I have this HC for spider that I need to get out of my skull.
he was a cuddly baby. like, you could hold him, snuggle, even nap with him all day without a single complaint. he soaked up any and all physical affection he could.
now this isn't to mistake him with a sleepy baby, no no, he was something much more dangerous; he was the type of baby that would trick you into holding him all day, basically hiding his energy,, until you go to put him to bed, and he's up and running loops around you for hours.
basically, he was the perfect cuddle buddy, but he was also a ticking time bomb, because its so hard to tell when he needed to be held and given down time/a nap (cause he was god awful if he was over tired), when he just going with being held, and when he just wanted to be held (against the better judgment of his sleep schedule).
#this just feels correct#like spider just has mushy clingy baby vibes#but also hyperactive adhd baby vibes#this is the middle ground#and I love it#avatar 2#spider socorro#miles socorro#miles spider socorro#he definitely put norm through it#and in my mama neytiri au#he definitely had neytiri wrapped around his little finger#she just can't put him down#not when he cuddles up to her so contentedly#jake was put through the wringer was norm refused to stop handling the nightmare that was a hyperactive toddler spider#who refused to go to sleep#and was running around the lab screeching. getting into things. climbing things that shouldn't be climbed. etc.#live laugh love spider

the Arcane characters cuddling with their s/o in the morning
————————————————————————
Jinx
You wake up to the soft sound of Jinx’s gentle breathing against your chest, the two of you tangled under a pile of blankets. Her messy hair is tickling your neck as she clings to you, her arms wrapped tightly around your waist like she’s afraid you might disappear. She’s still half-asleep, mumbling random things as she snuggles closer, her lips brushing against your skin.
“Mmm, you’re so comfy,” she mumbles, her hand moving up to lazily play with a strand of your hair.
You smile, brushing a hand through her hair and kissing the top of her head. Jinx giggles sleepily, her eyes barely open, “Stay here forever. I like you close.”
It’s not often that Jinx lets her guard down like this, but in the early morning hours, she’s the most relaxed, a playful smile curling at the corner of her lips as she pulls you tighter. You’re her favorite safe place.
Vi
The sunlight spills through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. You wake up to find Vi’s arm slung across your chest, her head resting on your shoulder. Her breathing is slow and steady, and her usually tough demeanor softens in her sleep. You try not to disturb her, but she stirs when she feels you shift slightly.
“Morning, sweetheart,” she grumbles, her voice rough with sleep. She tightens her hold on you, pulling you closer.
Vi chuckles softly as she nuzzles her face into your neck, pressing a kiss against your skin. “You’re too comfortable, you know that?”
You laugh quietly, one hand gently rubbing her back, and she sighs contentedly. “Mm… just five more minutes,” she mumbles, and you both drift off again, wrapped in each other’s warmth.
Sevika
You wake up to the feeling of Sevika’s strong, protective arms around you, her body curled around yours like a shield. Her head rests against the top of your head, and for a moment, she doesn’t say anything, just holding you close.
“Good morning,” she finally murmurs, her voice rough but warm as she presses a kiss to your forehead. Her hand slides down your side, pulling you closer into her.
“You’re always so warm,” you tease softly, feeling her smile against your hair.
She lets out a low, sleepy laugh. “I try,” she says quietly. Sevika’s thumb traces small circles on your back, the sensation soothing you even more. The world feels far away, and in her arms, you feel safe.
You’re not sure if she always knows it, but in moments like this, Sevika’s strength feels more gentle, her love softer than anyone could imagine.
Silco
The morning light filters in, and you wake up to the feeling of Silco’s body pressed close to yours. His arm is wrapped around your waist, holding you protectively as you lay in the warmth of the bed. You turn slightly to face him, his face relaxed in sleep, the coldness of his usual exterior melting away.
For a moment, you just watch him, tracing the lines of his face with your eyes, noticing how vulnerable he looks without his usual tense posture.
Silco stirs slightly, his eyes flickering open. He blinks at you for a moment before his lips curl into a small, sleepy smile.
“Morning,” he murmurs, his hand reaching up to gently brush a stray strand of hair from your face.
You smile and lean into his touch, closing your eyes for a moment. “Morning,” you whisper back, and his grip tightens just slightly around you.
“You’re always so peaceful in the morning,” he says quietly, his voice low. “It’s… nice.”
You curl into him more, resting your head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart as you drift in the quiet of the morning together.
Vander
You wake up to the feeling of Vander’s arms wrapped around you, his body pressed against yours as you both lie tangled in the sheets. His breathing is steady, and for a moment, you just lay there, listening to the rhythm of his heart as he holds you close.
“Morning,” he mumbles, his voice deep and soothing as he presses a kiss to the top of your head.
You stretch and snuggle closer to him, your hand resting on his chest. Vander smiles, one hand moving to rub circles on your back. “You’re so warm,” he says with a chuckle.
“You’re not so bad yourself,” you reply playfully, your fingers tracing the lines of his muscles under his shirt.
Vander grins, pulling you tighter against him. “You’re always welcome here,” he murmurs, his voice tender and protective.
For a moment, everything feels perfect as you lay in each other’s arms, the world outside feeling far away.
Ekko
You wake up to the sound of Ekko’s soft breathing, his arm draped around your waist as he sleeps next to you. His face is relaxed, and for a moment, you just admire the peaceful expression on his face.
When he stirs, he shifts slightly, pulling you closer as he murmurs in his sleep, “Just five more minutes…”
You chuckle softly, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “I’m not going anywhere,” you whisper, and that seems to be enough to get him to wake up fully.
Ekko groggily opens his eyes, his hand running through his hair as he looks at you with a sleepy smile. “Morning,” he mumbles.
You smile and kiss him softly on the lips. “Good morning.”
He pulls you closer, his hand gently caressing your back as he nuzzles into your neck. “I love mornings like this,” he murmurs, and you hold him just a little tighter.
It’s easy to forget the chaos of the world when you’re wrapped in each other’s arms.
Jayce
Jayce wakes up slowly, his body pressed against yours as he stirs from his slumber. He lets out a small groan, rubbing his eyes as he pulls you closer to him. You can feel the warmth of his body against yours, and for a moment, he just holds you in comfortable silence.
“Morning, love,” he mumbles, pressing a kiss to your forehead as he brushes a strand of hair out of your face.
You smile softly, nuzzling closer to him. “Good morning,” you reply, your voice still quiet with sleep.
Jayce chuckles softly and lazily runs his hand up and down your back. “You know, I never want to get out of bed when I’m with you,” he murmurs.
You laugh softly. “Maybe we don’t have to. Just a few more minutes.”
Jayce grins, his fingers gently tracing the line of your jaw. “I could get used to this,” he says, pulling you even closer as the two of you drift back into the warmth of each other.
Victor
You wake up to find Victor’s face just inches away from yours, his soft breathing tickling your skin as he lays beside you. His hand is gently resting on your waist, and you can feel the heat of his touch even through the blankets.
As you shift slightly, he stirs and his hand tightens around you instinctively. “Morning,” he whispers sleepily, his voice soft and groggy.
You smile and run your fingers through his hair, brushing it from his forehead. “Good morning,” you reply, your voice calm and gentle.
Victor opens his eyes, blinking at you for a moment before a small smile tugs at the corners of his lips. “I could stay like this forever,” he murmurs, his voice full of quiet affection.
You snuggle up against him, closing your eyes for a moment, both of you content in the shared warmth and silence. It’s a peaceful start to the day, and for once, the world feels quiet and still.
Caitlyn
You wake up with Caitlyn’s arms wrapped around you, her head resting softly on your chest. She stirs when you move, and her eyes flutter open. For a moment, she just looks at you, her gaze soft and full of affection.
“Good morning,” Caitlyn whispers, her voice still a little rough with sleep. She presses a gentle kiss to your lips, lingering for a moment before pulling back with a smile.
“Morning,” you reply, your hand gently stroking her hair.
She stretches, still holding onto you, before letting out a content sigh. “I could get used to mornings like this.”
Caitlyn rests her head on your chest again, her arms tightening around you. “Just a little longer?” she asks softly.
You nod, smiling as you pull her closer. “Of course.”
In that moment, with her warmth and the quiet of the morning, everything else fades away, leaving just the two of you.

You stirred, groggy and disoriented, ready to get up and soothe Mabel. But before you could swing your legs over the edge of the bed, Rafe’s arm gently draped over your waist, holding you back.
“Go back to sleep, babe,” he murmured, his voice a low, sleepy rumble. “I’ll handle it.” You blinked, still half-asleep, and watched as Rafe swung his legs out of bed and stood up. The dim light from the hallway cast a soft glow on his bare back, highlighting the defined muscles as he stretched and ran a hand through his tousled hair.
His footsteps were nearly silent as he padded towards the nursery. You couldn’t help but smile as you lay back down, pulling the covers up to your chin. You and Rafe had just started training Mabel to sleep by herself in her cot. One week in, and you were both exhausted, barely getting any sleep due to her constant cries in the middle of the night.
Rafe entered the nursery, his voice low and soothing as he spoke to your daughter. You could hear the gentle cooing sounds he made, and the soft rustling of blankets as he lifted her from the crib. She quieted almost immediately, her little hiccups fading as she nestled against his chest.
A few minutes later, you were practically awake now. The soft cry of Mabel had faded. You turned your head to the clock on your bedside table, the faint blue light illuminating the numbers: 2:34 AM. The house was quiet again, but you could hear the soft murmur of Rafe’s voice from the nursery.
Gently, you slipped out of bed, careful not to make a sound as you padded across the hardwood floor. You wrapped your robe around yourself, securing the belt as you walked towards the nursery.
Leaning against the door frame, you watched as Rafe swayed gently from side to side, humming a soft lullaby. The sight of him, shirtless and strong, cradling your daughter so tenderly made your heart swell with love.
Mabel looked up at him with wide, curious eyes, her tiny hand clutching at his chest. Rafe smiled down at her, his eyes filled with a love so profound it made your chest ache. He leaned down and kissed her forehead, his lips lingering there for a moment as he whispered sweet words of comfort.
“Shh, it’s okay, baby girl. Daddy’s here,” he murmured softly. You leaned against the door frame, your heart overflowing with love for the man standing before you. This was the side of Rafe that few people got to see—the tender, nurturing side that he reserved for his family.
Rafe’s eyes lifted from your daughter and met yours, a tired but content smile spreading across his face. “She just needed a cuddle,” he whispered, his voice barely audible over the soft sounds of the nursery.
He gently laid her back down in the crib, tucking her in with practiced ease. She sighed contentedly, her little hand reaching out to grasp his finger one last time before she drifted back to sleep.
Rafe turned off the nightlight and walked back towards you. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close as you both stood there for a moment, watching your baby girl sleep peacefully.
“Thank you,” you whispered, leaning your head against his chest. Rafe pressed a kiss to your temple, his breath warm against your skin. “Anything for my girls,” he replied softly.

how about another bucky fic but instead the reader is all drunk and acting lovey dovey with him accidentally revealing her feelings towards him :)
Bucky sat, practically motionless on the kitchen stool—brooding the the sheer silence. His brood session was unfortunately disrupted as the door the kitchen slammed open with a harsh thud, he startled, back straightening and eyes narrowing as he stealthily grabbed a knife from the mantle and snuck up from his seat.
He slammed the presence into the counter mercilessly, wielding the knife, only to be met by the sound of your inhibited giggles and the scent of your perfume.
Bucky released you in an insist, stepping back from you immediately and lowering the knife.
“Nooo. Stay.” You whined out drunkenly, a glazed over look in your pretty eyes, hands reaching for him with a deep (adorable) pout on your lips. “Come back please.”
“I—Y/N—“ He furrowed his brow nervously as his heart beat stuttered, “you’re drunk?”
“What, no!” You exclaimed, waving your hand about flippantly and making a face at his face, attempting a causal pose against the kitchen counter, resting your head on your hand. “I—“ You hiccuped, “have never, ev—er, been drunk a day in my life.” You nodded, seriously.
He stared at you, eyebrows raised, a faint amused smirk threatening to curl up his lips.
Your seriousness was broken as you giggled, twirling yourself in circles. Bucky watched with secret fondness, stepping closer to you in case he had to save you from a fall, which he did.
As his arm caught your waist to steady, you all but melted against him, humming contentedly.
His eyes widened slightly at the noises of happiness escaping you, taken back, he allowed his arms to loosen around you.
“No!” You snapped softly, pulling his arms back tightly around your waist. “Mhmm—I—I like when you touch me. And—just when you look at really. It’s nice to—be noticed be you.” Your slurred, swaying side to side casually and holding his arms around your waist.
Bucky almost fell over.
“Wha—“
“You’ve got really nice eyes.” You admitted, unashamed. “I—i like looking at them, i—f-feel happy looking at all of you,” you giggled, “these especially.” Your hands reached up and squeezed his biceps to further your point.
“I—“
“Nat says that means I have a crush on you,” You face turned into a pouty-angry-sad look that he couldn’t see but heard through your tone, “but—I don’t want to, because you didn’t crush on me back—“ you almost whined.
“Bu—“
“A—and that’s okay, I can think you’re really pretty and strong and brave and k—kind to myself.” You slurred, sounding pleased with your logic as you lifted his hands up and kissed the backs of them (again, Bucky almost fell onto his arse), before settling them at your hips and spinning to face him, entwining your arms around his neck and cuddling into his chest with a content hum.
“Y—“
“And—I—“
“Y/N.” Bucky finally cut you off, softly but pointedly. He squeezed at your hips, pulling you back slightly so you could make eye contact. “You’re going to regret saying all this tomorrow, and I don’t want you regretting even more so how bout some quiet doll, for your sake.”
You blinked twice at him before humming in acceptance, burying your face back into his chest.
“And—I’m probably gonna regret admitting this too—“ He brought out, hesitantly and quietly as he squeezed you again, “but I really do crush on you back doll.”
You snored softly against his chest.
Bucky smiled down at you fondly.
(He’d tell you again tomorrow)

#. CATS AND CUDDLES
featuring 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝘅 𝗳𝗲𝗺!𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 ıllı. kaji ren, takiishi chika, sakura haruka, umemiya hajime, togame jo, kiryu mitsuki, suo hayato, endo yamato
fluff. and you thought your boyfriend couldn't get any more cuter, but him with your cat was another definition of the word adorable.
KAJI REN
Kaji arrived at your house while you were still at school, his hand reaching out to his hoodie on the chair. He needed it since all his others were in the wash. But as he turned to open a new lollipop, he glanced back at the chair—and the hoodie was gone.
“What the...” he muttered, looking around in confusion. He saw the hoodie again, this time on your bed. As he approached, it seemed to move of its own accord, sliding off the bed and onto the floor. His eyes widened as it began to scuttle around between his legs.
He rubbed his eyes, certain the lollipop's ingredients must be playing tricks on him. But there was no mistaking it—the hoodie was running away from him! “Just what candy did you give me, Y/N?” he muttered, shaking his head as he took off after the ghost.
He chased it through the apartment, his heart racing with both confusion and amusement. The hoodie darted around corners and through rooms with surprising agility. Kaji, determined to catch it, stumbled and finally managed to grab it. Panting, he looked down, only to see your cat emerging from under the hood, stretching lazily. "Meow."
Kaji blinked at the cat, his cheeks flushing slightly. “Don’t tell Y/N about this,” he said, knowing full well that the cat couldn’t talk. But in a world where hoodies could run away, he wasn’t taking any chances.
TAKIISHI CHIKA
You invited him over, hoping for a quiet evening indoors away from everyone and everything, especially away from Endo. The mood was perfect until your cat decided to make it's presence known.
Chika had always claimed he hated cats, but yours was determined to change his mind. Circling his legs, brushing against them and meowing softly. Each time, your boyfriend would gently push her away, his expression growing more annoyed by the second.
"I'm just going to grab some drinks. Be right back," you said, kissing his cheek and leaving the room.
When you returned five minutes later, you stopped dead in your tracks. The red-head sat on the couch, his usual grumpy face adorned with slightly narrowed eyes and furrowed eyebrows. Yet, his hand was gently stroking your pet who purred contentedly in his lap.
"Having fun?" you teased, a smile tugging at your lips as as your eyes were filled with adoration, your boyfriend and your cat were so cute. Chika's eyes flicked up to meet yours, "She wouldn't leave me alone," he muttered, but the way his hand continued to pet the kitten told a different story.
"Sure, she wouldn't," you replied, setting the drinks down on the coffee table. "I wouldn't leave you alone even if you wanted me to."
"Really," he insisted, but there was no venom in his tone. Instead, there was a hint of something softer, almost fond. You sat down next to him, reaching over to give your cat a scratch behind the ears. "Looks like she's warming up to you." Chika huffed, but his fingers continued their gentle movements, running through the soft fur. "She's persistent..."
"Just like someone else I know," you said, nudging him playfully. He rolled his eyes but didn't stop petting the cat. "Don't compare me to a cat."
You chuckled, leaning your head on his shoulder. "Why not? You're both stubborn and adorable."
SAKURA HARUKA
You wrap your arms around Sakura, feeling him stiffen slightly before he relaxes into your embrace. He’s still getting used to your hugs and the physical affection you shower on him. His pale cheeks tint with a soft pink as he turns his head to look at you, a shy smile tugging at his lips.
One evening, you introduce him to your cat. The fluffy creature eyes him curiously before sauntering over, rubbing against his legs. Sakura hesitates, then gently kneels to pet the cat, his touch delicate as if not to hurt it.
As the days pass, he starts spending more time with your cat. He notices how it follows him around the apartment, always seeking his warmth and presence. Whenever he sits down, the cat immediately curls up in his lap, purring contentedly as he strokes its fur.
You lay together on your bed, your cat nestled between you, Sakura looks at you, with an expression you will never mistake — he is in love.
“You know,” he begins softly, “you and your cat are a lot alike.” You tilt your head in curiosity, signaling him to continue.
“Both of you always search for me, wanting to be close, to cuddle. You both make me feel... wanted.”
His words make your heart flutter and your eyes water with small tears. You smile, reaching out to hold his hand. “We both love you, Haru. How could we not want to be near you?”
Sakura’s eyes soften, and he squeezes your hand gently. The cat purrs louder, as if in agreement, and Sakura laughs quietly, the sound warm and tender.
In that moment, surrounded by the gentle presence of your cat and the warmth of your love, Sakura feels a sense of belonging he never knew he needed, he was loved and wanted. And he will be forever thankful that you chose him over anyone in this world.
UMEMIYA HAJIME
You watched him from the doorway, holding your phone just out of sight, trying to capture the scene without disturbing its delicate peace. Umemiya sits comfortably on the couch, absorbed in his book, while the soft glow of the late afternoon sun filters through the window, casting a warm, golden hue over everything. On his lap, your cat snoozes peacefully, a contented purr vibrating from its small body, a slight smile on its face.
Hajime absentmindedly strokes the cat’s fur, his fingers moving in a slow, rhythmic pattern that seems to soothe both the cat and himself. His expression is calm and focused, his lips occasionally twitching into a smile as he reads a particularly interesting book about plants. The entire scene looks like it’s been lifted straight out of an old movie, every detail perfect and impossibly charming.
You can't resist whispering, "You're like something out of a dream, you know that?" He looks up, slightly startled but quickly relaxing when he sees you. A soft smile spreads across his face, his eyes holding their undying affection for you. "Oh? And what makes you say that?"
"Just look at you," you say, stepping closer, still recording. "The book, the cat, the sunlight... it's all too perfect. I feel like I’m in a classic romance film."
He chuckles, a low, warm sound that makes your heart flutter. "Well, as long as I get to be your leading man, I don't mind."
You sit beside him, the cat shifting slightly but not waking. "You’re doing a great job so far," you tease, resting your head on his shoulder. "Can I join in on this perfect moment?"
Hajime leans over and kisses the top of your head gently. "You already are," he murmurs. "This moment wouldn’t be perfect without you."
You close your eyes, savoring the warmth of his words and the serenity of the scene. The cat's purring, Hajime's presence, and the soft rustle of pages turning — wishing this could last forever.
TOGAME JO
You stepped into the house, and for the first time it's too quiet, you could only hear your own breathing and footsteps until reaching the bedroom as you catched your boyfriend sprawled across the bed, his chest rising and falling with his deep, peaceful breaths. Curled up on top of him is your cat, purring softly.
Standing in the doorway for a moment, you were just watching them. It's a sight to behold, perfect picture—one that fills your heart with so much love and adoration. Carefully, you move closer, trying not to disturb them but as you step forward, the floor creaks ever so slightly.
Togame stirs, his eyes fluttering open. He doesn’t say anything at first, just blinks sleepily at you. Then, with his lazy smile, he reaches out, his hand warm as it finds yours and pulls you gently into his arms. You melt into his embrace, your head resting on his shoulder, feeling the soft rise and fall of his breath beneath you and the cat adjusts itself, purring louder.
"Sweet dreams, angel," he whispers, his voice a soft murmur against your ear. You feel his lips brush your forehead, a gentle, comforting touch that makes your heart flutter even more.
From the outside, the scene is simple as it can be. You, Togame, and the cat—together, you look like a small family, and maybe some years later you will be one.
KIRYU MITSUKI
Your boyfriend is going to be over at your house for a first time since you guys started dating. He has scene your room from video calls during game nights but he was more excited to see your cat because you have been spamming him like crazy in the dms with cute and silly photos of your pet.
As you step back into your room, cradling your cat in your arms like a baby, you see Kiryu sitting on the edge of your bed, looking at his phone. His face lights up the moment he notices you. He puts his phone aside and his eyes sparkle with excitement.
"Hey, there she is," he says with a warm smile, his voice soft and affectionate. "I've been waiting to meet this little star."
You walk over and gently place your cat in his lap. She looks up at him with curious eyes, and he chuckles, stroking her fur gently. She was just like you, melting and relaxing at his touch, maybe ita true that the pets behave like their owners.
"She's even cuter in person," he murmurs, looking up at you with a grin. "Just like you." You blush, feeling your heart flutter at his words. "I'm glad you think so. She's been looking forward to meeting you too."
Kiryu continues to pet your cat, his touch tender and careful, "I've seen so many pictures of her, but ... It's nice to finally be here with you both." and the reason for your death is going to be your own boyfriend with his cute face and honey like words — what a sweet death indeed.
SUO HAYATO
The soft hum of birthday music filled the room, mingling with the occasional meow from your cat, who was delightfully eyeing the small, cat-friendly cake you’d made just for him. You had planned this little surprise to make the day special, and it was the best desicion ever.
Your boyfriend was the heart of this adorable celebration, well he couldn't outdo the birthday boy. He had a party hat perched jauntily atop his head, and he looked utterly irresistible with it. And the cat was nestled comfortably in his lap and seemed to be enjoying the moment just as much.
You couldn’t resist the urge to capture this perfect snapshot. Your phone was out in an instant, your finger tapping the screen to snap a photo.
“What’s with the sneaky photo-taking?” Suo asked, glancing up to look at you, his voice warm and affectionate. His fingers gently scratched behind the pet’s ears, making the cat purr contentedly.
You grinned, stepping closer to him. “Just wanted to capture this moment,” you said, showing him the photo. “You look adorable with that party hat and he is enjoying his birthday bash. It’s perfect.”
Hayato chuckled softly, dropping you his iconic eye smile. ”I have to admit, this is the cutest party I’ve ever been to.” He adjusted the party hat slightly, making sure it was sitting just right. “Though I have to ask—what’s my prize for being the best-dressed guest?”
You raised an eyebrow playfully, pretending to ponder his request. “Hmm, let me think… how about a dance with the most charming guest of honor?” You extended a hand, and Suo’s grin widened as he took your hand, standing up and gently shifting the cat to a cozy spot on the couch, like a King watching his princess dancing with Prince Charming. “A dance with the host? Sounds like an offer I can’t refuse. After you, my lady.”
ENDO YAMATO
Endo wakes up to something soft and fluffy tickling his mouth. As he blinks his eyes open, he finds your cat nestled comfortably between you and him, its long tail flicking gently. He chuckles softly, reaching out to pet the cat, who responds with a contented purr.
You stir beside him, your eyes fluttering open just enough to catch the heartwarming sight. The big, bad-tattooed wolf, as you teasingly call him, is gently stroking the cat, his rough exterior contrasting with the tender moment. You can't help but smile, your heart swelling with affection.
“Morning,” you murmur, your voice thick with sleep. Endo’s eyes shift to meet yours, and a soft, loving smile tugs at his lips. “Morning, beautiful,” he replies, his voice as warm and comforting as the embrace he keeps you in.
Your eyelids droop again, heavy with lingering drowsiness. But before sleep can claim you once more, he carefully scoops you and the cat closer, wrapping his strong arms around both of you. You nuzzle into his warmth, a contented sigh escaping your lips.
“I will be late for work,” you mumble, voice still laced with that morning haze when your boyfriend hums, a deep, soothing sound that vibrates through his chest. “Call in sick,” he murmurs against your hair. “I want you to myself today.”
You smile, eyes still closed, basking in the peaceful moment. The cat purrs louder, as if in agreement, and you feel Endo’s lips press a gentle kiss to your forehead.
“Alright,” you whisper back, snuggling closer to him. “Just today.”
Endo’s arms tighten around you, and you feel the rumble of his satisfied chuckle. “Good. Now go back to sleep. We have all day.”
With that, you let yourself drift off again, feeling utterly safe and comfy in his embrace, your cat’s purrs lulling you back into a peaceful slumber.
A couple of hours later, you wake up again, this time to the sound of soft murmuring. You open your eyes to find Endo on the phone, his voice low and soothing, as he scratches the cat behind the ears.
“Yeah, she’s not feeling well today,” he says, glancing down at you with a wink. “She will see you tomorrow. Thanks.” He hangs up and looks at you with a playful grin. “All taken care of.”
You stretch. “You’re too good to me, Endo.” He leans in, brushing his lips against yours in a sweet kiss. “You deserve it, baby,” he whispers “Now, how about breakfast in bed?”

Warning: comfort/fluff
Summary: Request!
A/N: This was kind of rushed so i'm going to turn it into a mini series because i really do have a-lot to add when it comes to everything that has to do with their relationships, the baby itself and Y/n. If you would like to be added to this separate taglist comment down below!

“Baby, your tummy feels weird,” I.N said, a frown knitting his brows together as he tilted his head slightly to look up at her.
They were cuddled together on the couch, enjoying a lazy day at home. I.N’s head rested on Y/N’s lap while she absentmindedly stroked the back of his head, something he always adored. But today, he didn’t seem quite right.
“What do you mean, love?” Y/N giggled, leaning down to plant a soft kiss on his frown, hoping to erase it.
“I don’t know… it just feels hard and strange,” he replied, poking at her abdomen gently, causing her to flinch.
“Baby, stop that!” she laughed, swatting his finger away playfully.
“Seriously! It’s so hard and not squishy like it usually is,” he said, shrugging his shoulders with concern. “Are you on your period?”
“No, my love, not yet. Maybe it’s just because I’ve eaten too much?” she suggested, trying to lighten the mood.
“Hmm, maybe,” he agreed, resting his head back on her lap. They spent the rest of the afternoon watching movies, snuggled under a cozy blanket. But when Chan called, asking if they could pick up some groceries for dinner, they reluctantly decided to get dressed and head out.
“I like having you home,” Y/N said, intertwining their fingers as they walked to the store.
“I like being home with you,” I.N replied, planting a gentle kiss on her temple. The walk was short, but Y/N felt every step weighing her down.
“Are you okay?” I.N chuckled, noticing her panting slightly as they reached the store. “You look a little out of breath.”
“Yes, just a bit winded! Damn, how long has it been since we walked to the store?” she gasped for air, trying to play it off.
“We were just here last week for shampoo, babe,” I.N teased, a grin spreading across his face.
“Oh my God, maybe I’m just getting fat because that felt like a workout,” she sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes. I.N laughed softly and grabbed the shopping basket like the gentleman he was, following her as she picked out everything they needed—and a few treats for Felix’s baking cabinet.
Once they got home and put away the groceries, Y/N flopped onto the couch. “Can we take a nap?” she asked, her voice slightly muffled against the cushions.
“Babe, we just woke up from one!” I.N said, furrowing his brows in confusion.
“I know, but I still feel really tired. That was a workout, and my back aches,” she huffed, stretching out on the couch.
“Your back aches?” His tone shifted from playful to worried in an instant. “How bad is it?”
“Just a little bit. It’s nothing serious,” she reassured him with a pout, pulling him toward his room. “Cuddle me, please.”
“Alright, but let me grab some cream for your back first. Remove your shirt,” he instructed, and she nodded, slipping off her shirt and lying down comfortably.
When I.N returned with the cream, he lay beside her, his warm hands gently starting to massage the area where her back ached. She let out soft whimpers of relief, her eyes fluttering shut as he worked his magic.
“Is that better?” he asked, his voice low and soothing.
“Mmm, much better,” she sighed contentedly, feeling her body relax beneath his touch. Before long, she succumbed to sleep, her breathing steady and peaceful. Satisfied, I.N tidied up the room and put everything away, glancing back at her with a smile before heading downstairs to await the others.
When the boys finally made it home, the sound of laughter filled the air. Chan peeked into I.N's room, raising an eyebrow when he saw Y/N still asleep, a content smile on her face.
“Did you take good care of her?” Chan asked, crossing his arms with a smirk.
“Yeah, she took another nap. She said she was tired,” I.N replied casually as he flipped through the channels on the TV.
“Tired again?” Leeknow asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
“Yeah, we went to the store, and she said her back ached, so I gave her a massage and put her to sleep,” I.N explained, a hint of pride in his voice.
“Maybe her period is about to come. I’ll check the app later,” Leeknow suggested. He leaned in to give I.N a quick kiss before heading up to his room, making sure to check in on Y/N before disappearing to take a shower.
“How was your day, guys?” I.N asked as the rest of the boys slowly started to filter into the room.
“Missed you,” Han said automatically, crawling onto I.N’s lap and snuggling in without a second thought.
“I missed you too, baby,” I.N replied with a smile, wrapping his arms around Han.
“I’ll go check on Y/N,” Felix announced, hopping up and making his way to I.N’s room. Once inside, he climbed onto the bed, instantly cuddling up against her.
Y/N stirred slightly, opening her eyes to see Felix’s tousled blonde hair in her face. She let out a soft giggle before speaking. “Hey, bub,” she said, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead.
“Hi, hi, hi!” Felix cheered, showering her with light kisses. Knowing how much he loved to be the little spoon, she turned and held him close.
“Missed you,” she murmured, running her fingers through his hair.
“Missed you too,” he replied, wrapping his leg around her waist and burying his head against her chest. She let out a soft groan as his head nestled right on her sore breasts.
What the hell was going on with her body?
“You’re cuddly today,” she chuckled, continuing to play with his hair.
“You smell nice and feel soft,” he said dreamily, slowly drifting off to sleep. Y/N smiled, allowing him to relax, knowing how exhausting practice could be. She grabbed her phone, curious to check her flow app.
As she scrolled, her jaw dropped in shock. “Oh no…” she gasped, causing Felix to stir slightly but not wake up.
The app showed that she had missed her period. But how? She was always on top of tracking it!
Panic flooded her thoughts as she glanced at the time—it was still only 7 in the evening. She needed to get pregnancy tests. Quickly but quietly, she wiggled out of Felix’s grip and rushed downstairs.
“Woah, woah, woah! Hey there!” Hyunjin chuckled as she nearly knocked into him.
“Hey, bye!” she called over her shoulder, slipping her hand from his grip as she hurried to put on her slippers.
“Are we not getting a welcome home?” Chan yelled, but she was already out the door and in her car, heart racing.
The drive was short, but her mind was racing with negative thoughts. What if? Could she really be…? She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts as she parked.
Taking a deep breath, she stepped out and headed into the store, her heart pounding in her chest. The fluorescent lights felt almost too bright, but she pushed through, grabbing a couple of pregnancy tests and making her way to the self-checkout.
“Come on, come on…” she muttered under her breath, scanning the items quickly and hoping no one was judging her for the sudden purchase. After paying, she hurried back to her car, clutching the small bag tightly.
As she drove home, every worst-case scenario flooded her mind. What if she was pregnant? How would the boys react? Would they be supportive? Or would they panic?
Pulling into the driveway, she took a moment to collect herself. She couldn’t let them see her like this, all frazzled and scared. She had to stay calm.
With a deep breath, she walked inside, trying to put on a brave face. As she entered the living room, she was met with the warm chaos of her boyfriends, laughter filling the air.
"Hey, everyone!" Y/N managed to say, forcing a smile as she stepped into the living room. She hoped they wouldn't pry too much about what was in the bag she clutched tightly to her chest.
"Hey, baby!" Leeknow greeted her, the warmth in his voice putting her at ease for a moment. "I'm going to start on dinner, okay?" He leaned in and gave her a quick, reassuring kiss before heading to the kitchen.
"Where did you run off too?" Hyunjin asked, not missing a beat as he continued playing video games with Changbin. His eyes flicked to her, curiosity evident in his gaze.
"I went to get some… pads," she lied, her heart racing. She felt like she was about to pass out from the weight of the truth.
"You could've just asked me to run to the store, babe," Chan chimed in, looking up from his phone. "At least we know you've been feeling down lately because of your period."
"Yeah, I guess so," she replied, her voice slightly shaky. "I'm going to go put some on, then I'll come say hi properly."
"Wake up Felix for me! I don't want him sleeping too much," Leeknow called from the kitchen.
"Alright!" she responded, her mind already racing as she dashed upstairs to her room. Once inside the bathroom, she locked the door behind her, hands trembling as she read the instructions on the pregnancy test.
With each step, her anxiety spiked. "What am I going to do?" she whispered to herself, burying her head in her hands. It felt like the walls were closing in, and tears threatened to spill as she watched the timer tick down agonizingly slow. When it finally went off, she felt like she wasn't ready at all.
"Just rip it off like a band-aid. Don't be scared, Y/N," she encouraged herself, her voice barely above a whisper. She took a deep breath and turned over one of the tests.
"Oh no, no, no…" she gasped, her heart plummeting as she checked the other two. They all said the same thing-positive.
That was it...it was official, she was carrying a baby.
After taking a cold shower to calm down, Y/N made her way to I.N's room to wake up Felix. He was deep in sleep, snoring softly, looking utterly peaceful.
"Baby, you have to wash up and come down for dinner," she said gently, brushing her fingers through his hair. He groaned in response and rubbed his eyes, reluctantly stirring.
Once he was up, they went their opposite ways: Y/N heading downstairs to join the rest of the boys, who were chattering and playing games. She tiptoed over to Han, who was engrossed in his phone. Leaning down, she showered him with soft kisses until his cheeks flushed a deep tomato red.
"Okay, moving on!" she giggled, moving to the next person. She made sure to repeat this with all the boys, leaving a trail of smiles in her wake, before finally settling down next to Chan, who was the only one available.
"Did you have a good day today?" Chan asked, rubbing her back lightly. "Any cramps?"
"Um, no… I just stayed with Innie the whole day, watching movies. What about you?" She felt a wave of uncertainty wash over her-was this the right time to tell them?
“Oh, you know, the usual,” he replied, rolling his eyes playfully. She decided to give him a quick massage on his shoulder as they waited for Leeknow to finish dinner.
A few minutes later, Felix came bounding down the stairs, a bag in hand. Y/N’s eyes widened in panic as she shot up from her seat. No way he found them!
“Y/Nnie!” Felix squealed, his voice piercing through the room. Everyone turned to look at him, curiosity written on their faces.
“Y/Nnie, you’re pregnant?!” Felix practically shouted, his excitement making everyone’s jaws drop.
“What is he talking about?” Chan asked, looking at her with wide eyes. Y/N was in shock, quickly snatching the bag out of Felix's hand.
“Felix, how many times do I have to tell you not to go through my stuff?” she snapped, her heart racing.
“I was just grabbing my moisturizer from your bathroom…” he said, taking a step back, frowning.
“Wait, hold on. Why are you getting mad at him?” Changbin stood up, his brows furrowing. “Are you pregnant?”
I.N grabbed the bag from her, ripping it open to pull out the pregnancy tests. “Holy shit… s-she’s actually pregnant…” His eyes widened in disbelief as he lost his balance, falling back into his seat, while Chan snatched the tests from his hands.
"You didn't tell us?" Chan looked at her, disappointment etched on his face.
"I took three tests, and they all say the same thing," she replied, feeling tears welling up again. "I don't know what to do!"
Chan immediately wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a comforting embrace.
"What's all the commotion?" Leeknow asked, walking into the room, a knife in hand.
"Y/N's pregnant," Seungmin repeated, almost in disbelief.
"What? I thought… wait, hold on…" Leeknow huffed, scanning the room for a seat as if he needed to process this news.
"I-I… I'm sorry, okay? I just took the test. I was going to tell you guys."
"When?" Han pouted, crossing his arms.
"I don't know! I freaked out! This is a lot, okay?" she huffed, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Is that why you ran out of the house?" Hyunjin asked, and she nodded, looking away.
"Holy shi- a baby? A whole baby…" Chan gasped, glancing around the room as if the walls were closing in on them.
"Is that why your stomach feels weird noona?" I.N asked looking at her curiously.
"That's probably one of the reasons yeah," she replied.
"Wah.." he gasped looking amazed. He knew something was off earlier on. He had felt it.
"I never knew it would be this soon," Seungmin said. He was honestly confused and didn't know how to feel about the situation. He just felt bad for her because she was probably scared shitless.
"okay.." Leeknow finally spoke, "we need to have a conversation about condoms and how to use them because obviously one of you slipped up," he rolled his eyes looking at the boys. They all laugh but try to hide it making it even more funnier.
Chan on the other hand looked stressed as fuck.
"Chan say something please.." She begged looking at him.
"oh baby girl, i'm just in shock thats all," he sighed wiping away her stray tears. "I can… I can abort it—"
“NO!” they all shouted in unison, causing her to flinch.
“You actually want me to keep it?” It was her turn to sit down, the weight of the situation crashing over her. Was this actually happening?
“I mean… yeah?” Changbin shrugged. “I don’t mind it.”
“I wouldn’t mind having a kid running around,” Felix added, his face lighting up at the thought.
"That would actually be sick, imagine a baby coming with us on tour!" Hyunjin hyped up the situation even more.
"What if there twins?!" Seungmin claps his hands in excitement.
"or Quadtruplets?!" Han gasps.
"Those do run in my family," I.N says smirking.
Y/n couldnt help but smile at the fact that they where excited for this. It made her feel a little better now although she still wasn't sure about the whole situation.
"Plus, we're all financially stable to take care of one. I don't see why not," Han chimed in, nodding in agreement
"Okay, woah, woah, woah, guys. Let's slow down for a second and ask the person who's actually carrying the baby if they're okay with it," Chan said, raising his hands to calm the excitement.
Everyone's eyes landed on her, anticipation hanging thick in the air. Y/N took a deep breath, her heart racing. She really wasnt expecting this at all and although she felt like she wasnt ready, the way the boys looked at her with hope was the only answer she needed.
"Oh… I guess… let's have a baby? I just-what if I'm not ready for this? What if it changes everything?"
"Life is full of surprises," Chan said gently, kissing her forehead. "But we'll face whatever comes next together. You're strong, and we're all in this with you."
"I… I guess it's just a lot to take in," she admitted, wiping away a few more stray tears. "I wasn't expecting this."
"None of us were," Felix said, a small smile breaking through his breaking through his worry. "But we'll make it work. We're a family, right?"
"Right," Y/N replied, feeling a flicker of hope. "I just need some time to process it all.”
"Take all the time you need jagi," Hyunjin reassured her.

“Eomoni!”
“Y/N, darling, come in!”
Minho’s mom wraps her arms around your shoulders, pulling you inside with a big smile on her face. She waves you off as you slip out of your shoes and into a pair of bright pink Hello Kitty slippers Minho bought for you as a joke years ago, forcefully prying the bag of goodies you bought on your way here from your fingers.
“I hope I’m not intruding—?”
“Hush!” Mrs. Lee chides with a smile, “Stop worrying so much.” Her hand hovers by the small of your back, guiding you up the last step into the living room.
“Is Minho here? He said he was coming home today…”
“Yes, he’s here. He’s in his room.” Minho’s mom sets the plastic bag on the counter, and you naturally go to help her unpack what you bought, shelving things like you live here.
“I—hello, abeonim.” You bow at Mr. Lee, closing your eyes contentedly when he comes around the counter to give you a fatherly side-hug that squishes you against him.
“What are you doing here?” he asks, ruffling your hair as he lets you go in favor of helping his wife unpack.
You shrug, walking around to the other side of the counter. “Thought I’d pop in to say hi. I missed the kittens very much.”
Mr. Lee laughs, shaking his head at you. “Of course, the kittens.” He wiggles his eyebrows teasingly.
You can’t help the grin tugging at your mouth, clearing your throat to speak. “Speaking of, where are the babies? I haven’t seen any of them since I got here.”
“Last time I checked they were all with Minho in his room,” his mom says, putting away the bottle of red wine you bought for dinner later tonight.
“Great! I can kill two birds with one stone.” You wiggle your eyebrows.
She snickers at you, shooing you away with a fond smile. “Go say hi and then come sit with us—we found a documentary we thought you’d like.”
“Okay, eomoni.” You smile at her and hope your pure love and adoration for her isn’t written too clearly on your face, afraid she might tease you. You walk with light steps in the direction of Minho’s room, unable to wipe the smile off your face.
“Minho-ssi,” you sing-song, rounding the corner with a light and airy step-a-step you’re pretty sure you saw somewhere in Thunderous’s choreography.
Mreow?
“Doong-Doong-ah?” Your lips jut out in a surprised pout, looking down at the talkative orange tabby with a tiny furrow in your brow. Following the lump of white sheets behind him, you finally make out Minho’s all-black clad body hidden under all the fluff.
You smile.
“Is hyunga sleeping?” you whisper, walking over on the tips of your toes before crouching in front of Doongie, scratching behind his ears with a soft smile. He mrews, his eyes fluttering closed as he leans his head into your hand. To your right, Dori hugs what you think is a bottle of lotion between his white socked-paws, his tail flicking with each nibble he delivers to the hard plastic.
You let your hand wander over Dori’s side and chide him with a half-hearted hiss when he clamps his teeth around your knuckles, shaking it off with a smile when he pauses a second before giving your hand a couple of licks.
You give his side one last pat before walking around Minho’s feet, only noticing Soonie as he’s cuddling into your boyfriend’s duveted stomach.
You can’t stop the smile tugging at your lips, crouching next to the sleeping cats to card your fingers through Soonie’s fur, feeling a familiar sense of pride swell in your chest at his appreciative purr.
And then you’re looking up at Lee Minho, your body tingling all over at the serenity on your sleeping beauty’s face, unable to help but reach out and let your hand run over his hair; a little frizzy at the ends but otherwise straight; he must not have been sleeping for very long.
You drag your hand over Minho’s head with an inexplicable softness constricting your throat, wishing you could lean down and kiss him without running the risk of waking him up.
You jump a little when Minho lets out an adorable grunt as he slowly pries his eyes open.
“Jagi?” he mumbles.
“Did I wake you?” you coo, combing your fingers through his fringe.
“Mmm.”
You chuckle, letting the pads of your fingers brush over his forehead, over his eyelids. “Ever the truthman.”
“Truthman?” he grumbles, bringing a hand up to loosely hold your wrist between his fingers.
“When did you get home?” You let your hand wander over his cheek.
“A few hours ago…”
“From practice?”
He guides the palm of your hand against his lips. “Mmm...”
He kisses your hand, turning onto his back (much to Soonie’s dismay) and throwing the duvet around his hips before tugging on your arm with surprising strength.
You yelp, practically falling on top of him. He lets out a back-of-the-throat kind of giggle that sends tingles down your arms, using his hands on your hips to shift you higher up his abdomen.
Minho lets out a satisfied hum-sigh against the top of your head, his fingers massaging the skin at your waist before hooking his fingers under the waistband of your trousers, letting the elastic keep his hands in place.
“Baby,” you say, softly—knowing his parents are waiting for you downstairs but feeling so tempted to sink into his warmth and stay there until the end of days.
“No,” he huffs, nuzzling your temple. “Lay with me for a bit.”
You can’t help but laugh, subtly shaking your head. Of course he knows. “Okay, but only for a minute. Your mom invited me downstairs to watch a—“
“Shh, jagi, I’m trying to sleep.”
———
“Y/N, sweetheart, we’re—“
Mrs. Lee stops in her tracks, right outside Minho’s room. The sight she comes across brings an immediate smile to her face, and she can’t help but take her phone out and snap a picture to give to her son later:
Minho, his arms wrapped around you as you lay on top of him, legs intertwined. And surrounding you, Soonie, Doongie and Dori; the youngest of the trio laying by his hyung’s head. Doongie lays by your feet, and Soonie sleeps just off to the side, his legs stretched out in front of him.
As she sits back down with her husband, Mrs. Lee can’t help but think: she can’t wait for the day Minho asks for her mother’s ring.

Hi would u be able to do a Theo not x fem reader where they are enemies and the reader is a cat animagus and he finds us somewhere in our cat form and takes us with him and is like cuddling the cat and everyone knows it’s us and finds it funny
cat and mouse
A/N: thinking about this DEEPLY giggling and kicking my feet WITH DETERMINATION. (gif creds: @thickdickgrayson)
Pairings: Theodore Nott x Fem!Animagus!Reader
Summary: Theo finds a stray cat in the library. Turns out that stray cat is his sworn enemy.
Warnings: fluff, enemies to lovers, cat animagus, cursing, banter, pet names (kitten, micina, kittycat)
Meow?
Theo whips his head around at the noise. And there he sees a cat sat poised and proper at the center of the potions aisle of the library. Why is there a cat sat at the center of the potions aisle of the library. The cat tilts its head.
“Shh... We’re in a library,” he huffs, flipping through the first few pages of a book with a deep blue cover. He turns on his heel and heads for the small desk pushed up against the wall. The cat slinks after him, leaping from the floor to the chair to the desk.
“Pest,” Theo says. “You know, if you’re choosing to sit there, you’ll have to share with my books.”
The cat sits.
“Have it your way.”
Theo tries not to pay any more mind to the stray as he studies the reactivity of unicorn blood. Luckily, the cat doesn’t move much so it’s not very hard for him to stay focused. It only sinks into itself as it settles, lying on the table. He rolls his eyes and gives in to the cat’s wicked tactics, drawing the tips of his fingers between the little thing’s ears. It begins to purr.
“You’re not so bad. In fact, I’ve had much worse study partners. I’d take you over Matty any day.”
Deciding the cat has foiled his every attempt at retaining information, Theo packs up, reshelves the book, and heads for the library doors.
Meow.
“No, little pest, I can’t take you with me. I’ve already got enough vermin to take care of.”
But her big, dumb eyes twinkle up at him and suddenly he can’t refuse.
“Oh, whatever,” as he holds the door open for her to happily trot through.
She follows him coyly into the great hall, hopping up into the space he usually occupies at mealtime. He stares incredulously at the cat who responds with a jeer: meow. So that’s how it’s going to be. Give an inch and these damn things take a mile.
Pansy leans into Mattheo’s side, whispering, “Isn’t that—?”
“Yes, dear Pansy. Yes, it is,” he chuckles while bringing his cup to his lips. Theo grumbles, trying his best to shoo his new pet out of his spot before finally, begrudgingly, opting to share. What he doesn’t expect is when she curls into his lap after he sits beside her.
He sighs then, scratching its back and fixing himself a plate. He’s a little puzzled as to why the seat directly across from him is vacant, though. That’s usually where you taunt him from every meal. But lately, you’ve been absent.
“Have either of you seen—”
“Nope!” Pansy chuffs through a grin, “not since the last time you asked. Anyway, aren’t you two sworn to be mortal enemies or something?”
Mattheo clears his throat, eyes flicking from the cat in Theo’s lap to its adoring new owner. “Pansy’s right, Theo. You mention her an awful lot for someone who claims to hate her with the fire of a million suns,” he teases, suddenly turning his attention and cocking a brow, “Ohhh, I get it; you love her.”
“No,” Theo huffs petulantly, “She’s my potions partner, and I seem to be doing all the work on our group project.”
“Oh,” Matty rolls his eyes, “your potions partner. Right.”
“Shut up.”
Theo spends the rest of the night up in the dormitories. His cat friend had refused to climb the stairs, and Theo found the kindness in his heart to carry her up the stairs. He has to admit he melted a little when she started purring against his chest halfway to the door.
She finds herself a comfortable spot on his bed, settling contentedly in a ball beside his books and papers.
“Some study partner you are,” he says. He can’t help but amuse her, occasionally taking study breaks to scratch her chin and wonder how long she’d stick around for.
Except, in the morning, he’s a little confused to find a human girl in his bed. In fact, she’s the one human girl he’s known to dislike more than any other. What kind of cruel trick is this. Had Matty really put all that effort into sneaking his enemy into his bed. Matty doesn’t even show up for class half the time.
You stir and stretch your arms above your head, eyes flicking open to an unfamiliar setting. This surely isn’t the girl’s dormitory. So where are you.
“You?” a voice accuses from just above you. Theo sits up, and you startle, teetering off the edge of the bed with a thud.
“Fuck,” you huff, scrambling to your feet and straightening your robes with a frightened look on your face. “Right. I’ll see you… around!”
You’re out the door before he can call after you. Would he even call after you? You’re not sure, but you’re also not going to stick around and find out.
Theo’s heart races in his chest. He’s about to call after you, but he’s too flustered to get the words out so he hurls himself backward on the bed with a sigh.
…
A week trudges by without a sign of you. Honestly, he’s more worried you haven’t been attending meals. And he no longer sees you on weekend group outings. He almost misses your targetted quips. And your laugh. Even if it was at him.
He knows you’re alive, though. A packet had slipped underneath the door as he was getting ready for bed one night. The worksheet had both your names on it; it detailed the instructions to the potions assignment. In your handwriting. But it was worthless without you here to help him in person. He thinks himself crazy, catching glimpses of cat tails around corners or paws pouncing between tree branches.
But he thinks, he can’t be crazy staring at the cat perched still beneath one of the benches in the quad. So he sits and bends down to nudge your cat cheek with the pad of his finger.
“Here, kitty kitty,” he hums. Your eyes blink open, staring at him blankly before pacing out from under the bench and hopping up next to him with a determined stretch. He doesn’t believe his eyes when the docile cat he’s been hunting for the last week transforms into you.
You shrug, not daring to look in his eyes for fear of admitting defeat. “You found me.”
“I’ve missed you, micina,” he teases. Though, maybe there’s a grain of truth in his taunt. But you only roll your eyes.
“Don’t be weird, Nott.”
He scoffs. “Okay, you don’t like me, but you laid on my lap, cuddle with me, spent hours just hanging around me… It’s very confusing.”
“Yeah. So?” You cross your arms over your chest.
“Yeah. So… why?”
You sigh, “just because I think you’re obnoxious doesn’t mean… I don’t like you—”
“Oh, no?”
“Shh, I’m trying to explain!” But it’s hard when you’re both on the verge of laughing at your shared hypocrisy. “We’re… I mean I didn’t think you liked me either! What’s your excuse?”
“You’re changing the subject, kittycat.”
You groan, now turning to face him with all the determination of a militia.
“We’re meant to be rivals, you know. We’re the same blood status, the same house, we have the same damned friend group, and no matter how hard I try, you still manage to get slightly higher marks than me!”
“I know,” he teases.
“So… I wanted to see what you were doing differently.”
“So you slept in my bed?”
“I had a change of plans!” you squeak, shrugging when he chuckles under his breath.
“Which was?”
“Well…” You shake your head, realzing it sounds a little silly under his scrutiny like this. “Maybe if I distracted you, you’d do poorly on your OWLs.”
He snickers.
“But we got the same score so…” you groan, “we cuddled for nothing.” He sets his hand gently on your knee, and for once, you can’t tell if he’s messing with you or not.
“Nothing? Really?”
He leans in closer, and now you’re sure he’s trying to distract you. You press your hand to his chest and he watches your eyes widen with amusement.
“No! No, it’s your turn. I’d like you to hear your reason since you’ve already proven yourself to be better than me and any reason you give is going to be a load of bull—”
“You talk too much.” He says it with a smug expression, looking down on you while leaning back into his palms.
“That’s not”—you squint at him, just knowing he’s taking the piss—“I barely talk to you at all. In fact, I only do so when I’m forced!”
“No, you misunderstand me,” he hums, expression softening as his voice lowers, suddenly becoming a much more private conversation, “You talk too much to everyone but me.”
Your jaw goes slack, and he smiles a little, knowing the way both of your hearts race when you look in his eyes.
“Oh.”
“Yes, oh,” he teases, nudging your arm and shifting closer, “Come on, micina mia, you didn’t really think I hated you. It’s all talk. I mean, you can be annoyingly pretty at times, and I hate it when you ignore me, but I could never hate you. Not now that I know your little secret… kitten.”
He’s surprised when you laugh, grabbing his arm to steady yourself.
“Theo, I think everyone knows my little secret but you,” you say, grinning at him in pure delight at his disbelief.
“You’re joking!”
“No!”
“Those bastards,” he huffs, thinking of Matty and Pansy whispering and giggling in the great hall. You stand and brush off your robe, and he follows hurriedly, hovering next to you.
“More cuddling?” he teases, and you turn to him with a smile.
“Got a thing for cats, Nott?”
“No, no,”—He matches your grin and leans in to gently peck your cheek—“Just a thing for you.”

Hello hello!! Was wondering if you’d be interested in writing a fic where r loves to cuddle and play around w Sirius in his animagus form, but perhaps he gets a bit too excited and scratches or shoves her too hard? Thought this could turn out super cute 🤭 thank you!
This was so fun, thanks for requesting lovely! I did it with whimsical reader, hope that's okay <3
Sirius Black x whimsical!reader ♡ 1.2k words
When you get home, your dog is waiting for you on the porch.
“Hi, puppy!” Your delight is obvious in your voice, and he grins at you (can dogs grin? You’re not sure, but this one does) as he bounds down the couple of steps to meet you halfway.
Your fingers find the spot between his shoulders automatically. His tail starts wagging, snout resting against your forearm almost affectionately. For the past few days, you’ve come home to find this strange dog by your house, seemingly awaiting your arrival, with no collar or caretakers in sight. You’d be worried for him if he didn’t seem so well cared for. His black coat is always shiny and clean, and he doesn’t look underfed like you might expect a stray to be. For only having known each other a few days, you’ve become fast friends.
“Puppy puppy puppy,” you murmur contentedly, using both hands to scratch behind his ears and all down his back. The dog reacts with a pleased sort of complacence, as though this is the sort of treatment he knows he deserves. It reminds you of something you can’t place. “How was your day? Are you hungry at all?”
Hungry must be a word he knows, because the dog perks up, licking your hand eagerly.
You beam at him. “Yeah? I have some chicken in the fridge, would you like that?”
This time, he gives a short bark.
“Okay, let’s go.” You walk towards the door, patting your thigh for him to follow. “Gosh, you’re just the handsomest boy I’ve ever met. Don’t tell my boyfriend I said that, though. Maybe don’t tell him I’m letting you inside either.” Sirius is a bit odd about having animals in your home; that one time you brought in a snake you found in your garden, his face had gone so white you worried he was going to fall over and hurt himself.
Your new friend follows you inside and into the kitchen without so much as glancing around, like in your home is somewhere he’s supposed to be. If you get any more attached to him, that might be a case you have to make to Sirius at some point. A dog this lovely just should not be forced to stay outdoors when he’s so comfortable in here. He’s clearly a kindred spirit.
“All right.” You fish out a skinny piece of chicken from last night’s leftovers, holding it out to him. You plan to lower it close to his mouth, but the dog jumps up, snatching it from your fingers with a click of his teeth. “Oh!” you startle. “Um, good boy.”
He gives you another one of his signature canine grins, wagging his tail for more. You give him a few more pieces before you cut him off, but the dog seems just as happy being pet, soaking up your praises and rolling over to encourage you to rub his belly.
“Oh, you’re so sweet, you’re my handsomest boy, aren’t you?” you coo as his back leg kicks excitedly. “Are you the best boy in the whole world, my sweet baby? Okay, fine, one more bite of chicken.”
You stand up to retrieve it, and the dog rolls over, jumping up to meet you. You squeal as he licks your face, but then his paw slips, short claw marking a harsh line down your collar and chest. He whimpers softly when you flinch, dropping back to the ground remorsefully.
“Sorry.” You’re not sure what you’re apologizing for, but you extend the piece of chicken as a peace offering.
The dog tucks his tail between his legs.
“It’s okay.” You crouch in front of him, still holding out the chicken. “It was an accident. It didn’t even hurt.”
You could swear that was apology in the dog’s big black eyes as he takes a step toward you. He takes the chicken gently between his teeth, munching on that before licking your hand.
You smile at him, but when you reach for his head to scratch his ears, he turns and trots out of the room.
“Hey!” You stand up, watching as he goes right out the open front door, disappearing from sight. You give a weak whistle. “Come here, puppy, it’s okay!”
The dog doesn’t come back. You sigh, confused and a tad hurt, but put the chicken away and close the fridge. You shut the front door, too, but no sooner do you do that than you hear a key in the lock, and then your boyfriend is pushing it back open.
“Hi!” Your mood is immediately righted, a light sort of contentedness inflating in your chest.
“Hey, sweetness.” Sirius runs a hand through his hair, oddly ruffled from a wind you must not have noticed outside. He starts for you, but then his eyes drop to your chest. “What happened there?”
“Oh, it’s nothing.” You wave a hand, but Sirius’ eyes are sad as he comes closer. The scratch is shallow, not even really bleeding, but from the delicate way he touches your shoulder you’d think you’d been stabbed through with a broadsword. “I was playing with a dog—outside, playing with him—and he jumped on me.”
Your boyfriend’s eyes flicker up to yours at the fib, something that could be amusement or knowing or both in them, but you tell yourself it couldn’t be either. Then it passes, and his mouth purses sorrily. “Oh, no,” he says, thumb sweeping over your shoulder sympathetically. “Does it hurt?”
“Not really. It just stings, a little.”
He pouts. “We should probably clean it so it doesn’t get infected. That dog really got you, huh?”
“I think he felt bad afterward,” you say, letting him pull you towards the bathroom. “It was an accident, he just got excited.”
Sirius nods ardently. “Can hardly blame him for that. Who wouldn’t get a little overexcited, with the world’s prettiest girl paying them attention?”
You smile at him, and he slides a hand along your jaw, kissing you. “Still can’t believe the fucker hurt you, though.”
“Oh, don’t be mean. He’s really a very good dog.”
“I’m not doubting that, babe. Even good dogs can slip up sometimes.”
“Yeah?” You tilt your head at him as he smears ointment on your scratch. “I didn’t think you were a dog person.”
Sirius gives a sharp bark of laughter that turns into a cough. “No?”
“Not really, no.”
“Well, I am.”
“Hm.” You think on this, pondering how you might convince him to let your new friend stay with you (if that happens, you’ll have to actually give the dog a name) while he stretches a thin bandage over your scratch. In your experience, if you ask really very nicely, Sirius tends to be amenable to most things you want.
“There.” He presses a gentle kiss over the top edge of the bandage. “Like it never happened.”
You smile and reach for him, letting a piece of silken hair run through your fingers. “Thanks for patching me up, Siri.”
He grins. “Course, lovely girl. Anything else you’d like to call me?”
You tilt your head, feeling your brows furrow bemusedly. “Honey?”
Sirius frowns. He turns and goes from the room, muttering something that sounds like, “...called me nicer things when I was a dog.”
“What?” you call after him.
“Nothing, sweetness!”

Can't Sleep?
Prompt: Mihawk, Sanji, Nami, Luffy, Zoro, and Kuro, and how they handle a gn reader who has insomnia.
CW: Strangulation.
Mihawk:
Oh no. He is not doing this again.
He kept his peace the last time you had a restless night because he believed you when you said there was nothing to be done.
What followed was two. hours. of torture.
Up and down, tossing and turning, it took you forever to get to sleep.
Tonight, he's taking action.
"Are you going to the washroom?" he asks when you start to rise from the bed after five minutes of tossing.
When you reply that you thought maybe something to eat might help, he grabs you around the waist and yanks you back to bed.
He whispers sweet nothings in your ear until you fall asleep.
"You are calm, the night is quiet, the moon hangs overhead to accentuate your glow..."
It takes considerably less time his way.
Sanji:
Name it, it's yours.
Lullaby? He's not a great singer, but he'll do it.
Hot chocolate? Warm milk? Midnight snack? Done.
"Of course, love. Anything for you."
Sanji also can't sleep because you toss and turn too much, but he'll never say that part out loud.
You're already miserable, and if he has to suffer a little for you then so be it.
Oddly enough, it's the cigarettes that eventually lull you to sleep.
He steps outside for a moment to smoke, and hearing his deep inhale and long, slow exhale, you start to copy him...
When he comes back from his smoke, you're sound asleep.
Nami:
Has a whole bag of tricks up her sleeve.
Warm cloth to make your eyes heavy, suggests blinking rapidly for the same reason, drops the temperature in the cabin to emulate sleep temperature, tells you to tense and relax...
Eventually just straight-up hypnotizes you.
"Just focus on your breath as it goes in...and out. In... and out."
Reassurances that you're safe, telling you to imagine a forest with a crystal clear stream, it's all very cliche.
Even though you don't think it'll work you do everything she tells you.
And then it's morning.
You ask her to do it again the next night.
Luffy:
Food solves all problems. Even this one.
Enter warm milk.
Luffy reads you a story and sings a song, and you eventually realize that his knowledge of sleep is limited to stories of nap time at daycare.
It does not work, but his care is touching.
You jokingly say that maybe one of those thick mats you sleep on in daycare would help.
The home apparently goes over his head because the next week two of the mats are there.
(You're a little too big for just one nowadays, seeing as you're not five anymore.)
Zoro:
Deceptively useless.
You'd think with all the sleep he gets he'd be able to help someone get to sleep.
Turns out he doesn't have a clue; insomnia is not in this man's dictionary.
"Just go to sleep. It's not hard, you're fighting your body's natural drive to sleep, so just stop fighting it."
Eventually gives up and makes a show of cuddling you.
It fixes nothing, and neither of you is happy about this.
Insists that his not kicking you out of the room so he can get some sleep displays incredible restraint on his part.
You disagree. Loudly.
Kuro:
Not to worry! Kuro has a quick fix to help you get to sleep right away.
Strangulation.
"Please do stop struggling, I'm not going to kill you, obviously."
Has no patience for your insomnia and wants to get his own sleep.
Will not be trying to entice you to sleep with the carrot, it's straight to the stick with him.
It works, sort of.
You wake a few minutes later with a headache, but Kuro's already asleep with you pulled against his chest and purring contentedly.
It's literal; his snores rumble deep in his chest when he sleeps, and it does in fact sound like purring.
Funnily enough, the purring is what does it for you.
Next time you can't sleep, you Lady very still and let his purring soothe you to sleep.
When Kuro catches on, he gets marginally nicer about how he treats you when you're struggling with a bout of insomnia.
#mihawk x reader#opla imagine#nami x reader#zoro x reader#kuro x reader#sanji x reader#luffy x reader#I stg that gif is Kuro's reaction to the words “I can't sleep”#It's also 'photos taken seconds before disaster'

Cuddles and Cozy Moments-Jack hughes
Jack hughes x reader
I’m clearly out my drafts right now if anyone’s curious 😭
Masterlist
It was a crisp, chilly morning in New Jersey, the kind of winter day that made you want to stay in bed, wrapped up in blankets, and never leave the warmth of home. The soft hum of the heater in the background created the perfect ambiance as snowflakes drifted gently outside the windows of the Hughes family home. Inside, the living room and kitchen were filled with the soft morning light, the golden hue casting a peaceful glow across the room. But it was in the bedroom, where the real warmth and love resided.
Jack Hughes, his wife Y/N, and their little boy, Sam, were all curled up in their cozy bed. Jack had just finished his morning routine— a quick workout and a shower— but now, he was more than happy to spend some extra time with his family, especially on a day like this, when there were no games or practices to rush to. He slid into bed next to Y/N, who was already sitting up against the pillows, holding a now-quiet Sam in her arms as he cuddled into her chest. Sam, their energetic three-year-old, had been full of laughter and excitement this morning, but the peaceful atmosphere of the room was lulling him into a relaxed state.
“Daddy’s home,” Jack whispered, a soft smile tugging at his lips as he leaned over and kissed the top of Sam’s head.
Sam grinned up at him, his sleepy eyes still fluttering as he tried to keep them open. “Hi, Daddy!” he mumbled, his voice still thick with sleep.
Y/N laughed softly, running a hand through Sam’s messy hair. “He’s been asking for you ever since he woke up,” she said, her voice full of warmth. “He’s a little too excited, though, huh?”
Jack chuckled, gently leaning over to scoop Sam into his arms. Sam let out a tiny squeal of joy as he was lifted, his little arms wrapping around Jack’s neck.
“Morning, little man,” Jack said, pressing a soft kiss to his son’s forehead. Sam responded by nestling his head into Jack’s chest, his tiny hands tugging at the collar of Jack’s shirt.
“Want to cuddle with us, Daddy?” Sam asked in the sweetest voice, his sleepy tone making Y/N’s heart melt.
“Of course,” Jack replied, settling down next to Y/N in the bed. He wrapped his arms around both of them, pulling them close so that Sam was tucked between his parents. The three of them snuggled together, the warmth of their little family enveloping them like a soft cocoon.
Y/N rested her head against Jack’s chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. She reached over to gently tuck Sam into her side, her fingers running through his soft hair. Sam, still a little drowsy, sighed contentedly as he closed his eyes, the peaceful environment making him feel safe and loved.
For a few minutes, there was nothing but the sound of their breathing and the soft rustling of the blankets. The morning seemed to stretch on forever in that perfect silence, a rare moment when the world outside didn’t matter. The hustle and bustle of daily life—Jack’s busy schedule, the training, the games, the constant moving—had been put on hold, and all that mattered was this little family moment.
Jack let out a deep, content sigh, pressing a kiss to Y/N’s forehead. “I could stay like this forever,” he murmured, his voice soft and full of affection.
Y/N smiled, her heart swelling with love. “Me too,” she whispered back. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
They spent the next hour like that—just cuddling together, talking softly, and laughing as they played little games with Sam. Sam would squirm and giggle as Jack gave him “silly” tickles, making him laugh so hard that his little cheeks turned rosy.
At one point, Sam asked for a story. Y/N picked up a book that had been sitting on the bedside table, one of Sam’s favorites. She opened it to the first page, beginning to read in her soft, soothing voice. Jack listened, his chin resting on the top of Y/N’s head as he gently caressed her arm. He loved moments like these—quiet, calm, and full of love. There was no place he’d rather be than right here with his family.
The story was full of colorful pictures, and as Y/N read each page, she made the characters’ voices come alive. Sam was rapt with attention, his little body pressed up against his mom’s side, eyes wide and full of wonder. Every now and then, he would ask a question about the story, like why the rabbit in the book was wearing shoes or why the bear was so big. Jack would answer with a grin, his voice light and teasing as he joked about the bear being “the strongest bear in the world.”
After a while, Sam started to doze off, his eyelids growing heavier by the minute. He shifted in Jack’s arms, curling up even closer to him as his tiny body relaxed into the warmth of his dad’s embrace. Y/N smiled softly, brushing a few strands of hair out of Sam’s face as she closed the book, careful not to disturb him.
“I think he’s out,” she whispered, glancing up at Jack with a look of quiet contentment. “He’s been so full of energy lately, I think this moment was just what he needed.”
Jack smiled, his heart full. “He’s our little bundle of energy, that’s for sure,” he said, pressing a soft kiss to the top of Sam’s head. “But moments like this make everything worth it.”
Y/N nodded, her eyes soft and full of love as she gazed down at their son. “You’re right. It’s these little moments that matter the most. No matter how busy we get, we always have this.”
They lay there together, the room peaceful and warm as the snow continued to fall outside. Jack gently rocked Sam, letting the steady rhythm of his movements lull him into a deeper sleep. Y/N rested her head on Jack’s shoulder, her hand still gently stroking Sam’s back. The three of them, nestled together in the warmth of their home, were the picture of happiness.
“Hey, Jack?” Y/N whispered after a while, her voice barely audible.
“Hmm?” Jack responded, his eyes half-closed as he held them both close.
“I love our little family,” she said, her voice full of emotion. “I love our life together.”
Jack smiled, kissing the top of her head. “Me too. I wouldn’t change a thing.”
And in that moment, with Sam asleep in their arms and the love between them stronger than ever, they both knew that this was all they needed—each other, their little boy, and the quiet moments that made life so precious.

one too many
Liam Mairi x reader you have one too many on a night out, but Liam is there to take care of you. this is a part 2 to the spider, but can be read as a standalone. words: 1.0k 🏷: no book spoilers, just fluff, I may be sober but I can still write about drinking and how much it sucks, descriptions of being drunk, she/her "girl" reader, one very minor instance of a guy at the bar being creepy but again -- Liam to the rescue. that's all I got for tags. it's nap time now, byee (yes, there will be a part three to this. it's already in motion.)
You’re definitely starting to regret going out tonight. You have no idea where your friends are, if they’re still here or not, and you really don’t feel good. Weaving through the crowd, you finally spot a friendly face. “Hi, Liam.”
“Hi yourself,” he greets, putting an arm around your shoulders and pulling you a bit closer to keep you out of the way of the other patrons, and to be able to hear you over the lively conversations and music filling the tavern.
You smile, cuddling into his side contentedly. “Missed you.”
You’ve had a soft spot for the boy for a while now. You don’t spend much time together, being in separate squads, but he’s your across-the-hall neighbor in the dorms — you see him a few times every day, coming to and from your room between classes.
He’s always nice to you, offering you soft smiles and the occasional kind word or small talk, and the other week, when you’d knocked on his door in a mild panic and asked — begged — him to evict a spider from your room, he’d done it without hesitation, and without judgment.
“Are you feeling okay?” He asks gently.
“Head’s a little fuzzy,” you answer with a frown, “but I don’t think I had that much.”
You only remember having one drink, that you’d been sipping on steadily through the night but never finished. You shouldn’t feel this intoxicated — the room is spinning, blurring at the edges, and you feel unsteady on your feet, hence the way you’re rather un-subtly clinging to him.
“There you are,” some guy he doesn’t recognize calls, “thought I lost ya. You ready to go?”
“Who’s your new friend?” Liam asks, holding you a little closer and shifting his body to place himself between you and this new guy, eyeing him with apprehension.
“Oh, this is…” you blink, struggling to recall the other boy’s name. Everything between him walking up to you and the present moment seems a little hazy and unclear.
Liam makes his decision; you’ve had one too many, and you clearly aren’t there enough to agree to go home with a stranger, especially not this guy, who just looks like bad news. “She’s not leaving with you, if that’s what you’re after,” he states flatly, not leaving any room for argument.
The boy scowls, likely thinking that Liam is your boyfriend, and realizing he’s wasted his time flirting with you. He leaves, presumably to find some other girl to sweet-talk into his bed.
“Let’s get you back to the school,” Liam coaxes.
You agree quietly, letting him guide you out the door and down the street, his arm still around your shoulders to keep you upright. You’re glad you chose sensible shoes for the night — it’s already hard enough to walk in your current state.
You rub at the exposed skin of your arms in an attempt to warm yourself up — you can’t remember if you had brought your jacket with you and forgotten it in the tavern, or if you’d left it in your room.
Ever-observant, Liam shrugs off his own jacket and helps you get your arms through the sleeves. You burrow into the soft fleece-lined leather, warm from his body heat and nicely oversized, the cuffs extending past your knuckles.
“Thank you, Li,” you mumble, taking hold of his arm. “I really didn’t want to go home with that guy.”
“Of course, sweetheart. I just want to make sure you’re safe.”
You continue to tell him how you feel. “You’re such a good guy, you know. Always looking out for everyone. S’ why I like you so much. Well, that ‘n your eyes.”
“My eyes?” he asks casually, as if you hadn’t just drunkenly confessed to having a crush on him.
You hum in affirmation. “They’re really pretty. Like the ocean. Reminds me of home.”
You cover a yawn with a sleeved hand, exhausted, but keep walking alongside him. The alcohol may have lowered your inhibitions, but he still can’t help but feel a little squeeze of pride that you trust him to do the right thing, to take care of you in your vulnerable state.
You don’t protest, or seem to notice at all, that he’s headed in the opposite direction of the dorms — to the healers’ quadrant, instead.
You continue holding onto him as he leads you into the infirmary and explains to one of the healers what’s going on.
After a quick glance at you and a flip through your patient file, she identifies the problem: “We gave her a medication last week that shouldn’t be mixed with alcohol — it makes one glass feel like five. She’ll be fine in the morning, just really hungover, but she can’t go out drinking again for a while yet. Make sure she gets some water, and plenty of sleep.”
Liam nods, thanking her.
“She’s lucky to have such a good boyfriend to take care of her.”
Liam doesn’t correct her, just offers her a smile and another thank you before he leads you back across the campus to your room.
Thankfully you’re cognizant enough to unlock the door yourself, and you move to sit on your bed as soon as it’s in your sight.
He uncaps your water bottle, finding it half-full. “You should have some water,” he coaxes, extending it to you.
You comply, emptying it slowly.
He certainly isn’t going to change your clothes for you, and you look too exhausted and unsteady to do it yourself, so he settles for tugging off your boots and setting them next to the pile of shoes by the door. You can sleep in your outside clothes for the night and just wash your sheets tomorrow.
He picks your stuffed dragon up off of the desk, handing it to you — you hum happily, hugging it to your chest as you lay down. “You gonna be okay?” He asks softly.
Another hum in affirmation as your eyes start to close.
“Alright. Blythe can have Deigh wake me up if you need me, okay?”
“Mmkay,” you murmur. “Thank you, Li.”
He lays a featherlight kiss on your forehead, draping a blanket over you. “Get some sleep, pretty girl. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Runaway Cat and Runaway Heart
Seth Lowell x Reader
Tags: sfw, fluff, mutual pining, strangers to friends to lovers, a little bit of smooching at the end. gender-neutral reader and no use of (y/n). 6.3k words
this catboy has me in a chokehold rn
Inhale. Hold. Exhale.
Inhale. Hold. Exhale.
You tried to steady your breathing, fighting against the panic rising in your chest. You could feel tears gathering in the corners of your eyes, and you furiously blinked them away.
Inhale. Hold. Exhale.
Inhale. Hold. Exhale.
You needed to stay calm if you were going to resolve this situation.
It had started with a harmless mistake. You hadn’t given it a second thought when you’d left your front door open while retrieving a package. You’d stepped outside for mere seconds, and your cat had always been so well-behaved that it never even occurred to you that she would try to run away.
Now here you were, pacing frantically up and down the sidewalks of Lumina Square, futilely reassuring yourself that your precious furry baby was okay and that you’d find her safe and sound. You spared a glance at the sprawling maze of roads and crosswalks zig-zagging through the city center, feeling the rush of air against your skin as cars zipped past endlessly, and the tears threatened to spill over your cheeks again as you imagined the worst-case scenario.
You were sure you looked like a lunatic to passersby, wandering about aimlessly and calling out your cat’s name in a frenzied tone. With each passing minute, you could feel your hope slipping further and further away.
You rounded a corner, slumped over and defeated from your effortless search, when you spotted a Public Security officer. He was a feline Thiren, with a long, fluffy tail and ears poking out of his mop of white hair.
As you moved closer, you realized the officer was holding something in his arms. Something fluffy with a long tail and pointed ears not unlike his own. Your heart started beating wildly in your chest as you felt your optimism return, and you couldn’t help yourself as you started almost running towards the PubSec officer. You recognized those furry features as belonging to your beloved cat.
The officer’s ears twitched as you ran up to him and he turned to face you as you approached, giving a clear view of your cat peacefully snuggled up in his arms like a baby. It seems he quickly put two and two together, and gave you an eager grin.
“Hello! Is this your cat, then?”
You could have thrown yourself at this man’s feet, you were so grateful to him. You tried to steady your breathing, giving him an appreciative look.
“Yes, sir, thank you so much! I- I have no idea why she ran away. I swear she isn’t usually like this!”
The officer just chuckled, his bright smile only widening further.
“Don’t worry about it! I'm just glad this sweet little gal has such a lovely owner. I was worried she might be a stray.”
You felt your face heating up at his words. If it was anyone else, you might have felt uncomfortable with a stranger saying something that could be so easily interpreted as flirting, but he seemed so genuine and wholesome, you couldn’t even bring yourself to feel upset.
You held out your arms to take your cat back, and the officer stepped closer to hand her off. Your cat, however, seemed to have different ideas.
Instead of being happy to see you, your cat cuddled closer up against the Thiren, purring contentedly. You huffed before giving the officer an apologetic smile, reaching to try to grab your cat from him again. As you gently lifted her, your cat squirmed in your grasp, digging her claws into the officer’s uniform and refusing to let go.
That little traitor!
The officer laughed at the predicament, giving your cat a scratch behind the ear. Meanwhile, the heated flush of embarrassment creeped further up the back of your neck.
“I'm so sorry about this. I’m sure you have much more important things you could be doing right now, and I’m wasting your time-”
The officer cut you off with a vigorous shake of his head, his ears flopping cutely with the motion.
“Not at all! As a Public Security officer, it is my duty to help the citizens of New Eridu, no matter what! Making sure you get your cat back is as important as anything else, and I’d be willing to wait here all day if that’s what it took!”
You were taken aback by how sincere this guy was, and you felt your heart flutter at his kind words.
Woah, slow down now.
This guy was clearly passionate about his job, and he probably would have said the same thing to anyone else, you told yourself.
“Thank you, sir. That’s very nice of you to say.”
He gave you a beaming grin in response, and you wondered if his cheeks hurt from smiling so much.
It took several more minutes of coaxing and embarrassed apologies from you before your cat finally relented to being handed over. You tucked her close to you in a firm but gentle hold so she couldn’t run away again (or jump back into the officer’s arms again, traitor).
You sounded like a broken record, but you thanked and apologized to the officer once more.
“Thank you again so much for finding my cat. I’m sorry for any trouble this caused.”
“It’s no problem at all! I’m glad I could help! And I guess I should apologize as well. Cats just really seem to like me for some reason, so I’m sure that’s why your little gal was being a bit fussy.”
You almost laughed out loud at his words. It didn’t seem to occur to him that being a Cat-Thiren might have something to do with his cat magnetism, but you found his obliviousness to be adorably endearing.
“You don’t have to apologize. That certainly doesn’t sound like the worst problem to have.”
He rubbed the back of his neck, giving you a bashful grin.
“Yeah, I guess not!”
His tail was swishing back and forth excitedly, and you found yourself almost hypnotized by it. Was it soft, you wondered? It had to be. You slowly looked up to his ears again, noting how they twitched and swiveled at the slightest sound. These mannerisms reminded you of your own cat, and you smiled at that thought.
It wasn’t as though you’d never met a Thiren before, but this guy was seriously cute. You’d even go so far as to call him pretty, with his soft lavender eyes and unfairly long lashes. His feline features made him all the more intriguing.
Your eyes were just beginning to wander to his impressive deltoids peeking out from his sleeveless uniform before your cat let out a loud meow in your arms, breaking the silence that had formed between you and the officer and making you realize you’d been ogling him the entire time.
You immediately snapped your gaze back to his face, trying to pretend like you hadn’t just been looking him up and down like a creep. Luckily, it seemed like he’d been doing some staring of his own and was equally flustered.
You cleared your throat awkwardly and gave him a sheepish smile.
“Well, I should be getting back now. Thanks again for your help. Maybe I’ll see you around some time?”
You hoped that last part didn’t sound too pathetic. Thankfully for you, his eyes seemed to light up at your words.
“Yeah, for sure! Hope to see you again soon!”
He waved you off as you made your way home.
Walking the familiar path back to your apartment gave you some time to reflect on the interaction you’d just had. More specifically, your thoughts kept drifting back to the PubSec officer.
He’d been so sweet and friendly. His upbeat energy was contagious, and even now you couldn’t fight the grin spreading across your face as you remembered his cheerful laughter and blinding smiles. And he was easy on the eyes, charming and boyishly handsome.
Your stomach did a funny little flip when you thought about the last thing he said to you, how he sounded so excited at the prospect of running into you again. You’d be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t share his enthusiasm. His genuine mannerisms were refreshing, if not a little bit naïve, and it made you want to get to know him better.
You suddenly paused, a slight frown overtaking your features. You were reading too far into this, weren’t you? Of course you were. This guy was a PubSec officer, he was basically paid to be nice to civilians like you. And with how much he seemed to love his job, you bet he’d probably have the same happy grin on his face whether he was finding lost cats or arresting dangerous criminals.
And worst of all, you didn’t even know his name! You’d been so frazzled from the experience of almost losing your cat that introductions had been the furthest thing from your mind.
Another meow pulled you from your thoughts, reminding you that you’d been standing at the front door of your apartment for a while now without actually going inside. It was a careful balancing act to fish your keys out of your pocket while still holding your cat, but you managed to get the door open and place your cat inside safe and sound.
After double-checking your door was fully closed and locked, you sank down to the floor, letting out an exasperated sigh. Your cat happily plopped herself down in your lap, purring away as if she hadn’t just nearly given you a heart attack and led you on a wild goose chase throughout town mere minutes ago.
As you lovingly scratched under her chin, you resolved that you had a harmless little crush on the very nice, very handsome PubSec officer who saved your cat, and it wasn’t a big deal because you’d probably never talk to him again anyway. You couldn’t even imagine how busy his life as an officer was, so what were the odds of your paths crossing again?
****
As it turns out, the odds were surprisingly high.
About a week had passed since the “cat incident,” and thoughts of the cute PubSec officer had only briefly crossed your mind.
You were standing in the pet aisle of the grocery store, deliberating between different brands of cat food. Much to your delight (see: annoyance), your cat had suddenly decided she no longer wanted to eat the food you had been buying her for years, and now you were on a mission to find something she wouldn’t turn her little nose up at.
She stopped eating the chicken flavor, so do I go with tuna? Or would she like salmon better?
You were so absorbed in deliberating cat food flavors that you didn’t notice a familiar figure peering over your shoulder.
“If I were you, I’d pick the salmon one.”
Your head whirled around in surprise as you were greeted with a cheery voice and unmistakable grin.
“Oh, it’s you!”
Your feline savior smiled even wider knowing that you recognized him (not that he was easy to forget). He was clearly off-duty, as he was wearing plain clothes rather than his PubSec uniform. Without his bulky gear and long gloves, you were able to get a much better view of his muscles through his short-sleeved shirt.
Jeez, get a hold of yourself.
You mentally scolded yourself. You alternated your gaze between the cat food in your hands and his pretty purple eyes until you finally processed what he said.
“Thanks for the recommendation! Do you have a cat too, then?”
He tilted his head to the side and brought a hand up under his chin, as if deliberating how to answer your question. It was such a simple yet adorable action, and it reignited the spark of attraction you’d felt when you first met him.
“Hmmm, kinda? They’re not technically my cats. Like I said before, cats just really seem to like me for some reason, and a lot of strays like to come up to me while I’m walking around or out on patrol. So I like to have cat food with me, just in case! Most cats really seem to like that salmon one you’re holding.”
So it wasn’t enough that he was attractive, strong, kind-hearted, and honest, but he feeds stray cats, too? What’s next, he’s going to tell you he helps old ladies cross the street in his free time? Actually, nevermind; he absolutely does.
As your crush on this man started blooming all over again, you finally realized you didn’t even know his name.
Quickly tossing the salmon cat food in your basket and placing the other flavors back on the shelf, you stuck your hand out in greeting.
“I’m so sorry, I never actually introduced myself. What’s your name?”
“Oh yeah, you’re right! My name’s Seth!”
He grabbed your hand and gave it an enthusiastic shake, smiling when you gave him your name in return. He repeated it back to you, as if trying out the way it sounded on his tongue, still shaking your hand all the while. His grip was firm yet gentle, and you couldn’t help but admire how nicely your hand fit into his.
He finally dropped the handshake, and you briefly lamented the loss of contact. He spoke up again, clearly not in any rush to end the interaction.
“So how’s your cat doing?”
You sighed before relaying the story of your cat suddenly becoming a picky eater, which made him laugh. From there, the conversation flowed easily between the two of you, as if you had known each other for ages.
You learned he was part of the Public Security Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, a difficult path for a PubSec officer but one he was dedicated to nonetheless. He loved cats (obviously), and he wasn’t a fan of horror movies. You chimed in with tidbits of your own from time to time, but you were mostly content to just listen to Seth. Every now and then, you spared a glance downwards at his tail, which was swishing back and forth excitedly. It reminded you of how your cat looked when she was staring at a bird or squirrel out your window, engaged and laser-focused, and it made you smile internally.
You had no idea how much time had passed. The two of you were in your own little world, and it wasn’t until you heard someone clearing their throat loudly that you realized you were still standing in the grocery store, effectively blocking access to the cat food shelf.
You and Seth both apologized profusely and backed up so an older woman could reach past you two. Thankfully, she didn’t seem upset, and she even shot you a knowing wink as she shuffled away.
As much as you would have liked to keep talking to Seth, you unfortunately had other errands you needed to run today and you were sure Seth did as well.
“I’m sorry, I need to head out now, but it was really nice to see you again!”
You told him with a smile. You swore you saw his ears droop slightly, but he perked back up almost immediately.
“Yeah, I’m really glad I got to run into you! Hopefully I’ll see you again soon!”
You gave him a short wave goodbye before continuing on with the rest of your shopping.
Just like when you first met him, you kept replaying your interaction with Seth in your mind over and over. He was so easy to talk to, and you felt so comfortable around him despite this only being the second time you’d ever met.
Wait, did this mean you guys were friends now? Or were you more like acquaintances? Seth said he wanted to see you again and you certainly shared his sentiment, and the two of you had talked for so long about yourselves, so that probably made you friends at this point. Should you have gotten his phone number?
God, how did you keep fumbling this so badly? It was already a miracle you managed to bump into Seth at the grocery store, you doubted you would be lucky enough to cross paths with him again.
You felt bad for the old lady who was rooting for you. It seems like your infatuation with Seth was destined to be just that: infatuation, and nothing more. Besides, even if you somehow were able to see Seth again, he didn’t seem like the kind of guy who was concerned with dating and romance. He had goals and dreams to pursue, and you were sure he only thought of you as a friend anyway.
No use worrying about it now, I guess.
You continued on with your errands, resolving that if you did end up meeting Seth again, you would take that as a sign and ask him for his number. Not that it would actually happen, though.
****
Okay, now you were convinced you had some kind of guardian angel or deity watching over you, because what were the chances of this?
It had been about two weeks since you’d talked to Seth at the grocery store, and you had all but given up on the prospect of bumping into him again. You’d found yourself with a bit more free time than usual and to stave off the boredom, you decided to make a trip to the video store on Sixth Street.
You’d only been there a few times, but they had a massive selection of movies and the siblings who ran the store were very nice, even if they did keep trying to convince you to buy a premium membership.
You expected to be greeted by one of the managers or their Bangboo when you entered Random Play, but instead you saw Seth standing behind the front counter. It was your turn to tilt your head in confusion as Seth gave you his usual enthusiastic greeting.
“Hey! What are you doing here?”
That got a laugh out of you, shaking your head as you walked up to the counter.
“I feel like I should be asking you that. Do you work here?”
You doubted that Seth would have time for a second job or really any need for one, yet here he was. He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck and thinking for a moment before responding.
“Kinda? But not really. I’m friends with the managers here and they’ve been really nice to me, so I offered to help promote movies for them every now and then!”
Was there anyone in New Eridu this guy wasn’t friends with? It was sweet that he spent his free time helping Wise and Belle around the shop, especially when he probably didn’t get much free time in the first place.
You leaned your elbows on the counter, giving Seth a cheeky grin.
“Well then Mr. Promoter, do you have any good recommendations for me?”
Seth lit up like a Christmas tree, beaming at you excitedly. He moved from his spot behind the counter and wrapped a hand around your wrist, leading you over to one of the many displays along the wall.
He searched for a moment before he let out a little “ah ha!,” pulling a movie from the shelf and placing it in your hands.
“Have you ever heard of a movie called ‘Dimensional Musketeer’? It’s about this mysterious guy who goes into Hollows to fight Etherals, and he’s got this cool weapon that lets him take down even the strongest enemies! It’s one of my favorite movies of all time!”
He was talking so excitedly fast, it was almost hard to understand him. Still, if this was one of Seth’s favorites, then it was good enough for you. You smiled at him, pulling the movie case close to your chest.
“That sounds awesome! I’ll definitely give it a watch then.”
You thought you’d seen Seth happy before, but the joy on his face right now was incomparable.
“Great! Actually, why don’t we watch it together? This movie never gets old no matter how many times I see it, and I really want to know what you’ll think of it!”
It took you a moment before the implications of his words finally set in.
Was he… asking you on a date?
It seemed like a plausible explanation, but then again with how friendly and frankly oblivious Seth was, it was equally possible he just wanted to watch his favorite movie with a friend and nothing more.
Regardless, you weren’t going to pass up on this opportunity now, not when you had messed up so badly before. You tried not to let your tone betray how excited you were as you nodded in response.
“That sounds great! Do you want to come over to my place tonight? I’m sure my cat will be happy to see you again.”
Seth frowned slightly, looking bashful.
“Are you sure? I don’t want to feel like I’m inviting myself over.”
You laughed, tucking the movie case under your arm so you could grab both of Seth’s hands in yours.
“I wouldn’t have offered if I wasn’t sure. And you’re not inviting yourself over, I’m inviting you over, silly.”
Seth glanced down at where your hands were joined together, and you thought you saw a pinkish hue spreading across his cheeks.
“Y-yeah, I guess you’re right. Tonight at your place is it then! Do you use Knock Knock? I can add you right now!”
You let go of Seth’s hands so you could reach into your pocket and pull out your phone, handing it over to him so he could input his contact information.
When he handed you your phone back, you saw he put a little “(≧∀≦)” after his contact name, and you resisted the urge to squeal out loud from the cuteness of it all.
You followed Seth back to the front counter with the intention of paying for the movie. As you pulled out your wallet, though, he stopped you.
“Don’t worry about it, this one’s on me!
“Are you sure? I really don’t mind.”
“Of course! I, uh- I actually have the premium membership here, so I may as well put it to good use.”
Oh, poor Seth. Of course a sweet guy like him wouldn’t be able to say no to the managers’ persuasions.
“Thanks, I appreciate it! I have to get going now, but I’ll see you later tonight!”
Though certainly not unwelcome, you weren’t prepared to host guests and your apartment definitely needed some cleaning up before Seth came over.
“You’re welcome! And yeah, see you later!”
As soon as you made it out of the door of Random Play, you took a deep breath, trying to calm your racing heart.
Things had gone perfectly this time. You’d actually managed to secure a kind-of-maybe-not-but-also-maybe-yes date with Seth, and you were determined to make sure everything went smoothly.
****
You arrived home a little while later, having stopped on your way back to pick up some snacks and drinks for the evening. You started on the task of tidying up your space, letting your thoughts wander as you flited from chore to chore.
Should you dress up tonight? Or just keep it casual? Should you try to make a move? Was this even a date to begin with, or were you just reading too far into things?
On one hand, there certainly were signs that Seth liked you as more than just a friend. All those times you’d bumped into him, he seemed so genuinely happy to see you. Whenever you had to leave, you noted subtle signs of disappointment, whether it be a small dip in his near-permanent smile or a slight droop in his ears. And he was the one who suggested you watch a movie together in the first place. That had to mean something, right? You bit your bottom lip, trying to suppress your excited grin at the thought of Seth reciprocating your feelings. You could feel your face heating up and your heart beating incessantly against your chest.
But at the same time, you couldn’t fight the nagging thoughts lingering at the back of your mind, planting seeds of doubt and uncertainty. For as much as Seth wore his heart on his sleeve, you found him surprisingly hard to read. He was such a good-hearted and friendly guy that the cheerful smiles and warm greetings, the constant acts of kindness and generosity, the hopeful promises of meeting again, were probably something he shared with everyone. Were you selfish to think you were special somehow? If Seth didn’t like you back, would it ruin the friendship you’d managed to build thus far?
That thought almost knocked the breath from your lungs. You couldn’t let that happen. You’d much rather spend the rest of your days silently and hopelessly pining after Seth than lose him entirely.
Suddenly, this movie night didn’t seem like such a great idea anymore. But with how ecstatic Seth had been when you agreed to watch his favorite movie with him, you knew it would crush him if you backed out now.
You didn’t even realize how much time had passed until you heard a ping from your phone, jolting you out of your anxious ruminations. As you’d expected, it was a message from Seth, asking if it was still okay for him to come over soon.
No turning back now.
You sent back an affirmative reply before tossing your phone down to finish preparing for Seth’s arrival. You decided on an outfit that wasn’t too flashy but certainly a bit nicer than what you’d wear around the house. After setting out the food and drinks, you opted to sit on the couch, nervously fiddling with your fingers and trying your best to keep your nervous thoughts at bay.
You nearly fell off the couch in surprise when you finally heard a knock at your door. You stood at the doorway for a moment, taking one last moment to smooth out your clothes and tidy up your appearance before taking a deep breath. Seth was already beaming at you when you opened the door, and it helped put you at ease.
That’s right. It’s just Seth. No need to overthink things.
All of your reassured thoughts flew out the window when Seth pulled you in for a tight hug, squeezing you against him in a near-crushing grip. The feeling of being pressed into his firm chest and his muscular arms wrapped around your frame had your face heating up quickly.
“It’s nice to see you again!”
His words made you burn even hotter, and you prayed Seth couldn’t feel your embarrassed warmth through his shirt. You hesitantly reciprocated his hug, pushing your face closer into his chest in an attempt to hide your fluster.
“You too! But you know, I just saw you a few hours ago.”
Seth pulled back from the hug, giving you an unfairly adorable pout.
“I know, but it’s still nice to see you again.”
Your heart couldn’t handle such unabashed sincerity, and you could only smile and laugh awkwardly as you stepped aside to let him into your apartment, hoping he wouldn’t notice the flush still present on your cheeks.
Seth had hardly taken 2 steps inside before your cat came trotting up to him, meowing and brushing up against his legs affectionately. He chuckled, reaching down to pick her up. Your cat was purring louder than you’d ever heard, starting to fall asleep in his arms almost instantaneously. You couldn’t even bring yourself to be mad, your heart melting at the adorable sight before you. Seth finally turned his attention back to you.
“Thanks again for having me over!”
You shook your head, closing the door and leading him to the living room.
“Of course! I’m glad you could make it. I’m excited for the movie!”
“Me too!”
You crouched down in front of the TV, setting up the movie while he got comfortable with your cat now snoozing peacefully in his lap. Once everything was ready, you moved to take a seat on the couch next to Seth before you paused for a moment. How close should you sit to him? If you sit too close, it could be awkward. But if you sat on the far end of the couch from him, wouldn’t that be more awkward? He seemed to take note of your hesitancy, giving you a confused look before patting the empty space next to him.
“C’mon, the movie’s starting!”
Seth having made up your mind for you, you plopped down in the spot he designated for you, your thighs just brushing up against his. You stole a glance at Seth out of the corner of your eye to gauge his reaction, but he was already engrossed in the movie. You directed your gaze back to the screen, resolving that you would just focus on enjoying the movie in favor of dwelling on Seth’s intentions.
But as the evening went on, you found it harder and harder to stick to your resolve. While Seth remained fixated on the movie, you remained fixated on him. You realized this was the first time you’d really been able to admire Seth up close. Of course, you’d stolen plenty of glances at him during the times you’d spoken with him, but you had tried to keep most of your attention on his words, not wanting to be caught staring.
Now though, with Seth being so enthralled by the movie, you figured it was okay to let your gaze linger on him for a bit longer. You were positive he wouldn’t even notice.
The light from the TV screen illuminated his features, casting a soft radiance over him. In the relative darkness of the room, his hair seemed to glow, reflecting the light like a fresh blanket of snow. His bright purple eyes seemed somehow brighter, full of excitement and contentment. His ears were standing straight up, not wanting to miss a single word of the movie.
But most of all, your eyes kept drifting back to Seth’s tail.
It was swaying back and forth the way you’d seen it before when he was focused or excited, and it took all your willpower not to reach out and run your fingers through the fluffy tufts of fur. Whenever you’d encountered Seth previously, your eyes had always drifted down to his tail, your thoughts wandering to how it would feel to pet it. Realistically, it probably wouldn’t feel any different than when you pet your cat, but a part of you thought it might even be softer.
You knew it was such a weird fixation, and Thirens probably had to deal with rude people trying to touch them all the time, but you’d never be able to stop thinking about his tail if you didn’t get to pet it at least once.
You took a deep breath before steeling your resolve, shifting your position on the couch so you were now facing him with your legs crossed.
“Hey, Seth? Would it be okay if… I touched your tail? It just looks so soft and I keep wondering what it would feel like.”
The question tumbled forth from your lips faster than you’d meant it to. Seth’s jaw dropped at your words, a deep blush quickly spreading across the expanse of his face.
“You want to touch… my tail?”
He sounded so dumbfounded by your request, and you were afraid you’d overstepped a boundary.
“Only if that’s okay with you! I’m sorry if that was a weird ask. You can just forget I said anything-”
You started to backtrack, but Seth cut you off.
“No! You’re totally fine! You can touch my tail if you want to, no problem at all!”
He was trying to sound nonchalant, but his nervous tone betrayed his words. A blush was starting to spread across his cheeks, and you swore his breathing picked up. You tried to give him another out, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.
“Seth, if you’re not okay with it, that’s totally fine. I swear I won’t be offended.”
He took a deep breath before shaking his head. He grinned at you like he’d done a million times before, but this one felt different somehow, more vulnerable and earnest.
“If it’s you, it’s okay. I promise.”
Now it was your turn to blush. You were caught off-guard by how earnest his response was, and it was all you could do to nod in response.
Seth shifted on the couch until his tail was in your lap, the movement causing your cat to hop off from her perch on his legs and meander away with a meow of discontent. Despite his best efforts to keep it under control, his tail still swished nervously, but the softness brushing against your legs was a pleasant sensation. You reached a cautious hand up, gently running your fingers through the white strands of fur.
You were right: his fur was somehow softer than your own cat. You found yourself almost memorized by the impossibly fluffy texture, and you had to stop yourself from burying your face in his tail as you imagined how nice it would feel against your cheeks.
You turned your attention back to Seth, your hands still stroking his fur absentmindedly. He was more flustered than you’d ever seen him, fiddling with his fingers in his lap while avoiding your gaze. You could feel your own face heating up as you noticed a tension building between you two.
“Thank you for letting me touch your tail, Seth. It’s uh- really soft.”
You’d meant to try to lighten the atmosphere a bit, but you internally cringed at how awkward you sounded. Seth’s ears perked up at your words, his blush now spreading all the way down his neck. He only nodded in response, swallowing thickly before finally looking at you again. He opened and closed his mouth a few times before finally speaking in an uncharacteristically timid voice.
“Can I, uh- I mean would it be okay if I.. kissed you?”
“Wait, what?”
You honestly couldn’t believe what you’d just heard. Seth wanted to kiss you? Right now?
While your brain was short-circuiting, Seth began to panic. His face was an alarming shade of red, and his tail was swishing about wildly.
“Wait, do you not like me uh- you know, like that? I’m so sorry! I just thought with you wanting to touch my tail, you… you know. But if not, that’s totally okay, too! I’m really sorry!”
You wanted to slap yourself for your ignorance. Of course, Thiren’s tails were special to them, and asking Seth to touch his tail was a huge deal! This certainly wasn’t the outcome you’d been expecting when you’d first asked, but you couldn’t believe that Seth reciprocated your feelings. Your words came out in a rushed frenzy as you tried to salvage the painfully awkward situation.
“No! I mean, yes, I do like you! A lot, actually. I just didn’t think you felt the same way.”
Seth tilted his head to the side, staring at you like you’d grown an extra limb.
“Of course I like you! I’ve liked you since I first met you! How could I not? You’re attractive and funny and nice and you like cats and-”
You cut off Seth’s rambling by sealing your lips over his, pouring all of your feelings for him into the kiss. If Seth had continued listing everything he liked about you, you’re sure your heart would have exploded.
Seth was initially caught off guard, but he quickly recovered and kissed you back with equal fervor, reaching a hand up to cup your cheek.
Kissing Seth was everything you hoped it would be and more. His lips fit against yours like a puzzle piece. He seemed a little hesitant and unsure of what to do, but you were happy to take the lead, moving your lips softly and gently against his so as not to overwhelm him.
You only pulled away when your lungs were burning for air. Seth wasn’t in much better shape, his breath fanning across your face as he panted heavily.
For a while, neither of you spoke, choosing instead to bask in the passionate moment you just shared. Finally, Seth broke the silence.
“So, uh- was that okay?”
He asked with a sheepish grin, his face still painted with a pink flush. God, he was so disgustingly adorable. You swore you were getting the same feeling of cuteness aggression you got whenever your cat did something precious.
You gave in to your impulses, reaching up to squish Seth’s cheeks in both your hands. You yanked him close until your nose was brushing against his. Seth let out a yelp of surprise, his ears sticking straight up.
“You’re so fucking cute.”
You mumbled before pressing your mouth to his once more. One hand reached up to run through his soft hair, your fingers barely brushing against the base of his ears.
He shivered at your touch, his tail wrapping around your waist to drag you further into him until you were almost sitting on his lap.
The kiss was indulgent and lazy yet no less passionate than before. You had all the time in the world to kiss Seth now, and you intended on savoring it.
After who knows how long, Seth pulled away first this time, planting a final kiss on your nose and leaning his forehead against yours.
“You’re way cuter.”
You giggled at his sweet words, and Seth couldn’t help but laugh with you. As you leaned in for another kiss, you made a mental note to give your cat as many treats as she wanted, silently thanking her for running away from home and leading you to the man you never knew you belonged with.

Jake walked out of the maternity ward, causing your extended family to quickly get to their feet. He let out an incredulous laugh as everyone moved to gather around him, still not fully believing that he was officially a father now. There were a handful of questions thrown at him, but Jake was still lost in his own world.
He was a dad. He had a little girl waiting for him.
“How are they?” Penny asked, her hand on his shoulder bringing him out of his stupor.
“They’re both healthy. She did great and there weren’t any complications. Baby Girl came out kicking and screaming. She’s six pounds, three ounces. And she's sixteen inches long.”
“And her name?” Maverick asked softly.
“She wanted to tell everyone all together,” Jake replied with a wide smile. And it was going to be near impossible to remove the smile from his face. That awestruck, completely in love smile was practically permanent at this point. “So, she told me to come and bring you all back.”
The group left the waiting room, starting the short trip down the hall to visit you and your baby. Coyote quickly pulled Jake into a bear hug, squeezing the life out of his best friend. Releasing him, Coyote smacked Jake supportively on the back.
“I knew you’d make back it in time,” Coyote replied with a grin.
You were cuddling with your daughter on the hospital bed when there was a light knock on the door. You looked up and smiled softly when you saw your family. And even though you were clearly exhausted, you were absolutely radiating joy. And with the beautiful baby girl in your arms, it wasn’t hard to figure out why.
“Hi, everyone.”
“How are you feeling?” Penny asked, moving to sit beside your bed.
“Tired. But she’s finally here.”
You smiled contentedly as you rested your head on top of your daughter’s, still soaking it all in. Sitting up more, you shifted your hold on your daughter, gently rolling towards your family so that they could all see her. You shared a smile with Jake before staring down at your daughter.
“Everyone, meet Sara Seresin.”
“Sarah . . . Seresin?” Maverick repeated slowly, seemingly wincing as he did so.
“After Sarah Kazansky?” Emma asked kindly.
“No, there’s no ‘h.’”
“Well, that makes a huge difference,” Coyote replied, bobbing his head up and down as he shared a side-eye look with his wife.
“Sara Seresin,” Phoenix stated, staring at you like you had grown two heads in the process.
“That’s . . . a beautiful name,” Penny assured you, pinching Maverick in the side.
Jake snapped a picture of everyone’s reaction before turning back to you and your daughter. You tried to fight the laugh at your simple prank, but soon enough, a giggle escaped your lips. Ignoring everyone’s incredulous stares, you adjusted your daughter’s hat.
“We didn’t name her that,” Jake told everyone, earning a series of sighs of relief.
“Oh thank god,” Maverick stated, holding a hand to his heart. Patting your brother on the back, he added, “No offense, Bradley.”
Your brother shot Maverick a look as Jake leaned down to pick up your daughter. Jake carefully took your daughter into his arms, holding her gently against his chest as he turned to the crowd. Everyone seemed to hold their breaths as Jake slowly moved his gaze from his daughter’s face to them.
“We named her Maisie.”
"Maisie Caroline," you added softly.
“Oh, that’s so beautiful,” Penny cooed, squeezing you into her side.
“Much better than Sara Seresin,” Coyote stated under his breath, earning a side-eye look from Bradley. “What?”
“Who wants to hold her?” Jake asked, looking around the room.
Maverick urged Bradley forward and stepped to the side, eyes already brimming with happy tears. Bradley held out his arms and Jake carefully placed your daughter into them. Bradley gently cradled your daughter against his chest, staring down at her with wide eyes as he felt her wiggle.
“I was expecting her to be bigger,” Bradley admitted quietly, turning back to you.
“I’m glad that she wasn’t,” you replied, earning a round of quiet laughs.
“She’s so beautiful,” Emma praised, looking over Bradley’s arm at your daughter.
You and Jake shared a look before you smiled and nodded, reaching out to gently nudge your husband forward. Jake turned back to your brother as Bradley adjusted your daughter’s blanket. He stared down at your daughter as he came to stand beside Bradley.
“Meet your goddaughter,” Jake stated quietly, causing Bradley to turn to him with shock.
“You’re serious?”
“If you don’t want to be—”
“—Thank you,” Bradley interjected instead before Jake could retract his statement. Glancing down at his niece, who was peacefully snuggling into her blanket, Bradley turned back to Jake. “Really, thank you. I know that I wasn’t very supportive of your relationship in the beginning.”
“That might be an understatement,” Jake deadpanned.
“And we didn’t get along for a long time.”
“Since we met.”
“And I stand by it.”
“As do I,” Jake agreed, ignoring the fact that you were rolling your eyes at them.
“But Emma and I are here for you guys if you need anything. Babysitting. Deployments. Anything. Really. You’re a part of our family now. Forever, actually, because of Maisie.”
Jake nodded in appreciation before Bradley turned to give your daughter to Maverick. Although Jake trusted both men with his life—and already had—he couldn’t help but hover during the transfer. His hands were practically itching to cradle your daughter as Maverick carefully took her into his arms.
“He’s already not letting her out of his sight,” Penny whispered to you, amused.
“Not if he can help it,” you agreed with a smile. “She’s got him wrapped around her tiny little finger.”
Maverick cradled Maisie against his chest, holding her protectively. Bradley walked over to give you a hug as Maverick took in the fact that he was holding Goose and Carole’s first grandchild. Goose was a grandpa. Carole was a grandma. To the most beautiful little girl that Maverick had seen since you were born.
“She’s so beautiful,” Maverick croaked out, sniffling as he tried to not let his tears drop down onto your daughter. Turning to you, he added, “Your parents are so proud of you, sweetheart. And they’re here.”
“I know, Mav,” you returned, trying and failing at not crying at his words. Bradley hugged you tighter as you dried your tears.
Turning to Jake, Maverick offered your daughter. Jake quickly accepted your daughter back into his arms and immediately smiled wider as he held his daughter once again. Jake greeted your daughter softly, as if he had been parted from her for too long. Maverick nodded to himself, very proud and thankful that Jake was ecstatic to be a dad to your daughter.
That little girl was going to be loved, that much was certain.
“Congratulations,” Maverick told Jake, giving his arm a gentle squeeze.
“Thank you,” Jake returned softly.
Maverick walked over to check on you and Jake walked over to where Javy and Nat were standing, waiting patiently for their turn. Javy squeezed Jake’s shoulder supportively, staring down at Maisie with a wide smile.
“She’s beautiful, Jake,” Javy replied, giving his wingman a side hug.
“She gets it from her mom.” Jake shifted his hold on your daughter as he turned back to Javy. “Do you want to hold her?”
“Of course, I want to hold her.”
Jake maneuvered your daughter safely into her Uncle Javy’s arms. Javy had plenty of nieces and nephews, so he wasn’t a stranger to the move. Javy smiled down at Maisie and cooed softly, watching her nose wrinkle as she wiggled in her pink blanket. She stuck her tongue out, causing Javy to laugh.
“Yeah, she’s your daughter alright.”
Phoenix walked over to your hospital bed with a paper take out bag. Holding it out to you, she offered a supportive smile as you shot her a questioning look.
“Your post-baby meal. As promised.”
“You’re amazing,” you breathed out, happily taking the bag from her.
“And whenever you stop breastfeeding, I’ll drop off some wine. You’re going to need it raising Hangman’s kid.”
Everyone stayed for a little bit longer, but no one wanted to intrude on your and Jake’s time with your daughter. You fell asleep not long after Penny and Mav left, leaving Jake and Maisie alone in the hospital room for the first time.
Jake laid down on the couch and rested your daughter against his bare chest again, taking the nurse’s advice on skin-to-skin contact. Maisie’s little head had a surprising amount of hair and Jake slowly ran his finger through it to keep her soothed. Smiling down at his daughter, Jake looked over to see you still peacefully sleeping.
“You scared your mom earlier today, coming early like that. And me too. I thought that I had time to surprise your mom. I was going to get her some nice flowers, set up your nursery, and the rest of the house. But nothing went according to plan with our entire relationship, so I should have expected that you would pull something like this.”
Your daughter wiggled around against Jake’s chest, curling into his body warmth as he continued to brush her hair and back softly.
“And you’re the best welcome home present that I’ve ever received, sweetheart,” Jake added, unable to stop smiling. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head before leaning back again. “I’m always going to be here for you, okay? Don’t you ever forget that. I love you. I love your mom. And I’ll do anything to protect the both of you, alright? From anything.”
Jake laid there with your daughter, content to simply watch her, until she started to get fussy. Wiggling and feeling around, Maisie started to try to feed on him. Jake gently rolled to sit up and held Maisie in his arms. Trying to placate her, Jake hoped that you’d be able to sleep for a little longer.
But then Maisie started to cry even louder, and Jake could hear you shift on your bed.
“Jake,” you called, cracking open your eyes.
“I think she’s hungry,” Jake stated, getting up and walking to you.
Nodding tiredly, you sat up and pulled your hospital gown down. Jake handed over your daughter and you tried to get her settled. After some time, Maisie latched and started to feed, allowing you to lean back and close your eyes, still half-asleep.
Jake kept a supportive arm under yours, knowing that you were exhausted. Staring down at Maisie as she suckled, Jake pressed a kiss to the side of your head. You hummed, but Jake could tell that you were tired. Actually, tired was an understatement.
When Maisie finally had her fill, Jake took her into his arms again. Holding your daughter with one arm, Jake readjusted your hospital gown and pulled the blanket up further.
“Go back to sleep. I’ve got her,” Jake told you softly, gently brushing your hair out of your face. “I love you.”
“Love you too,” you mumbled back tiredly.
~~~~~
Your time in the hospital flew by and before you knew it, you were being released. Jake helped you into the back of your car, where your daughter was already safely strapped in. You were still exhausted, but glad to go home to your own bed. You wanted to finally settle into your home with your husband and your daughter.
Jake gently closed the door to the driver’s seat, not wanting to startle your daughter, and looked back at the two of you over his shoulder. He glanced up at the little mirror attached to the head rest that you had been gifted at your baby shower, which allowed him to look down at your sleeping daughter.
“How’re you doing?” he asked you, causing you to smile softly.
“I’m ready to go home."
“Me too,” Jake agreed, returning your smile.
Starting the car, Jake backed up out of the parking spot and began to drive home. You kept a close eye on your daughter, but Maisie was content and slept through the short ride. Well, it would have been short, but Jake insisted on taking the backroads, driving the speed limit, and yielding to just about everyone or everything. But the three of you eventually made your way home.
“Welcome home, Maisie. Welcome home, Jake,” you stated with a small grin.
Jake got out of the car first and walked around to grab your daughter's car seat. And then the three of you walked into the house together as a family for the first time ever.
Jake quietly noted the boxes that were still piled up around the place but didn't comment about it. Breaking away from Jake’s side, you slowly made your way over to the kitchen and picked up the note that someone left for you.
Your fridge and freezer are full of meals for the two of you. Enjoy this time with your daughter and don’t worry about cooking. Just focus on your family. And you know that you can always call me if you need help. With Love, Sarah.
“I should call her,” you stated, showing Jake the note. He picked it up and noted the writing on the back.
“And don’t worry about calling me, I know you’re thankful,” Jake read aloud, causing you to laugh to yourself.
“I wonder when my mom-senses are actually going to kick in,” you mused, looking down at your daughter.
“They’re already there,” Jake insisted, setting your daughter’s car seat on the ground gently. “Now, what did you want to do while she’s still sleeping?”
“We should probably put her crib together.”
Jake found the box among the stack and pulled it out. You sat on the couch, keeping an eye on your sleeping daughter. Jake opened up the box and handed you the instructions before he started to lay out all of the different pieces.
“Did you want me to read them to you?” you asked, flipping through the instructions.
“I can figure it out,” Jake insisted, causing you to look up and raise an eyebrow at your husband.
“You’re just going to figure it out?” you repeated slowly.
“How hard can a crib be to put together?”
Twenty minutes later, you were sorting through all of the baby clothes that you had been gifted to pull out the size that fit your daughter as Jake quietly muttered to himself. Knowing that he would stubbornly refuse to admit that he was struggling without the directions, you decided to try and shift his focus.
“Now that I think about it, did you want to set up the bassinet first?” you suggested.
“Which box is that?” he agreed, standing up.
“The one sticking out on the right side,” you stated, trying not to laugh at your husband.
Jake, however, could hear the smile in your voice and turned back to you. Walking over to you, he leaned down so that you were eye level.
“I will figure out the crib,” he insisted softly.
“I know you will,” you assured him, running your hand down his cheek. Pressing a soft kiss to his lips, you added, “You’ll look at the directions while I’m asleep, won't you?”
“I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”
Jake pecked your lips again before straightening up and moving to grab the box with the bassinet in it. You smiled to yourself before looking down at your daughter. You leaned down a little bit, placing your finger in her curled fist.
“Your dad is really stubborn. Please tell me that you didn’t get that trait from him.”
“I can hear you.”
“Shh, this is a private conversation,” you teased, causing Jake to smile and shake his head.
~~~~~
Jake set Maisie down in her crib, which he built while you took a nap. If he used the directions or not, he would never admit it aloud. Not unless you gave him a pout, anyways. You walked into your bedroom, having put away some milk for Jake to grab in the night for Maisie, and smiled tiredly when you saw Jake hovering over your daughter.
“How is she?”
“She’s asleep.” Turning to you, Jake walked over and grabbed your hands. “Now, it’s time to take care of you.”
You and Jake stepped into the adjacent bathroom. After you anxiously rambled to Jake about leaving Maisie alone, he very gently pulled her crib over to be next to the door—but not blocking it to avoid steam and just in case there was an emergency—and placed a baby monitor receiver on the towel rack beside the shower, just in case you couldn’t hear her.
Jake gently undressed you before undressing himself. Testing the temperature of the water, Jake stepped in first before offering you a hand. You couldn’t help the sigh of relief that escaped as the hot water hit your sore body. Leaning against your husband, you curled your head into his chest.
Being very gentle with you, Jake lathered your hair with shampoo before washing it out for you. Rubbing his hands together with body soap, Jake carefully washed your skin, knowing that the residual hospital smell was bothering you.
“I could get used to this,” you murmured, running your hand through his hair.
After applying conditioner to your hair, Jake held you in his arms as you leaned against his chest. He rubbed your back as the water rained down on the two of you. Pressing a kiss to your head, Jake rested his head against your own.
He didn’t want to bring it up with you yet, not until he could assess the situation himself. But he was worried about you.
When he would check in with Coyote and Phoenix while he was deployed, they mentioned that you weren’t like yourself in the last few weeks of your pregnancy. And Penny confirmed that for him, when he had a moment to talk to her privately at the hospital.
And he hoped that it was just part of your pregnancy and was now nothing to worry about, but he wasn’t just going to dismiss it.
You were his wife. You just had your baby girl two days ago after finishing up your third trimester without him. You moved into this house without him. You had your baby shower without him. You did a thousand things without him because you were forced to just deal with what life threw at you.
And he wasn’t going to let anything happen to you or Maisie. The past nine months, you had been doing the heavy lifting. And now it was his turn to do that.
Turning off the water, Jake stepped out to grab a towel. He dried you off and after helping you into some pajamas and pulling on some shorts, Jake led you back to your bed. He helped dry your hair as you applied some moisturizer.
“How do you feel now?” Jake asked, causing you to smile up at him.
“Better, thank you.”
You leaned over and pressed a kiss to his lips that Jake was happy to return. Jake put the TV on and the two of you cuddled in bed as you quickly started to fall asleep. Jake held you into his side, rubbing his thumb on your hip.
“I love you,” he told you softly, causing you to hum.
“I love you too, Jake.”

Soft fur | cl16
Summary: When your date with Charles takes an unexpected turn. Or when you have a new fluffy member in the family.
Warning: None, a lot of fluff from Charles and reader.
You and Charles have been dating for a long time, and occasionally you go on casual dates since you are both busy and hardly have time for a date as such, and today is one of those. You are both sitting in front of each other, the sun was coming through the window of the place, plates with half-eaten and delicious pastries occupy the space between you. You take a bite of a macaron, your eyes sparkle with delight.
“You're enjoying that, mon amour?” Charles asks while keeping a little smile on his face.
You nod with your mouth full. “Mmm! It's so light and airy, just like... Well, you.”
He chuckles. “Me? It's that because I'm sweet and fluffy? Flattery will take you so far, love.” He winks and reaches for your hand, intertwining your fingers. You blush lightly, a shy smile playing on your lips.
Moments later, you walk hand in hand down a cobblestone street. The afternoon sun warms up your skin, and the gentle murmur of conversation hangs in the air while you talk about everything and nothing at the same time.
“...and then the girl screamed very loudly in the office, and I was scared, she screamed because there was a bug in her coffee cup, she started shaking the cup, spilling coffee all over the floor. I swear it was something out of a movie.”
“Oh god, I can imagine it, baby.” he said while laughing.
Suddenly you feel something soft against your ankle, you stop and look down at the floor to see fluffy siamese kitten nuzzling you leg. Its emerald eyes looked at you with great curiosity and innocence.
“Oh god Charles, look! It's a kitty! It's so small, oh my!” You say while gasping.
He kneels while extending a hand. “Hello there, little one. Where did you come from?”
The kitten rubs against his palm, purring contentedly. You watch, your heart melting at the beautiful sight.
“It's so cute. Can we pet it?”
He smiles. “Of course, mon ange.”
He gently picks up the kitten, cradling it in his arms. You reach out with a shy smile, tentatively stroking its soft fur. Memories of your childhood flood back: begging your parents for a pet, daydreaming about cuddling with a furry friend, or simply being your companion while you study.
“You know? I always wanted a kitten when I was younger. But my parents never let me had one.” You said with your voice a little brittle.
He notice your wistful expression. “Is that something you still want princess?”
“I don't know... It seems a bit silly now, being an adult and all.” You say a little hesitantly.
Looks at you intently. “Silly? I don't think it's silly love. If it makes you happy, it's not necessarily silly.”
He holds the kitten out to you. You hesitate for a moment, then cautiously take it in your arms. The warmth of its tiny body fills you with a sense of comfort and joy.
“Thank you Charles.” You say in a whisper.
He smiles warmly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Consider it an early Valentine's day present.”
You let out a little giggle and continue walking together, now with your new furry friend, which is quite comfortable in your arms, the sun light becomes brighter and more resplendent. After walking for a while, you and Charles stand in a bustling pet store, the kitten nestled comfortably in your arms. Shelves overflow with cat toys, treats, and colorful accessories.
“There are many options! What can we choose?” Your eyes are wide with wonder.
He chuckles. “Well, let's ask the experts, don't we?” He approaches a friendly-looking employee wearing a name tag that reads "Sarah." “Hi there! We found a little lost soul and are looking for the perfect essentials to welcome it home.”
“Oh, how adorable! What a lucky kitty. Let's see what we can do.”
Sarah guides you through the maze of cat supplies, explaining the differences between food brands, litter types, and scratching posts. You bombard her with questions, your excitement growing with each answer.
***
Later, you stand in your cozy apartment, transforming a small corner of the living room into a cat sanctuary. Charles helps you assemble a cat condo, set up a litter box, and fill bowls with food and water. The kitten, now sporting a cute red collar and named "Sparks" by you, explores its new territory with playful curiosity.
“All ready! What do you think Sparks? Happy with your new digs?” You say while wiping some sweat from your forehead caused by the work of arranging things.
Sparks rubs against your leg, purring loudly. You kneel down and scoop it up, burying your face in its soft fur. A contented sigh escapes your lips.
“You look radiant, mon bébé! Even happier than with the pastries.” He said while wrapping his arms around you.
“Maybe it's the pastries, maybe it's the kitten, but mainly it's you. Thank you for making this dream come true, Charles!” You say with a little smile on your face as you lean into him.
He kisses your forehead, his eyes filled with love. Sparks, sensing the affection, snuggles closer to you, completing the picture of perfect domestic bliss.
“Now we have a little family!” He says while having a smile on his face.
“Maybe later, a little human addition to the family?” You say in a whisper.
Charles's eyes widen in surprise, followed by a slow, teasing grin. “Mon ange, are you proposing?”
“Maybe...” You say while blushing. “But I think for now we are fine the way we are.”
You don't rule out the idea of having a family in the future, whether near or distant, with Charles, but at the moment you guys are pretty good with Sparks and their fun and curious things that they do every day and that make them smile at the least expected moment, no matter how stressed or tired you both are, Sparks is always there to make you smile.

Aubrey examined her outfit: a big Ferrari shirt given to her through PR, a pair of cotton shorts and white scrunch socks.
She figured it hardly mattered; more and more everyday, she was sure that Ollie would think she was beautiful not matter what she wore.
When she showed up at his door, he was very broad, damp and shirtless.
Not to brag, but she was one of the biggest young names in Hollywood. She’d worked with male models and actors alike, but none of them managed to stir up a storm in the pit of her stomach like Ollie could.
His sweatpants (grey) were slung low on his hips, and he had a towel in one hand. With a dopey grin, he swung her into his arms as she squealed.
“Oliver, you’re getting water in my hair! I just blew dried it!”
“Yeah? Looks nice.” He told her, all wide innocent eyes as he dumped her on his bed. The big television had Cars 1 & 2 queued up already.
“Nice,” she grinned as he settled in beside her, “very fitting.”
“I thought you’d appreciate my wittiness.” He shrugged modestly, and she poked his rib.
“Watch the movie, Bearman.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
He casually flopped over onto her lap, laughing when she groaned at his weight. Aubrey slid her right leg under him, and he shifted so he was lying between her legs, still facing the TV with his head resting on her stomach.
“How are you liking France?” He murmured, sliding a big hand up and down her calf. Something low and hot bubbled in her stomach and only intensified when he dragged the tip of his nose over the sensitive skin of her thigh.
“I love it here. It’s so rare I get to practice my French now,” she carded her fingers through his soft brown hair, “how about you?”
“It’s…” he sighed contentedly, pushing up into her hand like a puppy dog, “it’s…really nice, doing touristy stuff. During race weekends we don’t get to.”
“Hmm. And there’s not much paparazzi around. In America, it’s so terrible. I just want to hide away in my apartment.”
“I’ll bet. Sometimes I forget that you’re super famous.” He admitted, stroking her ankle with his thumb.
“Sometimes I forget when I’m with you too.”
“I think that’s good. We’re just…two normal people.”
“Do you remember my Elle magazine interview?”
“How could I not?” He answered quietly, and she flushed.
“I meant what I said you know. You and Charl and Alex and Lily…I’ve never got to be a teenager and this is really nice.”
“Me too. I mean this is pretty glamorous, but,”
“It’s still better than just the cameras and the fame.” She concluded for him, suddenly feeling very sleepy.
“You’re better than any camera and all of the fame in the world, Yang.” He murmured.
Her fingers slid to his ear, fiddling with the soft his earlobe.
She wondered what they were. He was her best friend, no one could make her laugh or feel so much like he could. Being with his was easier than it had been with Mace or anyone else. He always told her what he was thinking.
"You are something special, Ollie Bearman."
Aubrey woke up to the sound of a Shakira song and a space heater pressed up against her.
She realized, blinking the sleep out of her eyes, that the Shakira song was Charles’s ringtone and the space heater was one Ollie Bearman.
She was tucked under the covers, her legs tangled with his much longer ones. Her face was pressed into his bicep, his forearms locked firmly around her waist. He looked so angelic, sleeping through Hips Don’t Lie. She sat up slowly, reaching for her phone.
“Hello?” She asked blearily.
“Hello? That’s all you have to say for yourself? Alex and I are worried sick! Where are you?”
“Oh, shit. Sorry! I fell asleep in Ollie’s room,” she heard Alex yell on the other side of the line and Charles gasp, “no! Not like that. We watched a movie and knocked out, honest.”
She felt like she’d been caught by her parents.
“Aubrey?” Alex came onto the phone, “You will tell me everything later. Also can we please leave before lunch to shop? Charl owes me a bag. I told him you two would end up in a situation like this!”
“You guys bet about us?” Ollie lifted his head, squinting up at her.
“No..?” The older woman tried, “Okay, yes. See you in an hour!”
“Wha..” He asked, voice deep from sleep. She bit her lip, no one should look that good waking up.
He pulled her back down, pressing his face into her hair.
“We should get up,” she murmured, having no intention of moving for a while.
“Sure.” He replied, burrowing them further into the sheets.
