"Issue #34: Sunset Days"

Here we are! The start of something great and terrible! Defiance has arrived, and we have no choice but to wait and see if anyone makes it out alive.

I never quite got to work Hush Puppy's fate as much into the comic as I wanted, so I'll go into it a little more here. She did starve to death, like Egrettail says. As Thrasher put more time into "training" his growing kits and less into hunting, Hush Puppy got less food and gave up a lot of her own for the kittens. A combination of that and pure stress just sapped everything from her.

Also, I feel this may need to be said; yes, the dream canine with blue eyes is Rainhaze, not Prowl, but Pinepaw doesn't know that. It is dramatic irony.

i wanted to draw the third guy (noise) but i also have to focus on commissions. but anyway

purple guy - denchi

glasses - hush.

they both have similar backstory of being in corporate (denchi is a mage where hush was an executive) and losing their job because of Noise. Denchi was fired and had a hit put on him because he knew sensitive information, Hush was just disgraced and he is incomprehensibly vain and took it very personally.

Denchi is really bitchy and always complaining about something. He wears luxury fashion brands and listens to the worst possible music you can think of. As a mage, he thinks he's a very special boy that deserves only the best. As a short gay guy in corporate, he is very guarded and prone to snapping back first. The type to just dish out insults on reflex.

Hush is the worst guy ever. He is vain and bitchy and he is always trying to assert himself as the smartest and hottest bitch in the room. He is always 'well actually...' and trying to make you feel as stupid as possible. He spends a very long time on his appearance. All of his co-workers fucking HATED him and are so glad he's gone. If shadowrunners/mercs got yelp reviews he'd have an overwhelmingly negative score. I cannot stress enough how unpleasant he is to be around.

He and Denchi could be friends/allies because of their shared hatred of Noise but Hush is simply too much even for Denchi. He is like, damn. i'm glad i'm not that guy.

Denchi wants to legit kill Noise and actively tries on a regular basis. Hush forms some homoerotic fixation on him and is like joker/batman with him. Noise still doesn't know who either of these clowns are.

Tent activities.

Convinced that pre-Act 3 canon for these two was all frustrated, restraint agony under the Shadowlands moonlight. Sneaking into Shadowheart’s tent, and getting as far as silent dry-humping or maybe some naked friction, honestly, who knows where Shar Zealots draw the line?

"Issue #33: Hurt Me! Beat Me! Just Please Don't Leave Me!"

Thank you all for your patience while I worked on this! It's the longest issue of PATFW to date, so I hope you understand why it took me so long to produce. At the current pace it seems like issues will come out about every three weeks (or a little more), which is a bit funny to me. I called them "issues" as a reference to comic books and now look where I am. Full circle.

The boys are having a rough time of it, though, unfortunately. If it wasn't already abundantly clear, Cormorantpaw has some pretty severe abandonment and trust issues, which led to him keeping secrets from Pinepaw out of fear that he'd be left once again. But it's hard for Pinepaw to see that perspective when he's just lost his sister, and thinks that she possibly could've been saved... bad situation all around.

At least Thrasher is finally dead! That's worth celebrating, right? Both he and Crow died from a kick to the head, by the way, and the deer who killed Crow is Wild Rose's son Hyssop.
