Kara and Heat
Follow-up to L-Corp, Chill, and Scotch (Lena's POV) and Catco and Family (Kara's POV)
Lena's smile didn't reach her eyes, and her heart murmur sounded more pronounced. Kara gave her a hopeful smile as she handed over Lena's favorite Irish scones.
"Piping hot and direct from Ireland," Kara said, cheerfully. She was still in her supersuit since she hadn't given herself time to change before she dropped by to hand it off.
"Thank you?" The way Lena spoke made it sound like a question. "Are you not concerned what others will think, Supergirl? You, giving me, gifts as if we are..." Her heartrate abruptly sky rocketed, and she looked away, her scent profile switching to a more acidic one. "... dating?"
Kara tilted her head. "Why would that bother me? I'd be honored."
Lena's breath hitched. "I -- I see." Footsteps signaled the approach of Sam, and the door to Lena's office opened. "Ah, Sam's here to review--"
"I -- I thought Sam was in Metropolis?" Kara looked past her toward the other woman, who walked up to Lena's desk and dumped her briefcase on it with a thump. Lena winced.
"She returned." Lena gestured vaguely with her free hand. "Surely you've read Andrea's exclusive? She's taking over as CEO. I will be a research consultant."
No, Kara had no idea. "Oh. You didn't mentioned it. Andrea has me doing what cafe has the best scones at the moment."
Lena looked down at the box and fiddled with its lid. "I -- I can talk to her about that."
"No, don't bother. She'll just take it out on someone else." It'd been several weeks of Kara trying so hard to talk with Lena, to bring her breakfast and other gifts, and Lena still won't look her in the eye. Then came the complexity of Andrea as a boss. If Kara had to write another article about cafe scones, she might torch her new workstation.
"I see. How is that going?" Lena glanced back at Sam, that forced smile still on her face.
"Andrea took away my office." Kara slouched against the railing on Lena's balcony. "I know you set that up for me because of my hearing issues. Those walls were a blessing. I don't know what kind of glass you used, but it cut out half the sound of the city and I could focus. No one uses the office now."
"She-- she did?" Lena frowned. "Kara, how much does your hearing bother you? Since you can..." she waves her hand toward the city at large.
Kara hesitated. The urge to lie still pulsed, and she had to actively fight it. "The glasses I wear? They have lead in them, which dimmed my supersenses to some degree. I have gotten better at filtering out sounds, but..." She nibbled on her bottom lip. "Okay, picture yourself standing next to a gun, but you have no ear protection. Now amplify the gunshot sound by a hundred -- no a thousand."
"Jesus, Kara." Lena's eyes widened. "Is that how it is now?"
"Why do you think I like this balcony?" Kara patted the concrete railing. "I'm up high enough that the sound takes longer to move through the air to reach me. The longer time also pulls some of its energy out of the sound, thus it's quieter. I can still hear when bad things happen up here, but it's not like an explosion in my ear like it is when someone slams a door or a phone rings at full volume next to me."
"Ah." Lena tilted her head to study Kara for a long moment. Kara assumed her thoughts were still on the hearing issue, but her next words end up as whiplash for Kara. "Kara, why are you doing this?" She held up the scones.
Kara blinked. "Because you're Lena? And I wanted to do something special for you."
"Right..." Lena sighed. "Look, Sam is waiting, and I really must be going. I'll give Andrea a call and tell her to stop breaking ADA. We have on record your accommodation request, and she can't violate that for no good reason."
"Lena," Kara stared, unsure whether to be delighted or worried. The sudden topic change had her floundering. "You don't have to--"
"When I signed the sale, part of that was an addendum for her to follow the accommodation requests to the letter." Lena's voice turned frosty. "I do not like hearing she's violating it already." She pivoted and muttered under her breath, "typical of her."
Had Lena forgotten that Kara could still hear her? She watched Lena greet Sam and offer her a scone. Neither glanced at Kara, who stood on the balcony still.
She hadn't meant to listen in, but she couldn't stop herself.
"So, you really okay with Ruby and I staying with you? It might be a few weeks to sort out the housing situation," Sam asked right before she bit into the scone. "Holy shit, this is good."
"From Ireland directly. And yes, it's fine. You're family, Sam." Lena reached over to grasp her shoulder. "Stay as long as you need. And eat your fill." She pushed the box closer to Sam. "I'm not hungry."
"Lena, you're never hungry these days." Sam frowned. "Please eat one scone."
"What are you my dietician?" Lena snapped.
"Hun, that doesn't work on me. I'm a mother." Sam took out a scone, laid out a napkin, and placed it in front of Lena. "No starving yourself on my watch. Now let's talk contracts."
That was when Kara learned several important things:
Sam currently stayed at Lena's, and Lena invited her to stay as long as she liked.
Lena knew Andrea well enough to suspect she'd cause harm.
Lena wasn't eating, and it had Sam worried.
Kara had no idea what to do with this information, because the second one had to be wrong. Surely.
Lena would never choose to hurt Kara on purpose, right?
The thought disturbed her so much that she shot off the balcony fast enough to cause a wake strong enough to rattle Lena's windows.
***
Lena sat at her counter, her feet perched on a rung, as she tabbed through the coding program. Her original idea she had to shelve because Sam's insistence that it was mind-control made her feel far too much like Lex.
She didn't want to be like Lex. As much as it hurt that he died by her hand, she could not forget what he wrote in his journals about her. He wrote of her as if she was a chess piece, and it had felt so dehumanizing. It's why she'd been so determined to hunt him down. She needed to face him and find out why.
Facing him had brought her right into his hands. He knew she'd find him there, and had prepared for the reveal. With his typical theatrics, he'd unveiled the truth in a way to cause maximum harm. The glee on his face as he did it? The way he laughed at her pain? Like always, he found a way to tug the rug out of the things she cared about.
She loved him, yet she'd killed him. He had been surprised at first that she'd done it, but even that hadn't stopped his plan. He'd gone through it as he struggled to breathe. His last words mocked her, and he was right. She was a fool.
Anger seared through her. Was that all she was? A chess piece for her brother and the Kryptonians? She slammed her laptop shut and stalked to the alcohol cabinet.
Except it was empty. That's right. Sam hid the alcohol. Ruby had a tendency to search the cabinets for snacks, eating what had once been saved for Kara.
But Lena suspected she hid it to also avoid moments like this. Where the urge to drink herself into oblivion saturated every fiber in Lena's being.
Dammit, it was her alcohol. She could drown herself in it as much as she liked.
After twenty minutes, she found the alcohol in the bedroom she gave Sam. Tucked into the back of the closet. She nabbed a bottle of scotch and stormed outside to sit on her balcony. She didn't bother with a glass. Opened it and drank directly from the bottle.
The scotch's heat did little to drown the pain in her heart.
At least one thing hadn't played in Lex's favor. Sam Arias threw a wrench into whatever he had planned.
She glared at the sky, at the faint dots of stars washed out in the glow of the city. Light pollution that made the sky treacherous for nocturnal life, which she could fix.
Leaning over her balcony, she scanned the city streets as she took another drink. Easy fix. Replace the hoods of all street lights so the light pointed down. It'd be more efficient and less energy waste too.
What else could she fix? All those rooftops could either be solar panels or community gardens. Be all self-sufficient or something.
She took another chug of the bottle. Making a gun with her other hand, she pretended to shoot at nearby buildings.
All that glass and concrete. Ugly as hell. Thermal equilibrium on hot days won't work with this architecture, as it was made for height and aesthetics, not thermal equilibrium, so hot days meant higher bills for air conditioning.
But how to fix that? She took another long drink. In the distance she heard the sound of waves. "Algae," she said out loud and giggled. That wouldn't work but moss should. Grow moss up the concrete and steel. A green city that would improve the thermal equilibrium, and less power on air conditioning.
What else? Her thoughts grew more erratic, ideas that were semi-connected, danced from moss to architecture to more efficient solar panels.
Ideas her and Sam sort of covered, but those had been silly mostly. This could change things for the better.
"Fixing everything but my heart," she muttered. She peered into the bottle. She still had more left.
Even if she did all these projects and some of Sam's silly ones, would it make any difference? Would it heal the pain in her heart?
Maybe if she refused to rest. Dove into her work and not allowed her mind to rest like this. The pain became unbearable in evenings, and with the transition to Sam as CEO, it meant more time for Lena's projects, but she couldn't even make up her own damn mind.
She wanted to fix the world. To end suffering still, but she hated the thought of Ruby or Sam hurt by what Sam insisted was mind-control. She couldn't lose them.
They were all she had left.
She had almost finished the bottle when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her.
"Don't even, Sam," Lena growled, not bothering to turn around. "I'll drink as much as I like. So don't try me."
"Um, I'm not Sam."
She pivoted and almost lost her balance. Kara stood a few feet away in her supergirl outfit. She pointed the bottle at her. "You live in that now? Or is Kara Danvers no longer a thing? Since you know, you're trying being honest for once."
She recognized she was drunk, but at this point, she did not care.
"I was doing laps and heard your heartbeat spike," Kara admitted.
"Laps?" Lena frowned. "Like sky laps?" She wiggled her finger in the air in what she hoped was a a circle.
"Yeah. When I'm upset I..." Kara sighed. "Lena, you're not okay, are you? I -- I heard you weren't eating, and now you're... drunk." Kara's nose wrinkled.
"Oh? Can you smell it? Supersmell too?" Lena stepped closer and stabbed Kara's chest with her bottle. "What other secrets you keep from me?"
Kara's brow wrinkled. "You know them all now. I mean it. I promise to never lie again."
Lena laughed. "Oh, that's good. Real good. You almost had me there." She took another swig but nothing was left. Annoyed, she tossed the bottle at Kara's chest. It shattered and the glass fell to the ground between them.
"Lena..." Kara looked at the debris with a frown.
"You're impenetrable," Lena said with a flick of dismissal. "It can't hurt you and your perfect body."
Why did she have to look so damn hot in that suit? The skirt had been bad enough for Lena's libido, but these pants? The one's she'd designed and gave to Brainy to finish? All those interwoven layers, some anti-kryptonite fibers she'd devised with Brainy's assistance, hugged Kara's impressive guns and rock-solid abs.
Fuck.
She was too drunk for these thoughts.
"How about you go inside and drink some water?"
Lena laughed. "You, the liar, cares about me? That's rich."
"You're drunk and standing very close to a railing on a very tall building!" Kara gently pushed her away from the edge. "And yes I care! I've always cared. Honest."
She wanted to yell at Kara. To beat her fists against Kara's perfect chest. Instead, she grabbed the front of Kara's suit and pulled her close. Far too close, her breath hot against Lena's own, and that nearly unraveled her willpower.
God, why did she have to look so damn hot all the time? The heat of Kara's gaze only worsened Lena's struggle.
Fuck.
It'd be so easy to just kiss her. To shove her against the building and give in to her raging libido. Her lips hovered closer to Kara's. Heat radiated from Kara's body, scorching her, and Lena desperately wanted Kara to take her right there.
Her stomach had other ideas, however. Nausea clawed its way up from her stomach, her only food that entire day what Sam had insisted she eat -- a scone and half a salad.
She closed her eyes.
No use, her stomach rebelled, and she puked over Kara's irritatingly perfect boots.
"Well, that's one way to deal with alcohol poisoning," Kara said.
Lena didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Warm arms scooped her up and cradled her against Kara's chest. "Let's get you inside." With far more tenderness than she deserved, Kara laid her on the sofa and tucked a blanket around her.
Lena briefly closed her eyes, the glare of the lights too bright. She peaked when footsteps sounded next to her. Kara had placed on the coffee table a glass of water, pain and nausea meds, and a large bowl. Kara stood next to the sofa, but instead of the suit, she wore sweatpants and a hoodie.
"Where's the suit?" God, she had a headache already.
"Nanotech." Kara touched her glasses. "When I put these back on, it retreats. He said you helped design it."
"Yeah, yeah." Lena waved her hand at Kara. "Supergirl's an ass, but I don't want her dead."
"Oh. Thank you."
She took a pain med and drank some water, but that unsettled her stomach, so she laid down and covered her eyes. "What're you doing here anyway?"
"Your heartbeat." Kara sounded timid, scared almost. "I -- I listen to it to make sure you're okay. Since, you know, the universe keeps trying to hurt you. And, well, you have a murmur. It's gotten worse."
Lena blinked at Kara, confused.
She had a what?
"Your heart. I -- I can hear it, and you have a murmur." Kara sounded embarrassed almost. "But you're drunk, so I'll wait until your sober."
Lena couldn't think of a response, so she closed her eyes and ignored Kara instead.
***
Kara hadn't lied to Lena. The heart murmur had been part of what she hoped to talk about, but she'd also wanted to ask her about whether she was failing to eat again. She didn't want Lena to get anemia again, that had worsened the heart murmur, and she still felt guilt over whether bringing that up might have saved Lena a few trips to the emergency room, during her first year in National City.
One of the many reasons Kara decided to just eat lunch with Lena as much as possible.
Bu that hadn't been her only reason either.
She wanted to ask if her and Sam were just friends or something more.
And yet, maybe she'd gotten her answer to that one. Lena had almost kissed her.
Was that just the alcohol? Or had Lena always wanted to kiss her?
To have Lena lean that close? Kara felt like she'd gone up in flames, and the urge to kiss Lena had hit her so hard that she'd been breathless.
Sure, the thought had hit her randomly during their long friendship, but it had been a random, idle thought she dismissed easily.
Now she found she couldn't. Lena's breath had been hot against her lips, and they tingled still as if they had kissed.
Kara landed on the fire escape stairs at her apartment and glanced toward downtown, a mile away. Leaving Lena hadn't been what she wanted, but she'd heard Sam and Ruby in the hallway, and it hadn't seemed a good idea to face Sam.
She'd been too rattled by the almost kiss.
She opened her window and slid through, deactivating her suit as she did so.
Instead, Lena had been drunk, antagonistic, and confusing.
Hadn't she said at the Pulitzer's that she would always be Kara's friend? Her hot and cold nature confused.
Something else was wrong.
Did Lena blame her for Lex's death?
Oh Rao.
Kara dropped face first onto her sofa. Why hadn't she thought of that sooner?
She knew Supergirl failed to save her brother. Knew Lex was dead. She still loved her brother, despite how mean he was to her.
Kara groaned. If Lena blamed her, then how could she fix that?
Apologize. Would that be enough?
Would anything ever be enough to make up for the fact Kara's at fault for her brother's death?
When Kara chose to become Supergirl, she had promised herself that she would not kill her enemies. No matter how easy it might seem, because she would not be like her mother.
She'd been angry still at being sent away, but when she learned the truth, she'd been angry at the legacy of her family and how that followed her to earth. Threatened life here, all because her mother and those like her had tossed people in the phantom zone instead of dealing with them in a more humane way.
She didn't want to be judge, jury, and executioner -- as Alex put it. She was here to help. Not be a god.
Except, she'd acted like one, hadn't she? Thinking she new what was best, trying to do it all herself, trying to control all the details. She’d controlled her and Lena’s relationship, held all the cards, all the information, and that hadn’t been fair, had it?
The worldkillers and Lex had taught her that she couldn't do it all herself. She needed a team to support her. Letting them help had been so hard, but hadn't that been a lesson Lena herself tried to teach her?
Lena had tried so hard to reach out to Kara after Mon-el's loss, and Kara had spurned her at first. Yet Lena persisted, and it had given Kara hope. Even if Kara kept fucking things up with Lena, she hadn't turned her back on Kara Danvers nor Supergirl, even if the trust had been fractured.
Had she lost Lena? Was she holding onto nothing but the ashes of a shattered friendship?
No, she couldn't believe that. There had to still be hope.
She couldn't stop herself. Her ears seemed perpetually tuned to Lena's heartbeat these days, and that awful murmur had gotten worse. It was louder and more frequent, and she didn't know enough human biology to assess what that meant.
Yet she listened to the heart murmur, to the slower heartrate of someone likely falling asleep.
When had Lena become the center of her life? It had crept up on her, and yet, that gift of her presence had been squandered by Kara herself. She'd been unable to fully let go of control, out of that wild fear of loss.
If she lost Lena because of Lex's death, what would she do? How could she move on?
No, no, she couldn't lose Lena, and yet, wasn't this entire situation her fault? She'd kept Lena in the dark. Messed up as Supergirl and hurt her. And now Lex was dead because of her.
How could Lena ever forgive her?
Tears stung her eyes. She hated herself. Hated how she couldn't do anything to fix this. Everything she tried seemed to increase the distance between her and Lena, and it hurt so much.

sorry, i'm genuinely confused by your s6 deancas conflict take. i don't think either is the bad guy but i think cas was doing what he could with what he had. i don't think he was in the wrong but i'm curious to know what you think he could've done to be in the right? be honest and upfront? that would jeopardize his mission and put him on the outs with dean. sure, that happened anyway but he did stop raphael
i've also always been confused by dean's "i was here where were you?" because was he though? when they did find out, they punished him and cut him off instead of idk, strategizing with cas. it was a lose/lose situation for cas from the get-go starting with his decision not to involve dean as much as he could help it because cas did care about him. if the issue was working with crowley, cas ended up double-crossing him anyway. if the issue was being dishonest, well, that's nothing new among the winchesters
anyway, i don't have a favorite between deancas because i could never pick but in s6 i very much sympathized with cas so again, i guess i'm curious what you think he could've done differently. i hope this ask doesn't annoy you too much
Let's separate this into two pieces. 1) What I actually said (i.e. the disk horse I was addressing) 2) The utility of Cas's plan to pop Purgatory.
First, what did I say today based partly on a post I made yesterday?
It’s not remotely hard to see that Cas repeatedly uses Dean without his knowledge throughout the season. But you’d think based on how 90% of destiel shippers talk that Cas was waiting on Dean hand and foot while having his own needs ignored by a callous asshole. That’s literally the story people try to tell you while Cas uses Dean for everything from spells to forced labor to a meat shield for Raphael and Virgil while only showing up when Sam and Dean having a lead on an angel weapon is mentioned. They just erase Cas’s problems in order to misrepresent and reduce Dean down to a mean friend who doesn’t deserve him.
I'm wasn't talking about the plan to pop Purgatory and the conflict that happens over it in 6.20 (we can address that in a moment). I'm talking about how a large chunk of destiel fandom erroneously argues that season 6 Dean is a bad friend throughout the entire season who only cared about Cas being useful to him, when Cas is the one who spends the entire season using Dean without his knowledge. You want to have a conversation about something slightly different, which is fine, but don't conflate two common streams of disk horse about separate things. They have some overlap yes—but don't get it twisted.
What could Cas have done differently?
Cas could have asked to use Dean's blood for a spell instead of yanking his wrist over and cutting his palm open for blood without a word, but instead, he did it without asking (and that small act sets the stage for how Cas treats Dean the entire season). Cas could have asked if Sam and Dean would look for leads for him on angelic weapons. He could have asked them if they would look for leads on Purgatory instead of secretly cosigning Crowley coercing them into forced labor capturing alphas. He could have asked them if they would keep Raphael and Virgil off his tail long enough for him and Balthazar to collect their weapons. Instead, Cas used them without their permission or knowledge. All Dean asks in these moments is to be told that Cas needs his help instead of being used without permission.
You seem certain that giving Sam and Dean any information would have "jeopardized his mission"... but how? Setting aside the actual utility of Cas's plan to pop Purgatory for now, Cas actually could have communicated what he needed in every single one of these situations without revealing his plan to pop Purgatory. In fact, that's exactly what he did with Balthazar, isn't it? But again—we're talking about two slightly different things here. EYE was talking about whether or not it's true that Dean was a mean and bad friend who didn't care that Cas needed help and never offered him assistance while Cas moped like a wet cat, back aching from bending over backwards to help Dean with *looks at notes* something. EYE pointed out that Cas absolutely did not fail to make Dean useful to him. He just didn't bother to tell Dean he was doing it. YOU are talking about whether or not the Cas's plan to pop Purgatory was the only viable solution to the Raphael problem and whether Dean should have supported Cas despite everything when the plot was revealed in 6.20. Again—this is a separate (though somewhat interrelated) discourse.
Despite all the crying about Bad Friend Dean, it was Cas who showed through his behavior throughout the season that he would rather treat Dean as a pawn than as a friend. Cas coerces and lies instead of just asking his friend for help. Forgive me if I'm not going to coddle him over it. If you've been in this fandom for a single moment, you know that the fanon fantasy of Dean being a horrible bad mean friend with a angelic guardian waiting on him hand and foot starts long before 6.20 when Dean rejects the finally revealed plan to pop Purgatory, and the whitewashing of Cas's actions and outright denial of Cas using Sam and Dean also starts long before then. So lets not move goal posts. I'm asking people to stop ignoring and misrepresenting every single thing that happened between Dean and Cas leading up to 6.20. I'm asking people to stop assigning all of those things only selective importance (i.e., they're only important when Dean was the "bad friend", but when Cas was, it didn't matter/didn't happen).
Now let's talk about "the plan to pop Purgatory" briefly and the utility of that plan and whether Dean not jumping to help Cas swallow every soul in Purgatory makes him a bad and mean and terrible friend. Multiple people in Cas's life tried to tell him his plans would backfire, and he didn't listen. He ended up starting an apocalypse which was the very thing he was trying to prevent. He just traded out Raphael for the Leviathan and made no meaningful progress toward an actual improvement in terms of "threats to the world as we know it". How exactly did he make anyone better off?
For some reason, some people insist on arguing that while it did backfire spectacularly, it was "the only option" to dispense with Raphael and "there was no other choice", but nobody saying that actually knows that. In fact from a meta/lore perspective, this is just... outright wrong. Archangels have been dealt with in any number of other ways over the course of the show. The Cage. A weird ass egg. The archangel sword. Spellwork. You can invent whatever goddamn lore you want. You cannot reasonably argue it was "the only option" when archangels repeatedly show up and are dispensed with in a variety of ways that aren't "swallowing all the souls in purgatory, going insane, declaring yourself god, and starting a new apocalypse so we're right back where we started".
The only reason "popping Purgatory" is the only plan we get in season 6 is that it's the only plan that Cas allows to be made. He refuses to so much as consider the possibility of anything else because he's so deeply caught in sunk cost fallacy. When Sam and Dean and Bobby finally learn what he's up to and disagree with his plan, Cas breaks Sam' brain to keep them out of his way. When Balthazar disagrees with his plan, Cas murders him.
i've also always been confused by dean's "i was here where were you?" because was he though? when they did find out, they punished him and cut him off instead of idk, strategizing with cas.
...No? It was the other way around.
6.20
Dean tried to get info on what was going on with Cas from 6.03 when he learned about the angelic war onward, and Cas would give vague answers then fly off. In 6.10, Dean asked if there was anything he and Sam could do and Cas said there wasn't. When he found out about Cas working with Crowley, Dean asked to brainstorm a new solution and work as a team and Cas refused to consider this for a single moment. He insisted nothing about his plan was broken despite multiple people warning him, and his own secret-keeping suggested his own conflicted feelings.

Mike and El's relationship is based on a lie.
Ok, that might be an exaggeration.
Mike and El's relationship is currently based on a lie.
Throughout season 4, it became obvious that Mike and El were not on the same page. El desperately wanted Mike to tell her he loves her, but he couldn't. He couldn't even write it. El made it very clear what she wanted, dare I say needed, from him. Despite this, Mike was still unable to say it.
The whole thing was heading towards collapse. Mike insisted that she was a superhero, which she didn't accept because her powers were gone. Indeed, she saw herself as a monster. When she had an opportunity to get her powers back, she mentioned in her note to Mike that she was going to be a superhero again. Whether you see that as a snide reminder that his interest in her was superficial or as her genuinely wanted to see herself as worthy of him again is up to you.
However, while she's away, El learns from Brenner that monsters and superheroes are fairy tale things. She needs to accept herself for who she was, fully, the good and bad. It's similar to Max's advice that she needed to figure out what she liked, who she was. To paraphrase Sam Wilson from Marvel, Brenner was out of line, but he was right. El wanting to get her powers back so she could be a superhero again is a childish idea. Those powers are just a fragment of who she is.
El does seem to come around on this as she faces her past. She accepts her past, her mistakes, and, in doing so, she suddenly has her powers back. She's ready to face things as a complete person.
Meanwhile, in the van, the lie that sets up the lie is laid down. Mike is feeling inadequate as a love interest for El. She has powers, so what does she need him for? He seems to believe El only keeps him around because she needs him. That's not love, however it hits Will hard to hear Mike put himself down. He gives Mike the painting, briefly glowing at Mike's giddiness when he sees it. However, he quickly swallows it down, remembering why he decided to do this now. He immediately credits El for the painting, telling him she requested it.
Will proceeds to tell Mike how important he is, and how hard it's been to be away from him. He tells him he's the heart, inspiring everyone to keep going no matter what happens. Mike is entranced by Will's words, seemingly ready to burst with affection in a way we've never seen before. However, Will is careful to make sure he credits it all to El, even though it's coming from his own feelings. He caps it off by telling Mike that El needs him, and she always will.
Fast forward to the pizza place. El seems ready to talk to Mike about something serious. She has a sad look on her face. It's certainly not the look one makes when they're reuniting with their boyfriend. It's not the way your face looks when you're expecting a happy conversation. Mike, on his part, seems worried, probably because Will led him to believe that El still needs him. I've looked at this scene time and time again, and it really looks like a gentle breakup is coming.
However, Argyle conveniently shows up to prevent the conversation from happening. Next thing we know, it's time to start the mission.
It quickly goes south. El is struggling and helpless, and the heroes in the real world are at a loss as to what to do. Nothing they say or do seems to have an effect.
Will reminds Mike that he's the heart, calling back to what he said in the van. It's a reminder of the lie that El needs Mike. So, he decides to do what she's begged him to do. However, the look on his face right before he does so is curious. Desperate situation aside, he seems pained to say it. He gets a look on his face right before that seems like he's bracing himself, like he knows he's about to do something wrong. Like it's something he knows he shouldn't do, but must do anyway.
He does it because he thinks she needs it.
It's debatable if it even helps. El does seem overcome with emotion, but it doesn't seem to help her free herself. That doesn't come until she sees Max about to die at Henry's hands, when Mike urges her to fight back. Then she's able to free herself, stop Henry, and, at least partially, save Max.
However, the lie has been laid, and it now ties them together. In a cruel twist, it's their compassion for each other that ensures the lie stays in place. Will's lie may have put this into motion, but Mike and El fell into their own lies out of concern for each other. Mike feels that El needs him, so he'll maintain the lie to avoid hurting her. El believes Mike loves her, so she'll maintain the lie to avoid hurting him.
I imagine that in season 5 we will see Mike and El going through the motions. It won't be a bad relationship, perse, like we've seen from them in the past two seasons. It may instead be more of an empty relationship, similar to Ted and Karen, except with a clear undertone of platonic affection. With Max out of commission, she's not around to point out how fucked up this whole situation is or encourage El to further explore her identity. Meanwhile, Will, the selfless idiot, will no doubt continue to quell Mike's concerns and work to keep this relationship together.
On a show that claims that "friends don't lie," it stands to reason that this lie will be revealed. Honestly, if they stay together past any time jump, it will already beg the question of how did the painting never come up? That right there changes everything since the painting and Will's words set everything into motion in the first place.
If I were writing the show, I would have all this happen in episode 1. Mike brings up the painting with El, only for her to reveal she knew nothing about it. He ruminates over it, wondering what it all must mean, but then plot happens and he's separated from El and forced to spend a lot of time with the person who lied to him. The person he thought would never lie to him.
They are forced to either talk about it or do increasingly impressive conversational gymnastics to avoid talking about it.
Meanwhile, it begins to become obvious to even the least insightful viewer that Mike's anger over the lie isn't simply because Will may have ruined his relationship with El. Because he'll realize that he's been lying, too. So has El.
The truth shall set them all free.

Magnus Protocol ARG
Im not sure if someone else has already done this (most likely) but I've been re-readin the magnus institute excell with all the kids names. Since the tests where psychological in nature I thought maybe I could figure out if the "Connor" Dyer profile worked for Alice. But I think I've found out something about Sam. This might be the most tin foil hat theory I've had in a while but it makes sense! I've connected the dots!!!!!
There's a couple of things I need to stablish first:
The names seem to be ranked from lowest to highest score on the empathy test.
Sam scored the highest, Gerry the second highest (Dyer is closer to the middle of the list).
The tests seem to relate to cognitive development, especially related to morality and empathy.
The Asch test measures your "conformity" aka, how susceptible you are to peer pressure. Basically, they ask you a question, everyone before you gives the wrong answer, and the test is whether you would give the correct answer or go with what the others said.
The Milgram test measures your obedience when in conflict with your morality. The (very) abridged version is: they tell you tu punish someone by shocking them with increasing voltages and if you refuse they ask you to continue. The experiment goes on until reaching 450 volts or if the participant completely refuses even when ordered to continue.
We know the Institute was trying to find Subjects, Agents and Catalysts (there's an amazing post about this from @alice-apparently )
Okay so I made a little excell with the relevant info:
Both Gerry and Dyer show low conformity and obedience levels. Which, knowing Gerry (and maybe Alice??) makes complete sense. We can assume that they both chose to give the correct answer even if everyone else answered differently, and they also refused to administer the punishment even when directly ordered.
Sam on the other hand, mr "would rather die than complain about being forcefed cake" did in fact go with what most people said instead of the correct answer. He also finished the Milgram experiment, going against his moral compass to obey the instructions.
I think they were trying to find viable subjects to groom into avatars for the eye. Hear me out. The kids with the lowest empathy score show high scores in the Milgram test (makes sense, they don't care as much about hurting people) but from 80% empathy forward no one scores high. No one except Sam, the one with the highest empathy score.
Why not just pick the one's with the least empathy? the least empathetic kids were also the youngest and the ones with lowest cognitive developement (I do not go in deph about the other test but you can see the scores for yourself here). This kids aren't useful yet, because maybe they'll become more empathetic (And as such, more resistent to the Milgram test) as they grow up/develop.
Not Sam. He has perfect scores in every single development test, he has the highest empathy and yet he's the most likely to be influenced to harm other people.
In episode 10 Sam confirms his obsession with finding out why they didn't chose him despite having the highest scores. Gerry was the second highest and he didn't get picked either. My theory is that Sam was indeed chosen, and the fact that he shows no survival instincts when it comes to figuring this mystery out is prove.
His test results show someone whiling to file useless papeworks with extremely personal information because "well, you're supposed to even if no one reads it". Also Teddy leaving for a job that somehow didn't actually exist smells like somebody trying to free a spot in the very Eye-coded OIAR. A spot that Sam is more than happy to accept.
I don't know if this is an incredibly long con to condition Sam into the perfect vessel for the eye or if the Magnus Institute had to change plans after burning down. If it's the latter I can see them being very happy when their specialest little boy signed up for the OIAR and fell right into their laps again. Either way, Sam's fucked.

The conversation Alice had with a fan and you mention that there is stong language tell more about that? Was it her who used it to the fan and was it fan who did that or talking shit about Sam?
I think you meant t write 'slip' 😉
So yes, before all kind of crazy stories start to occur, and this is actually the subject I wanted to address but as well had to think about how to do it in a correct way, as honest as I possibly can but also with integrity.
You see, it concerns DMs, and yes, meanwhile someone showed them to me and I have read them. I could surely have said no, I don't want that, but at the same time, I had 2 Anons claiming Alice had answered fans in DM. I showed you part of the Anon message:
"Alice has been replying to a fan in DM this I know 10000% saying Sam followed her and sent her DM and now she’s posted in London."
The rest was more or less calling Sam out, so i didn't like to post that part.
So I felt a bit in dubio, one side doesn't want to be secretive, the other side is thinking, those are DMs, not meant for public consumption to begin with.
Also, I need to emphasize that I was shown these DMs second hand. There is no way I can verify. I'm not saying I don't trust the person who showed them to me, I'm merely saying, I can not verify how genuine they are, is this really what this person in DM said or not. So I really would emphasize this and keep that in mind when reading the rest of this post.
I'm not literally gonna write what was in the DMs, but will try to give an objective summary of it.
I saw 2 DM convo's, by 2 fans separately and not at the same time with Alice. One DM convo was short, fan asking, she answered, th other was a little longer more a little convo. Both starting with asking her how she got Sam following her. She answered both. (which I have to say I find surprising, it is quite easy to ignore). But okay, she seemed to have answered both of them. Telling how Sam slid into her DMs, now I don't feel that is something new, that part we know (hence I feel I can tell that part). And Anon 2, i don't know when, I just know he started following her on 13 June. She went on with more personal stuff he did and said they DM-ed daily.
But she was also sort of bragging that he invited her to London. Now both DMs were before this weekend. One started on 20 June, and they ended last Wednesday. So nobody knew by then Sam was going to be in London and at the tennis match. My Anon also wrote Fridaynight, before we knew he was in London, but she wrote because Alice posted a picture tagging her hotel in London. And yeah, your question ismy question as well, why on earth did she felt the need to advertise that?
Then in both DMs she suddenly (and imo unnecessarily) said something on Sam's behalve which was not so nice. Something both fans I know felt hurt by. You could say, perhaps he told her about fans harassing women he's been connected with somehow, but from what i saw these fans were not harassing, were asking her something in a friendly way, curiosity, she could have ignored, or simply have given a short answer without all the rest. I feel it was not her place to say something like that on his behalf, whether it is true or not, it was not on her to do so.
I'm not gonna spell out what exactly was said, but it was unkind, hurtful for the (curious) fans, and unnecessary. I know some might have their thoughts about the fans contacting her, and I in no way would encourage anybody to do so (and I surely never did or will do so myself). But that is not a reason to be hurtful and say things on someone else's behalf that hurt his fans.
As said, and i emphasize again I can not verify this all, if that is really what she said. And that is also why I wish not to spell something like that out, here my integrity is at play. I just can say, the DMs didn't look fabricated/photoshopped or anything. But I just can't verify.
Anyway, whatever happened to Be Kind!?

BUT i will also ask for everlasting trio >:)
"Okay, look." Danny sucked in a long breath. "I've thought about this long and hard, right? And you know, I really don't think I want to do this, soooo, now that I've come to that decision, we can just call this good, yeah?"
Sam scoffed. "Fat chance, Fenton. You're doing this whether you like it or not. Quit being such a baby."
"You just gotta relax!" Tucker said, clapping a hand on Danny's shoulder. "It's really not as bad as it seems."
"You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding. This is, like, more dangerous than fighting Plasmius, the Ghost King, and - I don't know, Clockwork all at the same time!"
"Why would you be fighting Clockwork?"
"You do remember he tried to kill him the first time we met him?" Sam asked apathetically. "I'm getting tired of this. You've got one more chance before I come up there and manhandle you into doing this, ghost boy."
Danny balked, turning paler than normal. "You guys don't get it! I'm just -" He snapped his mouth shut as he realized he'd been about to spill something he very much did not want to spill.
Unfortunately for him, Tucker and Sam knew him too well. They stuck him each with their own look of suspicion. "You're just what?" Tucker asked.
But Danny didn't answer. Instead, he slouched in on himself, folding into a position Jazz would surely give him an earful of a lecture on the importance of good posture if she saw him like this. "It's nothing," he grumbled. "You two would just laugh."
Though he didn't see it, Tucker and Sam exchanged a look. Sam's face softened from utter irritation to mild disdain as she saw the pitiful puppy-dog face Tucker was giving her. Seriously? she asked with her eyes.
Yes, seriously! He needs this.
I don't want to coddle him!
It's not coddling, it's called supporting our boyfriend in his time of need.
Sam let loose a loud sigh. "We're not gonna laugh at you, Danny. If it really means that much to you."
Danny cast them a sidelong look. "Right. Because you sound so genuine about it."
"C'mon, you know she means it," Tucker prodded gently. "She's just being her sassy Sam self."
"Hey!"
"If there's something on your mind," he continued, ignoring Sam's protest, "we want to hear it. That's what we're here for."
"There's a reason we love you, dork," she said, a smile finally crossing her face as she punched Danny lightly in the arm.
Danny couldn't help but crack a tiny grin of his own. "You promise you won't laugh?"
"Mmm, within reason."
He sighed and somehow slouched into his seat further. "I'm... scared, alright? I'm scared of this."
Sam laughed.
Immediately, Danny whirled around to face her, eyes blazing. "You promised!"
"Sorry, sorry!" she said between giggles. "Okay, sorry. For real. But seriously, what's there to be scared of? It can't be any scarier than flying, and you do that all the time."
"It's way scarier than flying! At least when I'm flying I have control! How am I supposed to have control over this?"
"That's the point of practicing," Tucker said. "So that way you do have control. Like I said, it's really not that bad once you get the hang of it."
"You won't know till you try," Sam taunted in a sing-song voice.
Danny's eyes flickered back and forth between his partners. Tucker wore his heart on his sleeve often enough for him to know he meant his words. Sam preferred to hide behind a mask of indifference and righteous indignation, but she couldn't hide her true feelings from him after so many years.
"Fine," he grumbled, sitting up. "I'll try. And I'm sure I'll regret it."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ten minutes later, the three sat with pale faces and clenched fists.
"How. Did you manage. To do that?" Sam whispered in bewilderment.
Danny's hands refused to let go of their hold. "I tried to tell you!"
Tucker shook visibly. "I thought you were exaggerating when you said you drive worse than your dad!"
"How could I possibly exaggerate that?"
Sam's poor little Impala sat perfectly nestled at an angle, straddled between two of the dumpsters behind the Nasty Burger. The little blob ghost clan who had claimed the dumpsters as their home had come out to investigate the commotion and were currently cuddling up to the three shell-shocked teens, chirping in an effort to calm them down.
"I want to know how you always forget you literally have the power to turn intangible!" Sam punctuated her statement with another punch to Danny's arm, this one harder than the last.
"Well, excuse me! I'd like to see you try to remember that sort of thing when you're in the heat of the moment!"
"I really can't believe that somehow, Danny Fenton is a worse driver than his dad," Tucker whistled, unfazed by the argument happening to his side.
Two of the blob ghosts, Jeff and Ketchup, glanced at each other from their spot squished against Danny's stomach before returning to their cuddle session. Nothing really out of the ordinary when these three were involved.
#danny phantom#danny fenton#sam manson#tucker foley#everlasting trio#ask hannah#ask game#dooshek#LONG LIVE TEAM DANNY FENTON IS A GOD AWFUL DRIVER#for the record#i had this idea long before that poll came out#and long before kad and i laughed about how terrible of a driver danny would be#and long before we made the playlist he would make in an attempt to get valerie to let him drive#thanks for the ask!!

After I read your latest Mezzo chapter (Chef’s kiss!) I started another reread of the whole series. (The fifth? Sixth? I lost track ^^) Anyway, I just came across the “MSV Fleur de Lis” incident that ends in Wong being expelled from the team and consists of one of the few (if not the only) glimpses we get on how Sam is around children.
Not for the first time I thought about your take on whether or not he and Kaidan will be having kids in the future. I can totally relate to Kaidan’s way of thinking - not wanting to “burden” Sam with another responsibility but making it possible for him to live a life just for himself. And nobody else.
I was wondering - do you think they’ll talk about this? Is that a decision they make together? Or is it just Kaidan who decides for the both of them without actually telling Sam? Will that ever be a topic? What would Sam do if he realizes at one point that Kaidan gave something up for him? Assuming Kaidan would like to have kids ..
This is a really excellent question with a complicated answer because their writer makes it complicated. Kids are unfortunately a very sensitive subject for me to write about (this question is absolutely fine or I wouldn't have answered it), so in essence I am making this decision for them and backing into why it's in character, because a life with kids is not something I can write about.
I'm saying this mostly to give a peek into some of the writing process. Especially in fanfic, where events and decisions and character beats can come predefined, sometimes the question you have to ask yourself isn't "how does this character respond to X," it's "this character responded to X with Y, why did that happen?" In this case I am defining the character response to this question because it's a boundary for me, but now it's my job as the writer to make sure that decision feels in character.
Anyway - do Sam and Kaidan talk about this decision? Probably, even if it doesn't wind up on the page. You're right - Sam is good with kids. I wanted that glimpse you get in Cantata to show that. There's a Cantata-era story I really, really want to find the time to write that is based around the thought that sometimes we become the people we needed when we were young. I think part off the reason Sam is good with kids comes from the fact that he grew up with an inattentive, distant parent, so he gives kids his full attention. Also, he had an interrupted childhood. There's a part of him that didn't get to be a kid, so kids bring out the kid in him that never got to be.
But I do think the fact he is so much like his mother would scare him when it comes to the possibility of parenthood. He might bring up kids thinking that it's something Kaidan might want, and Sam's a giver. But he'd probably feel a lot trepidation over the suggestion, and relief when Kaidan kindly, but firmly says no.
Kaidan knows Sam, and knows how easily he'll compromise himself to make someone he cares about happy, so he might keep it close to the vest why he doesn't want kids. Because if Sam sniffs out that it's because Kaidan doesn't want Sam to have to feel that pressure, he'd probably push back thinking he's taking something away from Kaidan.
But I think Kaidan believes it for himself, too. They have given up so much and done so much, that they deserve to be a little selfish. He's shared Sam with an entire galaxy for years. In many ways, Commander Shepard will always belong to other people. So wanting to keep Sam for himself is something I can see him feeling, and wanting to relieve Sam of the need to give up more of himself for kids would make it easier for him to want that out loud.
I think I might have said this before, so forgive me if I'm repeating it, but I do think that Sam has a lot of contact with Tuchanka after the war, and a sort of unspoken trend of krogan mothers bringing their young to Sam as a form of "pilgrimage" gains steam in the aftermath. He makes a lot of trips to Tuchanka, and krogan are known to bring their children to the orchard.
Helping to bring future generations to the krogan would be a type of 'fatherhood' Sam would be very, very proud of.

Hello! I have a new drinking game suggestion! If you haven't listened to that podcast yet (the part about Outlander and Sam starts at 51:00) how about a sip every time she mentions her recommendations for watching the series, stressing that it's something scorching? Also, every time it is said that he is single and dates a lot, in addition to being 🔥 The segment lasts about three minutes, surely no one could get drunk in such a short amount of time!
Dear Drinking Game Anon,
Please forgive the delay - almost everybody, even the trolls, answered the salvo of Deux Moi (that is a bastardized translation of 'Me Too', I bet the farm) Anons and perhaps you found me wanting. Oh, well: I never gave three dried shits about being FIRST.
Not even #sorry for the length, Anon.
That podcast is some mighty BS you are kindly asking me to dissect for you. So I just listened to that S focused bit again, as I am writing the answer. Fasten your seat belts.
I mean, where the hell do I begin? Everything is so unlikeable and so cheap about that podcast, I could start wondering if *urv is not poor man's Deux Moi, if you see what I mean (she came in first, alas). No, they don't give a flying fuck about S, in fact both of them have no idea even who he is, since they are mispronouncing his name repeatedly and need to check Wikipedia for his basic trivia. Their cackle does not really bring anything new to the table and it has all the predictable bits: his fandom 'who thinks he is dating his costar' (zero about the Mommies, its most vocal part, who definitely think he doesn't - interesting, huh?), him being on Raya and 'obviously dating' (yeah, yeah, we've seen the results, Dubai Hooker and then 'No Toxic People' on top), OL being a 'historical fantasy series, like GoT' (Lord give me strength), but you know, chock a block filled with sex (😱🤣). So it all boils down to the girl being 'identified in DMs' (by who, I wonder? 'Always Hands On' *urv?) as a 'creative type'. The core of the debate was, in fact, whether it was or not a first date and what about the lack of drinks on that table - it never occurred to them Einsteins that was a dead giveaway of those pictures being totally staged, eh?
Nothing to write home about and I honestly fail to see where the fuck did those women notice the girl 'lovingly gazing' at S. At any rate, this is so artificial I could cry and it does sound like a quid pro quo type of favor Deux Moi did to PR. It actually gave me the same 'shoehorned in' feeling as C's Remarkable Weekend non-photos featured in that magazine, in 2019. The two 'gossip columnists' clearly didn't prepare anything at all about it and DGAF pretending to be plausible liars. One more time, it felt cheap and a desperate retcon of the Dubai Hooker Walk of Shame, plus the added insult to injury Alice Don't Panikian was.
But, as always, there's more to it. And at this point, I do wonder why and actually how on Earth nobody in this fandom ever thought to find out what the fuss was about Deux Moi, at all.
[I was brutally cut, just here, Anon, by the worst power outage in our neighborhood for ages - heat does that to old, clunky European capitals. Sorry for that.]
Deux Moi came out of obscurity during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people were locked down at home, bored and depressed. It markets itself as a gossip column with a twist, almost never checks facts and apparently has no problem being seen by many as a neo Hollywood Dumpster Diver of sorts. To counter all sorts of possible legal problems, it launched itself and prospered because of the mandatory 'Anon pls' opening to each and every submission. It allows them to never feel or take any responsibility for the content it posts. The reason she can do this is the US Supreme Court's 1964 decision New York Times vs. Sullivan, which allowed media (including gossip sites) more liberty in expressing their opinions. It only sanctions actual malice in doing so, which simply means that if you hate Steven Cree (random example) and publicly comment he is a talentless bore, there is nothing he or his PR can do about it. But if you publicly comment that Steven Cree is a pedophile or a drug addict (OTT made-up stuff inserted here on purpose) and you fail to prove it with facts, well - that is actual malice all the way. You'd better pawn your silver spurs and sell your first born, because they will come to get you and won't do it with grace. In fact, as recently as 2022, the US Supreme Court refused to revise its doctrine on this particular point of law, further linking it to the US Constitution's First Amendment, that deals with free speech and strongly protects it:
[more on this, here: https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/27/politics/supreme-court-new-york-times-sullivan/index.html - make no mistake, this is a very high profile political decision, for obvious reasons; therefore, I shall not further comment, you make up your own mind about it, according to your own creed. But I know what I think, and what I think is the analogy was promoted by a very conservative Supreme Court].
Deux Moi will never be that sophisticated, but that does not mean it was never above any possible threats & scandal. Its public image heavily relies on the mystique of an incognito mastermind, who, like the Mahdi, Shia Islam's Hidden Twelfth Imam, walks this Earth and sees/knows everything. From there to eternity, victimization is never far away:
[full article, here: https://www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/celebs/a43620663/deux-moi-identity-dark-side/ - I don't believe a single word of what the person shares, just so you know; for many reasons].
I mean, she is no Louella Parsons, no Hedda Hopper, hell - not even Liz Smith. And funny she mentions Taylor Swift (who I like more and more by the day, hahaha), who went for her via her PR, recently, in quite a clear fashion:
Wow, mother of all dragons: ' a marriage ceremony in the UK', that 'wasn't (...) legal (...) and wasn't made official'. Excuse me? RINGS A FUCKING BELL IN OUR OWN BACKYARD? Hell yes, rings a fucking steamer foghorn. Anyways, Tree Paine was not amused at all and the excuses were paltry, to say the least:
Sorry for the long quote, Anon, but I found Glamour's piece very enlightening, for once:
[our Spanish mafia girls could read the whole article here: https://www.glamour.com/story/taylor-swifts-publicist-tree-paine-thinks-deux-moi-needs-a-reality-check]
I still wonder why this 2021 'Anon pls' was never disputed and at least partially proven true:
Even better, check out this Reddit thread, just to see what The Casuals commented:
[whole thread, here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/nzx8mw/ok_i_am_dying_to_know_who_this_is_about/]
I wouldn't describe this as people being exactly 'shocked'. Interesting reactions, at any rate, and not a Stan in view.
Go figure, indeed.
I hope this answers your ask, Anon. It took me a long while to write, due to unforeseen reasons, but I certainly did it with pleasure and two or three well-placed grins.

I FORGOT NOW THAT IM ON TUMBLR WITH OTHER PEOPLE WHO SHARE MY HYPERFIXATION I CAN TALK ENDLESSLY ABOUT THIS SHIT WITHOUT HAVING TO SHRINK IN ON MYSELF WHEN I REALIZE NO ONE IS ACTUALLY LISTENING/ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT WHAT IM TALKING SO PASSIONATELY ABOUT-
Okay- so- I am a firm believer that Sam was absolutely right (back in the audio where Darlin' and Sam had just been informed that Quinn's work had been spotted out in the open-) when he mentioned that the body that was found could've very well been bait for Darlin'. I 100% believe it was meant to be bait for them. Like,,, as much as I parade around screaming about how stinky and stupid dumb-dumb Little Orphan Quinnie is, I know for a fact that he's not actually that much of an idiot. That being said, he definitely knows about the blood bond, and that body being dropped was basically him saying "I know we're connected, so come and get me." He's absolutely smarter than we all want him to be- I mean, he's a 50y/o vamp who was turned by old blood, we're kinda forced to give credit where it's due. We heard back in Sam's first audio that Quinn tends to clean up his messes pretty damn well—save for Fred and Bright, as Sam also mentioned—so, to me, there is no way in any hell that Quinn just "accidentally forgets to clean up a body." He knows he's being hunted by the Department. And he knows that somehow, Darlin' will catch wind of that body with the hopes that they'll come right to him where he can finally get things done and wrapped up. Whether that be because he's not sure how much of a range the blood bond has, or because they have people helping them out in the Department (which therein lies my fear for Ansel's safety seeing as he's the one doing most of the investigating up in Ferris.)
And I can hear you already "but Koob! Why would he kill them if he knew the Shaw Pack would just hunt him down like they're the goddamn forgotten Gods of The Wild Hunt-" aHA! But that's just the thing! Quinn knows Darlin's back in town, but he has no idea they've renewed their bond with the Pack- let alone definitely stronger than it was before. For all he knows, they're still the lone wolf they were when they met! He doesn't know Angel and Baabe even exist yet, so he doesn't see any places he can get in and torture them emotionally or mentally before he just offs them and calls it a night.
Until Darlin' didn't show up to find him where he left that bait. Now he knows that something—or someone—is keeping them from doing something reckless. And now that he knows,
He's on his way.
Anyway, thanks for listenin' to my little rant :D I've been keepin' this puppy(no pun intended) in my noggin every since that Gregory audio and the following Sam audio dropped!^-^

The Prisoner: Part One
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~2.1k
Warnings: canon angst and violence, extra angst
Summary: Now that Charlie is out of the way, you're getting your kids whether they want it or not. You're not asking this time. If they don't hand them over by sundown, Y/N won't be coming for them. The Scarlet Witch will, and they won't like what happens if she does.
Season Ten Masterlist
Author’s Note: I do not own anything from Supernatural. All credit goes to their respective owners. I love seeing any and all comments <3
x
The first thing Dean and Sam did was set up a hunter's funeral for Charlie near the Bunker. No words need to be said as they both work to set up the pyre with long wooden posts. Dean locks in the last log before looking at Sam. He has Charlie's body wrapped in a white cloth in his arms. With Dean's help, they place her in the middle of the pyre and set it on fire. As much as they love her, they'd hate it if she came back as a ghost.
"Charlie, we're going to miss you," Sam says with tears in his eyes. "I'm so sorry this happened to you. You were truly one of the best."
Dean stares at the note you wrote to them with hatred in his eyes.
"Either her soul is ready now or I'm putting her down," Dean says and crumples up the paper.
"You're going to kill your wife?"
Dean turns to Sam with fire in his eyes. He is so pissed that blue magic starts pouring out of his fists.
"That is not my wife. My wife is stuck inside my head. If killing Y/N means I can only see her in my dreams then so be it."
"Dean, the plan is to disarm her. How do you expect to kill the Scarlet Witch?"
"Brutally," he says without emotion.
Both brothers wait until the fire dies out before going back into the Bunker. Dean is so pissed that he doesn't know whether to drown his sorrows in alcohol or if he needs to kill something. Cas walks in with a sorrowful look on his face.
"Where's Rowena?"
"Locked up tight. I had to come here to make sure you're both okay."
"No, I'm not okay, Cas. Charlie is dead!!" Dean yells. "Y/N wasn't alone last night which means she's been making friends with the Stynes. I gotta take them down because I can't take down that witch!"
"Is that you or the Mark talking?" Sam asks.
"Does it matter?"
The metal front door opens and closes, and someone walks down the metal staircase.
"Lucy, I'm home," you sing. Dean sees red at hearing your voice. Not even Cas can stop him from storming into the war room. He takes out his gun and aims it at you with tears in his eyes. "What are you going to do with that?"
"You killed Charlie."
Sam and Cas walk into the room from behind him. Neither of them is stopping Dean from potentially shooting you.
"She was a lesson that needed to be taught. I told you what was going to happen if you didn't listen. If I don't carry out my threats, how will you ever take me seriously?"
"I'm going to kill you," he says, his voice shaking with rage.
"With what gun?" you laugh. Immediately, the gun in Dean's hands disappears. "Look, if it makes you feel any better, I never laid a hand on Charlie. She did it all herself. I'd know." You grin. "I watched."
"Why are you here?" Sam asks, trying not to choke up. "What do you want?"
"You know what I want. Where are my children?" Sam and Dean refuse to say anything so you have no choice but to read their minds. Both of them try really hard to block you out but it's clear they don't know. You look at Cas but he's a lot stronger than they are. You can't get past his walls. "I know you know something."
"So, what if we do? You're not going to get it."
"That's where you're wrong. I realize that I'm not going to get what I want if I resort to violence. So, I'm going to offer you a deal and be nice just this once. I'm giving you three until sundown tonight to hand over my kids, and then you'll never see me again."
"They're my kids, too," Dean glares.
"I know, but they'll be with the better parent. I already told you, you're a shitty dad. Like father, like son, right?"
Dean closes his eyes as he remembers the words the real you said to him.
"I want you to know something, Dean." You grab his cheeks and make him look at you. "No matter what she says or what she does, just remember I love you so much. You are my best friend, my husband, the love of my life, and the father of my children. There is nothing that I wouldn't do for you. I'd trade the whole world for a minute of your time. You are strong and brave and caring. I don't know what she said to you but just know my love for you is stronger than her magic. Please don't forget that."
No, he's not going to forget that.
"Great, so we're all in agreement. Turn them over by sundown tonight."
You turn to leave but Sam's words stop you.
"What if we don't?"
You turn your head so that all they're seeing is your side profile. You smirk.
"Then it won't be Y/N that comes for you. It'll be the Scarlet Witch."
As soon as you're gone, Dean yells out in anger. He sends a ball of blue magic into the wall so hard that it cracks and makes a huge dent. Dean turns to Cas with tears in his eyes.
"Please tell me her soul is ready," he begs.
Cas raises his hand and looks inside Dean's mind. Pleased at what he sees, he removes his hand with a smile.
"It is ready. It's pure now. I know if she gets it back now, she will be okay."
"Great. Look, she gave us until sundown but if she wants my kids, she'll have to do it over my dead body. You two come up with a plan. I have to avenge Charlie's death. This is the one thing I can control so please, give me this."
"Are you sure, Dean?"
"I need this, Sammy."
"Alright, we'll come up with a plan."
"Great."
Dean leaves Sam and Cas alone to deal with that while he goes back to the scene of the crime. He got the motel manager to hand over the security footage of last night and sent it over to a hunter he trusts. He can definitely kill the Stynes but no matter what, he can't kill you. He told Sam that he would but there is a chance of saving you now. He can't do it.
"Rudy. I just sent you some security camera footage of a black sedan. I need you to run the plates."
"Yeah can do, just give me a second here." A moment passes. "Weird. Uh, the vehicle's registered to Eldon Styne out of Newton, Kansas but there's no street address. Does this guy have something to hide?"
"Yeah, big time. I'll fill you in later, thanks."
"Yeah sure, but isn't that what Sam's for?"
"He's busy."
Dean gets into the car and starts the two-and-a-half-hour trip to Newton. Sam and Cas head back to the church where Rowena is to fill her in on what happened.
"Well about bloody time," she glares at them. "Where's Charlie?"
"She's dead."
"What happened?"
"Y/N happened. She killed her. She'll come after you, too if you're not careful."
"Well, what now?" Cas asks.
"I don't care what Dean says. He wants to avenge Charlie's death, that's fine. He's going to push himself over the edge. I low-jacked the Impala a few weeks ago so we should be able to track him."
Sam pulls out his phone and pulls up Dean's location. Seconds later, Sam gets a notification that he got an email from Charlie. He frowns and opens it, gasping when he sees Charlie's notes. She might have done it. She might have cracked the code before she was killed. He stalks over to Rowena and hands her the phone.
"Is this what I think it is?"
"Oh, that little minx. She's cracked the code," Rowena smirks.
"Can you read the Book of the Damned with this?"
"Every last word. We can cure the Mark of Cain."
"Okay, Cas, go find Dean and make sure he doesn't go over the edge, okay? I'll stay here and we'll figure out how to cure Dean and Y/N."
"Are you sure you want to do that? I mean, Charlie died because of this and we didn't even use any spells from it."
"Cas, I have to do this. I've been the one to be out there alone and scared, and Dean and Y/N brought me back. They saved me multiple times! If we don't remove this thing from Y/N, she will kill us. She will be too powerful to stop, and those were your words. We have the power to stop them once and for all."
"Fine," Cas sighs. "You need to come up with a plan about Y/N, though."
"I know, I'm working on it."
Cas leaves once Sam sends him Dean's location, and Rowena sits down with a smirk.
"Oooh, I do love a bit of intrigue."
"Right, less talk, more translating. Go."
"About that. I said I could read the book, I never said I would."
"We had a deal!"
"We did--we do, and it's time you held up your end. I want my son dead!"
"After--"
"Now," she cuts him off. "Once I cast the spell--and you need me to cast that spell--who knows what'll happen."
Sam slams his hand down angrily on the table.
"I don't have time for this!"
"You're right, you don't! Your brother and his wife are a walking fucking time bomb, and the clock is ticking. So, you will kill my son, and you will do it my way, now!"
Sam leaves in a puff of anger. While on the road, Dean is stopped by police officers. He pulls over on the side of the road and fishes for his registration. He pulls out a fake ID and shrugs thinking it's good enough to get him out of this one. One officer approaches Dean's window while the other officer stays at the back.
"What's the problem, officer?"
"License and reg."
"Yep."
He hands it over and, and the officer chuckles when he sees Dean's name on the ID.
"Ashley J. Williams, huh?"
"You can call me Ash."
"Out of the car, Ashley."
Dean complies and steps out to confront the two officers.
"Well, I wasn't speeding, I'm sober--mostly sober--so what's this about?"
"Blinker's out." The second officer takes his nightstick and smashes one of the taillights on the Impala. "That's a violation." The officer walks to the other taillight and Dean glares at him. He smashes it just like he did with the first one. "Two lights out."
"Son of a bitch!"
Dean lunges for the officer but the first one grabs him and shoves him face-first into the side of the car.
"Now we've got an attempted assault of a police officer. Looks like we're taking you down to the station, boy."
The officer handcuffs him and Dean willingly goes with them. He would easily beat their asses but things just got interesting because he knows this town is infested with Stynes.
"Oh, I ain't your boy, Cletus."
"Right now you are, so you best settle or you're gonna get an ass-whupping instead of a phone call."
Both officers take Dean and his car back to the station. The one who smashed Dean's taillights keeps him chained to his desk while the other one goes into his office to make a phone call. Deputy Boulton goes through all of Dean's fake IDs, reading off each of the names he's given himself.
"Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, and Freddy Mercury. Damn. I mean, they said you were a pro, but--"
"Who said that?"
"I'll ask the questions here. For example, you've got seventeen fake IDs and a trunk full of guns, knives, fucking ninja stars. I mean, who are you, man?"
"I'm the guy that's gonna get out of here in about thirty seconds."
"Yeah, right," Boulton scoffs.
There is a cup full of pens that Dean slowly knocks onto the ground like a cat would with a water bottle.
"Real mature," Boulton rolls his eyes.
Boulton gets up and rounds the table to pick up the mess when Dean grabs his arm and punches him in the face. He throws Boulton onto the ground, holding him tightly by his strong bow legs.
"Keys! Now!"
Boulton immediately gives them up and Dean kicks his face, knocking him out cold. He uses the keys to free himself before searching for the other office. He finds him in his office on the phone, staring out the window with his back to Dean.
"Yeah, he was driving a '67 Impala, just like you said. ... Sure, can do."
"Who are you talking to?"
Sheriff Landels turns around and pales when he sees the gun in Dean's hand.
"Nobody."
"Really?" Dean marches over to the sheriff and hits him in the face with his gun. "That's for lying to me." He hits him again. "That's for my baby." Dean, with all his strength, grabs the sheriff and heaves him onto his desk. He shoves his gun into his face, not caring if the sheriff looks like he is going to piss himself. "Who were you talking to?"
"Monroe Styne. He said if I saw you I was supposed to bring you in, and then call him."
"Any relation to Eldon?"
"That's his Daddy."
"Where can I find him?"
"You can't take on the Stynes. They own this town. They're practically Gods around here."
"I kill Gods."

Hiii!!! Can I request a fluffy one shot/scenario of people noticing Octotrio and Reader in a polyamorous relationship sharing each others clothes?
If you're not comfortable writing poly just write them separately pls and thank you ❤️
Hi anon dear!! Thank you for requesting <33
Unfortunately...I suck at doing a poly of 4 + Leech twins are siblings sooo i did them separately i hope that's ok. Hope you enjoy!!
Content Warnings: None, hinted that Floyd is taller than s/o.
People notice that their s/o is sharing clothes with them.
Azul x GN!Reader, Jade x GN!Reader, Floyd x GN!Reader
This silly octopus.
He's very smart and calculating, yet he didn't calculate the probability of how many people would notice that what you're wearing is his clothes.
Now I'm sure we all know that there's no way in a million years Azul is going to wear his partners clothes in front of his schoolmates. He's way too shy for that.
It doesn't mean he doesn't love you though! Man's gonna be hugging himself in your clothes at night in his bed.
And when you ask him for clothes....he will give it to you. Its mostly formals though if you're fine with that.
It was a weekend and you were chilling in the campus with a new drink from Sam's store. You decided to wear Azul's clothes that one faithful day and some of his students seemed to notice.
"Yo...isn't that dorm head's button up?"
"I was thinking the same thing!! Do you think maybe they're a couple?"
"I thought it was different at first until I saw the A on it...."
These guys were not the best at whispering XD
They kept giving you a weird look. Why are you, a random human, wearing the clothes of one of the most smartest and most powerful guys in the school???
They didn't cause you any trouble though so you didn't pay much attention to it.
A few hours pass and Jade calls you to Azul's office.
As soon as you enter....you see Azul pacing back and forth.
"Azul...?" He turns to you and sighs.
"My dearest I humbly apologize for the trouble my dorm students gave you. However, I cannot allow you to wear my clothes in public as it may ruin my reputation..." He said in one breath, his hands on your shoulders.
You were very understanding and he really appreciated that. As soon as you nodded, he smothered your face with kisses, which is something he doesn't usually do.
Overall, Azul is TERRIFIED of loosing you and making you blackmail material. He just deeply cares about you and doesn't want you to be taken away. Only...and ONLY for that reason does he not want you to wear his clothes outside.
But...if you wear his clothes when you're with him...he'll be overjoyed...and might overheat. How adorable.
Bold of you to even assume people will notice. This man is probably even more calculating than that octopus guy.
Ok so....firstly, Jade would want to share clothes(whether yours fit him or not and vice versa). He'll tease you about it with that grin if you ask him but will give his clothes to you because you're a "Poor Thing,"
He's smiling happily inside and probably cheering in his head.
Now I'm sure that nobody but people he's close with have seen him in non-uniform. So it's rare for people to notice if you ever wear his clothes.
In some rare circumstance that someone does notice, it's Floyd's fault.
"Ah those are Jade's clothes." Because of that one Floyd remark, people now know you're wearing Jade's clothes.
The atmosphere will be filled with gossip, but no matter where you are, Jade will find you. I mean, you're wearing his clothes and he can't get enough of the sight of you ☆゚°˖* ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
"Oho. Is that so Floyd? Then how do you feel about me telling Professor Crewel that you-"
Now they both are glaring at each other. Shit's bout to go down.
"Urghhh...false alarm...I thought those clothes looked like Jade's. Turns out they're not..." Floyd yells out.
"Oh my silly brother."
Once you two are in a place with less eyes, you apologize to Jade, since you may have embarrassed him a bit, to which he just smiles at you. A genuine one, but you can't tell.
"Please don't worry about it. It's just Floyd being Floyd."
"Do you maybe not want me to wear your shirt or-"
"Fufu, how cowardly you are~"
It means no in Jade Leech language.
Overall he isn't too fond of people noticing his clothes on you. But he believes he's on a safer side since nobody's seen his clothes much. Maybe he wouldn't wear yours in public since he's fine in uniform. He loves seeing you in his clothes though and encourages you to wear them more often.
Unlike the other two, this man WILL wear your clothes outside. Whether they fit him or not, whether he looks like an overgrown child or not, he doesn't care.
You better wear his too or he'll get salty.
Sometimes, he won't be in the mood to wear tight clothes like yours and might loose some because he doesn't like it.
Another funny thing about sharing Floyd's clothes is that he'll tell you to adjust any of his clothing to your size if you want(because he thinks his clothes are absolutely breathtaking on you and it is ;D). But he forgets that they're his clothes and gets pouty because it doesn't fit him now.
Oh well...it has an eel on it sooo....
People notice. Maybe the whole school does. Does he care? No. Nobody has the courage to ask him if the clothes you're wearing are his either.
It's just you two in your own world :)
But....when someone does notice...it can go two ways
If that person has a positive response about it. He'll laugh and say something like "I know right hehe."
If a negative response gets into his ear....death.
He's giving that glare with a vein popping up.
"Did. I. Ask?"
But that barely happens so everyone's safe usually.
If people come up to you and ask you though, you're free to say that it is. Even if people judge you, this 191cm tall beanpole never will <3
Overall, he'll never admit it but he likes it when people notice. Now more people will know you're taken by him :D
Hope you liked that one!! I'm sorry it was late though :)
I also got a bit too carried away writing Azul's part XD
Have a great day 💖
-Madeline 🐧

Hiiii I had some questions about healing a healer, if that's okay (it's like my one of my favorite redacted fics ngl)
12: Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in?
20: What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?
24: Did you write every scene in order? What was the first scene you wrote, and what was the last?
(also I don't actually have the 'my favorite line is blank what inspired it' question but I still want it to be noted that “But I was a healer,” he repeated petulantly, again sounding as if he were on the verge of tears. “I’m supposed to be the one to put people’s blood back,” he lamented thickly. “Not take it.” makes me CRYY)
-asher / vampire-bite
Hi, @vampire-bite! How have you been? It's delightful to hear from you! Thank you for these asks about blast-from-the-past fic Healing a Healer, a prequel that sees William confront Sam shortly after his turning as he struggles to acclimate to vampiric life.
Ask game here (Still open!)
12: Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in?
The whole fic is one scene, so I think the trick was trying to fit in everything! After writing this fic, I created a related headcanon that William founded the Red Moon Association, a blood-donation charity that serves vampires in communities without easy access to blood. True to his healer form, Sam gets involved quite heavily with the charity. If I had developed that headcanon earlier, I probably would've referenced the RMA somewhere in this fic.
20: What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?
I really wanted to make sure that the fic captured Sam's prolonged despair as well as William's kingly, regal power. William is such a cool character because he is so kind, but you just know there's a ferocity within him that could make any vampire cower. (Also, that the fic exists! I can't tell you how happy I am to see you give this older fic some love. <3)
24: Did you write every scene in order? What was the first scene you wrote, and what was the last?
I did write the fic in order! I typically write linearly, whether it's a one-scene oneshot like this one or a lengthy multi-chapter fic. Makes more sense in my head that way, I think. Once I've got the full fic drafted, I do go back and revise to make sure everything ties together.
You have a favorite line?! I am so grateful. Thank you thank you thank you!

Ouuugh... I have the feeling i'm going to be sobbing by the end of this new video !!!! Uhoh !!!!
Sam built a staircase to his roof so he could watch the stars :((( Doing things the "human" way :(((
"I'm glad I'm alive right now. I'm glad I lived long enough to meet you." oooough hhghsh...... oh no dude... ouch :((
Talking about how he's glad that he was able to find peace with himself and his life after so long, but also wishing that he had the opportunity to find it on his own Without being turned :((( To try and save himself before Alexis jumped the gun-- whether he could have done it or not.
And because of that, losing the One thing in the world that made the hardships in his life worth it-- because he could use it to save others with it.... but he never got the chance to save himself with it :(( replaced with something "watered-down." Having the knowledge of how to use the powers, but cursed with a core that suppresses them :((
"I want a life spent with you, I don't want to squander a second of it. I want years and years with you. If you want to be a vampire, there can be more of those years than if you don't. But you should know that whatever your choice is-- I'm Not going to live forever. I made that decision a while ago, and I still believe in it. I don't see that ever changing." AND WHAT IF I JUST SOB. WEEP EVEN.
Him and William having a talk about what being undead really means-- Losing your loved ones, the sun, the future you planned, the way you lived in your own body. You're given a new start-- but forever holding on to the past. :((
"If you want this, then I want you to have it. We'll make it happen, and I will be by your side. But this isn't a decision to make in a snap judgement-- because you can't take it back. Give yourself time to think about it. To really think about it." Making sure that they really, truly want it before it happens, because He didn't have the agency in choosing that for himself :((( And either way he'll be supportive of their decision... and he didn't get that either :(((
"Spend some time in your Wolf form while you think about it, because if you turn you will never Shift again... spend some time with the Pack-- because, you know." OW. OUCH. Oh my god I bet the whole "losing your magic" part is ESPECIALLY important for Shifters, because they are their magic. Personally and Culturally. Losing it wouldn't mean losing a part of themselves-- it's losing an entire whole.
"I love you Darlin', more than anything in this God-forsaken world. I want you to be happy. I want to be with you. I want a life together. But that life can take a lot of different forms. Don't fall into the trap of thinking there's only one right way of doing this. We'll do whatever is the best version for us. And I'll support you in whatever decision you make." Yes !!! He will love them regardless of their choice, their love is theirs to do whatever they want with-- whatever form it takes :')
"Brown... my eyes were Brown." OH. HEY OUCH. FOUL BALL !!! THAT HURTS TOO MUCH !!!!
Why can't these two be happy for ONCE dude please i'll give anything.
And it hurts more because they absolutely Do have to think about it !!! Sam watched Lovely die on that field in the Inversion-- watched Vincent sobbing over their body asking if Turning is what they wanted. With such a spur-of-the-moment decision in such a frantic time, who knows if they really meant it.
(I'm sure they Did mean it, but it Hurts to think about if Lovely ever regrets the choice or not.)
How could he possibly let Darlin' experience something like that after Everything they've been through ? At least it's good to discuss just in case something were to happen. Which hopefully never happens !!! ... aha !!!!
On my hands and knees begging that the Solaires can be Happy for ONCE dude they all deserve a break.
.... I wonder what color Vincent's eyes were :(
#redacted audio#redacted asmr#redacted spoilers#moon's thoughts#redacted sam#Dude i have dnd in an hour I'm going to show up crying and sobbing and Can't tell them why LMAO#this video HURTS dude OW !!!!

So I'm thinking about 2.10 and how Dean says he hates hunting, he's tired of the job, he wants to quit hunting, he wants to take a break from hunting, he wants them to go to the Grand Canyon, he wants to lay low for a while. Sam's reaction to this when it first comes up is to think it's about HIM turning evil.
DEAN: I've been thinking about this, I think we should just lay low. You know? At least for a while. It'd be safer. And that way I can make sure — SAM: What? That I don't turn evil? That I don't turn into some kind of killer? DEAN: I never said that. SAM: Jeez, if you're not careful you will have to waste me one day, Dean. DEAN: I never said that! Damnit, Sam, this whole thing is spinning out of control. All right?
Of course the most obvious reading is "Well Dean is lying". But I'm thinking about this and... I actually think Dean is telling the truth—at least mostly?
There's another moment later in the episode where once again Sam immediately assumes something Dean said is really about him:
SAM: Well, come on, dude, you're a hunter. I mean, it's what you were meant to do. DEAN: Ah, I wasn't meant to do anything, I don't believe in that destiny crap. SAM: You mean you don't believe in my destiny. DEAN: Yeah, whatever.
And I think both of these moments are very:
Because Dean is thinking primarily about his own destiny and his own monstrosity, and his potential monstrosity is connected to Sam's potential monstrosity.
Dean is primarily scared of himself. He wants to run from the job because he's scared of what HE might do one day and what HIS destiny might be: the destiny of committing fratricide... which is a through line the entire run of the series.
The biggest context clue is that this entire conversation happens right after Croatoan—which is about whether or not Dean—not Sam—will kill someone who may or may not hurt someone else in the future and thus become a monster himself. And when it comes to running from hunting as a way of running from that destiny, 2.03 gives us a good clue why Dean might see it that way:
DEAN: You know, I gotta keep my game face on. But, uh, the truth is I'm not handling it very well. Feel like I have this - GORDON: Hole inside you? And it just gets bigger and bigger and darker and darker? Good. You can use it. Keeps you hungry. Trust me. There's plenty out there needs killing, and this'll help you do it. Dean, it's not a crime to need your job.
Initially, this comforts Dean, who feels a bit troubled by his own thoughts and the turn they've taken, but then Dean learns that Gordon himself committed fratricide. The violence of hunting is potentially what pushed Gordon down that path where he became someone who claims he didn't even hesitate to kill his sister. So then Dean IS scared of needing the job in order to fill that hole, and he IS scared of enjoying what he does. He doesn't see the mission he described to Sam in 1.02 right now. He doesn't see the victims he gets to help whose happiness has brought him comfort all this time. He sees himself slowly transforming into someone he doesn't want to be as he walks down this blood-soaked road, who might one day become so desensitized to it all that he'd kill his own brother... and Dean wants to RUN.

What they could've done with Lunar's story
Alright, so, this is what I'm gonna call the "Zak and Human" Method, because the storyline for my OC Zak mostly fits here.
Zak works for a galactical government called "The Base of Dimensions" or BOD. Humans aren't supposed to have magic, and when they do it's an anomaly, so Zak's job is to investigate the anomaly and make sure that the magical human is not a threat. This is because the most dangerous galactical and universal threats began from small, unchecked anomalies like magic humans.
Why couldn't they do the same thing for Lunar???
Okay, so Lunar suddenly has powers, wouldn't be weird right? On Earth, even animatronics can cast spells and have magic, such as Moon or Eclipse. But what makes Lunar an anomaly is the fact that his powers don't abide by the same magic system of his original planet. His powers are a different thing entirely, and that is an anomaly, an anomaly that could turn into a threat if left unchecked.
And so Gemini, the "Zak" of this scenario, is sent to handle Lunar by a higher power or a higher government. If Lunar can prove he can handle his powers, then he won't be seen as a threat and all will be well. If Lunar can't, then he will be killed off. It seems harsh, but this is all to prevent a small problem from becoming a big issue. All of this is explained to Lunar by Gemini, because honestly it's stupid to hide it and why would they have any reason to.
All seems to go well, Gemini trains Lunar and Lunar seems to be getting a handle on everything, including a potential relationship with Gemini! But then Lunar does something he shouldn't have, he kills Eclipse.
By killing Eclipse, Lunar has proved to the higher powers that Lunar has the potential to become a threat. At least, a threat to his planet, at most, a threat to his galaxy, and that's what causes Gemini to be so mad at Lunar. Gemini really does care for Lunar, and seeing them mess up like this and put themselves in jeopardy upset them a lot because now Lunar would be on the extermination list. And now Gemini has to plead for Lunar's case, for the higher powers to give Lunar a second chance. And with that, Gemini is gone.
I feel like this would've justified Gemini's anger, along with the reason why Gemini came in the first place. The reason as to why Gemini even bothered to train Lunar is so vague that I don't think the writers even knew. So many say that Lunar didn't deserve to be yelled at and Eclipse deserved to die again, and when you see what played out I can understand that! When you actually look at it, Lunar's weather powers are probably pretty petty compared to the other things that exist in this Universe, so why??? Why would the astral bodies give a shit???
In this little version, Gemini tells Lunar why they're here, what they want to do, and why they're gonna help Lunar. This tells both Lunar and the audience what the stakes are and why Lunar has to do this training thing. And when Eclipse ends up dying and Gemini gets pissed, at least fans who watch can understand why Gemini is mad. Whether or not Eclipse deserved dying, Lunar just put himself on the extermination list and now Gemini has to find a way to get Lunar out of it.
It's such a simple storyline and maybe this is what the writers were going for! But if it is, they didn't convey it well.
I know that LAES and SAMS aren't supposed to be a marvel of writing, but if you're gonna have characters and story lines you could at LEAST make them make sense.
People are probably gonna be mad at me for this or point out things in episodes that point to this little story change not making sense, and okay, I get it, it's not like I watched ALL of the LAES or SAMS episodes so I understand if I missed some things. But seriously I feel like this is a simple fix, especially when you have a world as loose as the Security Breach Show universe. For fucks sake, Monty and Puppet are thinking of switching Cringe Foxy and Normal Foxy???

My thoughts just after finishing Supernatural
One year ago on this exact same day I finished SPN. I watched 15x18, 15x19 and 15x20 in a row. I just ate dinner between 15x18 and 15x19 (weird dinner). After watching episode 15x20, I wasn't that pissed off about the end. It changed now, because I got the time to think about it.
See, I knew Cas wouldn’t appear in the last two episodes, but somehow I still hoped that the deal with the Empty wasn’t the reason, because he deserved to be happy. As I progressed through season 15 I felt it coming, even though I was hoping until the last second. And when I got to episode 15x18, I understood that it was this deal that was going to kill him but I didn't know how. That confession scene destroyed me but anyway I went to eat my dinner while being destroyed and then I came back to SPN to watch the last two episodes, knowing I wouldn’t see Cas anymore.
Then came episode 15x19, I've read often that people prefer to ignore 15x20 and I can totally understand (Dean deserved to live free and happy), but 15x19 is NOT a satisfying ending for me, because Cas is still in the Empty (well maybe not, but we don’t know that yet) and I just can’t, he can’t stay there, dead, I can’t accept that.
This is what allows me to appreciate 15x20 a little bit. But it’s not the only reason, because in this last episode I spotted several empty bottles of alcohol in Dean’s room and you all know why. He misses Cas, for sure, at least it’s my headcanon because I need it. Plus, he doesn’t stay long alive after Cas’s death, there is no real timeline. He couldn’t ask Jack to bring him back because Jack told them he wouldn’t intervene anymore and left. So maybe their hopes to get Cas out without Jack were at zero. But I’m sure Dean searched in the bunker’s library when he had the time to before he died. He searched for a way to get Cas out. And then he died (unfortunately, it still hurts).
Which brings us to episode 15x20. The end of SPN is “good” in a sense that Dean wanted Sam to have a life, a normal apple pie life, so it’s a happy ending for that, because he achieved his goal but HE DESERVED to have that too, for himself, that or anything he wanted, not only for his little brother but FOR HIM AS WELL.
AND ABOUT CAS? Well about Cas, especially the crumbles we got with “Cas helped” I totally understand why people feel pissed about it, I kind of feel like that too now. But when I first saw this scene, I was happy to hear about Cas because I already knew he wasn’t in the last two episodes so I wasn’t going to be as disappointed as people that waited to see the episode when it aired.
We learn that Cas remade Heaven (with Jack’s help) to do a Heaven Dean deserves, and I - for me it was like Cas fucking succeeded to give Dean what he deserved. He not only saved his life multiple times, but also told him he loved him, made him believe that he did and gave him freedom (for a short amount of time, I’m really pissed about that for sure and I’m sure Cas is too, like he wasn’t expecting him so soon) but he also changed Heaven for him, to make one he deserved.
HE CHANGED THEE ENTIRE HEAVEN FOR THE MAN HE LOVES. I’m going to cry writing this, because that’s like the greatest love story ever told. And yes I would have done things differently, but I can’t and with what they gave us I do what I want. And we have an angel of the Lord, that rebelled against Heaven and that was dead, being back and building a new Heaven for Dean to enjoy eternity with the people he loved. He knew Dean was made of love and he needed a space to express it, and Cas gave it to him (with Jack of course) but damn *typing with tears in the eyes* that still hits me soooo damn hard. Because when someone love you enough to tell you they do without excepting something in return, sacrifice themselves while doing it without having an answer about whether their feelings are requited, and remake Heaven for you to have the afterlife/eternity you deserve, nothing can beat that. THIS here, this is what grabs my heart and clenches it every damn time. The greatest love story ever told. No one, NO ONE can change my mind.
