-what common/uncommon fear do they have?

💛Atlas: [Pointing to Asher] Water. 🩵Asher: You can’t just leave it at that. It’s not like if you set a glass of water on the table, I’ll run screaming. I have a fear of drowning, so I don’t like to be submerged in water. You’re never going to catch me out swimming. Probably not on a boat either, while we’re at it. Not taking any chances. 💛Atlas: Fair enough. But you won’t even put your face under the water in the shower. 🩵Asher: That’s because it reminds me of being submerged in water. Anyway, this conversation is making me sweaty, and there just happens to be water on the other side of this fence, so let's change the subject. Next question.

-do they have any pet peeves?

🩵Asher: Oh, Atlas fuckin’ hates mindless small talk, like the kind you use just to fill the silence, or because you awkwardly feel like you need to talk to the person next to you. Seriously, he’ll like you a lot more if you just sit next to him in silence for an hour. 💛Atlas:  Very true. And yet, your record for silence is, what, twenty minutes?  🩵Asher: Maybe. But I don’t make mindless small talk. 💛Atlas: Yeah, I do like listening to you ramble on about your latest obsessions. You get all animated and excited, it’s really cute. 🩵Asher: You’re really cute.

-what are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?

💛Atlas: Uh, I don’t know, what’s in our room besides the obvious? Probably too many electronics. 🩵Asher: Right, between the computer and the switch and my drawing tablet and our phones... 💛Atlas: And your sketchbooks and pencils. How many pencils does someone need? 🩵Asher: I don’t have enough; I’ll tell you that much. Count yourself lucky that most of my art supplies are scattered between Lex’s place and my parents’ house. One day I’ll get it all organized in one place, but that day is not today.

-what do they notice first in a person?

🩵Asher: Hm. That's a good question. What did you notice about me first? 💛Atlas: Your hair, obviously. 🩵Asher: [laughs] 💛Atlas: But no, I would say your eyes. I’d never met anyone with such pure gray eyes before, they’re striking. Your eyes are very expressive too. And you make eye contact with people more than anyone else I know. Like, whenever I talk to you, I always feel like you’re really listening. 🩵Asher: [smiles] I am.

-on a scale of 1-10, how high is their pain tolerance?

🩵Asher: Oh god, mine is probably like a 5, and Atlas’s is probably a fuckin’ 8 or 9. 💛Atlas: I would’ve said 7, but we can go with 8.

-do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure?

💛Atlas: I think my first instinct is freeze, but then probably flight. Depending on the situation, I’ll walk away or hide away. 🩵Asher: Mostly. But with James, you definitely went to fight. 💛Atlas: That was different. I don’t care if people hurt me, but I’m not going to let them hurt the people I love. Ash is definitely more of a fighter than I am.  

-do they come from a big family/are they a family person?

🩵Asher: I don’t come from a big family, it’s just my parents, me, my sister, and my niece, but we are very close. But honestly, family isn’t just about relatives. Chosen family is just as important. When I say my family is the most important thing to me, I don’t just mean them, I also mean Atlas and Lex and Dawn and Phoenix and Aspen too. And Jasper, obviously. 💛Atlas: Exactly. If we’re talking about relatives, I come from a very large family, but I will never see or speak to any of them again, except for Dawn, of course. A few years ago, I never would’ve considered myself a family person, but Ash’s family taking me in changed all that. I’d definitely say I am now. 🩵Asher: I love that.

-what animal represents them best?

💛Atlas: Oh, that’s easy. Ash is just like Jasper, his border collie. Playful and energetic, friendly, intelligent, hardworking, and he loves to snuggle. 🩵Asher: Hm. I think for Atlas, I’d say a deer. 💛Atlas: A deer? 🩵Asher: Yeah, like, you’re quiet and cautious, a bit anxious with a tendency to hide, but you’re also beautiful and sweet. 💛Atlas: You make me sound more like a bunny. 🩵Asher: No, definitely not a bunny. Have you ever come upon a big buck deer? They’re majestic and intimidating, and they’ll kick your ass if they have to. They’re… survivors.

-what is a smell that they dislike?

💛Atlas: Ammonia. 🩵Asher: No one likes the smell of ammonia. 💛Atlas: I know, but when I was a kid, at the end of every school year, we’d have to clean our desks with this ammonia spray. Twenty kids spraying ammonia in an enclosed room. It was awful. I’m sure they had the windows open, but even still, that smell is seared into my brain, makes me want to gag just thinking of it.

-have they broken any bones? if so, how?

🩵Asher: Okay, story time! So, when I was ten? Eleven? Something like that. Anyway, I was dancing around in my room, as one does, and I tripped on a book, one of many scattered around my disaster of a room, and tried to catch myself as I went down. Bad decision. I’ll spare you the details, but the pain I felt in my wrist was horrible. I literally saw stars. And then I almost puked when I looked at it. So, of course, I started screaming for my mom. She came running in, and I told her that I’d broken my wrist. And what did she do? She yanked on it and snapped it back into place! Because apparently, I’d just dislocated it. But, fuck, it hurt. If a broken bone is worse than that, then I hope I never break one. 💛Atlas: I broke a toe once. Stubbed it on the corner of my bed when I was in college. I wasn’t good about taping it up or anything either, so it healed a little crooked.

-how would a stranger likely describe them?

🩵Asher: For Atlas? One word: quiet. How they interpret that quietness varies though. Some people think he’s really shy, others think he’s just aloof. But he’s actually neither. He’s introverted and pensive, sure, but he’s also very warm and enjoys chatting with people if it’s a more meaningful conversation, y’know. Like, when we first met, we would talk for hours and hours. 💛Atlas: That’s true, but you’re such an easy person to talk to. I think that’s what people would say about Ash. He’s just very relaxed and friendly and has a way of putting people at ease. He’s good at connecting with people and getting them talking and making them laugh.  

-are they a night owl or a morning bird?

🩵Asher: Probably night owls, I’d say. Atlas prefers starting his day later and working late, if he has the option. 💛Atlas: Yeah, but these days, it feels like I’m working all the time. But even still, Ash starts his day earlier. I don’t know. I think he’s somehow both. He has no issues with mornings, but he also gets a burst of energy in the evening and sometimes it’s hard to get him to come to bed. 🩵Asher: To sleep, anyway. 💛Atlas: [laughs] Right.

-what is a flavor they hate and a flavor they love?

💛Atlas: Ah, Ash hates vinegar and anything pickled. And he loves warm spices like cinnamon and cardamom. 🩵Asher: Oh my god, and Atlas is fuckin’ backwards when it comes to this. He likes bitter flavors to a strange degree, like super bitter beer and strong coffee and he’ll only eat chocolate if it’s the super dark stuff, otherwise he hates it. He doesn’t like sweets. No sugary drinks or candy or even pastries.

-do they have any hobbies?

🩵Asher: We both love gaming and dancing. Otherwise, I like to draw and spend time with my dog. My favorite is taking him down to the beach to play fetch, he loves it there. 💛Atlas: Yeah, and I don’t know, I like to stay active because I feel like I’m constantly at a desk otherwise. I used to rock climb a lot, but since we climbed Mt. Komorebi, we took a break and never really got back to it, so I pretty much just run and work out at the gym occasionally. And I like to sing. 🩵Asher: Seriously, I wish you could hear him. He has the most incredible voice. 💛Atlas: Aw, thank you.

-boom, surprise birthday party! how do they react to surprises?

💛Atlas: Ash would love it! He’d be so stoked that everyone showed up for him like that. 🩵Asher: And Atlas would probably dump me on the spot if I ever did that to him. 💛Atlas: I don’t know if I’d dump you, but… okay, yeah, I probably would.

-do they like to wear jewelry? if so, what is their favorite piece?

🩵Asher: I don’t think I’ve ever seen Atlas wear any jewelry. 💛Atlas: No, I’ve tried, but I could never get used to it. I’d always end up taking it off by midday. 🩵Asher: I can see that. I wear earrings, but that’s it. I used to wear a necklace that an ex gave me, but I threw it out when we broke up. I wanted to throw it into the ocean, but I didn’t dare to walk out on the dock [laughs] so I tossed it in a dumpster instead. 💛Atlas: I didn’t know that. Which ex? 🩵Asher: Elias. 💛Atlas: Ahh. Yikes. 🩵Asher: Yeah. Anyway. Next question.

-do they have neat or messy handwriting?

💛Atlas: I think we both write fairly neat. 🩵Asher: I think so too. Yours is all sharp angles, but it’s not sloppy. 💛Atlas: Yeah, and you have a strong preference for uppercase letters. Sometimes it’s rushed, but it’s never messy. Actually, I’ve never thought about it before, but I really like your handwriting. 🩵Asher: I like yours too.

-what are two emotions they feel the most?

🩵Asher: [points to Atlas] Anxious. 💛Atlas: All of the time. 🩵Asher: And, hm, we can only pick two? I’d probably go with either introspective or focused. 💛Atlas: That’s probably right. For you, I’d say, passionate or inspired and then maybe playful or energetic or something like that. Okay yeah, passionate and playful.

-do they have a favorite fabric?

💛Atlas: Probably cotton, I guess. 🩵Asher: Yeah, same. I don't know. Never really thought about it, to be honest.

-what kind of accent do they have?

🩵Asher: I don’t know. Do we have accents? I mean, I guess Atlas gets a hint of a drawl when he drinks, it’s pretty cute. 💛Atlas: I do not. 🩵Asher: You do! I never told you because I didn’t want you to get self-conscious and try to stop. 💛Atlas: It’s a good thing I don’t drink often, I guess. 🩵Asher: Whatever. I love it. 💛Atlas: And I love you. 🩵Asher: I love you too.

I realize I can just write fanfic, but these characters are enigmatic to me at this stage so! interview with the vampire (amc+) roleplay call ✨

The brain rot is real and I want to roleplay these characters. You too? Awesome! I want to try my hand at playing Louis because the facets of his character are so new and intriguing to me. I’m a POC, but I’m not American, so the nuances which make him him are something I’m still learning. I’d like to play against anyone: Lestat, Claudia, Armand, Daniel, Real Rashid (seriously anyone). As for ships: I’m a multi shipper with all the joys that come with it. I’m open to anyone. Loustat/Loumand/Loumandstat(??) are a good place to start!

I’ve seen the show, and bits of the movie, but I haven’t read the books. Planning to read at some point!

I match the length of my partner, but it does tend to depend on the context. I’m not a fan of characters having more than one conversation in the same reply. Heated arguments will be shorter in length, and so on. I don’t mind text rp either as a warm up or when we need to take a break from a heavy scene.

he's self-assured, he's foppish and aware of it, and heck SOMEBODY's gotta hear all the GREAT one-liners and colloquialisms he's got bouncing around in his head all day from writing.

once he gets to know someone (mainly knows that they're okay with playful, meaningless flirting), he's just shameless.

he's complimentary: "that shirt really brings out your beautiful [color] eyes!"

he's self-aggrandizing: "did you miss me already?" (<--narrator voice: it's been <10 minutes).

he uses pet names and terms of affection so much you almost think he's forgotten your name but it's too late to ask now. "dear," "darling," "love," "light of my life," "sunshine," "lovely," "beautiful," etc.

he's also self-deprecating, or the damsel in distress, "oh, if only there was someone strong and dashing who could save me from my misery!" (author's note: his misery is an unopened wine bottle.)

then the praise. oh the praise. "bless you, you kind and radiant soul. My world would be so dark but for your captivating light."

he's probably not one to use a lot of physical touch in his flirtations because, y'know, boundaries. But with a receptive 4-7 heart farmer, he might make some exceptions, particularly if it was farmer-led, and so long as it wasn't genuinely romantic or sexual. Like dancing, brief hand-holding, kisses on the hand, hugs of most kinds, etc.

and if there was something he wasn't comfortable with, he'd first deflect playfully. ie, holding hands for too long, "I haven't gotten my cooties booster this year."

he'd only use pick up lines if he came up with them himself. a man has to have standards, y'know.

so, he'd basically be like this with ANYONE with whom he has a decent enough relationship with (and he knows it wouldn't make them uncomfortable)

But. BUT.

Here's where it gets really interesting. Follow me down......

after a farmer gets his 8 heart scene... he shuts it down.

he stops flirting with them. cold turkey.

he's not thinking much about any kind of relationship beyond friendship (with anyone, really) while he's working on his novel because he's So Close and that's really invigorating and it kind of overshadows all else.

then the book reading happens, and he hears himself say out loud that he dedicated his novel--his ENTIRE BOOK, arguably his LIFE'S WORK up to this point so far--to the farmer that he only just met a few seasons ago

(not to mention he canonically made it at their behest?!??? (2 heart scene picking the genre))

most authors dedicate first books to, like, their spouse or parents, or childhood best friend, sibling--someone MEANINGFUL, who has STAYING POWER, and has impacted the trajectory of their LIFE..........

talk about a fucking tidal wave of realizations that come crashing down on him. Things that he was too swept up in his own head to really realize or fully acknowledge. Like how, oh no, he's actually been putting some heat (and hope) behind his recent flirty interactions with the farmer. y'know, a more sophisticated of "hahaha... unless.....? 👀" Or how, oh no, did their lips always look so kissable? Or, oh no, was that story arc in his novel just an allegory for his subconscious pining? Oh, you mean the one he just READ OUT LOUD to the entIRE TOWN?????

the man's about to go jump into the sea with cement shoes.

and here's the thing: he's very SELF-assured. His confidence comes from knowing his own worth separate of extrinsic factors. But his confidence when it comes to relationships with other people??? Far less assured. He knows he can be intense in some ways, and not everybody wants that all the time. That stung, having to figure that out the hard way. And now it turns out all the sweet nothings he'd been saying to the farmer are actually emphatically true, but now how's the farmer to know that he's being serious when he says them??? And wouldn't it be so weird to say them with the fervor and hope of it being received genuinely while also having to acknowledge he'd said all those things ingenuously before, but he means them fr now??!?

he's too passionate about his adorée to want them to feel that he was being facetious with them, but was he not???

so he stops all flirting with the farmer. He doesn't ice them out, he just... acts a little differently. Where once he might have greeted them with a melodramatic tale of how he missed them so... instead he says, "It's wonderful to see you again."

it's almost like he treats them warmly, but professionally. The friendliness, warmth, sincerity is all still there but the jokes have faded away and he's a little more... stilted. It's about as subtle as he can be (ymmv), but the change is definitely... perceptible.

it's even worse when you take into consideration the bouquet, omfg. it DOES grant him a sense of security, but this is man is a ROMANTIC who is INTENSELY PASSIONATE. He's got a foot in the door, but doesn't want to scare them away by suddenly becoming overbearing. 8-10hearts is a bit of a tightrope walk for him, as he navigates getting closer to the farmer and being aware that not everyone can (or wants to) handle all he has to give (which is fine!).

he tries to give little tastes here and there but..... subtlety is not his strong suit, and he knows it.

and maybe the farmer has to confront him about it at some point, ymmv. it could very much be a "it's not you, it's me" conversation that leads to ???? or in this hc post, it leads to the 10heart event, where Elliott knows he has to let go of his fears and commit.

without getting into the 10heart scene too much, I'd just also like to point out how fucking funny it is because you KNOW this romantic ass man has day dreamed so many different scenarios of expressing his love and adoration and when the moment finally arrives he just... totally flops. poetic.

but anyway once that's all established and good, the flirting comes back with a vengeance.

a saucy, naughty, 🌶️spicy🌶️ vengeance.

now that he's figured out where the new boundaries are, he's unafraid to use any opportunity (within reason) to express his adoration for them and reaffirm his commitment to them.

example, farmer teases him over a glass of wine, "wine on your tongue got you slurring, El?" To which he smirks, and lets out a low hum. "It's the wine now and you later, my love."

sometimes it's stupid, like stage whispering to Leah as you join them at the Saloon, "don't look now, but a ten just walked in. Should I talk to them? Do you think I have a chance?" (you're married, btw.) Leah's heard this before and says, "No."

sometimes if you're holding hands, he'll just start spontaneously pull you into a wrap in and dance with you, murmuring some lines of spicy poetry he writes and shares only with you. Sometimes this happens at home or on the farm, but not always.

but one way he NEVER flirts with you again is with anything that would put his adoration of you into question for even a moment. You may as well hang the moon and stars for him, and he'll never once let you forget or doubt that. 💖

sometimes it's just so infuriatingly cocky. "I hope you'll still love me when I'm so old and senile that I forget my own name."

"Of course I will."

"You make me so happy, dear. I just hope I can maintain the stamina needed to properly ravish it out of you."

Idk if you’ve answered this question (sorry if you have) before, but how do you think Renji & Rukia first met ? What do you think their life was like originally before Soul Society ?

Pardon me if I'm reading this wrong, but...Rukia and Renji's first meeting is enshrined pretty thoroughly in canon? She rescued him from a water heist that was about to turn disastrous.

This is from Chapter 98/Episode 32: A Star and a Stray Dog, which is the first place you should be looking if you're interested in pre-canon Renruki lore.

As to the second part of your question...you mean before they died? What sort of lives did they have in the World of the Living?

I'm gonna pontificate, so I'll throw that under a cut

First off, I am fascinated with the fact that Kubo gives us nothing about what anyone's living life was like. On one hand, I would like to know everyone's pre-history, but on the other, I'm glad he didn't, like as a literary choice. The slate is supposed to be wiped clean. It doesn't matter. It's maddening, but also correct.

It's also one of those places that is just ✨fanfic free real estate✨ in terms of I think everyone should make up their own version for their blorbos, so of course I have them for Renji and Rukia. I have absolutely nothing to support these, they are just what I felt in my heart.

I have actually talked about Renji's beforedeath quite a bit, here and there in various fanfics, usual under the conceit that, particularly in their Inuzuri days, he would sometimes blurt out some half-remembered thing and then promptly forget it again. Here an excerpt from Chapter 3 of go places:

It’s an Alive Memory, Rukia is nearly certain. Most souls get them. All the boys did, from time to time. To Renji, it’s just brain dust. Whatever it is in Soul Society that makes people forget their lives also makes this memory detritus slippery to hold onto. Renji won’t think of this later, or attach any importance to this conversation. The funny thing is, after ten years of watching him stumble through these moments, Rukia probably has a better idea of what Renji’s life was like than he does. He lived on a farm of some sort. A small one, or at least his family grew a lot of their own food. He died of a fever. Nearly all of his Alive Memories involve his mother. Rukia is almost positive that Renji’s mother is the one who taught him to write. The sewing scissors were likely hers. In Rukia’s imagination, Renji’s mother is very tall and beautiful and kind. Rukia doesn’t need to use her imagination to know that Renji loved his mother very much.

Just to offer a little more detail--doing the math out, where Bleach starts in the early 00s, Rukia and Renji have been separated for 40 years and knew each other for 10 years before that, it would make a lot of sense for both of them to have died in WWII. However, I like to think that time is very wobbly, especially in the outer Rukon, so I like to make their deaths a little earlier-- specifically, I think that Renji died in the 1918 flu pandemic, which may have contributed to getting a plague spirit for a zanpakutou. That being said, my general vibe for his childhood is based on Kanta, the neighbor kid from My Neighbor Totoro, which takes place in the 50s. In any case, he had a pretty small and unremarkable life in rural Japan, aside from the fact that he was loved very much, which will never be unremarkable, no matter how common it may be.

I have written less about Rukia's beforedeath, mostly because she was too young when she died to have any phantom memories. [Note: I know there are some theories out there, based on some arcane clues that Kubo has dropped that Rukia may not actually be a normal soul and may be related to Hell. That's...fine. While I'm never going to say no to a storyline that centers Rukia, I really do hope that it comes to naught. Ichigo has enough Crazy Origin going on and I like the Rukia's backstory the way it is, so I'm just going to ignore all of that for the sake of this post]. Ahem! So, infant death is not anything surprising, or even really interesting, but what makes Rukia's kind of compelling is the fact that her much-older sister died at the same time. To me, this indicates either a natural disaster or a death-by-violence.

As I said above, there are infinity ways you can go with this, but to me, there were two important things I wanted to capture 1) given Renji's descriptions of Rukia having an inherent grace and nobility, and the idea that something about Hisana caught Byakuya's eye, I thought that maybe they should have been noble, and 2) I wanted them to live by the sea. I do not actually remember how I landed on this, but in the 1850s, a bunch of sea fortresses were constructed to protect Japan by attack from sea (see here for more detail). This was the tail end of the Edo period and I liked the idea that maybe Rukia came from an old samurai family, and her father was sent to oversee one of these coastal forts. Did they die in a bombardment? A bad storm? The Kanto earthquake? I never got that far. I'm not even sure if this is a realistic scenario, if they had civilians living there, etc, this was just a half-thought-out thing I came up with for a bonus chapter of a fanfic that someone requested once. The one other detail from that that I came up with and stand by is that I think there were more siblings in their family between Hisana and Rukia. I also like that this idea that makes Rukia somewhat older than Renji, even though the math is impossible and the points are made up anyway.

I'm a very malleable person. I go with the flow and I'm down for pretty much anything with the exception of the universal no nos.

how large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

On the premise of both parties being mortal? Highly dependent on age. Cause a 10 year gap between a 30 and 40 year old is no where near as jarring as a 18 year old and a 28 year old. If they're immortal and above age of consent? Free game for all of 'em tbh.

are you selective when shipping?

Extremely. I didn't bother with shipping really at all until the last 3 years ago or so here. And I've been here since 2010. It was just a case of it never being on my radar, and then seeing how OCs (specifically females) were treated just for even asking to ship? Kinda left me a little timid in it. So I have to have at least talked to my potential partner for over a year? Not consistently, but enough to where as I'd be comfy just jumping in their DMs and sending random things etc. Basically, we gotta be buddies. And then when we discuss dynamics, I have to be able to see potential for growth but also enjoyable moments. Whether those moments be good or bad, if me and my partner aren't getting enjoyment out of it, what's the point?

Honestly? Not sure how to answer this. It's a case by case situation. Where as if I find or someone finds me, and would like to ship, I'm down most times. Other than that, I'm not really seeking anything out. If it happens, it happens.

Yes and no. Yes in the sense I'm not single-ship. I can, will, and do have more than one shipping partner. I refuse to restrict or be restricted. However, no in the sense of I will only ship with one version of a character. So if I'm shipping with a Rem.po from Aval.on C.ode, I will not ship with another one. If my partner has been gone for over a year, and I have not heard from the writer, I will break that ship off. I know life happens, but communication is important all the same.

When did you start writing?

Already enjoyed writing creative essays at school. Wrote my first fanfiction (yugioh) as a teenie at an anime/fandom website. Got really into it, with writing fanfiction about a RPG I were playing/writing at the very same time.

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

Maybe I read more smut than writing it. Because it seems I always need to put up huge story before smut, so it makes sense, cause the ghost of dumb it is ooc comments are still in my head.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

I guess not. Both ways (I just often say I am a film noir or Tolkien type cause I often get lost in description or heavy in inner monologue. We could be in Mordor....or only went down the hill, same length. So happens with me. (So gods no never ever would I say I can write like Tolkien!!!! I just mean by that, that I do not keep some things sharp and short when maybe needed, as I do prefer in real life)

I am a huge Dante Alighieri and Vergil fan, compare me to them and I will always love you 🤣🤣

No. I am not skilled in any other divine arts and I guess that's the only thing I can call on. I like it. I always liked it. I can create something, that's nice. And I've written so much RPG and FF as a teenager, I messed it up and I hate that I didn't do it for over 10 years now. Why abandon the thing you were good at, had fun with, made progress while practicing? So that all progress seems lost and you have to start from zero?

I'm glad I've started making progress again, maintaining what I once set out to do, and learning to be better.

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

I'm incredibly happy with every single comment, even if it's just a smiley.

" You really did read my thing? How great is that!?!?" 😍🤩

But comments with a specific part or a line that they liked or whatever, their specific thoughts on certain parts are incredible. As a writer, I need feedback to know if I'm doing well and if I'm on the right track. Do others know what I wanted to say? Does it come out right? Otherwise I cannot improve.

If someone shares their exact first thoughts, what they thought about certain passages while reading, then the work pays off. 😍😍🤤🤤

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?

I do it cause I want to. But of course the external motivation is important. Lack of comments and feedback makes you quit, mean people make you quit. You post cause you want to share your joy with others, hope they enjoy it too. When they do not, it can be bitter.

But still for me I guess. But non the less, I pick up things I think others will like (but not troping or so, writing things I dislike myself cause they are gaining online likes and so on; not in that way never) When I know a certain mutual/friend is reading the thing, I put easter eggs/insiders in it, they should get; things I think they might like and makes them smile. If someone would request some things they would like to happen/read, I would totally pick it up when possible. Shared happyness is happyness doubled.

3 for Charlie, except edited to be specifically about how their multiracial identity affects them - how do people see them, and how does Charlie see themself? (my Redguard OC also has Breton blood, so I'm v interested to learn about another!)

Yayyyy I love talking about Charlie lol they're my favorite <3

So, Charlie was born on Betony, a small island off the coast of Daggerfall, in 3E393, 9 years before the War of Betony starts. Their father was from Sentinel in Hammerfell, and their mother was from Daggerfall in High Rock. This is relevant to how their multiracial identity affects them, I promise lol.

Anyway, they knew as a child that a lot of the other people in Betony looked at them weird, especially when they were with their parents. I mean, who ever heard of an elvish Redguard? Charlie was occasionally asked questions by curious kids who had never seen someone who looked like them before, but for the most part, people let them be.

But, when they were around 8 years old, tensions between the Redguards of Sentinel and the Bretons of Daggerfall grew. Charlie noticed that people were being meaner. Many of the people living on the island were growing distrustful of their family because who knows what side they would pick? Charlie's parents tried their best to shield their young child from the hurtful comments made, but they couldn't shield them from everything.

Then, of course, when Charlie was 9, all hell broke loose in the War of Betony. By the time Charlie was 10 and the war ended, they had heard countless nasty comments about their appearance and their family and had to learn to put on a sarcastic and unbothered facade in order to prevent further teasing. This facade would later become very difficult for them to drop, even when among family and friends.

However, shortly after the war ended, Charlie's parents decided to pack their things and move to Cyrodiil, where they hoped the politics of home wouldn't follow. This mostly worked, though Charlie would still get occasional comments about their appearance or family.

Once they were an adult, they essentially looked like a very short Redguard with pointy ears (their ears were only slightly smaller than an Altmer's). They would often make jokes about their racial identity, especially if they saw it made someone uncomfortable.

However, I don't think they ever really felt a strong racial identity. They would later joke to Martin, Baurus, and Ko'Lheta that they're probably a good example of what the ancient Bretons were like. No real cultural identity.

Anyway, uhhh, I meant for that to be like 2 paragraphs, but this is the first time anyone's asked me about Charlie, and sometimes the need to infodump takes over, so I apologize for the long response 😅

Anyway, for Ko'Lheta:

20. How does your OC earn money? How much does money affect their life?

Okay, so Ko'Lheta will tell you that she makes money teaching Mysticism and Illusion at the Arcane University. Which is true. What she won't tell you is that she uses her skills in Mysticism and Illusion to make money through other means, as well. If you know what I mean.

However, if you accuse her of doing such a thing, she will act outraged and accuse you of stereotyping her. She will do this even if you somehow manage to catch her in the act. She's a little menace <3

Also, I feel the need to say that she is not Cathay like most of the Khajiit in Cyrodiil. She is Suthay-Raht like the Khajiit in Morrowind.

I'm gonna be honest to you: this ship has been my favourite since pretty much my first immersion in the rise fandom.

It's like the most random and funny thing that I never expected finding scrolling through here; the interactions are perfect and funny, their relationship makes total sense (somehow) and overall I personally haven't seen many fusion between series as reasonable as in this case.

Like: the trope that Usagi works at run the mill and Leo one evening just fells in love with this cute waiter? Love it. 10/10 absolutely. Or even an enemies to lovers kinda thing, it just feels right. Leo finds himself in Usagi's dimension? (Yes "A world of samurais and ninjas" by @annonniiiiieeeee I'm looking at you) Count me in.

But the thing that really makes me wheeze, are Leo's family reactions right after the "WHAT?!?!" moment that they all have at the revelation that Leo is in love/in a relationship. With April and Mikey so happy that their brother founded someone and the other just being like:

Donnie: Who is he? Is he yokai or human? Where does he live?

Leo: After 16 years of being your twin you really expect me to give you my first boyfriend's address?

Raph: Don't worry Leo we just wanna have a talk with him

Splinter: Yea we need to make sure he is good for you

Donnie: And if he's not we're killing him

Or Casey Jones junior butting in like: Oh you finally met Usagi?

Donnie: You know him?

CJJ: Yea, him and Leonardo were legendary warriors back in the future

Mikey: So Leo was together with this Usagi during the apocalypse too?

CJJ: Actually they were married.

So what do you like about MattElektra?

I'm love them. First off:

Battle couple

Power couple

Fight their way to fucking (hot)

They work really well together and play to each other's strengths. In Netflix DD, Elektra had been gone for ten years, yet they fell back into step immediately.

She just rolls up like "hey threaten this guy and infiltrate this gala with me" and then they pull it off like clockwork

Comparing this to the last and current run:

Matt telling Elektra he doesn't trust her -- she just bought Hell's Kitchen to keep it safe, so I honestly don't think he's being fair towards her, but Matt's being kind of a dick to everyone at this point. In Netflix DD, she'd just shown up again after 10 years and the last thing she'd done was kill a guy in front of Matt and then dip, so not trusting her was kinda fair in that universe. This seemed like it was going for a similar beat but without the same history to make it make sense.

And Elektra proving he can trust her by becoming Daredevil and taking care of Hell's Kitchen while Matt is self-flagellating in prison (not to mention buying the whole neighborhood to keep it safe)

And of course in the current run, they're leading the Fist together, which means they have to get ✨married✨

They're obviously drawn to and still have feelings for each other, even when Matt wants to pretend otherwise

I also like Elektra for Matt because out of his (many) canon love interests because when Matt gets back on his "I should live in a cave and have no friends" bullshit, she's one of the few motherfuckers in this city who can handle him. Matt's track record with love interests is pretty bad--if they don't storm out telling him to fuck himself, they tend to die, go insane, or in the case of Kirsten, get unceremoniously dumped after she unwillingly had the knowledge that Matt = Daredevil wiped from her mind. (And Matt could have just told her, but . . . decided not to. Yikes.) Elektra did get murdered by Bullseye (or by the Hand in Netflix DD), but she came back, and she was also subject to the psychic prism that made everyone forget that Matt = Daredevil, but dying made her remember. So, in a way, she's already made it past two big curses of dating Matt Murdock.

Imo, Matt needs someone who can fight and keep up with him as Daredevil. His only other love interests who can do that are (unless I'm missing something in his 60 years of comics, which is possible) Maya (Echo) and Natasha (Black Widow). But--I don't think either one of them could keep up with his emotional baggage like Elektra. In the 1998 run, Natasha knows that she can't talk sense into Matt and make him be Daredevil again, so she calls Elektra to do it . . . and it works.

This whole exchange is just incredible. Pretty much all Elektra does is stand there and Matt can't shut up lmao

She gets him on a level that I don't think anyone else does. Some of it's because they knew each other when they were so young, and Matt showed her parts of himself without reservation that he later learned to hide. Elektra was also the first person besides Stick that he told about his abilities--she might have known that going in (the case in Netflix DD, kinda retconned in 616 to match now), but she was still the first person Matt chose to reveal that to. Their college days in Elektra's initial introduction back in the '80s happened in a flashback, so they didn't get back together in present canon until the 2019 run, but Matt has gone to Elektra when he needed someone to ground him.

This is from the 2011 run when Matt's secret identity has basically been outed to the public and he's skating on a thin veneer of plausible deniability that's now cracking beneath him. He calls Elektra to help him figure it out, and what she said there gives him the idea for what he does next.

I also like this part at the end of the 2016 run. This is all in Matt's head because he's in a coma after getting hit by a truck, so while it's not actually happening, it does show how he feels about his relationship with Elektra. On his deathbed, he's lamenting her decision to be an assassin and kill people and imagining both being with her again and saying goodbye to her before he dies.

And then, at the very end of the 2016 run, when Matt realizes none of this is happening and that's he's dying, we get this:

At this point, Karen's been dead for awhile in 616, and I think Matt romanticized and idealized her to an extent after her death. Here, she's a perfect representation of grace and forgiveness. Elektra, meanwhile, even as a dream in Matt's head, makes him confront the messy realities of both her and himself. Karen might often be what Matt wants, but he knows he can depend on Elektra for what he needs.

(This is not to discount the important of Matt and Karen's romantic relationship in 616, which I admittedly have not read much of but I know is a much bigger deal than it was in the Netflix DD show. These are just the two of Matt's many, many past girlfriends that he thinks about / hallucinates while he's dying, so the difference between them is interesting.)

As for Elektra, Matt's the first person in her life that sees her as something other than a weapon. She was supposed to recruit him for the Chaste in Netflix DD or the Hand in 616 (going off the Woman Without Fear) series, but she fell in love with him instead. After she finds out she's the Black Sky in Netflix DD, Matt tells her that she's the only one who gets to decide who and what she is.

In the Defenders series, she seeks Matt (or in this case Matt's bed) out for comfort when she doesn't even remember who she is.

And of course they 'die' together at the end of that show (except Matt survives and I think Elektra must survive too, but we never see her again and I hope D+ fixes that :__;)

In 616, she works for the Kingpin as an assassin and is supposed to kill Foggy, but she spares him, likely because she knows he's Matt's friend.

4. a story idea you haven't written yet

i have this bisexual!reader x kuroo fic in mind where reader is bokuto's childhood bff so theyve been meeting each other on/off since high school. reader however has since first year been in a relationship with a girl, so kuroos convinced that he'll never have a chance but pines for years and years and years (since reader is genderneutral itll be a bisexual reader, but kuroo thinks theyre [insert gender that the reader seems themselves as and then term for only attracted to women]). he never tells anyone this misconception (only cries about them 'being in a relationship anyway') so bokuto never corrects him.

fast forward to theyre 24-ish? and kuroo and bokuto both live with kenma to save money (it was an arrangement started when they were younger bcos why the hell is he so rich? how does he own a house?) and pay cheap rent to safe up for their own places (also ignore that msby's in osaka and kenma/kuroo is Not. this is my dream house JSJSJS) and then kuroos home alone for the week bcos kenmas out on business and bokutos on family vacation with akaashis family. kuroos been talking about this free week non stop where he'll be cooking himself delicious dinners and 'treat himself all the time'

reader and their girlfriend then breaks up after their like 10 year long relationship (theres a longer story here but im already rambling JSJWJ) and they show up at his door, forgetting that bokuto isnt home. they turn to leave but kuroo in a light pink 'kiss the fish' apron (theres a giant ugly fish on it and he bought it bcos he loves fish and it was funny) asks them to at least stay the night and sleep in bokutos room since its raining and late already.

i have all sorts of things planned for that week they end up alone and bonding properly, becoming fast friends. ive been working in this story since i made this blog actually KENDKDKSK 😭🧡 its just. hard to get around to writing it 😔👊🏼 its a super slow burn with not only containing plot from that week, but also from after and how they develop. i really wanna include tons of kenma and bokuto interactions as well; the snarky friendship comments from kenma and the ✨💕 bromance 💕✨ between kuroo and bokuto as big dynamics !! i think the reason its always been at the back burner is because im still undecided on How they end up confessing to each other. theres a few options being accidental in different scenarios and theres also some where its big and intentional and a lot of kuroo running while determined to let his feelings be known after being kinda constipated about them. its a hard knock life !!!

I haven't really seen anyone talking about it, but there's something bothering me about the timeline provided in the "Archive" tab of the "Communications" menu at Winston's desk.

Uprising's opening cutscene started with "7 Years Ago", and Storm Rising's started with "6 Years Ago". In the Archive tab, however, it says that the uprising was 10 years ago. I knew Overwatch 2's story was going to have a time skip because of this excerpt from Winston's biography on the official website: "But over a year from the recall, only Mei had joined them at Watchpoint: Gibraltar. When Winston intercepted news of the Null Sector attack in Paris, he realized it was likely to be Overwatch’s final battle."

I get it's only two extra years that were seemingly added after that "over a year from the recall", but I don't know, there's just something that really bothers me about all our characters being apart for so long. Now, I'm going to get into slight spoiler territory from an interaction I heard in the Toronto mission.

In the portion where your team rides the train, I had a Sojourn on my team while I was playing as Tracer, obviously. Claire said she recognized Lena, following it up by asking how she looked so young despite being in Overwatch "forever ago". (We now have explicit confirmation that Overwatch was disbanded three years after Lena's first mission, at least.) Vivian said not to ask, and Lena answered "It's because of ✨🌈chronal disassociation 🌈✨!" anyway. Now, it was cute, but there are multiple things wrong with this. If Lena was 26 in Overwatch 1, is she now 29? I know it was stated in the past that chronal disassociation does change how she ages, and I always ignored that as a stupid way to brush off timeline inconsistencies, but again: It is now CONFIRMED that she was in Overwatch for 3 whole years before it disbanded. So why is Claire asking why she looks so young? 29 years old is still super young, if that is the case? Is Lena MEANT to perpetually look around 18 years old, since that was her approximate age during the Slipstream incident? Because that ALSO messes with me. The idea of everyone aging without her? Especially Emily? Ugh. I still assume that Overwatch 2 is taking place in 2077 because of this Reddit post, and I love that assumption because my other favorite video game is Cyberpunk 2077, so I was working off the assumption that Lena was born in 2050 with the aforementioned one-year time skip in mind. Now, I'm not so sure anymore. Spare explicit confirmation of the current year and our heroes' birth years (if not months and days)? Please?

ok if this post was any indication i had the hell of a long class yesterday morning and a lot of things happened that i just kinda need to get off my chest in some way so welcome to the brand new series....

i talk about being in a friend group of burnt out gifted kids being parented by our teacher because dear god it needs to be made into a 12 season TV show

ok so for context this is a very difficult class and you get selected for it at the end of your sophomore year based on your grades, teacher recommendation, standardized testing, whatever. it lasts for two years, junior year and senior year. we're currently at 10 students after some people dropped at the end of the first year and one person joined. our teacher is this saint of a man who's literally like our dad i could go on for hours about how amazing of a person he is.

for ✨ obvious reasons ✨ i'm not using anyone's real name.

as you can probably guess the academic rival guy (person b for those of you who read my academic rival prompts) who i keep ranting about is in this class. we've recently had a fight. i will not be speaking favorably about him. i will be calling him Red. person c from those same prompts is just as much of a pain in the ass irl. she and i have a lot of beef and i will be calling her Mirror. more names will be given as is required.

there isn't that much i can say about that particular session yesterday because it's too specific and someone's going to find out what i mean very easily. but something really hit me -- mr. teacher dad is the one who does placement for this class.

for context, he and i were hanging out before class as we usually do and he was telling me he needed to figure out the placement for this class for next year's group because they needed to send out The Emails.

i know what The Emails are, i got one. i'd say about 7/10 people in our class did. those are what tell you if you got in or not. if you don't get in you're allowed to appeal and take a test and based on that they let you in (if you even have the guts to say you want to take the test you get in tbh it's so easy to pass but whatever this is just me hating on Mirror because she got rejected then took the test and got in).

but the point. he chose who got in. he chose us. the fact that he looked at my profile and decided i was good enough is just -- damn. keep in mind this man is my idol. it's like a taylor swift fan being told they're a good singer BY TAYLOR SWIFT HERSELF.

it also made me think about the one person who joined -- she's really sweet, we're friends. but at the end of last year about five people went to see mr. teacher dad to ask him to join and he said no to each and every one saying there was no way they could make up for the material they missed. her, however, he let her join as long as she made up the material over the summer. she did.

it makes me think. he chose us -- and not just because we're smart. he saw something in us that made him put us in his class.

i'm dying to know what. but whenever we're all together, i feel it. we have a dynamic. we're a family. we have everything and nothing in common.

and he saw it.

it's genuinely beautiful.

First of all, I want say that I appreciated the communication. When my reading could not be done right away, I was told and was given a time frame for receiving it. I still received the reading in a timely fashion, but the communication was important to me. Second of all, I enjoyed the reading.
