15. My favourite AU I've ever written is probably Love Game and it's associated fics. I'm a real slut for AUs though - I think ALTA (my current WIP) may be one of my favourites.

47. SHOES. oh my god. If Speak for Yourself was a pair of shoes it would be something capable of getting stuck in a NYC subway grate. Because it happens more than once in the fic!

Why does shadow’s son cinder look so different from the rest of his family

This is me asking where did the orange come from

I just like to play around with color theory. Orange is still in the red color family (Shadow and Aurora) and in my AU’s family tree, Amy’s lineage consists of warm colors including yellow, so that’s why I made him orange.

I am absolutely floored to have been so lucky to get another of my fics bound. There is really nothing like holding a whole literal book that you wrote in your hands, and the art of fan bound books on top of that? Just overwhelmingly awesome. Thank you so so much @sweatersinthesummer for this gorgeous volume!

I also wanted to share this photo of my copy at home with the copy of my OTHER spy novel, bound by @serpentsnestpress / @mirilyawrites for me. Going for a full bookshelf someday. 😉

Bound: Nova, Baby by @cha-melodius

For the @renegadepublishing bound book exchange, I was delighted to get a request from my recipient (@serpentsnestpress) for a Red White & Royal Blue fic written by @cha-melodius - excited because I made a podfic of one of her fics, so obviously I'm a fan!

I hadn't read this particular fic yet, though, and I didn't read it until after I completed the typeset. I was wondering how much I'd "get" of the fic by typesetting it, and it turns out, not very much! You'd think that looking at the words and reading random sentences here and there would give you a good idea of the plot, but I was extremely delighted that the fic still delivered a lot of surprises when I actually read it!

I had a vision for the design once I read the summary, and I really love how it came out. I wanted to give it a kind of retro 60s kind of feel. Did it come through? I dunno. I hope so! I'm in love with the typeface I used for the cover and chapter headings. It's called Metallophile Sp8.

One copy went to my exchange recipient, the other to the author. I hope they like them!

The first time Vash calls you ‘baby,’ it’s too soft to hear.

He does it when you aren’t looking, too distracted by the notebook in your lap. You’re looking beautiful in the morning sunlight, and, he doesn’t know, it just hits him to call you it.

It’s a whisper. A hint of a word. It rolls in his mouth like a marble, smooth and warm. He’s afraid to spit it out. Instead, his lips meet twice, a formation of what he wants to say: Baby.

You don’t see it. Definitely don’t hear it. He clears his throat and goes on to ask what he meant to: “Do you want jerky or a granola bar for breakfast?" To that, you respond with a hum and an answer, missing the way he grimaces at his own cowardice.

Agent Henry Fox-Mountchristen is an asshole. Alex is 90% sure those exact words are going in this mission report. Yeah, they’re supposed to be objective when writing this shit up, but that isn’t his opinion. It’s a fact. A not-asshole wouldn’t have taken one look at Alex and promptly ignored him when Alex had approached him at their designated meeting spot. A not-asshole wouldn’t have sighed when Alex offered to buy him a drink and haughtily informed him that he was meeting someone before turning away again. Alex had just bitten back saying, yeah, me, asshole. It was worth not giving himself away just yet to learn something about the person he was supposed to be working with for the next few days.

CIA agent Alex Claremont-Diaz and MI6 agent Henry Fox-Mountchristen don’t exactly get along, but that doesn’t keep their respective agencies from insisting they work together as partners. Then a mission in Colombia changes everything, and their relationship begins to shift and grow into something that neither of them ever expected… and something that could have deadly consequences.

Chapter 370 Spoilers

The chapter was super cute but also…

He was totally talking about love right? He brought him out to a private area to look at the stars with Iruma, was nervous the entire talking to him, and was like, wow I feel such warm feelings around you. And then Iruma was like, oh that’s just what you feel about friends! Obviously that’s what you are feeling! Like Iruma pls 😭. Iruma is giving major autistic and/or aro vibes. My boy CANNOT tell when someone has feelings for him, my poor baby. Or? Another idea is that he feels such feelings for Clara and Azz and just can’t tell the difference between love and friendly feelings 👀. But anyway, sorry for the friendzone king, but congrats on being the village’s chief.

ALSO!!! This panel pls 😭

We’ve rarely seen Azz cry? I think there’s only been one time we’ve seen him cry and that’s when Clara turns them into kids to get their feelings out. So the fact that we get to see him cry really hits. Azz is always the one that has it together, always trying to make sure he’s in control of himself and his situations. He’s just so competent and in turn, this makes him close himself off to portray this image. But here, in a moment of vulnerability and sadness, he cries. Now, he’s obviously trying not to. Iruma and Clara let themselves bawl while he’s trying to hold himself back. But even still, he can’t help himself. It’s clear he’s going to miss the many-ears and Nova too.
