A Day on the Riviera

The sun shone brightly on the Côte d’Azur as the group of six gathered on the pristine yacht bobbing gently in the azure waters. The laughter and chatter filled the air, the perfect blend of friendship, love, and relaxation. The yacht was as luxurious as it was spacious, but the real charm was the people on board: Charles, his girlfriend Yn, Carlos with Rebecca, and Pierre with Kika.

Charles couldn’t take his eyes off Yn. She was sitting with Rebecca and Kika, the three of them engrossed in conversation and giggling over something Rebecca had just said. Yn was wearing a flowy sundress that complemented her perfectly, her hair catching the sunlight and her smile radiant enough to rival the sun.

“She looks like a literal goddess,” Charles murmured, half to himself, half to Carlos, who was standing beside him.

Pierre overheard and joined in the teasing. “Let the man live, Carlos. He’s clearly whipped.” Pierre chuckled, sipping his drink. “But seriously, Charles, blink once in a while.”

Charles rolled his eyes, though his gaze remained fixed on Yn. “She deserves it. Look at her. She’s the most beautiful woman in the world.”

“Alright, Romeo, we get it.” Carlos nudged him playfully. “But don’t forget, we’re here too.”

Meanwhile, the girls were having a conversation of their own. Kika leaned closer to Yn, resting her chin in her hand. “You’re glowing, Yn. I swear, if you told me you were royalty, I’d believe it.”

Rebecca nodded enthusiastically. “She’s right. You’re like a princess straight out of a fairytale. Charles is so lucky.”

Yn blushed, waving them off. “Stop it, you two. You’re making me shy!”

“No, no, no!” Kika exclaimed, her eyes wide. “You deserve every compliment. Honestly, the way Charles looks at you? I’d trade my soul for that kind of love.”

Rebecca laughed. “Same here. And the way he’s been snapping pictures of you all day? Girl, he’s obsessed.”

“Speaking of which…” Yn trailed off as Charles finally broke away from the boys and started making his way toward her.

Charles approached with a grin, phone in hand. “Ladies, I hope you don’t mind if I steal Yn for a moment.”

“Steal her? Charles, she’s already yours,” Rebecca teased, nudging Yn playfully.

Yn stood up, smiling at Charles as he reached for her hand. “What is it?”

“Nothing,” he said softly, his green eyes sparkling. “I just wanted to take some pictures of you. You look... breathtaking.”

Rebecca and Kika exchanged knowing looks and let out dramatic sighs. “Ugh, goals,” Kika whispered, making Yn laugh.

Charles led Yn to the bow of the yacht, where the view of the sea stretched endlessly. He positioned her against the golden sunlight and began snapping pictures. “Just like that,” he murmured, “You’re perfect.”

“You’re being ridiculous,” Yn said, though her smile gave away how much she adored his attention.

“No,” Charles said, lowering the phone to look at her directly. “I’m being honest. I don’t know what I did to deserve you.”

Yn stepped closer, wrapping her arms around his neck. “You’re sweet, but you don’t have to keep flattering me, you know.”

“It’s not flattery if it’s true,” Charles replied before leaning in to kiss her. It was soft and tender, the kind of kiss that spoke volumes about how deeply he cared for her.

Back at the seating area, Carlos and Pierre watched the scene unfold.

Charles and Yn returned to the group, hand in hand. Yn looked flushed but happy, and Charles had an unmistakable look of pride on his face.

“Good,” Charles shot back with a grin. “You should all treat your girlfriends like queens.”

Pierre raised his glass. “Touché. To queens and whipped boyfriends, then.”

Everyone laughed, clinking their glasses together. The day carried on with more laughter, playful teasing, and plenty of love in the air. As the sun began to set over the Riviera, Charles leaned into Yn’s ear and whispered, “Every moment with you is perfect. You know that, right?”

Yn looked up at him, her heart swelling. “And you make every moment feel like a dream.”

For Charles, there was no teasing in the world that could make him care. Yn was his everything, and he wasn’t afraid to show it.

Alicent’s decision to betroth her youngest to Aegon rather than Helaena was not one that came easily. It was also not one that came without resentment from her second son.

Logically, you should have been betrothed to Aemond or a lord from whichever house was suitable since it was Helaena who was born first and Aegon would have to wait years for you to be marriage age. But Alicent always knew she’d never marry you outside of your house, she needed you close at hand. A girl needs her mother, desperately, she knew that very well. She had suffered without her own mother, for it should have been her who guided her in matters of marriage, in holding her head high as a young girl living in such a tumultuous place as the red keep. But it would be different for you, she resolved. You would not suffer from being without your mother, you’d not enter marriage to a man you hardly knew. You’d have her as your eternal advocate. There were kinder men than your brothers who would have your hand, she could concede that much but Viserys had been kind and still she had been lost, had been isolated, she had still been wounded irreparably. No, what you needed most was to stay with your mother.

She thought of wedding you to Aemond, who followed you about like a little guard dog; but truly, she felt it wrong to marry Helaena to Aegon. She was a delicate girl, even more so than herself when she’d become queen. Aegon rejected even simply speaking directly to her when they were in the same room. Helaena was a strange sort of girl and though she loved her all the same, Alicent knew very well she couldn’t saddle the poor girl with the duties of a queen in addition to standing alongside a boy so unruly as Aegon. Aemond would be dutiful toward her, whether he wanted her for a bride or not. You, however, were the only one who would quell Aegon even temporarily. Your scoldings were the only ones that got any real reaction from him. He hovered near you and acted like a fool simply to hear your laughter.

She remembered that when you were small, you played with a newborn kitten you found in gardens. You’d insisted on taking him and his mother inside and caring for them as your pets. Aegon, who seemed to trail after you wherever you went then, had handled the poor thing too roughly and it had died. You had been so furious and bereaved that you refused to speak to him for weeks. In those weeks, Alicent witnessed her slovenly, shameless and apathetic son rush to and fro with gifts, trying to make you forgive him. To him, it had only been a game, a bit of fun, really. They were only little, what did their lives really matter? He had done the same with Helaena, crushing butterflies and moths in his hands in front of her. But even if he didn’t understand the fuss, even if he didn’t regret the act in and of itself, he truly felt remorse for hurting your feelings and even more so for making you so cross with him. He had stood outside your door drunkenly pleading every night before he went to bed. You were no fool. You could tell from his vague platitudes that he didn’t truly feel sorry for what he’d done, only for upsetting you. Which was why you continued ignoring him until he surprised you one night with the soft mewing of kittens outside your door.

You had rushed out to find a basket of orange kittens with Aegon standing nearby with a proud smile on his face. “Do you like them?” He had asked. You knelt to play with the wriggly kittens, they were mewing loudly, climbing over each other in the basket and they nibbled on your fingers when you pet them. You giggled. “Where did you find them? I hope you haven’t separated them from their mother.”

“Be at peace, sweet sister, I found them while I was about the streets. No mother in sight. You’re their mother now.” He clasped his hands behind his back tightly, hoping this offering would make you love him again. In reality, he’d been about the brothels, whining about the situation in the arms of a whore until she, a bit fed up with his weepiness, told him to simply buy you another kitten. King’s Landing was lush with cats coming and going from their owner’s homes, constantly getting pregnant and having squalling little babies that most would gladly sell if they could. Aegon had then lept up, tossed her some coin and set about his plan for redemption.

Alicent had never seen anything like it. Aegon bumbling about like a fool trying to impress you, to stay in your good graces when he wouldn’t do so much as be decent to stay in hers. She thought you’d make him a fine queen. It was your head that the crown would rest most easily on. Helaena would not be able to pull him this way and that as you did; and he would not be so kind to her as he was to you. So, she betrothed you to him and Helaena to Aemond. Aemond had his complaints but he knew his mother would only hear so many of them until she tuned him out. In his own eyes, he was the superior heir to the throne, dutiful and sedate but still it belonged to his worthless elder brother, he had come to terms with that much. He was only a second son, it was bitter and unfortunate but it was a matter of birth that was not to be mourned over forever. But to know that he had been denied his younger sister’s hand was enough to awaken that resentment again. Aegon was the firstborn son, he got to be unworthy and still have a bride above himself. Aemond was dutiful, he listened to their mother’s commands and what had he gotten for the trouble? His elder sister who should have been his brother’s bride.

What did Aegon know of love and duty toward you? It had been Aemond protecting you whenever Aegon was trying to lead you into some foolish plot outside the keep. It wasn’t fair. Why was he constantly being rewarded for his shamelessness? Why did duty not just go unrewarded but get penalized? It made his blood boil with indignation but there was nothing he could do except marry Helaena. Continue to do his duty as his mother insisted. He knew how to covet in silence.

Aegon once coveted his mother’s love, lamented that she did not love him even in his depravity as he felt a mother should. She had loved you since you were born but she could not even meet his eyes anymore. It gave him all the more reason to mope and stew in self pity, to brew an undue hatred toward you but as you grew, you were able to reach him with your smile. A giggle when he teased Aemond or when he made a fool of himself. You trusted him, loved him even. You, with the face of your mother, looked upon him with pleasure. He would have done anything to keep that. It was too late for Alicent’s love, he knew that much. But it would be easier to keep in your good graces, you didn’t really know him yet.

On the morning of your wedding day, Alicent helped you get ready. She sent away your maids as she often did. When you were just a child, she’d hover over them disapprovingly as they brushed your hair and admonish them for minor infractions until she simply snatched the brush from their hands with a sigh and took over. She hated for you to be touched by others, especially your lowborn maids. They didn’t understand how gentle you were, that you required an especially gentle hand. She was also the only one who truly knew what hairstyles you best suited. She knew how to put pins in your hair without hurting you even once, she knew how to braid your hair tight enough to hold but not tight enough to give you a headache. She loved your hair, she could not bear to see anyone mistreat it.

Today, you were to wear your house colors. Helaena sat on the floor, fiddling in your jewelry box, handing Alicent a golden necklace with rubies to drape across your neck. The cool metal made you flinch as it touched your skin. You were trembling, frightened of a day where all eyes were to be on you. “You look lovely,” Helaena said quietly. “I’ve never seen you in red before, it makes you look like a little ladybug.” You smiled at her, not wanting to ignore her kindness even despite your anxiety. “Thank you.”

Alicent stepped back to look at you. “You do look lovely,” she said, sadly. Her eyes were misted over with tears seeing you dressed befitting a Targaryen bride. You were but small to her. Here you were, looking as she did when she was wed to Viserys. It made her realize just how young and frightened she must have looked then. “Enough to bring the seven kingdoms to their knees.” She mustered a smile. Your fate was not hers, she assured herself, all you needed was your mother’s care and unlike her, you would always have it.

“I'm frightened…” You unraveled at your mother’s praises, giving away your façade to confess your anxieties to your mother who had always soothed them. Alicent pulled you into her arms delicately, so as not to smoosh your intricately done hair. “Oh, sweetling,” she murmured, tearing up. “It is alright.”

“The eyes of the whole court on me...” Your voice carried such a heartbreaking note of fear. You were near trembling in her arms, Alicent almost wished to put off the wedding entirely. She did not seek to wed you to Aegon for her own folly, but because you had to be wed as a princess and if not within the family, to someone outside who would steal you from her arms and perhaps harm you. And were she to send you to become a septa, you’d also have to part from her. You'd be alone and without her guidance. She knew why she was doing what she was doing and that it was the only thing to do, even so, it nearly broke her. But she was no longer a frightened child, she was the one whose job it was to be strong.

After holding you in her arms for some time, she soothed you and finally resolved to walk you down the altar. It was unusual for a mother to walk her daughter down the altar and tongues would certainly wag for her coddling you but she didn't care. If you could not go alone, she would always offer you her hand. She took your trembling hand in her warm, certain one and led you down to Aegon. When you reached him, she continued to hold your hand, standing to the side of you, mouthing the vows you'd near forgotten in your nervousness. Her eyes flitted about the sept, making sure everyone was behaving properly, she wouldn't have anyone embarrassing you with whispers of gossip. They could do that when they left the keep, when they were far enough away that she could keep their insults from reaching your ears.

Luckily, though it seemed there was a bit of talk, many found your timid disposition to be endearing or at least unsurprising due to your elder sister’s shared reticence. When you got to the feast, many already tipsy lords and ladies came up to you, speaking sweet words to wish you congratulations on the wedding. Still, it did little to lessen the anxiety you felt growing toward your next task as a wife. Aemond had given a toast in which he very pointed asserted that his sword would always be at your service and that if you should need a dutiful man to rely on, he would be at your side in a moment’s notice. Helaena had expressed her wish that all of your time would not be stolen away by Aegon. Rhaenyra and her lot were there, to her chagrin, her eldest son's dark eyes lingered on you, lusting for what was not his, as usual. She wanted more than anything to have him sent from the feast for leering at her daughter but she knew that would not do, she was at least glad that it escaped your notice. Rhaenyra had once offered a marriage bid between you and Jacaerys; seeing how well the two of you played as children but Alicent had, of course, refused. Aemond had been tasked from then on with keeping you away from all of her bastard boys, the Driftmark incident had only further strengthened her resolve. Had she let one of those boys lay hands on you, the gods only know how much you'd pay for it.

Alicent remembered her own wedding night, the pain and the odd need for her to stifle her tears. She remembered thinking of how strange it was that this man was now her husband, now with her in the most intimate way and even so, she had to keep up a certain countenance. She should not share her pain and displeasure with him. He was not just a man, nor her king or her husband, he was a job. Her heart was aching every moment just looking at you and remembering.

She had always resolved to help you through. She wouldn't dare let you suffer. She handed you a goblet of wine which you took without hesitation, drinking it down in hopes that inebriation would help you tolerate the night ahead. But Alicent had thought ahead and had your goblet filled with poppy wine to make you sleepy, pliant and unable to feel such fear and pain as she had. By the time you and Aegon bid your guests goodnight, you were in the clouds. But her job was not done.

When you and Aegon reached your chambers, Alicent followed, helping you onto the bed. Aegon gave her a look. "Really, mother...Don't tell me you need to see me bed her to believe I can." He was insulted by her feeling the need to hover over even his wedding night. How could she believe he'd do something untoward to the only sibling he truly loved? Aegon's mind swirled with undue indignation at his mother's presence.

"I won't have you damage her, Aegon." Alicent said, warily without any bite to her words but with a resolve that would not be argued against.

Meanwhile, as Aegon whined back to her, you laid on the bed which somehow felt softer than anything you'd ever slept on before, your mind gone away and into the sky with the dragons. You heard the murmuring voice of your mother and it made you feel warm inside, it made you miss her hand which had held yours before. "Mother..." you mumbled. Alicent was at your side in an instant, whispering soothing words as she carefully took off your wedding dress, “I'm right here, sweetling, it's alright." She draped it over the back of a chair and turned to Aegon, "I'll be looking over you, as often as need be. You've skirted your duties for too long now, I won't have you hurt her in another of your grasps for pleasure. She is your wife, not a whore.” Then, she perched in a chair near the bed, eyeing him mistrustfully

Aegon frowned and took off his clothes with a huff before her, climbing onto the bed, hovering over you. He was frustrated from his mother’s insult and his breaths came harshly as he struggled to proceed with the night with any dignity. He had trouble even getting it up, feeling his mother’s prying eyes on him, waiting to scold him. Your hand came up suddenly to cup his cheek, your bleary eyes meeting his and a soft smile tugging at your lips. That moment of tenderness was all that he needed. It fell into place nicely for him then. You were his lady wife, you loved him and finally, he could have you as any man wishes to have a woman. His mother’s uncertain gaze mattered nothing in that moment. All that mattered was you beneath him; soft, forgiving.

He was…made capable by just your hand on his cheek and his own hand went to his cock, stroking it to full hardness as he spit in the other to rub into you. He began trying clumsily to loosen you up. Your head lolled to the side, gazing at your mother who hurriedly put a small smile on her face. You smiled back, clearly still in the clouds, even as Aegon grew impatient and finally decided you were wet enough.

“Gentle,” Alicent hissed, a ball of anxiety in the corner of the room. Aegon did not acknowledge her save for a soft scoff but was a bit more careful in his actions…a bit.

It didn’t hurt much, there was just a slight sting with each snap of his hips. Otherwise, it didn’t feel like much of anything, either due to the wine or Aegon himself. But as you were lost between dreams and reality, you sighed softly at the gentle rocking of the bed. Aegon took this as your pleasure and he was further spurred on. He sped up, his own sounds of pleasure ringing out in the quiet room. Your dreamy expression was entirely due to the poppy wine but Aegon would never know that. All he could feel was the rush of pleasing his sister, of his own pleasure, of proving his mother wrong. He was overzealous, coasting on the desperate little burst of scarce pride it all brought him.

Meanwhile, Alicent’s body shuddered in revulsion and horror. She bit down hard on her lip, trying to suppress a strangled sound of distress. Her eyes were shining with unshed tears. To watch her most treasured daughter…she did not have the stomach for it. It was her duty, one she’d taken on willfully but she had not been thinking of herself then. She had not been thinking of how much it would remind her of Viserys. She had nearly cried out herself when Aegon had first entered you. When the two of you were done—well, when Aegon was done, he slumped over to the side of the bed, apparently exhausted with his arm still around you. She sat for a while in silence, staring blankly into space and considering everything. You, however, were still just barely awake. “Mother…” you murmured just as she was trying to gather sense again.

Alicent snapped back into reality. “Yes, sweetling?” she breathed, overwhelmed by the display she had just seen but still wanting to attend you. She quickly grabbed a nightgown from your wardrobe to cover you.

“Stay with me, please,” you said as she pushed Aegon aside and carefully slid on your nightgown.

Alicent’s heart melted at the words. She sat at the side of your bed and wrapped her arms about you, pressing your head to her chest. Her voice wavered. “I would not dream of leaving you.”

Okay so this post may initially come off as corny to some, but I just had to make a birthday related IWTV post. Today is my birthday, and it's the first one I've celebrated being apart of the fandom. I started watching the show in March of this year and I don't think I'm the only one who feels like their life has completely changed😅. Without a doubt, IWTV is the best series I've ever seen and that's coming from someone who has watched many many shows and has had some obsessions here and there back in the day. From Buffy, to TVD (give or take a season), GOT (years after it ended), and so many more, but IWTV hits me on a whole different level that I could have never imagined.

When the show came out in 2022, I'll admit I didn't give it a chance like I should have, and apart of me is grateful that I didn't, because I don't know how you all survived the year & half hiatus. I almost didn't survive waiting only TWO months for the new season, so I can only imagine how it felt to wait even longer.

If you follow my blog or have seen a random post from me, it's no secret that I am a huge Loustat fan and I have such a tremendous soft spot for Jam. (I've spent an embarrassingly long time watching interviews and clips of them, and I can't get enough). Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid are both incredible and amazing at what they do. I absolutely can't wait for season 3 and all it has to offer. Ready to see some promotional images, videos, trailers, cast announcements, etc.

What's been getting me through this hiatus has been a lot of phenomenal things. Many people in this fandom have been wonderful and have provided great information and interesting theories (some I'm hoping play out). No, I haven't read the books but I do know quite a bit about what goes on and that's thanks to a lot of research and the many people in this fandom.

Sometimes the fandom can be on one and things can get crazy, but for the most part it's been a real treat getting to experience this show with those who love it just as much. From the fanfiction that is now apart of my daily read, to the fan videos, and definitely to the beautiful artwork from the most talented people out there (I think I have a redbubble problem with as much merch I have purchased). It's all just been a real mind-blowing experience, and I've pretty much "fallen into a well with no bottom."

And let's not forget the most amazing cast, show runners, writers, directors, etc. Yes, I absolutely LOVE Jam, but the whole entire cast was made for this show and their acting is astounding. I would love to meet them in real life one day as I've heard nothing but great things.

So, moral of this novel of a post, and if you've stuck with it this far, is I just wanted to say how much I desperately love the show and the talent that this fandom has showcased.

Not only that, I've met one of my dearest friends from this fandom. You know who you are♥️♥️♥️ And words aren't enough to express how much your friendship means to me.

So, I wanted to list below just a few things from myself and others.

this story was so unserious 😂 like it was a 50/50 gamble for me. people are either going to hate it or absolutely love it and i’m so thrilled it was the latter 😂♥️ i don’t usually dabble with OCs in my fics, but this one time it turned out affectionately hilarious and everyone loved Emad (including me lol) it was so fun basing this fic on a local movie and making henry and alex visit real life locations here where i live and imagine what their experiences would be like 🥹♥️

My first ever participation in a big bang, the longest work I’ve written so far in the rwrb fandom, and also my first time writing a spy au! Writing this story wasn’t easy, because I wanted to capture the essence of Henry and Alex’s characters in a world that’s so different from the book, and I think I did alright :) I loved exploring the lengths to which Henry’s grief for his father would go if placed in different circumstances. I also loved writing the action scenes for this fic because I’m such a visual reader, so like- if the image doesn’t immediately flash in the reader’s mind when they read my works, then I’ve fallen short of what I’m doing. I expected this story to do much better than how it did, but I’m also grateful for everyone who gave it their time 🤍

tbh i sat on this one for a while to think of how to dive into it-- beware of my (VERY) long ramblings below!

this question really got me Thinkin' and i kinda popped off but!! If i may indulge myself, here's sort of a wild explanation of how i approach Leo's Insane Brain for this specific fic:

does it meet R.I.S.E???

R - Realistic? I - Interesting? S - Silly? E - Existential?

R - Realistic

"How the hell do i make this sound realistic" is often an obstacle i run into. but it's also the Secret Sauce. What really gives the thought process direction. Given Leo's current situation, he's battling between what he wants and what he needs to do. Which is often a very real problem real people have. Exaggerating it helps create a fun back-and-forth dialog that can make his thoughts seem muddled.

With Leo in this fic’s setup, there are about five main key factors i rely on with his decision making:

Happiness The root of Leo’s general personification. He’s the guy who beat Krang One. The one who escaped a place worse than Hell. After years of missing home so much he’s FINALLY home. He’s drunk on happiness. He was finally home. And that relief and joy is what makes him so jubilant and goofy.

Awareness of his goal Though Rise Leo is a very funny dude, he's still a Leonardo. Throughout the series, Leo is the voice of reason when things are getting out of hand or are potentially dangerous. Leo's had nothing but time to think. Wishing what he'd done different. Wishing he had been more serious. After five years obsessing over his mistake and missing his family, the moment he see's the opportunity to make sure this never happens again he'll latch onto it. And when the stakes are high, accentuating that tension can help with frantic impact of his thinking.

His desire to see his family This desire often clashes with point number 2. Writing his internal struggle between the two helps with the “overwhelmed thoughts” vibe. It’s hard for him to choose! And he doesn’t wanna have to choose! Playing out the conflict between his 'want' vs his 'need to do' helps me bring out his nervous thinking process.

He's self-reprimanding thoughts We all love an Angsty Leo. It was hinted in the show that he had some self-esteem issues, but who doesn't love ramping it up to 11 for a fic??? That, and he was trapped with Krang this whole time. After hearing he was nothing but trash for five years PLUS the guilt of nearly ending the world, the guy doesn't exactly see himself in a great light you know? This can help clash with point 1, again helping with that 'what he wants' vs 'what he needs to do' inner conflict.

Instinct to Survive / Feral Tendencies This one is super fun. I love feral AUs/tropes. With little to no socialization in the Prison Dimension, Leo's sanity started to slip, leaving his body's natural instincts to become more profound. Plus, with the Krang Parasite, I like to exaggerate how feral/dangerous he could be outside of 'turtle' instincts. (Seeing that parasite hosts in the movie were very violent). Sprinkling in feral moments is just a delicious thrill I love adding, and it makes the insanity factor skyrocket and it's so fun to write 🩵🩵🩵

I - Interesting

Is Leo's thought process interesting to read??? Honestly, I just gun for what I think is the most interesting; Leo's relationship with his brothers (especially Raph), and the cause and effects of his shenanigans.

Also, I liked to experiment with wonky texts to help emphasize key moments or words to grab attention. Mostly because it feels like a fun surprise to read them in my opinion. Though not necessary in writing, I thought using some funky fonts might entice and excite 💙

S- Silly

THE BIG ONE!!! EVERYONE'S FAVORITE!!! 🎉🎊🥳🎉 Something I really love love love about Rise's style is that it's silly It's unique! It's fun! I love that Leo and the others are goofy and have some slap-stick moments. And I wanted to keep that with Leo despite everything. Plus, I ADORE that in this iteration of TMNT, the characters are such showmen. They are DRAMATIC. They are SILLY. And that's something I wanna celebrate!! Plus, as much as I love angst, writing nothing but pure angst is exhausting. (And I'm sure reading pure angst isn't enjoyably to everyone.) Throwing in Silly moments is like a little moment of refreshment to me 🩵

I also like to believe that Leo kept his sense of humor out of sheer SPITE. The 'wipe that stupid grin off your face' line in the movie really stuck with me. I feel like Leo would smile through his fear and still be a clown just to spite Krang One.

E - Existential

At the end of the day, Leo is dealing with a VERY big issue. I felt like the Rise movie did an excellent job portraying the severity of an alien invasion for the setting Rise had. And the weight of the situation would be too great for one person. And this is often what I refer back to to make Leo snap. A relapse in clarity of mind. A moment for the panic and PTSD to come back in full force and make him rely on his instincts. Usually the feral instincts he became more attuned with while fleeing/fighting Krang One. It also goes hand-in-hand with his awareness of his goal (as mentioned in 'Realistic' above).

And that's kinda a word-vomit of how it goes!! Honestly??? The tug-o-war between conflicting thoughts helps me write the madness in his head. It's been super fun and interesting, and I hope it's been fun to read!!! (Though I'm telling you now I will NOT be doing those floating text tables again OOF)

Hi Anon, thank you so much ♥️ and thank you for the ask (and the rather lovely image 😄) I have had a go at writing a small little drabble below, although this was something new to me so hopefully this is kind of what you wanted, if not then sorry - my mind just went this way! 😆

“You ready?” Charles hums as he mouths lazily at Max’s neck. The Dutchman moans with each press of the lips, the sound vibrating up his throat as he spreads his legs wider and starts rocking against Charles' body. 

“Just go slowly” Max’s eyelids flutter as he looks up at Charles, “to start, go slow” 

He looks a little nervous. Charles doesn’t really blame him, in fact Max has gotten a lot further than most guys that the Monegasque has been with. Nearly every single one has taken one look at his cock and absolutely insisted on topping. Not Max though, Max looked at it and practically drooled before grabbing the lube and telling Charles to start opening him up ready. 

Charles fully intends to follow Max’s instructions and go slowly. Two guys have let him top previously and both never managed his full length. Max looks absolutely determined though. They have spent the best part of two hours prepping the Dutchman. Charles starting with his tongue before progressing to fingers and finally working up to the rather large dildo Max had tucked away in his bedside cabinet. 

There is a definite gape in the Dutchman’s hole now, in fact the more Charles stares at it the more he thinks Max might stand a chance of taking him as promised. Except it is not really just the girth that is the problem. 

“Please Charles” Max keens and pouts as Charles takes his time lining up. The soft mewling sounds turn to hisses though the second Charles’ cock pushes in past his rim. It burns despite the intensive prep and if Max thought the Monegasque looked big then its nothing compared to how big he actually feels as he is sinking in - hot and huge and filing Max up to the point that it seems like there is no room for anything else - not even breath - Max pants out heavily as he tries desperately to free space up inside himself. 

“You good?” Charles stokes his hand down Max’s jaw as he keeps inching in. Max’s eyes are watering already but he’s not asking to slow down just moaning for more and more. 

Charles’ hips stutter slightly and Max groans again, his body feels like it might be too small to accommodate all of the Monegasque and yet he is still trying and willing and eager. 

“Why do you have to be so big?” Max half laughs, half moans. He’s been with guys on the larger side before but not like this. Charles’ cock feels like it’s spearing him open and irrationally Max feels like it’s pushing all the way up into the folds of his throat. 

“Just relax” Charles coos as he feels Max tensing up around him. The Dutchman is moaning and scratching down his back and his legs are shifting against the sheets as he tries to adjust to what is happening to his body. Charles does something he hasn’t done before though - bottoms out. And its fucking glorious 

The Monegasque reaches out and strokes his palm over the curve that is now clearly visible in Max’s stomach. 

“Oh fuck” Max whines loudly as he realises what Charles is doing. The Dutchman reaches down with shaky hands and soothes over where the Monegasque’s cock is pushing up against his skin, “I can feel you” Max doesn’t just mean from the inside, he can feel the shape of Charles’ cock pushing against his taut skin and filling his inside entirely. 

Charles rocks his hips back a little, just a few inches, just enough to see Max’s stomach flatten and then re-inflate as he pushes back in. He’s seen things like this in porn before but honestly thought it was some camera trickery. It doesn’t feel real that Max is taking this, that his stomach is inflating with each movement. Charles feels like he’s - 

Impaling Max. Taking him over completely. Utterly claiming him. 

And Max is willing him on and rocking up against him and looks like he is completely coming undone. 

The Monegasque keeps one hand pressed against Max’s stomach so he can feel the bulge push against him each time he bottoms out. Max is sweating and writhing around and moaning happily. 

“You’re doing so good” Charles reassures as he leans in and peppers kisses along Max’s collarbone. The Monegasque’s vision starts to blur around the edges, Max’s body looks like it’s expanding more than humanly possibly, his belly so rounded he looks - reshaped - or even - 

“You look fucking pregnant” Charles blurts out as he sees Max’s stomach round out once more. Max moans obscenely at the thought and encourages Charles on. 

The Monegasque snaps his hips back and forth. Stares and stares and stares out how Max is taking him as he fucks into the Dutchman at an increasingly desperate pace. With each thrust they both moan and pant and Max starts fucking screaming and crying as he orgasms again and they both watch the come splatter down over the Dutchman’s swollen stomach. 

Charles buries himself as deep as possible into Max and watches as the skin pulls tight and it looks like he is about to rip out of the Dutchman’s body. He comes so hard he feels like he’s flooding Max’s insides to the point the Dutchman might drown in it. As he pulls out slowly the come seeps out and trickles down Max’s shaking thighs. 

“Shit” Charles collapses down on the bed, his whole body trembling, “You did take it all, fuck you took it all” 

Max grins proudly to himself. He had thought Charles had been joking about perpetually having to bottom because other guys were too afraid to be topped by him - Max kind of gets their point now - his body felt like it was going to be ripped open at one point and he’s not sure all his organs are still sat in the right place. It was more than worth it though. 

“You think - , you would let me again?” Charles asks before he’s even come down from his orgasm. He doesn’t mean right away of course, although as Max nods eagerly he thinks maybe another few rounds tonight is not out of the question. If he can fill Max with as much come as possible then the

Was thrilled to hear you’re now a published author and am looking forward to reading some of your work once my X-Files obsession has cooled off some (if it ever does!)

I was always taught fanfic was “not real fiction” and that “real” writers didn’t do it. People like you are an inspiration and prove that’s not the case! ♥️

The best part about fanfic is that it is writing for the sake of pure joy. Joy for the characters; joy for the written word. Once you have to figure out how to make money from your words, it becomes a different thing. It can still be rewarding. It can even still be fun. But it's not the same.

I've said this before but the one thing fanfic will not teach you unless you seek it out is how to be a better writer. Because of the shared joy over the original product, your fanfic will find eager readers no matter what quality it might be. I could do the writer equivalent to taking Mulder and Scully dolls and mashing them together while saying, "Now kiss" and it would still do numbers. Because people want Mulder and Scully to kiss! My writing skill doesn't have to make them want that. They already want it before they even start reading.

I have two fanfic friends who are lovely smart people. At the time I met them, several decades ago, they were both unskilled fanfic writers. They were shooting out stories with endless head hopping, poor character development, and bland dialogue. One of these writers decided she wanted to improve her craft, so she: 1) studied writers who were better than she was to figure out the difference between what she was doing and what they were doing; 2) took classes on writing; 3) asked for honest feedback from other writers. Twenty years later, this writer's work is MUCH stronger. The other writer is no better, but she's still having fun...which is kind of my point. You can be both kinds of writer in fanfic, one here to work at it and one here just to have a good time.

Aww thanks anon! Allow me to put in lots and lots of time on this because The Resurgent Obsession Is Real. XD In the order you listed out:

Legato

I feel like he'd be that nightmarish Trainer (Gym Leader?) who specializes in Psychic Pokemon.

Malamar would be his pride and joy I think! When it was an Inkay it glommed onto him and he sloooowly sorted out he "liked its company"

Prefers Pokemon to people, often violently.

Really his whole team would be designed to make the player go "Oh god oh no oh no OH NO" with each successive sending out. (Except for his Alolan Raichu, I suppose?)

By contrast, he makes excellent curry and his Pokemon all love him.

Vash:

Vash's team is all over the place! He'd be a "completes Pokedex for love" sort of Trainer, with a special fondness for the misunderstood Pokemon.

(See: his "starter" Absol, who he found injured in a ditch and cries over a lot.)

His Absol finds this a bit embarrassing but soldiers on.

That said, Vash's super-secret ace in the hole is Inteleon! >:3

He and Legato would be childhood rivals--or to be more specific, Legato would insist on challenging him all the time while Vash runs away

Belial:

I actually have an entire Pokemon AU for him and Cammy at this point that I keep meaning to burble about in full...but anyway!

Another one you'd never know what to expect from, but he does have his tastes. Dark, Poison, and Fairy for spice!

His "starter Pokemon" was a Trubbish Professor Lucilius chucked at him one day.

That Trubbish is now a very spoiled Garbador! Real "lapdog" energy, if that lapdog was also 6 feet tall and ate the burnt bits off of baking utensils.

This is a long overdue reply! Thanks for the ask, and for your patience... Here we go, story time! Be ready for a long rant and too many horse pictures.

Basically, from age 8, I've been that girl completely obsessed with horses. After consistently nagging my parents, I got to get weekly riding lessons and sometimes a summer camp week. (Lucky kid, I know!)

One of my first lessons, wasn't this boy GORGEOUS?! His name was Monty. Not from Monty Python, but from Monty Roberts.

I got to the point where I could volunteer at the stable without being too much of a nuisance, and I participated in two very small jumping competitions. However at age 12 or 13 I decided to stop, being busy with a ridiculously demanding school. This is also when I started being much more serious about piano. (Which is another story entirely!)

Fast forward to when I was 22, I somehow got a little money of my own, and for some reason, my very first thought was, HORSES. So I got back into it, fell a couple times pretty hard, and became just as obsessed as I had ever been, if not more.

In parallel to doing my MA, I mucked for lessons, assisted a friend trainer, read lots, had a half-pension for a couple months, and sometimes assisted in "babysitting" entire barns for a couple days when the owners were on holiday. I did some jumping, but I was most interested in dressage. I never got to a super good level as a rider, but I really got a good variety of experiences.

I adored this guy I had in half-pension in 2013... He sent me flying through that fence a couple times, but he was the best. Sapporo ❤️

Then I was incredibly lucky that my MA advisor was a horse girl too, and she invited the whole class to retreat seminars on a farm which had about 80 Icelandic horses. My heart exploded for these little guys. I would visit that place (aka paradise) as often as I could. This blessed farm and the lovely family that owns it is the inspiration for the Aldburg paradise in which the pHORSEuasion flashbacks will happen...

I learned Icelandic, and I organized that the summer after I finished my MA (like literally 48 hours after defending), I flew to Iceland to soak in its unique horse culture.

First, I volunteered at the annual horse competition, Landsmót Hestamanna, and saw some of the THE most impressively gorgeous horses the country had to offer, in a surreal scenery, and under a sun that Would. Not. Set.

Then I went on a 1-month intensive language course in Reykjavík, slept little, did too much grammar, broke up with an annoying boyfriend, and tried speaking with locals. But after that the real thing started.

I moved to a sheep breeding farm in the North East (aka edge of the world, super isolated, big nearby metropolis is a 300 people village), that had been looking for an au-pair to help with farm work, guesthouse work, babysitting, and horse riding. I stayed there for only two months, but oh boyy. I don't even know where to start with sharing this experience.

💠If there are any pet names thrown around, it's the typical babe or baby, which isn't inherently bad or unattractive! You get just as hot and bothered when he's whispering "hold on, baby" in your ear, and give in just as much when he drags out the a in "babe" and pouts into your neck.

💠But it's not long before you start to venture out first...

💠DO NOT call him by his full name/real name! Not only does he not like it, but he will freeze and assume he's done something wrong :( Or maybe he did and that's why you said it, but even so, he doesn't really want to associate any of that anxiety with you 

💠What he can definitely get used to is "love". It's a gentle approach when he's upset. A soft but concerned 'hey, love' or 'what's wrong, love' will really help soothe him, and help coax out whatever is wrong with him ❤️

💠If you speak another language, especially if it's your native, literally just say anything that sounds pretty. It could be the word apple- not like he'll know anyway! Say it sweet enough and he'll get all blushy and melt against you ❤ Though, he does know a little bit of Spanish and French, so you can't get away with quite as much there, but hey! It might encourage him to come up with his own pet name for you from one of those two, especially if they aren't the languages you speak!

💠Coming up with pet names that stem from a person's used name is hard, especially when it's so short 🤔 But at some point, you'll get the grand idea of calling him "Tone" or "Tones"

💠He… does not like it. But you seem to have fun saying it… so he'll allow it. It'll grow on him after awhile, in a sort of annoying but endearing way. It's playful and cheery, and he responds to it regardless, soooo have fun with it 😘

💠He might not really follow your lead for a while, but rest assured it's because he's trying to figure a few out, and also waiting for the right time and place to just- casually say it? It's just a bit new and unnatural to him, and he doesn't want to sound silly, ya know? Or worse, accidentally call you something you don't like :( But even if you don't like it or it's something triggering, don't hold it against him! He didn't know and he's trying!

💠If any of those new pet names ever do find their way out, it'll most likely be a heat-of-the-moment sort of deal 😉

💠Right off the bat, he's only using your real name in social situations, but it won't necessarily be any "personal" or particularly, uh, "affectionate" names, so to speak.

💠It's probably in a triumphant asshole sort of way, how comfortable he is calling you "babe" or "baby". So confident, in fact, that even when you're mad at him, he's de-escalating the situation with a nonchalant babe. and taking your hands in his. It's probably both endearing and irritating, and might even escalate the situation instead.

💠When he gets a little more comfortable, it'll still be the same thing, except now he's dragging out the a and pouting it into your neck until you give in to whatever he's pleading about 🙄

💠But it gets you comfortable with calling him babe or baby right back, and he gets just as smug hearing from you.

💠But when he's actually comfortable, and absolutely in love with you, he'll start branching out a lot more!

💠"Honey" will be a popular one! To get your attention before he asks you a (possibly loaded) question, or when he's brushing off one of your own loaded questions. With gentle affection when you're upset, and when he's trying to get your attention to make sure you're still okay when you're tied up and trembling 😌 It's a very homey and domestic pet name, and just as sweet as you!

💠"Dear" is sarcastic 😒 and may earn him a playful slap when he answers you with that annoying "yes, dear." Sometimes he just wants to get you a little irritated at him, and sometimes he just can't help his passive-aggressive sarcasm!

💠Occasionally, he may playfully call you love or lovely 🥰 Even an occasional "love of my life," but that's probably when he's drunk and/or in trouble ❤️‍🩹 Call him love or my love right back, and he'll look at you with that goofy grin and snuggle into you!

💠This man knows a few languages, fairly fluent in one or two, and/or is at least in the middle of learning one. He may jokingly call you a new term of endearment he's learned, but if you like it, he'll actually keep it! Bonus: he might just straight up start whispering in that same language about everything he's going to do to you in your ear while a hand sneaks between your legs 😏 Of course, you might not know what he's saying aside from melting at that one word you've heard him call you every so often, but it's incredibly hot nonetheless!

💠If your native language isn't English, don't be afraid to try out a few of your own terms of endearment on him! Especially if it's not a language he knows! Of course he'll figure out what it is very soon, so you can't get away with random words that just sound pretty unless you're trying to be silly (or maybe even passive-aggressive)! Plus, he'll definitely pick up on whatever word you choose, and/or pick another one out to call you! And, in this case, it probably won't be long before he can have basic conversation with you, too 💛

💠He's probably not very keen on trying to come up with a name that stems from your used name unless it's something he can easily shorten, but even then, he kinda just likes and prefers to say your name if that's the case! 

💠He's also not very keen on you trying to do that with his name. He likes hearing his name on your lips! He's more receptive to that playful chime of "Tone" or "Tones" than his younger self, but it's probably not something that'll be used often. Honestly, if you want something for an occasional sweet and playful pet name, just combine his name with other pet names! Tony-love and Tony-dear will actually become some of his favorites!

💠"What is it, babygirl?" He'll ask you so innocently when you sob his name, with a playful nip at your thigh to give your abused clit.. He'll say it smooth and low into your ear as part of his command for you to cum, or might use your real name if he's just as in the moment. 💠And speaking of names he doesn't like, don't say his full name 😔 Still hates it just as much, and while you may get, ahem, "rewarded" even when you call him one of those annoying names, he'll make sure you have no incentive to keep on with that one! Even if you like to see him irritated and suffering, he'll just flat-out ignore you (which, in turn, might cause him to accidentally ignore it in any government situations where his full name is accidentally used 😅)
