I'm on chpt20 and I want to study SQQ like a bug. My man is flushed, hair down, robes literally falling off his shoulders, LBH on his lap playing with his hair and kissing him... and he finally cottons on to the fact that maybe this isn't how you have a platonic and important discussion. Enforces it for all of five seconds at which point LBH starts massaging his waist and SQQ is back to being like "yeah this is fine and normal". Amazing. Can't believe he insults the IQ of SQH's characters.

#fanart#sketch#my art#bnha#shigaraki tomura#tenko shimura#kurogiri#I cried a bit while playing it I missed the classic LoV I missed Kurogiri WITH the LoV it's been so long :(#and it feels like last chapter (423 atm) broke the seal of sketching them as anything but something static#it took me two or so days to just understand that Kurogiri is... yeah#I can't believe it took Horikoshi so long to bring him back but as I said and will say it again I glad it happened at all#after some thought I just want to sit with the chapters#anyway getting the preordered book was so much fun#it was full of LoV from Toga and Dabi talking about her house to Tenko being upset over being told that he doesn't have friends#and everything in-between basically only Compress left to join in the next volume#I think????#I actually want to get another one already they're so goodddd#and the translation sounds pretty good but I checked some pages not the whole book it'll be boring#it's actually so weird to think that I started a goal of reading the whole series ad it was now officially coming out like this back in 201#and now it's 2024 and the translation is pretty much ahead of anime and maybe it'll be faster than viz volumes too#since it's 2 in 1 basically - I think it's really great since I save some money but get LoV chapters every time#because they appear every 2 books at the start of the series and back then it was hard for me to get them#but I felt content seeing all the books that I bought when I was visiting family for holidays this month because there are so many of them#and I don't need any wi-fi or internet in general to read them back to back now with an addictional volume#they have some mistakes but I don't mind them it feels good to just hold all of them (and a bit heavy after like 8 books) and now it's 18

i checked the italian blind run that apparently is very popular in the IT community. and. was anyone.
so was anyone. was anyone going to tell me in this version dusknoir asks if his existence had value.
his line about saying with full sincerity that life is marvelous.
why didnt i hear of this until now i crave to know every little difference between translations so i can cry again and again over the same guy.
#i love all the other translations dont get me wrong#there hasnt been any new content of futuee trio in 10 years i need to sustain myself somehow#no but fr 'now that the end is approaching... i can say without hesiation... and#with full sincerity... life is wonderful'#hey localization team wtf#i like other translations where dusknoir specifically says hes not wavering up till the very end#that he lived#its concise yet unflinching. a state of fact. despite all the darkness that surrounded him and he tried to perpetuate#in the end he lived. his existence happened. thanks to grovyle he can embrace the life he had and let it go with no regrets#but this IT version where it feels a little more abstract and less individualistic doesnt turn me away either#it puts the focus a bit away from himself to make a more encompassing statement: life is wonderful#living is wonderful#i dont think its inherently better or worse. i appreciate the difference. i think celebi says sth similar afterwards too#btw i teared up while taking the screenshots thank you in the morning sun#btw x2 idk italian so thank god these structures were so close and similar to spanish and latin#pmd2#pmd dialogue

one thing i think is very funny about severance is them redoing famous paintings to fit into their whole founder cult thing.
like them stealing the pose from “Wanderer Above a Sea Of Mist” . Also Irving and the O&D guy having an almost…… obvious reaction to the ‘sublime’ (as in they found it beautiful but terrifying) which was a big theme of Caspar David Friedrich’s art and especiqlly evident in this piece. but also it is unlike Friedrich’s work because it turns his rükenfigur (a figure facing away from the viewer which is also a recurring theme in his works) into a figure that Does indeed look back at you.
German Romanticism was also very focused on finding God in nature (it was a kind of attempt at reigniting christian religious fervor) so its apt to include it in the way that Lumon’s whole deal seems to draw very heavily from christianity.
No idea if the background is taken from somewhere else (they look like the great lakes to me?) I just really love Caspar David Friedrich.
also the mussolini facade vs that big relief sculpture. maybe theres a better analogue but this was my first thought.
anyways I think its fun in the way that the symbolism is kinda heavy handed lol. Or maybe I only feel that way as an art history student idk. But I do enjoy when a show can give me a little of that kind of reference …… IF they do it well.
