i haven't sat down and tried designing new iterators in forever even though i really love designing them lol.

Thunder's Echo is the brother of Epoch of Clouds, they're made by the same Ancient. I imagine he's in an area that storms a lot (regardless of iterator water consumption). He's soft spoken and has given up on solving the great problem, he just wants to give people company.

Dawning Comet is like those stuck up art school kids. A big know-it-all. Still, he's super passionate about art and expression. Resents the ancients for leaving them to their task and tries to do what he can to be sure art will flourish (in some way). His region is probably COVERED in graffiti and his overseers probably project images of art to scavengers and slugcats lol...

Next gen AU character roster!! This is mostly just an attempt to practice formatting posts and figure out how to use this app um ANYWAY

(heads up, this won’t be extremely in depth about lore or backstories, just simple introductions!)

This is the main roster in a row next to each other, along with their ages. Some of the art here is older than others… I’ll explain them in some more detail.

This here is Amber Gleam and her sister, Comet Trail! Long story short, Amber’s ‘real’ name is Cicada, and she is actually an adopted changeling, raised by Princess Twilight and later on her stepdad, Sunburst. Comet is her younger sister. Comet is competing with their cousin, Flurry Heart for royal guard status. I’ll talk more about Flurry later. Amber has been raised in the shadows for most of her life to hide her identity, which has led to issues socializing as well as a harsh reputation among the public as opposed to her sister.

Racing Heart isn’t actually the offspring of any canon characters, but she is an old OC that I love too much to remove, so she’s a part of my AU because she can. She’s a hopeless romantic lesbian who constantly crushes on all kinds of characters, but her eye is primarily set on Cotton Bow, who I’ll talk about next. I accidentally made her with lesbian colors back in 5th grade… I didn’t even know the word lesbian… wow…

Cotton Bow is the daughter of Mayor Diamond Tiara and Pipsqueak. She is best friends with Amber and they both bond over the issues that come from being the daughters of well known political figures and just wanting to be average, normal ponies. Although, Cotton doesn’t know about Cicada’s secret. Cotton’s special talent is knitting/crocheting (to her parents’ dismay) and she’s an introvert who doesn’t want to follow her family’s legacy.

Koi Concord is the son of Discord and Fluttershy. He has some powers from his father but they mainly remain limited to nature. He obtained his mother’s ability to speak to animals, but his favorites are sea creatures. He spends majority of his time swimming in rivers and creeks with little fishy friends, and keeps to himself for the most part. (Amber doesn’t like him very much as she deems his introversion as a waste of his ability to coexist with ponies as a mix breed/foreign species unbothered, unlike her who has to stay a secret)

Marigold Peaberry! The daughter of Rarity and Joe, she actually was really difficult to make a solid design for because I made her before picking her parents and then I had to redesign her to make her look related… it was a whole mess. She still doesn’t really have any personality or official role in the story.

Now we’re getting into old art territory… Startrix have 2 kids! Epitome Dusk and her brother Jinx Nightfall. Jinx is magically disabled and cannot use his horn without causing any accidents.This made his family incredibly heartbroken, but they all love him nonetheless. I imagine that these two hang out with Concord the most, since he’s the youngest of my next gen main characters.

Now time for Flurry! In my next gen AU, they are actually nonbinary and are dating Luster Dawn! I had a little bit of a poll/vote among my friends over if Luster should have been with Flutty or Comet and Flurry won! They don’t have a large role.

You might be wondering why that purple one at the end of the roster hasn’t appeared, and that’s because they aren’t canon. at least, I haven’t decided if they should be or not. Sunrise is a next gen for pinkiedash, but they’re merely a design concept for now. I’ll probably answer any questions people have about these guys if i have any answers. i doubt i’ll be getting any for a WHILE.

So, I lost all my old character intros when I nuked the old blog. They're probably floating around somewhere.

If nobody knows who Royston is, he is the tritagonist (that's right, idiot, Hofer's the deuteragonist) of Doom Metal Love Story and a neverending pain in my neck. As of July 1st, 1873 he is a 45-year-old gambler who's wanted in five states for various flavors of murder and known to consort with 37-year-old First Sergeant Cole Sullivan.

I will do my best to keep spoilers to a minimum; however, for my own sanity, I'm answering for Book 2 Royston.

Oc/au rambling alert! Also kinda long!

Okay I just wanna get this out and maybe get some opinions but just. Lemme tell you some things about Nels and his pack of night furies. Massive infodump.

The queen is named Ina (which means mother) and she is Toothless's biological mother. She got separated from Toothless (when he was a young juvenile) during a hunter attack shortly before finding Nels and, because she was still grieving the perceived lost of her only hatchling and feeling maternal, she decided to take in the little viking that appeared to be abandoned. Nels considers her to genuinely be family, since she's the only maternal figure he's had most of his life.

There are two mated pairs in the pack. One pair is brooding eggs at the time of Nels 'joining' the hunters and the other pair have two hatchlings.

Mated pair 1: Aurora and Snare. They have the two hatchlings, named Nova and Echo.

Mated pair 2: Dusk and Comet. They have the eggs, and Dusk has a sister named Dawn.

Other pack members are Hooktwister, Thor, Ember, and Opal.

I will be drawing (or at the very least coloring a free base of) them all later when I have the spoons for it.

They are all WILD. They hunt their own prey. They attack and fight like wild dragons. They don't hold back, and Nels doesn't try to hold them back.

If one of them is threatened all the others nearby will immediately jump to protect/defend.

MY PERSONAL FAVORITES: THEY KNOW HOW TO HELP/ACCOMMODATE INJURIES AND DISABILITIES. Hooktwister has a tear in one of his wings that makes flying a little difficult for him. So, to remedy this, one other member of the pack will usually fly directly beneath or beside him. Using their own wing to catch the wind and acting as a crutch so Hooktwister can still fly and go hunting with the others.

Additionally, hatchlings can be scuffed like kittens when they're young. They do the same scrunch/going limp thing as well. As they age the excess skin thins out a bit, revealing the pressure point that opens up the spines along their back. Usually a parent or leader will activate this pressure point around the time a night fury is a juvenile and preparing to join hunting parties. Toothless got separated from the pack before this was done for him.

Hell, if I know. Anywhere, I guess. I've always wanted to see the world, but never managed it, so drop me any place and I'll probably be happy.

Who do you go to the most for emotional support?

Bah, I don't need emotional support! I'm Fair Folk. I do what I please and take what I want. ...But Anarac is a really great listener when I need to talk, just don't tell anyone I said that.

Do you tend to be a night owl or an early bird?

Night owl, for sure. I'm a musician by trade, so I'm used to late hours and lazy mornings. They always say you can sleep when you're dead, and I've found that to be true, but it hasn't stopped me from staying up til the crack of dawn many a time.

Are you petty?

A fellow once said my hair looked funny during a show, so I snuck up to his room and dyed his beard green. Never even learned the bastard's name. Does that answer your question?

Do you forgive easily?

In the Exumbra Hive, you learn not to take things personally. I don't care if someone trips me because they think it's funny - I'll get them back when I sleep with their wife. We're all out for our own pleasure in this world, so you can't get mad when someone steps on your toes following what they want. You'd do the same to them, after all.

Would you describe yourself as very emotional?

Ah, I don't think so. My crewmates call me laid-back. I just tend to let things wash over me and don't get too troubled about it.

What's one thing you wish people understood about you?

I'm sorry, but Illari folk always get their britches in such a twist over the smallest things. When I take the ship's hammock, it's not because I hate you personally. It's because I want a good night's sleep and I'm quicker than you. If you wanted the hammock, you should've taken it from me. I'm not going to be mad - if you're bigger and stronger and toss me out, that's just the way the world works.

If you could relive any moment in your life, what would it be and why?

Of my life? Playing my first gig, easily. ...Or maybe my first excursion past the Hive walls. I can't decide. It should be my first gig. I'll go with that one.

What's a habit you wish you could break?

Why would I break a habit if it's enjoyable? I can't say I really have too many habits, to be fair. I'm not the addictive type - you'll want the captain for that.
