i was going to let this go but its happened a few times now and i want to address it before it becomes A Thing™️

DO NOT come into my ask box whining and begging me to appeal to blackstar on your behalf. if you want art made by him, he has a commission page. if you want to submit a request, well look at that he has an ask box! if you got blocked, i don’t care.

i have exactly ZERO authority on what he draws outside of my commissions and i have even less authority than that to tell him who and who not to block. i will NEVER put the feelings of some rando in my ask box above the feelings of someone i care very deeply about. if you got blocked, then you probably were acting like a shit head and deserved it.

if you know all of this and still feel the need to appeal your case to me, i want you to go through a quick checklist:

3.) what makes you think im going to try to appeal your case to him when I don’t know you and you’ve now made BOTH of us uncomfortable?

What if we were both magic prodigies and it otherized us in different ways and we devoted ourselves to protecting a family member who has general other goals & priorities. What if we both did self-sacrifical devotion in opposite ways.

What if we were dark mirrors of each other and where I've grown overcontrolling you've grown complacent. She’s what’s tethering him do you see… And he’s the only thing giving her direction and purpose in her state. She needs a compass and he needs a support.

They’re both so out of it 😭 It’s the weirdly intense and unearned mutual trust and reliance on each other?? They’re each other’s weird little comfort codependent teddy bear. Or at least they were headed towards that before SHE DIED THEN HE DIED THEN THEY BOTH FORGOT ABOUT EACH OTHER AND NEVER MET EVER AGAIN. Though she’s also the guard attack hound keeping him safe… And vice versa he heals her and can rewrite her very being with just one wave of his hand. They’re both so so mentally and physically vulnerable both but they cling onto each other. They can’t perceive things accurately but despite it all someway somehow they stumble into something closer to resembling companionship just before they both die. Falin is just that kind and Thistle is just that lonely. Overworked. We both haven’t lived for ourselves in a very long time, haven’t we.

They both have a similar devotion to the people they love but again the difference is that Thistle starts overtsepping while Falin is self-effacing. The other difference between them is that people care about Falin <3 People have given up on Thistle long ago, and he has given people reasons to, while people refuse to give up on Falin. Yaad has a mini arc about it dw about it it’s ok he’s not all alone in the end 😭😭 He reached out for Marcille’s hand but they already all wanted to help him, they just had to be given the chance to, Yaad just had to be given the chance to, it’s okay I’m okay

There must be people who experience specific instinct things with indifference or boredom.

Procreative cycle coming up? "Crap, I've got plans this weekend...stupid skip weeks."

Caught an intriguing scent while walking? "But I need to get to work! Shut up brain."

Had a snap response to a distressed sound? "Who was it?! ...right, it's my day off, I can go back to sleep."

Somebody growled at them? "Kid, I'm not a rival, that's my sibling."

Super cozy cuddle session happening nearby? "I'm gonna pass tonight guys, no social battery left, maybe next time."

Group of friends heading out to flirt and check out other singles? "I'm coming with you but only to make sure you all get home safe."

Setting where fated mates or soul bonds or permanent marks are a thing? "Meh. I don't really want one or care if I ever get one."

People in the actual omegaverse would get as bored of their stuff, as we do of ours, you know? It could be interesting to see that kind of vibe in fics. Biological demands faced with all the excitement of paying bills or doing laundry or tying your shoes.

Even if that kind of energy might not drive a plot, it could be interesting to have as a contrast to the people who do have big feelings about them - good or bad.

There's the friends who can't wait til they have a pack of their own, and the one friend who isn't against it but couldn't care less. There's the group in the office who are all about scent compatibility tests and figuring out one's best match and what sprays most highlight it, and the coworker who has no intentions on putting that much effort in. There are parents who hover and protect their offspring by scenting them multiple times a day, and others who don't see what the fuss is as long as it's done in the morning.

...also: packs with introverts who show care by giving each other space. So often, closeness is depicted through physical touch and tactile affection, but comfortable silence is meaningful too. Knowing people are near, but not having to interact until you're ready. Sitting in the same room doing different things, knowing that all it takes is a "hey, look at this" to share what you're up to. People understanding and accepting each other's differing or fluctuating needs for how and when to recharge. Seeing somebody reaching out or sharing space, beyond what's their norm, as a signal of the fact that they care.

If you have ever wondered how I handle being in classes with younger people, just know that a group I was assigned to is currently having tension issues because one person has been openly shit talking everyone to their face and apparently when asked what the problem is, just said they don't like our group because "the vibes are off" (read more because I am complaining and I feel rude sigh)

1, I don't know what the fucking means and 2, now actively dislike this person because they have made me and everyone else feel like we did something wrong!! To the point where one of them approached me to tell me all this and ask how I felt about it because 3, apparently I had been apologizing constantly when we were working together last week and didn't notice, and she felt bad because I wasn't doing anything wrong but clearly was picking up on this person's rancid fucking vibe (yes I am being a hypocrite)

and when I tried to apologize for any perceived slight in a different class, because yes I have to share more than one class with this person, they literally just said "it's fine, I don't really give a shit about other people's opinions" and I just????? Brother me correcting you on information was not an opinion, A, and B, what the fuck is your problem lol
