It wasn't known by the Hermits, at least not very well known, but everytime someone joined the server a copy would be made.
It was some odd quirk of code, an old addition that didn't know what to do then broke down. It formed its own home, mistyped and rushed code that resulted in a merge of the three dimensions.
Splintered islands that went on forever. Nether wrapping around itself like uncomfortable tunnels. The Overworld's trees were gnarled and starved.
Grian's Hels copy didn't have a name, he didn't even have an identity, he was simply blank.
Which was a mix of funny, odd, and even sad. He'd been there for years, started the same process all creatures of Hels went through, then suddenly stopped.
He guessed it was almost fitting, his hermit was so many things so it simply made sense for him to be so few things. Grian was what he wanted to be, a true person. A true being.
He'd heard it wasn't normal to want to be someone else, the usual sentiment was to be a trickster and trade places, but he wasn't normal. Or maybe they were lying, he could never tell.
Blank eyes looked out of the world, being a copy of Grian meant that he'd been a Watcher. Able to look upon the world in ways others couldn't. Able to see into his copy's eyes and see them return his stare.
Grian knew of Hels before others did, his copy had a tendency to stare through into him. See from his own eyes. It was more than just a little uncomfortable.
But unlike his Hels, he knew why the creature remained unfinished. The Watchers didn't want their special little boy to be copy and pasted.
No, a few of them were obsessive and aggressive. If another existed then the whole universe might as well end. Grian didn't blame them, he'd already made a copy of himself that wasn't good.
Which led him to wonder who NPG was, why had he been created if a Hels already existed? Sure there was EX and Waspsuma, one a creation and another a Hels copy, but Waspsuma was fully formed while he still has no name.
He could name himself, but nothing for. He wasn't a full being, he had no limbs. He had no code. He simply existed.
Grian had grown tired of the endless silent thoughts and how fuzzy half-developed eyes looked at him, sometimes he felt like gouging out his own might just work.

For people still in denial whether Israel has committed war crimes, here is a comprehensive list of war crimes Israel has committed both before and after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the list being taken from the Wikipedia article of war crimes with some notable missing examples being the usage of chemical weapons, famine, disease and apartheid. The 7th of October attack did not occur in a vacuum, but is the product of decades of Israel not being held accountable for its war crimes.

Y/N stifles a yawn as tears prick at the corners of her eyes. She shakes her head (as if trying to shake the yawn away), then smacks her lips together, sitting deeper in the couch as her eyes struggle to stay open.
Jungkook feels himself smile, momentarily forgetting about the movie they’re supposed to be watching together—V for Vendetta. It’s far outside of their preferred genres, so he finds it unsurprising that she’s lost interest.
Suddenly she turns her head to him and Jungkook nearly breaks his neck trying to look away in time, his cheeks flushing pink at the embarrassment at being caught.
Jungkook’s eyes widen as he raises his hands above Y/N’s shoulders, his heart racing as she shifts in her seat to lower her head into his lap, one hand tucked under his thigh and one resting on his foot.
His heart pounds hard against the back of his throat, eyes glued to the back of her head. If you told Jungkook a few months ago that Y/N would actively seek him out and be comfortable enough to be physically close to him, he would have laughed in your face. Seeing it happen before his eyes blows his mind.
A satisfied feeling in his stomach makes his chest inflate with a sense of accomplishment and pride he can’t put into words.
She nuzzles her cheek against his thigh, a little hum escaping her lips as she slowly relaxes her shoulders and softens her exhales.
With his hands still hovering just above her shoulders, Jungkook takes the leap to put his hand in her hair, gently running his fingers through the nice-smelling strands and occasionally letting his fingers brush against the back of her scalp.
Her heartbeat slows even further at the sensation, and fond smile tugging his lips upward in response. Jungkook sets his eyes back on the movie, idly dragging his hand through her hair.
“Jungkook-ah!”
“Hm?” He looks at Jimin with alert eyes, momentarily halting his motions to focus in on his hyung.
Jimin is quickly followed by Taehyung, who wraps an arm around Jimin’s shoulders with a goofy grin. The two shifters look down at Jungkook’s lap with curious eyes, Taehyung’s eyebrows comically high on his head. “That’s new,” he says.
“She’s sleeping,” Jungkook mutters, putting a finger up to his mouth as he continues stroking her hair.
He wonders… If Y/N were a cat right now, would she be purring?
He hopes the answer is yes.
“Did you need something?” Jungkook asks, trying to divert their attention as he grows ever-shy under their knowing smiles. He brings his free hand up to massage the tips of his ears, knowing for a fact they’ve turned a bright red.
Taehyung snickers as Jimin replies, “Not right now, but we were brainstorming about ideas for Rosie’s birthday next week and we need a third opinion.”
Jungkook nods. “What have you come up with so far?”
“I think we should take her to Lotte World,” Taehyung chimes before Jimin gets the chance. “She’s been talking about it for weeks.”
Jungkook nods thoughtfully. He remembers that one day a few weekends ago when Y/N came over to hang out and ended up chatting with Rosé for nearly an hour about Lotte World and how amazing it had been the one time she got to go with her parents.
“I think we should do something cozy,” Jimin says. “We can go out to the river and swim for a bit, then come back, change, and barbecue. It’s not super extravagant or anything, but I think she’ll like having everyone together to celebrate, you know?”
“Mmm,” Jungkook hums thoughtfully.
He thinks both options are good. They’re both things Rosé would enjoy and be thankful for, and they’re also things the rest of the pack can enjoy.
He wonders, though, “Why not do both?”
“Huh?” They say together.
“Do both.” Jungkook shrugs. “We can go to Lotte World first and then come back to barbecue. Some excitement and then something nice and cozy,” he says, briefly glancing back down to watch as strands of Y/N’s hair fall between the gaps in his fingers.
“Wow,” Jimin says, looking off into the distance. “Since when were you so smart?”
Jungkook pouts.
Taehyung muffles his laughter in Jimin’s shoulder, reaching around him to ruffle Jungkook’s hair. “Don’t take it so serious, Kookie. You know we’re just kidding. It’s a good idea!”
Jungkook smiles. “I guess… Tell the others, then?”
“Yep!” Taehyung says excitedly, pushing away from Jimin to stretch his arms out behind him. “Tomorrow, though. I’m beat.”
Jimin rolls his eyes, whispering conspiratorially, “He was up playing games all night.”
“Yah!” Taehyung says a little too loud—Y/N shifts closer to him in her sleep.
“Shh!” Jungkook hisses. Taehyung raises his hands in defeat, shaking his head on his way to his and Jimin’s bedroom.
Jungkook waits a few seconds to make sure she’s really asleep before continuing his ministrations in Y/N’s hair.
“You know.” Jungkook looks up at Jimin. “You two have gotten really close.”
Jungkook smiles. “Yeah… She’s opened up a lot.”
Jimin ruffles his hair affectionately. “I’m happy for you, Kook. Maybe, soon…?”
Jungkook shakes his head softly, looking down at the back of Y/N’s head. Her shoulders rise and fall in time with the steady rhythm of her heart. “Maybe.”
Jimin gives his shoulder an encouraging squeeze, whispering goodnight as he heads upstairs.
Jungkook rests his hand on Y/N’s shoulder with a slow sigh, leaning back against the couch as he focuses on the last couple of minutes of the movie nobody’s been watching.
“Soon,” he whispers.

U.S. Recount Updates/News:
Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate race will officially go to a recount. GOP candidate David McCormick is leading incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey by less than 0.5% in the vote total, triggering an automatic recount under state law.
Tumblr media
Furthermore,
Election and cybersecurity experts sent a formal letter to Vice President Kamala Harris urging a recount in key states, citing potential breaches in voting machines and the fact that voting systems were breached by Trump allies in 2021 and 2022.

Cited evidence within the footnotes include:

Additionally,
The Nevada Secretary of State issued a violation notice regarding election security. A police report has been filed after evidence emerged indicating that Nevada officials may have removed 26,902 ballots from their reported mail-in ballot totals.

Three images.
The first is a statement regarding a recount being triggered in the Pennsylvania Senate race. It reads:
“Unofficial Results in U.S. Senate Race Trigger Legally Required Automatic State Recount
Harrisburg, PA — Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt announced today that unofficial results in the Nov. 5 general election race for U.S.
Senate have triggered a legally required statewide recount.
Senator Bob Casey and Dave McCormick have vote totals within the one-half of 1 percent margin that triggers a mandatory recount under state law.
As of today, the unofficial returns for the U.S. Senate race submitted by all 67 counties show the following results for the top two candidates:
Robert P. Casey Jr. - 3,350,972 (48.50%)
David H. McCormick - 3,380,310 (48.93%)
Once counties finish counting their ballots, they must begin the recount no later than Wednesday, Nov. 20. They must complete the recount by noon on Nov. 26 and must report results to the Secretary by noon on Nov. 27. Results of the recount will not be published until Nov. 27.
The Department estimates that the recount cost will exceed $1 million of taxpayer funds.
This is the eighth time the automatic recount provision has been triggered since the passage of Act 97 of 2004. In the four cases in which the recount was carried out, the initial results of the election were affirmed. Those recounts and the costs for each were as follows:
2022 primary: Oz vs. McCormick, Republican race for U.S. Senate, $1,052,609.
2021 general: Dumas vs. Crompton, Commonwealth Court, $1,117,180.
2011 primary: Boockvar vs. Ernsberger, Democratic race for Commonwealth Court, $525,006.70.
2009 general: Lazarus vs. Colville vs. Smith, Superior Court race, $541,698.56.
For more information about the legally mandated automatic recount procedures, see the Department's directive on this topic (link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com).
Update on outstanding ballot totals
As of this afternoon, county election officials reported there are 60,366 uncounted provisional ballots and 20,155 uncounted mail-in and absentee ballots. That 80,521 total includes all ballots for which county boards of elections have not yet made a final resolution regarding their validity or eligibility to be counted.
As of the issuance of this release, the Department's election returns page [link.mediaoutreach.meltwater.com] reflects the unofficial totals that counties have reported. These numbers will change beginning Thursday morning, Nov. 14, as counties continue to canvass provisional ballots and otherwise count ballots. These changes are unrelated to the recount.”
The second image depicts the first page of a formal letter addressed to Vice President Kamala Harris from election security experts urging an election recount in key states. It reads:
“November 13, 2024
The Honorable Kamala Harris
The White House
Office of the Vice President
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N. W.
Washington, DC 20500
Dear Vice President Harris,
We write to alert you to serious election security breaches that have threatened the security and integrity of the 2024 elections, and to identify ways to ensure that the will of the voters is reflected and that voters should have confidence in the result. The most effective manner of doing so is through targeted recounts requested by the candidate. In the light of the breaches we ask that you formally request hand recounts in at least the states of Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. We have no evidence that the outcomes of the elections in those states were actually compromised as a result of the security breaches, and we are not suggesting that they were. But binding risk-limiting audits (RLAs) or hand recounts should be routine for all elections, especially when the stakes are high and the results are close. We believe that, under the current circumstances when massive software breaches are known and documented, recounts are necessary and appropriate to remove all potential doubt and to set an example for security best practices in all elections.
In 2022, records, video camera footage, and deposition testimony produced in a civil case in Georgia' disclosed that its voting system, used statewide, had been breached over multiple days by operatives hired by attorneys for Donald Trump. The evidence showed that the operatives made copies of the software”

___________
Hey 8′D So the backstory for this is pretty much over in this post (contains spoilers). This’ll be a short comic, only 38 pages, ‘cause it was actually supposed to be shorter but my brain ran off on too many details |D
One thing I will mention though is that I almost completely skip the fight scene in this, so if you’re looking forward to that, my bad. I don’t want to draw a fight scene in a comic just yet, I’m still a noob at comics.
Also there’ll be no set update schedule. I’m a busy woman and also too much of a perfectionist XDD I also have a bad habit of working on the pages that are more interesting to me at the moment, even if they aren’t the next ones in order. But I’ll try to upload multiple pages at a time. I started this on Nov 1, 2022, and only have 14/38 pages “finished”, I am very slow, so be patient X’DDD

Why are so many Californians homeless?
Tumblr media
12% of Americans live in California — but 30% of homeless Americans, and 50% of unsheltered Americans, call California “home.” This is the source of endless schadenfreude from “red state” partisans, and is often waved as proof of the failure of liberal policies. But the real story is both more complicated — and simpler.
UCSF’s Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative’s “California Statewide Study of People Experiencing Homelessness” is the largest, best study of homelessness in California in some 30 years:
https://homelessness.ucsf.edu/our-impact/our-studies/california-statewide-study-people-experiencing-homelessness
Between Oct 2021 and Nov 2022, researchers surveyed a representative sample of 3,198 people, and conducted in-depth interviews with 365 more. They concluded that, contrary to popular folk-stories about “homeless migration” by out-of-staters seeking an easy life on California’s streets, “people experiencing homelessness in California are Californian.” Nine tenths of respondents were already living in California when they lost their housing.
It’s also not true that homeless people move to LA or San Francisco from out of town: three quarters of participants live in the same county they were living in when they lost their homes.
So California’s unsheltered and homeless people are Californians. They’re our neighbors. They are disproportionately racialized — 26% are Black, 12% are First Nations, and 35% are Latino. They are older: their median age is 47. They’ve been homeless for a long, long time: the median duration of homelessness is 22 months, and 36% of respondents were “chronically homeless.”
They are survivors of violence: 72% of them have experienced violent assaults in their lives; 24% have experienced sexual violence (that number goes up to 43% for cis women, and 74% for trans and nonbinary people).
They’re sick. 60% have a chronic illness. More than a third have some health condition that limits their daily living. 22% have a mobility limitation.
They’re also pregnant. A quarter of the participants who were assigned female at birth had been pregnant during their current episode of homelessness.
66% are experiencing mental illness. 48% have serious depression, 51% have anxiety, 37% have trouble concentrating, and 12% experience hallucinations.
Only 9% have received any mental health counseling.
They take drugs — but at fairly low levels. 31% take meth regularly. 11% take opioids. 16% binge drink.
They are in trouble with the law and also at risk of being victims of criminal violence. A third have been to jail at least once during their current homeless episode. 38% have been assaulted while homeless (10% of homeless people surveyed experienced sexual violence).
So how did they end up homeless? It’s depressingly easy.
It starts with getting evicted. For leaseholders in the survey, the median amount of notice they had that they would lose their homes is ten days. For non-leaseholders, the median amount of notice was less than one day.
Homeless people are poor before they become homeless. Many people’s last home was a “non-leaseholder” arrangement — they were people who lost their rented homes and moved in with family or friends. For these people, the median wage in the six months before they lost their homes was $950/month. While 43% of non-leaseholders weren’t paying any rent, the remainder were paying a median rent of $450/month. Non-leaseholders have no legal rights, and often lived in “substandard and overcrowded conditions.”
For leaseholders, the median monthly income before losing their homes was $1400/month — but their median rent was $700/month.
When a leaseholder loses their home, the cause is usually economic — they can’t afford the rent. When a non-leaseholder loses their home, the cause is usually social — a conflict within the home or “not wanting to impose.”
People about to lose their homes turn to family and friends for help, but not for-profit or government agencies devoted to helping people in their situation. 70% of survey respondents believed they could have avoided homeless with a one-time cash payment of $5,000-$10,000. 90% say a Housing Choice Voucher would have kept them from becoming homeless.
20% of people who become homeless say it was because they lost some or all of their income — often because their car broke down or got towed and they could no longer get to work. Once homeless, most survey respondents seek work — but are unable to find it, due to age, lack of transportation, disability and lack of housing.
What can we do about this? 90% of respondents say the biggest barrier to finding a home is housing costs. Half say their bad credit makes it even harder to find a rental, while a third say their criminal records also get in the way. Half also say that all the affordable housing is unsafe, or too far from their communities or care providers.
The authors have a suite of policy recommendations. For starters, we can increase homelessness prevention by giving financial support and legal aid to people facing eviction. These can be offered at “service settings” like domestic violence services, and at “institutional exits” from jail and prison. We can also make it harder to evict people.
We can expand “low barrier” access to mental heath and addiction care. We can offer training and transportation support to people in precarious economic situations, as well as help in navigating the process to get benefits.
We can offer more services to people in unsheltered settings, and embrace a racial equity approach that recognizes the racialized nature of homelessness.
And finally: we can increase the availability of housing vouchers, and the stock of affordable housing.
This last one is long overdue. America treats housing as an asset rather than a human right, creating a world of haves and have-nots. The haves are dedicated to increasing the value of their assets by restricting the supply, and by reducing the protections offered to tenants (the more a landlord can extract from tenants, the more all houses are worth, because every time one goes up for sale the bidding includes landlords who are factoring in their ability to milk flush tenants and evict broke ones):

In California, the meager supply of low-income housing has been gobbled up by Airbnb, and also by unscrupulous landlords who illegally convert their low-income housing into boutique hotels, with no fear of punishment from toothless, gutless enforcers:

Something everyone seems to have overlooked. Jade and Sophie follow each other on Instagram. They’ve even liked each other’s pictures over the course of the last few years.
It seems Luke and Sophie got together in July 2016 and ended in Nov 2018. I said July 2016 because Luke tweeted about his 2 year anniversary on July 26, 2018.
Luke and Jade met in Feb 2019, with them going on their first date in March 2019 and becoming official the same month. They moved in together early Dec 2019 and lived together through at least Dec 2022 when they split up. They may have briefly reconciled in Jan 2023. By mid-late Feb 2023, Luke was on Raya. Early March 2023, Jade became official with her current boyfriend (we know that now with Jade’s anniversary post this year).
Mid-March 2023 is when the articles came about Luke being single and on Raya. He has his HBS through July/Aug. He was supposedly official with Antonia by Sept. Y’all know the rest.

This shirt (photos below) has now been worn ✨seven✨ times in Thai bls...but who wore it best? Propaganda for your favourite is always welcome. Thanks to @troubled-mind for the suggestion!
Edit: @telomeke is absolutely correct that it's Boss as Payu in LITA (and not Fort as I have erroneously written 🤦🏽‍♀️). So ignore my mistake.
