Let’s not do out with the old, but we could certainly do in with the new. For day six, introduce a brand new oc or story you hope to be your newest muse for 2024.

OC NEW YEAR'S CHALLENGE — Day Six: In With The New

Evie Young would never have moved to America if it wasn't for her most recent breakup. After all, back in London, she had seemed to have it all - a thriving radio talk show centered around giving advice on love, a (seemingly) loving boyfriend, and a wealthy past that allowed her to have a sense of fashion that regularly landed her mentions in the papers, she seemed to have it all - until it was revealed to her, through a gossip tabloid no less, that boyfriend had been caught just outside a nightclub with his tongue down another woman's throat.

Forced to endure a relatively public breakup and mocked by multiple forms of English media - after all, how good at giving relationship advice could she be if she couldn't even keep her own relationship together? - Evie makes the decision to leave London and her old life behind, accepting an offer to start a new show on love advice from a station in Seattle. Despite the scandal that follows her into this new life she's trying to build for herself, Evie's new show, Love on the Air, is a smashing hit among Seattle radio listeners - especially because, as an openly bisexual woman, Evie is the only radio personality in the nation providing love advice to queer and straight people alike.

Despite her reputation, both as a rich English socialite running from her troubles back home and a spurned lover, Evie is also able to quickly make friends among her new colleagues - especially with radio psychologist Dr. Frasier Crane, who enjoys the finer things in life just as much as she does, and Roz Doyle, whom Evie admires for her boldness and refusal to let anything bother her. Through this friendship with Frasier, Evie also becomes acquainted with his younger brother Niles... who makes the most endearing awkward jokes and smiles at Evie in a way she's never been smiled at before.

With everything that happened with her ex back in London, Evie is a bit reluctant to trust anyone who seems interested in her, despite telling the callers on her show every day to do the exact opposite. But perhaps with a little bit of time - and no insignificant amount of pushing from Roz and Frasier's very determined live-in healthcare worker - Evie may be able to both talk about love on the air and find it again outside of her radio booth.

In My ＿ Era

When I saw this prompt for Day Three of the OC New Year's Challenge, I did a little reflecting. Emphasis on "little" because it came to me very quickly:

ONE PIECE Era!

Really, I've created three new One Piece OCs within the last four months alone. It's really fitting, because Luna - the very same Luna I talked about in yesterday's entry - was my first ever proper OC - and also my first One Piece Era/hyperfixation, and I revamped her only recently, Inari joined her sometime during my earlier Tumblr days, upon my second One Piece Era/hyperfixation, and with the arrival of the live action, I was firmly hyperfixated once more and in my One Piece Era, and I haven't left it ever since. So, I present to you all five of my current One Piece OCs, listed from left to right by the time of their creation.

Aether S. Luna, the "guardian angel" of the Straw Hats. Her crystalline shields and large wings have saved the little band of misfits countless times. Having travelled the seas since she can remember, she eventually ends up won by the Foxy Pirates, becoming part of the stakes during their fight against the Straw Hats. Of course, the Straw Hats (mainly Sanji), try their hardest to get her on their crew.

Charlotte Inari, the Straw Hats' lookout and errand girl. The complicated workings of her devil fruits like to toss her around a little, but she's fiercely loyal to her friends. Oh, and she also just so happens to be the daughter of one of the four Emperors of the Sea. Oh well... Surely, that won't cause any trouble.

Akaito Coraline, also known simply as Cora, the Straw Hats' tailor. The only living descendant of a world-famous family of tailors and a childhood friend of Sanji, Cora always carries three things: Her sewing needle, pierced through her ear. A dream to revive her family's legacy, making sure people remember the truth instead of the myths. And a burden on her mind, one that only Sanji seems to know, and neither of them like to share. Also, a crush on both Sanji and Zoro, but she would never admit that, would she?

Felicity, nicknamed Lily, is half human, half fennec fox mink, and honors a great deal of her vulpine ancestry. From being fairly nocturnal to becoming hyperactive (it's the zoomies, according to Usopp), from frequent naps and sleepy phases to a happily wagging, fluffy tail... Though then again, some of her mood swings might also be blamed on her devil fruit, its powers turning her emotions into... something. You never know.

My newest plot bunny, for now simply known as the "Black Widow", who was inspired by my history professor's tangent on the similarities between Ancient Roman patronage and the mafia. She's a spider with an invisible net of connections, her "friends", which include pirates from the old era, warlords, even emperors if you'll believe some sources. The Black Widow generously "adopts" younger, inexperienced or generally weaker pirates, dubbing them her "children" and offering them her protection - in return for some services, of course. Because friendship is a give and take. Some people claim she's incapable of love, some people claim that she's all talk and no game - but fact is that nobody has succeeded in killing her just yet, and her influence on the powers of the world is undeniable. No matter what you need - money, protection, men, weapons, or even a devil fruit - she can get it for you, for the small, small price of your undying loyalty. Those who have broken this vow all found themselves swimming with the fishes one way or another.

OC NEW YEARS CHALLENGE 2023-2024. day four - december 29th. EVERYTHING NEW.

Introducing: Kendra

Kendra has a complicated history. First, she was marketed as Ken’s sister, then just a female, tomboy Ken. In the early 2000s, she was marketed as an interior designer and came with many Barbie Dreamhouses, but now, she is rarely purchased, and her biggest role was in ‘Life in the Dreamhouse’.

In Barbieland, Kendra is ‘Ken’, and she isn’t sure where she fits in. She’s not a Ken, but she’s not a Barbie, she’s both and neither. At least she owned her own dreamhouse…that was blue and stood out like a sore thumb in Barbieland. Ken is confused about herself and her feelings, especially surrounding Stereotypical Barbie. A Barbie always had a Ken…maybe she was hers?

I fucking spelt interior wrong in the gifset. AHHHH

Now that the studios have stopped being bitches, we can acknowledge all the remarkable releases of 2023 (a special shoutout to the talented individuals who contributed to their excellence). On day four, craft something inspired by a creation that emerged this year, whether it’s an entirely new series or just a fresh instalment in an existing one.
