Well! This is it! The very last epilogue of "Pinepaw and the Forgotten World"!

This epilogue in particular took me awhile to write, because I had to get it exactly how I wanted. Pinewing and Cormorantleaf's relationship is one of the main focuses of the story, and I really felt I needed to explore it the way it deserved. Especially important to me was showing that despite how much they love each other, there's still a ton of baggage and difficulities they needed to work out. I honestly think it would be unrealistic for two characters with so much trauma to just skip off happily together, but I also wanted to emphasize how they could still reconcile in the end. Not all relationships work out, but Pinewing and Cormorantleaf both felt that the other was extremely important to them, and the relationship was something they both wanted. So they were willing to put in the work of building it back up.

I had a ton of fun drawing older Pinewing and Cormorantleaf. I started doodling Pinewing with full facial hair something like a year ago, and I've been so desperate to finally get it into the comic since. It feels so right for him, like his perfect final form. After a life full of pressure and difficulty Pinewing just wants to be a happy old man who gets to kiss his husband every day, and sometimes profesy the future writ flesh. Goodbye, my little blue cat; I'm gonna miss you.

The title of this epilogue comes from "Mimsy Were The Borogoves" by Lewis Padgett: "They would survive, but they would not know how to swim downstream, to the vaster world of the ocean.”

In the end, the whole project wraps up at 64,501 words, 370 pages, and two and a half years of production time. I started this project expecting it to be a minor thing I occasionally drew on the side, something a few people might find interesting. The enormously positive response has absolutely blown me away and continues to do so, and I am forever so grateful that thousands of people can enjoy and meaningfully relate to this story.

Thank you, as always, to everyone who has commented, shared, reblogged, theorized, made fanart, made fanfiction, told their friends, liked it, or just read it at all. Though I won't go into the specific details, PATFW is an extremely personal and cathartic creation of mine, so the fact that many of you have also told me that it connected with you on an emotional level is genuinely heart-touching. I appreciate all your readership through these years. It means a lot.

PATFW is over now and I couldn't resist to draw a little sketch of old Pinewing. And Pinepaw for compare. My favourite character Asphodelshine for sure, but his design just spokes to me.

I been seeing a lot of PATFW content last year, but for some reason I only decided to check it out when almost all issues were done? And I still baffled by it, it's amaze me that's whole concept of warriors and clans still can manage such interesting themes and topics. And style for issues is genius in it simplicity, finally something that you can believe is possible to do in spare time and finish eventually.

So yeah, thanks to @barrenclan for great comic, I enjoyed it more than I ever could have expected!

Cat cult comic list

So I want to list webcomics about cat cults, but dont know too many (i just know that there are many!)

Here is the list so far:

(Note: i have not read all of these comics so I cant give accurate trigger warnings. Please check warnings from the comic! I may add some warnings to some comics if they are extreme enough and someone asks me to)

- @jumalanpelko (cats worship supernatural parasite that kills their host)

- @followthemagpie (cats stuck in forest cover have a lovely little fucked up cult)

- @whatlurksbean (cats worship a crab and it gets messy)

- @barrenclan (cult of animals are REALLY into death. wasnt sure if it counts since most of the cult are not cats but added it anyway since all main characters are cats)

- I didn't know (cat is exiled from her cult, cw: rape)

- @aphidclan-clangen (there is a sparkle cat clan but also scary cult that doesnt allow anything)

- @circus-clangen (cats live in a circus, comedy turned into horror. The cult has not been big part of the story yet but I have insider information that there will be a cat cult. Not just a comic, includes games!)

-So smite me down (cat cult comic that became animation, or so i hear)

- @rainy-wc (cat cult near the sea, based on clangen)

-Shadow of the moon (cat cult that worships moon. Some rebellion is happening)

Criteria:

-can be 100% og story or warriors (ect) fan comic (clangen ok as well)

-main cast has to be cats

-there has to be a cult and it has to be a big part of the story! Either main characters live in a cult or they dont but the cult is the main enemy ect

-NOTE! In many warrior cats stories the clans could very well be seen as cults, but not every warriors comic counts! Stuff like how strict the rules are and how they effect the characters ect ect has to be main part of the story. Religion being present doesnt count

Just comment if any comes to mind!

I finished reading Pinepaw and the Forgotten World ( @barrenclan ) and cannot express how much it affected me. I am filled with love and a newfound fear of deer.

Great character arc. Loved the murderous gay deer part. Deer are much more carnivorous than most people think, they’ll often eat baby birds. Can’t blame them, I myself enjoy snatching up a baby chickadee every now and then. Protein.

@barrenclan, I love this man so I made him a small Chinese water deer. But worry you not! He can still get some action with those teeth.

"Farewell, and I Love You"

Here were are; the last proper issue of Pinepaw and the Forgotten World. As I've said before, I have a series of ten epilogues planned which will wrap up all of the main characters' lives, so the comic is not quite done yet. Hence I'll save all the rambly, sappy stuff for that final epilogue.

The epilogues will begin posting on January 7th, and will post twice-weekly on Tuesday and Friday until they're finished. The first three are already available on my Patreon if you're interested.

For now, I just want to say - thank you so much to everyone who has read and shared my comic. It's meant a lot to me. I hope you all liked it.

little artdump of all the patfw fanart I made over the span of the comic in honor of its ending! i adore it with all my heart and will likely make much more in the future!

Left out Oysterpelt because the public isn't ready for her but besides that all of this art spanned from July of 2023 all the way to April of 2024! I also made a DeepProwl PMV you can find here because I love those freaks.

Overall PATFW was just such a killer comic, by far one of my favorites I've ever read, and it was a blast getting to follow it as issues came out! I've got a Hush Puppy PMV in the works as well, and frankly I don't think I'll stop making fanart for it anytime soon. Anyone who hasn't should go give it a read over at @barrenclan !
