good morning i have slept a total of 2 hours here’s my spoiler breakdown for terrible influence antwerp

they start by playing a text to speech voice who welcomes us and the straight boyfriends and the dads (they’re a bit obsessed with the dads i’ll be real) the voice tells us if we film she’s gonna sue are asses. text to speech lady she is an icon

dnp come out and they’re like yo this is cool it’s the first show, you guys are gonna see what we’ve been up to and then they’re like it’s the first show so we can use you guys to decide if we change anything

they they’re like there’s probably people in the audience who don’t really know us so they do a 15 years of dan and phil lore breakdown with dolls of themselves in little set of iconic dnp locations (made by pj and sophie btw) they put these sets in a table in front of a camera and it shows on the big screen, (for 1 section of this the screen doesn’t work for the first part lol) also phil makes the dolls kiss and they also make the dolls hump the breakfast bar cos of course they do

i can’t remember what happens next or maybe it jumps right into the next thing i mention

they play a game show called role model or no-model which is a madlibs style game where you have to decide if the version of dan and phil the audience creates is a role model or not these are compared to real dnp. we had homophobic furry lawyer dan and linguistics dr phil wo has a thing for hamsters. just an fyi for this dan is really good at hearing what the audience is saying and phil is not at all and im pretty sure he made his up cos he couldn’t understand what we wanted

okay so after this iirc they start talking about the youtube landscape and what they’re gonna do after tour and how to keep people entertained and they go on a little adventure through different genres of youtube like minecraft lets plays, vtubers and then they pretend to be mr beast and pretend to give away a bunch of stuff that they don’t have, they cure us of any mental health issues and they cure us from being gay <3

then they decide to have a boxing match cos obvs that’s what youtubers do, they ask us to cheer for whoever they want to win and it has cool intro to it! i’ll be honest this boxing match goes on for entirely too long like it spans the end of the first half and the start of the second but they have like choreographed fighting and OMFG it’s very gay and like suggestive and they do many times look like they’re gonna have sex 😂 like one of phils moves is to hit dan with his ass while dan is holding him from behind so… yeah. anyway dan thought he won ours and then phil knocked him out with a tv, as he should!! also before they end the first half they’re having an insult match where phils tells dan hes gonna burn his house down only for dan to say they live in the same house and i was dying it was so funny, phil also calls dan a dickhead and this is where he also calls him a cunt and that’s how the first half ends. oh also phil has a fake 6 pack on and that’s the $300 dollar silicone btw

okay second half after dan is dead they have a sincere moment and then they’re like you guys keep telling us you want load of long unedited content and they ask us to tell them a topic to monologue about and someone shouts feet and they rant about feet lmao phil excitedly tells everyone he has a better wiki feet rating than dan

then dan goes on a rant about being discriminated against as a millennial (can’t remember how we got there) and phil gets bored and starts watching subway surfers and i’ll be real honest as a gen z i instantly got distracted by subway surfers and didn’t listen to what dan was saying (that was the point tho) and phil keeps turning up the volume and dan gets mad and he storms off

we have a nice sincere moment with phil but idk what tf it was cos neither did phil 😂

then suddenly a voice, oh here she comes, she asks if we’re ready to confess our sins and out comes sister daniel, everyone fucking loses it, if you heard me screaming so loud no you didn’t.

anyway they read some confessions (phil is father philip) and they read out a few including one from @dnphobe !!! phil has a water gun that he didn’t have when he was meant to and couldn’t find and then found and he was spraying it at people to cleanse them of their sins which is what they meant by people being in the splash zone btw also phil sprayed it at dan it was kinda cute

okay so they say they need to go and get changed and they head off stage and there’s a gag where they leave the microphone on and they’re purposely making it sound sexual and it’s so funny and then dan comes out and phil doesn’t cos he’s struggling with his leather fucking trousers that was a completely unscripted part for sure

then they talk about the hiatus a bit and how dan left us and they keep calling us their family and brb while i cry my eyes out

then they pull out a fucking banger of a song, like i can’t even explain to you how good it is, it has a fully like kpop style dance to it that im gonna fucking learn lmao and dan was so good at it like im not even kidding that man was pulling moves!! phil was doing great too btw but he definitely wasn’t as confident in it as dan was but damn it’s the best song yet imo!!

also i forgot to write the conspiracy bit because i forgot where in the show it is but on one of them they were trying so hard to make us say the opposite one but we were literally forcing tour bus on them and yes they confirmed they shared a bed on that tour bus!! and they played it off like its okay for friends to do that (cos it is) but they way they said it was that thing again where they blur the line a little so we know what they actually mean but still pretend they mean something else

In terms of potential, I'm not quite sure. My first thought was Draco (Duh) mostly because I wish so badly that they kept the scene in the final movie where he threw his wand to Harry. That alone would probably do so much for his character, and I am very likely going to do something with it in the fic. Plus the whole really weird hug with Voldy thing, kinda seems like Voldy is trying to have a relationship with him that parallels Harry and Dumbledore's. Anyway, Draco's SO uncomfortable all the time in 7th, it makes me very excited to get to it :) I also think Narcissa is pretty interesting since she kinda parallels Lily, and the fact she lied to the Dark Lord TO HIS FACE and protected Harry...I know I make Narcissa out to be just a very overbearing mother (and bad cook) but I hope to make Draco see the other sides to her later on, when he gets his head out of his ass. For now, she's sort of just comic relief, but there are some things set up in the very first years that will come back in the later years.

(also i REALLY need to add neville in some more--thematically he's super important, but he just doesn't get that much screen time yet. I'll have to think more about how to integrate him, but definitely he will appear more in 3rd w/ other characters. Other characters I plan to include are Cedric, Luna, maybe Cho? Marietta, probably, for the whole traitor thing in the 5th book, and ofc Pansy and Zabini, though those two are the flattest in the books so I'm gonna have to make up a lot of stuff lol. gotta add in sirius obvs [he's actually my favorite, which was why he was not-malfoy's fave in the old version], and remus [also we gotta discuss the werewolf in the room, with the whole snape prank thing...])

Draco would probably blackmail Lockhart into taking the gun and shooting Umbridge twice. He isn't stupid enough to try to kill Voldemort with a gun (are the horcruxes around in this hypothetical?also Voldy lived in like. WWII? Although he's ignorant of love magic stuff, he is probably deeply aware of the dangers of Muggle weapons, which maybe relates to his desire to conquer them) but Draco would love Umbridge dead, and he'd want more blackmail on Lockhart lol. The man's main fear is losing his reputation so that's probably a better punishment than death. If it's sixth year Draco he might just shoot himself though

I have mentioned that Draco doesn't want to date as a minor or date minors even if physically the same age due to the weird age gap/time question thing (a really big issue in isekai/transmigration imo, and the bit of this fic that makes me want to just make it platonic--seriously. I read one where this grown man DATED A SEVEN YEAR OLD B/C HE WAS IN A CHILD'S BODY??) but Harry will obviously not be thinking about that since for all he knows, they're both normal kids. You can probably safely assume he starts thinking of romance at the same time as in the books, though obviously his friendship w/ Draco and the whole "it's the nineties and I think I'm gay?!" thing would make him not as proactive about it for a while

Hello guys guess what I (finally) saw Les Mis on the west end today so I need somewhere to rant about it bear with me here

(under the cut because 1- spoilers and 2- I have no idea how long this is going to be)

First of all just a small disclaimer : I am not in any part of this trying to be like "A was better than B in this role " or whatever it's just me being happy I got to see this show :)

Just hearing the opening live for the first time was amazing. Same goes for the whole show obv but this opening is the best

Also I did not know there were changing backgrounds this was so cool I really liked them

And the whole stage was super impressive I didn't expect everything to be that big it was amazing

Valjean was so good ??? I really liked his acting and his voice is actually incredible. Especially for Bring him home, I think it was one of my favorite versions of this song he has a really intense voice

Javert was incredible as well- I believe it was Stewart Clarke ? Point is he was a very good Javert I love him in this role

Anyway both of them have amazing voices so the Confrontation was very intense (or maybe it's just because it was the first time I saw it live ig)

Moving on but um. Lucie jones ??? Fantine ??? Like ma'am. Please. Your voice.

Literally I dreamed a dream ? So good. Made me tear up. If I am being honest I never cared for this song a lot but I can't even begin to explain how much I loved it here

Anyway she was definitely one of my favorite highlights of the show like yes queen

Also the factory scene was pretty great because I could finally know what was being said in the background- shoutout to whoever says "you bitch" to Fantine because I was not ready for that and the delivery was perfect

MADAME THÉNARDIER WAS AMAZING THANK YOU

Just- her mocking Cosette and her husband, the way she screams "COSETTE" when Thénardier messes up the name... Everything about her was so enjoyable I loved her

+ gotta love Thenardier just for the way he was sleeping and his head shot up when Valjean mentionned money for the first time

Also for being so funny in that moment after look down when Javert just comes to arrest them and he does his whole "may I go" act and then goes back to the policeman previously holding him and places the baton back on his neck I loved that for him

Anyway moving on to my favorite characters ever- tho actually I wasn't expecting to enjoy the beginning of the show that much but hey I did

Okay so Marius right ? If I'm being honest I had doubts about him, mostly because Ropert tripolino looked so much like a grantaire to me so I had a hard time picturing him as Marius but he was great

Very good at playing the part of the lovedstruck dumbass. Which is all it takes for me to like a Marius actually

No but also I loved his voice, maybe a bit shaky but it didn't strike me and I think it fit marius's character well so + it mixes really well with those of both Cosette and Eponine so that was cool, tho sometimes he was a bit drowned out by both of their voices but still.

The Gavroche actor was incredibly cute and funny I loved him so much- his mimicking javert was everything he is the best and must be protected at all cost

I'm doing this in no specific order so might come back to other things but I have said it before and will say it again... I don't like that little dance in one day more. It just kind of kills the vibe in my opinion because I find the dance rather funny but yeah

Anyway just because I have been dying to talk about him and he's all I've been thinking about for the past hours- shoutout to whoever was playing Grantaire. Like really. It was a cover so not sure who it was since I failed to look at the cast list (I wanna say ollie wray but I might be wrong) but oh my god. Sir. He ate it.

Everything about him was so great- I'll come back to him later just to pretend I'm keeping an order here (spoiler : I am not) but his part in Red and Black was incredibly funny it was just grantaire messing around and annoying Enjolras and I love that for him

Talking about Enjolras he was really good actually. I always have a moment of confusion when I see a brunette Enjolras just because I am not used to it but once I could actually focus on him he was very enjoyable

HAVE I TALKED ABOUT EPONINE YET BECAUSE I WANT TO TALK ABOUT EPONINE

She is. Really bitter I want to say. Like my brain isn't braining rn so I don't have words but she was rather sarcastic in a sad way. If that even makes sense. Anyway this attitude was great I loved everything about her

The whole part with Marius asking her for Cosette's adress just showed this and I really liked their dynamic it was exactly how I always imagined them to interact. Like Eponine obviously not being excited by this and Marius just blatantly missing every single cue

Point is I loved both of them

Okay just before I move on to the barricade's part which is all I wanna talk about, I am in love with this Cosette. That's it that's the post but lulu-mae has a beautiful voice, which again mixes really well with that of marius

Oh and also Marius trying to find a way to climb over the fence will never not be funny he's such an idiot I love him

Cue Eponine basically having to protect him while dealing with her own existential crisis- queen

ANYWAY

Actually moving on because this is getting long and I suck at ordering those notes but still

Firstly. Eponine singing On my own. I am actually not okay. She has such an amazing voice oml ??? 10/10 song I love her so much she made me tear up it was the best thing ever

So the barricade scenes

This is actually mostly me ranting about Grantaire and Gavroche because I literally missed a solid part of the barricade moment due to focusing on them

In my defense they were incredibly cute okay ? It's just the way Grantaire looks out for Gavroche and cares for him

And I love them so much I swear

Just two things before I just go on a full rant about them

1- A little fall of rain ?? Just Nathania Ong slaying all over again this was the saddest thing I heard her voice is just the best here

On the over hand this was one of the moment when Roberts voice seemed very much drowned out by hers but. She still carried the song. So it was very cool.

2- drink with me was so sad as well. Mostly because of grantaire. Again. Also I think it's always sad but seeing it live just made it worse- anyway it's just the way grantaire comes to feuilly's face to sing his verse. The way enjolras hugs him very tight when he's done. The way grantaire just pushes him away angrily and goes to stand in a corner. I am actually not okay about this

Also when Grantaire goes stand in a corner Gavroche comes to hug him from behind and he turns around to hug him back and that's basically where I lost it. Everyone was hugging all around but I was just looking at them because they were so cute okay bye

Sidenote but I still don't understand why the musical made Courfeyrac so angry and agressive- like the whole thing with Javert is kinda weird to me ? "Kill the bastard" is a good moment still just his cheering thing or whatever when valjean comes back- I am sorry but Courfeyrac would not do that like ever

Okay I already talked about bring him home and it slayed so yup

And anyway after this point I basically stopped looking at the barricade because I was just watching grantaire and gav so bear with me

During the attack grantaire just seats on a bench and does absolutely nothing. Just stares hopelessly into the void.

But after that there is the whole thing with ammunition and Gavroche volunteering

And okay first of all I really liked how everyone just zooms toward the barricade like Gavroche no- except then Gavroche is on the other side of the barricade right ? And nobody is moving. And you just have grantaire who gets up and starts walking slowly toward the barricade and it's absolutely agonizing

And after that Gavroche throws some ammunition to the guys and there is a short moment of victory- and then he gets shot and everything goes down from there

Enjolras gives his body to grantaire who is just below saying nothing. And it's utterly devastating.

Anyway after that Grantaire just kneels in a corner next to Gavroche's body

But when Marius gets shot him and Enjolras hug over marius's body and that was so sad

When Enjolras gets shot Grantaire just rushes on top of the barricade and starts screaming at the soldiers. And gets shot as well. And I did not know this happened I did not know Grantaire died after Enjolras I was not ready for this moment it destroyed me in so many ways

Anyway after that I basically zoned out because of what had just happened but what I can say is uh

I still don't like how javert's suicide is staged like it just looked to me like he was running backwards and the background was moving so. Yeah

Empty chairs at empty tables was- not the best. I liked the actor for all other moments but I just felt like his voice was kind of weak in this song ? It just didn't move me the way it usually does idk

Tho I still like how the women just laid candles down on the floor and then les amis arrive and pick them up

The Thénardier slaying again at the wedding <33

Ok so I was thinking about the fact every time the timeline changes Marty has to get to know a new doc bc even the smallest change could've altered him. And the Doc at the beginning of the aka the original is canonicly dead because he never got the latter bc Marty hadn't gone back in time yet. But according to the game at least (some people don't consider it canon but for this post I do) by 1986 they still have the DeLorean so Marty can still time travel by 1986. Just to get this out there I think we can all agree that time travel has not been the best thing in Marty's life, and has probably def taken a toll on his whole mental state. Not to mention even though he has a better life in the alternate timeline (aka his Dad's not a nerd and his mom doesn't drink I don't think) he KNOWS he had a original family that he left behind (lol What I Left Beind reference). So that was all to say at almost any point Marty could take the DeLorean and go back to before that night to try and regain his original life. Obv this isn't a fool proof plan bc he would still have all his memories of everything but just maybe he could get a tiny bit a therapy. But there also happens to be original Marty in this timeline. And while I was thinking abt this whole thing I realized, " wait, what if Marty killed the og version of himself to try and take his place and live a "normal" life?" So yeah that would be cool might write a fic abt it idk >:]

TLDR; What if there was an AU where Marty stole the DeLorean and went back to the original 1985 timeline to kill the og version of himself and take his place in attempt to live his original life again?

what's your theory on modern-day loumand, the state/dynamic of their relationship? obvs we can't take the 'love of my life' thing at face value, something's off. it looks to me like armand's altering louis' mood at times, kinda mentally 'sedating' him when he gets agitated, and i buy the idea that he's altered key areas of louis' memory too, though not with bad intentions per se. I don't think louis is a prisoner or that he's being forced into the interview, but the vibe's still very off.

Hey nonny! Ok, so... for that I need to expand on my thoughts a bit I think. Because imho it depends heavily on where we are in Modern Dubai.

So. Neither the Mayfair Witches, nor the Vampire Chronicles can do without the Talamasca (for a lot of reasons), and MF has already introduced Ciprien Grieve. For that reason alone, and the fact that Rolin Jones has mentioned TtotBT, I think David has to be... somewhere. (In fact one of the servants was given an explicit shot and that actor would fit well with the description. Just... an idea though.) We see Armand on the phone in the last episode, telling someone "not long now". I believe he refers to the interview, because most of what Louis may have wanted to tell is told (what Daniel now drags out of him may be a different story). Louis called the reason for the interview "truth and reconciliation" in episode 1... however that's probably only a part of it, and might not even refer to the interview itself. Season 2 will most certainly include some kind of... version (memory/reference/revival/resurrection) of the Devil's Minion (imho). And of course Paris, but there was this comment that season 2 would be a lot of "sitting and talking".

Back to David. David is a Candomble Priest in the books, and yes, he can conjure spirits, and use spells after turning. I don't think they actually need Merrick as a character for the story. In the book Merrick Louis wants to see Claudia's ghost. I talked about it why I think it fits so well, but this setting also pays a lot into a mixed Trinity Gate / St. Elisabeths / post Rue Royale setup.

Because after Merrick, the Talamasca make Lestat, David, Louis (and Merrick) leave Rue Royale.

Now, if you only twinge that setting just a bit, and mix it with the hideaways Armand creates with Louis while they live together for a long time... voilà. Imho.

And that, in return, says a lot about their relationship.

Louis and Armand have... settled. Lestat is somewhere in a coma. David and Louis are nice to each other, but David could never be anything Louis really needs. (I think it's David Armand is on the phone with). Louis is suffering, still, always, tortured by everything that happened. Armand is very aware that Louis is suicidal (and he addresses that, in the show), and that is why he says to David that he thinks Louis will try soon.

The time with Armand has dampened the pain somewhat, but with everything that's happened in the meantime... it just doesn't go away. Armand tries to alleviate the burden in his own... errr special way. Better to have Louis angry at Lestat than yearning, right. Better to feel the attempt to kill him was justified than not. Better to feel that he was right to escape. Better to feel that escaping feel good, than... not. Better to make Claudia seem cruel at times, than to make it hurt even worse than it already does. Better to make Louis calm down than let the pain break out.

I think there is a lot of love between Armand and Louis in Modern Dubai. I do think that Louis has forgiven Armand most of it (though he probably harbors some dark thoughts/feelings still)... there's one of Marius' paintings on the wall, there has been some kind of reconciliation, and so Louis got to know quite a lot as well, if only through the blood. The comment re the love of his life... that was for Daniel. Because Louis is trying to reconcile Armand and Daniel, imho. And no, I don't think Louis is a prisoner either. He is hiding away, away from the world. He is withdrawing. Dictating his will, his testament.

All this to say... I think Louis and Armand really care for each other a lot. Louis tries to reconcile Armand and Daniel, because he does intend to commit suicide, as Armand has hinted at. And Armand... actually tries to protect him. And doesn't quite know how.

Rudy's Book Reviews: You Will Get Through This Night by Daniel Howell

yeah thats right im gonna be a phannie on main for a second. this is the start of my book review series which i hope to actually folow through with lol. this one ive been listening to as an audiobook but i do have the physical copy as well cuz im like that! next review will hopefully be gideon the ninth so tune in for that, but for now, read this review under the cut:

this book is a practical mental health guide, honestly a lot of it is stuff that you can learn in therapy so like if you have a therapist that you like then maybe its not worth it BUT theres like slim pickins for mental health books that arent just anecdotal evidence without actually talking about what people did to help them get better, just "yea i was sad but then i got therapy ✌️" or books that are so couched in psychiatric jargon its hard for a layperson to get into OR just vaguely inspiring bullshit.

its all written with the help of an actual licensed psychologist person, so no bullshit, no just do yoga and drink water shit (although obviously exercise and hydration and physical health are talked about) and yes he mentions medication and LICENSED therapy if those end up being necessary steps to take with your mental health!!! which again, in the world of self help type books, tends to be rare advice which is DEPRESSING IN A DIFFERENT WAY LMAO.

ofc it should go without saying that a book can never be a replacement for therapy but Considering How The World Is, this book is good for like maybe stepping into learning some coping skills as well as figuring out a plan before, during, and after crisis mode. i would say the tone is more serious than humorous but dan puts a lot of his own natural snarky sarcasm stink all over this book which obv that can be a taste thing if youre not into brit sarcasm mode but as a One Of Those i like it lol

in terms of Dan And Phil™️-isms, theres a sprinkling of cute winks and nods and inside jokes that people who drew sharpie cat whiskers on their faces as teens would understand but Normies will not find to be out of place or anything, there's also some storytimes of like his previous tours or living as a dropout youtuber being stress-inducing and things like that but not a ton which i kinda prefer cuz it makes it easier for me to recommend this book to people who dont give a shit about Phandom Memes

theres an introduction which is kind of a short summary of who dan is, basically just summarizing his youtube videos talking about depression and when he came out as queer and all that fun stuff, if youre a psycho hardcore fan person like me you might find it to be a long and unnecessary read, but if youre someone who didnt know about this guy and are curious as to why he would even write a book like this its a pretty good synopsis.

the american cover has dan's stupid face on it, and as someone who is a big fan of dan's stupid beautiful face, i wish we had the EU version with like tasteful yellow stripes on it bc it looks so nice, but i mean i just keep it on my bookshelf with the spine showing which is just a nice yellow spine with the title and looks unassuming so its not THAT big a deal lmaoo.

in terms of the audiobook, dan's voice is quite soothing and there's all these like audio cues and fitting music which i really like. the only downside is, for example, he reads out this timed breathing exercise that is meant to be like a five minute exercise, but it's not actually timed? so like i want to do the breathing exercises along with him reading it out but he reads it so fast its kinda like bro slow down you said breathe in for five seconds why you going ahead two seconds later homie. thats my only criticism i think obv if you are reading it and not listening you can just do the exercises by timing yourself lol.

ummmm idk if im gonna give a number at the end of these reviews!!! i give this book a big thumbs up!! 👍 woohoo yeah baby i am very proud of dan's current life journey thing that he's going on and i think this is a great book for people who need help which is everyone alive today right now :)

playing through p5 royal for the first time and its quite bizarre how both great and mid all the new content manages to be,,, its overall positive enough to say its the definitive version and yet a lot of the new content is kinda lazy and shouldve been left out/reworked, not to mention it makes the game even easier than it already was but because of said easiness in the original, this almost isnt a bad thing cuz it just lets you go power crazy with getting overpowered which is kind of a step up from the original just being a bit unsatisfying with its amount of difficulty?

but then like phone conversations at the end of social links, about 80% of them add nothing of substance or even anything aesthetically fun and feel out of place and should just have not been put in the game, but at the same time the ones that do add are very welcomed

kasumi (so far no spoils pls) is rly bland personality wise and only gets weird specific quirks that feel too disconnected to rly give her a coherent vibe? which is both kind of an interesting design but also just devolves into every conversation being like "wow that was great senpai" with ren just saying a variation on "youre great kasumi :)" and idk it feels lazy to not have her have some noticeable flaw shes trying to work on like everyone else BUT shes also like the best romance option cuz of the sheer amount of 1 on 1 time her and joker get in the main story specifically no less, dr maruki is so far a fantastic character too with consistently some of the best philosophy the game brings up, literally questioning the existence and effectiveness of therapy, not to a meaningful political degree obvs but in the context of a dumb fun jrpg power fantasy adventure its super satisfying

and a lot of the new music is absolutely stellar,,, new op and battle theme are both weaker than the previous ones tho,,, theyre still pretty good mind you they just dont live up to the same standard and the fact that they take the spotlight away from the others feels a bit unnecessary and poor in design judgement, having both openings cycle the main menu wouldve been easy enough and take over would work perfectly as the regular battle theme with last surprise being the ambush theme (i mean it literally has 'surprise' in the title it feels like the way it shoulda been) but omg then dr. marukis theme absolutely fucks?? new mementos themes woulda been better if each one was less of a variation on the same thing but just more variety in general helps a lot there,,,, and holy fuck no more what ifs,,,, literally a vocals song that is just relegated to a hangout social spot??? lmao?? not even most of the time you go there either dkdhdjd and its like one of the best new tracks,,,, this is what i mean by everything being generally better but sloppily so,,,, just needed a lot of fat trimmed and some minor reworks im excited to get to the new palace i think thats really gonna decide whether this is better than the original or not for me

ok ok, enough screwing around. im gonna ramble a lil abt my version of fluffytale now.

so, iirc the original creator of fluffytale is black-nyanko here on tumblr, and the story mainly focuses on ccino sans, who owns and works at a cat cafe with lots of lil kitties that bear suspicious resemblances to various sanses across the multiverse. this is amazing and wonderful and i love it dearly. however. as always, i would also like to think about the other characters.

so uh. what if, in fluffytale, each of the main cast specialized in a different critter? maybe taking care of non-magical animals has become a tradition underground, perhaps because mundane animals are simply more common in fluffytale, perhaps as a direct fuck you to all the humans who thought monsters were inherently evil and heartless, perhaps just because hehe kity.

anyways. heres the guys

sans takes care of kitty cats, and has even opened a cat cafe. obvs. same as og fluffytale

papyrus takes care of dogs, and is always either really good or really bad at training them. if no one can get your dog to stop being a lil menace, bring it to paps! he might just be able to help. it might not LOOK like helping, but chances are after putting papyrus through the ringer, your dog will return to you much calmer and less likely to act out.

gaster.... has some stuff goin on in the og that im not fully up to speed on, but i think he also used to take care of dogs. in fact, so did sans, but he also has a soft spot for cats, and understands that dogs and cats dont always mix. besides, papyrus is more than capable of handling the dogs.

undyne specializes in reptiles of all kinds, but typically cares for snakes and lizards. especially lizards, although snakes tend to be more popular with others. she claims it's just because she understands how to take care of scaly things, since she herself has scales, but anyone who's seen her interact with the royal scientist knows better.

speaking of alphys, she doesnt specialize in any animal per se (partially because she feels like she cant really properly look after any living thing after what happened with the amalgams OOPS) but instead builds terrariums and other habitats! she mostly ends up building stuff for reptiles, but also for fish and amphibians. she'd have to ask for a friend's help to build a proper habitat for cats or dogs though- they tend to need a lot more space, and they certainly aren't her specialty.

mettaton isn't really much of a pets guy- or at least, that's what he tells you. but he is clearly interested in more exotic pets that are often more difficult to take care of of- obviously because they're so unique and glamorous. not because he has a soft spot for anything different. unless you're friends, of course, in which case he's very open about how interesting he finds rarer pets.

napstablook still takes care of snails. just thought id mention them.

toriel takes care of all sorts of small things, namely bugs! snails too, and worms and such, but mostly bugs. she just thinks theyre neat! and tasty! ....and, chara was also rather fond of bugs.

asgore didn't originally intend to specialize in any type of animal pet- he was rather busy with his flowers, after all. but gardens tend to attract bugs, and bugs tend to attract birds- and, well, he kinda realized how much he loves the feathery lil guys. and they make so much noise too, the house is never quiet anymore. he can't bring himself to change the house's layout, but he has added lots of little bird cages and stands and feeders and such in and around the royal house, and birds can often be seen flying in and out of the windows. if you're ever lost in new home, just look up - you will likely see a bird flying to or from the royal house, which is in the center of the city.

I strongly believe the show will cut off Rosamund and make Posy Sophie's half-sister instead of step-sister and that's why Benophie got delayed to s4, otherwise Sophie's family core (dead father, stepmother and half-sister) would be to similar to Kate's to have it back to back (not in personality obvs Mary Sharma/Sheffield is bae)

You know I'm 50/50 on that because part of the reason the Earl was so scummy was because his form of punishing Araminta for not giving him children was to force her to tolerate Sophie aka the living proof that the marital issue wasn't the Earl's fault

Araminta thought the Earl loved Sophie but at the end of AOFAG Sophie points out that if her father had loved her, he wouldn't have left her at Araminta's mercy. The true scummy act was that the Earl hated Araminta and ultimately wanted her to be reminded of her failure as a countess even after his death

all this wouldn't be that impactful if any of Aramitas daughters is also from the Earl. Because Araminta's failure isn't that she couldn't give the Earl a boy. It's that she couldn't give the Earl ANY children at all. Despite having Rosamund and Posey.

Them both having children but not with each other is the regency version of telling the man ' it's not that you're impotent it's just that your sperm doesn't really do it for me' Sophie's father must have been one unhappy and furious husband in the eyes of the ton.

Which is probably also the reason the Earl never made it public that he had a bastard and Sophie got away from that household with relative ease. Since revealing the Earl could father children would just draw attention to the fact that he couldn't get an heir from his wife. Who could also conceive children previous to marrying him.

So I think the storyline is worth mentioning, I hope they don't cut it off. I hope they do keep Rosamund and Posey. As both the step sister who dislikes her and the one who sympathizes with her.

I think Benophie was delayed because their storyline does actually carry a most of the historically accurate elements found in the Bridgerton books and it makes AOFAG harder to adapt since the show would have to outright explain to the viewer a lot of time period stuff that influenced the plot

unlike s1 to s3 which can be understood better by a modern audience without being too historically accurate. AOFAG touches topics like Regency england working class conditions, illegitimacy, the whole marrying down topic, the life of women when they were the mistress of a wealthy man and any potential children of theirs. Etc

And it's Julia Quinn okay she sugarcoats a lot of the time period details. I can't imagine how hard something actually historically accurate would be to adapt for Netflix...

Oh... Wait... persuasion.

Batch Update: Giganta, Abby Arcane, and Metamorpho (again)

I actually have a bunch written up for all three, but I got caught in a web of describing everyone’s weird interpersonal relationships and it was getting real long bc all of these people’s dating lives are insane

Anyway, I backtracked on Rex again and it’s a little hard to see on the belt, but he actually is on The Terrifics still, which I’m going for more of a Future Foundation instead of strictly F4.

Abby Arcane’s Avatar of Rot is just the “Black Queen” in canon (thanks Scott) so I wanted something a little punchier and went with “The Rotted Thing” instead. I also added a bit where Abby meets Alec before his death and they have an affair while both still involved with others partners, Matt and Linda, respectively. Linda’s actually super interesting because she gets fridged (later retconned to be along with Alec, obvs) in Swamp Thing’s origin and her whole character arc takes place in the afterlife, but she also went to school with Ivy bc ofc, and...idk, any other Linda Hollands out there, she lives in this AU and more on that later. Anyway, Abby eventually gets her own Avatar form from the Parliament of Decay, which is a less always chaotic evil force and more of an actual counterpart to the other parliaments.

Finally Giganta and a peek at Hermes. I mentioned earlier this was the rough draft version, so I’m still working out aspects, but I wanted to tie Doris to both Gorilla City and Themyscira. Which is great, bc you may have noticed really like combining powersets from different versions of the same character, you should see what I did to Piotr Rasputin in my Marvel AU, and I feel like Doris (Zuel being a mononym when she was a Gorilla City researcher and Doris being her chosen human name) is smart enough to both switch species and then discover size-changing. Also she’s specifically an Amazon instead of just a super-strong human, so she’s got a lot of the mystical capabilities of Amazons that get glossed over in favor of action scenes of vaguely Greco-Roman statuesque babes (thanks Zack).

Hermes is just the to complete the femcel!Knuckles joke by being her Sonic until I pick a better counterpart (maybe Jesse Quick?)

Summary: You spent one night with him five years ago. It changed your life, and now you get a chance to see him again.

Warnings: Mentions of sex (nothing super explicit, still +18 though), language. The thief isn't the nicest. Reader does crime. Alcohol mention (obvs lol). Something else? lmk!

Notes: Yes, I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Mama I'm in love with a criminal etc. This fic is sort of my version of what I think could have happened after @kesskirata's brilliant fic The Greatest Thief in the World. My fic is what that fic + watching the commercial inspired. This fic is separate from her work and you don't have to have read it to understand this, but I recommend you read it anyway!! I didn't use Spanish here, other than mentions of the nickname the thief gave reader in Kes' fic, because I don't speak it and didn't want anything sounding weird.

Canon is literally a wine commercial so this is just meant to be a fun little story. :D Also, as a person who refuses to even jaywalk, writing about thieves is quite something.

He had fucked you once.

It had been the best night of your life; no one else before or after that had compared to him. And you didn’t even know his name.

It wasn’t even just because of the fact that it had been the most thrilling, mind-blowing sex you’d ever had - it was the way he had made you feel completely free for the first time in your life. Free of your father’s iron grip control, free of expectations and constant judgement. Instead, he had made you feel free to act how you wanted - to be your own person.

He had judged you for being a daddy’s little princess, a spoiled rich girl with no real problems. But you hated your father, hated the lifestyle and arrogance and all the expectations that came with having a rich, high-profile man for a father. He didn’t care for you, he just wanted to control you, to make you fit his image.

That night with the thief had been a breath of fresh air for you. Sleeping with the man who had robbed your father’s safe and then fucked you against it (and on the office desk) had been the first push for you to start getting back at your father and wriggle out from beneath his thumb.

And even though the thief had told you not to think about him when he had left you, you did, like you had said you would. You thought of him when you touched yourself, thought of him every time your father and his associates got on your nerves…

And it was the thought of him that made you get into his line of business yourself.

You started small. Nicking an earring here, a bracelet there, moving up to wallets and necklaces. It was easy to do in all the events your father took you to, and you found that they were much more fun now that you had this new little mission to entertain you.

Eventually you started gaining confidence and skill, and even found yourself a mentor; an older woman called Ida who lived a very comfortable life by marrying rich people and stealing from them.

Ida taught you the basics of breaking into both apartments and safes, how to avoid and neutralize alarms, guards, and security cameras, how to plan in case something goes wrong, how to talk yourself in and out of situations. She obviously couldn’t hold a candle to the world’s greatest thief, but who could? She could, however, teach you valuable skills and lessons, and how to hone them and constantly keep getting better. You had even discovered that your youth as a gymnast wasn’t wasted, since your strength, coordination, and flexibility helped you a great deal when sneaking around.

No one learned the craft overnight, and it took you a long time to get to know the ins and outs, both with and without the help of your mentor. But after a while you started to really focus on certain targets instead of just nicking small items from whoever was convenient. You chose targets who had done terrible things with their money; awful, mean people, some of whom you had disliked since you were a little girl.

These marks you took were abusers and bigots who got away with their wrongdoings because they were rich. You despised them all and stealing from them was your way of righting their wrongs. You donated most of the money to different charities, especially to causes they were against, and it helped to give you a small sense of victory.

You didn’t need to keep much of your profits for yourself since you still had your father’s money - not that you didn’t steal from him, too, occasionally. But even with how much you disliked your father, you needed his connections; it was thanks to him you got into all the fancy events around the globe and knew who to target. You got the inner circle dirt on all of them and knew where to strike.

And you dreamed you would see the world’s greatest thief again someday, somewhere. You had not expected that to happen at a masquerade ball in Chile.

You were there as a guest, even though you had never met the hosts, because that was how things worked in these circles. You approached the event as a possibility to scout new targets, or new projects, as you liked to call them.

Maybe if you hadn’t spent the last five years dreaming about him you wouldn’t even have recognized him. But you still recalled the feeling of that soft hair in your fingertips, and the patchy beard visible beneath his mask. There was a bit more grey in his hair and beard, but it was unmistakably him.

This was interesting. Maybe now you could finally find out more about him.

“Excuse me, do you know who that man is?” you asked a local girl sitting next to you.

“Oh, him in the red velvet jacket? I don’t think anyone really knows him, but he owns a local wine business. Very popular.”

No way.

He owns a wine business? What the hell does he steal for then? He didn’t seem the type to be doing it to donate his winnings like you did.

Oh, you definitely needed to find out more now. But you needed to be discreet and careful to not raise suspicions. You counted on the fact that he wouldn’t recognize you with your mask on, seeing as you had changed a bit since he last saw you. And it had been years… Maybe he wouldn’t have remembered anyway. You tried not to let that get you down you too much. You had things to do.

And you did manage to find out more information. Valuable information indeed.

It was all too easy to get rich people to blab. Flirting, flattery, and flutes of champagne did the trick in many cases, and you learned that according to rumors he is quite wealthy and lives in a secluded mansion. No one was able to confirm these rumors, but you thought it fit his character at least.

So you went back to your hotel room that night with one thought. Finding that mansion. You wanted to see where he lived and what he did. Maybe even pay him a visit.

You had the means to do that now.

Lucky for you, it was easy to get information out of poor people, too. A few bribes and a couple of favors from trusted contacts, and you were pretty sure you had gotten the whereabouts of the mansion. Your contacts and scouting had been done through local cleaning businesses because you knew that if he really lived in a giant mansion, he would not be able to manage it all by himself - there had to be staff. You had a good laugh thinking about him mopping the floors of some big ballroom by himself.

You couldn’t check your hypothesis on the exact location of his mansion because it was nowhere to be seen on Google Earth. That didn’t discourage you, however. You thought it likely he had paid people to hide it.

You devised a plan to go and scout the place, and if you found it, you would try to get in.

The mansion was bigger than you had thought. And you had seen plenty of impressive mansions in your life.

The place was surrounded by trees, providing a very secluded and an oddly calming feeling. There was light streaming from the tall windows of the top floor, which suited you perfectly; it was likely that he was upstairs and wouldn’t notice you sneaking in through the kitchen entrance. The door was locked of course, but you had no trouble picking it open.

He should really update his security, you thought, as you crept quietly along a hallway out of the kitchens. There were no guards to be seen anywhere, and you didn’t spot any security cameras either, although you still moved very carefully and tried to avoid points where security cameras could be hidden.

There was a door ajar on your left, piquing your interest. As carefully as you could, you entered the room.

It looked like a sitting room, with couches and a couple of bookshelves, a telescope next to a window, and a big, beautiful fireplace. He seemed to really like art - there were paintings, sculptures, and other pretty things everywhere. You walked forward to a liquor cabinet that had two wine glasses and a bottle on top of it. You smirked as you grabbed the bottle, recognizing it as your favorite chardonnay, and thought you’d have a drink on the house. How fun would that be, drinking a glass of wine in front of the fireplace in the thief’s house without him even knowing you were there. It was thrilling and exciting you; worth breaking in even just for that.

You were just about to take a sip when you heard a voice behind you.

“You would dare steal from the devil, bebita?”

Ok so I haven't actually watched miraculous in a while mainly because I dislike the show so I did the only reasonable thing and made a better version of it in my head!

Idk how many people ship tikki/plagg and idc. I always imagined kwamis being able to shapeshift into other forms as well such as: human form and animal.

1. E.G tikki as a human would be red-headed w freckles and black eyes and as an animal (in this case insect) it would be a ladybug. Same for plagg, he would have black hair and bright green cat eyes.

2. I imagine them as to having lives before the miracle box. Where kwamis would fight in wars and rule civilizations. Where plagg and tikki weren't the first kwamis of creation and destruction but rather they had predecessors who created them.

3. Become I am a weak and simple woman they obviously need to have an enemies to lovers story where - here two scenarios play out - scenario one: tikki is a spy for her kingdom and makes plagg (commander and king of the opposing kingdom's armies) trust her. Scenario two: Tikki is a commander and queen of kingdom A's armies and Plagg is commander and king of kingdom B's armies. And both kingdoms are at war with each other. Hope that made sense?

4. They get married obviously after lots of intense making out and knives to throats they become everyone's power couple.

5. And respective to the fact that they are the two most powerful miraculous they bring together the two kingdoms of kwamis and humans and everything goes great.

6. Except because there are humans involved everything goes sideways. Why? You may ask. Because it's humanity, everything goes sideways with humanity. So as a final resort Tikki creates the miracle box where she has a place for all the kwamis we see in the show I.E. her court/closest allies/bff's etc.

7. In this version, all miraculous jewellery present themselves as rings (shaped like chat noir's ring) or golden bracelets. Something inconspicuous and not noticeable.

8. Tikki and Plagg can only see each other in the miracle box because their miraculouses were never used at the same time that often until Marinette and Adrien so once every week they sneak out in their human forms ( they can fly obv I'm not a savage) to go see each other.

9. The reason they aren't in their human forms that much is because they can be seen on camera when they're in them and adults shadowing high school teens tends to get a LITLLE suspicious.

10. Marinette and Adrien are aware that they're kwamis are married and in love, unfortunately this only contributes to Adrien's obsessive need to get ladybug to love him because "tHeyRe SoULmaTes".

11. When the other guardian (Grandmaster Shu-Han? Please correct me if I said his name wrong) comes in. After the whole drama of him trying to take the miracle box he decides to be a better mentor than Fu and teaches the kids how to fight, adapt, deal with the trauma of seeing mass destruction every other day, and shield themselves against akumas. He even lets Marinette keep the miracle box as long as she's responsible with it. But when Mari realizes she can remotely summon the miraculous she gives it to him for safekeeping. (Obviously not like how Fu did bc she needs her memories, sorta like he's borrowing it for a while. Also Shu-Han totally has a soft spot for the kwamis).

12. At one point Shu-Han initiates a swapping of miraculous for one month. So Plagg stays with Marinette while Tikki stays with Adrien. For obvious reasons neither kwami can talk about their actual holders.

13. Also did I mention all their outfits are more or less the same? Everything black. Black pants, shirt, vests, coats/jackets, hoods, masks (two types of masks: domino ones around their eyes or if they want ones that cover their mouth but leave their eyes open). The main inspiration for this was Inej Ghafa from the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo and the Shadow and Bone show on Netflix.

14. After excessive training with Grandmaster Shu-Han marinette's weapons change to match her combat prowess. Her main weapons are knives and bow/arrows whereas Chat still uses his staff but it can also turn into a spear.

15. Lukanette or Marigami is cannon. Why? Because I said so.

So this was just a tiny snapshot of what mlb fanfiction would look like if I had the talent, energy and skill to write it. Your thoughts are always welcome! :)

okay this got stupidly long bcus i just decided to spell out this story's entire backstory and subsequently the plotline, i'm putting this under a cut fjdsalkf

honestly the placeholder titles says a lot fjkladsf basically when i was younger i uh. really liked little mermaid aus lmao (the og of this one is one of at least three i wrote in a very narrow timespan). so for a creative writing class i turned in a little mermaid "retelling" of sorts where the witch, who is quite new at being a sea witch, gets approached by one of the mermaid princesses (obv. this is a little mermaid au) about turning human after the princess has a prophetic dream and the witch feels bad about just thrusting this princess who is clearly in over her head into a world she knows little about (esp bcus, as i am reminded of rereading the original version of this, it's kind of implied that the merpeople who try to become human usually just like, die). also, magic is fucking expensive

so they work out a system to basically give the princess like... baby steps? like she first gets the ability to withstand the sunlight, and then she gives up the webs between her fingers, and then the ability to withstand cold, etc etc. and this takes place over a few month so of course they fall in love. the princess gets legs for three days, comes back and waits a while, decides she wants to be a human full time, and the witch is like "that requires true love and that's not really easy to find, you barely know any humans and you can't guarantee that they even know how to magic like that" and of course, bcus this is a little mermaid story, the princess is like "no no it's fine, this girl loves me, give me three days"

spoiler alert: the human does not know how to do that, and also has acquired a new partner in the meantime bcus the mermaid princess disappears for weeks on end and like, they're friends, but -- and so on. but the witch had a plan bcus she can see the future (you have probably guessed who was who by now but if not there's the answer) and she knew that the human plan wasn't going to work out. so she basically turns herself and the princess human permanently, turns over the rest of her sea witch power to her brother, and wow it turns out the dream was about them the whole time! so they dance on the sand and kiss about it

anyway i turned that in for an assignment but it was a rosemary fanfic in disguise and i was like. hey you know what. i'm probably a better writer now than i was in 2015 and i can just write homestuck fanfiction. so i decided to rewrite it as a more in-depth au and now it's about kanaya being one of a handful of mermaid royal heirs (rereading it, also being an heir appears to be a job, bcus she mentions her family sending her letters and that not all of the heirs have families who can send them letters). also the mermaid kingdom is prospit, this is important for later

so now kanaya is like, haunted by the sensation that something is missing from her life and spends a lot of time staring into the abyss that surrounds the castle they live in that is rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of a lost neighboring kingdom bcus she's not that close to being in line for a proper throne seat and one can only get by on cool job descriptions and fashion designing for so long. i know i infodumped to someone about the lore about mertrolls and my future ideas for it but i can't find it, anyway magic happens, kanaya finds rose (and dave, they're both one "half" of a sea witch. there is a secret second document for this one called "the davekat side of that rosemary au"), same kind of idea of "being a human is actually super overwhelming, do you want a trial run first???" over the course of a few months, they grow closer, humans don't know how to do magic and so rose comes in and is like "hey i don't want you to die actually." i think i was planning on there being a little more conversation about that back up plan. if i can find the time i just rambled to someone about the plot line and the politics of the merkingdom i will come back to add that on bcus i remember there being some weird political background stuff bcus mertrolls and merpeople had a trade-off system of heirs and i can feel the place it was in my brain but not the details
