why? He needs someone who is very good, will not give up or send Tim out to a different specialist just because his medical condition is difficult, will not be overly concerned about the danger Tim puts himself in, and will lie on Tim's medical records AND to Batman/Bruce Wayne/all of the Bats without hesitation or fear.

House is and will do all of those things without hesitation. He has no shame, no boundaries, he WILL get into a public fight with Bruce Wayne if it means keeping that man out of his patient's (and House's) business. He will help Tim lie to and gaslight the rest of his family without hesitation.

in exchange, Tim is his favorite patient. Not because they get along, necessarily, Tim is a know-it-all little shit and they constantly bicker and House hates how practically every facet of Tim's existence is a lie (and Tim thinks House is a smug know-it-all jackass who is needlessly cruel and callous bc he thinks the world owes him and never delivers just bc he's in pain, news flash a lot of people are in pain and manage not to be assholes) BUT, 1, Tim brings him really interesting cases and problems, and 2, Tim NEVER lies to House about his medical conditions or what he was doing when they happened.

He lies about literally almost everything else under the sun TO everyone else, but he is 100% completely upfront and honest about his medical history and what is going on with him with House.

admittedly it takes a while for House to realize Tim ISN'T lying to him because some of the shit he says is completely insane ("the vigilante thing is pretty obvious but what do you MEAN you got the Apocalypse virus TWICE, AND SURVIVED, AS A FOURTEEN-FIFTEEN YEAR OLD")

but once he realizes Tim doesn't ever lie to him, he becomes House's favorite patient because at least TIM gives him all of the data he needs as best he's able the moment he asks. At least House doesn't have to waste his time following up on bogus information or figuring out the truth, he can just get right into the meat of the medical issue at hand.

To cap off this particular story, the kids are going on a day trip with their summer holiday club today and were both overwhelmed and bickering about whether or not to be partners and who'd get the window seat on the bus going there vs coming back yadda yadda yadda. In a desperate attempt to accomplish that crucial get them out the door step I let them know that Neil had found my post about the comic and liked it. 8yo's eyes nearly bugged out of her head and she apparently quite literally bounced all the way to the bus stop. Thanks Neil!

My 8yo has drawn a comic in which Aziraphale proposes to Crowley. It shows the proposal, them walking down the aisle, everyone applauding, and them holding hands with rings. The last panel shows them at home watching TV with Crowley falling asleep mid-show. They're surrounded by hearts. A little arrow points to the words "And everyone fans and all were very happy."

That's not best bit.

The best bit is that at the bottom of the page, she's scrawled "IT'S GONNA HAPPEN, NEIL! JUST ADMIT IT!!"

I think I had better not tell her that Neil Gaiman inhabits Tumblr and is technically accessible even to a small extent...!

As a certified dbda fan, I can suspend my disbelief about a lot of the iffier writing, but y'know what I still can't wrap my head around? The fact that Charles had childhood trauma that heavy and that relevant in his day to day life and somehow Edwin just... didn't know.

Like, you're telling me that in 35 years, Charles never mentioned it? Never alluded to it, never joked about it, never even accidentally implied it? The trauma from his childhood was so bad that it still deeply triggered him 35 years after the fact, to the point he was ready to physically assault the father in the Devlin house, and Edwin had apparently never figured that out?

Had the boys never come across a case with an abusive parent before? An abused child? Any violent man? Are we supposed to believe that this is the first time in 35 years that Charles has had to confront this trauma?

Because listen, I could believe it if in the Devlin house, when Crystal told Edwin about Charles' dad, Edwin had a reaction like "I thought that might be the case but I didn't want to believe it/mention it" but NO! He flat out just,,, didn't know?? How are you going to be a detective and not figure out that your best friend of 35 years has insane childhood trauma??

I think that Orym actually does doubt Imogen, but this isn't a thing that is unique to Imogen. Orym doubts all of them to an extent, because paranoia is something he struggles with (and this is continuously reinforced by the story).

It's not a 'good' thing that he should never get over, nor is it an immoral character flaw that proves he actually hates Imogen. However it's also not something I think he can get over as long as the threat of having to possibly fight his friends exists.

this is what i don't get. if nate really wanted to portray catra as this innocent and compassionate person, why does he keep describing her as such an asshole, even post-redemption?

he could have easily said something like “catra stole adora's shirt because it was comfy” and it would have sounded cute and romantic, but he had to go and specify that catra ripped up adora's clothing just so that she wouldn't wear it. because.. yeah. that's so romantic and not shitty at all.

Obviously Bonnie cooks! Prep cook is Odile for breakfast because she wakes up early, Isabeau or Mirabelle for lunch, and Siffrin for dinner because he's more of an evening person. Dish washer is Isabeau for breakfast bc he's energetic in the mornings, Siffrin for lunch, and Mirabelle or Odile for dinner. (But if anyone is out and about at their assigned time, someone else will happily step in.) Nille was really reluctant to let Bonnie be in charge of most meals because kids shouldn't have to do that, but she was won over by how much Bonnie enjoys it, so she only takes over as head chef when they ask her to. Otherwise, Nille does all of the grocery shopping, because it stresses her out to not know what food is in the house and how much it cost.

Odile likes having her own space just so, so she mostly just takes care of her own room and bathroom and cleans up after herself, and sweeps the floors so nothing gets tracked around. Sometimes Siffrin helps her, though, because he likes to quietly complete tasks with his family. But only Siffrin no one else is allowed to. :|

Siffrin, Isabeau, and Mirabelle share laundry; Isabeau usually washes it (3 people's is nothing compared to like 8+) (and he knows how to treat various fabrics and has strong laundry-hefting arms) and they all fold and put away together. Nille does hers and Bonnie's — unless Isabeau gets to it first. Nille keeps trying to get him back by doing his but he's always one step ahead. :/

Mirabelle cleans the bathrooms (except Odile's) because she thinks washing and scrubbing is super satisfying. Nille and Bonnie clean the kitchen because they're in charge of it anyway. Siffrin does the yardwork because they like methodical repetitive tasks, and being outside, and watching things grow. Everyone takes turns helping with the small garden, though!

People try to tidy up after themselves for the most part, but everyone has their own things they're more particular about and tend to fix if they notice it's been left messy: Mirabelle makes people's beds if she's hanging out in their room (perfectionist parents), Nille likes the shoes to all be lined up neatly by the door (paranoid about losing them), Isabeau brings people's stray belongings back to their rooms (siblings who sometimes borrowed/lost/broke items left in communal spaces), Odile brings stray dishes back to the kitchen (depressed dad). Bonnie is immune to this effect because they're young enough that they have to be coaxed into cleaning up even just their own stuff, and Siffrin is immune to this effect because they don't have any pre-existing house-living habits.

And, once a season everyone pitches in for a big deep-cleaning weekend!

(Loop is kinda in and out, and physically exempt from some human functions, so they don't have official chores. But they like helping Nille with the shopping/kitchen, and they usually let Isabeau wash their clothes, and they sometimes take on home improvement projects.)
