//Since I've been writing a ton of angsty Angel, here's a little realisation I had rewatching Hazbin earlier this week.

So, in episode 6, during You Didn't Know, obviously Adam and Lute share their two cents (aka Lute calling Angel "some crackwhore who fucked up already" when discussing his chances of getting into Heaven). They pull up this picture of said crackwhore to back up their argument.

The first few times I watched it, I just saw Angel upset and bleeding, and I assumed it was a shot from the previous scenes, since Heaven had just watched Angel stand up to Valentino and take a blow for it (OH and did I mention how they are essentially spying on Angel without his knowledge during this scene? My boy can't catch a break). Then I noticed he's wearing his robe from the studio.

So... Lute and Adam straight up dug out a picture of Angel at his work with a black eye, holding his robe closed, bleeding from the mouth and crying... AND THAT'S THE EVIDENCE THAT HE'S IRREDEEMABLE? Him being obviously abused is PROOF HE'S NOT WORTHY OF HEAVEN?

HARSH, LUTE. HARSH.

The fact they went out of their way to show Angel at his absolute LOWEST to prove the point that he's a sinful addict porn star with no chance of being redeemed is CRAZY.

Okay so people always talk about how Husk must be strong or Angel is really light (even Vaggie lifts him over her head) but also Angel is incredibly strong because he can fire six guns without the recoil affecting him. Angel can also hold an Entire Charlie in the air (Vaggie is also able to carry an Entire Charlie... and Sir Pentious)

Muscle is pretty dense and we know Angel would need to be pretty muscular to pole dance

I would like to posit Angel isn't very light, rather Husk and Vaggie are just Terrifyingly Strong.

Okay okay okay, so, the thing about Alastor's fight with Adam is...

He was doomed to fail from the beginning.

It's been established that, much like sinners, angels can only be killed with angelic weaponry, but Alastor went into that fight with only his own powers. Was he that arrogant that somehow he'd be the singular demon in all of Hell - the Sins included - to be able to overcome this rule? I mean, Alastor is pretty arrogant, but it's not like he's stupid. The reason he decided to needle Lucifer by positioning himself as a father figure to Charlie (aside from the daddy issues I like to imagine he has) is because he knew from the very start he could never take Lucifer in a straight fight. It's not like he couldn't have used an angelic weapon; several of his shadow tentacles were throwing axes at the exorcist army before his shield broke.

Fuck, maybe he would have WON that fight if he had used an angelic weapon! Alastor put up a pretty good fight against Adam. He's obviously the more skilled fighter between the two, Adam just had overwhelming angelic power.

Alastor threw himself headfirst into a fight he had no hope of winning.

And he almost died.

'redesigns' or sumn , , they're more so stylized to what I'd prefer to see . Tried to keep it animation friendly by mostly using geometric and simple shapes but I failed like halfway.

I did alastor first so he def looks the worst, like I said in the image I'll redo him when it isn't 1am, maybe, probably not </3

Anyways this all started because I saw some horrendous redesigns of the characters that made me gasp and I wondered if I could do better even if the bar was in hell (badum tss), I hope I did, forgive me for hitting Husk with the bear beam it will happen again.

actually......... previous post reminded me of ANOTHER event with this guy (im oversharing)

so i have like a huge issue with hazbin hotel. idc if you like it, that's all you. but i cannot get into that show because of a previous traumatic event that i don't wish to speak of. ESPECIALLY alastor and angel dust. super triggering to talk about. I SWEAR THIS IS IMPORTANT CONTEXT.

anyways, i was talking to this guy and we got on the topic of things that triggered us (he claimed he wanted to look out for me) and i was like "oh yeah yknow hazbin hotel-" and he goes "WHAT?? WHY??" and for the next fucking hour he goes on a rant about how it "isn't really that bad" and how i was "being dramatic" and he told me that he was sure i'd love it because "it's a vulgar show and you're a vulgar person" (thanks a lot <3 definitely makes me feel good about myself!!!!!!!!!)

and then he starts explaining the characters to me, trying to make the show seem more appealing, and the whole time im like sitting on the other end of the conversation (which was over discord btw) fucking SHAKING because all he was doing was comparing our friendship to alastor and angel dust. which is quite literally the same comparison between me and another ex friend that made is such a problem media for me then.

and it bothers me so much to fucking think about because this prick would get mad if i even ALLUDED TO the south. he'd get so fucking pissy if i brought up one of my interests that he didn't like. but he was allowed to sit there and try to force me to like something that genuinely makes me sick to my stomach?????

AND WHAT DIDN'T HELP IS THE PERSON THAT CAUSED THAT MEDIA TO BE SUCH AN ISSUE TO ME WHAT HIS EX PARTNER, WHO I'D TOLD HIM SEVERAL TIMES WAS A HORRIBLE FUCKING PERSON!!!!!!! AND HE IGNORED ME EVERY SINGLE TIME UNTIL AFTER THEY BROKE UP. AND THEN HE TRIED TO APOLOGIZE BUT HE DIDN'T MEAN A SINGLE WORD OF IT BC HE DID THE SAME THINGS TO ME THAT HIS EX PARTNER DID!!!!!!!! but nawwwwww i was just being "overdramatic" :33 i need to get over myself :'((
