Riddle + Yuu’s telepathy for an hour+ Floyd next to him= Why is Riddle looking like he is about to have another Ob?

He now know Floyd is into him, more wild if Floyd has the same 18+ thoughts as Jade. Riddle’s hair is becoming white and his cheeks go as red as his hair because Floyd is also thinking of the most domestic scenarios with him.

He can’t catch a fucking break.

Worse if Yuu and Jade are there. Holy fuck Riddle will die.

When you begged Riddle to let you test your new power and transfer your telepathy over for just a class period, he was just trying to be a good friend.

And he was mildly curious how your mind reading powers worked. He was under the assumption that you had to choose a specific person and listen into their thoughts for it to work. Which made your predicament with Jade all the more humorous to him. If you were so bothered by it all, then why did you listen in?

My cute little Riddle~ Aaaah, you're so bright. So red. I love your red hair, your red cheeks when your mad. Should I call you Goldfishie again? To piss you off? So you can yell at me with those pretty gray eyes and voice? Aha, maybe I should~

I think I should beg for the Prefect's forgiveness after this. I am so, so sorry. I didn't realize how bad it was.

Riddle had no clue how you handled the influx of noise, color, and feeling bashing into your head all day. It was like having a horn ringing straight into his ear while a truck's headlights flashed right in his eyes.

Even worse than that? He could make out the singular, most irritating noise, louder than the rest.

"Uh, Riddle?"

Riddle took a deep breath, closing his eyes and turning towards Silver with a polite smile.

"Yes, Silver?"

Silver opened his mouth, closed it again as he paused, and opened it again.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes." Riddle ignored the heat pooling under his face. "Why do you ask?"

"You're incredibly red right now. I think even your hair looks pink compared to your face."

Riddle made a strangled sounding noise as he buried his head into his arms and hid against the desk.

"Riddle?" Silver sounded concerned, and Riddle could sense his hands hovering over him, like he wasn't sure if Riddle needed a pat on the back, or to be left alone.

"I'm fine, I just need a moment—"

"Little Goldfishie~"

Riddle bolted up, his head nearly smacking against Floyd's chin based on the way the teal-haired man felt backwards.

"Wow! Cool it Goldfishie!" Aw, he's so cute! "Just tryin' to say hi~"

The image of himself in Floyd's arms and lap, nuzzled up against each other as the other contentedly played with his hands flashed in his head.

My goldfishie! My little red tyrant! My Riddle! Mine, mine mineminemineminemine—

"NO I'M NOT!"

The room went silent, everyone looking over at the group of three. Noticing that Riddle and Floyd were interacting, everyone shrugged and resumed their conversations after a moment.

"Uh, what?" Floyd looked and sounded confused. Now that Riddle was paying attention to him though, he could make out a soft look in his eye.

Aw, are you red 'cause you're sick? Is my mean little mate sick?

Mate? Mate?! MATE! OH GODS NO!

Do I gotta take you to the nurse? I can do it! Anything for my future mate! Aha~ I love my mate, I'll take such good care of you.

Riddle was met with another image of Floyd and himself in another...sweet scenario. One where Floyd was watching him sleep in with one of the most tender looks Riddle had ever imagined on Floyd's face. As he slept, Floyd played with the coral colored ring on his left ring finger.

"Nothing! It's nothing! I'm fine!" Riddle scrambled out of his chair, face still warm and his stomach nauseous.

"I think I'm just feeling a bit feverish, I think I will step out for a bit—"

"You want someone to take ya to the nurse?" Floyd asked, while Silver nodded along. "I can take ya, come on Lil' Goldfishie—"

"I DON'T NEED AN ESCORT!" Riddle shut his mouth as soon as he opened it, some of the other students giving him a look for his volume.

Aw what, come on! Floyd frowned, though it breifly was hidden by one of Floyd's lazy smiles as he shrugged.

"Whatever you say~" Floyd cooed, his eyes following Riddle as he rushed out of the classroom. Riddle could feel his entire body heating up, like Floyd knew that he knew.

Once he was out of the classroom, he near bolted to the nearest bathroom. Locking the door behind him, Riddle turned to look at himself in the mirror.

He was indeed his characteristic shade of red. Instead of his usual angry expression, though, was one of fluster and breathlessness.

Riddle let out a small, high-pitched whimper as he turned for the faucet for some cold water, splashing it on his face. He looked up at the mirror again, cheeks still bright red, and let out a whine.

I will never make light of you again, Prefect, I promise.

I’m gonna need to see Dad Joe with two little ones that he has to take to training camp because Mom has something come up.

Daddy Daughter Day|| Joe Burrow x reader

•summary: Joe has to take his young daughters to training camp with him for the day after you have something come up

"Come on Josie girl." Joe spoke sweetly to his three year old daughter as he brought her out to the practice field with him. His other daughter, 6 month old Hazel, was being held in his arms as the three of them walked out to the practice field.

It never crossed Joe's mind that he'd have both of his daughters at camp with him today, but here he was. You had something come up today where you couldn't bring the girls with you. Your sister is expecting her first baby. She has an OB appointment today but her car is in the shop, and her husband is out of town, so you offered to take her to her appointment. Which means, Joe is stuck bringing the girls with him to training camp today.

The coaches didn't really get a choice if he brought his kids with him or not (and neither did Joe, really). But none of them had a problem with the Burrow girls attending practice with Joe for a day. Joe made the decision to not participate today so that he could focus on his daughters. The three of them walked over to the sidelines, Josie making sure to say hello to everyone that she saw as Hazel flashed gummy smiles at all of the players. Joe grinned at his daughters as they interacted with his teammates. Every one seemed to be in a great mood today, the Burrow girls being in attendance definitely helped with boosting their moods.

As they reached the sidelines, Joe laid the pink blanket on the ground that you had given him to take with him. Once the blanket was spread out as far as it would go, Joe sat down on the ground with Josie and Hazel. Josie watched the field in awe as her Uncle Tee and Uncle Ja'Marr were running drills. Joe gently held onto the sides of Hazels tummy as he stood her up on his thighs, letting the infant bounce around on her toes a bit. The three of them watched the players practice for about a half hour before Josie wanted a snack.

"Daddy," the little girl said, pushing out her bottom lip as she reached out to rub Joe's scarred knee, "My tummy's hungry."

"Your tummy's hungry? That's not good, do you want a snack?" Joe asked in a tone he only used around kids. The little girl nodded. He reached for the diaper bag that was full of snacks, bottles, diapers, and wipes. He put the bag down in front of Josie and opened it, pulling out the variety of snacks you packed for the girls and Joe.

"It looks like we've got goldfish, animal crackers, some puffs, protein bars, but those are for daddy." Joe said, taking a cookies and cream protein bar out of the bag and putting it to the side. "What sounds good sweetie?"

"Mmm," Josie said, bringing her finger up to her mouth, thinking about what snack she wanted. "Goldfish."

"Good choice." Joe said, grabbing a pack of goldfish from the bag and opening it before handing it to his daughter. Josie thanked her dad in a sweet tone before she started eating her snack. As Josie munched away at her goldfish, Hazel started to grow restless in Joe's hands. Her little feet kicked wildly as she started to cry. Joe frowned and took Hazel off of his thighs, situating her so that he was now cradling her in the crook of his arm.

"Is your tummy hungry too, Hazel, huh?" he cooed sweetly at the baby as he pulled out a bottle of milk from the diaper bag. He brought the nipple of the bottle to his daughters lips, making her cries stop instantly as he happily drank her milk. "There," Joe sighed, smiling down at the infant in his arms, "All better."

As his daughters ate, Joe watched his teammates practice. Part of him wished he could be out on the field with them right now, but he was enjoying every second of being on the sidelines with his daughters instead.

Soon enough, the day was over. The rest of practice went by quicker than Joe thought it would. As players started to exit the field, Ja'Marr, Tee, and Sam all came over to the sidelines to see the Burrow girls before they left the practice field.

"Uncle 'Marr!" Josie squealed as she saw Ja'Marr walking up to them. The three year old took off running. Once she was close enough, she jumped into Ja'Marr's arms, giggling happily as he held onto her.

"You're gettin' so big Josie girl," Ja'Marr said looking at his "niece". He smiled as he looked at the baby girl in Joe's arms, "So is your sissy."

"She's growing like a weed." Joe said with a smile as he kissed Hazels chubby cheek, making the infant flash her gummy smile at her uncles. The guys broke out into a chorus of "awe's" at the babys smile. Sam reached out for Hazel, which Joe happily handed her over to his best friend. The baby girl looked so small in Sam's arms, it was actually quite sweet.

Joe, Sam, Ja'Marr, and Tee all stayed after practice for a bit. All of them taking turns driving Josie around on the cart that was next to them on the sidelines. Josie giggled happily beside in Tee's lap as Joe drove around the field, the wide grin never leaving his face as he listened to the sound of his daughters laughter.

Despite today being unplanned, Joe had the best time with his daughters. The only thing that could possibly make it any better would be having you there, that way Joe could have all of his girls at practice with him.

Do we know exactly why yuu is called 'trickster'? Pretty dumb question ik I actually don't know if this has been answered alread

The nicknames in TWST are not usually explained. The main exceptions I can think of are “Monsieur Dent-de-Lion” for Ruggie in book 5, “Baby Seal” for Grim in book 4, “Goldfish” for Riddle in Floyd’s School Uniform vignette, and “Crabby” for Ace in the second volume of the light novel. We have to draw on assumptions for basically the rest of them. I’m guessing that “Trickster” is meant to allude to Yuu’s implied strategic nature despite passing off as plain and unassuming by appearance alone.

I believe the closest we get to learning the origins of Yuu’s nickname is in the first Happy Beans Day event; in it, Yuu is part of a ploy to trick the Monster/Beast team in order to seize the golden harp the other team is protecting. However, Rook is calling them Trickster long before the final deception is revealed in chapter 13, in which he remarks that Yuu is truly deserving of the nickname.

The issue I have with it is that I think Yuu has done very little to maintain it 💦 Sometimes Yuu has flashes of intelligence (like realizing that the contracts aren’t invincible). However, outside of the prologue (guiding Grim on where to shoot fire and formulating a plan to take out the OB In the mines) and maybe that small segment in Happy Beans Day (though most of the plan was Jade’s), we rarely ever see Yuu being that much of a tactician or trickster. Rather, they are often strung along on other people’s plans or doing minor or coincidental things (like making noise to prevent Leona from sleeping/stealing the magic carpet and crashing into Octavinelle) to push the narrative along while letting other characters do the Big Brain work for them (it was Leona and/or Azul who actively orchestrated the plots). I guess the argument could be made that maybe Yuu helps in tricking others (Endless Halloween Night, distracting Jamil with board games while Kalim is interrogated in book 4), but it doesn’t come off as a particularly strong or defining trait of theirs if several other characters also engage in the same acts (Floyd, Azul, Malleus, Lilia, etc.) or Yuu had little involvement in planning the deception.

I just think it’s a wasted opportunity to give Yuu such a cool nickname but then never fully commit to showing us why Yuu has “earned” that title. I guess it implies that Rook, who is an observant character, sees more in Yuu than being generically nice or cheering about friendship. However, it rings… somewhat hollow if characters are just saying Yuu is smart (Leona + a few others also have lines that express similar sentiments) or telling Yuu what to do without Yuu actually doing anything smart or actually planning a ploy themselves 😭 It’s “telling” us what Yuu is rather than “showing” us. This is likely done for the self-insert aspect of TWST/to make players feel important, but I don’t think it’s good from an actual writing standpoint.

✩ when he was really young he said his f’s as s’s so instead of “goldfish” he would say “goldsis” ask him about it and he gets embarrassed “no i didn’t” “mom stop telling everybody that”

✩ believed in santa until he was 10 tried to play it off like he always knew when he found out , he also denies this

✩ his junior year he backed into his dads car one morning on his way to school when it was raining and left without saying anything only to ditch class and come back home to confess bc he felt so guilty

✩ has a vertical scar on the front of his right upper thigh about midway from falling off a skateboard when one of his childhood friends was trying to teach him tricks at a local park he had to get ten stitches … he also got a concussion due to lack of helmet marco told him: “i told you so” because he did and ofc jean didn’t listen

✩ he has always hated strawberries but he loves strawberry ice cream

✩ avid pickle hater

✩ since marco died his sleep schedule is absolutely shot to the point where he considers 4 hours a good nights sleep + many times it will take place in intervals

✩ jean started drawing (or trying to) the moment he learned how to properly hold a pen (4 years old) but even when he only had a palmer’s grasp he would constantly be scribbling. if they were doing any form of art projects at school he was the only one still interested when all his other classmates attention had shifted.

✩ when he was six, he got bored of drawing on paper so he drew on his one of the walls of his parents house when they were cooking dinner. they were livid but that was how they first recognized his true talent

✩ jean is a huge softie for animals. before they got scout, they had another golden retriever named clover. she got out of their house when he was at a baseball game and was hit by a car. he cried everyday for two months after she passed. he will get a huge strain in his throat if he sees pictures of her to this day, has to fight not to tear up

✩ every year for christmas he gets his mom a pair of lace gloves this tradition started when he was young (this will be elaborated on later)

I'm watching A is for and uhm i'm seeinga lot of people comparing it to ab saying it's the same or very similar idk... feelsmore like obs or atleast from what i'm seeing there looks to be more similarities with that show like the va's and that one goldfish..character.....idk their names and i dont wanna check ;-; yeha but that cracker tjing with the brown stuff idk the name help...it sounds like the button from bfb in obs IF U KNOW WHICHONE IM TALKIGN AVOUT

Also the style kinda reminds me of sacri's toooo also the a character reminds md of happy star :3 kind of feels like what one of happy star's potential shows would be like..... imight be missing something here or it's justme cuz it really does feel like that instead of..ab...... orr maybe i'm a fake fan ;-; noooo!!! But i kinda don't see how it's like ab ..

I do like the show though i think there was a kfc reference cuz there was a part that said flaaassshhback! it's nicee i might do gijinkas (don'ttrust me on that;-;) i have some ideas already for a few of the characters......

wish i was faster with art so that i could draw out all the ideas i have of these guys. theyre struggling but theyre still together and theyre all they have left after everything has been ruined. i love them all

its crazy how some scrapped content can make you fall in love with characters you previously gave little to no mind to. the obs b-sides are great. crayon and notebook are so so great theyd be amazing in post 7a. just trust me.

a/n: this is just something small i wanted to write. i’ve always been purposefully vague about Sunshine’s major in college but there’s definitely glimpses of what I think she studied in here. i don’t think anyone will read this but that’s okay, this is just for me

summary: A shared night of studying between the UVA crew.

The thud of your backpack colliding into the chair echoes through the space and you wince, unzipping the bag. 

"Jesus Christ, what do you have in there woman? Rocks?” Eli asks, looking up from what is very clearly his Spanish notes. Bradley glances over at you from where he’s holding the Spanish flashcards he and Eli have made for their upcoming exam. 

You shake your head, pulling out three different books. “Nope, just all my required reading for classes.” 

“You’re actually doing that?” Tommy’s voice comes from behind you. You turn, seeing him standing a bit away, backpack on his shoulders. 

“Not for that class.” You say, waving a hand as you pull the bag off the chair. “My other 300 level class.” 

“The fact that you read those at all astounds me. We gotta teach you how to skim.” Bailey says as she strides towards the table, dropping her keys on it. 

You slip into the chair as Tommy walks closer, hovering behind you. “No one said you had to read them Bailey. My brain physically will not let me skim and then I feel like I’m missing important stuff.” 

She shakes her head as she sits down in the seat at the end of the table. “You joining us Tommy or are you just gonna stand there?” 

His face lifts in a small smile as he tugs his backpack off. “Yeah, I’ll join you guys but you-” He says pointedly in your direction. “-have to be quiet.” 

You shrink down in your chair. “I will do my best to not voice all my inner thoughts.” 

“Last time, Bailey and I gave her one of those like notepads and just made her write down all her thoughts.” Madison jokes, appearing behind you. You pull your feet up into the chair, hugging your knees as your cheeks warm. 

“I’m sorry! It’s just that the material is really cool and I get excited.” Over the tops of your knees, you can see Bradley smile to himself, shaking his head. 

“Teacher’s pet.” Eli coughs, causing Bailey to chuck a pencil at his head. 

“Leave her alone.” She reprimands, causing Eli to roll his eyes. 

The table settles in silence for a few more minutes as you grab the book off the table, opening it to where you left off. 

You’ve only made it a few pages when Madison startles, reaching for her bag. “I almost forgot! I made you guys lemon bars!”

You notice movement out of the corner of your eye, looking up to see Bradley dancing in his chair. He’s got earbuds in, head bobbing along to the music, with his eyes half-closed. You straighten up, looking to see if anyone else is catching this. 

If you crane your head, you can see Madison and Bailey behind a bookshelf, talking in hushed whispers with Eli and Tommy, most definitely not doing their homework as they should be. 

You reach over to the giant box of Goldfish Madison had brought with her, grabbing one to pelt at Bradley. He flinches from the hit, looking up at you. 

“What are you doing?” You mouth.

He shrugs, giving you a goofy smile. “Dancing.” He mouths back, moving his arms to a ballroom pose and swaying. 

“You’re so fucking weird.” You mouth, causing his grin to grow even wider. 

He pulls out an earbud. “At least I embrace it.” He whispers. 

You roll your eyes, looking back down to your book. A Goldfish lands on the page, with another hitting your forehead and bouncing off to fall onto the pages of your book. “What?” You hiss, head flying back up to face Bradley. 

“Whatcha reading?” 

You hold the book up, shaking the Goldfish from it. “A dense history of the Cold War. I’m behind in this class.” 

He nods, as if that’s the most insightful observation he’s made all night. 

You look back down at your book, barely getting through half a sentence before another Goldfish lands on the page. 

You look up to Bradley giving him a look. “Dude. Some of us are trying to study.” 

He ignores the statement, still grinning. “Do you not have dance parties?” 

“Not in the library and not in front of other people.” 

“Shame.” 

You crane your head to the bookshelf, noting that your friends are still gathered over there chatting. 

“What? Desperate for someone to come back and save you so you don’t have to be alone with me?” He asks as he shoves a handful of Goldfish into his mouth. 

“What? No!” You protest, cheeks warming. You did want someone to come back over here because you struggled to behave like a normal person around Bradley, at least one that didn’t have a huge raging unrequited crush on him. “No, I just- they’ve been over there for like half an hour.” 

“Must be having a pretty engaging conversation.” 

“Apparently.” You say, returning your gaze to Bradley, to find he’s already watching you. The movement makes your cheeks blush harder, so you duck your head down, using your book to cover your face. 

“You know what I would kill for right now?” 

You chance a glance at him. “What?” 

He chuckles. “Dude, I would kill for an In-N-Out burger.” 

You nod. “I would agree, that does sound really good.” 

He raises an eyebrow. “You’ve had In-N-Out? Most people around here have never heard of it. And slash or think I’m crazy for liking it so much.” 

You shrug, picking up your sticky note to place it in the book. “Yeah, my family’s pretty big so I’ve got family spread out through both coasts.” 

“No way. Any in california?” 

You nod, closing the book shut. “Yeah, I’ve got some in Southern California, kind of near LA?” 

“You ever been to San Diego?” 

You nod. “Yeah, a couple times as a kid, just to go to museums and stuff. Why?” 

“No reason, that’s just where I’m from.” 

“You lucky s-o-b, being from somewhere that cool.” Eli comments, causing you to startle. 

“I hadn’t realized you were deciding to join us.” You comment as he sits down at the table. 

“Yeah, well I can’t leave my boy Bradley to suffer here alone with you too long.”

The words earn him a smack on the back of the head from Bailey as she walks past. “Leave her alone.” 

“I’m pretty sure I saw her over here throwing Goldfish at him so... no.” 

Tommy snorts, snack from the vending machine in hand as he sits down in his chair. “She’s too nice to do that.”

The sound of a textbook being snapped shut grabs your attention, causing you to look up from your the book in your hands. Bradley sighs, stretching out, and you force yourself to look away from the way his shoulders strain against the material of his fraternity t-shirt. 

“Well, I’m done for the night.” He says, pushing the Spanish textbook towards his bag. 

You nod, feeling yourself yawn as you look at the time on your watch. 

10:40pm

Tommy had bowed out an hour ago, Madison and Bailey following. Eli hadn’t been far behind them, leaving twenty minutes after with a ruffle of Bradley’s hair and a see you at the house. 

You probably should head out too, especially with it getting late and the words on the page beginning to run together, but you desperately wanted to finish what you were reading before leaving the library and having to restart once you were home and fed and in your warm bed. 

Which sounded more appealing that finishing the last 37 pages of this book.

“M’kay. Goodnight.” You say tiredly, rubbing your eye. He zips up his backpack, slinging the bag over his shoulder. 

“Do you want a ride?” He asks, picking up his keys from the table. 

“I’m good, thank you though. I’ll just walk back to my house when I finish this. I only have 37 pages left anyways.” 

He hesitates, eyeing you uncertainly. “Are you sure? I can wait for you.” 

You nod. “Yeah, it’s fine. I’ve walked back later anyways.” 

He sits back down in his chair, fiddling with the watch on his wrist. You look up at him curiously, tilting your head. “What are you doing?” 

He shrugs. “Waiting for you.” 

You sigh, moving to straighten up. “You don’t have to.”

“Yeah, I know, but I’d hate for something to happen to you. It’s late and you’re half-asleep.”

“Nothing would happen to me, I’m perfectly capable of walking back tp my house.” You say, even though you do hate walking home this late at night, always clutching your keys between your fingers. 

He shrugs again. “I don’t think you aren't, but for my peace of mind, I want to make sure you get home okay.” 

You swallow, the words causing your heart to flutter. Bradley’s concern that you made it home safely warms you, even though you knew it was more to avoid Tommy yelling at him if something happened to you than real care or concern. 

You nod, sldiidng your book in your open backpack as Bradley raises an eyebrow. “What’re you doing?” He asks, parroting your question from earlier. 

“Packing up.” 

“I told you I could wait.” 

You shrug, zipping the bag shut. “Yeah, but I’m tired and falling asleep. I’m not gonna get anything productive done anyways.” 

He nods, standing up from the table as you do. There’s a silence that settle between the two of you as you exit the large building. “I parked by the business building, so it’ll be a bit of a walk.” He says as you cross campus, you following behind him. 

“That’s okay. Thanks for giving me a ride home, by the way.” 

He waves you off. “No worries at all. You’re on the way back anyways.” 

“I’m really not.” You mutter. 

He hums. “What?” 

“Nothing.” 

Another silence falls between the two of you, staying that way as you approach the parking lot. 

“Nice car.” You mention as you approach the Bronco parked towards the back of the lot. 

“Thanks, it was my Dad’s. Takes a lot of upkeep but it’s worth it to have him around.” 

You want to comment on his words, say something comforting or cool that will encourage him to keep sharing with you, but your brain draws a blank as you climb in the car. 

The car ride is silent, save for your few directions on how to get to your house. It’s not far from campus and all too soon, he’s pulling up in front of your home. All the lights are off, you note as you pull your seatbelt off, meaning your roommate is already in bed or gone for the night. 

“Thanks for the ride home.” 

He gives you a soft smile. “No worries. I’ll see you around, yeah?” 

You nod, pulling the door open and slipping out of the car. You trek across the front lawn and up the steps to your house, pulling your keys out of your backpack as you do so. It’s only after you’re inside the house, front door shut and locked, that you realize his car is just pulling away from the curb. 

He waited until you got inside safely to drive away.

Rewatching OBS... (Watched the first 5 episodes)

Some thoughts

Really wish these episodes had captions. I cannot make out what Bowler is saying with that Loser-impression of his.

I feel Bowl's arc would have been much more impactful if her flaws were more pronounced? She's more bitter sure, but here most of the times she got upset were to keep her team in line or just being disappointed about losing? I know Notebook is a massive prick, but the arc makes it very clear that it's about Bowl learning to let go of the past and mellow out... If you watched the lore up to this point, you would realize she doesn't really do much. The size of the cast doesn't really help, even if a good portion of them die/disappear anyway.

Speaking of which... I like Notebook, but I feel having them not do much with their "leadership" later that same episode was a let down. I don't know.. I know the whole thing is that Notebook isn't as rational and above it all as they think. The start was a great step towards making them interesting and then nothing proceeded to be done with it. It probably wouldn't have saved them from elimination, but looking back I really do wish Notebook got to do more in general. The interactions with Cup are really funny knowing what would happen in RIBS(OBS 2 especially). Even if being a douche to Cup is really mostly what they did up to that point. At least I can rest easy knowing that RIBS would have given Notebook another chance... :']

As far as "object show characters designated as bland goes"... Cup's story is cliche sure, but that's not inherently bad and I think it works here. His role as "a guy trying to get by" works compared to how eccentric and dysfunctional everyone else is.

I know OBS is a soft reboot, but it's good to know that at least the events in late CB2 weren't completely retconned out. Which moments were retconned anyway? I know the circumstances of the Uno Card changed a bit and Notebook's page powers got written out... Is that it?

I really don't like Goldfish and Palm Tree. They are joke characters, and not really funny ones at that. Their jokes have little to no variation to spice things up. There are more funnier characters who aren't a complete waste of space. Space that could be used to developing characters like Bowl and Notebook more.

Was Triangle's absence EVER explained? I know she was kind of annoying, but I at least expected an explanation like what we would have gotten for Lego later on. Did she die?

Hey hey~ I have this random idea. Hear me out:

What if Riddle's father is Azul's step dad and Riddle's parents are divorced because Riddle's father hate how his mother treated Riddle. So instead of son of two famous doctors of Queendom of Heart, Riddle is the son of a famous doctor and a lawyer!

But it means instead of fully human, Riddle is actually half merman. His mer form is quite unique, since he looks like a goldfish. You know, the aquarium, man made, kind.

It also means Riddle is Azul's step brother. But because of this marriage Riddle finally got a good mother that will spoil him. Since we don't know when did Azul's mother divorced and remarried, it makes Riddle's friendship with Trey and Che'nya to be questionable depend on the timeline of this marriage.

Either way, I want to see whatever stupid things that happen during their childhood. Heck, it can means two OB didn't happen in canon if it happen!

NGL, I imagined Azul's step-dad to actually be a Shark mer(tiger shark specifically bc yes)... Like a big, bulky, absolute UNIT of a man with scars and all that... But he's actually just puppy energy all across the board. Azul accepts this one because he treats Mrs Ashengrotto like the queen she is U-Ub

Funny thing... I've made a smol repartition of mers in twst, mostly bc of those NPC sprites. So unlike most expectations, as appearance... In this specific scenario, Riddle would fall in the same box as Azul, which means a lot more human like features rather than fish, but still not at obviously as top fully human and bottom fish. :v

YES! He would be a goldfish... But more leaning onto the gradients and spots variations of black and white on that bright red. He might just have one big black spot on his eye in the shape of the heart as a treat (fun fact, those goldfishes are names Kalico or Shubukini(hope I spelled it right)) ;3

Maybe the divorce in between the og Rosehearts couple happens after Riddle's 8... Mostly since around then his mom finds out about him Sneaking out to play. And while his father fully gave his permission for that, it was clear that a big ass argument broke down and here we go with the divorce papers. :v

Poor lil Riddle didn't have any idea why his papa suddenly said they will go on a trip to grandma, but he never saw grandma so he's curious to see big shark memaw.

I imagine first the grandma nagging Mr Rosehearts since 'I told you that woman was no good! Thank God the child has your genes!'. Yep... One belt later and she's ready to tare down the ex-Mrs Rosehearts to shreds. :'3

I don't know why, but I want Romanian like memaws... Like they take no shits and would destroy anything in their path if you ever dare to make them mad. Also in most cases they make good food and gib you money.

And that's how lil Riddle meets lil Azul, who was also on a trip to his grandma. They bond over the fact that 'My parents fought and now I'm on a trip here.' 'No way! Mine too!'.

And that's how Mrs Ashengrotto and Mr Rosehearts meet. And bc my man fought to hell and back for his custody, he decided to help out Mrs Ashengrotto. (more like this octo-lady yanked him and put him to represent her in court and that's when cupid decided to act)

Riddle also doesn't really grasp that well the general mer culture at first. So when he first saw Azul his mind went like static before he decided 'Yep... I'm gonna talk with this guy! He looks nice!' meanwhile Azul had a crying fest since 'who tf is this guy and why is he so nice?!'. Riddle thought he scared him so he starts crying as well and that's when the parents first meet and realise what exactly went down in between these 2.

For now, I imagine bc of their previous wrecks of a marriage, Mr Rosehearts and Mrs Ashengrotto have an engagement period. But like it's so long and both are so comfy and natural around each other that everyone just assumes they married in a more private way. Sometimes even Azul and Riddle forget about it. They once asked Mr Rosehearts where it was his wedding ring and man looked for it for HOURS, just cuz he bought the genuine question.

And school... Oh god school... Just having one overly bullied kid and one kid who never even knew the concept of public schools is just asking for disaster.

First day: 15 kids got collared. Riddle had one kid bite his arm and he couldn't bite back cuz the teach came in. When asked about it, Azul said that those guys picked on him and made Riddle 'smol'.

Later they also meet the twins. Mostly since Riddle and Floyd picked an epic fight and some snitch just had to tell the teach. Azul personally wanted to strangle them, bc he made a bet with Jade on who throws the table first.

But they bond! Both twins find Azul very interesting (and squishy), so they declared they will stick with him. Even though Floyd and Riddle fight daily. Like by now it's the norm for them to square up. It's their love language. U-U

Probably the twins are very confused at the parents situation for the 2 since 'they live together but they aren't married, but still they still kiss in the morning and we call them mama/papa and they don't seem to mind, but still they aren't married.' like... Their lil 10 year old brains can't wrap around that.

So they drew the conclusion that 'oh no, they be cheating with each other!'. Cue another long talk and explanation on why this is fine.

Besides fighting in academics, Riddle and Azul would have a competition over almost anything when smol. They would annoy each other bc they live for that. Also blackmail galore. Azul can't go out bc Riddle would snitch on him about the lipstick incident, while Riddle can't go out as well bc Azul said he will tell about who ate the last piece of cake... Yep... Fun times :'D

As they still get older... They still forget that their parents are 'just engaged', so there is A LOT of confusion in between people when these 2 introduce themselves and mention that they are brothers as well. Like there is some mental gymnastics in here and some may assume the worse. :'3

First time on land is also some hilarious thing bc poor Riddle forgot again that bc since he's half human, he can switch in between forms without potion(his downside is that he must avoid water at all costs). So Riddle just stays on a rock and looks at Azul like he's about to grow 2 heads or something.

"what are you waiting for?" "I don't have a potion..." "You need a potion?" "RIDDLE I SWEAR-"

NRC is also not ready for these 2.

They get in different dorms and since they knew their pops went to NRC, they also ask in Which dorm he was. Watch them ask 'were you in Heartslabyul or Octavinelle?' only to be hit with a 'I was in Ignihyde'. :'3

Also Trey is stunned to see Riddle in here. Mostly since their connection got stranded since that day the ex Rosehearts couple fought and divorced.

Still, Azul and Riddle often eat lunch together. Since the only ones who are actually classmates are Riddle and Jade, the twins also tag along.

One time surely Floyd got a punch in the stomach from Riddle and bro went all giggly mode since apparently... Out of all the possible ways of showing affection... Raw violence was their way... No one knew of this except Azul and Jade who find it enderdaining. But at least now savanaclaw dudes know they shouldn't be picking a fight with the red shortie :v

Unlike in cannon, Riddle becomes Dormhead in his second year, Azul becoming in his first. So first year was establishing the monstro lounge (and getting that sibling discount).

I imagine that in order to learn to share, their parents gave to Azul and Riddle a jar and went all like 'you 2 will share all the money in here. You gain money? You put it in the jar. You take money only from the jar.' Currently, the Jar is hidden under Riddle's bed, since the twins somehow cracked Azul's safe code for the valuts(it's called a hammer, Azul...) and weekly these 2 go over the income.

Second year is when the whole cannon thing happens and hoo Boi.

Riddle first catches Grim and contemplates if maybe he should use the Raccoon-cat on the twins. The headmaster said no tho :<

And then the freshmen... Oh the freshmen... No collar can seem to even hold down Adeuce. Jade suggested homicide and Riddle took it into account.

Azul came once to visit only to see Riddle chasing down Ace and bonking him with his staff.

In chapter 2, Azul also calls Riddle like: 'look... Kingscholar wants to sabotage my boyfriend, but he also is paying me some good ice cold cash for it... So I'm giving you half of the money if you bust him.' 'Give 65%'. '55% and dinner privileges...' 'Deal...' 'also... What did Shroud do?' 'it's Malleus-' 'SINCE WHEN YOU SMOOCH DRACONIA-' beeeeep! 'ASHENGROTTO GET YOUR ASS BACK ON THE PHONE!'

Yeah... Azul would never hear the end of THAT...

And while Riddle's ob doesn't happen, mostly since he got distanced from his mother, the source of his strictness and messed up view on the rules... Azul still had his piece of bullying, no matter what. Soooo :3

Chap 3 is more like Riddle realising that Adeuce messed up bad. He tries to talk Azul out of this, but it falls on deaf ears. In the first year this seemed bearable, but Riddle drew a line this year since it became messed up. That's mainly why he helped Yuu in here.

It gets messy, but that's Azul's wake-up to reality. At least he mends things first with Riddle, mostly cuz siblings! Yay! As if they weren't at each other's throats minutes ago. :D

By the end of the chapter, Riddle treats Yuu and Jack to dinner with money from the jar, knowing full well those are Azul's money as well. >:3

At the start of chap 4, when everyone is leaving for winter holiday, the braincell gang find out that Azul and Riddle are some kind of sibling and that's why Riddle's staying in. Adeuce's collective braincell just let out a big bang explosion at that info. Since Riddle didn't go with them at all to the museum (he tended to dorm duties), Adeuce were pretty much 'Dormhead is a fish?!'

Yep... Someone ace was kicked through the mirror that day.

Scarabia arc is mostly unchanged at the base. Just add in some smol Florid moments and Jamil losing his shit a bit less, since Riddle was at least a good student and if he rubs on Kalim, that may be beneficial.

Pom pom arc is also the same. :v

But then we have chap 6! Hoo boi... Chap 6.

Just Riddle losing his shit, mainly at Malleus cuz 'what do you mean your boyfriends got kidnapped and you are sitting here like a plant?!' Malleus just shrugs. He knows they would be ok. :3

Trey thinking finally Riddle would not chase after danger again, only to be meet with Floyd coming in since apparently Riddle desemned him to watch over Heartslabyul while he's gone.

Trey is both hurt and concerned as fuck-

Just Idia receiving a full slap across the face he plummets into the ground.

After the whole ordeal, Riddle tells Azul that he has very poor taste in men. And that comes from someone who's dating FLOYD of all people.

I imagine that there is a serious time gap in between chap 6 and 7, so that's where I'll pull the actual wedding in between the parents. So it comes like a big shock for everyone when they find out these 2's parents weren't actually married.

Idia having war flashbacks about the wedding, but Azul told him his parents want to meet him and Malleus. Now it's worse. Doesn't help that Riddle gives them the side eye after the whole STIX ordeal. :3

I imagine Idia probably going more whiter than is biologically possible when he sees Mr Rosehearts. Like man is towering over him, being taller than Malleus too, and you tell him that man is the biological dad of the red shortie-

Malleus tries his best to make a good first impression. He fails because he can't get social cues... :'3

And you bet Riddle's just poking at Azul like 'You can't go back into the pot... Mama expects both of us to be here'.

i recognize these are unpopular opinions here, but to hell with it let's shake some salt.

i adored jang bong hwan (and their theme song is a bop, i still loop it on spotify), shin hye sun's incredible performance, the maid sidekicks, and when it was doing comedy it was 100

but jesus christ the political plots were such a gd chore to get through. i felt like someone was frankensteining a wacky and wild fusion sageuk (that was fun! and enjoyable!) with a palace drama that was as engaging as watching overnight oats ferment. the jo family was annoying. the kim family was annoying. it was just tedious machination after machination and none of it was particularly imaginative or compelling (and, like. i made it through princess weiyoung with 0 fastforwarding so clearly i can deal with circular palace politics). i was so annoyed by consort jo. and super unpopular opinion, but the male lead did absolutely nothing for me in this drama either and i found him really unpalatable for a good chunk of the show (which is wild, because the actor plays one of my favorite MLs in another drama)

and the ending...sort of forgot to include the title character for a good chunk of it. bong hwan was done so dirty in terms of character resolution and the romance post-transmigration came off kind of yikes for me with kim so young returning (also the body horror component of someone regaining consciousness/agency in their now pregnant body i just. if you're going to include these elements address them????)

idk it had some high notes and it was really charming at the beginning of the drama. but then it spiraled down a well (that fucking well. oy.)

our beloved summer

ON PAPER THIS IS EVERYTHING I LOVE. second chance romances are my favorites. bickering couples are my favorites. having to work with the ex is my favorite. i loved the 3/4 of the main actors that i knew from other dramas (kim sung cheol is a particular favorite!), the OST is amazing (another set of songs i still loop on spotify!), and the art direction and acting were also great. i remember really enjoying the first half-ish of the show.

but it totally lost me in the second half with the writing. im trying to remember specifics, because it's been over a year since i've watched it, but i recall the distinct impression that the couple was really setting themselves up for the same shit down the road regarding their communication, their differing emotional needs, and their other issues. at the end when they revealed they were getting married my first reaction wasnt YAY LOVE but rather oh fuck not again. i left watching the show thinking both the leads would be better off if they tried dating other people-- it felt like they outgrew the other and the show didnt do a good enough job of convincing me that they would be able to make it work this time around. from ep 11ish onwards, it was frustrating and annoying to watch and the only reason i made it through all 16 eps is because i was watching it with a friend

i also remember there was this totally "?!" subplot/reveal about the ML basically being adopted as a replacement goldfish for his parents' deceased son and it was in focus for like 2 eps despite how deeply deeply fucked up that whole premise was (obs isnt unique in a "trauma focus of the week" kdrama narrative, it just struck out as glaringly bad to me for some reason this time around)
