National Food Day
Eating well doesn't have to be boring or restrictive — fuel your body with nutrient-dense foods that energize and nourish you.
Getting families to pay more attention to what they are eating and then make improvements toward eating more real and whole foods is the entire essence of National Food Day!
History of National Food Day
When packaged foods and convenience foods began to grow in popularity during and after World War II, the number of people cooking meals at home from scratch seemed to hit a decline. And with women working outside the home more than ever, this seemed like a great compromise for family life.
But with the convenience came the addition of non-natural preservatives, artificial trans-fats and a lack of clear labeling. Because of this, many scientists and nutritionists were concerned that families were finding themselves uninformed and unaware about the things that they were ingesting into their bodies.
In 1971, the Center for Science in the Public Interest was founded by several scientists who were concerned for the health of families. As a consumer advocacy group that is science-based and independent of any government agency, the clear and ambitious agenda of CSPI has been to improve the food system in the United States to support healthier eating for American families.
One large goal of the CSPI was to make sustainable, healthy food available to anyone, and they have gone about advocating for this and raising awareness in a variety of ways. This includes legislation for more informed labeling, removal of certain dangerous trans-fats, advocacy for better school lunches and much more.
By 1975, the CSPI founded National Food Day in an effort to get more people involved in learning to shop, eat and cook in a healthier and more natural manner. In an attempt to offer something similar to Earth Day, National Food Day has been celebrated annually for several decades.
National Food Day is all about making an effort to eat more whole, real foods, such as fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains and natural proteins. While it might take a bit of thinking ahead and creating some new habits, the potential for massive results is certainly worth a little bit of effort!
National Food Day Timeline
1500 BC
Yeast bread is first recorded
The earliest recorded bread made with yeast is in Ancient Egypt, though it is likely that fermentation was used in bread much earlier than this.
1921
First fast food restaurant opens
White Castle, America’s first fast food chain, opens in Wichita, Kansas and serves burgers made on an assembly line.
1971
Center for Science and Public Interest is founded
CSPI, the founding organization for National Food Day, is established by several scientists.
1975
First National Food Day is celebrated
Founded to raise awareness about the increasing industrialization of food in America, as well as hunger, increasing food prices, as well as the diet and health crisis in the United States.
2015
Food Day Apple Crunch takes place
On National Food Day this year, students are encouraged to participate by posting a picture of themselves biting into an apple, with the hashtag #FoodDay2015.
How to Celebrate National Food Day
Celebrating and joining in on the fun of National Food Day can not only be a delight to enjoy, but also is a great step in creating healthier habits that can last a lifetime!
Consider implementing some of these tasty ideas in honor of the day:
Eat Some Real Food!
Sure, it’s something that most humans do on most days, but National Food Day is a particularly important day for eating – and for enjoying the food that is eaten! On this day, make a bit of an effort to get all of the meals for today from the produce section or fresh meat section, rather than eating from pre-made, preservative filled convenience food.
Got a craving for some crunchy food? Put down that bag of potato chips and, instead, pick up a crisp apple or a crunchy carrot stick. Feeling like a sweet snack? Instead of that pre-packaged granola bar, consider whipping up some homemade granola that includes oats, raisins, cinnamon, vanilla extract and honey.
When it comes to eating real food for National Food Day (and beyond), the changes can be small but the effects are important and lasting!
Learn to Shop Differently for National Food Day
Many times, simply out of habit, people tend to do the same things over and over again. For those who are accustomed to purchasing processed foods, it can feel a bit difficult to overcome that habit. But, National Food Day is a great time to try to re-think the old habits of grocery shopping.
All it takes is a bit of time to stop and reconsider the way grocery lists are made and food is purchased. One of the best ways to level up that food shopping experience is to make a plan in advance, filled with healthier, natural and fresh foods.
In most cases, an important factor for learning to grocery shop differently is to spend the most amount of time around the perimeter of the grocery store. This is because the perimeter is typically where the healthier and most natural foods are located. Fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy items, the meat counter, and freshly baked items are all often located on the outside loop. Start by filling up the cart with produce and move on around the outside from there.
On the other hand, at the center are items that may be filled with preservatives, like frozen foods, pre-packaged snacks, convenience foods and more. Although some of these are not bad, simply being aware of this can help change the way grocery shopping impacts a family’s health.
Join in on a National Food Day Event
Different events in honor of National Food Day are planned in local communities around the country. Whether this means attending a lecture on how to stock a more natural kitchen at home, or joining in on a community event that is advocating for healthier school lunches, this day is a great one for getting connected with others who are making similar efforts!
Try Some New Healthy Recipes
Just because it is healthy doesn’t mean it can’t be quick and convenient! It’s all about learning to think a little differently about the way food is shopped for and prepared.
For instance, when the kids come home from school and want a snack, it’s easy to grab a bag of potato chips or a package of cookies. But what if they had some pre-cut carrots to dip into peanut butter instead? It’s just as delicious and tons more nutritious.
Or, instead of cooking up that box of prepared mac and cheese or a package of ramen noodles, try some Asian stir fry made from frozen, pre-sliced veggies. It’s just as easy and much tastier and healthier.
Longing for proteins that are more convenient? Try grabbing a rotisserie chicken from the deli section of the grocery store. It’s quick and easy, but also healthier than grabbing hamburgers at a fast food joint. Simply add some sliced cucumbers or home baked sweet potato fries as a side.
Even with a small effort, and simply paying attention, National Food Day has the potential to improve the diets and the health of Americans as well as people all over the world!

Using Influencer Marketing to Build Brand Awareness in Nagpur’s Food Industry
Introduction :
In today's digital landscape, influencer marketing has emerged as one of the most powerful tools for brands to reach and engage with their target audience. For the food industry in Nagpur, where local flavors, unique dishes, and new-age restaurants are rapidly gaining attention, influencer marketing can be a game-changer in building brand awareness and driving footfalls.Nagpur, a vibrant city with a rich culinary heritage, offers a diverse food landscape. To stand out in such a competitive market, businesses in the food industry can leverage the power of influencer marketing. By partnering with influential food bloggers, social media personalities, and local celebrities, brands can effectively reach their target audience and build strong brand awareness.
What is Influencer Marketing?
Influencer marketing involves collaborating with individuals who have a large following and significant influence over their audience. These influencers can promote a brand’s products or services in a way that feels more organic and trustworthy than traditional advertisements. In Nagpur’s food industry, influencers could be food bloggers, local chefs, nutritionists, or lifestyle influencers who have a passion for food and a loyal audience.
Why Influencer Marketing for Nagpur’s Food Industry?
Nagpur, a city known for its vibrant food culture, has seen a rise in new food businesses—restaurants, cafes, food delivery services, and organic food startups. The food scene is competitive, and gaining visibility is crucial. Traditional marketing strategies are still relevant, but digital platforms, especially social media, are becoming more effective for reaching local audiences. This is where influencer marketing shines.
Building Local Connection: Partnering with local influencers who resonate with the Nagpur community allows your brand to connect with your target market more authentically. These influencers can showcase the local flavors and dishes, making your brand more relatable.
Trust Factor: Influencers build trust over time with their audience. When they recommend a product or restaurant, their followers are more likely to trust their opinion. This personal endorsement holds much more weight than an impersonal ad.
Targeting Specific Demographics: You can choose influencers whose followers match your target demographics. For example, if you run a health-conscious restaurant, collaborating with a fitness or wellness influencer would give you access to an audience that is likely to be interested in healthy dining options.
Cost-Effective Marketing: Traditional marketing methods like print ads or billboards can be expensive. Influencer marketing, on the other hand, is more flexible and scalable according to your budget. Micro-influencers (those with smaller, niche followings) are often more affordable and offer high engagement rates.
Steps to Implement Influencer Marketing for Your Food Brand in Nagpur
Identify the Right Influencers Start by identifying influencers in Nagpur who are aligned with your brand's values. Look for food bloggers, Instagram personalities, or YouTubers who regularly post about food, restaurants, and lifestyle. Tools like Instagram search, influencer platforms, and local hashtags can help find influencers in your area.Popular local hashtags like #NagpurFoodies, #NagpurRestaurants, and #NagpurEats can lead you to food influencers who already engage with local food enthusiasts.
Set Clear Goals Before reaching out to influencers, define what you want to achieve. Are you looking to increase brand awareness, boost sales, or drive traffic to your website or physical location? Clear goals will help guide your strategy.
Create a Compelling Offer The offer you provide to the influencer should benefit both sides. This could be free meals, discounts, exclusive tasting events, or even a paid collaboration. Be creative with your offers to generate more excitement.
Craft an Authentic Message While you want to promote your brand, it's essential to let influencers have creative freedom in how they present your products. Authenticity is the key to success in influencer marketing, and rigid, overly controlled campaigns can feel forced and may turn off their audience.
For instance, rather than scripting their content, encourage influencers to visit your restaurant, try the food, and share their genuine experience with their followers. This keeps the promotion organic and trustworthy.
Utilize User-Generated Content Influencer posts often generate significant engagement, including comments, likes, and shares. You can repurpose user-generated content (UGC) from influencers by resharing it on your brand’s social media channels. This not only builds credibility but also extends the lifespan of the influencer campaign
Track and Measure Success Use analytics tools to measure the performance of your influencer campaigns. Metrics like engagement rate, reach, impressions, and conversions can help you determine the return on investment (ROI). Additionally, ask influencers to use tracking links or specific discount codes to track direct sales or website visits.
Types of Influencers to Leverage in Nagpur’s Food Industry
Food Bloggers & Critics These influencers are experts in reviewing restaurants and dishes. Their detailed reviews can give your brand credibility, especially among food enthusiasts.
Lifestyle Influencers Lifestyle influencers often feature food and dining as part of their content. They appeal to a broader audience, making them ideal for promoting your brand to a diverse customer base.
Micro-Influencers These influencers may have smaller followings (5,000 - 50,000), but they offer highly engaged, niche audiences. Micro-influencers are perfect for promoting local businesses and offer a higher engagement rate for smaller budgets.
Celebrity or Macro-Influencers If your budget allows, collaborating with a larger influencer who has hundreds of thousands of followers can create instant visibility. This can be ideal for food brands aiming to create a massive impact in a short period.

[ad_1] "Girl dinners," a TikTok trend sweeping social media this summer, might sound like a fun night out with friends — but it’s actually a potentially dangerous food practice that’s sparking concern among doctors and nutritionists.Using the hashtag #GirlDinners, some Gen Z women are sharing photos of what they’re having for dinner, with many of the "meals" coming up drastically short in terms of calorie count or nutritional benefit. Some of the more substantial "girl dinners" follow a charcuterie theme, including a spread of nuts, cheeses, olives, sliced meats and breads or crackers.BARIATRIC SURGERY PATIENTS LIVE LONGER BUT FACE A HIGHER SUICIDE RISK, SAYS STUDYOthers, however, are far more limited. Some "girl dinners" recently posted to TikTok include plain hamburger buns, M&Ms poured into custard, a jar of peanut butter and deep-fried pickles wrapped in cheese. One poster even shared a can of Coke Zero as her "dinner." Some of the more substantial "girl dinners" follow a charcuterie theme, but others are far more limited. (iStock)While some of these options may have been shared in a joking manner, some experts are concerned the trend could influence some girls and women to adopt unhealthy or disordered eating habits."While it may have started out as quirky or strange food combinations, recent examples of the ‘girl dinner’ trend online have been showing minimally nutritious or nonexistent ‘meals,’" said Tanya Freirich, a registered dietitian nutritionist in Charlotte, North Carolina, in an interview with Fox News Digital.ARE YOU AN INTERMITTENT FASTER? IF SO, BINGE EATING COULD BE IN YOUR FUTURE, NEW STUDY SUGGESTS"Unfortunately, it seems like the wonderful and health-promoting focus on body positivity in our media and society has been replaced with an unhealthy obsession with ‘thinner is better’ in recent years," added Freirich, who practices as The Lupus Dietitian. "Glorifying and spotlighting disordered eating habits as acceptable may only contribute to the normalization of those habits," she added.Lindsay Allen, registered dietitian nutritionist and owner at Back in Balance Nutrition, LLC, in Tampa Bay, Florida, said these trends are "painful to see."She told Fox News Digital, "Young women are especially prone to the negative effects because they are still developing and they need extra nutrition." In the competitive world of fitness, gyms and fitness centers constantly strive to attract new members and drive business growth. While traditional marketing tactics play a vital role, leveraging relationships can be a game-changer when it comes to lead generation. Building strong connections with prospects, fostering customer loyalty, and engaging with industry influencers can significantly impact your gym’s success. In this article, we will explore effective strategies to successfully leverage relationships for lead generation within your gym.
Personalized Onboarding Experience:
A warm and personalized onboarding experience sets the foundation for building relationships with new members. Take the time to understand their fitness goals, preferences, and limitations. Offer personalized training sessions, consultations, or fitness assessments to demonstrate your commitment to their success. By creating a positive first impression, you lay the groundwork for long-term member engagement and potential referrals.
Cultivate a Sense of Community:
People join gyms not only for the equipment and facilities but also for the sense of belonging and camaraderie. Foster a community-centric environment by organizing social events, group workouts, or fitness challenges. Encourage members to connect with each other and create a supportive network. This sense of community enhances member retention and can lead to valuable referrals as satisfied members recommend your gym to friends and family.
Build Partnerships with Local Businesses:
Forge strategic partnerships with local businesses to expand your reach and tap into new customer segments. Collaborate with fitness apparel stores, nutritionists, wellness centers, or sports clubs to offer exclusive discounts or joint promotions. Cross-promotion allows you to leverage each other’s customer bases and generate quality leads. These partnerships not only enhance your gym’s visibility but also position you as a trusted authority within the local fitness community.
Engage with Influencers and Fitness Experts:
Influencer marketing has gained significant traction in the fitness industry. Identify influential fitness enthusiasts, bloggers, or social media influencers who align with your gym’s values and target audience. Collaborate with them for guest workouts, sponsored content, or brand endorsements. Their endorsement can expose your gym to a wider audience and generate leads from their loyal followers. Additionally, consider hosting workshops or inviting fitness experts for guest lectures, further establishing your gym as a hub of knowledge and expertise.
Implement Referral Programs:
Harness the power of member referrals to drive lead generation. Offer incentives to existing members who refer friends, family, or colleagues to your gym. This could be in the form of discounted memberships, complimentary training sessions, or exclusive rewards. Encourage word-of-mouth recommendations by providing exceptional service, personalized attention, and outstanding results. A referral program creates a win-win scenario where your existing members feel appreciated while you acquire high-quality leads.
Leverage Social Media Platforms:
Social media platforms are invaluable for lead generation in the digital age. Create engaging content that showcases your gym’s unique offerings, success stories, and fitness tips. Encourage members to share their achievements and experiences on social media, using relevant hashtags and tagging your gym. Engage with your audience by responding to comments, conducting live workouts, or hosting Q&A sessions. A strong social media presence builds brand visibility, fosters relationships, and attracts potential leads to your gym.
Conclusion:
Successfully leveraging relationships for lead generation is a powerful strategy for gym owners and fitness centers.
Even with a small effort, and simply paying attention, National Food Day has the potential to improve the diets and the health of Americans as well as people all over the world!

anyway with this in mind i was like huuuh. thats weird. and out pf curiousity i went to our scale (which is hidden but i know where it is) and i weighed 147.8 i think??? the way my jaw was genuinely agape. like. whaaat..???? no because im in shock and disbelief. i for some teason cannot believe ive lost weight and after asking people have kind of noticed but i didnt?? like its giving my hashtag b/p era in 2020 when i lost like 25-30lbs in ab a month and a half/two months and i gneuinely believed i was still fat as hell when i had to get literally hospitalized.
no because ive been in recovery okay. recovery isnt something that stops because that kind of mindset (with sh too) doesnt rlly leave you id say. anyway i think i also believed i couldnt lose anymore after they like iv dripped me (i dpnt actually know what they did but evil nutritionist. meds. food plans. horrible.) esp when j was in swim bcuz i was exercising everyday and no losing anything??
maybe it is the testosterone aiding me. but okay listen chat this is where it gets bad okay. this happened ab a week ago and in horrible borderline relapse fashion perchance ive set myself up. im thinking ab my weight again and appearance and etc after 2 yrs of being in my idgaf era and im a little concerned .
on another topic. ive lost alot of weight recently and i genuinely dont believe it.
like okay maybe i understand where my mom is coming from. i remember vividly at the end of freshman year i think i was inching almost 170 after maintaining my 160 for a good year or teo but i was slowly gaining more weight after being put in recovery.
having been on testosterone for almost a year now, i have noticed my appetite obviously. i talk ab it repeatedly here and listen im not avidly restricting nor am i relapsing its seriously something thats out of my control and i do still not avidly check my weight or bc or compare or purge or count cals anymore. i am fine.
howevet a few days ago i did buy new pants and i was like. i went to the store and i saw them and i was like this is so cute??? they were a size like 10waist i think and also low rise so i was like ehhh. maybe ill find another thats a bigger size (i typically wore 12-14. freshman year I went put of my way to find size 16) but i couldnt find another pair so i took that shit into the dressing room w me anyway.
i tried it on and it fit fine??? hell it was big too and also my thighs?? like the biggest factor for finding pants for me were that i needed larger pants to fit my huge hips and my bigger thighs. but no. they r straight legged and size 10 and they fit if not perfectly but slightly big.
i was appalled by this. bought them btw theyre so cute i love them. but with this in mind i weny through my closet and found this old pair pf cargo shorts i never wore anymore cuz they were too small (never fit me well anyway. very tight.) but i tried them on and they fit? well??? and theyre literally big??? like i remember they were always tighy around my thighs but no they fit like baggy cargos. it was so wonderful.
