Here’s a 30,000 word document about the implications of Brit’s promotion within the Marshford group and how it would lead to her eventual demise and also how she rose to the top in her group. It also delves into her relationship with Mallick, whose existence, I believe, is an obvious literary reference to an ancient Roman play read by only me and three other people currently alive. I translated relevant passages and included them in my work. I got understimulated around page 8 so I did take a break to pierce myself in the same spot that I believe Mallick would have a piercing. HOLY FUCKING SHIT HAZBIN WAS SO FUCKING GOOD IM GOING INSANE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKENFKCMKWJRKFNSMSMDMSMDN-
Okay. Okay deep breaths. Time for some cool and collected comentary. Okay.
Putting it under the cut so ppl can avoid spoilers :)
HUSK USED TO BE AN OVERLORD!?!?!?!?!? HELLO!?!?!?!?!? FUCKIN PLOTTWIST OF THE CENTURY WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?!?
Huskerdust my beloved
SIR PENTIOUS MY BELOVED
Vox was great. I love him he's so fucking cool-
If Vox wasn't already a Tumblr sexyman he's definitely gonna be one now. He's so fucking Onceler coded it's insane.
Velvette was amazing too. It's so funny that she's British lmao I was not expecting that
Velvette is also very Anne Boelyne(like from SIX not from Real Life) coded it's wild. Her part in that song with Carmila was giving so much Don't Lose Your Head
I swear I'll stop comparing them to other characters I SWEAR
Okay but me and my brother are working on a Hazbin Hotel swap AU where we swap the main cast with the overlords and in that AU we swapped Husk and Vox. The Husk used to be an overlord reveal is gonna make that AU soooooo much easier lmao
ADAM IS REALLY GOOD I promised I would stop comparing to other characters but he was giving SO MUCH Hades from Disney's Hercules like its insane
I think we should let Alex Brightman sing rocj and roll more often that song was such a fucking BANGER
SPEAKING OF THE SONGS- oh my god I love the soundtrack so fucking much-
Stayed Gone was a lil less hype then I was expecting but thats okay cuz it was still a banger and I loved the visuals
That song battle between Carmilla and Velvette????? Oh my god??????
Carmilla and Vaggie's song was also amazing but I think I know why they didn't have Stephanie Beatriz sing her own song in Elena of Avalor y'know, girl cannot hold a character voice while singing
LOSER WAS SO FUCKING GOOD- I love Huskerdust so much. I love Keith David so much. Blake Roman is such a phenomenal Angel Dust.
SPEAKING OF all the voice actors are amazing. Blake Roman, Brightman as Pentious and Joel Perez were the ones I was the most worried abt but I loved all their preformances so much it was fucking fantastic
Valentino can go die in a fucking hole <3
The other Vees are cool and fun to watch but I hope Valentino fucking dies
Okay to be fair he's also fun to watch when he's not in the same room as Angel Dust but tHAT DOESNT SUPERSEID MY HATRED FUCK 👏 THAT 👏 GUY 👏👏👏👏
Speaking of the Vees tho I do love their dynamic
My favorite episode was probably Radio Killed the Video Star bcuz of mY BOYS PENTIOUS AND VOX!!!!!!!!
And the most painful episode to watch was- no surprise- Masquerade
That episode was a fucking rollercoaster Jesus fucking Christ...
Those scenes with Angel and Valentino where so fucking visceral... like. Who the fuck wrote that. Who are you. Are you okay. Do you need help-
Tho I'm not sure abt how they're handling the ah- more serious bits of Angel's character. It is WAYYYYYY to early to tell and I think Loser wasn't like. Trying to downplay the situation. But the writers better have been careful moving foreward bcuz I can def see a world where Angel's arc goes very wrong very fast-
Also while we're criticizing: wasn't a fan of the pacing. Especially in episode two. Like I can look past it, but the way they breeze past some plot points kinda bugged me
Otherwise it was sooooooo fucking good man oh my god
THE HUMOR WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN PPL MAKE IT OUT TO BEEEEEE PPL NEED TO STOP SHITTING ON THE COMEDY IN THESE SHOWS MAN-
The gag where Niffty just fucking stopped thinking every time the camera turned on was so fucking good
Niffty in general was really fuckin funny
Alastor was a lot less prominent of a character then I thought he would be but tbh I think that's for the best. He's like Discord from My Little Pony, fun in small doses but if you don't set perameters for how often he appears and when he's willing to help it kinda breaks the show
Chaggie is adorable and I love them <3
I think this show does a really good job balancing the focus on the whole cast! These first 4 episodes seem to be pretty Charlie, Angel and kind of Vaggie heavy but everybody still gets their fair share of attention!
THE ANIMATIOJ OH MY GOD- IT WAS FUCKING PHENOMENAL IM LOSING MY M I N D
Im going feral IM GOING FERAL THIS EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AKFNVKKENFEKFNDN
I love comedy. I love musicals. I love drama. I love silly characters. I LOVE ANIMATION!!!!!!!
It's like the South Park movie but longer and better animated and IVE BEEN WAITING FOUR FUCKING YEARS-
Just. So excited overall. Can't wait to see where it goes. May make more posts abt my thoughts in tbe future.

Why does Crowley in season 2 have sideburns and Crowley in season 1 doesn't?🤔🐍
Because he's actually Elvis in S2. It's a theory I've been keeping to myself for awhile now because I was worried people might think I'd lost it but I feel comfortable enough now with all of you to share that I'm 150% sure that this will be revealed midway through 3.04, when Gabriel will return to tell Aziraphale that he forgot to mention it before he left for Alpha Centauri but he's had the real Crowley in a magical cell in Heaven since the end of S1. The one Aziraphale's been sleeping with since then is actually The King in disguise. (Elvis is supernatural so he can shapeshift, obviously, in case you were worried that I didn't think that bit through.)
Upon learning this, Aziraphale will pause, consider, then smirk and wiggle a little bit while making a dirty joke that involves the phrase "burning love", and then politely ask for his actual Crowley back. When Gabriel shrugs and says it's not his department because he doesn't work there anymore, Aziraphale's flaming sword will appear in his hand to match his rage. He'll slay Gabriel like Adam did the lion outside of Eden (because parallels, you guys...). The King-- who really didn't want to be a part of this and doesn't want to go on together with suspicious minds with anyone anymore-- chooses redemption, whips out his lethal banana (you gutter brains, it's an actual fucking banana...) and goes with Aziraphale to storm Heaven to rescue Crowley. David Tennant's really going to be stretched thin playing two characters at the same time in S3 atop all the flashbacks but we know he can make it work.
When they finally get through Michael (this takes about 40 seconds), our scrappy gang of Az, Elvis, a pair of ragtime singer ghosts played by Nina Sosanya and Maggie Service, and Crowley's two most emotionally damaged plants find the real Crowley curled up in the fetal position singing "All Shook Up" to himself (he and Elvis are permanently psychically linked now but don't worry, it's not a big deal, just a callback to the fly) and the dramatic score swells as Aziraphale rushes over and finally lays one on the real Crowley.
Aziraphale then recaps S2 to the real Crowley, who just stares. The only thing he reacts to is learning that Elvis snogged his girl. In a fit of rage, he has the Maggie and Nina ragtime ghosts (who are also angels, it's complicated) make him holy water and then hurls it at the demonic King of Rock 'n Roll, who lives long enough to sing: "Lord, Almighty, I feel my temperature risin'" before being eviscerated.
We might expect Frances McDormand to return here for this but she doesn't. We will be left wondering why The Voice of God didn't even show up to respond to the dying King and what that meant.
Except remember when I said that Crowley and Elvis were psychically linked?! Yeah. Crowley starts to die and Aziraphale sobs because, really, this was all very avoidable. This is when we all get wibbly because "A Nightingale Sings in Berkeley Square" covered by AI replicating the voice of Elvis plays as Crowley begins to draw the last breath he doesn't need to take. He dies. We're all sobbing. But it's okay because, as the final credits roll, Lord Beezlebub then appears, looks at the ridiculous mess in front of them, just says "this is so dumb", and then zaps Crowley back to life.
I don't know about you all but that really seems the most logical explanation to me. Especially since the alternative is just: "because he felt like it."
#ineffable husbands#good omens#aziracrow#good omens meta#good omens theory#good omens 2#crowley#i should probably stop drinking coffee#i love all our theories so much you know this is all in jest with big hugs

Hum I realized I haven’t shared any of my book recs on here. I know I should watch new bl. I plan on finding something in June.
Since I got broken up I’ve been reading lgbt books. My ex gf had been showing me things about being lgbt that I had never imagined before and without her I still wanted to learn to experience different stories. So I used my love of fantasy and sci-fi and started listening and reading as much as I could. I don’t really care for overly spicy things but I like when the characters are realistic adults. So keep that in mind with this list.
1. The House in the Cerulean Sea 10/10 Fantasy great characters and mc growth. Found family always gets me. The ending was perfect. I’ve listened to it 15 times and forced my parents and uncle to read it. I’m excited for book 2.
2. The Darkness Outside of Us. 10/10 Sci-fi Space. This book made me feel so much. Surprised me. Had me gasping for air in my cube to the point people had to ask if I was okay. Had me running to the car to cry as I listened to the last part. Go in blind and enjoy the space and gay of it all.
3. Dark Rise 10/10 Classic Fantasy It is incredibly rare any book surprises me. Most of the time I can guess the plot a mile away. Dark Rise hit me over the head a couple times had me crying. But it was so epic and adventurous reminded of the feeling I had reading David Eddings as a child. (Not that lgbt as I would have liked but… it was there I assume book 2 a lot more)
4. Iron Widow 10/10 Sci-fi Mechs Fantasy Post Apocalypse I adore a mechs and history. It was extremely exciting. I adore the main couple even though main girl is actually mentally unstable but you love her anyways.
5. The Extraordinaries 9/10 Superhero. The main character is lovably stupid aside from his ADHD which I can relate on. I loved the lesbian side couple. The story was fun felt like it was written for the early college me who loved superheroes.
5. Adam Binder Series White Trash Warlock 9/10. Urban Fantasy. It gives me flash backs to Harry Dresden and Iron Druid but not in the obvious way just in vibe. I love main characters being country. I’m from Mississippi not Oklahoma but I can relate to being a gay in a small town moving to a big city. I love the main couple. The mystery magic system was interesting. I wish it had a bit more romance actually. Just because I love the main couple and side characters a lot and want happiness. I wish I could get more people to read this one it’s wonderful a lot better than a lot of urban str8 fantasy I’ve read and it was my main category for years. The mystery element was decent. I need to start book 3.
6. Ocean’s Echo 8.5/10 sci-fi mystery the main characters are… so wonderful. They are extreme but I love them so much. I’ll protect them to the end of days. I have this book over it’s… I guess in the same universe book Winter’s Orbit because I think the mystery suspense is more intense in Ocean’s echo also much more spacey sci-fi. Romance is also arranged marriage but is VERY different from winters orbit. I wish… I wish this book wasn’t associated with the other because it gets unfairly compared because the narrator is the same etc but Ocean’s Echo is great in its own right and is definitely not a copy
7. Winter’s Orbit 8.5/10 MYSTERY sci-fi edging on fantasy. Arranged marriage. Slow burn. These characters are also 10/10 I love them. I have experienced an abusive relationship before and appreciated seeing a character with the scars a similar past. Often if a character is portrayed as in an abusive relationship they focus on the event but it effects Everything in your world. Even now I have these scars after 8 years. I loved the mystery it was the main focus which I liked. The romance felt natural.
8. Fragile Remedy 8/10 one of the first books I read it made me cry and was a good single dystopian gem. Had a real… divergent hunger games kind of vibe to the world from what I remember.
9. Lightning struck heart 7/10 classic fantasy this is what I said on my insta at the time “It is an extremely comedic fantasy adventure with wizards, unicorns, knights, and dragons. Right up my alley! However the ending was disappointing. I'll listen to the next book in the series and hope it improves. Just found character arch unbelievable in last chapters.”
10. A wish upon a star by tj klune ^follow up books I read like 4 of them 5/10 I did stop listening to it this is what I said on my insta “Well I continued listening the tales of verania series and made it to the original end of the series. I'd say if you want a gay fantasy comedy without too much thinking Listen to the audio. Narrator is the biggest part of why I didn't quit. Idk if I'll read the other books though it is very friendship is magic smooth brain ideas I've read”
Unable to finish (been desperately trying to find a lesbian story and finding nothing)
Girl, Serpent, Thorn 4/10 my review from insta “Unable to finish it. The world is interesting. The first 3rd seemed promising but after major conflict the writing goes way down. But the MC doesn't grow. The f/f is so shallow it made me roll my.eyes until I had to stop listening. Wanted the bad guy to win and kill everyone”
The Midnight Girls. So intensely annoying and childish. I couldn’t do it I think I made it to chapter 3 but it was a struggle.
In the ravenous dark. I got to one third of the audio book and had to stop. The universe was okay but main girl was very annoying. Was kind of hoping her and the ghost would be together not… not the weird bullshit that was going on. Idk what the end of the book was going to be but it was not for me.
I’ll post another with my current to read list. I’m really going through them now because I have to drive two hours a day to and from work. Give me your suggestions though please thank you.

Keith David recently complimented the hb cast saying when he’s with them he’s in the presence of something beautiful. I think that’s really sweet, because yes, the vast majority of the cast of HB seem like very kind and passionate people. I’m really glad Keith is having a good time, and tbqh I’ve never really had an issue with the cast.
But weirdly there are already people saying shit like “you just KNOW the Hazbin haters are mad lol” and that Keith said Hazbin was his favorite role—
FIRST—It’s really weird that they assume people who don’t like Hazbin think Keith needs to be “saved” or some shit? Keith David is a grown ass man who can make his own decisions. He’s a very very talented individual, who has been in TONS of movies and shows, and has done a lot of really amazing voice work. He’s the best performer on HH imo, and while I don’t like Hazbin Hotel personally, I find it downright bizarre that Stans would assume that we’re like…mad at him or don’t think he can make his own choices??
SECOND—the clip that was circulating did not show him saying Hazbin is his favorite role, he said he’s in the presence of something beautiful with the other cast mates and crew while working on the show (which tbh, I agree with—I really love a lot of the actors/actresses on the show, and I think, all things considered, they did a good job with what they were given. I’m of the opinion that the voice director did a pretty bad job, as a lot of the seasoned VAs on the show sounded kinda off, but I digress)
And hey, if he DID say that on a separate post or clip like. That’s okay??? He’s allowed to like the role??? If it’s his favorite role that’s great!!! That doesn’t automatically mean that everyone who’s ever criticized or disliked Hazbin is wrong in their opinion.
There’s like. This weird insistence I’ve seen in Hazbin Stan spaces where they point to the professionals who have worked with Spindlehorse or started in Viv’s shows and are like “SEE??? THIS REALLY TALENTED PERSON WAS ON THE SHOW!!! SO IT MUST BE GOOD!!!!”
And I mean. That’s still all subjective. I’m so sorry, but it is!! Idk how to tell yall this but great actors and artists have been in some really really bad movies. It’s not really an indicator of if something is SURE to be well written or made. Again, all subjective, but like. Idk Keith David is very very much allowed to think Hazbin is the greatest story of all time and his favorite role ever, and I’m very much allowed to disagree with him on that, but still enjoy his body of work.
My favorite performance of his will always be Childs from John Carpenter’s “The Thing”, but that’s just, like, my opinion, man!!! Who cares!!! Maybe Keith hated that role! That would make me a little concerned, because I’d be worried that he was treated badly or was struggling during the filming, but if it turned out he just didn’t think it was a good movie? That’s okay!!!! Him not liking his part in it wouldn’t take away what I like about it.
Just had to vent that. I really really hate when fans or critics bombard actors from shows in any way, either by being overly familiar in a really parasocial way, or by acting like they’re “owed” something from them.
Either way, love Keith, not a fan of Hazbin personally, and that’s an incredibly normal cold take to have that for whatever reason some people apparently cannot fathom. It’s kind of sad to me that people will see an actor compliment a show they like and immediately go “PEOPLE WHO DONT LIKE THIS SHOW MUST BE SO MAD RIGHT NOW HA!!” Instead of being like “aww yay, I’m so glad the actor enjoys the character”
(In the same way, I really loved Adam Sandler in Hotel Transylvania and Fifty First Dates. Doesn’t mean I have to love every single “grown ups” film, or defend “Jack and Jill” as high art cinema. I don’t understand why people don’t get this Chai. Anyway! Have a great night!!)
Even if we discount the fact that Keith David was probably (rightly) treated like a king on that set just because he's an old guy and Keith David, what the hell do they think he's going to say? "I hope this show and everyone involved with it gets fucked with an iron stick?"

i keep getting miku on my fyp so in honour of that:
which of the redacted boys like, are neutral/unaware of, or dislike hatsune miku?
* all personal opinion. if you disagree that’s completely ok!
forewarning: this post is a mess
who likes miku?
the biggest mf miku fans, in my humble opinion, would be geordi, guy & marcus. all for different reasons.
geordi actively likes miku songs, engages in fan works of miku, and is a generally big fan.
guy isn’t a miku fan because he likes her music or anything, but instead it’s because he finds her incredibly ‘iconic’ & interesting. he’ll sing her praises for the meme and insist she was the one who made minecraft.
marcus is simply a nutcase.
other miku fans include:
• gavin, who was introduced to vocaloid music by freelancer. he likes her a lot. caelum follows this same process.
• asher, who found good vocaloid music in his late teens & never really ‘grew out of it’. even so, i don’t think he’d ever tell other people about liking it unless asked prior.
• flyboi ivan feels like the type to have heard a song involving miku in passing and being like ‘damn this kinda hits’ and later finding it online and going down a rabbit hole (pun).
• lasko moore who’s been a huge fuckin fan for the longest time and, upon finding out freelancer enjoys hatsune miku as well, had to act Incredibly Normal
• elliott, who was introduced to it by his partner as well and started adding certain songs to his playlist over time.
• and anton, who either was recommended certain songs by his lover or heard in passing and found a liking for the ‘genre’.
who’s neutral/unaware of miku?
by neutral I mean ‘has no defined opinion’ & by unaware i mean ‘hasn’t heard/hasn’t identified any vocaloid/miku songs before’.
the biggest ‘meh’ people of miku in my opinion include blake, damien & david. all for different reasons, naturally.
blake has heard vocaloid, but finds since he doesn’t understand it necessarily (both as a language thing & a concept), there isn’t much to look into.
damien knows of hatsune miku, but it’s the case of being overexposed to it which causes him not to want to engage. maybe he just needs a bit of encouragement or recommendations?
angel certainly has listened to hatsune miku & enjoys it, but david isn’t necessarily interested. he doesn’t like or dislike it.
others neutral on miku include:
• camelopardalis, who’s been recommended songs but never really clicked with them
• huxley, who doesn’t really ‘get it’ the way he gets certain other music (but he isn’t opposed to listening more and forming a different opinion!)
• milo greer. man hasn’t found that song for himself
• ollie, who used to be a big fan but now finds that he doesn’t like newer songs compared to older songs.
those unaware of miku include:
• brachium.
• hush
• sam collins
• avior
• morgan kyne
• vincent solaire
who dislikes miku?
the biggest hatsune miku HATERS include hudson, kody & aaron. all for varying reasons.
hudson used to listen to miku songs so much that eventually he got sick of them and cannot listen to one without missing how it used to hit before. if anyone plays one unprovoked he’s immediately outta there.
kody, like the hater he is, just dislikes fun. dislikes miku as a character, as a vocalist, as a music tool, as everything. awful.
aaron never got it, and finds the ‘hype’ unnecessary. he’s never really gotten into that sort of music anyway.
others who dislike miku include:
• james. just doesn’t care, man (would be way different if his spouse liked her)
• adam, who i feel is the type of guy to only like one genre and detest every other genre ever.
• porter solaire, who heard one song & disliked it, so he didn’t delve into anything more
• regulus. idk. he just doesn’t like anything i think.
• vega. who cares???
other
alexis solaire finds a guilty pleasure in vocaloid. especially miku. specifically miku.
one time brian found marcus listening to vocaloid during work hours and just sighed
lasko vs kody: miku wars. who’s winning?????
that’s all 🦉

S1E4 – Saturday Morning Funtime Write Up P2 - Saturday (The last day of the World) from The Fields of Megiddo to "You're better off without him."
Given the rather abrupt interruption I made to the previous part of the write up for this episode, let’s just get stuck straight in and pick up where I left off. Other than the lovely implication that selfies are the work of the devil, there’s only one thing I want to talk about in relation to this scene, and it’s the music. It’s been a while since I waxed lyrical over David Arnold’s soundtrack, so I’m sure it’s about time I brought it up again. We can hear a piece of incidental music playing throughout the conversation between Hastur and Eric (or Junior Demon if you’re looking at the original script), the character of which perfectly underscores the tone of the conversation. There are three sections to it – one for each iteration of the disposable demon, each growing less playful than the last (represented by the harpsichord in the orchestration). What I especially love about this little piece of music is that if you listen really, really carefully, you can pick out some instances of the motif from the theme music (played by a glockenspiel). It’s a lovely reminder of how much music enriches our experience of film and television without us even realising it.
Without giving a blow-by-blow description of what’s going on in the episode (which I’m sure you’d agree would be tedious both to write and read), I don’t have much to say about the next scene either, other than pointing out Anathema’s pathological desire to feed the kids whenever they appear. It makes me wonder if she’s like that with everyone (in which case Aziraphale would probably adore her) or it’s just children (in which case, creepy). It is interesting to see that Adam’s nature is starting to be corrupted by his powers – where the consequences were previously of a childlike innocent nature, they are now starting to manifest in his attempts to dominate others. We also have confirmation that the change in his nature is now being noticed by others in his vicinity.
Hastur’s next scene, other than providing some lovely moments of perfectly delivered black comedy, forms a mainly narrative purpose, serving nicely to remind us why Aziraphale was so incredulous at the Antichrist being left with an American diplomat’s family in the first place – they’re abhorrent. The Dowlings I mean, not all Americans. Or even all American diplomats. Not that I know any American diplomats to say any different. Anyway. We also see how quick Hastur is to come to the (correct) conclusion that Crowley is to blame for this monumental cock up. Given that Hastur shows his dislike of our demon just prior to the baby switcheroo 11 years earlier (and who knows how long he’s actually felt that way), it’s almost surprising that it’s taken him this long to find something concrete against Crowley.
Alright, Easter egg time! The scene of Crowley in the cinema has a couple. Let’s start with the one glaring at us from the movie theatre screen.
That’s our episode title, right there in front of our eyes! I don’t know whether these creepy little rabbits were always intended to be holding the banners and this is where the episode title came from, whether the episode title came first, or whether it’s somewhere between the two but I love the meta-reference nonetheless. Whilst we’re on the topic of those weird little fuckers, has anybody stopped to wonder why, in the name of all that is and isn’t holy, has Crowley would pick this film to watch? I know we get that deliciously dark sequence of a bunny massacring another bunny as a result, but it’s an odd choice for the demon you have to admit.
Second Easter egg:
The only other audience member in the movie theatre, in case you didn’t already know, is played by a certain Neil Gaiman. Who also happens to provide the voice for the cutesy-wutesy bunny rabbits on the screen. It’s tempting to ask the same question about why on earth an adult man would choose this child’s cartoon to watch, alone, on a Saturday morning but really I’m just chuffed to bits that they found a cameo for Neil.
As a quick side note, I also want to point out that the attention to detail has not been neglected in the cartoon – the frog (toad?) on Hastur’s head can be seen gesticulating in line with his speech. Not to mention you can sporadically hear a “ribbit” in the background. Bloody genius.
Back with Anathema (who, for once, does not offer her guest any food) and Newton, there’s an interesting return to the idea that the same word can be used to convey different meanings dependent on its recipient. Remember back when Adam showed up on her Anathema’s doorstep and she renamed herself to accommodate his preconceived ideas? Well she switches right back to calling herself a witch here, for the exact same reason, but with Newton instead. In fairness, he’s playing the same game in calling himself a computer engineer. And whilst I appreciate the need to remove matches from this particular individual, I wasn’t actually aware that he had any, though we do know he has firelighters.
Side note: there is a note written on a newspaper article pinned on the board in this scene:
It might be nothing at all, but if anybody has any suggestions as to whether there’s an Easter egg to be found here, I’m all ears.
Moving on into Adam’s rapidly increasing decline into his true nature, the only thing I have to say about the scene with The Them being dragged through the woods is that the speech delivered by the aspiring Antichrist here is incredibly relevant to current day.
Everything’s being killed or used up and no one takes it seriously. Everyone thinks somehow it’ll all get better again.
Makes it rather difficult to argue with him, doesn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe global extinction is the way to go about fixing things, but his point is valid. And from a child’s perspective, it might actually seem logical that the way to solve the problem is to just start everything from new.
OK, I need to take a moment here to do a little bit of an outline, because for some reason, my brain really struggles to comprehend the timeline of the Crowley and Aziraphale scenes for the rest of this episode. Which isn’t so unusual, given that we don’t see them all in chronological order, but there’s just something about these scenes that I find hard to make them piece together into a whole story. So, here’s the sequence as I understand it:
Crowley visits the movie theatre, where he discovers that Hell knows he has something to do with the Antichrist mix up.
Crowley goes to Soho to try and convince Aziraphale to run away together.
Aziraphale is confronted on the street by a group of archangels, telling him he has to choose a side (complete with a threatening wall slam).
Aziraphale attempts to talk to God, where he discovers that Heaven intends to have their war, regardless of any external circumstances.
Hastur and Ligur arrive at Crowley’s apartment (probably concurrent with Aziraphale talking to Metatron) to “collect” him.
Aziraphale calls Crowley to tell him he knows where the Antichrist is (and presumably to suggest they do something about it together), approximately 28 minutes after his attack.
Shadwell enters the book shop, triggering the Aziraphale’s discorporation and causing the fire to start.
Crowley leaves his apartment to go and get Aziraphale having heard the voicemail he left. This may or may not be after Aziraphale has already been discorporated.
I think that’s it. Even now I feel confused about it all, and I have no idea why. I probably didn’t need to spell it all out quite so explicitly for anyone other than myself but hey, this is my write up, so my rules.
OK, let’s move on to another horribly painful exchange between Crowley and Aziraphale, shall we? Before we get there though, it would be remiss of me not to talk about the Bentley’s registration plate. I *think* this is the first time we see it properly, as it’s obscured by the front bumper in most of the shots in episode 2.
It’s a pretty poor picture, but the registration is “NIAT RUC”. As in “curtain” backwards. As I understand it, this is a reference to some writing on the wall of a mausoleum in “Monty Python’s Meaning of Life”, paying homage to Terry Gilliam (one of the Monty Python members) who was involved in the first attempt to bring Good Omens to the screen.
Alright, first question about the upcoming scene. Why doesn’t Crowley just park the Bentley in his usual parking spot and go looking for Aziraphale? We can be pretty sure that the only reason he would be driving through that particular street in Soho is going to be something to do with Aziraphale. The space across the book shop is empty when he drives past it, yet he barely slows down to take the corner. Why not just park?
Next question about the exchange that takes place between our hero pair. What exactly is Crowley apologising for? By my reckoning it was Aziraphale that delivered the deciding blow during the breakup in the previous episode, even if his reasons were honourable.
My money on the answer to this question is that Crowley is in full panic mode at this point. He knows that apologising is likely the only way he’s going to be able to spark any sort of conversation with Aziraphale, hopefully taking him so off guard that he simply does as instructed. And it nearly works – you can see the angel’s relief when his shoulders relax.
He’s desperate – why else would he offer such a carte blanche apology for “whatever he said”? The fact that Hell have finally twigged to his involvement has sent him into full flight mode and the only thing he’s stopped to collect on his way out of dodge is the only thing that really matters to him – Aziraphale. He doesn’t believe he has time to talk about it – it has to be now and he’s asking Aziraphale to trust him. As a human resident on Earth, I feel obliged to side with Aziraphale on this one, seeing as he’s still trying to find a way to stop the obliteration of the human race. But that doesn’t make the rejection any less heartbreaking, even though he does seem to give it a micro-second of consideration before he digs his heels in.
And can we just take a pause on Crowley’s choice of words for his plea? “Run away together”, that’s what he says. This is such a clear indication of the true nature of their relationship to me – running away together is generally not the sort of thing people entertain in a platonic way, is it? Noticeably, Aziraphale doesn’t reject the idea of being “together”, which further serves to the idea that they are already familiar with exactly what the connotations of the word, and that it’s something he’s comfortable with. His rejection is actually grounded in the fact that he thinks he can still persuade the powers that be to just call the whole thing off by simply talking some sense into them, so he brushes Crowley’s panic off as “ridiculous” (side note: the music kicking in at this point should tell us that this discussion is on a road to nowhere – we’ve got slushy strings in a minor key again). What he fails to realise is that even if he can by some miracle (no pun intended) actually pull that off, Hell will still be looking to wreak some sort of personal revenge on Crowley for his involvement in the Antichrist mix-up. Crowley hasn’t forgotten that though, you can see the panic written all over his face as the realisation that Aziraphale isn’t on the same page as him.
What Crowley has failed to realise is that he’s not the only one panicking. Aziraphale is on that train too, but he’s taking a very healthy dose of denial with him. He simply cannot contemplate the possibility that the whole situation can’t be fixed. Crowley’s pleading might be painful to hear but I find it harder to watch Aziraphale’s version of the same emotion – you can almost hear him screaming at Crowley, trying to explain how terrified he is and how much he needs him on side.
Let’s not forget that Aziraphale desperately wants to be a company man. He wants to believe that his side is the inherently good side. That everything they do can be justified by sound moral decisions. Asking him to stop believing that would undo everything he is and ever has been. Even if it is completely ridiculous. We shouldn’t forget that because Crowley, in his panic, does.
You’re so clever. How can somebody as clever as you be so stupid?
That one little line, emotionally vomited as it is, conveys so much about Crowley’s feelings. I’m trying to think of another instance where he reveals an opinion he holds about Aziraphale, particularly one that is complimentary, and I am coming up blank. Admittedly I don’t know the entire script by memory (probably not far off) so I wouldn’t swear by it, but I think those three words about Aziraphale’s intelligence are exceptional as far as Crowley’s talking of the angel is concerned. And then he has to go and spoil it by calling Aziraphale “stupid”. There is little doubt at how affronted he is at that particular term.
We all know what’s coming next. Aziraphale’s very own stick-the-knife in phrase to counter Crowley’s use of the “s” word.
It’s not the first time we have seen Aziraphale express a desire for Crowley to be forgiven, but it is the first time we see him actually offering forgiveness. When I watched this scene through for the first time, I found myself wondering what Aziraphale thinks he’s forgiving Crowley for, but having seen the fleeting looks of panic on his face we’ve seen throughout this conversation, I think it’s for not understanding he needs him to stay, for not hearing the subtext he has been trying to convey. I also happen to think that Aziraphale actually uses this 3-word phrase as a coded way of telling Crowley that the conversation is over, nothing more to discuss, not unless the demon makes a compromise. I will be talking about that a fair bit when I get to its use in the Final 15, but for now let’s just say it has its desired effect – Crowley’s response is one of frustration and the discussion is indeed over.
What I find interesting is that Aziraphale appears to be confused by the reaction he gets, before the pain of watching Crowley walk away again sets in. It’s almost as if he realises he might have misjudged the situation, failed to understand how frightened Crowley is, and I think we can see real self-doubt there for a second before the demon delivers the final blow as he characteristically runs away from the difficult situation.
I think there is likely a bit more than a literal meaning to Crowley’s statement that he’s going to be “off in the stars”, particularly given what we saw of Lesley demise earlier in the episode. As briefly mentioned, the concept of entities residing within starlight at the end of their mortal lives is something that Neil uses in other works too (and not just in his work – this idea can be found in varying guises across multiple faith systems). Perhaps this is part of the reason Aziraphale is so reluctant to go with him? Either way, I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say that Crowley is clearly bluffing with his departing line, and knows he is.
WON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT YOU GIF
The whole dismissal feels full of holes really, after all, why on earth why would you need to go and get anything at all if you were planning on leaving the planet? Why didn’t he just take the things he wanted when he left his apartment on his way to Soho in the first place? Honestly, I don’t think he thought he’d entertained the idea that the conversation with Aziraphale would have resulted in anything other than them joining forces again, one way or the other, but the fact that he announces to Aziraphale that he’s going home says to me that he has no intention of doing anything other than that. He knows he has to reassess his options now that he doesn’t have what he came for. And how much do we all love that passer-by? He sees their relationship for what it really is, just from a single line of heated argument.
I’ve been there. You’re better off without him.
Importantly, Aziraphale doesn’t try to correct him in his assumption that they are a couple. And the passer-by is wrong of course, we all know that Crowley and Aziraphale are much stronger when they’re together. Better together you might say. Even Aziraphale knows it.
Right, that’s the lot for this part! As usual, comments, questions, discussion, always welcome. See you next time 😊

Jealous Dan Stevens' Characters Headcanons
A/N: A little more for Herr König than the rest bc I'm excited. But yeah, I'm kinda back. Sorry, I've been so busy. Also, tell me if I can give Herr König a name! It would make it easier for me to write.
Pairing(s): Travis "Trapper" Beasley x GN!Reader, Adam "Frank" Barnett x GN!Reader (Separate), David Collins x GN!Reader (Separate), Herr König x Reader (Separate)
Contains: Mentions of unwanted advances, jealousy (obviously), mentions of guns, Confident Frank, Nervous Trapper, David being... crazy, MY FIRST TIME WRITING HERR König
Frank
Frank is definitely the jealous type. He craves power & he wants you to be his & only his. You're very important to him & he doesn't know what he'd do if he lost you. Especially if someone stole you away from him.
He is also the kind of guy to play off his jealousy, or better yet, pretend he isn't jealous. He'll give you a smirk or a scoff & simply state, "Me, jealous? Look at me, Y/N!"
If someone is casually flirting or being nice, he doesn't worry too much. But he will watch. He trusts you, but he doesn't trust the person flirting with you. If they touch your arm or so much as compliment you, he's wincing & looking for alcohol. He doesn't want to control you.
If someone tries to make an unwanted advance he's right there in seconds. He's got you behind him, one hand on your arm & another ready to grab his gun. Frank likely towers over whoever is flirting with you. He sounds polite but everyone within earshot knows his true feelings. He wants to rip this person to shreds.
"Well, hello. I don't believe we've met, I'm their boyfriend."
"Now is that how we treat someone as lovely as this?"
If he feels the guy hitting you is particularly douchey he'll address himself as your husband, despite you guys not being married. It brings him great satisfaction to call himself that, your husband, & it usually gets the particularly annoying ones to back off.
Trapper
Trapper is a sweetheart. If he gets jealous it's going to be hard for him to tell you. You're just so perfect in his eyes, of course, every human on this planet can see it. He tends to get pretty quiet when he's jealous. Not because he wants you to notice his absence, but because he gets so nervous.
He likes to stay attached to you if he can. Even if you're turned away from him at the moment he likes to keep ahold of your hand. If you're facing the same way his arm will be around you in one way or another.
If you introduce him as your boyfriend he'll perk up. A wave of energy & excitement enters him & he gets all bubbly. He's safe, he knew he could trust you. He just gets anxious sometimes.
If someone gives you unwanted attention though, he's not afraid to assert himself. His fear with jealousy is upsetting you, or not being enough. But he's dealt with Titans, some random creepy guy is nothing.
He will mostly de-escalate & get you out of there, get you safe. But he is completely willing to fight for you.
David
David has a short temper with jealousy, but he is very methodical. He won't get mad at you but he may get short with you, which is very noticeable.
Simple no's or yes'... mostly no's to any of your questions. The reason he's short is simple. His hand is in his pocket, clutching his flip knife with an iron grip, vividly daydreaming of the things he could be doing with the flirt that stood opposite you.
Once you notice all you have to do is redirect your attention to him & things will lighten up. He will still be staring daggers, or flip knives, into your admirer.
David has some sort of toxic masculinity bullshit that is usually under control, but if he feels like he's competing with a man for your attention he might start acting more animalistic. Puffing up his chest, showing off his skills, showing that he is the better man.
But again, once he feels safe in your love, he's back to his normal still kinda crazy self. A simple hand on his cheek & a soft kiss is all he needs to wrap right back around your finger, his attention solely on you.
Herr König (Opinions on me giving him a first name? I kinda want to)
Herr König tries to eliminate all jealousy possible. You live together in his villa & spend most of your time at the resort. But he does like to treat you to dinners or show you around the nearby towns. It brings him joy to show off his amazing partner from time to time.
One thing he especially likes to do is take you dancing, it's a hobby of his. Occasionally you'll even take lessons together. He recognized immediately that the star "student" in the class was attractive. He also noticed them taking glances at you, sparking up conversations about your day to day life, but never acknowledging your quiet German partner.
That's all anyone really knew about Herr König, because he really only spoke to you... in German. He didn't feel that he needed to speak to anyone else, especially your not-so-secret admirer. It felt like a subtle way to show his disdain for the dancer.
There's a time in the class when you swap partners but Herr König would just pretend he couldn't understand your admirer when they asked for your hand to dance. "Es tut mir leid. Sie sind verheiratet. (Roughly: "I'm sorry, they are married.")
Much to Herr König's chagrin, & he swears it was due to sabotage, in the middle of one of your lessons he slipped. He managed to catch himself, somehow, but it did not look smooth. You were worried when he acknowledged his pain but he tried to brush it off. Soon enough your teacher came up & suggested he sit off to the side & ice his foot. He only listened when you agreed that it was what he should do.
& sure enough, that star student saw his chance & swept you away. You had fun, you were smiling... as one does with friends. But your man was livid. He tried to stand but the pain grew to become unbearable. He began plotting to have this person disappear. He could use the cuckoos, yes, that would go nicely.
Your hand on his shoulder drew his attention upward. You gave him a quick peck before offering to help him up. You wanted to go home, dancing wasn't the same without your partner. His stomach filled with butterflies before accepting your invitation to an early exit.

It's kind of depressing when you realize out of Team RWBY, Weiss is the only one who get's constant development. Ruby doesn't get any character development until maybe Vol 4, and it was still sporadic at best. Yang and Blake got some good development up until Vol 7 where it feels like if it didn't involve Bumblee, then they didn't get anything (And in some cases you could argue going backwards...). So, this might be my bias talking (Weiss is best girl), but Weiss is the only one on that team to me that got anything in a constant enough rate. Only time I think she didn't develop was in Vol 9, but that was Ruby's time to shine so I'm not really upset with that one.
Yeah, when you think about it, there really wasn't much character development for any of the supposed "main characters" of the series, especially since they're also the titular characters.
Ruby's character development was like a David Cage game of Beyond: Two Souls, showing us Ruby's highs, lows, lows, lows, and LOWS of her character development, all before circling back to a HIGH just in time for her series to get canned. It's a sad sight.
Blake's character was centralized on the White Fang. She was in the White Fang until she left, then she finds out the White Fang are up to something in Vale to the point that it exhausts her, then she helps stop the White Fang in Vale and Mountain Glenn, then Yang was framed, and Blake thinks she's becoming Adam again, then the White Fang attack Beacon and Adam cripples Yang so she runs away to Menagerie to protect Yang and everyone she knows and learns the White Fang are up to something in Menagerie until she breaks everything up in Haven. Things go right for Blake overall until Adam shows back up and she and Yang murder him with no consequences. It is from this point that Blake's character arc with the White Fang ends and her entire character now becomes Yang's girlfriend. I've said it before and I'll say it again; Blake is the worst girl of Team RWBY.
Yang's character trait is that she has no character trait. None that's ever properly established. She's Ruby's sister and/or mother figure, but hardly interacts with her. She likes to party and get into fights, but we don't see her do either. Her mom is a bandit, but we don't know if Raven really loves Yang or not. She lost her arm to Adam, but she didn't really learn anything from that whole experience; again, nothing that we can see. And now Yang's character is Blake's girlfriend. I put Yang higher than Blake only because what story COULD be told isn't just the same story over and over.
So, now that I've gone over some issues of the others, let's talk about Weiss' character arc. Weiss is physically scarred by a trial set by her father in order to get into Beacon, and once she arrives, she's an uptight spoiled brat who expects to be handed the position of Team Leader. After she's humbled by Professor Port, she steps up as Ruby's second-in-command. She's pursued romantically by Jaune, whom she rejects outright multiple times until Neptune shows up, whom she romantically pursues until he starts flirting with other girls in front of her, though Jaune helps Neptune ask her to dance, and from there she and Jaune are on better terms as friends (which can be seen in V3 when he calls Weiss after getting out of the locker Pyrrha shoved him in). During V3, she's approached by her sister and financially cut off by her father. After the Fall of Beacon, she's forced to return home and is basically put in a sort of Brittney Spears house arrest, where she's only allowed out by her father to do whatever he wants her to do (I think that's what happened, I'm not really aware of what exactly happened during the whole "conservative house-arrest" thing from a few years back), until she escapes and is then captured by Raven until she's rescued by Yang. They then go to Haven and reunite with Ruby and Team JNR, and once Blake comes back, Team RWBY is back in full swing!
Okay, I think that's enough to make the point, but I do want to bring up something that is going to piss people off, because of course it will. It's about Weiss' likely endgame ship, White Knight. I said before that RWBY doesn't know how to do romance, but... Looking at the character developments of both Jaune and Weiss and they just somehow start leaning closer and closer, contrary to how they started out. Like, I know I'm not the only one seeing two characters with full-developed characters starting to get closer, so how is it that BMBLB sucks so hard with their story if it's the canon flagship?
Don't believe me? Think about what I was talking about with these characters. Do you know what the biggest difference is between the stories of Weiss and Blake and Yang? The answer is that Weiss actually has a story. Blake and Yang just are just... two halves of one whole. Weiss is completely independent of Jaune, and yet they both managed to grow without each other. I'm no relationship expert, but if you're relying on another person to have a character arc, that's not a healthy relationship- That's codependency.
Oh, but what do I know? I'm just an idiot on the internet who makes incorrect quote posts. My opinion is invalid and should be tossed out and disregarded. Tata~!

Meet the makeup wizard who transformed Sebastian Stan into ‘A Different Man’
By Josh Rottenberg
At the tender age of 5, Mike Marino saw “The Elephant Man” for the first time and his life was forever changed. When David Lynch’s haunting and heartbreaking story of the disfigured John Merrick would air on HBO in the early 1980s, Marino found himself horrified but unable to look away, sparking a fascination with prosthetics that would eventually lead him to becoming one of Hollywoods top makeup artists.
“I was so afraid of it, but little did I know how beautiful that story was and how much of an imprint it would leave on my brain and soul,” says Marino, 47, who earned consecutive Oscar nominations in 2022 and 2023 for his makeup work on “Coming 2 America” and “The Batman,” the latter starring a totally transformed Colin Farrell. “If it wasn’t for that film, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing.”
But for actor, TV presenter and disability rights advocate Adam Pearson, Lynch’s film took on a more painful role in his life. Growing up in England with neurofibromatosis type 1, a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on his face, Pearson was often taunted by classmates who cruelly called him “Elephant Man” and other names. As he got older, he saw how movies routinely depicted people with disfigurements as freaks, villains or victims, stripping away their humanity. “There’s an element of laziness to it,” says Pearson, 39. “How do we show this character is evil? Let’s slap a scar on them.”
Now, through a twist of fate, the lives of Marino and Pearson have intersected on a very different project: the darkly funny, mind-bending psychological thriller “A Different Man.” Directed by Aaron Schimberg, the A24 film stars Sebastian Stan as Edward, a shy, disfigured actor working in New York City who undergoes an experimental procedure to transform his appearance, only to find himself losing the role he was born to play — himself — to a cheerful, outgoing man named Oswald with his same facial deformity, played by Pearson. Renate Reinsve (“The Worst Person in the World”) co-stars as a playwright whose latest work brings Edward’s identity crisis to a head.
“A Different Man,” which The Times called “a self-deconstructing meta-pretzel of a dark comedy” following its debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, tackles complex themes of identity, beauty and disability with a blend of Charlie Kaufman-esque surrealism and David Cronenbergian body horror. Along with Stan’s performance, Marino’s meticulously crafted prosthetics are key to bringing Edward and his inner agonies to life, reflecting the deeper emotional anguish of a man trying to escape his own skin.
“The movie portrays how the shell of who we are should not dictate our spirit and our personality,” Marino says. “I think it’s a very important film, much like ‘The Elephant Man’ was.”
When Schimberg first wrote the script, inspired by his own struggles with a cleft palate and his experience working with Pearson on his 2019 satire “Chained for Life,” he initially had no idea how he would actually pull off the film’s demanding prosthetics work. “I was sort of blissfully ignorant,” says Schimberg. “After Sebastian came aboard, we started cobbling the film together very quickly. It was only about a month before shooting that I realized this film was going to completely fall apart if we didn’t get this right. It was very down to the wire.”
Signing on as an executive producer for the film, Stan asked around about makeup artists in the New York area who could handle such a difficult job under that kind of time pressure. One answer consistently came back: “Literally everyone, hands down, was like, ‘You’ve got to get Marino,’ ” the actor recalls.
Though he was already busy with a job on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Marino, who has done his share of more fantastical creatures, leapt at the challenge of re-creating a real-life disfigurement like Pearson’s. “I’m fascinated with people that have something going on with their skin because it’s just the most interesting, artistic, natural thing,” Marino says. “For me, there’s an amazing beauty to how Adam looks. This was not about a scary face or a monstrous person. I don’t like to do things like that with no soul or purpose.”
Marino’s passion for makeup and prosthetics took root early in life, inspired by industry legends like Dick Smith (“The Exorcist”) and Rick Baker (“An American Werewolf in London”). Growing up in New York, Marino started honing his skills as a preteen by practicing on his friends with latex, foam and various chemicals, destroying his bedroom rug in the process, to the chagrin of his parents. While still in high school, he mailed his portfolio to Smith and received encouragement and advice by phone from the makeup legend, who won an Oscar in 1985 for “Amadeus” and earned an honorary Academy Award for his life’s work in 2012. “Once he acknowledged me, it was like, OK, this is serious. There was no stopping me.”
After cutting his teeth on “Saturday Night Live” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Marino broke into film with the 2007 psychological thriller “Anamorph” and quickly became known for his versatility, seamlessly switching between fantasy creatures and more subtle, realistic applications. His work on Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan” amplified the film’s psychological horror, while on Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman,” he enhanced the film’s digital de-aging of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino with carefully crafted prosthetics.
Outside of film, Marino created the Weeknd’s plastic-surgery-gone-wrong look for the singer’s “Save Your Tears” video. “It’s all problems to solve,” Marino says. “There is no playbook.”
Diving into “A Different Man,” Marino used photographs and 3D scans of Pearson’s face, which has undergone some 40 surgeries over the years, as the basis for a multi-piece silicone prosthetic that would work with Stan’s features. “There was no way I could completely replicate Adam’s exact proportions,” he says. “I had to make some aesthetic choices.”
While the makeup work in “The Elephant Man” benefited from that film’s grainy black-and-white cinematography, the prosthetics in “A Different Man” had to withstand more unforgiving scrutiny. To put his Edward face to the test, Stan would walk from Marino’s makeup chair to the set through the streets of New York and crowds of strangers, giving him tremendous insight into how people treat those who look different.
“I went to my old coffee shop and the same barista who’d served me for years couldn’t identify me,” Stan recalls. “I got to really feel people’s reactions in real time. There were people who couldn’t even look at me, other people were staring and sometimes you’d get a bigger reaction, like, ‘Oh s—, it’s the Elephant Man!’ As Adam puts it, you feel like public property.”
Pearson, who shares his character’s sunny gregariousness, encouraged Stan to think about it like he does with his own experience as a movie star. “I was like, ‘You don’t know the level of invasion I get with people pointing, staring and taking photos, but you do understand a very similar thing from this angle, so lean into that heavily,’ ” he says. “ ‘And if it makes you uncomfortable, lean into it further.’ ”
While wearing the prosthetics, Stan could only see out of one eye and had limited hearing in one ear, challenges that helped further inform his performance as a man who has learned to shy away from potential threats and insults. “Edward is a character that has had to endure a lot of emotional abuse and probably some physical abuse, so he is probably always on his left foot a little bit in case something happens,” Stan says.
As Edward’s face changes following his radical treatment, Marino made additional prosthetics showing the transition, including an “extremely soft, mushy version” that, in a particularly Cronenbergian scene, Stan could pull off in chunks.
Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot in “The Batman,” work for which Marino was Oscar-nominated. (Warner Bros. Pictures)
Marino’s talent for transforming stars is on full display in Farrell’s hulking, thuggish look as the Penguin in 2022’s “The Batman” and the new HBO spinoff series. “When Colin saw the sculpture I made, ideas started exploding,” Marino says. “Once we did a makeup test, it was magical — he knew how to speak, how to walk and he was already the guy.”
Marino, who is preparing to make his directorial debut based on a script he wrote set in the 1980s (“It’s deliberately not effects-heavy,” he hints), has lost none of his passion for the transformative power of latex and silicone since the days he was obsessively poring through issues of Cinefex magazine as a teenager. “If you think of Michelangelo showing beauty 500 years ago in painting and sculpture, I’m still showing that same beauty but in this new hyper-realistic way, in silicone,” says Marino, who named his makeup effects studio Prosthetic Renaissance. “It’s a very unique art. It’s like moving sculptures and paintings all at once.”
As for Pearson, if he were offered an experimental treatment to change his face, like in “A Different Man,” he says he wouldn’t take it. Despite the challenges it has brought him, Pearson believes his face has shaped the life he leads today.
“I joke with my friends that my disability does a lot of heavy lifting for my appalling personality,” he says with a laugh. “Everyone thinks it’s hard to go from non-disabled to disabled but I think the other way around would be even harder. The path we walk and the struggles we go through make us who we are and they’re inseparable from one another.”

i know nothing about Les mis, how is it canon to the shaperaverse?
I saw this in the evening and was like "no im too tired to answer this" so now that it is a normal hour for using my brain (3 in the morning) I shall try to provide an explenation!
Basically. The way themes and characters work in les mis is EXACTLY how they work in the Shaperaverse minus the meta worldbuilding.
The narration of the book itself feels like its own character (it isnt said explicitly but that character is probably the author- victor hugo, much like how paul shapera himself also cannonically exists within the shaperaverse) and said narrator has a personality and famously goes on tangents.
There are also characters that seem to be aware of the existance of a narrative and CONTROL IT within the book. It is something the fandom talks about a lot and its never explained in les mis with worldbuilding, its just there, but it functions the same way posthumams in the shaperaverse do.
This goes for themes that connect characterd - the character of fantine and the characters of enjolras famously share perallels and their arcs complete eachother! Several people in the fandom have said that they would like to see versions of the musical where both are played by the same actor, and my friend chana @ofpd literally made a post that goes "enjolrad appeared as a 17 year old revolutionary the day fantine died". There is an understanding in the fandom that those characters are connected to eachother in the same way reincarnations in the shaperaverse are conmected to eachother, but there isn't the worldbuilding of the shaperaverse to make it "canon".
(I actually wrote a fic about enjolras being a reincarnation of fantine with the help of @underwhelming-universe . And we basically had to just write in the worldbuilding parts, because the characters were already perfectly set up by victor hugo to have the reveal! It fits so neatly its actually insane. )
There is even a character who gets their worldview shattered, and jumps off into the siene, which is very rmeinicent of flowering of posthumans like david adams.
The themes work exactly the same, minus the in-work worldbuilding, and fans keep talking about how characters work in a way that is literally JUST the shaperaverse without the worldbuilding.
And if you take the worldbuilding of the shaperaverse and apply it to les mis, it fits perfectly.

Random movie ideas:
1) A comedy-historical movie about the real life event during the Russo-Japanese War in which the inept Russian Baltic Fleet embarked on a disastrous voyage to Japan, only to get slaughtered completely. David Harbour (using his Russian accent from “Black Widow”) plays Admiral Zinovy Rozhestvensky, who spends the entire movie pissed off that his crew are basically the Three Stooges. (If you want to know more about this event, watch Bluejay’s “The Dumbest Russian Voyage Nobody Talks About” on YouTube)
2) A dramedy about two college dropouts (played by Taz Skylar and Joe Keery) who attempt to make it big as indie game developers. Troy Baker cameos as himself during a scene in which he’s asked to be part of a game that the developers are creating.
3) A mystery/crime movie centered on a NYPD detective (played by Oscar Isaac), a FBI agent (played by Pedro Pascal), and a private investigator (played by Amy Adams) in three different investigations. As the movie goes on, the three stories eventually connect when the protagonists realize that even though they’re investigating different crimes, they’re tracking down the same killer (played by Tom Holland).
4) Metallica biopic, starring Chris Hemsworth as James Hetfield, Giovanni Ribisi as Lars Ulrich, and Jake Cuenca as Kirk Hammett. (I don’t have a fancast for the other band members right now)
5) A thriller/semi-horror in which six individuals (played by Jon Bernthal, Samuel L. Jackson, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Stephanie Beatriz, and Jenna Ortega) all wake up in a barricaded room where the door is set to a timer. They receive a message that the door will open after 3 days and that all the group has to do is get along with each other. That seems easy on paper, but the thriller part comes in when the group realizes that they were specifically chosen because their captors knew they would tear each other apart.
As a hypothetical: Bernthal’s character is a racist xenophobe who brags about killing illegal immigrants and somehow getting away with it. Ortega’s character reveals that her father was killed by a “crazy white man”, which turns out to be Bernthal.
Another hypothetical: Jackson’s character says he’s going through an intense divorce since his wife admitted to having an affair. Liu’s character is the mystery man who was engaged in an affair with Jackson’s wife.
One last hypothetical: Pugh’s character is a Christian fascist while Beatriz’s character is an atheist anarchist.

Rate the various portrayals of Batman and Bruce Wayne :)
I’m gonna rank all the live action Bruce Waynes (that I have seen moderately recently) for this, cause otherwise I’ll be compiling every piece of Batman media I can think of all night.
Feel free to ask about anyone not mention if you want my opinions. And if you’re wonder, Kenvin Conroy was the MVP, and will most likely always remain my number one Bruce. ❤️
Christian Bale (Nolan)
No notes. I will not be taking critism at this time.
2. Robert Pattinson (The Batman)
Perfect emo boy Bruce Wayne, cannot wait to see where they take him next. A bit different to the comics, not perfect, but things don't always have to be the same. Variety is good. Also a big Twilight fan, so I'm bias.
3. Adam West (Batman)
So much of what we know the character to be now is influenced by Adam West. I know it's much more of a comedy portrayal, and the older the show gets, the more outdated and this humorous it becomes but that doesn't erase what it was at its time. When people ask my favourite live action Bats, I always say West.
4. Michael Keaton (Tim Burton)
These are the Batman films I grew up with, and while I no longer stan Burton, I do still love these films. Dark, campy, action, pizzazz! Keaton does a great job at portraying to 2 main personas of Bruce (Prince of Gotham Brucie and broody man in a batsuit)
5. David Mazouz (Gotham)
Gotham overall was just a good show, perfect level of camp and grit. In the later seaons they really pushed the characters into things that were not necessary for the Batman story yet, but he did a good job with that he had.
6. Ben Affleck (Snyder)
He has the look. He has the perfect Bruce Wayne face fr. Preferred him as Daredevil though (I will die on this hill, Daredevil was a good film). Didn't enjoy the films, not his fault.
7. Val Kilmer (Batman Forever)
He's so pretty. The films are good. But otherwise nothing special.
Honorable mentions:
Iain Glen (Titans)
I watched Titans, I can't recall a thing about this guy tho which leads me to believe he was neither terrible nor outstanding. Can't accurately rank based on that.
George Cloony (Batman & Robin)
I know I liked the film, and I know I didn't like him very much. But it's been such a long time, I can't remember my reasonings.

Hi! So, first of all, you are one of my favorite blogs and i adore your analyses on ST. So, because of that i thought i could share this thing i just found out a few days ago... sorry in advance if it gets too long.
I'm a computer science student, and a few days ago in one of my classes my professor started talking about the evolution of technology and specifically computers (i know this sounds irrelevant but).. as he was talking he mentioned one specific company that caught my attention - Sinclair Research Ltd.
Since i'm obsessed with everything Stranger Things, i decided to check on it. Apparently the were big in the scene in th 70s-80s these days they mostly do research. Since it was computer related i decided then to check for Henderson, since he is the one most related to computers.
This took me nowhere, but i was adamant to find something. Anything. So i decided to move on to the next.
I looked for anything Wheeler related in computer science. And get this;
In the 50s, David Wheeler invented a way to jump through different parts of a code to do different operations. Like, if in the middle of your code you want to sum two numbers, and that's something you'll need to do over and over, instead of writing the same code for the operation over and over (which would make the program heavier) you create a subroutine, you leave a trail to follow, say, a dummy number. The program jumps, to where you want it and then after it it goes back to where it was before, or wherever you want it to go.
Now, the interesting thing about this jump in the subroutine is its name.
This is called a 'Wheeler Jump".
Now, since the upside down is stucked in 1983 and to hide from Vecna you need a happy memory, a memory of light, which implies the past, how we are thrown off by the painting being of the party and not the swingset as many Bylers believed, the weird monologue which i find like a bad copy paste from the one in the shed and how Vecna is related to clocks, i believe Mike is gonna jump. Here could go some thought about Mike jumping from the cliff in season 1 and how Ted asked Mike in s2, if one of his friends jumped if he would jump too. I do not even know what could any of that mean but I've read theories on Labyrinth, Back to the Future, flickergate, and Mike going missing and lettergate. It could be any of those, or none of them, because a coincidence could actually happen.
My personal bet goes to:
We've seen Mike trying to send a message-a code- (his real feelings), but because of dummy actions they were sent the wrong place (his platonic feelings were sent to were the romantic ones were suppose to go and vice-versa).
Anyways, Mike jumping could possibly have a lot of meanings, so i thought to share a weird base (?) for anyone wanting to use it in any theory or something.
Hi, anon! <3
I’m not that of an analyst really, but thank you for your sweet words and I appreciate someone like the stuff I come up with at times.
The things you wrote about are SO INTERESTING, thanks for sharing it with me!!! I’m sure there MUST be connection between “Wheeler Jump” and Mike’s character, especially considering that Mike has got that poster of a man with computer in his basement. The man who happen to be Charles Babbage. The one who is credited with inventing the first mechanical computer. The one who is referred to as “father of computing.”
What made me even more excited about everything you’ve mentioned is:
- David Wheeler is credited with the invention of the subroutine, which is referred to as the CLOSED subroutine (and Mike is in the CLOSET), and gave the first explanation of how to design software libraries (I see librarygate everywhere, lmao);
- he was born in Birmingham and the Cali crew went to Bingham’s house so Suzie could help them with the number to trace the computer’s location in s4 (Mike comes up with that idea). Not to mention Suzie was the one who told Planck's Constant in s3 which was the code the commies used for the safe in which two keys were. The keys needed to stop the machine from opening the gate. To CLOSE the gate. And in the beginning of s4 Suzie also hacked into Hawkins school computer program to change Dustin’s grades (he is later shown discussing it with Mike during).
“Mike trying to send a message/a code (his real feelings), but because of dummy actions they were sent to the wrong place (his platonic feelings were sent to were the romantic ones were suppose to go and vice-versa).”
So, basically, Mike got lost in his own feelings because of his closed subroutine that theoretically should’ve made everything easier for him??? Suzie helped him with the number (the number=Mike’s feelings) and there’s one person in the show who says “I’m good with numbers.” Erica Sinclair. Erica, who drinks Minute Maid Grape Juice that is a reference to Queen’s music video on the song “I Want To Break Free.” Erica, who refers to Lucas as Jason’s boyfriend in the most careless and normal way possible. And there’s so much more. She mentions Nintendo to Jason and then the Cali crew (Mike & Will in particular) is lying to Suzie about the same goddamn Nintendo (oops, sorry, Americantendo). Erica, who’s on the poster RHE HEART with the rest of the party (x).
Also, Will’s school project was about Alan Turing - mathematician, computer scientist and codebreaker.
Unfortunately, I can’t go deeper here because I’m a total zero at IT and maths but everything you’ve mentioned is related to the code and one more code in the show is “when blue meets yellow in the west.” What also serves as a code in ST? Music. I already wrote about how the Duffers use the songs and original soundtracks to tell us more about what’s really happening in the show and to deliver the message that is somehow sensitive. Something they wants to make a huge plot twist for the GA. Mike’s orientation. He is in the CLOSET. If music is a code for us to better understand the show and the characters, it means that characters’ Spotify playlists are as much important as the show itself. @lesbianmindflayer analyses both Mike’s and Will’s playlists so I highly recommend to subscribe on her YouTube channel and follow her here. Almost every song on Mike’s playlist is about running. He’s running form his true self. Do I even have to mention “Smalltown Boy” being the first song on the playlist?
In s4 it’s said “Music reaches parts of the brain words can't.” The Duffers don’t use plain text to say “Mike Wheeler’s gay” or “Byler endgame”, but they use music for that. “Being in the Closet (at Rink-O-Mania)” is one of many examples of how they’re doing it. Not to mention other queer coding such as ONE WAY sign, closets etc.
@bylerschmyler @there-was-a-hole-here-itsgonenow your additions always make every post better so I’m really interested in your thoughts on it!
