okayy so i will mostly be speaking here mentality/personality wise and not physically wise (i think miguel would probably focus more on the way his partner thinks than their appearance)

little note : i based some of my thinking and reasoning on the fact that miguel's mbti is ISTJ and thought about how he would get along with other mbti types

he is probably a man who likes a match that can connect with their values, work styles and schedules. which doesn’t mean that he is completely immune to the possibility of being adventurous

i’d say he is a traditional man, so he’ll probably search for someone like that too, but he’ll still seek for someone that can get him out of his comfort zone, such as fun and loving individuals who live in the moment – who are still able to respect tradition, of course, and that can decrease his overall stress simply by their presence

he’d also need an intelligent partner, or at least someone with whom he can have deep discussions

he wants someone who is independent – he spends enough time already baby sitting an entire society, and dealing with a childish partner isn’t really what he’s searching for in a relationship

since he is a man who, when making decisions, places rationality ahead of emotions, he’d really have to take time to methodically evaluate his partner

which brings me to an important point : he needs someone who is patient. he doesn’t fall in love easily, he’s actually the exact opposite of a quick lover. it takes time to know him, he likes to take time to know his partner, and likes to take it even more for him to truly commit to a relationship

he might sound too cold from time to time in his words, which can sometime be involuntary, so his partner should preferably be able to see through the tone of his words and focus mostly on what message he’s trying to express

he has a strong sense of duty and responsibility so he will work hard at fulfilling his promises – sometimes sacrificing himself in the process because he always put others first, which is why he needs someone responsible that can bring him back on firm ground in reality and can properly take care of him by showing him how to put himself first sometimes

Okay, I knew I would get something like this. You're already doing pretty well, in that you have a profile pic and have figured out the ask function, so good job. 

Orphiclovers’ guide to Tumblr 101:

1.The number one crucial step that EVERYONE should do, even if you don’t care about the rest. CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PIC to ANYTHING that's not the default one (Though not your face. We don’t generally do that here.) The reason to do this is because it’s almost impossible to tell apart a just created blog from a porn bot. If you haven’t encountered one yet, you will. They're a big thing on tumblr, a completely blank blog created by a bot (sometimes with an attractive woman as the profile pic) that follows you and and sends you ‘hot singles in your area’ type scam messages. If you get one, don’t click any links! Under the message there will be a prompt saying ‘mark this as spam?’ click that and tumblr will automatically report and block the blog.  Some people with huge bot infestations automatically block any blank blog to be safe, and you don’t want that accidentally happening to you, so CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PIC!

2. The other essential blog customization thing is go to Blog Settings>turn off ‘share posts you like’ and ‘share the tumblrs you’re following’. This will hide your likes and the people you follow from every other user. Basically everyone turns this off to have privacy. Otherwise noisy fucks like me can come to your blog and look at all that.

3. You ALSO need to go to Settings>Dashboard>scroll to Prefrences> disable ‘Best Stuff First.’ Having your dashboard (that’s what we call the “Following” tab on Home where you see all the posts) be in chronological order is objectively the best way to be on Tumblr. This is the one social media that doesn’t shove the algorithm down your throat, enjoy it to the fullest. I have never in my life clicked on the ‘Explore’ tab except by accident, and the ‘For You’ tab is also controversial. I don’t recommend it. You can learn to use tumblr with no algorithms and you will feel better.

4. Okay, but there’s like two posts on my dashboard, what do I do? You need to follow people, friend. Go to the search bar and enter a tag for a fandom or character you like. That’s ‘#kim dokja’ or ‘#honkai star rail’ - unlike instagram, you can put spaces between words. It’s not case sensitive, so #Kim Dokja #kim dokja and #KIM DOKJA is all the same to tumblr. I recommend going in tags and not just ‘kim dokja’ because tumblr’s search system is often wonky.

5. Now, scroll through the posts and follow the blogs. That’s it. Now their new posts will show up at the top of your dashboard. Currently, I follow 119 blogs and that’s a pretty decent number. I get new posts every couple of minutes, and if there are no new posts I exit the app. No endless doomscrolling. Also, all the people I follow actually post stuff I want to see.

6. You mentioned wanting to make friends and that brings me to my next tip: Reblog. Reblog, reblog, reblog. Every post you want to click ‘like’ on you should reblog instead. Everytime you want to comment you should reblog instead (and put the comment in the tags).

7. This will put their post on your blog. Most of the posts you see on your dashboard are posts the people you follow have reblogged. It’s hard to wrap your head around, but it’s essential tumblr stuff so I will try to explain it in detail.

9. If you want to say something like ‘good art!!’ or ‘wow I love this theory so much’ put that in the tags of your reblog. The original poster will see the tags you have added, and also anyone who follows you will see the post + your tags. But if they reblog a post from you, your tags don’t come with unless they decide to manually copy them (which people don’t usually do unless they want to respond to something you said in the tags. Then they will copy the tags and put <- prev as in ‘previous’ and respond to them. This is like a whispered conversation you have on op’s post but they will still be able to see all of it so be mindful.) Some people also use the tag system to organize their blogs.

For example, if you reblog art of kim dokja, in the tags you can put ‘#wowowow I’m drooling thank you op, #kim dokja, #orv, #orv fanart’. Theoretically now when you or anyone else goes to your blog’s search function can search #orv fanart and see all the original posts you have made and the stuff you have reblogged with the tag #orv fanart.

Now I will address some common concerns people have before reblogging. “Am I reblogging too many posts in a row??? Won’t the people who follow me get annoyed???” No, they will not 99% of the time. And if they do, they can unfollow you. But okay, if you’re worried about this you can put your reblogs in a queue. Here’s how tumblr themselves describe it: ‘The queue lets you stagger posts over a period of hours or days. It's an easy way to keep your blog active and consistent.’ Basically if you tell it to it will automatically post the stuff you can put in the queue every hour or 15 minutes or whatever you want the interval to be. Check it out.

“Won’t reblogging posts bury my own posts and prevent them from being seen???” No. All the posts you reblog are probably long buried in the OP’s blog too. But as long as they get passed around in reblogs they will get new eyes on them, forever. Also, you can reblog your own posts if you want them put on your followers dash again (usually tagging this as #srb or #self reblog). They will also still be in the tags you put on them originally. Myself, I tag all my posts as #my posts or #my art so anyone visiting my blog can easily check for those specifically (though I don’t know if anyone does…lol. Lmk.)

 “Okay, but I have so many different interests, won’t people hate seeing random reblogged posts about stuff they’re not interested in?” They can deal or unfollow you. But okay, some people create ‘sideblogs’ for every fandom they’re in. This functions as almost a fully fledged seperate blog. For example, you can’t easily tell if a blog you follow is a main one or a sideblog, or what their main blog is (unless they tell you). You only can’t like or follow or send an ask from a sideblog.

In general you don’t add stuff to the text part of a reblog unless you have something significant to add and/or are mutuals with the OP. Mutuals is when you both follow each other. I’m guessing you’re asking me how to get people to follow you back and to that I say idk man. Make posts and talk to them in reblogs and it will naturally happen. 

Also, asks are fun, send people asks (and enable them in setting on your own blog.)

10. Also, give your blog a description and a title. It’s just nice customization. The title can be a quote you like and the description anything you want to tell someone about yourself. Look at how other blogs do it. I think nickname/pronouns/list of fandoms is pretty standard.

i’ve had to have some time to think about this because it’s new johnny lore, whether confirmed yet or not im not too sure. haven’t been able to get to the bones of it bc of the nancy gameplay. and it is also something out my comfort zone, but i do have thoughts. ive wrote this more as headcanon, keeping to exploring the fiction so don’t take it as my personal view. i know it’s opened a can of worms in the fandom, but this is me trying to make sense of it through writing.

many serial killers have confessed to dappling in necrophilia. it’s hard not to when they are toying with death through attraction. if they target victims they also have a sexual attraction to, and they also want to committ murder, there is then a psychological nuance to how they view that person (that they already see as less than human). they will revisit the murder scene, sometimes even dig up the body. they don’t even have to physically committ necro, but the obsession is still there.

in the case of johnny, it is not too far fetched to assume he has been in situations that can have this psychological change in him becoming a necro. how far he goes with it is what is left to the imagination. someone with a philia does not have to do the physical act for it to count, just the obsession mentally accuring is enough. when it comes to necro, the obsession relies on the intrigue of bodily autonomy, to strip it completely through death. his victims have a habit of escaping him, and he is despised by family members because of this. his drive for the hunt is not only to fufill his killer instinct, but also to assure that no one will escape. he views death as a trap, an everlasting bound on their body, mind and soul. his emotions are numb to the point he doesn’t even view it as killing them. he already sees them as an object - as a canvas of flesh - and in death it makes no difference. or, he has the delusion of still seeing light in their eyes; they can speak, but choose not to. in any of these readings, he fulfills his need for control. the body is now obediant, and he doesn’t need to bare anymore shameful scars.

since i’m not a necro (thank god) i assume the obsession is kin to looking at a statue. one of those greek ones where you admire the curves and angles of the body, awing at the creation. its stillness captivating since it’s so life-like, your mind scans for a jolt or twitch. you start to imagine how they would speak, move, show emotion. the person is immortalised to be admired and have them in memory. maybe johnny views his perservation of the bodies like a work of art, they are his muses. when they’re still and unmoving, he can make them who he wants them to be. he can have his derranged thoughts contained in his head, looking at the body on the meat hook, the same way the average person looks at a statue in a museum. maybe that’s all he does, just stares, a scenario in his head, held back by a force that he cannot identify. it’s the first time he’s ever questioned something about his character; and it scares him. that voice in his head, “you sure you wanna do that?” has never tried to stop him before, so why now? is it because drayton doesn’t take kindly to him ‘playing with his food’, is it drayton’s voice? no, he’d be more harsher than that. is it his mum? can’t be, she’s never stopped him before. then who is it? to the average person, that is what you call a conscious. to johnny, it’s an unwelcomed guest, another voice to nag at him. he’s bulldozed his way through life, eating and grabbing anything he desires, and now he’s come to a hault. he thinks the voice is challenging him, and he never backs out of anything. but for the first time in his life, he’s thinking about it. not because he’s questioning the morals, but to see how it will benefit him. and when he looks at maria’s body, hanging on the meathook, and could have sworn he seen her blink. even in death, she is defiant. now, he has to take back control.

the minute i got this ask i knew i had to wait until i was at home with my laptop because my fingers cannot fly as fast on my phone as they can on the computer keys. this is literally so much of what is happening in the buffy fandom. the whole thing is built on intrinsic systemic racism n misogyny that's reinforced within the show and that many in the fandom do not critically engage with in the slightest. it is absolutely objectively insane to me that i can make a post going, for example, "hey, isn't it fucked up as hell that the show treats the romani people as evil for wanting angel to suffer?" and then people will come into my inbox or land in my reblogs and go "well, actually, the show treats the romani people as shortsighted and bad at long-term planning, and i choose to read them that way too :)" and fully not see that there is a hell of a problem with THAT statement as well (real thing that happened). OR that kennedy hate is still hugely in vogue because she's mean and bratty and terrible and doesn't know her place!!! OR kendra's death & how easily she is forgotten by the fandom!!!!! OR the entire trend of handing buffy to a person's favorite character like a little trophy they've earned for being tortured and sad, reducing her to a facet of a romantic relationship & implying that this is what she needs to feel and be complete!

OR OH MY GOD THE ENTIRETY OF EVERYTHING SURROUNDING SPIKE. where do i even start with spike. completely serious, i am honestly endlessly impressed by the people who can still handle being fans of spike, because being a fan of spike means having to wade through 20 million fics where That Bitch Buffy must be narratively punished for abusing poor baby spike who only ever wanted to love her and was totally out of character every time he hurt her (and also drusilla is a vapid whore who didn't love spike, ever.) like i am not at this point in time always strong enough to engage with spike content simply because there is so much spike content that is SOAKED in violent misogyny repackaged as Deep, Torrid Romance. it's exhausting to try and find the good stuff when sometimes even the good stuff will throw you a curveball in chapter five or shy uncomfortably away from the racist realities of spike's character. the fact that robin wood has been hated for so long because he had the Nerve and the Audacity to want retribution for his mom, and that he is framed as in the wrong for wanting that, is in and of itself so fucking upsetting to me.

it's interesting that gojo says to yuta what sukuna said to yorozu. "i totally would not lose but if i did i'd be dead. doesn't matter what you do with my dead body."

i'm so impatient for the full translation because damn, what did gojo mean by "catching up" on that panel of geto? is he like, trying to be an idealist like geto was, and "follow his path to the end" along the lines of what geto said? and that whole "becoming a monster" thing?

is he talking about potentially killing megumi? gege doesn't show us enough of gojo being isolated and lonely in the modern day for yuta's "he had to be a monster" line to really hit hard enough, imo.

he is just a silly guy with his students and sometimes murderizes evil curses or gets testy with the higher ups (even then he only bitches at the higher ups! he doesn't kill them!).

Sadly, as I saw on tiktok and in the leak tags (I also found links to twitter porn, bruh, pls go elsewhere), some fans overestimate Gojo's relationship to others. Some of them, well… oversimplify human relationships. You can love someone but at the same time can’t understand them or can’t agree with them and even hurt them willingly or unwillingly. Humans are meant to be complicated.

We shouldn't forget about Gojo’s isolation, both in a physical and emotional sense. His connections are superficial at best (no, I refuse to believe that he’s a father figure to Megumi, he didn’t adopt him just supported him financially), he has no strong sense of identity. He didn’t know the answer to Geto’s ominous question.

I understand that a lot of fans are hurt because “everybody treats him as a weapon not as a person”. Umm… girliepop, Gojo wasn’t doing his best to improve the quality of his interpersonal relationships or even doing anything to stop others viewing him as a multipurpose tool. He might as well identified with the title of the strongest completely because that’s the only thing he has to center his personality around.

Like... a lot of people expected Shoko to object to the whole body hopping thing. Maybe Shoko didn’t expect him to lose? That’s why she smokes a whole pack of cigarettes during the fight like the self-destructive queen she is? But I dare to mention that to me, their relationship never felt that deep or meaningful. Sure, Gojo is respectful towards her compared to the rest of the characters but I could always feel a little resentment from Shoko. Gojo basically excluded everyone out of the collective tragedy of Geto becoming a curse user. He made it all about himself. It's his pain. His trauma. Nobody’s loss can be compared to his. He unwillingly isolated himself from everyone in that sense.

That’s entirely my hot take nobody’s obligated to agree with it.

I know that he’s the fandom’s darling boy but some fans give more dimension to the character than the canon sources do. Some of them have their idealised version of his character living in their head without all his flaws (you can love flawed characters, you can love said flaws too, you can love morally fucked up ones too it doesn’t make you a bad person). I’m not surprised, I’m not mad, but what they did to Yuta is honestly disgusting.

Yuta is actually the closest to know what Gojo has been through. He understands his loneliness, he went through almost the same experiences in life. Their relationship is much more intimate than the fandom realises. Heck, maybe Yuta understands him more than Geto does. Geto did view him as a weapon for a minute before his departure. You know, when he talks about how his goals can be easily achieved with his power. How he can make such impossibility turn into reality. But ofc that doesn’t mean that their conversation is not inherently about Geto making Gojo question his place in the corrupt jujutsu society, giving him a reality check and pointing out the hypocrisy in his statements.

For Yuta, taking Gojo’s body is not a choice. But a must. And a lot of people forgot about how Yuta has zero self-preservation. He was suicidal, he was ready to sacrifice himself in jjk 0 if it meant to save his friends from Geto and to free Rika. And he's ready to do the same again. Even if it meant to become a monster. Gojo has monstrous moments, and Yuta is his official successor in every aspect and it was told throughout the story over and over. This moment is his succession, officially taking his place on top of this weird sorcery food chain, carrying Gojo’s burden when he can’t do it anymore. Nobody’s “worthy” enough, except him. And this is actually the loveliest part of Yuta’s character: he’s a force to be reckon with, he has the ability to be a monster but his heart is filled with love, he strives to be humane, putting everyone’s needs and feelings before himself even in this dreadful moment.

At one point, Uraume says to Hakari that they can only win this fight if they abandon their humanity. Now, they have no other choice. Using Gojo's body is a mean to an end. Ofc, it's tragic, but it's tragic for both Yuta and Gojo. And we shouldn’t forget about that sorcerers are not good guys. They’re very fucked up guys actually. They’re emotionally and mentally damaged because they literally need to harness intense negative feelings for their power to work. Having a few screws loose is not just a mere expectation it’s a fucking requirement. They’re not morally good, they never have been.

I do want to be wrong when I say that jjk peaked in Hidden Inventory and Shibuya. You know, all the thought, nuance, symbolism and such.

Story wise and in themes I think Hidden Inventory and Premature Death is peak. Pacing wise I think Shibuya is a perfect arc.

But now I think Gege lost trajectory in his own writing. What’s the overall message of this story? Love and how it can turn into a twisted curse if not handled properly? How the youth is always forced to fix the mistakes of the previous generation?

What the hell is even Sukuna’s goal? Being evil for the sake of evil hardly works in a satisfying way in this era of writing.

My biggest beef with Gege is that he can’t handle his own characters (especially if they’re women), he can’t develop his characters and build their arc in a consistent manner. But now… my biggest beef is: from the moment he started this arc, he gave us no exposition, no buildup and no other story elements but instead immediately jumps to the action. It's utterly chaotic to me, like he didn’t do any planning beforehand and now just squeezing important details between fight scenes whenever he comes up with them.

Like, anything that happened in that one month before Shinjuku is shown through flashbacks, instead of you know... writing a whole ass buildup to the final fight, spend some time with the characters, showing us how they prepare and such so we can feel the desperation, we can know that this fight has stakes and requires tremendous sacrifice from the gang.

Maybe Gege writes the fight in this particular way because of shock value. And let me tell you, I hate pointless shock value. It reminds me of GoT season 8.

And maybe if Gege wouldn't use flashbacks as the only tool for writing, this arc wouldn't be memed like "oh shit, this character died too, who's going to face Sukuna after them? We're running out of cast lmao".

SECOND. I think I might be able to help, depending on what sort of OC you're trying to make, whether they're real world, fandom related, alien, D&D/Medieval Fantasy etc. Like. WOAH. There's a lot of freedom in making OCs!!!

Instead of actually wracking my brains rn, because evening is drawing in and I'm tired, I am gonna tell you a few things that no one told me! Plus some extra fun knowledge (and maybe tag you in OC dialogue prompts/creation advice in future if you want some help!!)

SO. 1. You can start whenever, wherever, and no one is allowed to tell you otherwise. I'm not sure how else to say this, but it's a game of creativity and a bit of love. To tell someone else what they're allowed and what they aren't allowed to put in their OCs is WRONG. Give them magic powers if that's the only thing you can think of at first, because it's a start and a start is always beautiful.

2. Art is art!! Even if it stays in your brain and never comes out. By this I mean, appearances: what do they look like? Is it what You want to look like? Is it nonhuman? Experiment with races, hairstyles, eyeshapes etc, especially if you're gonna end up drawing them!! More practise, and it's fun, because it's something/someone that You are Interested in. Hopefully I'm making sense here!

3. Names. Oh god, baby name websites won't help you. But fantasy generator names can! They are often much better and more exciting. Back to separate cultures ^ — looking for famous people of the culture/race of your OC can sometimes be of assistance, or sometimes unofficial Census sites. Names can also be objects, plants, celestial bodies, Gods, colours, metals/elements, etc. Maybe, with a few letters missing. Chair -> Chaise, Tablet -> Tebley (two I came up with a while ago and didn't really go into)

4. Clothes! I love researching clothes because they're always interesting to analyse, especially if they come from somewhere else around the world. Experiment with colours, what works/doesn't work with your character? Is your character neat, tidy? Show that through their clothes! Primmed and pressed suits and whatnot. Same goes for the opposite. If your character's main trait is that they're agreeable and friendly, show that through their clothes even slightly by making the colours blend, maybe make their favourite colour limited on the outfit as if they're moving it to make way for others. Think about shape, silhouette, etc. Do the clothes fit your character's particular body type? Their habitat? Their scene/time? :)

5. Personality!! This is always great. For a few of my OCs, I rolled them D&D stats with a twenty-sided dice. The five I ALWAYS take into account are: joy — what brings them it, romantic interest — or sometimes lack thereof, sadness — do they often fall into it? Are they easily emotional? Etc, fear — what are they afraid of and why? Etc, and lastly, charisma/charm — how easily are people to follow them, want to be friends with them, fall in love with them, want to listen to them speak?

(5.5) Flaws! Everyone's got em, aside from Mary Sue (who could be Your character. I'm not judging.) There are plenty of posts talking about character flaws. Here's one I saw earlier. It explains it better than I could, and OP leaves another link! Think about how much it grates against their defining 'Good' quality, think about whether you would see them as a good or bad person, and whether their flaws change how other people perceive them.

6. Hobbies aren't an important factor exactly, but it's always nice to plan your Little Guy some downtime. What do they do when it's quiet or when they're lonely? Do they have many friends, or do they keep to themselves? What's their favourite book? Their favourite video game? Their favourite film? And how is that shown through their appearance too? (Such as merchandise, tattoos, piercings.)

7. Things I didn't mention consist of:

— do they have any disabilities (mental or physical)? Were they caused by something (accident to be mysterious about)? Or were they born with them?

— do you expect people to relate to them, like them, hate them, fall in love with them, etc? Both real people who may come across your character, and other people in this characters setting?

— hero or villain material? This isn't a fine line, but it doesn't have to be a blurred line. Redemption arc/story? Tragic hero falling to..? Revenge? Lust? Hunger for power?

— how they fit into the scenery or area around them, where they live and how they interact with people who surround them.

But, finally, do what you want. OCs can be tricky, but as soon as you learn that it is — in the end — You who control both them and You, it becomes a whole lot easier.

i feel like i could write an essay about this. you're so lucky you left twitter btw you don't even know the amount of times ive been like look at this stupid opinion. so.

a) i literally don't think tim and jason have any sort of relationship at all like literally. their interactions should be a) titans tower attack, but like for hilarity points. not angst points. its objectively funny that jason made an adult sized robin costume and then put on clothes over that to attack tim n its objectively funny that tim's reaction to getting beat up was like yeah im still better than you <3. b) that one time tim kicked him in the balls. and thats it. thats all. like can we please talk about tim's relationships w his other siblings . please . i'm dying

My one Palia fic would be an Oblivion crossover! But idk if it will ever actually get written. The plot and lore in Palia interest me and I really think the effect they and the setting have on Celeste is interesting but I have so much Elder Scrolls fic I want to write that I just don't know if it'll ever be at the top of my to write list. Not to mention my personal project.

I mean I think we all know its Ayem/Nerevarine lol. I think it shines a really interesting light on Almalexia and gives you the opportunity to dig into her character. It also implies an interesting Nerevarine (imo not to toot my own horn here lol) because it requires them to understand the danger of meeting someone who quite literally murdered you in a previous life and then still show them vulnerability and compassion. Idk shipping is sort of an exercise in character analysis to me, and I like what the Nerevarine can draw out of Almalexia and vice versa. With Meri and Almalexia specifically they're two chronic liars who meet someone that knows their tells and that's the closest to honesty they can get. And that breeds an interesting form of codependency. Having one person in the entire world who can see you for who you are no matter how hard you try to hide it, and then accepts and even loves that person even though they objectively kind of suck lol.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Don't have any atm! My only wip is Not Dead (Yet) and I'm so fucking determined to finish this even if it takes me years.

16. What are your writing strengths?

fuck if I know. I haven't been doing this long enough to have any real idea about it I'm just kind of throwing shit at the page and hoping for the best. I like to believe it's my character work.

THIS one I could give u a list a mile long lmao but I will say I think I show my hand too early and I tend to lack subtlety. Working on that quite deliberately rn.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I mostly throw in bits and pieces for emotional effect. Terms of endearment and the like. I know basically nothing about linguistics or being bilingual so I feel like I would want to a lot of serious research before I tried anything more serious than tossing a few dunmeri cuss words or velothi nicknames into a fic lol.

Atypical friendships: Karube-Maki-Kuina

Notes:  I don’t think this is atypical AT ALL, but I wanted to welcome Karube and Maki to the fandom! So I’m tagging @daikichixkarube @osmosistakumi​ and @kuinaoflight​ so they can tell me how many I got right. 

If you want to see the other parts of ‘atypical friendships’, look under this tag in my blog. So far, I’ve got Kuina-Kuzuryuu, Chishiya-Usagi, Ann-Aguni, Yaba-Mira and Niragi-Lisa.

- The three of them share pretty similar traits: protective of their friends, big hearts, impulsive, love fighting and they seem like generally fun-loving people. 

- Maki’s the more introverted out of the three of them, though it’s not hard to seem introverted next to the likes of Karube and Kuina. 

- I think the reason why they didn’t meet in the show is that at least one of them would’ve died within a week of them knowing each other, because they kept doing increasingly stupid things. In these cases, Karube would usually be the ‘mom friend’ who tries to keep Kuina and Maki from seriously hurting themselves, but he rarely accomplishes anything. He’d be mixing a drink at the Beach’s bar when Chishiya comes to fetch him to try and talk some sense into Kuina. When he asks her what she’s doing she says ‘Maki and I are trying to bend this metal pole by kicking it’. ‘And where is Maki?’ ‘He’s at the infirmary with an icepack on his leg, but once the swelling’s gone down he’s going to try again.’

- Karube uses them to taste new drinks he comes up with, and this ends with them having a drinking night. Maki has a surprisingly high tolerance to alcohol, while it’s hard to say when Kuina’s actually drunk because she acts a lot like she does when she’s sober, but when she decides it’s a good idea to climb onto a tabletop, it’s time to cut her off. 

- Kuina constantly makes them bracelets and necklaces for them to wear. Since it’s impossible to wear all of them, Karube and Maki have started tying them to various objects; their keychains, the bags for Maki’s equipment, the hems of some trousers…

- Karaoke! They’d love karaoke: Maki can actually sing pretty well, Karube is a decent singer, and Kuina can’t hit a note to save her life. However, she puts on such a performance that they love watching her or doing duets with her. When the three of them are singing together, any and all attempts to stay on pitch go out of the window and they simply start screaming the lyrics of the song at the top of their lungs and laughing, leaving behind a horrified audience. 

- Karube and Kuina would be THE BIGGEST fans of the Sology. They’d go to every concert and be the most enthusiastic people in the audience. They’d also shout very inappropriate scenes to try and distract Maki. ‘Sign my tits!’ Said by Karube. ’Sign my ASS!’ Said by Kuina. ‘SIGN MY DI-‘ You get the picture. However, the most embarrassed person in the room isn’t Maki, but Kuzuryuu, quietly standing beside them and wishing the earth would swallow him. 

- I truly pity you if you mess with one of them, though if you’re stupid enough to do so while being aware that the three of them know how to fight, that’s on you. A guy acts particularly sleazy towards Kuina and Karube jumps out of the bar, Maki puts his drumsticks down, and Karube starts saying ‘Listen up: first she’s going to beat you up, then I’m going to beat you up, then he’s going to beat you up, then SHE’S going to beat you up, then I’M going to beat you up…’ Sometimes this drags on for so long that either Kuina interrupts by sending a kick to the guy’s face, or enough time has passed for Chishiya to go get his taser. 

- Maki and Kuina have skincare nights. Have you SEEN Maki’s face? If I want to know his skincare routine, Kuina definitely wants to know it too. 

- The Beach actually has four rules, the fourth one is ‘don’t speak the forbidden words (I dare you to…) in front of Kuina, Maki and Karube.’ 

- ‘The friends of my friends are my friends too’: this is something they take by heart and mostly, it works. Karube and Kuina get on with the other members of the Sology like a house on fire, Maki and Kuina like Arisu and Chota and make sure they’re protected in games, but Chishiya… well, they’ll get along with him one day. Hopefully.

- Speaking of, they have gotten hurt in the past because they were defending one of their friends’ loved ones, for example, Karube getting hurt protecting Kyuuma and telling Maki that ‘it’s alright, I know you would’ve done the same for Arisu or Chota.’ They all know how hard it is to lose someone close to them and they’d never wish that kind of pain on their friends. 

- They have the same reasons for making it out alive: Karube has his girlfriend, Kuina her mother, and Maki has the Sology. They understand perfectly what it is to love other people with their entire hearts and being willing to do anything for them.

Tagging on Ao3 Guide

Hello all! There are about two and a half weeks until posting/reveal day on August 14th so we thought we’d provide a helpful tagging guide of things to think about since many of us are writing fics that deal with content that may be difficult to digest for some people.

Let’s start with the first section of Ao3 tags beyond the major content warnings: relationships! As this is Unvalentines Day, I am assuming that you will be using this section. What are the important, focused on relationships? Also remember, romantic gets a / and friendships get an &. If they have sex, that gets a /. Even if they don’t like each other. 

Section two! Character tags! Who shows up and is important? If we’re focusing on someone, they definitely should be tagged. If someone shows up for three seconds to make a quip and then disappears into the void forever, they do not need to be tagged.

Step three! We’re now onto the Additional Tags section and this shall take up the next many numbers in this list. The first thing we’re going to look at is what did you do to the setting? Is it a coffeeshop AU? Or maybe a modern AU? Did you do a time travel fix-it? Or possibly everybody lives (or dies)?

Next, have you made any alterations to the characters? Is it a gender bend? Tag that! Did you change ages? Tag that! Did someone else raise your character? Tag that! Did you change someone's species because you thought that it would be amazing to make them a sentient tree (or you know, just because)? Tag that! Point out how you are differing from canon with your people.

What is the tone of the fic? Are you providing some hurt/comfort? Or maybe some angst? Maybe it's hurt/no comfort? I don’t know how you’re pulling off fluff for this event, but if it's fluff, also tag that. 

The important bullet point! (I say fully aware I am using a numbering system and not bullet points) The hard to handle bits! The part you really need people to read so that you can point at it and go, I WARNED YOU. The please point out things like, animal death, animal harm, death of a beloved pet, friend, or family member. Is there suicide, suicidal ideation, mind control, self-harm, disassociation, brainwashing, eating disorders, mental illness, injury, gore, physical illness, hospitals, violence (or assorted types - be specific about which type), character deaths, cannibalism, and many other things that are immediate nopes to many people.

The spicy bullet point! As this event is open to all ratings and many other things, some of you might use this bullet point. First think, do they have sex? If the answer is no, skip to #8. If yes, please continue. So you have decided that they have sex. First thing is first: consent level. If it is rape/noncon, there’s a major archive warning for that. Scroll back up and check the box. You may feel the need to reemphasize that again here but it is not required. However, there are gray areas of dubious consent, questionable consent, which should be tagged here. Pretty sure there's at least 2 other consent based tags I’m forgetting right now. But if it's anything but a hard yes, tag it! Next, consider whether you wrote porn without plot. Because you can tag that. Afterwards, we  are now considering what is occurring during the sex. What sex acts are occurring and what kinks are present in the fic? Is there BDSM, Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamics, sex toys, bondage, questionable items as lube, questionable objects inserted into people, penetrative sex, oral sex, orgasm denial, objectification, humiliation, weird biology quirks, blood play, watersports, collars, whips, sensory deprivation, and possibly many other things? Some fandoms have specific tags for things that you can use! Like Omega (Character Name) or Dominant (Character Name). It is good to be thorough here.

Finally! You have reached bullet point 8. Sometimes we like to tag things about the ending. Especially if you kill everyone off. People tend to not like surprise everyone dies not being warned for (though, there is the Major Character Death archive warning if you kill your main characters off). But, as you wade through the trenches of angst, you may feel like tagging it Happy ending. Or possibly bittersweet or uncertain or open ended.

three times Yoosung kinda ruined a picnic date by thinking it was something else, and one time he didn't.

I.

The first-time, you weren't sure whether it was a date; you just wanted to celebrate his autorisation to leave the hospital and since you weren't very confident in the relationship yet; you decided to just see whether he'd invite the others or not, which he did. You'd hate to admit it, because you liked the others; but you still were a bit disappointed, but seeing the chaos going down was comforting so you just thought that there'd be another opportunity anyways!

II.

The second time; you decided you wouldn't let it go to waste. Not that the rest of the RFA were a waste, but you wanted some time alone with him! This couldn't be that hard !

But it was that hard. You see, when you just asked to go picnicing for lunch with him out of the blue; Yoosung was already nervous about it, but why may you be asking? Because he thought you wanted to break up with him. BUT YOU JUST WANTED A DATE😭

After all, for him; your relationship was still new and he was scared he didn't do enough for you, so such an important organisation just for a picnic must be to hide something! But that thing was a date not a breakup... so to support him in case you broke up with him, he asked for a friend of his to tag along... but next time it's going to work right!

III.

Or at least... that's what you thought. But this time all the possible conditions in your mind were fulfilled ! It had to work! Well.... in your mind it had succeeded. Only in your mind though,,,

Because you hadn't been blunt enough for your oblivious s/o... but did you really expect him to get clues? Come on, be realistic please-

And since saying "Wanna plan a picnic together soon?" with a wink at the end wasn't obvious enough, you were now sitting on a nap with the rest of the RFA. Just one last time and then you'd give up...

IV.

Okay, you were really desperate for that picnic date. But it had failed for the third time a month ago ! You knew you had to be upfront with Yoosung when you wanted something but still! Could he not get hints of the picnic date you oh so desperately wanted! Yes he couldn't, did you not remember who you were in love with?! Or so... you thought.

You see, he may be a bit oblivious sometimes (and god did you find it cute) but he was not dumb. So...

One Saturday, you were just slowly starting to wake up next to him, when you felt him take out an object from the bedside table, and move his hand towards you.

"Honey, mind if I use this to show you a little surprise I made just for you ? I promise you'll be happy to see this, I put my whole heart into making it!" Your husband greeted you, an extended smile on his face with stars or excitement practically popping out of his eyeballs; while he was waving a blindfold over your head, asking for your permission.

You, as a tired person who just woke up and was already being asked for sense to come out of your mouth, were very confused but if there was one thing your tired self could make out about this, it's that Yoosung was happy. And how could you say no to his happiness? So, you accepted.

He told you you were going out, you put on some random clothes and let him blindfold you.

You were starting to feel a comforting, smooth breeze hit your skin when he took off the blindfold.

A picnic

The sight was charming. Exactly like you were imagining it. Or more like... everything like the pictures you kept gazing at, wishing for Yoosung to take the hint believing damn well he wouldn't. But it looked like he did get them.

"You like it?"

"I-I I don't like it Yoosung, I love it! This is like a dream! How did you know...?"

"Haha, I'm not that oblivious you know, and you aren't exactly the most discreet person about wanting something, I had understood this for a while, but what kind of a man would I be if the perfect date my woman wanted was not perfect? I tried my best to make this exactly like you wanted! Now, let's have a sit, shall we?" He was looking into your eyes like a kid focusing on TV when his favorite show came on, examinating your every reaction to ensure you'd enjoy this to its fullest.

The date was going on smoothly, everything was as good as it could possibly have been and you were just so grateful to have met him, no words could explain how strong your love was but still, you wanted to try. Because you loved him.

"Honey? Thank you so much for this. You didn't have to do this for me you-"

"Hey! Don't start rambling on me! Your happiness is what makes me happy, of course I had to do this!"

You wanted to pout about how he didn't have to be this nice but-

"Honey, stop overthinking and just eat this, open your mouth please!" He cheerfully said, a spoon full of your favorite cake in his hand, pointed towards your mouth.

This man was one of love, and even though you keep witnessing it; you'd never fully grasp its size.

hi! I hope this is okay to ask, if not that’s okay too^^

I’m a (fanfic) writer also! I love writing but I often struggle with coming up with ideas. I dont have a big following on tumblr (I dont publish my works here), which makes it difficult because I can’t really take reader requests.

I was wondering if you have any tips for coming up with writing topics when you’re stumped? Thank you, I really look up to your work.

Oh this is a fun message!! Ok sorry if i ramble, but i love talking about writing and craft! Im also gonna reblog a specific post of writing advice and encouragement that i adore.

I'd start with what's your favorite sort if fic to write - is it classic multi-chapter fics, oneshots, head canons? Which ones really stood out to you - what were their tropes, tags, the characters? Now, which of those you kind of liked, but something felt off? Was it the prompt, something in the plot, something in the characterization? And which ones peeved you so much you just had to click off - what about those annoyed you?

This will help you visualize what you look for in fanfic, and what sort of scenarios and characterization click with you. If you're writing a single character, that's much easier to work with than say, 10 (or 30~40 .... word to aspiring and new writing blogs ....... maybe give yourself a character limit orz........)

You'll find some characters come naturally to you, wether because they're your favorite or a character archtype you just "get". Some you'll love but still struggle with - I remember being so worried with writing Roose and Tywin from ASOIAF, because they're subtle and more complex. And honestly, I don't like my early work with them ... but I kept at it. You gotta keep at it. Now I'm pretty confident in writing them; it took a while to get there!

((Also I think all writers in general should consider what their strengths and flaws are - this can be hard to pin down objectively, especially after staring at your own work for hours! Think what your favorite parts of writing are. Which parts in your story are giving you that rush of excitement, and why? Which parts are you dreading to work on?))

I think some topics/scenes will jump at you and beg to be written, but it's annoying when you want to write your fav and you're drawing a blank. While requests can be great for this - I've gotten so many delightful ones - you also need to draw from your own creative well. So, how?

Reading other fic is a great inspiration. Don't be afraid to say someone directly inspired you - link to them and mention them! - and build off that. As I said earlier, what if you read a fic that had a great plot or scenario, buuuut you would've done something different? "What if" is a great starter. If you're writing reader insert stuff like this blog, draw from your own experiences in life. Or maybe there was something in the show/book/movie/etc that you really wanted to see, but it didn't happen. What if this character didn't die? What if this major event went differently? "What if" is the basis of all fanfic - besides smooching, that is.

(You can also take a prompt you read in one fandom fic and apply it to another! "Oh i love this reader insert story from Show A, how would my blorbos from Movie B respond in the same situation?")

And on that note, sometimes it's fun to write what personally comforts you and what's your personal fantasy. Requests revolving around family life and kids are easy because I love that shit, and it's something I'd think up on my own without prompting. Lists are great for this - what do you like to write best? What scenarios or characters are you curious about exploring? Brainstorm and make notes! Daydream! Discuss with other fandom friends! You don't have to sit down and chunk out a complete 2.5k+ word fic for every idea. Sometimes just the notes and brainstorming is enough, sometimes you'll wanna explore further.

I feel like most writers will understand that feeling when an idea just grabs them and they have to pursue it. Requests and suggestions are all well and good, but at the end of the day, write what grabs you. That's what you'll put your heart into and feel proud of. It may stay a 300 word drabble or sprawl into multiple chapters of madness, or fall somewhere in between - it's your fic!

Steve needs to make it better.

This one takes up a lotta space so it's easier to just make my own post lmao - I did this a few months ago and am not letting myself repeat characters or fandoms so HERE WE GO

1. Clarissa Dovey, School for Good and Evil

Yeah I'm hyperfixating. What's it to ya. Anywho it is SO HARD to choose between her and Lady Lesso, and in the film Lesso would have won but I'm reading the books atm and she's..... just so good. I love her. Good Mom Energy. Her ♡

2. Nesta Archeron, A Court of Thornes and Roses

She is MASSIVELY underrated by the fandom and actively hated by most of them. It's a book so I don't have a picture of her but she's a QUEEN and I love her

3. Margaery Tyrell, Game of Thrones

Haven't read the books yet but she STOLE that show. Yeah she wasn't in it for too long but... my girl played the game. Love her. Manipulative queen

4. Imelda, Demon Road series

Another books so no picture but... I adored her. Again with the Good Mom Energy. And again with my faves dying too soon 💔

5. Missy, Doctor Who

STOLE the fuckin show. It's bullshit that they killed her off and given the recent re-regeneration, I think we deserve her back. QUEEN. She did so much wrong and I love her for it. But she was also like, by far the least villainous iteration of the Master. She just caused problems for the funsies and again, I love👏her👏for👏it👏

6. China Sorrows, Skulduggery Pleasant

Haven't read this series in forever so I'm super behind with the new wave books, but LOVED it when I was younger and she was always an icon. Definately had a hand in my love for amoral characters

7. Lilith, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Look familiar? She should! Michelle Gomez gets to be on this list twice because her characters are just THAT iconic. Lilith was unhinged, she was a villain, she helped the heros sometimes if she felt like it... what's not to love?

8. Granny Weatherwax, the Discworld series

There were so many I could have picked (and almost did) from the Discworld but Granny has my heart 💖. I mean, a grumpy, powerful, and objectively terrifying old woman who ardently insists that she Doesn't Care while clearly caring A Lot?? That's my JAM babey

9. Glinda, Wicked

I adore her. Sheltered rich bitch learns to Care and also to be gay is always a GREAT storyline, but add in the killer high notes?? Oh she's perfect. Also she's just... so sincere? She really tries So Hard once she's decided to be good and I support her. ALSO this picture is so CUTE! LOOK AT THEM!!

10. Mary Crawley, Downton Abbey

SHE. IS. PERFECT. The cold façade, the fact the everyone is CONVINCED she doesn't care, the fact that she cares SO MUCH. And she gets to be happy for all of five minutes before her husband dies tragically like... my girl 💕😔
