Koharu Sakurada and Aki Tamaki

Sakurada means "Cherry Blossom field"

Aki roughly translates to "Autumn"

Cherry Blossoms are not only associated with love, but their short lived blooms also signify the fleeting nature of life.

Autumn is the time of the year where trees shed their leaves, and is associated with grief in some cultures. But at the same time, it signifies new beginnings.

Koharu died young. Too young. Unlike Aki who had loved her since she was only nine years old, Koharu never had a chance to experience falling in love. And i think Aki feels guilty for that. For not confessing sooner, for not confessing later, for confessing at that place, at that time. Maybe then, she would still be alive, she would still have had a chance at experiencing love. And maybe she feels guilty for surviving the accident, for not being the one who died instead, for not being able to save her.

But she has to move on.

And moving on doesn't mean she didn't love Koharu any less, it didn't mean she didn't love her anymore. In fact, its the opposite.

Even years after her death, Aki still loved her.

She loved her for six years, and continued loving her for five more.

Aki loved her, and though that love and grief may not fade away anytime soon, she has to move on. For herself, and for Koharu.

Those cherry blossoms will bloom again one day, and though those flowers aren't the same as the ones from before, they are just as wonderful.

at first glance, "What Is This Feeling?" may seem like just a funsie song, except when you really think about it, it's really no less of a foreshadowing powerhouse device like every other song in wicked.

bc what do you mean at the very start they had glinda and elphaba musically yapping about how much they hate being in close proximity of each other, it's like fervid as a flame, does it have a name, unadulterated loathing, in such total detestation, it's so pure, it's so strong, though they admit it came on fast, still, they do believe it can last, and they'll be loathing, loathing each other their whole lives only for their story to end with the both of them absolutely loathing their whole lives the fact that they can never be together again???

i love the parallels in married in red cause we see bok-su ruin da jeong choi's life, the exact way she destroyed bok-su's. and we also see bok-su and da jeong choi say the same dialogues after being framed for the mistake/murder.

and dan myeong-hoon's name being hidden by the blood in the wedding board after da jeong choi runs away from the scene in a panic!!!!

bonus points for this amazing scene

its just so amazing, seeing da jeong choi in a state of panic in her bloody wedding dress where the blood is off her groom, as she thought she could run away from atonement and her saying the same dialogue as what bok-su said after being framed.

also its the fact that she can't escape from atonement at all, cause if she tries telling the truth by saying bok-su is the actual murderer, the motive of said murder will be questioned and da jeong choi has to come clean about the fact its her who made that medicial error and that she blamed bok-su and also destoryed her life.

its also sad knowing dan myeong-hoon got murdered while also being branded as a cheater when he was literally so in love with da jeong choi.

i love seeing bok-su slowly realize how shes not satisifed with da jeong choi facing atonement, in all the endings, we see bok-su never be satisfied. shes either killed, arrested or frames da jeong choi and still not satisfied.

my take on this is cause she still takes the oath that many medicial students take, to save lives. we see her even say it to da jeong choi, saying do you still save lives. the fact she killed someone is probably haunting her right now. she wanted to save lives and become a doctor, but in the end she killed an innocent man in the sake of atonement.

she realizes in the end shes doing just what da jeong choi did. its a full circle.

for more elaboration, they broke up much before Dragonberry’s change, mostly since Primrose cookie (who I have yet to elaborate is kinda cursed?) doesn’t want to end up getting hollyberry hurt because of her(I’ll one day show more specifically on it, though I’ll let yall theorize until then).

While yes Prim loves her to death, she loved her too much to ever want her curse harming her. Of course Hollyberry was abit buttered about it but accepted it, only if they could still stay close even if as friends. Despite Prim’s paranoia, she agrees. When dragonberry does change and Prim finds out what she had done, Primrose felt the holly she still loved and cared for was practically gone. The two would barely contact (mostly prim refusing to see her because of how painful such a thought was), though dragonberry, still caring for her, wanted her to come back. basically wanting her back, since despite everything she somehow still retains that love for the magician.

Primrose can’t get herself to see her, not with how she changed for the worst, despite the many promises they’ve made. It didn’t matter how much she loved her still inside, she can’t bring herself to side with her. Not anymore…she lost the pyre that kept her going, only for it to become a Hellish blaze of Pride….

Dragonberry seems to not let that stop her..Afterall, she’ll come back one way or another. The dear magician never stopped loving her, and would be pleased greatly to be in her arms again and by her side! She’ll be back, one way or another……right?…

so tldr: Primrose and Dragonberry are exes entirely. they still love each other, but Primrose feels she lost the love of her life. Dragonberry wants to get her back. Both be missin’ but never kissin’ anymoe.
