If somebody in your life offers to knit or crochet or, really, create anything for you, please be an active participant in the creation of the piece they are making. I adore making and gifting things, but nothing bums me out quicker than a person who passively just goes "okay," to my ideas about what I'm making them - it can send the message that they won't like it, or that they don't care, even if they're happy about my offering. The back-and-forth feedback is a great way to make sure that you are being gifted something that was truly worth the time, effort, expertise, and money that will inevitably go into the gift!

I know it's really hard to be an active participant, believe me, I'm an anxious ball of horror, but it will only do good for both parties to interact in this situation. It is a big deal to be offered a hand-crafted gift, but it's also something we want you to love and use, and that can only happen if you tell us what would make you fall in love with what we create.

The envelope had been placed on the dining room table that stretched across one of the larger rooms of the Oswald Cobblepot estate. It was laid in such a way to be immediately spotted once you'd left the bedroom. Ivory in color, with a seal- Deep purple wax with silver speckles. An emblem of a bird pressed into the material.

As you pull out the paper, you notice his fine penmanship in cursive.

My dearest cuckoo,

I penned this note as I listened to the soft ticking of your mechanisms from the other room. How you "sleep" fascinates me still- winding up your cogs and the fact you trust me so! You've given me the treasured role of not only your lover, your lifelong companion... You've given me the physical ability to restart your heart every morning as you start mine. My sleeping beauty, wakened with the magic of romance.

I write this letter to give a reminder you may read whenever you need it. Others may look upon you, unaware of the fortune it is to know you, and pull themselves away- just as they have pulled away from myself. There is something about us that reminds them of the different. The "other" that humanity fears so. Yet every person that pulls away from us, brings me ever closer to you. I have received -ahem- official permission to buy and use certain things otherwise illegal in my state for purposes of fighting my insomnia and Other. Things. that I've been struggling with for a long time.

I finally have something that might help in my hand and I'm hesitating because I can't shake that deeply rooted belief medicine is Bad and Evil that my dad liked to shove in my face all during my childhood. Couldn't take meds when I was sick, no, I had to survive on sprite and crackers and cough syrup at best. And this, this stuff that I was told was Extra Bad and Evil for a good chunk of my life? Absolutely not, not allowed

It's dumb. I've seen it help my brothers, hell I've taken stuff before from their stash (with permission) and my brain is still digging in heels and not letting me take it.

Now that Greta's update has finally been posted (give or take future tweaks because I literally could not focus on the Church scenes to save my life), I hope it was worth the wait. It wasn't all that plot heavy but you did gain a new friend -- well, sort of depending on a certain choice you made.

I haven't gotten any bug reports so I'm taking that as a good sign!! Did we finally get an update that didn't break anything?!

Now then, on to chapter two which will converge then separate based on your routes on Chapter One. Also working on tweaking the prologue but that will be posted at a later time and be worked on slowly. I hope you all enjoyed that small update!! Thank you for your patience and I apologize if it wasn't amazingly fun like Hollond and Galeon's route!!
