emphasizing different things

both noel and liam have spoken about the more... 'unconventional' side of their relationship. but they differ in what they choose to emphasize.

noel almost always emphasizes the ‘illegal’ aspect of it. he’s basically letting everyone know he can break the rules and get away with it. liam is a mere accessory in this situation. he’s the coke in the ‘coke in my cereal’ joke, a mere tool noel uses to convey edginess. noel is like a teenager who’s bragging about getting hammered or doing drugs for the first time.

Sometimes I just think about My sister lover, lock all the doors, guess god thinks I’m Abel, 45 seconds Loch Lomond wet kiss, “deeply in love with him”, “we had sex last night”, “I have a sore throat because Noel is not bed friendly”, the countless desperate mirroring lyrics Noel and Liam wrote for each other in their own songs, all the painful awkward incestuous “jokes” they(mostly Noel) made that left the interviewer sweating and speechless, all the mentions about crime and sin and guilt and shame about love that no one seems to question

But then It’s almost like they are doing all of these because they know people aren’t actually going to go there, to think they are being serious, so they dance on the silver string to play with people’s assumptions. The thrill of expressing the forbiddened under everyone’s eyelid and get away with it must be so tempting. To mainstream media, they are nothing other than feuding brothers who hates each other after all. Brotherly love can explain all their suspicious actions. Brotherly kiss with tongue intertwined isn’t all that weird anyways. All those heartbreakingly romantic love songs, they are for imaginary friends or Manchester city or nobody at all.

The irony lies in which their love is eternally masked and protected by their blood-bond, while simultaneously eating them alive. But despite all that, their souls still manages to find a way to fit into one another. If their actions do mean something, it really is quite beautiful.

Miserable childhood, the power dynamics from birth, surrogate parental character, family boundary dissolution, enmeshment, over-control, idolization, emotional abuse, toxic codependency, and love lasts for the whole life………

Every time I watched Liam follow his big brother’s lead, I wanted to scream. He looked like a stupid little duck, and Noel walked so determined, just went ahead directly and knew Liam would be behind him.

He so enjoys being Liam’s everything, his big brother, his surrogate father, his lover, his protector, his armor.

He definitely loves a lot about the fact that after he left, Liam looked miserable and lonely all the time. (sometimes so desperate, I even felt sincerely sorry for him, and I'm a quite cold person, can imagine how other people would react, like he's a crying puppy or something.)

Hello! I was just wondering if you could explain Gcest to me? Im very confused haha! It feels like a big inside joke that people ship the Gallagher brothers. But if it is a real thing, could you explain how this fandom/theory started?

Hey, Anon, I think this post has all you need. Most people joke about it but don't believe it happened. A small percentage of people deny it ever existed and also don't joke about it. An even smaller percentage believes it happened. It started with Noel and Liam treating each other in such a weird and odd way that it was impossible to think they had a normal relationship. It becomes even clearer when you dig deeper into it and learn about their childhood and stuff like that. Of course, as always, I'd like to state I don't ship them and never did. I don't want them to be together (?), romantically speaking. I think their relationship was much deeper and more tragic than a regular sibling relationship, and I don't see anything wrong with acknowledging it.
