kpanniversary2024, prompt 1: Fate

Vegas felt it the third time. There had been hints the first two times, brief sensations on his skin that had gone away the moment he had paid attention to them. Not that he had done so for long; the image before him had been far more important. The next one wasn't brief. Pain sudden and sharp circled around his groin, the intensity of it increasing the more Vegas continued enacting punishment devoid of reason or substance. It became so unbearable, it made him gasp and drop the jumper cables he was holding on the floor. Pete stopped screaming. He lifted his head and stared at Vegas, his gaze steady despite his current state. Barely able to stand, to breathe, to be. And yet, there was recognition in those black eyes of his, hidden beneath his bangs. There was realization on his face, slipping through his bland expression. It burned Vegas' insides, more so than the electric waves that had coursed through his body. Later, the slap he received for his mistakes cemented the reality he desperately wanted to deny, but couldn't. Vegas faintly heard Pete hiss as his father's palm came in contact with his cheek, leaving marks that would stay there for days afterwards. The embarrassment he felt was worse. Neither of them said anything about it. The word bond never left their mouths. Perhaps Pete hated it, too. Perhaps, he didn't want to admit what it meant - what it could mean - either. No matter. Vegas would just have to get more creative in how to make Pete suffer until he'd be satisfied. And if he got hurt in the process, so be it.
