I. Disinterest 

First of all, who asked for this? To me the appeal of F1 is how exclusive and confined it is. There are only 10 teams and 20 drivers you have to learn about which makes it very easy to become super invested. If you want to step outside that, you can learn more about the lower formulas or past seasons(there’s many of them!!!!) So why would I, someone extremely invested in the people and narrative already taking place, even remotely care about some made up drivers? Especially since they’re not JUST made up drivers, they’re made up drivers in the background of REAL drivers. I am highly invested in the results of current F1, so why would I want to watch a movie where those results and drivers are in the background. I’d rather just watch DTS, which is a crazy statement within itself.

I’ve actually thought a lot about how one could mesh real and fake within a sport like F1. Cause I daydream about my OCs in F1 haha, but then start thinking too hard about the logistics of it all. I came to the conclusion that putting fake F1 drivers into the real story is just not a great idea. Because you’re disrupting the actual results and inserting yourself into them, and also as I said, putting real life people in the background out of self interest. It just complicates things so much to add outside elements to such an insulated sport. If this movie had made up a completely fake grid, I’d honestly be all for it and probably would be pretty interested. Like, wow, give me a whole franchise of this!!! Give me a movie about every fake team!!! Get me invested!! But at the end of the day, I’m always going to care about the real life drivers more

In other racing movies, that are biopics, there is a focus of maybe one or two drivers. And those other drivers that were in the grid at the same time become background characters. BUT it’s in service of a real life story with real life people many may already be emotionally invested in. They’re not just turning the rest of the drivers into background characters in order to prop up their own fake F1 drivers, but rather just putting the focus on a story that deserves to be told. There’s so many stories that deserve to be told in F1, literal decades of stories. Why are they putting so much money and effort in service of a story that no one knows or cares about. 

Also I can already tell this movie is gonna be like…60% action, 40% plot. Again, if I wanted any of those things, I’d watch actual F1. It feels like a male power fantasy for men who wish they could try driving F1 cars.

II. Invasive 

I really dislike how involved it is with F1. You know, F1, something that is people’s legitimate job? It’s already a very flashy sport with so much publicity around it, why do you have to unnecessarily  add to that? Their cars being on the actual grid, the fake drivers being in the media pen. I just find the whole idea of them inserting themselves into modern F1 to be so weird. 

All those clips of Brad Pitt alongside the actual drivers genuinely make my skin crawl, it’s soooooooo fucking weird. Like that one clip of him standing alongside them for the anthem. Imagine you work your whole life and put so much blood, sweat, and tears into getting into F1, and then this rich asshole is allowed to roleplay next to you. There’s already enough pressure with the netflix cameras around all the time. And now they’re forced to be in a movie as well. Maybe I’m self centered but I’d be so annoyed if they were making a film about my sport and then I find out I’m only there to be a background character in a story about made up drivers. It just makes me cringe so much to imagine him pretending to be an F1 driver next to the actual drivers, like is that not embarrassing???

The social medias….very strange. Like the stuff with them using Paul Aron as their rookie. Even if they did get his permission, which I’m still not sure about, it’s so weird to me. Like oh the main characters are made up but you’re still willing to use other drivers in the pursuit of your own story. I’m sorry but is that not weird to anyone else???? I dislike how much this movie blurs the line between fiction and reality, involving real life drivers whenever it’s convenient. Looking at their socmed makes me cringe so much. I’m sure a bunch of self insert writers or novel writers would do the same but they’d get bullied. Yet a bunch of grown ass men are allowed to literally roleplay on twt/insta and it’s suddenly fine and normal? Lmao their most recent post is the FP1 results from Hungary. Is it not so fucking weird for them to make up placements, and thus just ignore the actual drivers who got those positions? Imagine you’re Lando and you got P6 and you go on instagram and suddenly discover that you did not in fact get P6, but rather Sonny Hayes did! Wow that 60 yr old sure is a good driver. 

And let us not forget to mention them making memorial posts for Senna and Jules Bianchi. That actually made me feel sickened, especially the Jules one. Imagine using a real life tragedy for publicity on your roleplay twitter. Is that fucking creepy???? Like why of all things would you choose THAT to play along with. They’re a made up team that is in no way associated with either drivers, so why are they talking about them? What is the point. 

Okay but that clip of Fernando staring at Brad Pitt, I’m fucking dying. I wish he could give his actual thoughts on it. Like what is it like to see a guy older than you, pretending to be an F1 driver, while you are there, doing your actual job. I like to think he had a dementia moment and was like, “hey wait when did that guy join the grid? I thought I was the oldest!?”

III. Dramatising

There already is a pretty big issue in this community where the drivers are treated like characters, and not real people. There’s so many people out there who just watch DTS and treat F1 like a soap opera. People who only know about F1 in the context of made up drama, and now there's gonna be a movie about made up drama. This movie further blurs the lines between fiction and reality. Again, they’re literally turning the F1 drivers into background characters of a movie. Like, wow you’re not real people anymore, your lives exist in the back of this story now. Imagine how confusing this would be as a new fan.

I know they’re all a bunch of rich privileged guys but, at the end of the day, this is still their job, not just fodder for drama. I want the sanctity of F1 to be respected okay. It's such a cool sport to me and I love all the real stuff about it, and I don't like the way media treats it and changes it.

IV. Old Man Self Insert

I basically covered this in my other categories but I just want to complain more. I really really despise that this movie just feels like some old guy really wanted to drive F1 cars and had to come up with a reason to justify it. I feel like someone who is a serious F1 fan would want to honor the actual history and context  of the sport more, y’know? Not just make a blatant self insert film, inserting himself in the literal daily life of the actual drivers. It annoys me bcs this is a sport where people start getting called old when they hit 30, not that I agree with that but I’m just saying, it’s a very ageist sport where youth seems to be valued over most other things. My resident GOAT old man, who is 18 years younger than Pitt, constantly has people saying how he should retire to give younger drivers more of a chance. So why the hell in a sport with this environment are we getting a movie about a 60 YEAR OLD driver. It’s just so clearly a self motivated passion project, and Domenicalli and others want to milk F1 for all the money it's worth. Okay so a made up team is allowed to be 11th and yet you keep shunning actual teams that could join and bring in more publicity/money? Okay, okay…

V. Misc

I’m ngl it feels like a made up team would have an easier job getting into F1 if they really wanted to, because of the publicity. And yet Andretti cannot. Imagine a docu film about a brand new team joining F1 for the first time ever and the trials and tribulations it takes to be a new team in such a historical, bloodthirsty sport. But nah let’s put all that money and effort into a make believe story. 

But yeah they’re not really doing anything inventive anyways. Wow an old man driver who they’re probably gonna pretend is not completely age inaccurate for this sport. And the supposed dynamic of it. Isn’t it supposed to be Brad Pitt’s chara coming back to mentor a rookie prodigy?? When are teammate relationships ever that nice?????? The only similar relationship I can think of is Seb and Micheal but they were on diff teams, and RBR was a lot better than Merc atp. I feel like the only time you see mentor-like relationships is either when the two are on diff teams, the car is an absolute backmarker, or the mentor absolutely outclasses the rookie. 

The fucking “who cares about safety” line, who authorized that????? Thinking about how I almost got ripped to shreds on here for talking about how refueling was interesting, and yet a blockbuster is allowed to disregard safety??? And weren’t they saying in that trailer that they have to make the car for battle? Is their strat being terrorists??

VI. Javier Bardem

GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH WHY DOES ONE OF MY FAVORITE ACTORS HAVE TO BE IN THIS SHIT FUCKING MOVIE GOD DAMN YOU JAVIER YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!! 

It is very painful to me that he’s gonna be in this movie, and that his doppelganger who you may know as Fernando Alonso will also guest star. Like I don’t want to give this film money nor do I want to watch it. But the fact that there’s the possibility of seeing Fernando Alonso beloved on the big screen…it’s so tempting.

It’s just irritating cause his chara in the trailer DOES seem like smth I’d actually be interested in. Like I think he’s gonna be a dubious team owner or TP and man….that’s so perfect. But not in the context of the full movie lmao. So who will be the brave soul and make the Javier Bardem and Fernando Alonso cut for me? Maybe I will ask my brother to write down the timestamps for me. 

I digress. There’s probably some things I forgot to complain about but this is what I came up with <3 I hate you Brad Pitt and I hate you Domenicalli and I hate you MBS, etc etc. Lmao you know what this feels like? When you're in a fandom for a fandom for a franchise like the MCU or SW, and nrw shows/movies come out and you feel like they're bastardizing the whole franchise. This is what this movie is to me.

As a response to last ask you got I feel SAO would fundamentally change in plot if Kirito had been a girl... but whether this would have "saved" SAO or brought it more genuine interest irks me though because it's insinuating Kirito as he currently is right now is otherwise the clas8x "bad light novel character" I suppose? (A-1's anime adaptation ruined SAO's image to many more than anything, especially due mudding out Kirito's dorky yet withdrawn personality via skimming out his inner dialogue and putting more emphasis his brooding persona and badassery)

Sorry if it came venting as I enjoy Kirito a lot in both ways, but find an issue on implications of female gender -> more interesting character/main lead among feminine-looking guys on SAO's tag lately (idk,I guess people in general think Kirito currently is so bad that any fan depiction of him is always going to gain more following over them looking any deeper on what was lost in the transition to anime and finding out his real enjoyable character in the light novels, like how he has clear fetish for describing male guys in pretty romantic ways at times or just having really dorky quips to say)

I haven’t been able to read the Light novels yet (😭) so I’m currently an anime only fan. I genuinely love SAO so much but I don’t think it has the best of writing? Guilty pleasure type of show except I’ve been working on the not feeling guilty part lol.

My blog is centered around the headcanon that Kirito is a trans girl. I personally think this due to her behavior throughout the series, the particularly the Phantom Bullet arc (for obvious reasons). As such, a lot of the people who follow me also have the same headcanon, and many also believe that SAO as a whole would be better if Kirito was canonically female.

Personally, I don’t think the story of SAO would really change, because for me Kirito canonically ring a girl would mean her still being trans. I think the general idea comes from the fact that one of the themes in the show is your online self often being more “real” or true to your beliefs and person than your real life self. Kirito being trans adds into this theme in a very fascinating and nuanced way.

There’s also the fact that after SAO gained popularity, many isekais were made after with the same general format, including the base for their protagonist. It’s kinda a jokey way of saying “If Kirito was a girl, we probably wouldn’t have gotten so many crappy Kirito clones throughout the years”. It’s not really anything meant to be taken seriously, at least I don’t think so lol

As I said previously, many of my followers share this belief simply because of what my blog is about. Even though I’ve explained what I think they mean, you still might be upset by it, and that’s perfectly okay! However, if that’s the case, I recommend either not interacting with or even blocking my blog. Your enjoyment of this franchise shouldn’t be hindered by other people, and that means taking the steps to make sure you curate your experience, so everyone can have fun!

I was reading your tags on that fanart of Thor as a wireless charger, and noticed how you said that much of Marvel lost its charm over time but Thor retained his for a while longer. And honestly I think you phrased my feelings on this very well. I actually lost interest in the MCU ages ago when other fandoms crowded my brain, but even when I would see trailers very few of them appealed to me and I think it's that lack of charm you mentioned. I only regained some interest recently after my sister convinced me to watch a few movies & shows, but so much of the MCU still doesn't appeal to me. But I've always liked Thor's jovial personality and the fantastical elements of much of the Thor franchise.

hi, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I wish I had more coherent thoughts to add on what makes the Thor movies/his character feel different, but I’m not really sure how to put any of them into words…..I expect a lot of it has to do with the more fantastical setting of Asgard and the Nine Realms, as you mention! Besides the scope for imagination, this might have allowed the movies to be less bogged down in messaging (I think one of the many problems with later Marvel is its obvious, belabored didacticism on various issues). Also, Thor as a character had some sincerity left in him alongside his innocence and earnestness. The post going around about “quips” and “bathos” as a problem in Marvel is spot on, imo, but Thor’s role as the naive or obtuse character allows him to escape this, to a certain degree! Plus, Hemsworth plays him very openheartedly, I would say, along with your point about his joviality!! Of course, his character gets shifted around a lot with the different directors and writers who want to tell different stories with his character. Thor: Ragnarok is a large tonal shift for sure, but I think it keeps lots of the aforementioned joviality AND sincerity while adding more lightness to the narrative. Hemsworth does a great job of tying the disparate Thor narratives together, particularly in Infinity War, where I was quite struck by his protrayal of Thor’s grief, guilt, and rage alongside his comedic side. And then I have nothing good to say about Avengers Endgame, lol. I admit that I haven’t seen the fourth Thor movie because it looks like stuff and nonsense from the trailers. Basically, I’m glad for the joy I can get watching Thor in the earlier movies, and I’m steadfastly not watching new things that I know will make me angry 😅

i was watching a video on plagarism in cosplay and the girl making the video managed to put into words something that i've kind of struggled with and tbh am still struggling to adapt to my "field" but. it bugs me so i want to try. also i should say this wicked isn't a problem it has happened to me all of Twice (one from each end) but someone finally summarized why it felt the way it did.

basically, a couple times people have commented on a fic of mine likening it to another that exists. sometimes these are innocuous and even lead me to people with similar headcanons and interpretations of the character as me. sometimes i don't like the other fic so it feels less flattering, but it's by no fault of how the comment itself is written. i've actually written a comment similar to this once and hope it didn't come across as naggy, but i found out someone else used the same prompt as me for catradora, so i basically left a comment about how funny it was that two people saw that inspiration source and went "ah yes, this could be catradora." it was supposed to be a "like sees like" kind of salute (as well as an acknowledgement that i hadn't seen their fic before as i don't go in the tags often), but i've since gotten comments that i think are trying to at least toe the line of doing the same thing and felt off (bitter, self-promotey, whatever) to me, so i retroactively worry about how they felt about it.

but really this post is about the time i had someone say "is this fic actually inspired by [other fic]" and it was 1) something i'd never heard of and 2) insulting.

so why is it insulting, what did the video finally put into words for me?

when someone accuses you of copying, using/having the same idea as someone else, etc, it is insulting the creative process and labor it took to make it. It's saying that you didn't/couldn't come up with that yourself, that you didn't develop and nurture it and plan out all the impacts this event/plot/au etc would have on the characters; that any time and effort and love you put into it never actually existed because you just stole it from someone else. it's essentially accusing you of being chatgpt, putting someone else's hard work in as input and cranking something cheap and less valuable out instead. they don't care about the work you put in anymore.

like, when i did the bachelorette au, it was straight up inspired by one that existed and i openly sourced that because it deserved it, but even then i still spent hours reading recaps of the show, previously had an interest in the franchise from podcasts, went and read interviews to get an idea of the general timelines, etc. I put a lot of work - my work, unique work, creative work - into crafting an au that, in reality, only shares the phrase "bachelorette au" with the initial source of inspiration (again, a source i love and am happy to credit anyway). if someone else wants to write a cosplay au for catradora, even if they think to do it because they read mine, as long as they're not copying the plot, backstory, etc, i think that would be super cool! honestly, i'd be flattered to be an inspiration source for that, just like i'm flattered when someone takes on one of my headcanons. it's just the basics of how creativity works. no idea, no matter how much it may feel like it, comes from nowhere. you start watching a vintage car tiktok and it puts you on a train of thoughts that eventually leads you to "lol but adora bent over the hood of her broken down car" and then you build that out until it is its own world with plot, backstory, and characters who have been tweaked by living in this different environment.

anyway, i know i've been incredibly unconcise but it boils down to creativity being a lot of effort and it doesn't feel good when people claim you didn't put in all that effort ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ man this post could have been so much shorter. should i edit it. aw fuck i have to be at work at nine tomorrow. yeah no lmao

@i-put-the-s4p-in-s4pphic OKAY OKAY OKAY SO! (<- incredibly excited to talk about this.) The anime and games take place in essentially the same world (but different timelines), so the world-building is similar, with a few notable exceptions. For example, most of the characters and their stories not overlapping, and a lot of ages being changed. (For example, anime Serena is 10, but game Serena is implied by other characters to be an older teenager.) There are also a few anime-only characters and a lot of game-only characters and characters who overlap having different personalities.

You can watch the anime here. The website seems to be ordered in reverse chronological order, so just scroll to the bottom if you wanna start at the beginning. Indigo League (the first season) is my favorite. I also really like Orange Islands. Diamond and Pearl is also great. You don’t have to watch the seasons in order to understand things, because most plots don’t span across multiple seasons. You can even skip around a little in seasons, but you might be a little confused about little plots. I do recommend at least watching the first few episodes of a season before other episodes to get acquainted with the characters and their dynamics. I remember that X and Y have some overarching plots that are pretty important to the story, so that one is probably a little harder to watch out of order.

Pokémon Concierge is also amazing. It’s stop motion and very pretty and made me cry. I can’t find a place to watch it online, but it’s on Netflix if you have that. (Or I’m sure that it’s online somewhere.)

You can also watch playthroughs of the games. For the most part, though, people in them do not go too into the little details of the games and will skip through dialogue. I looked around for some, and I’ve never watched his videos, but I skimmed through, and this guy seems to have done a pretty detailed playthrough of Sword. He’s also done Pokémon Scarlet! It seems like he narrates all of the lines, too, so you can even watch while paying half-attention. Another guy seems to have played Black and White, and Black 2 and White 2 in a similar style. I’ve never watched his videos, but he’s a pretty big YouTuber. B/W and B2/W2 are the absolute best games in the franchise in my opinion.

For the games, they are almost entirely standalone. You don’t need any knowledge of a previous game to understand what’s going on. The only exceptions are the rare occasions in which there will be a cameo of a character from a previous game. (For example, Red and Blue show up in the Alola region, and Ingo shows up in Legends Arceus. Although you don’t actually have to have played their games to get what’s going on. They’re introduced like any other character. Just fun Easter eggs.) Or in the only case of like a true sequel in the series, which is Black and White to Black 2 and White 2.

My personal favorite Pokétubers are these two. They don’t really do lore stuff, but I love their content. WolfeyVGC does official competitive, and has won the World Championship before! And FlygonHG is an amazing Nuzlocker and super funny. (If you’re unfamiliar with what a Nuzlocke is, it’s a challenge run where if a Pokémon faints, it’s dead forever, and you can only catch the first Pokémon you find per route.) They’re definitely not required watching or anything, but their stuff is really interesting. Wolfey talks a lot about which Pokémon are competitively viable, and Flygon has super suspenseful runs, and even manages to make the most of Pokémon that aren’t very good when it comes to battling in his runs. I love the stories and characters in the games, but I’m also super deep in the more hardcore community-focused battling and challenges, and these two fall into the latter category.

There are also a bunch of others who fall into a bunch of different niches. Here are a few guys who I watch who do pretty funny battling content with their friends.

Decided to make a welcome to my blog post

What up? I'm Sunflower and this is where a lot of my artistic energy ends up nowadays. You can expect to find OC stuff, occasional digital and traditional art, poetry sometimes, blurbs about my life, and (eventually) fanfiction, and whatever else I decide to put on here.

In general, but especially for OCs asks are always welcome (as long as the inbox is open) and you can go to previous lists I have posted no matter how long ago to pull from. Hopefully you or some of your wonderful followers can help me out with a really odd question: what is the difference between an AU and a crossover fic?

This might sound silly, but I've always assumed that a crossover is something like "Sherlock and John, while solving a case, cross paths with Mulder and Scully who are also trying to solve their mystery, and they join up to work together." vs. an AU is more like "Sherlock and John are solving cases in the X-Files universe" and their characters are like combinations: Sherlock/Mulder and John/Scully. But the characters from X-Files don't actually exist in the fic.

Or even fics that are just a completely new universe altogether, not necessarily based on an already known one (like Sherlock and John are from Las Vegas and Sherlock the always winning poker player is under suspicion from security guard John that he is cheating, and that is how they meet, etc etc) would be considered an AU.

Anyway, that is how I've always filtered on AO3 when searching. But now I've come across a few lately that are tagged AU but when I start reading them, they are more what I consider crossover fics (which aren't my preference, sorry. I just don't care to read about Sherlock and Iron Man working together lol).

Maybe I've missed out on some great fics that were tagged as crossover but were actually AU's? Is my assumption of which one is which completely off base? Other than reading every fic until it's obvious which type of story it is, is there a better way to at least get an idea for filtering purposes?

I don't want to miss out on fantastic fics because I don't really understand what they're about because I've misunderstood all along!

Alright, so here's how _I_ personally understand it, and I'm probably totally off-piste, but it's how I've always understood and try my best in my sorting of fics. PLEASE note that EVERYTHING BELOW is how I PERSONALLY UNDERSTAND it all.

Generally, there's a VERY thin line between AUs and Crossovers AND it also melts into Fusion fics as well.

Alternate Universes:

Basically, AU (or Alternate Universe, for my newbie lovelies) is the "larger umbrella term" that all fics NOT following canon events have. These can be as simple as a non-canon-compliant fic, but GENERALLY it's understood as stories that take place in different franchises, eras, timelines, professions, species, etc. That's the broader definition. It covers everything, really. It doesn't necessarily mean just other franchises, but it can contain them.

But in terms of "this story with BBC Sherlock Characters takes place during the Avengers" for instance, each character from BBC Sherlock REPLACES a character in the Avengers. They would never ever meet any of the cast of the main Avengers IF they are a replacement character.

So let's say we're adapting the Avengers. For the sake of this example: Sherlock is Tony, John is Captain America, Molly is Black Widow, etc. Now THOSE characters in the Avengers franchise should never show up AS those characters. We are doing one-for-one replacements to put Sherlock Characters into the MCU AS Iron Man, AS Black Widow, AS Captain America. Tony, Natasha, and Steve cannot exist in this universe.

(as an aside though, given the MCU's current state of Variants existing in multiverses, it can be argued that they can exist, but I'm being pedantic... for the sake of this example let's say they don't)

TL:DR; we replace main characters with other main characters, and those main characters from either franchise should never meet. So TECHNICALLY what is labelled for your example is actually correct (Crossovers and AU), and unfortunately the filtering needs to be whittled down more. Filtering by "Alternate Universe" does NOT guarantee no-Crossovers, so you will have to add crossovers as an exclusion in your filtered terms. On AO3, there is a place to select exclusions, so just type in "Crossovers" there, or character names.

Crossovers and Fusions

I'm grouping these two together because my understanding of these two is that they're PRETTY close to each other enough that they do overlap.

Crossovers are stories that characters from one franchise meet and interact with characters from another franchise; no characters are omitted intentionally, and don't replace other characters in a story. For instance, in a Harry Potter AU, the Sherlock gang all go to Hogwarts, and Harry and Co. all exist and continue on with their story, probably interact occasionally, but we're focusing on the Sherlock gang and their exploits rather than Potter people.

Fusion stories, or my understanding of them anyway, is one of two things:

You have characters that replace SOME of the characters but keep OTHER characters from Universe 2 to interact with Universe 1. Let's go back to the Avengers sample; Sherlock (Tony), John (Steve) and Molly (Natasha) meet and interact with Bruce Banner and Clint. Now it's a FUSION of two universes, interacting and existing based on the actions of what our BBC AvengersLock is doing.

A fusion can ALSO be adapting or using a franchise storyline as inspiration for the plotline of what an author is writing, ie. the rules of ONE franchise's universe can be brought into another. So you can have a FUSION of Sherlock and the X-Files by adapting an X-Files episode as inspiration for the story with BBC Sherlock characters, but doesn't necessarily take place in the X-Files Universe, just simply the rules of the X-Files universe apply also to the BBC Sherlock Universe.

ALL that said, the gist of what I'm trying to say is this: All Crossovers and Fusions are Alternate Universes, but not all Alternate Universes are Crossovers/Fusions.

I tried my best to simplify everything as best I could, so I hope I helped a bit. And hey, if I'm wrong somewhere, or you want better clarification, feel free, all, to reply or send me another ask :)

Characters: Isagi Yoichi & Hiori Yo

(A/N: Hiori went berserk and feral on the latest chapter of the manga and I’m living for it. Him cursing and talking back to Isagi is sexy af I couldn’t deny myself any longer and wrote this sin on my server. Before proceeding to read downwards, please be aware of the tags and spoiler warnings. Any unnecessary comment or complaint will not be tolerated as there are sufficient tags and warnings enough. If you’re good to go then join me in this hell. Also, I noticed that Hiori’s kansai accent is gone when he goes feral and demanding lol. I don’t own anything from this franchise only this fic that reeks of sin and filth).

“Who the hell do you think you are huh? Barking orders at me like I’m your dog?” Hiori snarled as he grabbed the lapels of Isagi’s shirt and backed him against the wall of the bathroom.

The match was over ages ago.

But the adrenaline rush was still pumping into his veins like a firecracker that threatened to explode and engulf his entire being in an inexplicable fire of desire and authority.

Isagi licked his lips slowly as a devious smirk painted over his lips. His eyes raked over Hiori’s entire being. From those flashing aquamarine eyes, those sinful lips drawn into a predatory snarl, to his rigid posture and taut muscles which were ready to attack him any minute now if he uttered even a wrong word to him.

It made his blood sing.

It made Isagi want to push him harder.

To see his limit finally cracking in front of him.

“Isn’t that what you are? If I’m not mistaken earlier, you eagerly wanted to follow me on the field before you went on your own.” Isagi drawled out lazily.

Hiori narrowed his eyes as his grip tightened and his face inched closer to him that Isagi could feel and sense the hot breaths emanating from his mouth and his body heat which made his senses drunk with want and his mind clouded in a dangerous yet scintillating sensation of need and desire.

“Shut the fuck up you asshole. Don’t compare me to the likes of Ness who is a damn lapdog of Kaiser. Don’t order me around like you own me. If it weren’t for me earlier, you wouldn’t make a fucking impact in the field you bastard.” Hiori growled at him.

“Then make me. Or maybe you’re all just talk and—.”

Isagi’s words died on his throat and his eyes widened for a fraction of second as Hiori finally closed the gap between the two of them and captured his lips in a deep yet searing kiss that stole his breath and made his mind blank instantaneously.

“Don’t fucking test me Isagi or you’ll regret it.” He mumbled hotly against his lips as his tongue tried to plunder itself into the entrance of his mouth.

Isagi quickly got his bearings as his tongue fought against the other’s tongue in a fierce battle of dominance as both of them not wanting to hand over the dominion to one another and wanted to devour every fiber of their entire being.

Hiori’s finally let go of the lapels around his shirt but instead it rested on his hips in a firm grip while his knee maneuvered its way towards his thigh and gave it a teasing brush which made Isagi gasped inside his mouth as the heated friction it created near his cock which pulsated with arousal and want.

This made Hiori take advantage and plunged his tongue inside his mouth and licked at the sensitive seams beneath it.

“You fucking asshole. Playing dirty.” Isagi moaned lecherously inside his mouth.

“I’m just taking an offered opportunity right in front of me.” Hiori swallowed his moans and mewls in a wild, dirty kiss.

His other hand blindly searched for the switch and turned on the shower to which the water cascaded down vigorously on their bodies and drowned out the noises they were making from the loud, splashing sounds coming out of it.

Hiori didn’t waste his time as he briefly pulled away and discarded his wet clothes haphazardly into the ground while Isagi watched with a dazed expression on his face. His mind still reeling from the earth-shattering kiss the other gave him and his body was still tingling all over.

Hiori caught him staring and their eyes met.

Ocean blue eyes clashing against his verdant orbs.

Isagi swallowed thickly. Who knew that underneath his uniform lies a slender yet toned frame which could captivate even in the realm of Gods?

“Like what you see?” Hiori asked in a disdainful yet playful voice.

“Shut the fuck up and help me take my clothes off.” Isagi shot back as he resisted the urge to blush like crazy in front of him.

He didn’t want to give him the satisfaction that he affected him in a way that even made his heart somersaulted like crazy inside his chest.

This earned a throaty chuckle from Hiori and finally helped him in taking off his soaked clothes into the ground.

“Now where was I?” Hiori drawled idly as his fingertips brushed teasingly against his torso which made Isagi’s breath hitched in his throat.

“Stop teasing me you asshole.” Isagi grumbled, hiding the fact that his body was shivering from his mere touch.

“Still sassy as ever. Well, you’re not you if you’re not like that. But will you stay like that if I do this?” Hiori’s mouth descended on the pale column of his throat while his hand moved lower and lower until it landed in one of his thighs and squeezed it teasingly.

“I’d like to see you t-try.” Isagi cursed inwardly for stammering at the end, but he couldn’t ignore how a spark of electricity ran through his nerves upon feeling his hand touching on his thigh.

A smirk made its way towards Hiori’s lips before he grew bolder and moved enticingly towards his backside and caressed it before one of his fingers made its way inside his entrance and skirted inside his velvety walls which pulsated with need and want.

Isagi moaned out at the intrusion before his hands grappled his back for support and guidance as the overwhelming sensation shot right through him.

“F-fuck...” He breathed out.

Hiori’s tongue licked at the sensitive expanse of his skin while he inserted another finger inside of him and scissored his insides experimentally, going a bit deeper.

A salacious mewl escaped from Isagi when a blazing sensation hit right though him which made him see stars instantaneously.

“Found it.” Hiori murmured huskily as his fingers continued to abuse his sweet spot and hit the bundle of nerves repeatedly which made Isagi drool and moan out in delight.

“Fuck Hiori... T-that feels g-good...”

Just as he was enjoying himself, Hiori stop and pulled his fingers out which earned a needy whine from Isagi.

“What the hell? Why’d you stop?”

“As much as I want to go on Isagi-kun, I think it would only be right if you beg me for it nicely?” Hiori asked in faux sweetness which made Isagi ground his teeth.

“Beg? Are you fucking kidding me?” He growled out.

“Oh? Don’t want to? It’s fine. I’ll just leave you here to deal with it.” Hiori was about to leave and as if a switch flipped inside Isagi he quickly took his wrist and pulled him closer.

“Don’t you fucking leave me like this.” He breathed out. “I... please... just fuck me Hiori...” He added in a faltering yet needy voice.

“What was that? Can’t hear you?” Hiori asked mockingly.

“Please fuck me damn it! Are you gonna put it in or would you want me to do the work?” Isagi groused, hiding his desperation.

Hiori laughed huskily.

“Nah. I’m just teasing you Isagi-kun. It’s nice seeing you like this where you belong.”

Before he could retort, Hiori’s hands hoisted him up against the walls and made him wrap his legs around his hips for leverage and support as he finally gave a one, swift thrust towards him which earned a light gasp and colorful expletives right out of his mouth.

“God fucking dammit Hiori... Were you always this big?” Isagi’s hand reached for his back and let his nails raked on his skin which made the cyan haired hissed at the pain and pleasure hitting him simultaneously.

“You’re just fucking tight... Fuck Isagi... Tell me when I can move...” Hiori replied breathlessly as his walls held his cock like a vice, his body shaking with desire and want.

For a moment, neither of them moves nor speak. Only their harsh breathings which were drowned out by the loud splashing sounds from the showerhead can be heard inside the bathroom.

“Try to move now damn it...” Isagi finally broke the silence and Hiori eagerly complied as he pulled away and snapped his hips voraciously when he slammed right back into him.

“Fuck! Ngh! Hiori fuck...!” Isagi groaned out as he didn’t know whether he wanted the other to slow down or pound into him like there’s no tomorrow.

Hiori’s mouth immediately descended on his own and sealed it in a deep, fiery kiss and swallowed all the pleasurable noises which were coming right out of his mouth.

His thrusts became frantic and desperate, railing him against the walls recklessly.

“Fuck! Felt good around me Isagi. It’s as if you’re born to take my cock like this...!” He mumbled hotly against his mouth as he continued to plunder his insides in wild abandon.

A whine and a mewl only slipped from Isagi’s lips as a response. The rational part of his mind had completely shut down as he surrendered himself to the sinful ecstasy and pleasure that Hiori was giving him.

This one felt appropriate to put first lol I was really liking the way it was turning out... and then I lost motivation lol. Think this is from 2 years ago-ish.

Here's another of my OC. I was going to make a super cool battle illustration with super cool effects and super cool lighting and I gave up almost instantly lol. SHE HAS NO WRISTS!!

This is one I made for Drawfest 2, like, 2 years ago now, I think. I thought it was coming along kinda nice except I couldn't get the perspective to look right so my character ended up looking huge lmao.

Here's ANOTHER of my OC. This one is really old lol. I've redesigned her now and I don't use this shading style anymore, so I retired this profile picture really early on.

Pico jumpscare I got really into Pico's school way back when and never saw any fanart for his death screen. So I wanted to try my hand at it. Got through the lineart before I decided I didn't like it and was not skilled enough to salvage it so I gave up. Might redraw this in the future though!

Haha mind the huge empty space on this one.

This was going to be a picture of Gregory and Freddy from FNaF Security Breach (made this around the time the game came out), but I quickly realized I couldn't draw animatronics and quit lol. You can kinda see the stripe on Gregory's shirt, but my sketching abilities back then were awful so it's a little hard.

ASJKFHSABFHJBF I ALMOST FORGOT I WAS DRAWING HIMMM!! This bean is a character from To Your Eternity, an anime I randomly found on Netflix once and fell in love with (I quit at the weird scene in the prison tho, remind me to finish it). HE WAS SO CUTE I JUST HAD TO DRAW HIM <3 Also this isn't the ball, this is the boy. I just didn't get to his eyes.

So me and my sister were talking a few years ago, and I think one of us misspoke and said "Coffee shot" instead of "Coffee shop," so this AU was born.

It's a coffee shop called the Coffee Shot staffed by characters that love guns and have guns and shoot guns and I love them. The shop is frequented by characters from other franchises (in this case Danganronpa), and it's got the best coffee and the best theming you've ever seen >:)

I quit on this picture really quick tho. Made the sketch on Photoshop 2 years ago, transferred the sketch to FireAlpaca, then realized the sketch sucked and didn't bother trying again.

Let this be a lesson that not all of your pictures are going to go the way you want to. Your sketches are going to be messy, your lineart isn't going to match up, your colors are going to look funky, and your shading is going to want to make you rip out your hair sometimes.

I think what's important is to make sure that all that stuff doesn't discourage you.

If you give up all together, you'll never know what you'd've been able to produce if you hadn't.

If a picture isn't working for you, find out why. Then quit that picture, practice, and come back. You'll be able to compare yourself to your own art instead of other people's, which will give you a clearer sense of how far you've come.

I’ve been calling it Kidz Bop Conspiracy Theories, but some of the videos are just nice super long video essays that are good to have on in the background

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: yes. If I have to pick just one savory probably wins because I love salt but the other two are awesome too

Relationship Status: single. Aiming to be a spinster tbh I enjoy my alone time more than I enjoy most relationships.

Last thing I googled: “good pizza great pizza sign language” there’s a character who orders in sign and I thought I remembered one of the signs but not all the ones the character used so I looked it up to make sure.

Current Obsession: as previously mentioned FNAF lore, which is like a begrudging interest and I haven’t given the creator any money, but aside from that still being weird about The Hunger Games franchise and doing my art 👍🏻 I guess I’ve also been looking up A Lot of life figure drawings to get ideas for poses when I model too. Trying to keep things fresh when you have the same group of people every week is a task.

1. Who is your favourite character in 2?

Aziraphale. I’m like Crowley IRL, as interesting of a sentence as that might be, and I absolutely adore Azi. I love his character, I love his little actions and the details put into him, he’s such a sweet and wonderful person.

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1?

Opinion that’ll probably get at least one knife to my neck here, but if I am *fully* honest with myself, Rose or Jack. I just never liked Rose, I love series 1 of nuwho very much because of CE but some of those original scenes with Rose I just couldn’t watch. I’m not a fan of her at all. Give me any companion BUT Rose and I’m happy. 🫠

3. What’s your favourite episode of 4?

Ooh! Definitely into the unknown. when I first watched it so very long ago it really got to me. The real life aspect, showing the kids behind the metaphorical curtain, leading further into fan theories and canon lore, it’s fantastic. Runner up would probably be mad love, because who doesn’t love a talking horse in a mansion.

4. What is your favourite season of 5?

Hmm… probably season 2 or 3. I prefer the older seasons to the newer ones by a bit. But I am partial to newer seasons on account of Sunburst being there. x)

5. What’s your favourite relationship in 3?

Easiest answer of my life. Data and Geordi. No bias on my part, of course… but I adore them. The duality of human /android & the genuine love and care and emotion between them is fantastic. I love their adventures, who doesn’t, and of course I’m a massive fan of the sherlock one in specific.

6. Who is your anti relationship in 2?

I’m also going to steal an answer, Newton and Anathema. I loved Newt, I have a soft spot for, and I say this with love, pathetic loser men with glasses, but I didn’t like them together in the slightest. Blah blah blah, prophecies prophecies prophecies, I’m not for it. It’s just not a pairing I care for even if I love the two by themselves respectively.

7. How long have you watched 1?

8. How did you become interested in 3?

I’ve had a casual interest forever, but got properly into ST as a franchise around when I was in middle school with watching TOS and TNG. My then best friend was a big warsie, and becoming a trekkie didn’t really put as at odds but it was a fun dynamic to have. We were both on the same robotics team for years, her dad having been the coach, and her whole family being big wars fans, so it was entertaining effectively being the sole trek fan in the team lol.

9. Who is your favourite actor in 4?

… actor? Uh, the beast, I suppose. Are they really actors, though? VA wise, Melanie Lynskey with Beatrice or Elijah Wood with Wirt.

10. Which show do you prefer 1, 2 or 5?

One. I love all of them, they’re all very dear to my heart, but nothing will touch DW when it comes to my favorite show. DW and GO are close but DW wins this series I’m afraid.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?

Both are “long”, but DW as a whole is just so much longer than one ST series so it’s a no brainer. DW.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

Mr. President, Jason Funderberker, Greg’s frog. I think it’d be fun to be a frog taken on adventures through the woods, even if those adventures are horrifying and scarring. I’d even get to sing a few songs along the way

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 5?

Kill off Sunburst… uh, make antiquing illegal. Probably. Kill off Time Turner… make Derpy disappear. Kill off Perfect Pace… make pocket watches stop working. Boom

14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?

Anything is possible with the right attitude, but I have absolutely no idea how the Enterprise could enter the Unknown, so probably not.

15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.

Stealing a second answer, odd variations of Doc/Mas. I’m fond of 11 and Spymaster, 10 and Spymaster, 13 and Missy, 11 and Simm Master, and I’m going to hold out a bit of copium for 14 somehow meeting Simm Master again. x(

We made Taxi specifically for the fic, but we have been working on everything since February, so it has been a while in that regard lol.

As for pronouns... We have no idea. Taxi has pronouns of some variety, but neither coauthor knows. We could not decide, and at this point we have committed to never referring to Taxi with pronouns, not cuz Taxi doesn't have them, but because we do not know lol. So no worries on not being able to find them, that's intentional XD

I'm glad you like Taxi! Taxi is super fun to write. Literally just a random person who gets dragged into the insanity that is this franchise lol. The planning doc is literally "Taxidermist is the best FNAF character" or something, so glad to know we're on the same page there lol

Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack (1988) Utterly obvious to die girlies auf tumblr but don’t worry, it’s the only franchise gatekeepy one. God tier animation, OST that gives me heart palpitations, plot symbolically rich in a way that draws me back. Absurdly ambitious and largely pulls it off. Insane. Phantom of the Paradise (1974) I’m a sucker for leitmotifs being re-contextualized and this movie is exactly that. I think a lotta people are put off by musicals because they expect Glee shit, so a horror rock opera that plays w genres is a style that slaps. In fact, it’s style over substance to the point that while the character Beef was made with homophobic intent(?), he makes for killer camp. So influential it buried its own grave deeper, but when my drag career continues proper I WILL have it step out of RHPS’s shadow. Magnetic Rose (1995) This one’s arguably cheating, it’s a short film within a theatrical omnibus and the only one of the trio I rewatch, lol. Better experienced than described, but iirc it’s the first screenplay credit of Satoshi Kon and his style benefits the conceit greatly. The space physics are top tier too. Bound (1996) Genre fiction that fucks. Akira (1988) After watching this for the first time, I wore a rip of it on a USB necklace for like a good month, lol. If you’ve seen so many homages and #aesthetic gifs that its memetically weakened, the manga will be a better vehicle for experiencing the actual plot and themes. (Kaneda isn’t a cool protag! He’s not even in it for a full volume!) But I fortunately got to go into it w next to no preconceptions. Tampopo (1985) One of those art-house pics that’s fun to general audiences. I wouldn’t watch it with young kids or new friends tho given the prawn scene, lmao. The Terminal (2004) Not a masterpiece by anyone’s standards, but it was my fav for years as a child and I’ve been told “thats so you” or “that explains so much” lmao. I still do love seeing how peoples values and coping mechanisms materially shape their world, so, fair! As an adult, i think Tucci’s character holds up the best, his tone is comedically sound while being realistically mundane for an american authoritarian, lol. Funeral Parade of Roses (1969) A breath of fresh air in style and substance. It’s like a vaccine against MCU sludge. God I need to watch more new wave. The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970) Again, former obsessions here, not necessarily top quality. The first vignette is the only one that sticks with me, but boy does it! Gold standard for any fanfiction or diagetic media criticism. Mikey and Nicky (1976) Ough. Love me a good tragedy. This one manages to hit so hard it even overcomes Peter Falk being styled (‘styled’) like Columbo—italian accent and all— while playing a jewish gangster lol.) You know that post about how the more serious and well made a story is, the more likely its fandom makes unhinged memes? That’s me every time I make a “full of milk” joke abt this movie or realize it’s fundamentally changed my experience of taking antacids.

Anyways please note that i’ve structured this list so that the first and last entries form a niche parallel. That is to say, a personal fav scene in both Mikey & Nicky and CCA is where the lead guys fistfight and tumble onto the ground in a blur of violence-as-latent-homoeroticism. My slash shipping friends don't think this whole "It's not real if they don't kiss" attitude is a thing that exists among M/F fandom pairings, but I would love to thank everyone without reading comprehension for giving me this example to show them lol

Snark aside though, if this W was any bigger, it'd be replacing Warner Music Group's current logo. Spirk is THEE ship that saved this franchise from obscurity and not even THEY have gotten this kind of huge moment in the sun in official canon like we've been given in Prodigy.

Also, keep in mind that unlike live action media, where actors can make choices that go against what the writers or creatives want (see also: Garashir), any and everything that makes it into an animated shot, especially one where animated motion is involved, was done with intention.

This one was a very deliberately thought out easter egg that could've easily have been left out as we'd already seen Chakotay gift her his chah-moo-zee, a very, very, veeeeery personal heirloom to pass down to anyone, and that would've also sufficed. But no, we get this mirror that also had stones from their time from the Delta Quadrant. I thought I had the passenge screenshots but I think they've been shared recently enough at the time of this posting on July 29th 2024 to find in the tag.

But hey, let's put aside beta canon and look at the show itself. Damn near every time J/C are in the same scene as Dal and Gywn--two characters who HAVE kissed and who we know have feelings for one another--the show makes a point of juxtaposing the latter with similar actions from the former. I mean, it's clear enough that an 8 year old fan asked Kate Mulgrew about whether Janeway was in love with him or not in a rather adorable clip I saw on Twitter (and good taste on kid, you're gonna love this ship tag in seven to ten years!). I mean, that's someone in the target demo of the show who picked up what the writers was laying down like Chakotay did the minute he and Janeway got some privacy after their reunion

It's just strange to me that people think this is not something to be excited for as someone who came into VOY shortly after it ended and never thought we'd have any official follow up to the show after Janeway's two second cameo in Nemesis. When we got that bullshit asspull in Endgame we thought that was the end of that and C/7 was forever more, the end (thankfully, Picard pulled that bandaid right off with gay Seven tho). Most of us just ignored that entirely.

But even if there weren't all these details? The great thing about fandom is we can transform it into our own vision *anyway*. And I love what we got because it's just enough where I can still have scope for the imagination where I can still fill in my own blanks.

But in this case? As much as I'd love to see an actual kiss onscreen, this has watered my crops and cleared my skin more than any other callback or shout-out in Modern Trek. For comparison, Picard and Crusher, the J/C equivalent on TNG, had a whole ass CHILD but apparently were a Ross/Rachel level disaster of a couple that Crusher went off the grid to raise the kid. That one was confirmed but speaking as someone who shipped that concurrent to J/C in the 2000s, I know which of the two feels far more satisfying because here I am, writing my first two J/C fanfics since high school, re-watching VOY (a show I have unfortunately slagged off after learned from other fans that it was "bad" but now realize many ppl were gonna hate it no matter what it did) and having headcanons of Janeway and Chakotay doing the JoJo torture dance together on their Lake George date (we all know that's a date when he came by with a frigging ROSE and I'm tired of pretending otherwise!) because I'm a shit poster at heart but also, these two have been through it and need some fun.

This post was longer than I expected it to be, but TLDR: OP is right and kissing is not the only way to convey that two people live each other. it's not even the most meaningful way, most of the time.

In Janeway’s Ready Room on the Voyager A (seen in episode 5) are a bunch of mementos from her adventures. Some are obvious, such as the framed arachnid on the wall as a reference to her Captain Proton Holodeck adventure, or the mini Voyager model…

But there’s ONE deep cut memento you might not realize the significance of. And that’s this compact mirror she stops to admire.

Which is a reference to a series of short stories that was published around 2005 under the title “Distant Shores.”

And in this series of short stories is one titled “Isabo’s Shirt” written by Kristen Beyer. And the story centers around Janeway and Chakotay… going on a DATE.

So when Janeway looks over the mementos in her Ready Room, she specifically stops and dwells on this compact mirror and the episode takes the time to show her doing this and show how much it means to her.

I’m sorry, but how are you lamenting that J/C is NOT cannon after witnessing THAT??? The writers of Prodigy took non-cannon short stories from 2005 about a J/C date and turned it into factual, textual, official Star Trek cannon!!!
