There's a huge amount of pressure to make perfect art.

You're supposed to know and have such a good handle on all of the fundamentals because, if you don't, the algos won't show your work to anyone.

We have to simultaneously be (usually) multimedia experts and infinitely relatable.

There isn't room in the Algo to experiment and try new things... Because it actively sabotages you if you do. Use a different media? Stop working in the same style? Bye bye, followers. Goodbye, reach.

It's heartbreaking! Experimentation is the crux that's kept me doing art consistently for almost a year now.

I used to go *months* without drawing. And now I feel weird if I haven't drawn that day; it's such a comfort to me. To give myself time to decompress.

And to think that the space I use for playing and messing up and thumbnailing and trying new things and GROWING is a thing that could actively sabotage a career as an artist is ...

Honestly fuck it.

FUCK the algorithms. FUCK the nonsense that means I have to """""niche down"""" and never change.

No. We're human. We change. We grow. We evolve. We EXPERIMENT.

Anyways long winded way of saying just share it. You don't need a perfect sketchbook.

So many folks have told me that my pages where I actively add silly notes or go (OH NO) when I realized I made a mistake? They love it.

Do it. Remind each other that imperfections are necessary. It brings community. It relieves others (and yourself) of that pressure. Even if just for a bit. Even if just for a little.

i don't like to yuck people's yum but i have to say that my least favorite thing to come from the current state of Artists on the Internet is the idea of a sketchbook as something nice and pretty and shareable. like i love me a notebook full of gorgeous art don't get me wrong but that is NOT what a sketchbook is. a sketchbook is my friend who i carry around everywhere like a purse chihuahua. it is the physical manifestation of my notes app. it is the container into which i wring my brain out. it is my therapist. and most of all it is filled with absolutely terrible sketches that should never see the light of day.

Virgin Voyages : Adriatic Sea and Greek Gems Part 2

If you haven't read "My Curse" I would scroll down a few entries and have a read but basically just about every trip I have been on something goes wrong.

Greece was no different.

The morning of our trip my Fiancé and I packed up our car and headed to my mothers house to drop off our dog and carpool to BOS (Boston Logan Airport).

We got to my Mothers house where she was packing away the last of her things. We talked about whose car we were taking and whose car was staying at the house. since the driveway was narrow I offered to move the cars out to get to my moms car and then r3e organize the cars back into the driveway. I tasked my brother and fiancé with bringing the bags to the car we were taking with us.

I move the cars when my mom asks me to pop the trunk. I stayed in the drivers seat as i heard them loading the car up. They came around and sat in the car "Is that everything? Ok lets go!"

We technically drove to my sisters house which is right outside of Boston and took an Uber to the airport since the parking is expensive and we hate driving into the city. I parked and booked the Uber and suggested that while we wait we take out the bags to not waste the Uber's time. I opened the trunk,

My Mom was white as a ghost as my brother and fiancé didn't notice.

"Lauren, where is your bag?" she said, I thought she was joking.

"It's we all have black rolling backpacks, check that the one in your hand is yours" I said as they checked their tags.

They forgot my bag.

My mom said "OK, do we have time to go back?" as the wave of realization came over me, "No we have perfect timing." my mom responded "ok do you have your passport?" I knew I had it in my purse as you would never pack it in your suitcase, but in that split second I didn't know what I still had on me. Luckily I found my passport, wallet, phone and charger all in my purse and was relieved. Did I go clothes shopping specifically for this trip - Yes. but with a passport and credit card the rest can be figured out I reminded my party of that as the Uber pulled up.

It was a quiet ride to the airport as I was texting my sister who was already in Greece what had unfolded in front of her house. She couldn't believe it. we tried to think of people that would be willing to grab my bag from my Moms living room and would be able to drive it to Boston in time but we were seriously making perfect time with traffic and the airport lines (thank you Global Entry/Precheck). As soon as we found our gate my Mom said maybe I could start shopping there. We joked that every port I will have to purchase a shirt (which I did). We walked around the airport but I really didn't want a sweatshirt with "BOSTON" in huge font when heading to Europe, but I found a cute shirt of the Boston Tea Party that i purchased. Went back to my family "one down... more to go" Virgin Voyages offers laundry service so we knew we did not need an actual week and a half's worth of cloths. We got on the plane had a meal and everyone started to fall asleep. Not me. I was stressing. I am not a big collector of souvenirs (a fridge magnet here and there) and plan most of my budget for food. No one wants to start their vacation having to go on a mandatory shopping trip especially since by European standards I am large and they might not have clothes that fit me. I cried a little knowing that this was not only stressing me out but now my family is stressing for me too. I felt like I had already ruined the vacation that hadn't even started yet.

sometimes katsuki gets really dramatic (but let’s be fr when isn’t he) and acts like you ghosted him when you don’t respond to his texts in thirty minutes. not in a creepy way, just in a dramatic, needy way.

he’s not worried or anything, he checks his phone every few minutes to see if any texts from you have come in. it’s a force of habit, because you usually respond pretty quickly but after a while it gets a little weird. and then he sends you a text and another one and unconsciously he starts spamming you a bit. again, not in a creepy way. just an annoying needy whiny dramatic baby, way.

“what’s up, bakubro ? you keep checking your phone.” katsuki doesn’t look at kirishima, eyes glued to his phone when he just grunts out an “‘m fine.”

and then kaminari just has to open his big mouth. his voice playful as he speaks “uh oh, trouble in paradiseee~?” katsuki scoffs, telling the blonde to fuck off.

and he isn’t worried..not at all. until he thinks about it and maybe there was trouble in paradise ?? were you maybe ignoring him ? what’d he do ?

you look up from your notebook at the sound of your phone vibrating. oh, it’s katsuki ! you smile just seeing his contact pop up.

“hi, katsu !”

silence, no response. you try again.

“…hello ?”

you hear a scoff from the other end, and some shuffling before your boyfriend graces you with an answer. “look at your phone, you idiot.”

“hello, katsu.” you snort. “yeah, yeah. hi.” you can practically hear the roll of his eyes through the phone, you giggle and your boyfriend huffs through the speaker.

it’s then that you see the wall of texts from him “oh, did you text me ? my bad i was studying.”

there’s a faint sigh of relief “‘s fine.”

“were you worried ?” you tease.

“fuck no. just—“ a sudden pause then katsuki grumbles “answer my texts next time, moron. bye. don’t overdo it while studying or i’ll kill you.”

“meanie !” you giggle, and when he hangs up you send him a text.

we can study together next time, just so you don’t flip out again 💗😚

katsuki scoffs a mean laugh, then sends you a middle finger.

A silly jester! Finally got around to modeling Jevil from Deltarune in 3D since he has been requested by a lot of people! 🎭

I'm a big fan of his sprite design plus I've been meaning to make his 3D model for a while now. I already made a drawing of him for a Tumblr ask, so I loosely based my model off of it and posed him in a similar way (I like to call it the "let's take ibuprofen together pose" :')). While my drawing is a lot more exaggerated, I tried to tone my 3D version down to make him more sprite accurate while still maintaining a decent degree of stylization. Hope you enjoy the spinny jester man!! 🎭

hey not to brag or anything but so far this summer I’ve seen 1 slime mold (dog vomit slime mold crawling on a stump along a trail) and 3 horsetail stands (the last one a couple days ago in a dirty ditch behind an office park) and 2 days ago I saw a pair of turkeys with 4 little fluffy baby turkeys between them. just so everyone knows and we’re on the same page here
