@zoragrace liked for an au starter
"Broken swords and dragon's bones
Scattered on the way back home Beating to the sound of clashing steel When they're on our heels Now chant the tales and legends told Strengthened by the hymns of old Weathered as this winding road is long So we sing our traveler's song"
The bard finished, the dulcet sounds of her lute fading into the soft, dripping sounds of Zora's domain. Her yellow eyes slowly opened, turning upward to see a few ruppees tossed into the soft bag at her feet. She smiled, brushing a few short, stray hairs from her lips. It was a fairly good turnout, given the rain (did the Zora really mind it, though? They slept in water, she couldn't imagine rain being so different from air). She probably wouldn't need to stay in town for more than a few days before she had enough to hit the road again.
Stanna wasn't much for cities, but she did enjoy stopping by Zora's domain when she was in Lanayru. It was quieter than most Hylian towns, probably because there was no need for horses, and the architecture was second to none, if she were asked. She didn't make as much as she did in smaller towns - she imagined they had more traveling bards than most, thus diminishing the need to ensure they returned next year. She liked it all the same.
As she finished, bending over to pick up the slightly damp coin purse, her yellow eyes turned to a similar set - though, as she'd learned, when Hylians said some Zora had yellow eyes, they really meant amber. The Zora wasn't quite a child, but she certainly wasn't an adult yet. The young woman gave a small, closed-lipped smile. Her lips had a considerable scar across them that made people nervous if she smiled too fully, especially those from outside the nation.
"Did you enjoy the show, notrai?"

*accidentally constructs half a pantheon for the ancient coruscanti*
original names in italics:
koru, umate, voru: the sun, the moon, the stars
nātarai & manarai & matar(a)i: 'earth', fire, sky
via & onrai: fertility & death
zoru: tutelary deity
notes on names: umate (āmbatai —> umatai —> umate). the construction of the word just makes me think of moon and months. secrets and politics naturally go together.
voru (kwhāryu —> bāryu —> vāryu —> vāru —> voru) is one of lina soh's targons so i wanted varu and matari to have something in common, so the pair becomes the stars and the sky. and since this is a space-faring galaxy, voru also gets industry and craft. and the cosmic force.
manarai (mbanarai —> manarai) & matari (mbatarai —> matarai —> matari) are older deities, probably the oldest of them all. manarai is fire and victory and more about the individual; matari is about healing the entirety of society, and oracles, i think. no one can agree on what gender they were, if any (manarai would totally be the sith god if the sith worshipped an indigenous coruscanti deity). they are twins and/or lovers.
via, (khwiya —> biya —> viya —> via) & onrai (ānbarai —> ānarai —> ānrai —> onrai): had a bit of fun here with the good parent/evil parent trope that abeloth plays into, so they get to technically be the same deity, which is of transformation and fertility, but also they're parent and child (most scholarship will show they're mother/daughter but there is a subset of mother/son, father/daughter versions, and sometimes a hermaphroditic pairing), and life and death. which one is which? it depended on which hemisphere you lived in.
original ones: koru (khāryu —> khārru —> khāru —> koru) is taken both from the name of [k]oruscant and 'duel of the fates', since the opening line is 'korah matah' and i thought it would be funny. she's the sun, destiny, and sorcery. if you want to push it specifically, she's the living force, as well.
nātarai (—> nātrai —> notrai) becomes the root for notron, the original name for coruscant. it's the planet, it's a local deity. like the sun goddess of arinna. but a planet. tutelary deity. constantly changing form.
zoru (dzālyu —> zhālyu —> zhāllu —> zalu/zaru —> zoru) is also the root of the word that becomes zhell, the 'origin species' of humans on coruscant. he is the 'patron saint' of the city of great zhell, but evolved into more of a general war god as the taung vs zhell conflict continued.
other the indigenous coruscanti loved them some trios. yes, via & onrai are missing a third. no, it's not zoru. historians only know that the name does end with the -ālyu suffix, though a very small subset of scholars believes it should be ambālyu (—> amālu/abālu). at a conference, someone once suggested it should be katamarai and got shouted down. other contenders are mbālyu —> moru/boru/baru.

The fact that some of the Notrays in Star Twinkle are fat amuses me every time. Like yes, finally, fat representation in anime
(Joking obviously - for an anime that is a true great example of fat representation, look to Witch from Mercury)

Kappard sends out a bunch of mooks (Notrays, apparently) from the other saucers in hopes of capitalizing on Hikaru’s disorientation, but she pretty quickly figures out what she’s doing and sends them bowling. Literally. Kappard himself gives a bit of a harder fight, but the use of a special attack sends him blasting off like Team Rocket, appropriately enough. The Team aboard the Rocket, meanwhile, is rather impressed, though there’s a significant closeup of Lala’s eyes that I’m not sure what to make of.

Just watched episode 21 of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure, and ooh, new ending theme! Guess we’ll be getting an updated opening theme soon too, then. Anyways, onto my thoughts on the episode:
Picking up where the last episode left off, Blue Cat becomes Cure Cosmo and fights back against Ayewan’s Notrigger. Kappard is surprised when Cure Cosmo seemingly manages to win, but things quickly escalate as Lord Darknest sends his power to Ayewan’s Notrigger, and begins supressing more of her thoughts to make it even stronger, much to Hikaru and the others’ horror. Even Cure Cosmo seems worried, recalling how she as Bakenyan listened to Ayewan explain how she would use her latest Dark Pen. Hikaru decides to try and save Ayewan, and she and the other three transform to join Cure Cosmo.
Kappard and the Notrays join the fight, also powered up by Darknest. Cure Milky, Soleil and Selene deal with the powered up Notrays, but even with their combined powers, they just keep coming at them. Cure Star fights against Kappard, who taunts her with the darkened Aries Pen she failed to retrieve, and that her loss of composure will lead to her defeat. However, despite angered and worried for Ayewan’s well-being, Cure Star manages to fight back against Kappard and finally get her hands on the Aries Pen. She then hurries over to assist Cure Cosmo with Ayewan.
Cure Star uses her new Aries Star Punch against Notrigger!Ayewan, but Darknest begins supressing her thoughts even more to power up the Notrigger even further. Cure Star is horrified to see Darknest treat Ayewan this way, as Ayewan screams in agony. Kappard marvels at Darknest’s power through ceasing all thoughts. Cure Star questions him, reminding him of what he told her back when he, Tenjou and Ayewan fought them as a Notrigger, and states that she’s beginning to realize what he meant back then. Ayewan tries to strike down Cure Star, but Cure Cosmo blocks the attack. Cure Cosmo states that even though she can’t forgive Ayewan, she believes Darknest is even crueler for how he’s making her suffer by brainwashing her.
Cure Cosmo’s perfume bottle transforms, and the Aries Pen resonates with it. Cure Star lends Cure Cosmo the pen, and Cure Cosmo uses her new attack, the Pretty Cure Rainbow Splash, to free Ayewan from the Notrigger. Darknest leaves. As Ayewan regains consciousness, she recognizes Cure Cosmo as Bakenyan, and declares she won’t forgive her for tricking her, and steals Blue Cat’s spaceship. Kappard also retreats.
Hikaru says it is time to revive the Aries Princess, and Blue Cat returns the Aries Pen to her so they can do so. At the Star Princess Palace, the Aries Princess says she’s happy the Cures found a new ally, and Blue Cat asks her if she’ll really be able to save her planet if she finds all the pens. The Taurus Princess approaches them and tells Blue Cat that in time, she will be able to save her planet.
Returning to Planet Rainbow, Blue Cat goes to see the petrified Olifio, and she explains to the other Cures how Olifio is both the mother and father of her and the other cat people. Hikaru asks Blue Cat to come back to Earth with them, but Blue Cat initially wants to keep going on her own, since she now has her own pendant to track down pens. However, she eventually relents once the others remind her that Ayewan stole her spaceship, and agrees to come to Earth with them.
Meanwhile, on the Notraiders’ base, the Notraiders (except Ayewan) watch in awe as Darknest breaks free of his seal and appears before them all. Kappard notes that Darknest can still grow even more powerful, and Darknest orders them to go find the Star Princesses’ power.
On the spaceship, Hikaru asks if she can try Blue Cat’s perfume, but Blue Cat refuses, in the process letting it slip that the reason she uses it is because she’s still inexperienced with her own shapeshifting power. Prunce realizes that this is the reason she was unable to hide her ears and tail in her other forms. Prunce offers her a donut, and Blue Cat tells the other Cures that they can call her by her real name, Yuni, from now on. The others agree.
As they return to Earth, a rainbow has appeared in the sky as the rain has finally stopped and the sun comes out.
Wow, that was another really great episode! We finally know Blue Cat’s real name, Cure Star finally retrieved the Aries Pen, and we finally see what Darknest actually looks like. Really cool design, with the snake-like elements. And wow, that fight scene actually got pretty intense with what was happening to Ayewan during it. I really liked Cure Cosmo’s finishing move. Really nice visuals on that one! So, I guess Cure Cosmo’s can use any of the pens, then? And I like the new ending theme too!
Anyways, I’m curious as to how the story will progress on the villains’ side of things. Will the Cures eventually find a way to redeem them? Also, I found it interesting that Ayewan seemed to be absent for Darknest’s revival. I wonder where she went?
Well, I’ll be looking forward to the next episode, where it seems we’ll finally meet Hikaru’s father!

Finally got around to watching episode 10 of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.
The episode begins with Hikaru helping Mr. Ryo sorting books, leading her to find the first book she read about constellations and asking him about his favorite constellation. After thinking on it a bit, he tells her its probably the Southern Cross, and gives some brief history on it. Inspired, Hikaru wants to go into space to see it, since it can’t be seen from the part of the world they live in.
Madoka has some concerns, since her father and his team saw their rocket the last time they went into space and are currently investigating, but Hikaru manages to convince the group to head into space, and maybe find another pen while they’re at it. However, unbeknownst to them, Madoka’s father and his team see them taking off. As they head into space, Hikaru has difficulty finding the constellation among all the stars, but everyone’s attention is quickly drawn elsewhere when Hikaru’s pendant begins glowing. Fuwa creates a portal into Star Space and they head out to look for another pen.
As they head for the planet the pen is on, Prunce mentions that he knows about the alien species that live there. As they land, Hikaru is excited about meeting another race of aliens, imagining them as bear-like due to their name, but quickly finds that they’re quite different from that upon meeting one (having more in common with water bears), who introduces himself as Coumu. He offers to guide them, but the girls have trouble keeping up due to the gravity of the planet being stronger than that of Earth.
In the meantime, the Notraiders are being lectured by Garuoghra, when their master suddenly shoots a beam of energy at Ayewan, Kappard and Tenjou, granting them a temporary power-boost. Garuoghra tells them to take advantage of this and head out together to obtain the Princesses’ power.
On the other planet, the Cures continue their search, despite their trouble keeping up both due to the gravity, and the occasional harsh weather, with Prunce talking about how the local flora had to adapt to survive the planet’s harsh climate. As the girls search a field of gems, the villains show up.
The Cures transform, and Tenjou summons a bunch of Notrays. Cure Milky quickly notices that their opponents are stronger than normal. While Tenjou and Kappard fight the Cures, Ayewan and Bakenyan search for the pen, eventually finding it and turning it into a Dark Pen, much to Cure Star’s shock.
Ayewan wants to turn Coumu into a Notrigger, but Bakenyan talks her out of it, pointing out that Tenjou and Kappard already have the upper hand on the Cures.
Cure Star attempts to use her powered up attack to get past the villains so she can try to grab the Dark Pen, but Kappard stops her, managing to get the Taurus Pen from her grasp. The villains manage to defeat the Cures, causing them to de-transform. As the villains move in to try to take the other three collected Star Color Pens, Fuwa interrupts them, yelling at them. While they are distacted by this, Lala takes the oppurtunity to call on the rocket’s A.I., and Prunce quickly gathers up the girls and Fuwa, and brings them to the rocket. They quickly retreat.
Kappard wants to go after them right away, but Tenjou advices him not to, since their power boost is running out. Ayewan meanwhile expresses her wish to try out her new Dark Pen on someone. Coumu, watching from a distance, wonders if the girls are okay.
On the ship, the girls, especially Hikaru, are shaken up by their defeat. As they return to Earth, the rocket is spotted by Madoka’s father and his team, who begin heading over to investigate...
Ooh, this was quite the episode, with the Cures’ first defeat to the Notraiders. Not only did they fail to obtain a new Star Color Pen, but the Taurus pen got taken away from them too. And with Madoka’s father investigating, one can only hope that things won’t go from bad to worse for our heroines too quickly. I feel kind of bad for Hikaru, as she realizes that this all happened because she got too caught up in her own excitement.
There was also a bit of an interesting moment there, when Kappard bad-mouths the planet they are on, insulting both Coumu and angering Cure Star, causing the latter to step in and defend the planet, only for Kappard to tell her off since Earth is such a comfy planet to live on and she has no idea what she’s talking about. Perhaps there’s more to the Notraiders than meets the eye?
Anyways, I’ll be looking forward to the next episode!

Just watched episode 5 of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.
The episode opens with our soon-to-be purple Cure, Madoka Kaguya, practicing her archery. Her father comes in and compliments her skill, saying she’ll surely win once again this year. The next morning at breakfast, her father is getting ready to leave for his work, as there have been alien sightings nearby that the team he leads has to investigate. He mentions that the Kaguya family does not keep secrets, causing Madoka to remember briefly spotting Fuwa the other day at school. Her father asks if something is wrong, and she’s about to say something, but a phone call for her father interrupts before she can speak up.
On the way to school, Hikaru and Lala (with Prunce disguised as Lala’s backpack) explain the whole Pretty Cure situation to Elena, before she gets surrounded by her fans yet again. They notice another crowd surrounding Madoka, with that blonde girl with the fancy curls from Hikaru’s class, Sakurako Himenojo, giving some exposition (which Lala lampshades afterwards) regarding Madoka, who Sakurako strives to surpass. Sakurako almost recognizes Lala from the other day, but Hikaru insists that this is Lala’s first visit to the school. Madoka notices them, and tries to focus on her tasks at school throughout the day while still troubled.
At lunch time, Hikaru shows Elena how the Twinkle Book can also be used to make food for Fuwa. Madoka approaches, and Hikaru and Elena try to keep Fuwa hidden away from her. They almost manage to evade her, only for Fuwa to blow her cover by showing up to tell Madoka good-bye.
Later, Madoka misses a shot with an arrow while thinking back to earlier, as Hikaru and Elena asked her to keep Fuwa, Lala and Prunce a secret, since they wouldn’t be able to stay on Earth otherwise. Madoka’s father approaches and asks what is troubling her. He reminds her that he let her go to a public school to learn how the common folk live and become a better leader, as expected of the Kaguya family. He tells her not to let trivialities at school get to her.
The next day, Madoka follows Hikaru and Elena when they go to the rocket where Lala is to give her some food. Hikaru once again pleads with Madoka to keep their secret and Prunce tries to explain the situation, but Madoka says that it doesn’t matter since she won’t go against her father. However, her resolve falters as Fuwa offers her one of the rice balls Hikaru made, and Hikaru asks how Madoka truly feels.
Suddenly, Tenjou and the Notrays show up to search for a pen, and Elena explains to Madoka that the Notraiders are the bad aliens who are out to capture Fuwa. Hikaru goes to fight them, and Lala and Elena soon join her while telling Madoka to watch Fuwa for them in the meantime. The three transform and begin fighting off the Notraiders while Madoka watches. Madoka ends up accidentally alerting Tenjou to her presence when she steps on a branch, and she has the Notrays go after her. Prunce tries to stop them and tells Madoka to run.
As Madoka tries to flee, she decides that she’ll try to protect Fuwa, and her resolve causes Fuwa to create a pen and pendant for her. Tenjou tries to prevent Madoka from transforming by telling the Notrays to snatch the pen, while the other Cures continue fighting and tell Madoka to become a Cure. Madoka hesitates due to remembering her father’s words, but she eventually reaches her decision and takes hold of the pen, becoming Cure Selene.
Tenjou has the Notrays surround Cure Selene, but she easily manages to dodge their attacks. She reflects on her father telling her to learn to better understand others, and that it is for this reason that she has decided to become a Cure and fight alongside the others to protect Fuwa. She ends up knocking out a large number of Notrays with her Selene Arrow attack, and Tenjou mutters that she’ll need more henchmen for next time as she flees.
After the battle, Madoka’s father and his team show up, having heard of the incident in the area, and asks Madoka if she happened to hear anything. Madoka says she did not, and her father tells her to return home as soon as possible. Madoka tells the others that she feels bad about keeping secrets from her father, and that she’ll work hard as a Pretty Cure alongside the others so they can resolve the situation as soon as possible.
The episode ends with Elena telling Hikaru that she doesn’t need to be so formal with her, and to just call her by first name, with Madoka agreeing to a first name basis.
This was another really good episode, and this one in particular has me really intrigued as to where things will go from here! I feel the introduction of Madoka’s father, his team and the fact that they are investigating the presence of the aliens will add another potential conflict to the formula, especially in Madoka’s case, as she now has to keep these secrets from him.
I’m looking forward to the next episode!

Just watched episode 8 of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.
Travelling through the Starscape, the girls comment on how different it is from the space they know of. Following the signal from Elena’s Star Color Pendant, the girls eventually come across a planet shaped like a bone, and head there in hopes of finding the Libra Star Color Pen. The ship’s A.I. notes that the girls’ pendants will allow them to survive on other planets without the need of a spacesuit.
After landing, the girls wonder what kind of creatures live on this planet covered in bones, and notice a building in the distance. The girls are suddenly approached by three dog-like aliens, Doggy, Maggy and Neggy. The girls are surprised that they can understand their language, with Lala noting this must be another effect of their pendants. Hikaru is excited to meet the aliens and tries to befriend them, but the dogs aren’t all that impressed by the Earthlings due to their lack of fur. They do take a liking to Fuwa, though, while finding Prunce especially weird due to his total lack of fur, which he takes offense at.
It suddenly starts raining bones, so they all run to the building to seek shelter. Doggy offers them a hair tonic that will quickly give them fluffy fur, and while Hikaru is willing to try it out, Elena decides to hold on to it for the time being.
They head into the temple, where they find that the Star Color Pen they were looking for is on top of a statue of the dog aliens’ ancestor. They explain that the statue originally had a tail on the head, but it got broken. Then during a recent festival, the Star Color Pen fell from the sky and landed exactly where that tail used to be. Believing it to be a blessing from the skies, they came to see the pen as their sacred bone.
The girls realize it is the pen they were looking for, but the dog aliens refuse to give it to them. Prunce suggests they just take it anyways, but Elena refuses to do so since the pen is clearly important to the aliens. During this argument, Kappard, who had arrived on the planet earlier, tries to take the pen himself. Noticing the Cures, he summons the Notrays, and the girls transform to deal with him.
During the fight, Cure Soleil tries to stop Kappard from taking the pen, but Kappard points out that the Cures are after it too. Doggy says he won’t let either of them have the pen, while Prunce tries to convince him otherwise. Cure Soleil tells Prunce that they should try explaining the situation better, and maybe they’ll listen, which the other Cures agree to. As Cure Soleil continues to fight Kappard, the hair tonic getting knocked aside in the process, Prunce decides to swallow his pride and beg the dog aliens to at least let Cure Soleil borrow the pen for a moment so she can defeat Kappard.
The dog aliens ultimately decide to lend it to her, with Prunce using the hair tonic to give himself a fluffy coat that allows him to repel one of Kappard’s attacks and buying enough time for the dog aliens to get the pen to Cure Soleil. With her new powered-up attack, Cure Soleil sends Kappard and his minions flying.
After properly explaining the situation to the elder of the dog-like aliens, he agrees to let the Cures have the pen, since they had just managed to finish repairing the old tail anyways. With that, the Cures are finally able to give the pen’s power to Fuwa and revive the Libra princess.
With their mission complete, the girls leave their new friends to head back for now, with the hair tonic on Prunce wearing off. Elena reveals that Doggy gave her another of the hair tonic’s as a parting gift if Prunce wanted to stay fluffy a bit longer, which he protests.
Another good episode, with the girls having to face a bit of a dilemma there with the pen being seen as important to the local aliens, but in the end, it all worked out. Elena once again shows her skill at communicating with others, and respecting the aliens’ opinion and not taking the pen unless they were okay with it. I wonder what other quirky planets the girls will explore over the course of their adventures, and if they’ll end up revisiting any of these.
Anyways, I’ll be looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Just watched the third episode of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.
Picking up after the last episode, the girls and aliens try to figure out why Hikaru’s pendant starting glowing and making sounds earlier. They try to have the A.I. analyze it, and it concludes that it must be related to the Pretty Cures’ mission. Prunce concludes that it must be related to the princesses, since finding them is the Cures’ mission. Hikaru decides to go investigate more.
Lala wants to wait for the analysis to finish, but since they have no way of knowing when it’ll be complete, Hikaru suggests it’d be faster to do some searching while they wait for the analysis. Their different viewpoints on the situation gradually cause Hikaru and Lala to grow more and more frustrated with one another. Hikaru ends up bringing the aliens to the shopping district to investigate, with Prunce disguising himself as a balloon to not draw attention. Lala realizes that thanks to her pendant, she can now communicate with other humans, not just Hikaru.
Hikaru hears a rumor of a mysterious dragonfly that was spotted, and tries to share the news with Lala, who is annoyed with Hikaru not seeming to take things seriously. As their argument heats up further, the two are interrupted by Elena Amamiya, a girl from Hikaru’s school who is in a different grade. Elena gives them a flower, and tells them that from her experience with dealing with the arguments between her younger siblings, the best way to sort things out is to listen to each other, before going back to help out at the flower shop.
Meanwhile, another group of Notrayders appear, led by a female alien named Tenjou, who tells Kappard he’s been ordered to return while she takes over the operation. Kappard tells her he won’t let her be the one to take Fuwa, but Tenjou says she’s more interested in going after the princesses.
Hikaru and Lala go to investigate the rumor Hikaru heard, still arguing. Just as Hikaru is about to blow up at Lala, Fuwa can’t take the fighting anymore and bursts into tears. The two girls decide to calm down and take Elena’s advice to stop and listen to each other. Hikaru explains that her pendant started glowing earlier, as she had tried to tell Lala, with Lala realizing she didn’t listen. Hikaru goes on to explain that there are always all kind of rumors to hear from the donut shop in the shopping district, and so she hoped to find a clue there, and believed the dragonfly might be related to it. Lala in turn shares more data from the analysis, and how she thinks the princesses power might be found in the form of another pen.
Combining the information from both girls, Prunce concludes that the “dragonfly” must in fact be one of these pens, and the girls figure out how to use Hikaru’s pendant to locate it. However, before they can grab it, one of the Notrays show up and takes it to Tenjou. Hikaru and Lala confront her, transforming into Pretty Cure. Tenjou has the Notrays form a formation to make it difficult to reach her. Cure Star tries to jump over them, but gets zapped out of the sky by the Notrays’ laser guns.
Since just jumping in didn’t work out, Cure Star asks Cure Milky to come up with a plan by analysing the situation. Together, the two use their combined powers to reach Tenjou and take the pen. Once Cure Star gets her hands on it, the pen reveals its true form, and guided by the voice of the Princess of the Tauros, Cure Star is able to power up her Star Punch, forcing Tenjou to retreat.
The princess’ voice tells the girls to give the pen’s power to Fuwa, which the do via the Twinkle Book. Fuwa teleports the girls to the Star Palace, returning the Princess of the Tauros to her place in the palace. The princess thanks them for saving her, but tells them they still need to find the other eleven and bring them back as well, or else the stars will go out. After the two girls reaffirm that they’ll do what they can to fullfill their mission, they are sent back to Earth.
Hikaru apologizes to Lala for being so harsh on her earlier, and Lala apologizes as well, finally agreeing to just let Hikaru keep calling her by name without honoriffics. While they eat donuts together, Prunce comments on how powerful the Cures are together and thinks they could become even more powerful if they had even more Cures. The episode ends on the camera focusing on the flower given to them by Elena.
A pretty good episode, where Hikaru and Lala’s differences led to them getting into a bit of a conflict, but once they finally are able to commuicate properly, they manage to get the information they need to carry out their mission. I suppose it was bound to happen, and I liked how they did it. Their teamwork when retrieving the pen was really cool too.
I really like how the transformation sequences in this has the Cures basically drawing the different parts of their outfits. I’m really looking forward to seeing Cure Soleil’s transformation sequence in the next episode!
So, yeah! I’ll be looking forward to the next one!

Finally watched episode 4 of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.
The episode begins with a glimpse into Elena’s daily life, as she prepares breakfast for her siblings.
Lala is still working on trying to fix the rocket, when Hikaru shows up to drop off some food for her before heading off to school. Curious about school, Lala decides to go with her. Lala is fascinated with the school, since they don’t have them on her home planet due to everyone just being able to get their information by consulting the AIs.
They notice Elena, and Hikaru explains why Elena has such a good reputation as the sun of the school. They try to approach her to thank her for stopping their fight earlier, but are unable to get close due to a group of other admiring students.
Lala observes Hikaru at school, nearly catching the attention of one of her classmates in the process. She then notices Elena showing off her athletic skills in the gym, with the members of several sports clubs asking her to join them.
Lala later goes to talk to Hikaru about what she saw, and Hikaru explains that Elena has received many such offers, but has turned them all down. As they are about to eat lunch, the Taurus pen glows and Fuwa asks Hikaru to draw a snack for her with the Twinkle Book. Prunce muses about how the Taurus princess asked them to help Fuwa grows and wonders if this is what she meant.
Meanwhile, somewhere on another planet, Kappard is reporting to Garuohga about the Star Pens, and is asked to gather them as they’ll make a great source of energy for their great leader or something who seems to be sealed in a crystal. Kappard is given an improved radar by a one-eyed alien girl and a cat-like alien butler, and he states that he’ll get the pens before Tenjou does, to which Tenjou via communicator replies that he won’t be needed.
Hikaru and Lala spot another crowd of students and think Elena might be there, but another student points out that this time it’s not the sun, but the moon of the school, their student coucil president Madoka Kaguya. Madoka tells them Elena already headed home, and the two go off to find her, but not before Fuwa briefly pops out of the bag, catching Madoka’s attention. Coupled with her not knowing who Lala is as she is not a student of the school, she wonders what is going on.
Hikaru and Lala head to the flower shop where Elena’s younger siblings spot Fuwa and mistake her for a plushie, which Hikaru and Lala go along with to not give themselves away. They finally get the chance to talk to Elena, who explains that she usually heads home early both because of the shop and to help watch her younger siblings. Prunce keeps an eye on the siblings while they play with Fuwa, but to his relief, they don’t catch on.
After talking with Elena, Hikaru and Lala head off only to come across Tenjou and the Notrays. They transform and try to fight them, but all the dust and smoke kicked off from the fight causes them to lose track of each other in the chaos. In the distance, Elena’s siblings spot the fight in the distance, with one of them pointing out thats the direction Hikaru and Lala went in. Concerned for the two, Elena goes to investigate while telling her siblings to finish working on the laundry in the meantime.
Elena comes across the battle, and wonders just what is going on. As she notices Fuwa in distress, she moves to help, but since she is understandably frightened at everything happening in front of her, she can’t bring herself to move any further. However, as the battle goes on, and the aliens move to grab Fuwa, Elena manages to muster up the strength to leap forward to pull Fuwa away from the Notrays’ grasp.
Tenjou tells Elena she has no idea what she’s just gotten herself into, while telling Cure Star and Cure Milky that now that there’s another target they need to protect, they’ll be even weaker. Elena states that while she only has the gist of what’s going on, she’ll do her best to protect Fuwa too, since her siblings had a fun time thanks to her. As she comforts Fuwa, Fuwa gives Elena her own pendant and pen, allowing her to become the Pretty Cure of the Sun, Cure Soleil.
With her new power, Cure Soleil is able to turn the battle around. She comments that Tenjou earlier said that having more things to protect makes you weaker, but tells her that that’s not the case. Having more things to protect makes you stronger, and she gets her strength from the smiles of everyone around her. As she forces the Notrayders to retreat, Tenjou comments that she’ll have to come up with a new strategy now that there’s a third Pretty Cure to account for.
After the battle, Elena asks just what a Pretty Cure is. Prunce is about to explain, but as Elena still has to look after her siblings, she tells them that they’ll have to save explainations for next time, and begins running back home.
Another really good episode! I really like Elena already, and her transformation sequence was really good. I look forward to seeing more of her. We also got a look at some more aliens, and I really liked the designs of that one-eyed girl and the cat butler guy.
I’m guessing Lala will eventually end up going to school with Hikaru and the others. In the meantime, I guess Madoka has some questions about what is going on. I’ll be looking forward to the next episode, and the debut of Cure Selene!

Just watched episode 7 of Star Twinkle Pretty Cure.
The girls are in high spirits due to now having both the Tauros and Leo Star Color Pens, meaning they have two out of the twelve they need. They prepare to begin repairing the rocket together so they can head into space to search for the rest. The rocket’s A.I. analyzes the girls to find out their individual strengths so it can assign them tasks based on those to increase efficiancy. However, after assigning tasks to Lala, Elena and Madoka, the A.I. admits to being unsure what exactly Hikaru is best suited for, and puts her on cleaning duty. Hikaru is a bit disappointed, but tries to make the best of it.
The girls initially start out motivated, but as the hours pass, they begin to get tired. As Hikaru finishes up cleaning duty, she sits down to draw something in the Twinkle Book. The A.I. finally gives everyone a short break, and the girls notice Hikaru drawing something. Prunce initially calls Hikaru out on using the Twinkle Book like this, while Hikaru points out it was initially her notebook in the first place. The other girls are curious to see what Hikaru was working on, and eventually convince Hikaru to show them. It turns out she was drawing a new design for the rocket, and the girls end up finding it cute, with Elena and Madoka even suggesting their own additions to the design.
The A.I. points out that making these changes to the rocket would only add more work time, and that these changes are basically unnecessary. Lala ultimately decides to go for it, saying this isn’t just her rocket anymore, but theirs, and so they begin to work on the new design. The A.I. analyzes them as they work, with Prunce working on something as well, and the girls deciding to personalize the interior of the rocket too by making their own rooms in there.
The A.I. updates its data as the girls work, surprised by the fact that their work efficiancy has improved despite the extra work, and concludes that it is because of the uplifting effect Hikaru has on people.
Once the rocket is nearly complete, the Notraiders led by Tenjou show up to attack them. She decides to destroy their rocket, along with stealing the two Star Color Pens they have gathered. The girls transform, and fight to drive off the Notrays. Working together, they manage to protect the rocket and force Tenjou and her minions to flee, with Tenjou noting their teamwork has gotten better and that she’ll need a new plan.
With the rocket finally complete, the girls prepare to head into space the next morning. Elena and Madoka express concerns as to whether they’ll be able to return by Monday, since they and Hikaru do have school to attend. Hikaru says it’ll probably be fine as long as they make sure they’re back by then.
The next morning, the girls finally head into space. Elena’s pendant reacts to something, which Prunce suspects is the Libra Star Color Pen. In response to this, Fuwa opens a portal leading them into the Star Space...
Another nice episode, simple and sweet, with Hikaru managing to increase everyone’s morale simply by making their task more fun and inspiring them to think of their own ideas for how to personalize the rocket. Sometimes, all you need is a little spark of inspiration to move you forward.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing what happens next!
