A masterpiece given the miracle of life. Another incidence of Darren blurring the lines between what he can do and what he should do. Rebecca is only several years old and must live out in the woods to avoid bringing attention to herself. Ungodly strong and fairly unnerving, she does not breath and can often be found sitting at the bottom of bodies of water.

something about livvy being born in the dead of winter during an odd storm that's left rain pounding on the hospital roof and wind shaking the windows. she doesn't cry at first- this little baby who is too tiny and so very frail, but when she starts, everyone slumps a bit in relief. the doctors are hovering and want to take her to make sure she's okay, but rosana, her mother, just wants one moment. she holds livvy close and feels her fluttering little heartbeat. she says, " this is her first rainfall. isn't that exciting? you just wanted to hear it, didn't you, sunshine? you're already such a smart girl, "

i think the thing a lot of papyrus takes get wrong is that they forget that, among other things, papyrus is funny. in my experience writing papyrus, i often find the most funny line is the most in-character one. an unfunny papyrus doesn’t ever feel like an accurate papyrus to me. it’s more than part of the game, it’s part of his character. and disregarding that is what messes up a lot of otherwise good impressions of him.

okay so livvy has two ballet teachers; katya vasiliev and her son alexei. katya had a really promising career with the russian ballet, but stopped after she got married. some time later, she came to the united states with her then 3 year old son. her husband had died and it seemed she hadn't waited until the ground had settled again over his casket to move in with a relative in california. she worked hard in various odd jobs until her relative had died and left enough money that she was able to officially open her own studio sometime around 2010.

alexei doesn't remember his father but he loves and reveres his mother; his earliest dream was to be a dancer just like her. he had a promising career ahead of him- at least until the wreck that shattered his landing knee. after healing, he too went into teaching. his long term boyfriend recently proposed and they have plans to be married in the fall in a little orthodox church.

they kind of play good cop bad cop in terms of teaching; katya is occasionally harsh and demanding of her students and alexei is there to offer water and orange slices and softer critiques and tips.

they both love livvy a lot. katya admires her fire and dedication and openly regards livvy as a favorite- it's not unheard of for her to single livvy out as someone they should emulate. she sees a lot of herself in liv, which she finds mildly concerning. alexei worries for her and has a soft spot as someone who was also raised by a working class single parent. on rainy days and days that are just unfairly hot, he will tuck livvys bike into the back of his truck and give her a ride home. they sing along to the radio and sometimes he'll buy her a hot chocolate or lemonade at a drive-through.
