A lot of the response to Oppenheimer criticism has been "Clearly, you haven't watched the film, it isn't celebrating him! It shows all the things he did wrong" and I have to say... that's... still... missing the point of the criticism.
Oppenheimer occupies the same space as all the war films--like Dunkirk--that say "War is hell." While these films could and do skew towards "War is bad, let's avoid it," they still often... really end up saying "War is hell but let's pity the warriors and maybe consider the ways in which it was worth it."
The "war is hell" films end up completely missing the "anti war" mark because they choose to focus on the people waging the war, painting them in a sympathetic or at least humanizing light even when they're in the wrong. You feel bad when a soldier has to kill a kid on the other side--even if the kid is unarmed or begging for their life--because it's sooo sad that the soldier was driven to that point. And because... well, what else could they have done?
A much more effective "war is hell" film would be focused on the people whose land is ravaged by bombs. The civilians. The families. The people who lose their homes, their schools, their hospitals, their lives. Not in waging war but just in happening to live where war is happening. THEY are the real victims. They are not victimizers who might come to regret it (like warriors, like Oppenheimer) but like... actual victims.
In choosing to make a film about Oppenheimer and not about his victims--the people of New Mexico, the people of Japan, people forced into internment camps on US soil, and broader even then--you are saying "This man is responsible for great evil but let's humanize him too. Let's recognize that he didn't really have a choice or that maybe he felt bad about it. It was out of his hands."
Beyond humanizing him, it gives this history an element of inevitability. He HAD to do it. This HAD to happen. It's horrible that it happened but it was always going to happen.
If you focus instead on all the people victimized, you see all the reasons why it didn't have to happen.
And if Christopher Nolan isn't equipped to tell the story of New Mexican civilians who weren't given protective gear when the only jobs they had left were at all the labs or the stories of what a Japanese child does when his family is ravaged by American war crimes... he doesn't have to tell that story. The option isn't "Tell Oppenheimer or tell an intimate story he can't at all relate to." He could just... not tell this story.
Some stories really are not meant to have entertainment value. Some stories are not meant to be human stories but rather just facts on paper. Or told from the other human side. Sort of how like documentaries on serial killers often get it wrong but the fictionalized tv shows exploring ~what made them serial killers are ALWAYS wrong.
Some perspectives don't really need to be explored, is what I'm saying. Oppenheimer shouldn't be a grey or even dark protagonist. Some atrocities do not need to be humanized in any way, even if the humanity mostly culminates into "He was still wrong, though."
There are more efficient, less troubling ways to explore the motivation (the greed, the nationalism, the racism, the hatred, the warmongernig) behind bombings and wars like this. That would be better tools at realizing how we are repeating history, right now, in 2023.
That don't involve having to paint atrocities and the people behind them as grey or human or pathetic or pitiable.

The horse is six feet under at this point I know but I still can't get over the gall of James Somerton correctly! arguing that Disney's lack of queer representation should be blamed solely on the company and not on the Chinese market, only to immediately fuck up any sort of logic he had in saying that by concluding that this is because China should be completely written off as a viable market because the government only lets people watch shows about communism and censors everything else š¤Ŗ source: I shit you not, a right wing conspiracy theorist !! Since he doesn't actually know anything about the subject he's talking about, he's not actually making any arguments. He only mentions Chinese BL because the article he plagiarized did, and even then he has to punctuate it with a "audience of mostly STRAIGHT WOMEN! " of course, even though the article also acknowledges and has multiple interviews with queer Asian people who found comfort in the genre right below all the stuff he copied. There's no mention of queer Chinese artists or lesbian works or any sort of empowerment, probably because he didn't care to learn about any of them, and so rather than ending with what could have been a strong message about the persistence of queer identity even under political oppression, the video fizzles out into nothing with an aftertaste of "so Disney should just say fuck the Chinese and make whatever they want" (because yeah James sure that's the reason why Disney doesn't make gay stuff there's definitely no biases within the company itself or American culture) and "well at least we still have the Japanese and the Thai are making bl now!" Just the epitome of self-centered white saviorism. No real sympathy or respect for queer Asian struggles, just a reframing of a unique struggle with representation into "well I got mine so go get yours somewhere else" while he waits for them to spit out a work that he can regurgitate into a profit on his channel
#also he pronounced weibo as weebo#horrible. straight to the electric chair for that guy#james somerton

Canadian Cartoons Are Great
Today, the popular cartoon YouTuber Saberspark uploaded a video talking about the infamous āfart episodeā of the 2023 Total Drama series. The comments were filled with hatred and generalizations towards Canadian animation. These terrible comments are not the fault of Saberspark, but it is true that the ābig usersā in the cartoon community are (mostly) Americans who spread myths and stereotypes about Canadian cartoons. This has bothered me and a few others for quite a while, so here, Iām going to prove why Canadian animation is great, actually, and dispel common misconceptions
All Canadian cartoons are about fart jokes - if you say stuff like this, you clearly have never seen a Canadian cartoon outside of Total Drama and Johnny Test. Thatās like if I said āall anime is naughty tentaclesā or āall American cartoons are about anvils falling on your head.ā And donāt act like your precious USA cartoons and anime are exempt from toilet humor. One example of an anime with toilet humor is Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt - their first episode was about a monster made out of shit. And we all know about the gross out cartoons such as Ren and Stimpy.
Canadian cartoons are cheaply mass-produced because of CanCon - No. What CanCon ACTUALLY states is that a certain percentage of content on a Canadian channel has to be Canadian-made. The policy is about supporting Canadian art, not āmass-producingā cartoons, since this applies to ALL Canadian TV and radio content, animated or otherwise.
Now, let me tell you some reasons why Canadian animation is actually great
Some of your childhood shows, such as Arthur, Franklin, and Little Bear are Canadian in origin.
Some of the most acclaimed cartoons within the cartoon community, such as Ed Edd n Eddy and MLP:FIM, were both animated in Canada and had voice actors from there (same talent pool, in fact - Vancouver)
Inspector Gadget and the Beetlejuice animated series helped keep good animation afloat during the 80s. In a decade full of uninspired and insipid cartoons, these were two of the highlights.
Canada is still a great place to outsource animation, as proven with the works of Nelvana, Mercury Filmworks, Jam Filled, and countless others.
If you grew up without cable, you probably watched PBS Kids and/or Qubo a lot. Guess what - lots of the shows on both of those channels were Canadian. For example: the PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch: Timothy Goes to School, Seven Little Monsters, Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse - these shows are all Canadian! Qubo was also home to Jane and the Dragon, Jacob Two Two, Babar, Spliced, etc - theyāre all Canadian too.
Because Canadaās censors are far more lax compared to American ones, Canada has made huge strides in teen and adult animation. Such shows include Total Drama, 6teen, Detentionaire, Undergrads, Producing Parker, etc as well as the movie Heavy Metal.
Also because of the lax censors, Canadian cartoons had positive LGBTQ representation far before the United States did. One episode of 6teen has a character stating āIām gay,ā and in Braceface, the main character assists her gay friend in finding a boyfriend. Unsurprisingly, these episodes never aired in the US.
6teen also dealt with periods before Turning Red, Baymax, and Molly McGee did it (again, the episode was banned in the US).
Finally, here are a few Canadian cartoons I recommend, and where to watch them:
Cybersix (it was a Canadian and Japanese co-production). The whole thing is on TMSā YouTube channel.
Redwall is on Pluto, and there are episodes of it on YouTube courtesy of Treehouse Direct
Toad Patrol (unfortunately youāre gonna have to resort to low quality YouTube uploads)
Silverwing - again, the complete series is on YouTube
Detentionaire- On Tubi and Pluto!
Ruby Gloom is a great show if you like cute gothic stuff; it too is on Tubi and Pluto
The Adventures of Sam and Max: Freelance Police - on Tubi
One of my favorites, The Raccoons. Basically the Canadian equivalent to The Simpsons, and with a banger ending song. The showās production company has uploaded episodes of it for free on YouTube.
The original Clone High was animated by the legendary Nelvana (if youāre wondering, the new season is not outsourced to Canada š) It is on Paramount Plus and HBO Max
Undergrads - yet again on YouTube, in low quality unfortunately. Like Clone High, it was on MTV.
I also recommend watching some short films from the National Film Board of Canada. My personal favorite is the Log Driverās Waltz.
Tl;dr - American cartoons are not bad because of Allen Gregory, anime is not bad because of Pupa, and Canadian cartoons are not bad because of Johnny Test or fart jokes.

UPDATE: The Destiel/Supernats aren't taking this well -- explaining my reasoning for the history I gave, and why Destiel is not the big bitch of shipping that it thinks it is
An update to THIS:
"This is just a marketing thing, Gundam is a giant robot show, only men watch it!"
Gundam's fandom is silent majoratively feminine:
"But its not gay, its about giant robots!"
Gundam is very gay. The entire climax of the first story is a riff of Yukio Mishima lmao
The climax of the Amuro/Char arc of Universal Century Gundam (expounding from first Gundam circa 1979), Char's Counterattack is somewhat on the history of Japanese disillusion with liberalism which notably climaxed with the life and history of Yukio Mishima.
You know. THAT Yukio Mishima.
The one who wrote FORBIDDEN COLOURS.
It was so gay that the fanfiction inspired by it became its own damn anime:
And that's just Charmuro, let alone Charma or a billion other ships just in OG Gundam alone.
We've got This is before we get to Guin Sard Lineford and Yamagi Glimerton (both verrrrry gay), Tieria Erde (a genderqueer trans-coded character who transcends gender entirely in their arc) and a bunch of others.
Gundam was always gay.
"I don't see the numbers"
"That doesn't seem like much, Supernat is at least 2x this"
Sooooo the amount of content you do see isn't representative of how much even got written, given FFN had a huge content purge.
First, let's start with the relative proportion of users: If we're analysing the concept of fandom, we first have to look at who had access to the internet in the first place to publish works.
Yeah that's a pretty sizable difference.
Wing's fandom actually exploded in 2000, but got capped VERY early, distributing itself to fansites when FFN fragmented and collapsed.
Why?
Content purges!
"Isn't there some sort of online archive of this stuff?"
Sure, if you wanna dig through tons and tons of Angelfire and Geocities pages which have mostly disappeared. Otherwise, no! There is no archive of this stuff?
"Why?"
They've since rolled back on this but it means there's a massive amount of lost media out there, including the discussions on it and thus there's an entire history you didn't get to experience.
Its actually very difficult to reach people who've been involved, since it was so long ago that very few people remember, and a sizable proportion of that population have actually died.
"But what about SF fandoms? We have ancient records of stuff like Spirk!"
See unlike physical media like zines, when a server goes offline or there's a data-loss, or something like that there is no surviving copy of the thing in question.
The net result is we have this weird hole where content just vanished, and its now considered lost media. The work of many artists, designers, writers, even videos of events are just lost media because we didn't have the archival mentality adults develop.
You're not gonna hear about all the X-Files stuff or Frasier fanfictions or GW stuff because of these purges and the lack of physical media. FFN users were teens, not adults with resources like US/EU/JP SF fans, who had archival tendencies due to their long history.
So there is this supermassive black-hole in the history of fanfiction running between 1998, and 2008 and some of the only evidence of it are worksafe works and fansites which the owners have long since forgotten about because folks moved on. Moving on is a normal part of fandom.
So to those of you just saying "supernatural is losing to a pair of dumb anime girls" or "urgh this is just a trend tumblr will get over it and go back to supernatural"...
Uhhhhh no they won't, actually?
Supernat's fans mostly seem to be waspy Americans. Gundam is kind of a global phenomenon, one which has traditionally had a silent majority female audience, a vocal minority male audience -- and every time that majority has spoken up, its coincided with a content purge, or a TOS change that mysteriously biases American derived fiction over Japanese derived fiction.
Funny that.
tl;dr:
NATURE IS HEALING

okay so here's my summary of ibushi's latest 2 videos (here and here) from his youtube channel
pls make sure to read this at your own discretion. it's honest, but not exactly cheerful.
this summary is not entirely chronological; i've grouped some points together for cohesion
the vids were taken about 2 weeks after marufuji vs ibushi was announced, so around 12/17 ish (i'm just bringing this up bc i saw some confusion bc ibushi was reported by noah to be in the us rn until at least the 27th)
ibushi starts out the 1st vid by saying how completely different american and japanese wrestling are; the example he uses are cheers, [in aew] whenver anyone makes their entrance the crowd is chanting their name
in japan it has a different quality to it; [i assume he's talking about coming out at the noah show to challenge marufuji here] it's strange to him when he can only hear his theme and there's neither boos nor cheers, but he was glad it got a reaction
as for how he's doing physically: says he'll be frank: his left ankle and the back of his right hand (there's a visible dent on one side of the back of his hand and he says he doesn't have much grip strength there but for powerbombs and germans he grabs his wrist with his left hand so he can still do those) are fractured and his shoulder isn't healed cause he never got surgery for it
the ankle is the worst out of the 3, he can't jump or do highflying and walking 400 m (0.25 miles) is his limit, even walking around everyday is pretty rough
he's been able to benchpress 88 lbs now, with 200 as a one time thing, but he can't do much actual wrestling match practice, worries about what he can do; sums it up as that physically things aren't really on the up and up at all
but he believes marufuji is going through the same thing [being hurt in a lot of different places] and that the match won't be bad because of that; he believes it will be good precisely bc of the shape they are in, the injuries they've sustained
as he's said in the past, he doesn't care about what place he is on the card even tho ppl care a lot about match order, but he has the opportunity of being in the main with marufuji, so [he'll make the most out of it]
the ring remains a place for him to express himself, unable to highfly or injured as he may be, that's part of it too
he could go out there and be like "no i'm recovering i'm practicing hard everything's going swell" but that wouldn't change the fact that it's not true
he's doing what he can do get better, but operating within the limits of his body and how he can workout
even so, he won't give up and expresses confidence, [he seems motivated for the match and to go through with all of this], he's been doing this for 20 years and nothing scares him anymore
he says his instinct/6th sense for wrestling isn't as sharp [anymore] either since he doesn't really wrestle outside of aew these days, and again japanese and american wrestling are completely different and he's matching himself to wherever he wrestles, so he will do the same for the noah match
as long as it's getting a reaction out of ppl, he's happy; as long as he's getting something out of it he's happy, there's no right or wrong here for him
he's not nervous for the match at all, just hopes he can put himself out there in his purest form, so that ppl can decide for themselves what it is he represents for them/how they experience them
the video ends with him saying that he doesn't wanna be gloom, but if something unfortunate happens [i interpret this to mean another injury] this will be his last [match]
[he also then says make sure to watch his matches (since you won't know which one will be the last), and while i don't think he's lying with the sentiment here at all, my suggestion would be to take this as it is for now but not despair too hard about it]
the 2nd vid is mostly a recap of him seconding a kickboxer he trains for his match at korakuen hall on 12/17, interspliced with more footage from ibushi talking in the secret base
just as the fictitious "ibushi pro wrestling research institute" represents his status as a freelancer and a means by which he express himself in his purest form to ppl, it's also a means by which he can take on ppl under his wing
[ibushi has talked on twitter before how he has several trainees who are former/current kickboxers or MMA fighters wishing to become pro wrestlers] he thinks more of them will make their debut in the future; he's not doing this to boast that he's the one training them, it just naturally happened this way
even tho the ipwri is not actually a promotion, [ppl he's training and ibushi himself] get announced/lower third-ed as being from there, so it has established itself in the world
[there's a backstage scene here of ibushi talking to machida (machida lost the match) and altho there isn't much to tl (it's just ibushi basically giving him a pep talk), i still think it's worth checking out, it's very sweet]
lastly he says the institute is taking applications and as long as your feelings/motivations come across, he's happy to read them, even tho there are already too many ppl showing interest rn

Is There Actually A Media Literacy Crisis?
Something I am thinking about a lot is that supposed "media literacy crisis" that people talk about a lot online. Some people say it is real, some people say it isn't.
Of course I am in the strange condition of not being American and this discussion focusing mostly on America. Talking to some of my bald eagle loving friends, I know that most Americans get way less media analysis taught in schools than us Germans. Like, I kid you not: All I did in German and English and history class between 7th and 13th grade was analyse texts and pictures. NOTHING ELSE. And how that was very dependent on the teacher in terms of how much media literacy I actually learned would be a topic for another day. But I know that a lot of my US friends did some analysis, yes, but comparatively little.
I will openly say one thing: Despite being pushed through so much literary analysis in school, I probably learned more about media analysis thanks to the internet than I ever learned in school. Because while we did it a lot. Well, it was basically the quality of content that the Japanese schools have when it comes to learning English. Do they start in primary school? Yes. Do they then absolutely fail on building on the vocabulary and all? Absolutely.
In history class we did a lot of analysis of historical propaganda. But do you think we ever spoke about framing? Just as a very accute example.
I would however not quite argue that we have a media literacy crisis really. More... Well, I would say we have four other problems that are seperate from one another - but that will contribute to it appearing as if people are media illeterate.
People do generally not think about or inform themselves how the media they consume is created. They are not really aware of what goes into the production of a piece of media, that has more complex behind-the-scenes scenarios than a book. Movies, TV shows and games are the most notable example here. As such, folks are often not quite able to see how the influence of several different people working on a project can be felt - let alone be able to analyse how that might have influenced the end product.
A lot of the most widely marketed media is very much created by coorporations to extract money. While some of the people involved might have had something to say, the studio producing it just wanted to make something that they can sell, which often results in some watering down of more complex themes. Through this people have kinda forgotten to even expect themes in their media. (Yes, this is very much about the MCU and most of AAA gaming.)
Because half of the discussion of any piece of media now takes place in the arena of the culture war, people often just reduce themes - if they are there - to very superficial culture war readings. And this happens on both sides of the isle. While the on the right we have idiots going "they hate white men", because a movie does not have a white male protagonist, the other side will go "this is sexist" because in a show of mostly female characters, a female character died.
People just do not have the time currently to actually sit with a piece of media and everyone in the industry knows it. A lot of media is created to be "second screen content", aka, something that you watch on your TV while you are in home office and working on that stupid powerpoint. And of course you cannot really interact with that media the same, you would, if you watched it on a first screen basis, right?
And of course, then there is the fandom side of things. Because yes, the entire proshipping and antishipping thing is also very much a media literacy problem, that mostly originates with, well... How should I say?
It originates with the same stuff like the rightwing leftwing culture war: From people not touch grass. From people not being aware that the folks that scream so loud online are actually a minority. And most people who will ever engage with a given piece of media will just never write something on tumblr, reddit or twitter about this piece of media. They will just consume it... and move on.

Have you ever thought of writing crossover between twilight and Death Note ? And so what would the plot could be ? (Yes I'm in need of Edward getting owned by Light)
Well, we've done a few crossovers on the blog if those count. Otherwise not really, the thing about crossovers, is there has to be something for both crossed over parties to do and reason for their stories to intersect meaningfully.
The only thing I can think of is Light having, for god knows what reason, deciding to become a transfer student to America in his last year of high school to work on his English, somehow ending up in fucking Forks in Chief Swan's house, whose surprise estranged daughter shows up, and doing the Kira thing while stuck in the American sticks.
Light and Ryuk get to watch Bella's whirlwind romance with Edward Cullen while Light tries to decide whether or not Edward gets the name written down.
Bella's now in a love square between Edward, the hot Japanese transfer student Light Yagami who is perfect at everything except being a vampire, and Jacob.
Light has -100% interest in Bella and views her as he does most people he concludes are innocent, someone who shouldn't die but is in no way interesting or useful to him.
And also so very very dumb and the worst at picking men.
Depending on how weird Edward gets about competition, and what Light figures out, Light probably frames him for murder by having a criminal conveniently die in a way that implicates Edward. Nobody, not even the family given Edward's history, believes Edward isn't responsible.
But it'd mostly be a comedy of Light doing his thing on the side while Bella does hers, which isn't really in the spirit of Death Note.

ALLIE HIIIIII whoās your favourite wrestlers (TELL ME EVERYTHING) also do you pay for ppv or just pirate shit
HIIIIII EM, omg okay so this is going to be a bit long. But as of right now, I do pay for njpw world (njpw's streaming service) but, for past non-njpw matches, I've been trying to find them online. I love wrestling but, I haven't really gotten the burning urge to sit and watch a show lately :/ I'm going to put the rest under read more
I do loosely follow other promotions but, I don't reallly sit down and watch them, just watching clips and reading results.
For American promotions, I really like Mustafa Ali, I have loved him since 205 Live and I'm rooting for him because he's so cool and talented. I don't really have to many faves in wwe because I don't really follow it rip but, I have always loved Bayley and I like the members of Damage CTRL. Tiffany is sooooo talented I'm very impressed. I've always rooted for Naomi too. I also always like Kevin and Sami. When I was younger I loved, John Cena and Randy and the Shield, Finn Balor lol. My past faves were Layla, Eve Torres. I liked Ricochet from when he was in Lucha Underground. The Rey Mysterio of course. Carmelo and Trick have peaked my interest!
For AEW, I really like Takeshita! He's fantastic! Ospreay is good but I'm hot and cold about him. I've been mostly interested in Japanese wrestling lately. So of course I like Okada, Shibata, Riho, Hikaru Shida. Willow and Kris Stat are wonderful too. Queen Aminata has been really awesome lately. Thunder Rosa, I will always root for her. I really like Swerve and Hangman and of course this champion Joe. I do somewhat like BCC (Yuta especially I miss him!!) I like DG and Lee Moriarty. The Lucha Bros and Pac are a;so great. I also almost always root for fellow nyers like Eddie Kingston!
My main promotion rn is NJPW and they've been going through a transitional phase rn so you'll hear a lot of people say how it sucks but, I don't really agree. My faves are LIJ currently and I think BC War Dogs are cool. My main faves right now are the Reiwa 3 Musketeers who are (Shota, Ren, and Tsuji). Shota makes my brain go brrr I can't help it he's captivated me :)
#q&a#librapropaganda#theres a lot of great wrestlers and wrestling going on it can be SO HARD to keep up#im not the most knowledgeable but i do read up a lot about it :)#i definitely have way more favorites but its so hard to remember them all

ā¾ baby girl ā½ a college au.
ći know that you got daddy issues.ć
fandom: jujutsu kaisen characters: inumaki toge (afab!toge), ryÅmen sukuna (amab!sukuna, twin!sukuna) pairing: sukuna x toge universe: alternative universe (college!au)
genre: (mostly) fluff headcanons rating: pg-13 word count: 900 trigger warnings: nsfw mentions
more jujutsu kaisen ā more inumaki toge ā more ryÅmen sukuna ā taglist ā ko-fi
This is just a nice little surprise for @heartvexer. Hi darling, here's some AU for you. ā¤ļøā
Behold, one of the most cursed crackships of all time: our lovely Sukuna and his gremlin, Toge.
In this AU, Sukuna is Yuuji's twin; they're 21 and both got a sport scholarshipā Sukuna for (American) football, Yuuji for basketball.
Toge is 22 and is majoring in zoologyā He also has three minors, in music theory, American Sign Language (ASL) and Japanese Sign Language (JSL). He only chose JSL because he wanted that extra credit, otherwise he's fluent and isn't learning anything from his classesā Not that it's the professor's fault.
Sukuna is majoring in history and minoring in psychology and philosophy. Compared to Toge, who considers his minors as backup plans, Sukuna only has them as hobbies. Same for football, he's doing it because it's fun for now, not because he wants to become the best quarterback everā Although he's the best in his team.
No one expected Sukuna and Toge to be dating. Not even them. It all started as a one-night stand at a party, then one month later Yuuji is crying to Megumi and Nobara about these two making out on his bed (Toge didn't know it was his. Sukuna obviously did).
They are surprisingly the healthiest couple on campus right now.
They've been dating for almost two years now. They still make out on Yuuji's bed whenever Sukuna's feeling like being an ass.
Sukuna is only nice to Toge. Which is cute, funny, and lowkey terrifying, 'cause what do you mean it's the 5'5" gremlin getting the 6'9" monster to behave?
Toge proudly wears lots of feminine, girly clothes, leaning on the kawaii fashion aesthetic. That, or he's going full punk. No in-between.
Yes, Sukuna calls him 'baby girl' as a joke. Yes, it's also an official nickname now.
Just to be clear, Toge is genderfluid and mostly uses he/him and they/them but also really likes feminine terms. He rarely uses she/her, though.
Sukuna almost snapped at a teammate who was misgendering Toge ("That's your girlfriend, Sukuna?" "Yup." "She's cute!" "He is, yes." The teammate messed up at least twice more before Toge had to calm Sukuna down).
Don't worry, now everyone gets it.
Sukuna and Toge, lovingly and mockingly nicknamed "Sukimaki" (because it sounds like "Sushimaki", AKA Toge's username on social medias), both have lots of tattoos and piercings. More on them in another post, probably. I have lots of thoughts.
Sukuna has been learning JSL, quite fast too, so he could speak with Toge whenever the latter goes non-verbal.
Toge has daddy issues, which, according to Sukuna, makes him great in bed.
Those two are insatiable, someone needs to inject some tranquilizer in their veins so they stop fucking like two rabbits in heat.
Toge clawed Sukuna's back so hard once that Sukuna got teased in the showers after training. Now everyone in the team whistles and howls whenever Toge comes watch Sukuna train.
Sukuna reaches Toge's chest when he's sitting down, and fully takes advantage of that to hide his face against Toge's breasts.
Toge has a small chest, very cute, and likes to show it off with corsets. Sukuna is smug about how cute he looks, but also has that ominous look if someone stares for too long. Toge's aware of it, but he likes pretending he's cluelessā And Sukuna knows about it.
Toge is a pro at makeup, and loves going all out whenever there's a matchā Especially for the football team. Since they've been dating for two years now, Sukuna can easily guess which makeup took time to do or not, and what's an easy fix or not.
When he didn't know better, he once accidentally smudged some of Toge's eye makeup while roughhousing a bit; Toge ended up crying and he got called an ass by pretty much everyone, "because he spent 5 hours getting ready for you". He's now very careful with Toge's makeupā Unless Toge teases him about it.
They both have to remind each other to "be nice" whenever someone annoying talks. It's surprisingly harder to get Toge to act nice.
Sukuna's a picky eater, so Toge cooks for him and makes him bento lunchboxes.
One day, Sukuna forgot his lunchbox and Toge brought it to him while he was training; everyone howled at them. All Sukuna did was sit down, bring Toge closer with an arm around his waist, then snap: 'Too single for your girlfriend to bring you food, losers?!' Everyone went silent.
Toge pretended to ignore everything by petting Sukuna's hair.
Sukuna originally wanted a minor in linguistics, but his high school teacher was a bit too enthusiastic about it. It made him give up that idea, but Toge buys him linguistic books from time to time; Sukuna blabbers about it after sex.
Toge only tells Sukuna he loves him through sign language. JSL has its own version of "I love you", but also uses the ASL version of it (š¤š¼). When Toge showed him, Sukuna forgot his braincells and asked 'Are you a metalhead? Or Spiderman?'
Toge chuckled awkwardly and explained the meaning to him. Sukuna never felt dumberā Is that what being Yuuji feels like?
Toge told him to forget about it and Sukuna simply redid the sign. They do it from time to time now, always hidden thoughā It's a private thing.

Tristamp and Year in Review
I saw someone else speaking of their discovery of Trigun: Stampede and how it helped them through the year and only glossed over it. However, this anime was important to me this year. Trigger warnings: Death, grief, mourning, suicidal ideation and the fact that this was a generally shitty year. Personal stuff. Heartwarming "warning": Healing, reconciliation and a touch of nostalgia.
Where I was when I started the year: Laughing at Congress' inability to elect a House speaker (I follow American politics), working a shitty fast food job and looking forward, with some trepidation, to the Trigun reboot that my partner's adult nephew (also best friend) told me about, being an old school Trigun fan who had Trigun as almost her whole life back in the 2000s. I have a bookshelf full of manga, some even in Japanese even though I'm an English-only reader. I have a manga-book signed by Nightow, this is my level of dedication, even though I had fallen out of the fandom for a long time (my hyperfixations turning toward certain videogames - Zelda most prominently and my getting hard into She-Ra and the Princesses of Power for some reason. Spop was an obsession because I was a fan of the original when I was a kid (yes, Virginia, old people are in fandom). I got into the new series, mostly because I really loved Entrapta (mad scientist trope!) and was into a certain side of the fandom I now largely regret being in. I wound up having a falling out with a lot of people because a misunderstanding that lead to an accusation of plagiarism that culminated in me displaying actual symptoms of the mental illness that my "friend group" lied and said they were compassionate towards,* me being fairly harassing toward certain people and picking fights, (certain paranoid false accusations had me PISSED), people treating me like an emotional predator who was somehow "out to get them" instead of suffering a spiral. Someone screenshotting and putting up some suicidal ideation I'd posted on my blog that I'd deleted specifically in order to tell people in the fandom who weren't even in the drama that I was "faking it" and to not talk to me / exile me from the fandom. And that drove me over the edge - that thing. When I got back from the hospital, I was determined to remain in the fandom - making a new blog, doing my art and fics whether the gatekeepers wanted me in their precious fandom or not. (*Something I have learned in my long life is that no one is truly compassionate to the bipolar - not even other bipolar people. When we're a mess, we're a mess. Trust me, not even paid psychs are always prepared). This happened like, 2 years ago, but I'm still bitter. So, that's where I was, plugging away, embittered in an old fandom that I wasn't quite quitting because I needed to show myself, if no one else, that I was still standing. Looking forward to Trigun reboot and worried it would suck. Looking very forward to the new Zelda game, wondering if I could afford it when it came out. Watched the first Trigun: Stampede with my fiance / partner. He declared "It ain't Trigun" because he didn't like the new art style and some of it really had a different feel than the '98 anime. I was all "I don't really like how the SEEDS stuff is just right out front there rather than an unfolding mystery, but this animation is SLICK and I want to see where this is going!" 1/2

Hey, about the black Americans taught to hate our country.
Yes we and in many other parts are treated like shitā¦but so was everyone else. I meanā¦I donāt know their exact backgroundsā¦but people do know a lot of Japanese creators in the entertainment industry of Japan are mostly the descendants of the āpeasantsā not the feudal lords?
Just askingā¦I mean people know the sengoku period was about Japanese CIVIL WARS?
Hell what I heard another modern imperial Japan ancestry. Their ancestors ghosts probably go āyou got to be fucking kidding meā when they learn they have the same descendants
Sorry funny
But yeah we could use Bass Revees, Tuskegee Airmen, the Harlem fighters, as inspiration for black characters
āWe werenāt taught that in school!ā You honestly think career politicians like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden who heavily influence the education while they push for the tough on crime bill and ensure that black Americans are 75% born out of wedlock
Would teach the fact that many black people successful lives despite systemic oppression?
Not to mention the white liberals with their savior complex would fight tooth and nail and said we were nothing until the civil rights movement
And the feminists are damn sure not to mention the fact their ogs founders were racist af and made damn sure that black men didnāt get proper voting rights until the 60ās
Also learning what the government did to my community made me more anti socialist as hell
Also we bounce back that fast from the Civil hence our āmodernā American empire? Actually I heard Teddy Roosevelt say the Lincoln coffin tour when he was 6
But thanks, I wanted to used a American military outfit era that wasnāt colonial but not ww2-now
Also my Chimera republic (you know I just keep the us part until I figure out what to do with pseudo latam) is a combination of different American eras in a steampunk setting. As east coast have very colonial look with the rising art deco
While Midwest part especially the in universe Chicago is very art deco and rampant āadvance ā as I watched a video on the queen of nyc glided age and I realize how different my midwestern ass is to East coast
Of course the west coast have a lot of it Spanish influence. Actually your Californian (the good ones) can you help me out with that?
And yes Iām trying to figure what to do with First Nations as my chimera republic is a fantasy America were we drop the social Darwinism is shit and DIDNT do. The residential school horror show
Of course Iām just a 23 year old man with a HS degree. But Iām pointing out we got our own culture to take inspiration and not trying to force ourselves into Asian or European cultures like what modern black activists do.
People take offense at 'your experiences are not unique' it's wild and not limited to age, race, hair colour, nationality, disability, and so on.
Me being dyslexic there's stuff I'll relate to more than most people, but I know better than to say it's purely a dyslexic thing.
Just askingā¦I mean people know the sengoku period was about Japanese CIVIL WARS? Hell what I heard another modern imperial Japan ancestry. Their ancestors ghosts probably go āyou got to be fucking kidding meā when they learn they have the same descendants
They kept their slaves (peasants) after this one, not sure how many wars globally were fought in order to free slaves, only wars I can think of that were fought with the abolition of slavery in mind were waged by western nations. US, UK, and France specifically.
You want civil wars in Asia check out China
āWe werenāt taught that in school!ā You honestly think career politicians like Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden who heavily influence the education while they push for the tough on crime bill and ensure that black Americans are 75% born out of wedlock ect
Some of it there really just isn't time, they have to hit the big stuff and if anything catches your eye hope people have the ability to study it themselves, much more complicated before the internet at large.
Suffragettes were massive racists fighting for white women's right to vote, but that was society at the time.
Margret sanger founding planned parenthood as a way to reduce the black population was just evil, difference between the two is one was denying rights one was attempting to deny life.
Also learning what the government did to my community made me more anti socialist as hell
That's fairly common for people that study history.
The Chimera thing, ya there's all kinds of different influences all over the place when it comes to they way things are laid out and constructed and I'd be happy to help with the Spanish influence stuff San Diego has managed that better than Los Angeles, honestly CA covers so much different kinds of terrain and has different histories you can find most anything here, so long as you don't expect to be able to afford it.
And yes Iām trying to figure what to do with First Nations as my chimera republic is a fantasy America were we drop the social Darwinism is shit and DIDNT do. The residential school horror show
First Nations, this ain't canada. lol
I'm sure you'll come up with something
Of course Iām just a 23 year old man with a HS degree. But Iām pointing out we got our own culture to take inspiration and not trying to force ourselves into Asian or European cultures like what modern black activists do.
Amen to that

Remembered a thing from my childhood today, so I'm ramble posting about it just so someone hears about it.
It's known that France is a literal country of weebs. The French are the largest consumers of manga outside of Japan, which is at least partly due to the prominence of comics in the French-speaking world (bande dessinƩe), and the quantity of anime that was on TV in the 80s and 90s (through the show Club DorothƩe notably) has led to a few generations of enthusiasts of Japanese pop culture.
One result of that was Nolife. It was a TV channel that ran from 2007 to 2018, focused on 'nolife' culture, meaning games, otaku culture, technology, etc. While it was a pay channel, we just happened to have access to it at my home because it was included in our phone/internet plan, and I watched it a lot alongside the one other channel that catered to my interests, Game One.
The thing about Nolife was that they absolutely did not care to look for marketability, though. Game One, the bigger name channel that's still around, mainly covered things like current gaming news, the latest AAA games, sometimes showing big name shonen anime and mainstream pop culture stuff. Meanwhile, Nolife covered every single aspect of its subject.
They covered gaming news and reviewed games in their weekly show, but they gave the same screen time to AAA games as they did to obscure Xbox Live Arcade releases or Japanese games not certain to have American releases, let alone European ones. They gave a ton of attention to retro games, even series with no present relevance; there was even one show focused on superplays, aka score or challenge playthroughs, of mostly arcade games which is the only reason I even know the term. And it was all done with great care, too, always treating the subject and the viewer with respect.
They occasionally had manga and anime reviews and I remember sometimes seeing very niche anime series, but that was actually rare; a lot of their otaku culture coverage was about much deeper aspects like music, from rock (I heard supercell for the first time on there) to freaking idol groups (there was a popular idol who made regular appearances and hosted a small segment for years), and parts of actual Japanese culture, somewhat. You know those shows on Japanese TV where they have a celebrity visit a prefecture and go 'wowee!' at whatever tourist attraction or food specialty they have? They had something that was either an in-house translation of such a show or that they actually produced. It wasn't exactly great considering what these shows are, but it was certainly authentic!
And then, since they were more or less indies themselves, they gave a LOT of attention to indie works of various kinds as well. They were, as far as I know, the first channel in the country to air web live-action series. It gave a lot of attention and budget to works that couldn't really be financially sound if published on YouTube or elsewhere on the 2010s Internet ; notable names include Noob and Le Visiteur which have become franchises today.
I didn't always get the chance to watch Nolife, nor did I always understand or appreciate everything they showed when I was too little. But damn, do I cherish that time. Reflecting on it now, I think Nolife deeply affected the way I engaged with my interests later in life because it wasn't afraid to be niche and specific and treat niche and specific things with respect and attention. It didn't care to aim for the lowest common denominator and didn't assume its viewers ignorant, it just gave everything the coverage it needed.
Sadly, it didn't work out commercially in the end, as Nolife went bankrupt in 2018 after struggling financially for years; but its impact remained and there are still fans singing bardic tales. One person has been uploading segments from the channel to Youtube daily; they're up to over 1600 videos now. While it's not yet close to how much quality content was shown on Nolife in its lifetime, it's a great repository.
That's all. There's no big moral to this post or anything, I really just wanted to talk about this one French TV channel. No one outside of France would hear about it otherwise; I think it deserves to be known about. Thank you for reading.

Buckle in because this is highly spesific but so wacky that i have to share it. Idk if this is just some unknown facet of knowledge or if people don't pick up on this but:
In phantasy star online 2 there is a character that gives some missions but is mostly at the helm of the command center for the main hub of the world along with their 2 other freinds that do the same. Her name is Oranje, look
Okay, Anime lady that wears orange. Got it simple.
Except not
When I hopped into the game after my freind invited me to play with her and some other people she hangs out with, I rolled in and set off in my cosplaying adventure of scifi and filler level writing.
I'm already shin deep in this game and my freind takes me to a live concert in the game, a live concert, duh, by one of the npcs that had a cute and nice story attached to them after you save their people and watch her learn how to use basically singing magic like a Bard.
Why is this important? Because I mention how nice the song is and even know a few words by that point. This is different from my freind that dragged me in kicking and screaming into Sword Art Online 5, Dress Up Future. Why? Because them and every other rational weeb picked japanese for their audio option.
Did I? No. Was it a deliberate choice? Also no. Did I not check or even think about that until that moment? Perhaps only ghost remember.
We get back to the city and continue the story as they train me and show me spesifics of the game.
"Okay, now go to Orange."
".... Who?"
"Orange"
I search for the character until she tells me.
"She's next to Liu Lin and Rossa, they are with Crawford."
As I'm loading into the command center, it dawns on me. I remember all of their introductions and names
"Ohhhhh, you call her Orange! That's cute."
The silence was short but fragrant
"Y- Yeah, that's Orange."
I'm going to have to phonetically say this one because it blasted her with psychic damage.
"What the fuck is good Orange-a-nae?"
She laughs and doesn't think much past a wtf until I say it a few times.
"Orange-a-nae, why?"
"THAT'S HER NAME!
"Her name is Orange! That's not how you say it!"
"Elf daddy Crawford literally introduced them all! "
"I was there and her name is Orange! "
It went back and forth until we got distracted by the tasks at hand before A CUTSCENE PLAYS THAT HAS HER MENTIONED BY HER GODS CURSED NAME
Orange-a-nae
We found that in the other languages she's just orange, but good old American English rears it's heads again despite it all.
Literally no one else that plays that I talked to knows of this. I don't think they believe me, even after all this time.
But I will know
I will remember you
I will carry your name
Orange-a-nae
