One of the most insane kinds of people on the internet has to be swifties that hate on Joe Alwyn ‘cause that man did nothing wrong and just wanted a private relationship (and was also depressed and didn’t want to marry her YET) but somehow they always manage to find the most stupid excuse in the book to bully him and make him seem like a bad person lmao

My love for MJ aside, speaking purely as someone who is looking into all the accusations against him and trying to be as unbiased as possible, it's CRAZY how the fans are labeled as being "in denial about the truth" when they are clearly correct in saying there's more than enough proof of his innocence.
Literally EVERYTHING is on Michael's side: eye-witnesses, videos, recorded phone calls, documents, and well-over a decade of FBI investigations, all of which contradict every single part of the stories about the supposed child abuse.
The proof of his innocence goes from "The pictures police took of Michael's genitals did not match the description the kid provided" to "This family that claims Michael kidnapped them and forced them to sell all their stuff, including their house, so they'd be dependent on him was confirmed to be lying since they still owned all the things they said they were forced to sell", all the way to "Michael wasn't even in the same country as the supposed victim at the time, and in fact, the very ROOM in which the the abuse allegedly happened did not even exist yet"
Not to mention proof that first "victim" (Jordan Chandler) was coerced by his abusive father into accusing Michael, that the family of the second "victim" (Gavin Arvizo) already having a history of scams that included lying about sexual abuse, and the Leaving Neverland documentary (that talks about the alledged abuse of James Safechuck and Wade Robson) was discovered to be copying an erotic book written by a confessed pedophile that wanted to share his fantasies about Michael abusing children.
Meanwhile all the people who say he was guilty have as proof is "Well, I saw an interview with the pedo that wrote that pornographic book and assumed it was true" or "I heard on a TV show 30 years ago that he was guilty and paid hush money to the victims and never checked that the investigation was still going and that the boy was even allowed to testify in court if he wanted to" or "This maid that was fired for stealing stuff from Michael's home claims she saw him molesting Jordan Chandler in Neverland - even though Jordan says he was abused during the tour, not in Neverland, so even if you were to believe his story you'd still have to assume this woman is lying."
It really is no wonder the 1993 and 2013 allegations did not even managed to get a proper trial with how little there was to work with, and the 2005 one led to Michael being found innocent of all charges in record time - I strongly suspect that if it wasn't for the former case, it wouldn't even have made it to court in the first place either with how nonsensical it was.

earlier this year i remember all the cc fans on here shutting down their accounts when they tried to spin the racism bit on her or they just unstanned i think i was following you at the time and you said something like you were just gonna step away or just not post about her till she cleared it up. do you mind me asking what convinced you to go back to posting her soon after when everyone was like still scared to for whatever reason. i love your account and cc i’m just curious and always admired that you didn’t let it sway you like it did others.
hi anon!
yes I do remember posting that I'll be limiting my posts to only posting about her when it's related to Kate. I guess I kind of fell into the trap of blindly believing what everyone else was saying at first, forgetting that opinions are different from fact. The fact is, Caitlin seems like someone who isn't performative in any way– on and off the court. People will say whatever they want on social media, make assumptions on the kind of person she is, ask her to change her attitude and body language, but she's just not that kind of person. She seems like she would never bend her back to satisfy people. She's does not seem like a people pleaser. She's sometimes selfish on the ball, she'll stand toe to toe with her coaches, punch a chair etc etc. And no matter how many times people will call her out for it, she just does not give a shit. She WILL punch that chair.
We'll probably never see her call out her trolls on social media or during post-game pressers. Even when that fan was crossing the line during the game and allowed to walk back to his seat with barely a warning, she said nothing– not during the presser and not on social media. She said she wants to keep her head down and hoop and that's all she's going to do.
However, we seen that it doesn't mean she doesn't actively try to fix issues she can control. For example, when they made that doc-series following her final year at Iowa, she proposed that they invite Kamilla and Kiki to feature alongside her, even though it was originally just going to be about her. And as a result of the success of the documentary-series, I heard they're looking to do a feature on a new set of college players the following season!
Around the time when the Sheryl Swoopes incident happened, and there were all these outrageous allegations that Swoopes "hated" her, she went on SNL to praise her (along with her other basketball idols) as part of her segment when the focus was on her being the #1 pick. People said "well it's scripted" no shit. It's snl, not a good morning america interview. The point is, she could've made it all about her, all about this big moment in her career but she choose to shine the spotlight on the players that came before her.
When there were all this talk about CC not being a good teammate during the first few weeks of the season, Aliyah mentioned during a presser that CC was a good supportive teammate in the locker room– where it actually matters. Caitlin didn't like a post or send a tweet for the sake of showing it on social media to prove a point.
Then we found out the other day that Caitlin tried to implement a spot bonus for benefit of all the players in the league. For context: a spot bonus is a one-time monetary incentive that's given to employees as a result of extraordinary performance; which, in this case, would be the staggering attendance metrics at the games Indiana played — despite the attendance being mostly due to her (fever has the most games with the highest attendance record x). She said ALL OF US WILL BE GETTING FED ON MY WATCH.
Caitlin has stated multiple times that she doesn't seek validation from others outside of her circle, and that's something that I think resinated with me because back then I wanted to blindly follow whatever the big accounts in this community were saying. Don't be a sheep, folks.
also, she's a really good basketball player and im gonna celebrate that :)

Could you do one where gavi talks about y/n on the new season of barca a new era?
Su inspiración
Tumblr media
You were cuddled up to Pablo watching the first episode of the new season of the Barça Documentary you were so excited about.
"Es tan cursi amor!" he whined but you sushed him wanting to hear every word especially the scenes you saw his happy face.
You knew Pablo wasn't big on "fame" but you were so proud of him and wanted to rewatch all his scenes over and over again. You didn't expect him mentioning you, so when he did in one of the scenes you felt your cheeks blushing bright red.
In the movie:
"Bueno, Gavi. Who would you say inspires you the most to improve every day?" interviewer asked Pablo who was smiling in the camera.
"Bueno, obviously all the people I work with daily are important but one person that inspires me to remain focused and patient with my progress is my girlfriend. I would come home exhausted after a bad game or training session and she would always remind me to remain focused on improving" he explained with a blushed cheek.
"It's so important to have that support system at home, isn't it?" was another question which made Pablo smile while nodding his head.
"She's really always there when I need her that sometimes I fell like a bother. But if she heard me say that now, she would hit my head and tell me to shut up" Pablo said laughing with the interviewer while at the same time you were giggling in his arms.
"There were a few moments of you dedicating your goals to her? Is that your way of saying thank you?" came another question
"All my goals are dedicated to her and she knows that. I say thank you by treating her right and showing her love but goals are a bonus as well" he giggled at the last part thinking about your at those stands in his jersey. It always made his heart melt.
"I'm sure she appreciates it. Thank you Gavi!" the lady said and they moved on to interviewing another player. The same moment you paused the show turning around in Pablo's arms.
"Have I told you how special you are amor?" you ask and he smiled nodding his head and leaning closer until you finally kissed his lips lovingly.
"So are you princesa. I couldn't do it all without you in my corner" he said and you smiled nodding your head while leaving a few kisses all over his handsome face.
"I'll always be in your corner amorcito" you say after a few moments of showering him in kisses and he smiles brightly kissing your forehead.
"I might have mentioned you a few times this season.." he says and your eyes open before you quickly clicked resume impatient to see all of those scenes now!!
Another scene was Pablo in the training session playing around with his teammates before scoring an amazing goal.
"Who's this for chaval!?" Araujo "fake interviewed" him and Pablo winked into the camera touching his heart.
"Para mi amor!!!" he said before the boys chuckled joining beck the training session and you blushed bright red hearing Pablo's teasing chuckle.
Another one came when boys were in the dressing room after the game and they hid Pablo's phone making him run after each other in frustration.
"So he always face times his girl after a win and now he's frustrated that he can't.." Ferran said to camera before Pablo ran after him angrily.
"Give me back my phone cabrón!" was heart at the end of the scene and you both laughed.
And the last one was when Pablo showed his lock screen to the camera after they won la liga trophy sending a big kiss. The photo on his phone is below :)
Tumblr media
"You really did mention me a lot amorcito.." you say after finishing the entire season in one sitting and he giggled nodding his head and kissing your lips.
"Porque te amo princesita.." he said and you blushed kissing him again deeper while slowly straddling his lap and his hands held your hips strongly.
"Tabien te amo" you say and he smirks nodding his head stnading up with you in his arms carrying you towards the bedroom ;))

I always interpreted evermore as a song about depression, I never linked it to Kaylor, can you tell me your view on this song?
dang i had a conversation about this with someone several months ago but i can’t find it. ill give you the abridged version. firstly, i think it can be about both! because the situation got depressing there for a hot minute!!
taylor said in an interview with zane lowe for apple music that she had written the song when the election was upon us and she didn't know what was going to happen. evermore the album was released in december 2020, which suggests that she wrote it pretty close to the release date, but also had time to reflect on what she knew to be true before releasing it— that trump wouldn’t win reelection. there’s a billboard article where she talks about the moment she learned biden won and i think it meshes really well with how evermore concludes thematically and emotionally.
when we think about the impact that trump being elected had on kaylor back in 2016–throwing a birthday party for lorde only days before the 2016 general election and wearing the vsfs angel wing ring in public for the first time, and that picture of them both kissing lorde on the cheek, going from that to at once enacting a love blackout and never being seen regularly in public again (the next time being rep tour 2018)— and on top of that, them going out of their way to separate themselves in the media via the creation of a “feud” during 2017 (swish swish, sushigate, etcetera) which pitted karlie with katy perry and kanye and cast her as someone for swifties to hate, guilty by association, we can imagine the weight and sadness of this chapter in their story. this is the start of the pain. this choice (i consider it a choice), to take the battle underground, sunk kaylor little by little into the world of the improbable for any casual observer. and it also put somewhat of a hex on karlie indefinitely, and for as brave of a soldier as she is, its an awful long while to be put in jail for something you didn’t do.
with these details as the background, i consider evermore to be a song chiefly about 2019 onward, though you might also position some of the date markers in the song within a sort of 2016/2017 focused timeframe. personally though i tend to think that 2019 events work just as well and operate under similar themes. for example, “hey november i’ve been down since july” could be in reference to the period of time where it became slowly more clear that the 2016 election results might not be a non-starter. or, it could reference the day after the masters sale (which was end of june 2019) and the theorized “failed coming out” that many expected her to do at the new york city pride parade that week. this followed by november, the conclusion of editing Miss Americana which would be released the following month (“motion capture put me in a bad light”) or alternatively november 2020, the point at which she is writing this song. there’s also an lsk theory that taylor and karlie were broken up from july to november 2019 but im not so versed in that so i’ll just keep it to a mention.
in any case, “hey december” can circle back to miss americana being released, not as a coming out documentary but as a “political coming out” documentary. hence the “can’t remember what i used to fight for.”
or it could be both, in a way. for example rewinding the tape but all it does is pause on the very moment all was lost could be both the rewinding of the miss americana documentary released in 2019, and/or perhaps conceptually the idea of the 2016 election night footage being rewound by everyone in the disbelief that occured the night that “all was lost”
because all was lost that night, in a way, no?
i tend to see justin vernon’s part as being a depiction of karlie after kaylor was exiled to a new level post the masters sale. i don’t mean this to say they were broken up. it’s just that they had to do a factory reset on a lot of the progress that had been made up until that point, and they would not be seen together (in order to accomplish some vigilante shit, is what i think anyway). back to justin vernon’s lines. it just reminded me deeply of all the hate karlie got that summer. and indeed, all the hate she had accrued until then. whether summer or winter, this feuding arc had put karlie in a position that i would argue was growing unbearable and incessant. “out on waves im being tossed, is there a line that i could just go cross?” referring to the latest wave of said hate. in this scenario, “can’t not think of all the cost and the things that would be lost oh can’t we just get a pause to be certain we’ll be tall again?” seems like karlie calling out to taylor, amidst the haze and confusion of the masters sale, think about everything that we would be giving up if you don’t come out right now. (think of me.). and then upon that line leading nowhere saying hey let’s pause before we hurt each other, to be certain we will make it through. here “tall again” reminds me of paper rings “standing here so tall”
so what of the ending? well, as a time marker i would once again refer to when the song was released, post-2020 election, where taylor saw that trump had lost and they would have a path forward. …covid-19 was yet to happen of course, and with that i think there were life priority shifts, but i just see evermore as a song that covers taylor and karlie seeing a light at the end of the tunnel that had been their love lockdown to love blackout to exile story. its a song that encompasses so much hope and i just really really really love it as a kaylor song because of the specificity with which you can tie it to their story, specifically a more contemporary chapter, the likes of which we hadn’t had too many songs depicting up until that point (basically just peace/hoax/the lakes).
so yeah that’s why it’s a kaylor song to me 🫶

I had gotten that Michael J. Fox "Rolling Stone" a while ago, and I recently acquired another magazine with an interview with him. It's the January 1988 edition of "Interview."
Here it is in its special plastic pouch. It also arrived carefully packed in three of those sturdy, flat cardboard boxes to ensure it arrived without damage. I was opening it and just kept finding more packaging with every layer of tape I cut through, lol.
Tumblr media
First of all, this magazine is huge. Here it is next to a regular-sized magazine (Also featuring MJF that I picked up at the checkout line at a grocery store a few months ago)
Tumblr media
Some highlights from the interview, along with several pictures I'd never seen before:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The interviewer mentions being enthusiastically greeted by Michael's dog, Burnaby, before the two of them lead the way through the house. He writes, "I followed as the two pranced down the hall. One of them let out a bark."
Tumblr media
I'm telling you. Almost every interview with Michael from the 80s mentions that he would spontaneously get up and just start "bopping" around the room, pacing, sitting in different places, etc. There was an old interview with Meredith Baxter (Elyse on Family Ties) who was talking about Michael and said something along the lines of, "I love that boy, but he just doesn't slow down for a second. He's always in a whirlwind of motion." And she goes on to say that he's always buzzing around wildly on the set and mentions a moment when he excitedly presented her with Christmas gifts that were all unwrapped because he couldn't be bothered to sit still long enough to wrap them.
Makes me think of how, in his new documentary, Still, he mentions how he was never able to stay still. This is very much evident in all these interviews!
Michael, on his perception of himself: "I've always thought of myself as small. Geeky. Ferretlike." What a description.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can't help but wonder exactly what point of the show that was, where that happened to him.
Tumblr media
One of my favorite photos of him! I'd never known where it was from and had also never seen the full image.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was a very neat find and addition to my collection.

Since Groundhog Day was yesterday, it made me think of Clexa in a similar situation to the movie. Except it’s Valentine’s Day and Clarke is a jaded news producer, who really just wants to work on her documentaries and create something “real” unlike all the puff pieces her news station forces her to produce. And Lexa is the on camera journalist who actually enjoys any opportunity to talk to people and have insight into other peoples lives, although she does wish for more hard hitting investigative stories, the puff pieces are kinda fun. So the two find themselves working together on a new piece for Valentine’s Day in the nearby city known for their extravagant Valentines celebrations. Lexa is enjoying herself in the festivities and getting some great interviews but Clarke can’t wait for the day to be over, as soon as they’re done she’s packing up her stuff and heading back home. But nature has a different idea and an unexpected storm has them trapped this lovey dovey town for another day. Of course another day never happens because Clarke keeps waking up to another reliving of Valentine’s Day. Over and over. She doesn’t know what to do or how to make it stop, so she actually starts to get to know Lexa and starts to find how much they have in common but any progress she makes is cut off at the end of the day. What does she have to do to make this day end?
Dude ok so I have thought about this
Because if you look it up it says that in the movie overall he spent OVER 33 years trapped in that cycle
33 years.
Can you imagine Clarke, the biggest anti-Cupid's Day Grinch (as Lexa says, excuse her mixed monikers), trapped not only in the same day in this same town in this same gd hotel, but it's on the one day a year she initially said she hated and held great disdain for???
33 years spent feeling her very one-sighted heart shift and soften and evolve. Not to mention, 33 years slowly falling in love with Lexa, the very woman she had initially felt so bland - if not contemptuous - toward. 33 years spent just learning everything there is about her. Learning all of her little quirks. Memorizing her favorite foods, her favorite books, her favorite words and knowing which ones make her grin in unexpected delight. Learning how to make her smile. Or frown. Or scrunch up her little red nose in the dying cold of Spring. Memorizing what makes this woman blush, or get angry. Sometimes beg, when she's lucky and it's a particularly good version of the day.
It doesn't actually take 33 years, obviously. She fell in love with Lexa way before that, because honestly, how could she not. But fuck, there Clarke is. Stuck in this hell place, hopelessly in love with this women who she knows everything about, who if they could just get the fuck out of this day she would marry in a minute, who has held her and made love to her more times than she can count, who she has fought with and been humiliated byand chastised and made laugh, who is the first person to really make Clarke feel alive... and yet most days Lexa can barely even remember Clarke's last name. She's just Clarke again. The Grinch who doesn't believe in love and hates everything about Valentine's Day.
So many nights they fall asleep together Lexa's bed because Clarke insists. Clarke sighing into the feel of holding her just like an old wife, Lexa squirming with the excitement of a new and unexpected adventure in her love life.
And every morning they wake up across the hall from each other as nothing more than casual workmates.

Interview: Ellen Evans, co-owner of Earth Burger
For a decade now, San Antonio-based Earth Burger has been pioneering plant-based food at their flagship burger stand, located near Loop 410 and Blanco in the Park North shopping center. The key to their success? It’s freaking delicious, from the crispy fries to the signature Earth Burger, which has a flavor profile that pleased even my meat-and-potatoes father! Earlier this summer I took a few minutes after our meal to chat with Ellen Evans, “Director of Community Love” at Earth Burger. She also happens to be one of the two founders of the company, along with her husband Paul, and chef Mike Behrend, who also creates the delicious dishes at  Green Vegetarian Cuisine. Our interview below has been lightly edited for length and clarity. Read on to learn more about how going plant-based for even a day a week can be beneficial to both you, and the planet!
Tumblr media
Nathan Cone: When you started this, what were you hoping for?
Ellen Evans: We really wanted a place where we could stop and get the kids something to eat quickly, because between the time we'd opened Green to Earth Burger, we had started families. So our children are the main reason we opened Earth Burger.
Has that been borne out by the clientele that comes in, [has it been families]?
The clientele really amazes me, because really it's all demographics, from young to young kids to grandparents, seniors, all ethnicities, everyone seems to have embraced Earth Burger, not just one demographic.
What kind of feedback do you get?
The people who are trying us are the… I would say that they're the cuisine curious, you know? They want to try it for the first time. Maybe they just want to eliminate meat one day out of the week. Obviously, we do have a captured audience with the plant-based and vegetarian community in town, but for those who try us for the first time, they're just amazed at just the flavors and the creativity that we've created at Earth Burger and we've really been a model to the rest of the nation when it comes to fast food, plant-based.
I saw at one point that there was a there were franchise options…
Yes, most definitely. All markets right now are available for franchising. Though, some states have tighter franchising rules, so it's a little bit harder to get in there. But right now, the Texas market is wide open.
There are a lot of documentaries and articles about different segments of the population that are embracing plant-based diets. And they may not be thinking of it in terms of, like, “I'm eating plant-based” but there was, like, an article at NPR a couple of years ago about the Latino audience, and their favorable response to plant based [food]. There was that documentary “The Invisible Vegan” a few years ago about the Black community in New York. It's interesting that that's out there.
Whenever a new documentary comes out, whether it's “The Game Changers,” it's “Forks Over Knives,” et cetera, that always creates a new ground swell of new customer base who want to try and change their diet and just try and eat a little bit more healthfully… I do not claim that our food is healthy, but it is a “better for you” option than your next fast food restaurant around the corner, and it does take up less of a footprint on the planet when it comes to emissions and whatnot.
Tumblr media
And how about flavors that you're looking at in terms of… what are you developing?
You know, our flavor profile is really where it's at. That's where we stand out. There's other places around the state that opened up plant-based burger stands and whatnot. But really, we've put so much thought and care into our home curated sauces and how we prepare our burgers that we stand out as as really a winner. And you can just look at our reviews and see that. Our goal has always been to provide really tasty, flavorful food that has always just been plant-based.
Anything that we didn't talk about that you think you want to mention?
We would not have made it for 10 years without our customer base and without the support of San Antonio. So I would just like to thank everyone, even if you've only tried Earth Burger once, just thank you for putting your faith in us and your support in us, for us to represent you.

'...I fucked up two daughters...'
Switching a chapter to Daniel's POV is doing wonders for my writing motivation, plus playing with canon is always fun. I didn't expect a storyline from The Vampire Armand to show up in my head but here we go. I'm hoping to have the chapter up in a day or two; here's a scene with Daniel and his daughter, Kate.
***
“A few messages before I go,” Maia handed him his iPad. “Your daughter called again. Kate said to tell you specifically that if you keep avoiding her she’s going to give a tell all interview to Megyn Kelly. She wants to hear from you tonight;  she doesn’t care how late,” she grinned at his look of undisguised horror.
“Megyn Kelly?” He didn't try to hide his disgust. God, Kate was absolutely diabolical.
“I’d do it if I were you. She said she had one finger on speed dial. Also Dan Rather called again. Said you need to stop fucking around and schedule a sit down with him. He wants me to remind you that -”
“I owe him. Yeah. Not wrong, I’m working on it,” he reached out for the printout she had lying on the counter. “Is this my schedule for tomorrow evening?”
“Yep. Pretty jam packed. Too bad we can’t shift some things to daytime hours,” Maia smiled a little too brightly.
“I told you. I gotta match Lestat’s schedule when the tour kicks into gear, or I’m never going to get any footage for the documentary. Might as well try to change my sleeping schedule now, right?”
“Of course,” Maia’s placid smile wasn’t fooling him at all.
After Maia left, Daniel sat down on the counter to drink his coffee. Before he perused his schedule, he picked up the phone and with a deep breath, dialed Kate’s number.
“Dad!”
“Hey sweetheart!  How are you?”
“Absolutely pissed that you’ve been ducking my calls for the past year, that’s how I’ve been,” Kate was never one to beat around the bush. It was one of his favorite qualities about his eldest.
“I know. I’ve been busy with the books and the media blitz has been crazy. I’m sorry, kid. I was thinking of you though. Have you been getting the deliveries and the-”
“Yes, Dad. We got the new SUV. The vacation packages. The college accounts and trust funds you’ve set up for the kids, not to mention their Christmas shopping spree to Harrod’s. And I don’t know if it’s your new assistant’s doing or not, but I’ve been quite impressed with that fact that you’ve remembered the girls’ names for the first time ever and actually seem to know how old they are and what hobbies they’re into. It’s nice. But what I really need is for you to show the fuck up. You owe me a hell of a lot of explanation about what's going on with you.”
“OK, look, I’ll talk to Maia about scheduling-”
“Whatever,” Kate sounded more resigned than angry. “We’ll circle back to that. Right now, we need to talk about Sybelle.”
“Sybelle,” Daniel said the name of his youngest daughter quietly. “I just spoke to her doctor yesterday. He said she’s doing as well as can be expected, considering her condition, but no real improvement.”
“Yeah, same thing he tells us every month. Fox isn’t letting us see her anymore.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Ryan and I haven’t been able to visit Sybelle for two months now. Fox won’t let us any more. He says the visits are making her worse. That’s absolute bullshit. She loves seeing the kids. I don’t trust him, Dad. And I think he’s paying off Dr. Reeves. That guy says the most generic bullshit whenever I talk to him. He just parrots whatever Fox wants in therapy speak. Can’t answer a specific question, it’s like he’s never actually been to see her. I finally threatened to call the cops and since then Fox has let me talk to her on the phone sometimes but she sounds out of it.”
“Well, honey, this is Sybelle we’re talking about.”
“Shut the fuck up!” he was not prepared for the near scream from his normally tightly controlled daughter. “I’m telling you something is wrong! I’m telling you we need you! Are you going to listen for once? Because I swear to God, if you put me and Sybelle on the bottom of your to-do stack again, this is it. You’ll be dead to me from here on out.”
**
(yes, for the Vampire Chronicles readers, Sybelle is exactly who you think she is. 😉)

✰ New interview with Reeca Smith about her time with Elvis
- I was googling some things about Elvis (as one does) and I randomly came across this interview that was just posted yesterday featuring Reeca Smith Gossan who was briefly involved with Elvis from September 1974-January 1975
it’s only about 40 minutes long but worth the listen in my opinion !! Reeca seems really sweet and is very adamant about defending Elvis and his intentions with her. However if you don’t have the time to listen I did list some of the most important/interesting keynotes below ⬇️
- According to Reeca, the U.S release of the Amazon documentary was delayed not because of Currie Grant’s involvement, but because of the passing of Lisa Marie. This didn’t make much sense to me in regards to the timeline so I’m wondering if the makers of the documentary used that reason as the company line as opposed to saying they didn’t want any legal trouble with Currie/Priscilla. She did say it will be coming out “hopefully soon”, and if I had to guess, I think it will come out either before the release of the upcoming Priscilla movie or after (probably to cash in on the hype)
- Reeca also said that she is involved in an upcoming project with 60 Minutes (Australia’s version, not the U.S) about Elvis, however she gave no other info than the fact that she was being interviewed for it. So I’m not sure if this 60 minutes special will be just about Elvis’ women, or about Elvis all together
- She also talked about how it was Jerry Schilling and Joe Esposito who urged her to initially share her story as they wanted the world to know that Elvis had good intentions with her, despite how their age difference looked on paper
- And for now I’m giving kudos to Reeca because she said she has declined several opportunities to share her story about Elvis over the years as many were going in a direction she didn’t like. For example, she declined an offer to be involved on a project that was named “Elvis: the Cradle Robber”
- Another little random factoid is that while she was working in California, she actually met and became acquainted with Austin Butler’s mother (what a small world 😭)
- As for her relationship with Elvis, she says she first met him in September of 1974, and met up with him throughout that whole month. Then she met up with him again throughout November of 1974. And then lastly in January of 1975
- Their first initial meeting started with a shopping spree where Reeca left with over 2700 dollars worth of clothes, including a rhinestone-denim-suede floor length coat that she still has to this day
- After the shopping spree they went back to Graceland and one of the Memphis Mafia guys brought her down to the TV room where Elvis soon came down to talk with her
- She said they had a very very long talk and that was Elvis was extremely inquisitive, asked tons of questions, and basically wanted to know all about her
- Reeca also talks about how Elvis’ biggest source of happiness was giving other people happiness, and that he almost managed to do so just by getting information from casual conversations
- For example when Elvis was asking Reeca what her favorite animal was, she didn’t know it was because he was planning on buying whatever she said. She loved cats, so Elvis wanted to buy her a white persian cat. Dave Hebler, one of the guys, was assigned with the task of finding a white persian cat but came up short 💀 He settled on a little dog and showed up with the dog at Reeca’s doorstep, courtesy of Elvis
- Another example is that when Elvis and her were talking about his cars, she casually mentioned that she loved Trans Am. Just a few hours later after telling Elvis this, Reeca was asked to close her eyes, and was then escorted to the front of Graceland by Elvis where a brand new Trans Am was waiting for her 👀 Elvis made a pact with her and her parents that the car would only sit in their drive-way until Reeca was old enough to get her license
** Also Elvis was very open and honest with her parents, and personally called them everytime he wanted Reeca to come over. She said he would even let them know what exactly they would be doing, and who exactly was in the house
However Reeca did say there was a few occasions where he wanted Reeca to fly with him on tour but that idea was promptly shut down by her parents
- And when asked about if Elvis was able to go anywhere without bodyguards she talked about how Elvis and her would take off alone and go driving up and down on Elvis Presley Boulevard, without letting any of the Memphis Mafia know where they were going … which of course made them mad as they worried about Elvis’ safety but Reeca said Elvis was never worried
- As I mentioned Reeca was 14 at the time and so she was naturally very curious to know why Elvis wanted to spend time with her, and Elvis’ answer to that was that she reminded him of his childhood and of a simpler time where people didn’t expect so much out of him
** Elvis was very content just to have her company as neither one of them put any pressure on each-other and Reeca said he particularly loved reading the Bible to her, and spending hours just talking
- He was also extremely protective of Reeca and made it known to her and the guys that she was never to have any of the medication/pills the group took, after she had inquired about them from seeing them in his bedroom
- And according to her, it does seem like Elvis intended on having a future with her as they talked about they could be together more when she was older, and how Elvis was going to help her accomplish her dream of becoming a model as he had the connections to do so
- But the relationship/friendship ended up being short lived as Reeca saw that Elvis was going on a downward spiral. Whenever her mom said that Elvis was on the phone and wanting to talk to her, she declined the invitation. She was very young and she talked about how she felt scared and very helpless as there was nothing she could do to stop him
- The very last time she saw him in person was in January of 1975. He made the trip to her house alone, driving his yellow Pantera, and asked her to come out and talk to him at his window. She said she nearly didn’t recognize him as it was clear that his physical and mental health was declining
- After she stopped seeing Elvis, Reeca says that’s when she started hanging out with Ricky and David Stanley more on their own. They were terrible influences on her and were actually responsible for getting 15-year-old Reeca on some hardcore drugs
- Reeca also said that if Elvis had ever found out about what Ricky and David were doing, he would have either kicked them out or killed them (deserved tbh 🤧)
- She gives Elvis credit for being the one to inspire her to turn her life around. Soon after Elvis’ passing she was involved a very bad car accident as she was driving while high, and that became the turning point. Reeca even said if it wasn’t for what Elvis showed her, she would be dead right now
- Reeca was really impacted by Elvis’ passing as he was the first person close to her to pass away, she really struggled with coming to terms with the fact that she would never see him again. And according to her, on the day of Elvis’ funeral, Joe Esposito brought her in for a private viewing of Elvis in his casket which gave her the closure she needed as it became very real that he was actually gone
- When asked about why Elvis felt lonely and could sometimes be unhappy, Reeca said it always felt like Elvis was reaching for something. She also believes that in the later years when his health deteriorated and struggled to make it through concerts, he felt like he wasn’t make anybody happy anymore and that’s what killed him inside

Episode 305 - Talkin' Music with shineswithyou
Summary:
Tumblr media
🎧 Find Talkin' Fanfic on your favorite podcast app. Or stream here!
Sara takes (kind of sort of) a break from talking fanfic and bandfic to talk about a different form of storytelling– music, and writing about music! @shineswithyou is a familiar face around Oasis and U2 tumblr, but what you might NOT know is that she has recently embarked on a writing journey of her own, with a substack blog about music and its place as the soundtrack of her own life.
Sara and shines talk about her blog, and the difficulty of “writing words about sounds”; how music is a language in and of itself capable of telling its own (and our own) stories.
Of COURSE we loop it back around to fanfiction and RPF (or, ‘real person fanfiction’), and how bandfic is, at its core, a pure form of love for the musical artist. Other talking points include: how awesome Bono is, and how we wish we could have been at Slane Castle in 2001; the perennial dysfunction of the Gallagher brothers; and the dichotomy of the U2 and Oasis fandoms.

Tom Cruise's Olympics Closing Ceremony Stunt Wasn't Applauded by Everyone on Social Media
Kristyn Burtt Mon, August 12, 2024
SheKnows Yahoo News
Article and my view on Tom Cruise and Scientology below
Tom Cruise gave the Closing Ceremony at the Paris Olympics a very Hollywood ending when he rappelled down from the top of Stade de France and into the crowd of athletes. It seemed like a picture-perfect ending to the European games as they handed it off to Los Angeles, that is sure to add a touch of Hollywood sparkle in 2028. However, not everyone was pleased with the A-list star’s presence.
Social media jumped into the conversation with mentions of Cruise’s controversial ties to Scientology, which is considered a cult in France. “How does Tom Cruise manage to be held in highest public esteem when he is a leading player in Scientology?!?! I don’t get it at all. Just remarkable,” one user on X questioned the 62-year-old star’s presence at the event. Another account added, “I love how America just acts like Tom Cruise isn’t like the icon of Scientology.” Then, of course, there are his issues with his ex-wives, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes.
The social media critic pointed out, “I’m sorry. Tom Cruise stole his adopted children from Nichole Kidman because she didn’t want anything to do with Scientology and his 2nd wife had to plan an escape from the marriage to protect her child from Scientology. THIS is who we chose to represent LA 2028 Olympics?” Even though they forgot Cruise’s first wife, Mimi Rogers, whom he did not have a family with, the point is well taken.
Still, Cruise was a huge presence during the two weeks of the Paris Games. He was seen at gymnastics events and taking selfies with fans — Cruise was doing what he does best, being a movie star. The tousle of the hair, the hop on the motorcycle with the Olympics flag — that’s all Cruise. And that moment became about him, not the athletes who spent the last two weeks competing their hearts out on the field or in the swimming pool. They didn’t seem to mind as they hugged him, grabbed video, and screamed at the mere sight of him.
And the warning was there all along. Le Parisien noted that the Church of Scientology was “more visible than ever” at the games. They built a new headquarters in April very close to the State de France and “deployed a major communication campaign during the Olympics.” The move makes Cruise’s presence seem a little more sinister because, as TMZ reported, the Closing Ceremony stunt was his idea. But we have to ask: Was it really the Church of Scientology’s idea? It makes you wonder.
<^**^><*><*^**^><*><^**^>
When I saw Interview with the Vampire the film (1994) I knew nothing about Tom Cruise beyond the movies he had done. In reading about him after IWTVTF I was under the impression that he was still a Roman Catholic, and I don't think I even knew what Scientology, but it wasn't considered a religion. When Going Clear was released in 2015, I had a new understanding of Scientology, and an instant change in my feeling for Tom Cruise. (Though I still love the film and I still love that Lestat, I now love 3 different Lestats).
Scientology horrified, but intrigued me and I have watched many more documentaries as well as Leah Remini's series.
I have a hate for Scientology that burns with the heat of a thousand suns, and at least 200 of those suns are my hate for Tom Cruise alone.
I have no idea why people still see his movies. I have no idea why he is still invited on talk shows/chat shows. His popularity at this point just baffles me.
So when he does shit like this, I tend to post it. If you don't want to see it block the tags scientology and tomcruisescientologist.

(M.I.) lol yup The Cafe is like “this is happening whether you like it or not…in you go *supernatural shove*” He doesn’t get thrown into the room if he cooperates 🤣
And my dream self totally has her priorities straight lmao. Let’s just go get possibly murdered/turned into ceramics. Sounds hot
Ok, the shrinkage issue. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 There’s this thing on YouTube, channel name Absolute Sci-fi, documentary called “Unmasking the most iconic figure to dominate horror movies: Robert Englund.” At about an hour and 50 minutes in, they talk about Fear Clinic. The cocoon scene is mentioned and how Robert pretty much just dropped all his clothes, and he’s all like “yeah, I’m old, I got man tits. I don’t care.” But also…it was VERY cold in the room. Certain parts went “inside, to live, where it’s warm.”
She's like the mama bear trying to get her cub to play with the other cubs XD 😆
Sounds perfectly sane to me 👌👌👌 XD
... ... ... oh god XDD First of all I'm very happy he's comfortable with himself- good for him. Love it for him. Second of all though- ☠️☠️☠️ OMG! XDD I was cackling at the bus stop. Too funny.
Out of curiosity!! What other non-elm street movies does that doc talk about?? I'm always looking for interview type stuff about RE movies that aren't Nightmare! ^^

Since Nora Ephron is a major inspiration for Ted Lasso, I must talk of a documentary I love. It's about romcoms, but not in the contemporary sense of the word. More about movies dissecting relationships between men and women in a broad sense since the early days of cinema. Nora Ephron was interviewed for this documentary before she passed and talked about how, because the major studios are now owned by corporations as opposed to producers, profit is the goal. Her contracts therefore stipulated that her movies had to be watchable by an unaccompanied minor in order to reach as wide an audience as possible. The result of this, according to her, was that movies stopped being aimed at adults. Instead they became easily digestible products, losing all the richness of past productions, especially those made under the censorship of the Hays code, as mentioned in my previous post.
Ted Lasso is for adults. Not in the language or themes particularly (although one could argue that the F bombs don't exactly make it family friendly), but in how it exposes human nature in all its complexities, contradictions, the inconstancy, the messiness. Within ourselves and our relationship to others. It's familiar yet unfamiliar. It's disconcerting. It's complicated! It's charged with the unsaid.
Why is that?
Because such is life! We don't always see what is obvious to others within us. We don't talk out loud of what is happening internally. It shows in how we behave. Relationship upheavals don't necessarily lead to moments of heighetened drama! In fact it almost never does! Because of self-preservation or that of a loved one. Because social consensus. Or because not our place. Or because we don't care. We don't always know what we want or don't want. We don't always do what's best for us. Life goes on, come what may.
Not something we usually see handled so well in media.
What makes this show also stand out is its finite nature. And the fact that it was written as a three acts story from the beginning and had the luxury of having multiple episodes to unfold it in all its magnificence. Easier to show the intricacies of the human psyche when you have more than a couple of hours to do so.
What I mean is, just because it doesn't adhere to the well rehashed will they/won't they addressed to (effectively) children, doesn't mean that they're not doing it for Ted and Rebecca. It just happens to be organic and understated. In other words, same as in real life.
So. Let's hope this is where we're heading!

EPISODE 1.
Nice disclaimer that all interviews were complete August 2022 aka pre his Granny's passing.
"Members of the Royal Family declined to comment on the content within this series”
Opening with H march 2020 is a powerful choice too, before going to Meghan in Canada with H in London.
"I just really want to get to the other side of all of this" 💔
This feels more about the media than personal about the family, which many of us had presumed honestly.
The tiny glimpses of the children in general with no real focus on them is a sweet touch.
Lolololololol at H&M being shown the clip of Meghan being asked William or Harry. "Honey, I'm sorry. of course I'd choose you."
"I think this love story is only just getting started"
The ~why did you want to make this documentary?~ I think is such an important question and one I'm glad got asked early on.
That shot of H with Archie, the pure contentment in Harry's eyes. Oh those children have been a big part of his healing.
Harry talking about consent in regards to the child is an interesting one, especially as a child who grew up very visible and clearly choice were made for him that he historically hasn't agreed with.
I'm going to have to go through just to see all the photos again.
Meghan making the point people have written books about her that she doesn't know, doesn't it make more sense to hear from them.
Lindsay! Talking about their summer of freedom, when she then met Harry.
"And then came H. Talk about a plot twist."
They met on Instagram! Via a friend's video
She didn't know who Prince Haz was, so asked if she could see his feed. Which we got to see a glimpse of. She didn't googled him, she scrolled his feed. That's how you see someone, not what people say about them on Google.
Nice to see so many of Meghan's friends, for the girl the media has loved to claim doesn't have any.
The re-enacted text messages is a good touch.
H being late on their first day lolololololol and his face at her talking. She has his full attention always.
Having dinner the following night, and Meghan was late! Harry laughing at how flustered she was.
"you can be as late as you want, I'm not moving. I want to see you again." Oh H 😍
Meghan talking about that one photo, her smile.
Meghan mocking the fact Harry had a list of what he was looking for lolololololol. And Harry is NOT sharing the list, nice try.
Ah I knew Nacho would be in it, talking about Harry telling them he'd met a girl, maybe the one.
"she wanted to be in the moment. She wanted to get to know him for him, not who the public thought he was." Lindsay summing it up well.
Harry talking about Royal men, and the temptation to marry someone than fits the mold, rather than the person they are destined to be with. WOW.
Making decisions with your head or your heart, before mentioned his Mother and her making decisions with her heart. "And I am my Mother's son."
Clips of baby Harry and his first public appearance, with Harry talking about there not being a classroom with his Grandmother in front telling them what it's like to be Royal.
Him talking about blocking about memories of his Mum is sad, but always remembering her laugh.
"What am I? Who am I? What am I part of?"
James Holt speaking, with Archewell and Palace spokesman labelled under him.
I'm glad they're chosen to put experts in - makes it less reality show and more documentary which I think it needed to be.
Oh they included the Panorama interview. "I think we all know now she was deceived into giving that interview but she spoke the truth about her experience".
Harry talking about the similarities between Meghan and his Mum. "The same compassion, and empathy and confidence. She has this warm about her."
Oh the clip of Archie and Granny Diana's photo.
"I didn't want history to repeat itself..."
The clip from Earl Spencer's speech after Diana's death, that the media have blood on their hands is a powerful choice to include to. Reemphasises Harry's fears all along.
Nicky - one of H's childhood friends included. Talking about walking behind Diana's coffin was the moment people began to think they knew Harry more than they did.
Them including Harry fighting the paps back in the day 🙈
Prince Seiso! Talking about Harry being willing to learn, not being there to tell. An immediate connection to just not each other but the community. He is his mother.
Harry saying that they are brothers.
He has a Lesotho name, which means "warrior." A warrior in spirit and in character.
Harry talking about what Lesotho gave him, it's very much his other home and it was critical to share with Meghan.
The happiness in the Botswana photos is just so so clear.
Abigail Spencer's pure laugh when she was talking about Meghan sharing he was in love with Prince Harry.
"it's not about who you trust, it's about who they trust" - I'd never thought of it like that but it makes total sense.
Their last Halloween of fun, knowing the news would break the next day. Eugenie & Jack! Such fun and then....
Boom. All the headlines.
Wow they've managed to pack a lot in to just one episode.

Sarah Snook Filmography Review w/ Links
I love the range in Snook's stuff. She's done horror, comedy, romcoms, historical documentaries, and she's amazing in all of them. She's done a LOT of short films - seen, alice, nightingale floor, the poet and the plant. I enjoyed Alice a lot, it's adapted from a song (??) And just 8 minutes of snook frolicking in the woods. For her bigger work - Most of them are fairly accessible so deep diving her filmography was fun and easy. Anything ommited is either 1) I couldn't find a way to easily watch it 2) her role is so small it's not worth mentioning. ♡ - my personal favorites
All Saints - Snook's first tv appearance! She plays a young woman with appendicitis. stock standard medical procedural guest spot and it's on hulu.
Sisters of War - A historical biographical drama! she plays Lorna White, an Aussie nurse who survived being a POW in WWII. It's a well made tv movie and Snook gets to really show some range. You can watch on a few different websites, but I used Tubi.
Packed to the Rafters - TW for planned sexual assault. She's got a two episode guest spot on this Aussie sitcom as a college student who becomes involved in a sexual assault case. The assault is nongraphic, but I can't say she's given enough of a plotline to make it worth it.
Spirited - An Aussie comedy drama of this lady and a bunch of dead ghosts in a hotel? Snook joined in the 2nd season as a minor supporting character and she's only got a few scenes, but if you want to see her in a funky schoolgirl fit, it's on amazon for free.
Not Suitable for Children ♡ - A cute and raunchy Aussie romcom. She plays Stevie, the girl best friend turned serious love interest. Snook is adorable and does a great job with a kind of underwritten role. viewer discretion for nudity and sex - free on youtube :)
These Final Hours - Apocalypse drama. She's only in one scene and plays a lady high off her ass who's searching for her kid. if you wanna see her shake and shout then go for it! also on youtube.
Predestination ♡ - TW for nonconsensual medical procedure. I highly recommend! It's a loopy time travel movie set in the 1960s. Kinda. Spoilers - Snook plays Jane and John, a trans man who has an gender reassignment surgery after giving birth. Snook absolutely blew me away in this, the way she plays John and his transition is just stunning. Is it good trans rep? Not really, but I'm not expecting it either from a 2014 sci fi flick. I watched on this website, please don't get a virus.
Jessabelle - Snook received her SAG card for this movie! She's got the lead role as Jessie, a woman who moves back in with her father in Louisiana after a car accident. Horror movie and I think intended to be a more thoughtful exploration of white violence, but it really comes off as offensive in its use of black spirituality, especially with a primarily white cast. Snook has some great scenes though and the location is gorgeous -- also she had a very funny interview where she thought she tanked the film by doing a North Carolina accent instead of Louisianian. Free on Tubi
Holding the Man - Very cute gay film about AIDS. She plays a best friend and is only in the first few scenes and the last few, if I remember right. No memory of how I watched it.
The Secret River ♡ - TW for graphic violence. Miniseries (only about 2 hours total) about Australian colonialism. It's well made and Snook is great as Sal, one of the colonizers who's moved to Australia from the UK with her family. She's got great chemistry with Oliver Jackson-Cohen and overall just a nice miniseries that's also free on iview :)
Steve Jobs - Snook's only in a handful of scenes and it's mainly her running around and talking into a headset! Good movie though! Also no memory of how I watched it
The Dressmaker - Weird Aussie film with Kate Winslet and gorgeous dresses. Snook has a supporting role as Gertrude, the ugly duckling of the town who gets a makeover into a swan :) She's a mean girlfail in this and I did seriously laugh at a scene where she just falls SO hard on her ass. There was brief weird orientalism in this, but otherwise a solid movie. On Amazon Prime.
Oddball - Aussie feelgood children's movie! She's a conservationist park ranger mom to a precocious little girl who just wants to save the penguins. It's a kids movie, so super simple, but Snook is solid and if I was an aussie kid I would have formed a deep deep crush on her. Free on Tubi! The Beautiful Lie - Okay. I'll be honest and say I skimmed this at 3am weeks ago, so I don't remember it well. It's a miniseries loosely adaptated from Anna Karenina and a pretty slow drama. Snook is Anna, a rich tennis player who struggles with infidelity - so like. Shiv 0.5. I wouldn't personally recommend it, but if you wanna see Snook in some cute silk shirts, go for it. Posted on Dailymotion.
Black Mirror - Snook has a minor role in the episode Men Against Fire. It's fine? I seriously don't know what to say -- she plays a squadron leader and dies halfway in. On Netflix. Discretion advised for violence!
The Glass Castle - Drama movie w/ Brie Larson! Snook plays the adult version of the oldest daughter of an abusive family. Honestly, she doesn't have much to do in it, but she does wear cute glasses and frankly looks gay. to me. On Netflix.
Winchester - Another horror, this time w/ Helen Mirren who REQUESTED! that Snook be in the film or she wouldn't do it. Icon! She's only in a handful of scenes and most of them are her running after her creepy little son, but I would personally watch it just for a green dress she wears. Other than that a fairly boring movie that's pretty to look at. Free on Tubi.
Brother's Nest - She's in the last five minutes as this poor lady who just wants to buy a horse. Could not tell you anything more because I skimmed it. Tubi link! Warning for graphic violence, but not in Snook's scene.
American Pickle - She's just in the first scene as Seth Rogen's wife! Would watch again to see her knaw into a picked herring <3 No memory of how I accessed it sadly
Pieces of a Woman - TW for graphic depiction of birth that ends in a stillborn. Snook has a supporting role as a lawyer who hooks up with Shia Lebouf. I don't know if I have much to say about this movie outside of it's really intense and jarring birth scene in the beginning. Snook is cute as always? On Netflix.
Koala Man - I refuse to watch this I'm sorry. Msg me if I should but I cannot do it w/ another adult animation in that art style.
Run Rabbit Run - TW for physical/mental child abuse. She's the lead in a psychological horror as a mother grieving the loss of her father. There's a creepy little kid, a creepy bunny, and some stunning shots of the Aussie outback. Is it a good horror film? Not really, it's repetitive and slow with little to no emotional stakes. Is Snook good in it? Yes. She swings wildly from emotion to emotion in this and truly sells that she is losing her mind. She's also got some sweet moments with her on-screen daughter. Honestly though, I just wished I was just watching Babadook instead. On Netflix :)
Succession ♡ - Pop over to my huge shiv roy tag to know my thoughts on that show. Maybe the best performance of the decade for one of the best characters on TV. On HBO lol
Beanie Bubble - Snook was great as Sheila, a mother of 2 kids and Zach Galifianakis' wife in weird drama comedy. Again, can't say she's given the best material to work with here, but Snook still manages to elevate her character as sweet, protective, and loving. Plus she gets to wear some really pretty dresses in this and also punch a man. The justice we deserve. On Apple Tv but sadly the website I watched it on is gone.
Woof that was long! Feel free to msg me if you watch any of these! I love snook talking and I hope this guide was helpful to you. I also really recommend @/bestofsnook on twitter, they've got some great guides :)
