Alright from now on I'm going to avoid doomscrolling and looking up news for things I can't impact at all. Let's focus on the things I can impact. I've found the name of a local homeless support volunteer group and I'll see if I can find their contact details.

I JUST GOT A CALL BACK FROM THE JOB I APPLIED TO AAAAH I’M SO EXCITED !!!! THEY’RE GONNA PUT ME IN TOMORROW ALREADY I’M SO. HAPPY. OMG.

#they said they’d call people in to work after three weeks but I got this call FIVE DAYS after the interview !!!!!!#I’m so happy they literally said I left a good impression on them !!!!!!! I thought I did bad but they liked me !!!!!!#younger me would be flabbergasted to know how excited I am about getting a job in a grocery store but I’m over the moon #Literally me ideal workplace at the moment #SO happy I don’t have to go back to the summer job I had last summer bro omg.#gonna be awkward to call them back though cause I’m already on schedule to work for them this summer but this other job seems 10x better #AND the new job is a 10 minute bike ride away from home !!!!!#The old job was like. a 40 minute commute. over an hour total.#I had no life when I worked there I’m so serious I’m SO grateful I got this other job #now I just need to lock in and be on my best behaviour tomorrow since it’s just practice #but I probably got this in the bag trust

#it may be the worst superintendent gig in the organization but it could be mine so 🤷🤷#the leadership experience plus being in a different work environment PLUS like 15k more a year…#could be worth it!#it would be a longer commute but like eh #it would be worth it to not feel like death all the time #to actually feel valued and maybe get some quality mentorship?? hell yeah!!!!#there’s a reason most of the people at that location have worked there forever #they’re a great team #and they’ve always treated me very well #so like. i could be a part of that team…#that could be me…#and it would look soooooooo good on my resume #like. not that i’m JUST applying for that reason but #it MUST be said…#i would have to put off paid fieldwork for another year - which is a risky career move #but i’m doing a BUNCH of volunteer stuff and i’d try to do more if possible #and i might be able to swing some more paid stuff with this job - who knows!#if i had that on my resume PLUS a couple seasons of fieldwork i could slide into refuge management sooooooooo easy #:)))))))))#i could probably have it by 35 at the latest if i put my mind to it��#and if i was making THAT much from 35 to 65 i could retire sooooooooo comfy!!!!!!#JUST FUCKING SAYING!!!!!!!!!!!!

#i dont think i got it #i had another call today too about a different job and the salary is too low for me to be commuting an hour and a half every day on the tra #n with #i have another call in an hour #for a different one #and applied to more places today #so ive applied to i think more than 200 jobs now in the past week and a half #i do have an interview for a different kind of role though in 2 weeks booked in #which is something #im so stressy besties #theres been so much noise today too my sensory overload is screamingg #i gotta be social after work too #and i just wanna lay in bed #but i cant #thank you to everyone that wished me luck #this silly little blog makes me feel so loved and cared for from the people on here #my friends and partner have also been super supportive and its the only thing keeping me from freaking out right now

oh my god okay I’ve been working since 7:30am but MN, SD, and JW are all submitted for internal review!!! NF is ready to submit as soon as he gets home from school and does a final readthrough!!!! DN has decided to waive review lol godspeed to that poor kid but it means less work for me today yippee!!!! and I also had time to give the baby a bath which is his new favorite activity (furiously focused water-kicking time!!!!). I think now I will take a break from student work and take all the residents of this household out for a brisk walk.

#I’m on a roll today so I might try to knock out EP’s five short essays too #maybe if the baby consents to nap once more (he’s been very obliging today)#I also just found out that one of my tutoring clients from another company wants to schedule 2x/wk sessions with me #for the foreseeable future #which is almost all the tutoring I’d need to do during the admissions offseason to make up my budget shortfall #tonight after the baby goes to bed I am going to sit down and calculate exactly how much $ I need to take six more weeks of leave #and then I will draft an email to let work know #thank you everyone for encouraging me to do it #even though I have to work a bit to make the unpaid leave work out #I still think it’s worth it to have the extra flexibility!!!#like I get to work in bursts while baby naps #and then hang out with him when he’s awake #and there’s no commute and no fixed hours

well. I signed the contract and put the deposit down for a flat and move next week!!

#ummed and ahhed for a little bit because I decided not to stay in the city I'm from and work in #because I just do not want to pay that rent honestly lol #so am staying in the city my dad lives in since staying with him gave me the chance to see how I'd feel about living here #and it's so much cheaper ridiculously so #the commute is fine and seeing friends will be just as easy #plus it's just kind of exciting to live somewhere new #we'll see how it goes!! thankful they offered a 6 month tenancy so if I hate it it's okay lol #maybe then I can live out my peak district fantasy 😌#but!! my own space!!#have never not shared a kitchen and have never actually had a sofa of my own so it feels very exciting
