it's fun explaining to other sikhs that my family has lived in malaysia since the 1870s so i think we missed a lot of the changes made to sikhi - including just the way sikhi is defined, understood, positioned, etc - by the singh sabha movement as well as changes to punjabi as a language and 'ethnicity' and similar things that have occurred since, if we understand that none of these things are static and rather elastic over time. i don't think we missed it entirely, my family has kept in contact with extended family in punjab and i know my grandparents spent a lot of time there and i know family who have taken pilgrimage to harmandir sahib but i've learned there are a lot of aspects of the way we do things that mainland sikhs find like... particularly antiquated or unrefined, including the dialect of punjabi spoken by my family which has been described to me as 'very rough and low class and old in a bad way' lmfao.

You two grew up together. Since your clans have lived next to each other peacefully sharing a vast forest for many years, that wasn't so unusual. You and Ash were friends when you were kids, but he was too shy and aloof for your teen tastes, and you slowly grew distant.

Today, for the first time, you were tasked of guarding the eastern part of the forest. The hunting season began just a few days ago.

"Ugh, you're so booooring," you complain. "Let's at least play a game."

"We're supposed to be watchful," he retorts.

"You know hunters never come this far so early. It will be a peaceful evening, I just know it. Come on, Ash, truth or dare?" The werewolf huffs and keeps walking in front of you. How dares he ignore you! You take your staff and smack his ass.

Ash jumps from shock and swings his strong arm, ready to strike. With a swift leap backward, you escape him, giggling. When he realizes it was only you teasing him, he growls. He is kinda cute when he's angry. "Don't do that! I could've..."

"What? You're too big and slow for me. Truth or dare, Ash? I'll slap your cute ass until you accept."

His werewolf ears fall behind and he awkwardly rubs the back of his head. With another huff, he continues walking. "Uhh... Truth?"

"Have you ever orally pleased someone?"

He trips and turns toward you in shock. "That's a really private question!"

"That's the game, pup, you know the rules." You loved calling him pup because he was three years younger than you and everyone knows werewolves mature slower than fox hybrids.

He scowls at you but answers, as quietly as he could: "Yes..."

"Oh you're a big man now! Good job, pup, I'm glad you know how to please your partners." He shakes his head and continues walking, faster than before. You run after him. "I choose dare!" You're sure he heard you, but he was quiet for quite a while before asking his question.

"I dare you to—" but he suddenly stops and sniffs the wind. He looks at you and and swallows hard. "D-do you know you're... you're about to..."

Why is he so uncomfortable all of a sudden? "Ash, speak up, I can't hear you!" you shout, impatiently dragging your fox tail across the ground. But the silly big pup in front of you continues being awkward. You can sense he is blushing, even though you can't see that on his canine face. "ASH!"

A rifle blast shuts you up, and a bullet flies dangerously near Ash's face. Hunters!

Instinct immediately kicks in and you start running. You are faster than Ash, but you would never leave him behind. Hunters are apparently too far away because they don't shoot again. Still, your heart is racing, fear and excitement electrifying your blood and also... also...

Oh no.

Your cycle. You're in heat! It's still early and you can focus on other things, but... You need to get to a safe place, quickly.

"Ash, I'm—"

"I know," he immediately replies, checking your surroundings. "There is a waterfall not far from here. The water will hide us and our tracks."

You change direction and very soon you hear the rushing in the bottom of a ravine. Of course, you and Ash have no problem getting down safely and you jump into the shallow stream. It is cold and fast, but walking upstream will confuse your pursuers. Also, you need to warn your clans as soon as possible. Yes, you need to focus on that. Only that. Not on how tall Ash is or how good he smells. Or how you always thought he was smart and sweet. And how you saw him swimming once. Or how you wanted to push your finger into his sheath and see what's inside. Or how... shit.

Your pussy started aching, itching, pulsating from need. You had to press it, rub it, stimulate it somehow or you'll go mad. You squeeze your thighs together, pushing your fist against your entrance, with a weak whimper - and you trip, almost dropping your staff. "Fuck, Ash. I can't hold it."

Ash stops but doesn't help you - he hasn't said a single word the entire time or looked at you. And he was constantly trying to walk upwind from you. "Do it quickly and we'll continue. I'll... keep watch."

That idiot pup. "Ash..." Your voice got a note of urgency. "Don't make me beg."

His ears perk up and he stares at you all big eyed, looking like a virgin doe-eyed buck. You roll your eyes, irritated. "Just my luck - I'm horny as a rabbit, and stuck between rifles and a cherry boy. Maybe rifles will give me..."

You are interrupted by a hand grabbing your throat. The other palm is on your ass squeezing it like a sponge. Ash is in your face, snout almost touching your nose. He is quietly growling, but you feel that tremble in your core.

"You chose dare, didn't you?" he asks you. His palm slides from your ass, follows the roundness of your hips and cups your mound. The tip of his finger immediately finds your aching clit. You gasp. "I dare you not to scream when you cum with my knot inside you."

Why do you think Daniil is associated with a snake? Like obviously the snakeskin coat but like snakes are often associated with being cunning and manipulative but Daniil is neither of those. i think it's partially the coat and partially just that the townsfolk are inherently distrustful of outsiders, likely especially big-city renowned academics like the bachelor. and i agree that he's not particularly either of those things, he wears his heart on his sleeve really, i do hope they keep him a shitty liar in pathologic 3

From Moga's seacoast to the Misty Peeks of Yukumo, there is a story that it's written. Not just about just fighting powerful Monsters or Elder Dragons such as Ceadeus, Amatsu or Alatreon.

It's about journeys and meeting and making bond with other peoples. Discovering new cultures and countries. About friendship and understanning. Of being amaze by the richess of Nature.

About how all lives, Humans as Monsters are connected a world full danger and beauty.

For some reason I had a sudden urge to make some Moga- Japanese 'modern girls' from the period after WW1- possibly because I've been looking at a lot of Kimono Hime scans recently, and definatley after seeing this photo! Here's a small collection of hairs with the style in mind. For cloche and curl, I made a second version with the bangs alpha edited out, which is included in the same zip. For the Lorna hat, I made a texture with a simple wrap style design. All the hats are in a variety of Aelia colours. The clip on AF003 is a tortoiseshell design (the original version was just plain black), but it's so small I don't know how noticeable it is, aha. Everything is in the original Afterglow naturals family only, packaged by family, with meshes included in the zips and everything compressorized.

Please accept my meager shitty art as we come back for part three of the "Moga fuses her hyperfixations together" saga! Aka: Slay the Knight AU!

Here's what I think Emilia and Subaru would look like, in true STP fashion I imagine both would never be referred to by name, instead being The Knight and The Frozen Bond (hah, get it?)

I made Emilia a little scary (and kinda Satella-esque), but that's mainly because from what we see in The Princess and The Dragon route, The Long Quiet is just actually fucking scary, so having Emilia be similarly intimidating would be fun.

Though I do think her personality would remain the same in this au, mainly because she's nice enough that she would naturally play mediator to the the voices, but malleable enough that she could just end up going with their whims when pushed enough.

Now for Subaru, I actually wanted to give him a definitive outfit that would kinda function like the Princess's dress, something that is a constant in every design but changed to fit the theme, the recognizable trait that showcases that no matter how fucked up these forms get they're still the same person

That's kinda why the little cape is there, it's supposed to be a significant design choice that can be warped with future forms

For the official lore, I like to think that it's still actually very similar:

The Frozen Bond, the manifestation/god of stasis, consistency, the chilling frozen in time allure of stagnation

While Subaru would be something like The Returning Cycle, the manifestation/god if constant change, perspective and identities splitting depending on choices, the constant cycle of time

Together they'd make the cycle of life and death, in a sense, and since Echidna in canon was trying to find a way to reach immortality, it is only fitting that she would split them apart and attempt to pit them against the other, as to goad Emilia into killing Subaru, this ending the concept of change, making it so that there is no means of which others can die.

But that's what I have for the moment, now, let's talk about some more ideas I have for the IF Barus

The Prisoner, my beloved

I rewatched someone playing her route and it dawned on me when The Shifting Mound described her as a vessel, but she's oddly a lot like Slothbaru

The idea of someone cautious to the point of stagnation, content to let the world pass her and remain in inaction, I mean, that's literally what Sloth is shown to be in the og series. That's also inherently what Slothbaru did when he took Rem's hand and ran away, leaving everyone else to die, but gaining a happy life for himself

Prisoner is like an Slothbaru that can't take Rem's hand, content to let the world pass him by for the sake of self preservation, but stuck in one place without the chance of running away, he can only wait and see because he's inherently passive, as he thinks he has no other choice

The Adversary, however, is the funniest one I think

Someone mentioned in the last post in the tags that Adversary is kinda Smolbaru coded, so I went back to read the arena fights in arc 7 and y'know what? They're correct, they're absolutely right, The Adversary is very much just Smolbaru

Which is funny, because The Adversary is supposed to be bigger and stronger than usual, though maybe it's either just that his personality is Smolbaru and his appearance is still intimidating, or we go all in and have Smolbaru just absolutely kick Emilia's ass with his bare hands in this one

Either way, I love it, also this is the route where Priscilla (Voice of the Proud) would show up, so having an Arc 7 Baru here would be a nice touch

Ok so I'm about to sound unhinged, but the Grey's

What if they were Natsumi.

Now, look, I have no evidence to back me up on this, I'm going off from pure vibes alone, but like what if

Honestly, it would be fun to have most of the Deadbarus be in some way or another Natsumi coded, though that would be fused with the Baru that lead to their routes in the first place (like Arc 1 Baru for the Burned Grey and Slothbaru for the Drowned Grey)

I mean, look at The Wraith and The Spectre

Imagine if the Spectre was more akin to Natsumi in her purest form, since the Spectre is actually surprisingly chill and nice about this whole thing, and then if you attempt to leave him there, you get the Wraith

A withered rotten version of Natsumi, falling apart at the seams and determined to hitch a ride and finally leave

In more confirmed Barus; Wrathbaru as The Witch and The Thorn, Greedbaru as Happily Ever After and Arc 1-2 Baru as The Damsel, The Nightmare would be Gluttonybaru and A Moment Of Clarity would still be Gluttonybaru but with more Louis/Rui elements

Again, I accept suggestions, and tell me if you want me to make more art for this AU, maybe I can draw more Barus and also the voices, who knows?

I just got my new restock bundle, and alongside matte versions of my Elden Ring and Ghibli stickers I also got a new design featuring the Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter!

I took the opportunity to test out Stickerninja's vaporwave printing, and mapped a shiny layer to mimic dappled water reflections across the scales, so I've got a limited stock of shiny prints alongside the matte print, I'm really proud of how they turned out and I'll definitely be playing with this more in the future. 4th Anniversary of The Eye on the Galaxy

Released four years ago on Christmas Day, this is the one fan fiction of which I’ve become rather proud. Not only does it transition nicely between Season 2 and the still-sitting-on-the-shelf-because-the-higher-ups-assumed-nobody-was-interested-in-more-episodes Season 3, but it gives many side characters a chance to shine, even those who haven’t spoken since Season 1. Of course, I’ve yet to know exactly who would be on the formerly secret planet and climb aboard the Star Nomad. That’s why I wish to share this information with Craig McCracken himself and gather anything that only he and the crew would know. In case you haven’t guessed by now, he has an account on Bluesky. As long as the fandom thrives, we’ll learn something new about WOY in the future. What could be more exciting?

Monster Hunter has had a long history of having a quirky girl sidekick that gives you quests. The earliest I remember it was the Moga Sweetheart in Tri, retroactively named Aisha years later. She had a whole storyline about being a city girl finding herself at home and settling in with the laid-back country folk of Moga and their rural lifestyle, to point that she's the arguing on the village's behalf for the Hunter Guild to lend support to fighting Caedeus instead of condemning the village and telling the residents to evacuate. It's all off screen, but she has stuff. The Guildmarm from the DS games and her raging monster lust is very well known and well liked as well, even as she seems to actively shoot the player down because she wants that Brachydios dick, not a human. I wouldn't be surprised to find out this was also true in the first game and Freedom Unite, but I don't remember, and in the games I didn't play like Generations or Does.

So it's not all together surprising that Capcom leaned into this angle a bit more heavily with the Handler in World. She's your Quirky Girl Sidekick that gives you quests, but there was a very harsh reaction to her, unprecedented in hostility compared to previous Quest Girls.

It could be that World itself was a polarizing game, and she became the face it, so it was dislike by association. It could also be that Monster Hunter gained a lot of mainstream Western popularity with World, having been primarily a Japan exclusive franchise with only occasional English localizations on handheld, so there was a new vocal demographic being introduced to the franchise. Personally I blame the English localization shortening "partner" into "Pard", that is not a flattering nickname.

The real reason though, I think it was just how ubiquitous the Handler was. World had more cutscenes than any Monster Hunter game before it, and the Handler was in just about all of them, oftentimes getting in trouble and needing to be saved. Her portrait would pop up mid quest to give unsolicited hints, some of which weren't entirely helpful. She would be at every camp, emoting at you when you entered or fainted. Every previous Quest Girl was a static figure that you saw when starting a quest to wish you well, and that was about it, but Handler was everywhere. She had so much screentime, constantly. It's not hard to understand that some people would get tired of her, likely the same ones that couldn't stand Navi in Ocarina of Time.

Rise was a step back from this with Hinoa and Minoto once again just hanging in the village to give you quests, but also appearing in cutsces and being central to the story, and I don't think I need to elaborate on how loved the two of them are. Sunbreak then expanded on this with Fiorayne, who rather than being a quest girl, was an active participant in hunts, establishing her as a peer rather than a sidekick, as well as giving Hinoa and Minoto the ability to fight alongside you, which only made them more popular.

And now Wilds gives us Alma, who is ever present in the same way the Handler is. She isn't just everywhere, she actively follows you around the map, visible on the periphery as you fight, commenting on your surroundings, and so on. Hell she tries to decide your weapon for you in the tutorial. So far people seem to like her from what I've seen, but once the full game is out I'll be curious to see what people think, if she fares better than Handler, and if so, what's the determining factor.

Might be a bit of a random one but as a non-binary (but basically male presenting) person married to a Japanese woman we've decided to both wear womens' iro-Uchikake and Shiromuku for our wedding photos. I'm not super interested in "passing" as I just wanna look like me — but wondered if you'd seen any womens' wasou-appropriate gender neutral wedding hairstyles in your travels? It's such a specific thing and I'm not having much luck.

Tbh, you are not going to have much luck finding any formal wear kimono "neutral" hairstyle. The thing being that traditionally, Japanese hairstyles were SUPER gendered: they could tell age, sex, marital status, sometimes even where you'd come from etc.

The only exception I can think of are children hairstyles, which for long were basically unisex until coming of age ceremonies - but those would not be suitable for a wedding imo ^^;

Agender hairstyle is so definitely not a thing if you're searching for "classical kimono look" appropriate hairdo. Yet, that does not mean you cannot choose any style you like and run away with it!

Most wedding-looks now have brides in modern (=Westernized) fancy hairdo. If you see a "traditional" style (=taka shimada), it will 9 times out of 10 be a wig provided by the kimono rental. Very few undergo the tedious process of having their natural hair styled this way (and less and less hairstylists actually know how to do that):

So, what fancy style would YOU love?

Without knowing you or your hair lenght it's difficult for me to help, but my first thought was a variation of moga's 耳隠しmimikakushi (hairdo covering the ears, often with finger waves). As moga's chose not to follow traditions + as mimikakushi can work on long and shorter hair alike, this "historical" style could work for you?

Also, you might wanna look into any modern kimono stylist/photographer. For example, see Stasia Matsumoto's social accounts, as she's both a kimono and hair stylist.

Congrats again, and TLDR => don't fret too much over "traditional hairstyle": in nowadays bridal kimono world, that doesn't mean much anyway ;)

Today, I realized that I have always been happy for others happiness, for whatever they celebrated though I am only a stranger or the bystander.

I found myself smiling feeling happy for their happiness , making du’a and then I remember telling Allah how I am content with whatever I have now Alhamdulillah, but soon it’ll be my turn too right , Ya Allah?

I would say my main theme song for me and Patrick is After Dark by Mr. Kitty because when I first found Pat, that song was used everywhere in edits for him, and the 80s-sounding etherealness just added to it. Every time I hear that song, I go right back to watching those edits of him and watching his movie all over again. The lyrics of just being so in love with someone... I always envision the two of us running through Central Park or Times Square or Madison Square Garden together at night, especially in the snow, while that song plays 😭

There are a few others with Patrick: Heaven (also by Mr. Kitty, the sweet gut wrenching lyrics of that one 🥹), Chamber of Reflection by Mac DeMarco (for the loneliness me and Patrick share together), Brian is the Most Beautiful by Memo Boy (just the vibe of that one radiates something between me and Pat), F Song by Strawberry Guy (basically makes me feel like Patrick is free from Evelyn and I'm free from any past feelings about my irl ex and we're running through Central Park in the summer sun with lots of strawberry themes ♥️), Stargazing with Patrick Bateman by Lostboycrow (that one popped up randomly on Spotify one day and I honestly think maybe Pat was trying to tell me something...definitely makes me think about those moments in our relationship he's needy and misses me or longs for me), What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy) by Information Society (which was used in the movie in one of the club scenes, just makes me think about Patrick's thoughts upon first seeing me and finding such curiosity about me and wanting to talk to me), and Trouble by Daniel Ash (another song from the movie, they used it in the end credits, makes me think about Patrick and I feeling like the last "true" humans in the world and how our kind of "trouble" is each other). There are a *lot* of 80s love songs me and him also share (In Too Deep by Genesis, yet another song from the movie, Always On My Mind by Pet Shop Boys, I Just Died in Your Arms by Cutting Crew)... I'm probably forgetting a few, lol. But those are the main ones that come to my mind! 😅

As for the Polite Leader, I would say our main theme song is Total Paranoia by Serj Tankian. There's a fairly popular edit over on YouTube of the first Purge movie, and they used that song, so it's hard not to associate it with him. I feel it expresses his playfulness, watchful eyes, possessiveness, and neediness in our relationship. There's also Claire de Lune (it's one of my favorite classical pieces. They used it in the intro of the movie), and he loves that one too. He loves playing it on piano for me, and we love waltzing to it. One *very* good theme song for us is I Know I'm A Wolf by Discovery of an Afterlife (thanks to @sleepytime-moga for finding that one for us 😘). It's a cover of a different version of a song I can't remember who by off the top of my head, but I feel the Polite Leader is very wolf like (in his behavior and the fact he heads a pack of people on Purge night), and the song is from a wolf to a *rabbit* (aka a bunny 😉) telling her how he's been searching for her all night and that he knows he can be scary, but he wants to love her and protect her from the scary world. There's also Who Is She? By I Monster (basically makes me think of him falling in love with me upon first seeing me on Purge night) and Kiss From A Rose by Seal (I discovered that one shortly after finding him and now we associate it with each other).

One theme song I share between both Patrick and Polite is the sped up version of I'm Yours by Isabel LaRosa (thanks to @makeyoumine69 sending me that one). Because it's true: they're mine and I'm theirs 😭😘♥️
