ok i dont rlly like to get serious or anything on this blog but i just wanted to mention that even if it was left up for interpretation if calypso raped odysseus or not, the stuff she still does isnt okay. like she still holds him captive, she still harasses and tries to coerce him after knowing that he is married and doesnt want her. she holds him captive KNOWING IT MAKES HIM SUICIDAL. thats not haha girly things that called being an abuser. yes, holding someone captive and trying to manipulate them out of suicide (as opposed to support them) is abusive.

i know she has a pretty voice but like, did you think jorge would cast a random untrained smoker from an opium den to play her so we know that this isnt a good character? and also you can compliment people’s designs of calypso without being ok with rape, because its just a design, but when its “shes my wifey” and “ii love her” its suddenly not like any other epic villain simping because the thing is she isnt a god sinking his ships or lighting bolting his crew to death; shes sexually abusing him (i am also not going to debate if sexual harassment is different from sexual abuse because its not. even if she never raped him she was still trying to coerce him and harassed him; which is abusive)

if there’s anything i dont fuck with its sexual misconduct. rape, harassment, abuse, all of it. dont give me that shit. the only thing that irritates me more than “haha id dropkick that child in self defense” is any victim blaming or pro rape statement that i displeasurably have to hear. like back to “her voice is so pretty” or just “shes so pretty” hey yea thats what most male rape victims are told. that she was so hot though, so he must have liked it. shes not “just a girl” shes an abuser.

now i know people where a little peeved that jorge removed rape from the circe saga; but i think its reasonable why he did. the epic community is very connected and always has memes for the situations odysseus is in. which, when its haha his friend was killed by a cyclops, or his crew was killed by an angry father, or his men where turned to pigs, or haha hes sad at whatever fantastical situation hes put in; we can laugh at it. because not only is it not real because its a story, but also no one has ever been through that. no ones ever faced off a cyclops in a cave before.

but people have been raped. men have been raped and heard the whole “shes so pretty and sweet thoo”. thats real. and with the circe saga jay knew that putting in rape, so early in too, that it wouldn’t be a plotpoint that fit in because that isnt an epic misfortune they face! thats a real situation; not the men to pigs and sea witch stuff, but being pressured and coerced into sleeping with someone? that is a real situation that real people are put in.

and i know male sexual assaults are iffy to people somehow. so lets say that a woman was in odysseus’ place and circe/calypso were men. does that make it worse? because both are bad. i dont fuck with rape towards ANYONE. regardless of gender, i dont think in 2024 we still should be debating is men can be raped

but back to jorge; i think he was brave for making love in paradise go how it did. i think even implying rape was a brave choice for the musical; especially with a very unserious and jokey fandom (not saying its not also serious but still) but even if you interpret that calypso never touched him. in the odyssey she did, and how tf do you LIKE a character who in the source material was a rapist? shes not “allowed to do bad” shes not “just a girl” shes a predator, and idn something about seeing her get support despite that reminds me of people like my uncle, my brother, my friend’s stepdad, a classmate or two. my uncle being able to have a restaurant, my brother having “a bright future” a certain classmate who got a girl pregnant and then went on to go to prep school. while she carried a child from a random guy in another state. you can support and joke about poseidon from epic and all, but when you start talking about calypso the same way you aren’t invalidating odysseus because hes not real. but you are invalidating countless real life victims.

and these are bold words from someone who isnt even mad about zeus of all people, because i know the culture he was from and i know that he was a metaphor/symbol to said culture. but the odyssey was a story with characters who survived by virtue of extending past that cultural bias. i can pull away from the odyssey as a piece of its time and understand that calypso wasnt probably seen as a rapist back then because the term didnt apply, but as a character i hate her like i hate theseus

and i know calypso was technically a goddess but that didnt mean much for her except immortality and being able to sexually abuse better. she wasnt worshipped (to my knowledge?) or exactly metaphorical. and epic is a modern retelling; so modern standards apply; shes a predator. i wont be taking any counter points because like i said dont do me with that shit

tl;dr your support for fictional rapists extends to what real victims have gone through, and check your lust because backing up every pretty voice/face is a rape culture classic

also im not saying that if you like calypso youre a pro rape asshole, dont think that. but i am saying youre not helping anyone and more hurting than anything by treating a character who is a sexual abuser like just another fantasy villain

So I’ve known Shizuku and Nobunaga were gonna die from the start. With Shizuku, I’ve prepared myself for her death. So I won’t crash out THAT bad. Though, I really hope we get some dialogue about why she joined the troupe. I’m calling it right now, it’s gonna be that she joined the troupe because she wanted meteor city reforms but the useless fucking village elders don’t do shit so joined the only group that had actually made changes in meteor city. Yes, she knew what she was getting into, and yes, she knows they aren’t heroes. But their influence is super important to meteor city and I think it’d also be a good way to show the troupe’s relationship with the meteorians in a way that doesn’t feel forced. Plus it’d also flesh out Shizuku’s character more. Two birds with one stone pls hear my cries Togashi pleas

With Nobunaga, I’ve also accepted his death. Though there are certain things I need to see before he dies to be fully okay with it. For example, seeing his hatsu. If he dies without us seeing his hatsu, I’m crashing out. Actually, yk what’s worse? If we see his hatsu and it’s FUCKING STUPID. LIKE. DAWG. you and leon have been together since the raccoon city incident, fighting side by side against any evil that came your way. he cared for you more than he cared about himself, always checking on you when your on missions with him, keeping you close to his body in dangerous situations, and always throwing himself into danger for you. he would sacrifice himself for you quicker than a blink, you just meant that much to him.

but you had gotten kidnapped about a month ago.

he couldn’t focus properly on anything but you, he was going to kill the fuckers that took you. how dare they take the light of his life?

“listen condor one, i know that you’re still thinking about him right now, but you are going to get yourself killed if you do anything rash.” leon sighed into his gloved palms, “i’ll be fine, i’m going to find him here. i know it, condor one out.” “wait leon-“ he quickly ended the conversation, he didn’t need to be scolded for his actions. he knew what he was doing, he was going to find you and bring you back home. back to him, or he was going to die trying. while he was checking his surroundings he saw footprints in the mud, they were your footprints. of course he knew what they look like, he knows everything about you.

he quickly followed to footprints, his handy pistol still in his hands as he looked around to where the prints had stopped. he could feel his anger rising, practically steaming from his ears, umbrella headquarters. the same company that released a virus that cause his home to be obliterated, the same company that turned humans into horrible monsters— no. not you, they couldn’t do that to you.

his brain was filled with nothing but rage as he shot his way through the building, killing soldiers, killing nurses and researchers. he had to get to you, you were the only thing on his mind.

the scientist quickly got to opening the cell, leon felt happy in this moment. he was going to see you again, he was going to be able to hold you, kiss you, and tell you everything was okay. his thoughts were interrupted but the scientist running away screaming, what the hell is his problem? “baby, are you alright-“ he froze, mouth suddenly dry, he thought he was going to throw up. you slowly limped out of your cell, your skin was stretched uncomfortably around the large frame they forced onto you, your gums and teeth were exposed with no lips to cover them, you’re eyes were sunken with no hints of light in them.

your body was trembling, everything on your body was in pain. everything was so stretched and aching all over, your vision was blurry as if you needed glasses, all you could make out was the silhouette of a man. the smell of him was comforting to you, you took a step forward to huff in that comforting scent. “baby, is…is that you…?” you perked up instantly, you brought your hands up to feel for your lover. “…l…eon….” you forced out through your dry and tight throat, all the experiments they did to you rendered you almost unable to speak. leon wrapped himself in your cold embrace, you stood there unmoving, he was the most warmth you’ve felt in your months away from your love. memories started to flood your head of what they did to you, cutting off chunks of skin, snapping your bones into places they wanted them to be, injecting you with god knows what. you knew what you were now, you were a monster. an abomination. you and leon knew you couldn't live past today, your brain would be taken over by a parasite that causes you to kill everything in sight.

leon took a step back looking up into your eyes, his normal cool and calm demeanor was replaced with a soul crushing sorrow, he new that he we either have to give you up to DSO where they would promptly kill you on sight, or hand you over to the BSAA where you would be turned into a weapon of mass destruction. this was a lose lose situation, and both you and him knew it.

“i don’t know what to do, i’m fucking stuck.” leon collapsed to the floor with his head in his hands, your stomach turned in pain. you felt like absolute shit, if only you hadn’t been so reckless you could’ve stayed with leon longer, you could properly tell him how much you loved him, you could’ve held him in your arms to comfort him in this moment. your brain felt cloudy and buzzy, everything on you felt inflamed, you let out a monsterous groan before clutching your head in agony.

“sit down baby, i’ve got you. i promise.” you collapsed onto the floor with your back hitting a wall, leon stood over you, his gloved hands covering your eyes. “if only i found you sooner, i’m so sorry baby. but….we both know how this ends.” you melted into his touch, everything was okay if leon was with you, everything was okay when leon touched you, you knew you would be safe with leon even in your final hours. “stay right here, handsome. i have to make a call.” he patted your cheek before quickly walking to the next room, his hands shook as he radioed in hunnigan. “hunnigan, what’s the best way to kill a bioweapon?” there was a short silence before hunnigan said something, “you would need the DSO to collect the bioweapon to exterminate it properly, they’re the only ones who know how to properly kill one from my knowledge.” leon chewed on his lip in frustration, “thanks, condor one, out.” “wait why did you-“ he cut her off again, he didn’t have time to waste answering stupid questions, he had to spend as much time with you before you were gone.

“baby, you know what i had to do, right?” you looked up at leon with a knowing look, you knew you were going to die by the end of the day. leon had pinged his location to the DSO for a bioweapon threat, he thought about not even telling where you were. he was planning to run away with you and live as long as he could with you, he knew you would eventually kill him, tear him limb from limb if that what the parasite told you to do.

“…c…cold…” you whined out softly, leon hovered over you, bringing your head into his stomach with his arms around your head. warm, this was nice. you were finally warm, all thanks to leon. “i love you so much sweetheart, i’m sorry you had to go through this. i can’t imagine how scared you were, how much pain you were in. i’m so sorry, sweetheart.” leon leaned down to kiss you on the crown of your head, you wish you could die like this. in leon’s warm embrace as you drifted off into an internal slumber, but you knew it would never work like that. the sound of soldiers in heavy gear rang through your ears, you looked up at leon with wide eyes. he had been crying, his eyes, nose, and cheeks were red with sadness, his bottom lip bruised from the way he bit on it.

you knew they were coming to take you away, you gave leon a gentle squeeze. “…lo…love…y…you…” the agents pulled leon away from you thinking he was in some type of danger, leon let out a choked sob as they injected you with a substance that would kill the parasite and inevitably, you. leon watched as your body writhed on the floor, his ears ringing from your high pitched screams of pain. he was trying to get to you again, wanting to hold you one last time, but the soldiers held him back from getting too close. your body finally stopped moving after what felt like hours, leon was grabbing at his hair in anger and grief, you were the light of his life yet he couldn’t protect you.

leon was the only one that stayed in the room as everyone else evacuated, he stared at your body with eyes filled with love, you were still so beautiful to him, even in death.

I'm sorry, but what kind of accent does Ivan have? He's the only sim who speaks that way and now that he's more in focus, I can't help but wonder where he comes from! Also, while I'm at it, I've also noticed that you stay loyal to the Sim world ("speaking in Tartosan" "a Tartosan goddess", etc), and while it's obvious that Tartosa was based on Italy and Spain, do you imagine your characters being from real countries and with distinct cultural backgrounds?

hmmm idk that he really has an accent as such, it's more that he speaks more loosely/common than every one else. i don't really have voice claims or any real countries to pin these pixels to cos they're sims u kno, it'd probs get messy if i started tying things to irl and not others.. so nah, other than rough stuff like vaguely japanese for mt. komo or italy for tartosa i don't pin em to real places ig you could use my northern english accent as an example tho, like my mom is pretty well spoken but still northern right? so she pronounces her t's n shit but my accent is way more common and i drop all mine to a ridiculous extent (if i was to write butter or water the way i'd say it it's practically unreadable lol.. like bu'uer? bUHer?? idk lmao) so Ivan probs speaks like me tbh.. hi yeah absolutely that is the best conclusion to come to about him. he's really not as silly as he is in canon because he's had to be more responsible for a lot longer, and despite having less siblings to handle it's a lot more work to shoulder (if i can find a way for him to ACTUALLY work a job that would make sense, i'll go for it. genuinely i wonder wtf donnie is doing in canon to get them money dawg). it really means that i've upped his dichotomy with leo a lot, the only connecting trait between them is that donnie and mikey think they're both fucking crazy LMAO

and that's because for both of them, they're actually a lot more trigger-happy than in canon, which says a lot for raph in particular. his sense of justice is fully intact, if not stronger, but there's this kind of solemn quality to it instead of determination, which means he's not afraid of making necessary sacrifices, or even killing. he's not actually there for the events of the first episode (its just mikey and april..... mikey just wanted to get coffee 😭) so the whole mutant crisis is a surprise to him, especially because mikey kept his involvement hidden, for the exact reasons you'd imagine.

he doesn't take to it with the same kind of childish determination. there's this underlying sense of obligation that trumps everything else, because he's spent his whole life working through the exhaustion in a really similar way. it's just another way for him to fall back onto the same coping mechanisms he always does.

old sad sheepdog. he very quickly turns to the "us vs them" mentality against draxum/leo/donnie without any space for changing his mind, he's not the same kind of open-minded as he was about draxum (for mikey's sake) in canon. he WARMS UP to donnie, but only barely, and only because donnie begins to get comfortable working against draxum and the foot and in their favor (there is a moment deep deep into the plot where donnie falls to the floor in tears and raph adopts him Immediately though... sometimes the guy is weak, but its also very justified considering the situation. spoilers). but with leo oouuuuuhhhhh oh my goddd you will not BELIEVE how fucked up that shit gets. that dude is his nemesis. he doesn't trust mikey anywhere NEAR him and around the final stretch of the plot he only begrudgingly puts up with him because donnie is there to mediate. donnie is the only one they all like for a while and it's very exhausting especially because he's trying so hard to be patient and mikey is so ANNOYED about raph and leo's bs LMAOOOO he's gonna snap

Other than- ok. You know how much i love him right? He is one of my favourites and i like him more than Shiro, you know that right? I need you to know and remember that when i say the next part.

Entire clone arc was just not needed. Like you could have had the same effect with Shiro being mind controlled and i personally feel it would have been better. Clone arc just overcomplicated an already messy plot, added even more elements and questions that went absolutely nowhere, left behind a shit load of plot holes, became the final nail in the coffin of Shiro having any possible arc or development, and added a new sympathetic character just to kill him off as a plot device.

And the entire "You are my brother Shiro, i love you" who is it for? Literally who is it for? It would have been much more heart wrenching if it was mind controlled Shiro but we clearly established that is not him. That guy is not Shiro, and Keith as i recall had like 3 on screen conversations with him, 2 of them being strained and then Keith just fucks off with the Blades for most of 3 seasons. It is not for Kuron cause narrative is insistent that he is ~evil~ tool and later on they use his body to get Shiro back. So like, who is it for? Other than to show how sad and angsty and great and amazing writers pet Keith is of course but that is the whole goddamn show.

Like i love him and he did not deserve any of That and i am going to keep making up aus where he lives but the entire pointlessness of clone arc angers me so much

I like how Scott's ESMP1 character was like eight pages of fantasy tropes, prince of a kingdom, evil brother, champion of a deity, tragic destiny and forbidden love or whatever and Scott's ESMP2 character was "he likes colours and he likes to play with llamas"

5. Witchcraft Backstory Scott (Witchcraft SMP)

I don't think this guy actually exists I think he's a lie WC Scott tells himself at night oh back when I was young and innocent and blah blah blah

This thing is soulless I think he kills small animals to feel something

Also this is in no ways meant as a serious art critique or anything critique list but I must mention for this skin specifically the shading on his hair and skin does not match the simple (and rlly beautiful imo) texturing on his clothes which ends up making it look like he has some sort of skin disease.

4. Sailor Jupiter Scott (MCC)

Magically becomes a three pixel wide arm instead of a four pixel wide. No one in the world cares except me but it bothers me. He starved himself for this cosplay and I don't agree with encouraging that behaviour.

Anyway Neptune is right there why the fuck are you Jupiter. Even Mercury I could understand or Uranus. Why the fuck are you Jupiter.

3. This New Life Skin that never showed up in his videos (New Life SMP)

Oh New Life what a sad sad end to an SMP. Your run was like the SMP equivalent of the life of one of those abused hamsters. Even sadder was Scott's last three or four episodes where he desperately clung onto the series like trying to put the hamster on life support only for the hospital to say "that's a fucking hamster we're not doing that"

The last few episodes of Scott's NLSMP episodes were just "wow! I am [insert origin here] now!" and he makes a decent looking build that never shows up on camera again themed to whatever he is and then assassin sausage shows up and goes "it's sausaging time" and sausages all over the place and repeat. I really wonder who he commissioned for these skins because it seemed like he got them made on pretty short notice -- and some of these skins are bangers too (cursed doll scott ily)

and then there's whatever the fuck this one is. Girl you look like a genshin impact. I included a back view of this one because genuinely what the fuck is he. What the fuck am I looking at. When he showed up in Owen's videos with this skin he was inchling sized too so it was even harder to tell if what you were looking at was Scott Smajor or a visual glitch.

The elements of this skin are well made, the colours work well and it's consistently textured there's just too much going on it hurts me. Do you really need a boob and a belly window. Do your fucking. Ankles need cutouts. Why are you pink.

I think the moment Meliodas finally kills Dale is a real turning point in the series. Before this, he had not killed a single opponent. He just fought to disarm and incapacitate. Just the next episode, he tells ban and gowther to "go straight for the kill" against the holy knights. As we see throughout the rest of the series, even before his emotions get caught in purgatory, he no longer feels hesitant to kill. He only becomes more and more like himself from the time of the Holy War (post 10 commandments). This is why I love his character sm, a corruption arc (even if he is never truly evil) is just so rare and one this good and angst filled is even rarer.
