Okay having now seen Jurassic Park in full I can say:

a.) Everybody telling me not to bring back the dinosaurs because they're dangerous is full of shit, all these animals are attacking people because they are VASTLY underfed and understimulated. The entire movie was the animals toying with them bc they were bored and likely hungry, not because carnivores just...do that. The entire animal care team and handling was a goddamn disaster. C-

b.) The geneticists were fucking stupid, who the FUCK would patch AMPHIBIAN DNA into REPTILES, they're as distantly related to them as amphibians are to us!! Use bird DNA!! Or DNA from other reptiles! Fuck!!!

c.) On the same note, whoever thought to use all female dinosaurs was huffing paint thinners bc fucking. DAMN IT. PARTHINOGENISIS IS A THING IN REPTILES. YOU DONT EVEN NEED FANCY AMPHIBIAN DNA FOR THAT I AM RATTLING THEIR GENETICISTS BY THE SCRUFF OF THE NECK WITH MY TEETH ARE YOU ALL FUCKING IDIOTS

d.) The lysine contingency plan wouldn't have worked as a useful failsafe because it would have taken too long for the animals to run out of lysine to halt their metabolisms- the killswitch idea is excellent tho and is a legit tactic used for transgenic organisms so A+ for them implimenting that there. I don't exactly have an alternative method either bc I'm not good with metabolism, I just know that depriving them of lysine would likely be bullshit

e.) All the kill scenes were waaay too censored and way less people died than I thought :( major salt to my dad for not letting me watching this as a kid because it would be 'too scary' or 'make me violent' bc this shit was a letdown for how tame it was. Still a good movie but very much not a horror movie

f.) This is an outstanding movie about the hubris of man but I see now why people would think that the moral of the story is 'playing god and bringing back dinosaurs bad' when its really 'billionares are fucking idiots and should trust a wide variety of scientists'. Hammond chose a bunch of fucking idiots to help run his park and trying to monetize living creatures is never a good thing. This is why peer review exists!! This is why its important!!!

g.) this film reminded me that i will never see a living non-avian dinosaur irl and i am sad :(

did you want to know my opinions on the most commonly available "large" (around 30x20 inch) freestanding flight cages? no! but here they are

(note - i have not owned basically any of these. this is based only on appearances so far; in general the average reviews for all of these are the same so make of that what you will)

if you google search "flight cage" or "large flight cage" or similar you will get a lot of options like these

they are perfectly functional, more affordable, and slightly more spacious IF your bird will use the bottom portion. the first one appears to be the cage i have, i dont remember exactly because it was around 10 years ago. but theyre all more or less the same thing: the most basic construction, no extra frame for the door, no designated food and water dish spots. possibly not sturdy or secure enough for a larger or escape artist bird but certainly great for budgies or finches or other very small birds. there are many other variants of these.

the next kind you will see a lot of is basically the same shape as the above, but with a sturdier frame and single (or double) framed door(s) with lock. there are many many similar to this and i assume theyre great besides still not having convenient access to food cups (if you care about this). here's this one

then there are the playtop and dometop cages from a&e (x, x, x, x) and prevue (x, x, x). both companies have one of each and they have some differences. as seen in my links, you can also find the identical cage under other "brands." all of them have designated feed doors and removable seed guards (lol) as well as overall what appears to be very sturdy construction, so would be better for slightly larger or more escape oriented individuals.

a thing i dislike about ALL these is that they dont have a shelf/dont even have space for one in the case of the prevue cages. the a&e cages i dislike that the door is so tall and narrow, especially on the playtop version which has nowhere to attach perches above or below the door. and the prevue cages have 3/4ths inch bar spacing (unlike half inch or 5/8ths like most of these) which limits how small of a bird you can put in them. these are also generally very pricy just to look nice, which they do, but not enough to make up for their potential shortcomings in my opinion.

my final two options are also from a&e! the one i was considering for the longest and almost bought is the "charlonda" from wayfair (i found this cage on the a&e website but not for sale under the a&e name from anywhere i trusted). the other is the elegant top flight cage (a name sometimes shared with the first one i mentioned), which is much more widely available as an a&e cage, including from chewy.com and also wayfair.

what i like about the "charlonda" is what appears to me to be better designed food cup doors than the rest of these and all horizontal bars (which is rare to see and better for any bird with reduced mobility). i like both of these for looking stylish but still having a flat top that you can set things on and not being overly complicated. i think i have decided to go with the second one because i am changing my mind about wanting the horizontal bars at the last minute, and think it looks a bit less cluttered for having the food doors positioned differently. A NOTE about this one: the "decorative gaps" around the doors are 3/4ths of an inch (so it says) even though the rest of the bar spacing is half inch. so this one wont work for smaller birds. the "charlonda" doesnt have these gaps.

Alright alright im done crying now and since i did a book review of the symposium im doing a book review of alcibiades so buckle up . Yes , i am aware no one cares about this , but its fine . First i gotta say this is marginally worse than the simposium but in a woerd way . Its still good , dont get me wrong , but i like the symposium better . I dont know if its just because i like long peices of text , which the simposium had but this one lacks , or because its simply lacking in content . The messeges are alright , nothing shocking so far , very aproachable , very understandable very easy . You can tell its written with a goal to educate people of all intelligence . Its an easy book thats what im saying . Now

Right off the bat , this is very different from the simposium . We are getting explicit proof that alcibiades and socrates are in a romantic relationship. First i thought that the book was imidietly worse that the for stating it so obviously, because i quite liked the ambiguity in the simposium, but then i undertood that the two books , despite being difrent , complement eachother perfectly and present a natural chain of events.

First off all in the simposium it is made clear that alcibiades got rejected because he had nothing to give to socrates besides hollow beuty and socrates had nothing to give to alcibiades, since the knowlage he belived he had wasnt real ( one thing i know i know nothing and so on so forth ) . Now we are getting a more in-depth explanation as to how they ended up together despite that little talk . Basically from what i gather since socrates doesnt like being a teacher because he doesnt know shit he used the maieutice ( or however the fuck its spelled ) because he belives that to gain knowledge one must first undertand that they are lacking it and second ask themselves questions to try to get it . He didnt think he could give knowlage to alcibiades then because he didnt think alcibiades desired to learn . He couldn't make him a good man , but he could later help him grow and learn so he could make himself a good man , all of those things needed alcibiades willing to put the work in , and not relay on socrates to just snap his fingers and turn him good , like he expected in the simposium .

Now the word for word translation is a little different. That little " ωγαθέ " litterally translates to " good " , but since both men use it generously and plenty throught the dialogue, i can only assume it was a common pet name of the time . Its worth noting that calling people good ( καλε μου , καλη μου ) is also a pet name in todays greece , or maybe 50 years ago greece , that ive deeply assosiated with posh , high class very polite ladies and gentlemen. I dont know why but ive only heard it used in that uper society politeness, and when i first read alcibiades saying it it fit like a glove

Socrates also tends to pamper alcibiades with compliments all throught the text , and making a lot of attemts at flattery , which i think serve the purpose both to showcase that socrates is an admirer of beauty, to show that goodness and virtue are to be praised , but also because he is being so unbelivably annoying that without those little compliments to keep him on his good side , alcibiades would have puched him in the face . He calls him brave ( also tranlated as virtius ) beutiful , smart , beutiful again , like a bunch , and overall slaps a pet name next to his name any time he mentions him

( trans : no , by our mutual friend zeus , who protects both me and you , in whose name i would take a fake vow . If you have such teacher , say it )

Now zeus is mentioned a lot in this text . Thats not entirely true . Zeus is mention a lot by alcibiades in this text . In the instance socrates talks of him , he uses an epithet and not his actuall name , praises him , and very clearly states the importance and nessecity of the vow . He is being very cerful and very poilite. Alcibiades just short of does whatever . He contantly says by zeus , for no aparent reason , and as an awnser to anything and everything , just casually sprinkles it i converastion. Now im not sure if this is blashemy , or if im just entirely mistaken , but its really highlighting the fact that alcibiades doesnt cae and never has cared much about being proper to the gods. It reminded me of that one line from the simposium, where alcibiades vowed something to possidon for abseloutely no reason and socrates hot mad at him in a very casual way , in the way he would scold a ten year old for having candy before dinner . He knew alcibiades saw blasphemy as a part time sport , he was used to it and he didn't bother yelling at him much , since the act was bound to repeat its self regardles . Similarly here , alcibiades very casually and normally takes gods name in vain , for no serious reason , and socrates is too used to it to react .

And finaly , the wholy grail

Socrates asks alcibiades if , later in the week during his political speach , when he adresses the people of athens , he will talk to them about matter that are moraly right and wrong . To me , this is the most crutial part of the dialoge , this is the backbone of the wntire consept and the translation does not do this justice . He asks if he will speak of right or wrong , and alcibiades replies " ανάγκη " . " i must " i have too " or more litterally " out off need "

Now at first i was confused when i read alccibiades , out off all the people in the world , talking about wanting to be morally good . Alcibiades has always been a cunt . He is a genuengly horrid human being . And then i thought about it a bit and realised that when he is speaking to the people , he really is not. Reading a single speach of his that thucides has written and tgen comparing the image he portrays with his biography makes my point obvious . He uses morality to get what he wants constanly. In sparta , whils convincing the king to provide his shelter he didnt go the petty route , even if he could have . He didnt go the " i hate them and want revenge " route . He could have pulled it off . But he didnt attempt . No , instead he made himself apear virtius , apear good , saying he is just trying to regain his home , painting himself as a wronged man who is trying to undo his enemies wrongdoings . He used moral superiority to convince constantly and then turns around and fucks someones wife , because in privet he has abseloutely no need for morals .

Need is such a strong word . If you dont get what ypu need you will die , the fact that the author chose that in particular is inane to me . This is the part when it bacame obvious that alcibiades doesnt care about goodness , but cares a whole lot about greatness . He doesnt care about morality , but he would do anything to be gonsidered a great leader and get power . Socrates made sure he understood that to be great you first need to be good , but in turn , alcibiades understood that goodness is a tool for him to use to get what he trully wanted , a means to an end , not a final goal. He cannot reach true power without being good , and so he is forced into a road of virtue that doesnt fit him . He is a camilion in this instance , like plutarch called him in his biography , he puts on a virtus persona so he can gain influence and get things his way , even when later admiting to his true nature , to the fact that sometimes to him moral acts are not desirable , he frazes it strangely , never completely addmiting to it ,saying its improper to share such thoughts . He is the pinical of diplomacy, he used morality as a sield and as a front , as is visible in his later life in which he convices people to act on whats right and then privetly acts like a complete degenerate .

Now do i think that in some part he actually desired morality just for the sake of it ? Yes lf course , but its very obvious from the way he was raised that socrates failed to convince him to desire it for himself , not just for his work as a politian

He liked : - Daisy and Karen. *Autors note : Especially Karen , he adored her.

- Warren laidback attitude.

- The book cover and Its cover writing font.

- The book writing font.

- The abortion story cause he found It original and brave to write about.

- Daisy takes no shit from Billy "as she should". Thats It!!! *AN : "I just read this shit because I LOVE you and your Mom, kid XD"

What He didn't like *AN : Its long but worth reading"

- The interview format present all the time It was too much, and sometimes boring to read.

-Also he found It lacked of complex vocabulary, too simple.

- The songs are "shitty poetry I can't imagine how they would sound. Don't look like real songs."

- He dislikes romantic books, especially those aimed at Young Adults " Why dont teens read good shit like Orson Scot Card, J.R. - He found the book unrealistic and too obviously "written by a woman for other women as a rock and roll 70's fantasy" :

2-  Camila and Daisy's final conversation.  "It isn't realistic and IS obviously a book scene. She should've dumped Billy. No woman speaks that calmly to her husband's lover".

3 - "Billy and Daisy's affair IS just not real"... I asked why and he told me that: 

 "Most men wouldnt even consider as wrong (or even as an affair) a non physical relationship"

All of his friends would see It like that...

I can't really say that i have the best grades and everything during my time in highschool but i did find a way to balance both studying and socialising so you can have fun in highschool!!

No im not saying that you should be building anything silly! What i meant was that you should do everything yourself during your study sessions. From notes and researching past questions, do it yourself. Sometimes its easier for me to store certain information when im handling them firsthand and help me review better last minute because i know where everything is written, where every information was explained because i spend so much time doing it rather than read the premade notes online📝

🌟 Make it fun!!

The first thing you're gonna understand is that studying is stressful af, like no shit. But just because it is doesn't mean we can make it fun-stressful right? Things like silly acronym, modified lyric of a catchy songs and even hilarious characteristics of your friend can help you along the way! Lets say what if i want to remember the metal reactivity series. That thing is looonggg af to remember and a hassle to so why not change it into silly mmemonic?

🌟 Letting go ≠ failing

Fool around, watch movies, play games, anything honestly! Letting loose doesn't equals to a bad result. If done in moderation can actually help you have a better time in studying. You can't cram 50++ in your brain and expect it to understand all of it without giving it time to rest. Treat yourself once in a while! Sometimes even just a cup of hot chocolate after an hour of doing essay would do the trick☕✨

(p/s: letting loose is NOT the same as procrastinating!!! Remember guys, rest in moderation 😭)

🌟 Eat healthy, think pretty

You know how they say that your gut is connected to your brain right? (Do they really say that???) . There's a day where you've got no appetite but still need to eat and so you just eat random snack you found in the fridge? Yeah, stop that. Like literally hun. Before you go all " you cant expect us to eat a balanced neal everyday😡😡". Baby girlies, we can eat those mouth watering, feet curling treats for alllll i careeee. But we need to learn on when to avoid them. With all the class rivalry going on you must be tempted to follow the class rythm, especially if its fast paced because you'll feel like you left out right? Here's the thing babe, every people have their own learning techniques and that means each have their own understanding pace. Some people store information quickly and others not so much. And honestly that's fine! Its not about who finishes the syllabus first but its about who understands them better. How do you expect to score your written exam if you barely understand the topic you're working with? So my advice is that you take a deep breath and find the study techniques that fit you the most and apply to everyday use. Once you realise it you probably has finished the whole topic without you know it!

Syb reviews Addendum: Some thoughts on the July 21 match outcomes

I usually do my review posts spoiler free and quick and snappy, but I had some Thoughts on the kayfabe and metakayfabe for the July 21 matches, so I figured I’d dump them in a separate post here. More unfiltered, some bitching, and of course, match outcomes spoiled lol.

July 21 was an interesting card (selection) for me because I loved every match I watch, but I disagreed with all the outcomes, for varying reasons and degrees of fairness. My opinion is Just Some Mark, of course, but hey, here it goes.

Ren Narita vs. Gabriel Kidd had Kidd win after a low blow. So some classic bullet club shit. You could tell from the way the crowd deadpanned that they did not like that, and to be honest, neither did I. Narita put in a killer match and looked super strong up there. That said, I get why they did it, even if I don’t like it. Kidd is part of the super scary Bullet Club War Dogs, and he’s technically Narita’s senior. So even though Narita is more over and tbh a better wrestler (though Kidd is no slouch!), in order to sell that angle I get that Kidd had to go over. I’m the least miffed by this. But I wanted it for my boy.

Will Ospreay vs. KENTA I could tell by the tone of the match and the way Kenta was getting a lead in the start was going to go to Ospreay. It was a thrill to see Big Match Kenta but a shame because in addition to disliking Ospreay for shoot reasons, I am in the camp of “he wrestles kinda boring, even though the slick jumpy moves are slick”. This one is difficult to separate from my love of Kenta and my intense dislike of Ospreay, however I really do think it would have been an interesting direction for Kenta’s character development to have big match Kenta beat hotshot IWGP US Champ Will Ospreay. That said, I get that he’s a chill mean midcarder right now. So this is my most personal “I DIDN’T LIKE THAT AND I DONT CARE THAT I’M BEING UNFAIR TO THE ANGLE. I WANTED MY SPECIAL BOY TO WIN” moment lol.

Shota Umino vs Kaito Kiyomiya had a perfect outcome. 5000000/10 no notes.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Taichi look, I love Okada. He’s one of my top guys. Hands down he did not need that win right now and it irks me that despite the match Taichi put out they decided Okada needed to go over. It would have been infinitely special to have Taichi get his ass!!! Why!!! real “okada wins lol” moment.

Sanada vs. Yota Tsuji This one I am being so so unfair about and i love sana-yan and yes he deserves this so much. however. I am completely ass over teakettle on tsuji and he should get away with everything ever mwah mwah. I loved this match and yeah the outcome was right but in my heart of hearts I was hoping for a cheeky Tsuji steal. That said, he did STEAL the HOMETOWN cheers over Sanada, sooooo <3

finished riverstar's home which is uhh the first super edition i actually finished since graystripe's vow?? i wanna say??

anway! final review: not enough death!!!

(actual, long review under the cut)

riverstar's home is Good. granted i had no expectations for it and kind of forgot it was a thing until it came out. but for a super edition that most people were like "huh? riverstar? really?" it really knocked it out of the park

and i just really think that the erins had a theme in mind (finding home and what that means to our guy riverstar) and the text actually supports that. and i know, most books do this and it is something we all had to learn in high school english. however, warriors has a thing where the messaging is telling us one thing but the actual text is saying something completely different (think of like... everything to do with bramblestar)

that being said, i liked reading about a young riverstar (yes, my character tag for him is river ripple and i prefer that but y'know riverstar is shorter) and his struggle to find a place in the forest territory. it's actually a really good coming of age story that really resonates with anyone who has like moved out of their hometown and has felt incredibly isolated because of that (like me!)

also as a dotc Enjoyer i really liked seeing the events from riverstar's perspective. unlike uhh the last two super editions where the new viewpoint didn't add anything (or it retconned something to make it worse!) or added in things that were just kinda... bad (still dont like brushpaw), riverstar was just enough of an enigma that it worked. like from gray wing's pov, riverstar is an Established Cat on the river and he plays it well. but in actuality he's just a lonely guy trying desperately to maintain his friendships while trying to carve out some space for himself. it's interesting and fun and even the one eye and slash bits that i didn't care for in dotc were fun to read about from his pov

unfortunately, this is dotc so the last half Drags. like it makes sense, obviously, after riverstar feels settled into his life and home and new role as leader, someone from his past comes back and makes him question all of it. love it, really. the problem is once they leave and make it a journey! idk what it is but the minute these cats start wandering off territory it turns into a snoozefest. tell me one book where a journey to some place was Fun to Read and you cant say TNP cuz we both know it wasnt

also, im so sorry, i know we love women here and we have to cuz the erins don't but i dont like finch. like the most she shows up to help with fighting slash's rogues and riverstar was like "she was feisty!" or whatever i knew it was So Over. im sick of this thing where they introduce a she-cat just for the purpose of giving our main male lead kits. it was bad with gray wing and slate and it's bad with finch. remember when she almost stayed behind? i was hoping so hard that it would stick

and like compare finch and riverstar to say night and riverstar (im not pitting two bad bitches against each other give me a sec). before riverstar leaves to go back to help the park cats, night is nervous, her and riverstar have been through a lot together and they lean on each other. so she's vulnerable with him and he's like "oh im sorry i dont think of you that way??" and she's like "no!!! you idiot!! as a Friend" and yeah it made sense cuz we've seen them grow together in real time. finch got None of that because she is not meant to be a character and it bugs me

however, clear sky came in to save the day and cause problems on purpose at the end so the book ended on a high note (for me)

and uhh yeah, this is already pretty long and i actually have More Shit to say cuz i genuinely did like this book a lot i just wanted to get my thoughts out while they were still rattling around in my brain

god i didnt even talk about how i wanted more cats to die

I M BACK I finished. that honestly took me a little longer than i had hoped/was expecting but then again i was going back and forth between safari to send asks and my notes app to keep track of who i thought was the killer like oyd all over again, and all i can really deduct from both experiences is that i would be an absolute shit detective and the world is so lucky i'm majoring in psych instead of crim! aside from that, it's time for my *cracks knuckles* review, so spoiler warning!

the ending is so silly (in a good way of course) and had he not been a literal mass murderer, i would have said that was something he would 100% do. aside from that, i find it really satisfying...? how well your fics flow and i think wanna play a game? really emphasized how good you are at that because its just ?!2?: i dont even know like the fic moves like water that's the only way i can think of describing the smoothness in between the "camera" transitions, if you know what i mean. the description of and between every movement was also really nice to see for me because usually when i catch myself doing it, it feels like i'm just adding unnecessary and boring details but i think this made me realize just how important they are to make a story feel natural and almost realistic in a way? i definitely don't think mine read as nicely though, BUT ANYWAYS. this isn't about me 😭

another thing i liked was the whole bolded italics to show when he was using the voice modulator and when he was speaking normally because as mentioned before in my oyd review, i can't stand certain things in writing and bolded italics to differentiate actions from dialogue is one of them. i don't know how or why this is becoming a recurring thing where you manage to do things i Don't like in a way that suddenly makes me like them a lot but i feel like that should be some sort of an accomplishment because i'm just so picky and you write everything perfectly 💔

i honestly thought, based on the header, that all three of them were the killers and they were actually a trio instead of a duo and to see that presumably it was just one person, was such a sick twist because i was, again, going back and forth between tumblr and my notes to figure who was where and doing what just so i could end up being completely wrong??!/? everything i thought i knew was a lie. the only thing i managed to get right was potentially taehyun injuring himself on purpose to trick everyone into thinking he was innocent when he really wasn't. i'm really interested in the sequence of events as to how the murders took place and correct me if i'm wrong but: beomgyu fell asleep so taehyun snuck away to go and take out wooyoung and ryujin in the other room by sneaking out of the house and breaking back in through the window which mc thinks is wooyoung de-escalating the situation and ryujin being upset but it's just them struggling and the settling down is when they die... and since taehyun can't just walk back into the house like normally, he goes back out the window and cuts himself on the broken glass? and maybe i'm looking too deep into this but, does beomgyu know? was there a reason why he said mc would be safer with soobin than with him and taehyun and why they end up being the only ones separated from the group? (also why does no one check to see if someone was actually coming?!1?) i kind of have no clue where yeonjun getting threatened happens throughout all this, assuming he's been in on it when he says he's just trying to keep mc safe while beomgyu's being (fake...?) dragged away (still have no clue where exactly he plays a part in the plan or if he plays one at all) and taehyun somehow manages to sneak into the basement and finish off soobin and yeji (fun fact: i totally misread and understood the first read through because i assumed yeji and soobin were a thing or doing Something, so i had to reread and question where the hell i got that from before getting on track again). the part where yeonjun says "think about it," had me on my toes because i thought he was going to admit to doing That to soobin and yeji but after looking back i realized that just. wasn't possible? 😭😭

the smut was so crazy, especially the build up to it like the whole straddling and trying to feel them was an insane idea but i kinda loved every second of it until it popped into my head there was an easy chance mc was straddling dead bodies, which thankfully, she wasn't, otherwise i would have been just as horrified towards the end as i was initially, and suddenly nothing was strangely intimate or appealing about this. it was kind of relieving when it's mentioned taehyun was warm and again, towards the end when it's stated that beomjun were breathing because while taehyun was fucking mc, i was kind of curious about what the hell was going on in the chairs and even more so when he wouldn't let her look at them? taehyun was exceptionally evil i feel, with his false sob story and confession which could have easily been another lie. speaking of the sob story, seeing how hyuka was killed by his friend group and by an "overdose", does that mean yeji was going to end up like him before taehyun came into the picture...? or am i just overthinking again lol

as always, though, i really enjoyed reading this and i'm so curious about every detail that didn't make the cut <3 – ml

the way you literally have me twirling my hair and giggling rn… also that detective comment made me laugh so hard 😭 detective ml needs to retire I’m afraid (joking of course I enjoy seeing ur little findings that were surprisingly accurate)

-it makes me laugh because I also thought the ending was a bit jarring and… ridiculous tbh, but it just shows how fucking unhinged that man is and I giggled a bit while writing it 

(Writing style and transitions)

-this is such a compliment actually omg?? I’ve actually come to realize that this is a strength of mine after many peer reviews on my papers mentioned that, so to hear this again is actually really interesting! I honestly think it’s super important to add details to create an immersive ambience for the reader, but at the same time unnecessary details are literally the worst, and often bore me and make my head hurt. (Like, no one wants to hear about the model and wood of a damn dresser in excruciating detail.) so I find that it’s also really important to keep a balance! 

(the voice modulator and using boldled italics)

-I was actually a bit hesitant to add it in, because there’s certain things in dialogue that I find a bit unappealing, personally. But I knew that there had to be something that could distinguish when it was being used so that the reveal could work properly and click immediately with the reader 🚬 I’m glad it worked properly though and it’s even funnier that I keep managing to change your mind about such things haha

(deciding who to make the killer)

-it honestly was a thought to make it all three! I considered all the possibilities; Taehyun definitely was the killer in all of them, but I thought of it being tae and gyu, (but then I got flashbacks to take it and decided against it), then tae and jun, and even all three; but in the end I decided against it only because idk… it seemed so fitting to make tae the mastermind behind everything. 

[onto the timeline!]

(Ml anon is scarily accurate)

-beomgyu falls asleep, taehyun sneaks out through the back and goes through the window to take out wooyoung and ryujin; the sounds of the “drunken fit” is actually the struggle from the murder. (Unnecessary detail, but Tae went for Ryujin first; that’s why her cut is so clean while wooyoung got the multiple messy stab wounds— the sounds of the furniture was wooyoung and Taehyun fighting)

-Taehyun goes back to the porch and stabs himself with the knife; all to cause a scene and establish himself as a victim, not a suspect. And since Beomgyu and tae are friends, he knows that bg would be too worried to question anything.

(Does Beomgyu know?)

-no he does not!

(Why did BG insist on the mc going with Soobin?)

-It was actually Beomgyu making sure that Soobin would be safe! He felt as though it was wrong to leave someone alone, bc of course, there’s strength in numbers. He hesitated to switch with mc bc the thought of the “killer” still being nearby (which he was) made him worried that mc wouldn’t be able to protect herself and Taehyun. In the end he simply gave in bc mc was being stubborn and it wouldn’t help to argue about it. 

(Why were TaeGyu the only ones that got separated?)

-The reason why they’re the only ones separated is because Taehyun needed to get rid of someone else quickly before he got outnumbered in a closed space; he knew that the mc would put themself at risk in order to protect bg, and the last thing he needed was them to get hurt. (Also, he needed bg to use him as leverage for the mc— I’ll elaborate more in another ask haha)

(why did everyone just blindly believe Tae about someone coming…)

-I love this little question because ya, that was a big mistake. Had anyone actually checked, they would’ve been confused and would’ve just said “bro is bleeding out fr” or smth. (And Taehyun would’ve played the part and acted weak and weary haha) But since the tensions are high, they’re all much too scared to think straight; Taehyun knows this and uses mass hysteria to scare them off, knowing that they’d believe him because he’s a victim too! (also, he’s the only one who’s “seen” the killer, so that gives him credibility if he were to panic)

(when does Yeonjun get threatened again…?)

-See this is this part is a bit of a stretch but it’s alright because it’s fiction haha… we all know our poor mc is horrible with directions, and when I say the house is huge I mean it’s huge. (Like mansion that has empty dusty unused rooms huge) Taehyun had to make sure to be quick with everything— knocking Beomgyu out, dragging him out of plain sight and onto the porch, and sneaking past the mc through another bedroom window. From there, he only had to find Yeonjun to get him to go back after her— Yeonjun’s feelings for her were real (although superficial at most) so at first he really was trying to get her to safety. Unfortunately, he’s very selfish so the moment the mc injured him and ran was the moment he thought “fuck this, let her do what she wants.” 

-The threats had a bit more details than said; meaning, “stall for a bit while I finish the rest, and knock her out and bring her to me.” Yeonjun really thought he’d be spared if he got on Taehyun’s good side and did all his bidding, even if that meant betraying his own friends. 

-After threatening Yj, he went to the basement— that’s where he cornered Soobin and Yeji, aiming for Soobin first because he knew Yeji wouldn’t be able to defend herself; it’s gruesome, but he left Soobin to bleed out and Yeji to watch as he shattered her ankles. 

-Also!! Another thing that I didn’t write, but Taehyun was actually in the basement the whole time! He was just hiding while he made sure Yeonjun didn’t turn on him, and after he knocked the mc out, Taehyun pretended to be grateful to get yj’s guard down; after that, he knocked him out. 

(the buildup and reveal)

-it honestly was such a bizarre idea to have the mc do that, and I… still don’t know why I did it? (Or how I thought of it.) I think it was just a weak ploy by Tae to get the mc scared and close to him; also, to gain her trust since she didn’t know he was behind it all yet.

(What’s up with the chairs? Why won’t he let her look at them?)

-Quite honestly, nothing special— they were just beginning to stir, and Taehyun was nothing more than possessive because even while they were sharing such an “intimate” (intimate used loosely) moment, he was angry to see that she was still worrying about them. He knew of yj’s feelings towards the mc and was never really fond of how close bg was to her. 

-Here are a few things I decided to omit or simply changed my mind on: first, the mc wasn’t going to be blindfolded; she would be tied up to a chair with bg and yj, and yj would’ve woken up and made a fuss as to why he was there. “We had a deal, you fucking lied to me!” He would have been killed after by Taehyun, making this the original reveal where he actually had a scream mask on. The other idea was killing bg and yj while the mc had been blindfolded, (post killer reveal) forcing her to listen to the sounds of them being stabbed and dying, etc etc until her spirit became completely crushed. I decided against both ideas simply because I just wanted to tone things down a little teehee 

(Huening’s OD and Yeji’s fate)

-You are not overthinking at all!! I’m so glad you picked up on this, because yes! That’s pretty much why Ryujin had been so freaked out and why everyone else had taken a serious attempt to de-escalate things, because they’ve all been through it before! The whole thing with Huening was an accident— they introduced him to drugs he couldn’t handle, being irresponsible and letting him take more than he should’ve as they all laughed and poked fun of him for being so inexperienced and a wimp; when he started acting strange, no one really took it seriously, thinking that he would eventually get over it. But he didn’t, and their death was on their hands as they attempted to make it look like it was his own fault and decision, choosing to try and put it all in the past as they pretended like nothing happened. Eventually, Yeji would’ve had a pretty close call herself if she continued the way she was. 

But that’s pretty much it, and I’m really impressed with how accurate some of your findings were! (Maybe detective ml isn’t a complete lost cause) it was so much fun to read all your thoughts and reactions, thank you sooooo much for taking your time to write such an amazing review!!

soo. review on the son of neptune?

I’ve been thinking about this ask ever since I got it and like. I don’t think I really have a review? like I’ll be honest. there were a Lot of times when I realized I had been zoned out (Very invested in candy crush) for like five minutes and instead of going back and relistening to it I just moved on and figured it probably wasn’t important. which it wasn’t because I think I followed the book just fine. I liked it well enough but that just may be my seattle goggles. they literally rode orion across the puget sound like !!! my main thought is that the book generally just lacked emotion I guess. like there isn’t anything you could do to make me give a fuck about frank and hazel. aside from the whole. um. 13 and 16 thing it’s like I don’t CARE you know. and the whole ordeal with percy getting his memory back was something I was anticipating for the whole book and when we finally got to that point it was so like. okay. I think what made it fall so flat was that we never really got to Feel percy’s eight month or whatever absence because the lost hero followed characters who didn’t even know him. and from percy’s perspective it should have been Huge to him that he had missed such a large chunk of his life but he was like. okay not Super casual about it but MY percy would have been losing his shit trying to get back to all his pals and shitting his pants excited when that ship or whatever started to land. his little reunion with tyson was also so :/ and I’m a tyson GIRL. as for characters I think ovtavian is really silly and I hope he continues to stay somewhat relevant. frank is so boring to me sorry I dont care he’s a little silly but boring and the fucker is constantly throwing himself a pity party like dude shut UP. also. I shan’t say it again you already know. reyna seems cool but we don’t know much about her yet and I know we will but I’m excited for that. ella the harpy slayed idc every time she showed back up I cheered that’s not a joke. HAZEL horse girl of the century I love her sm. I’m still at the stage with her where I’m just rotating her around in my head give me a couple business days. hazel related thought but how are sammy and leo the same person. like they didn’t even say he looked really similar they said he was the same person. like is this important at all. like who cares? was it done for shock value? are identical twins involved? all I know is that my friend leo “bust a lugnut” valdez certainly didn’t grow up in the 1930s and 40s. overall this book was fine but they literally visited seattle and nico seems like he may actually become plot relevant soon. aside from raising hazel from the dead. one final note I lied when I said I followed the book fine I have quite literally no clue how camp jupiter operates every time they talked about some sort of hierarchal or structural thing in relation to the camp I was like fucking what are you talking about. actually I lied THIS is the final note. there are WAY too many goddamn characters to follow like rick I’m sorry but if you introduce a single new character or monster or villain or whatever I won’t be able to handle it. I’m sure if I was a greek mythology girlie I would be having a much better time with this but I’m not so I don’t know what the fuck any of the monsters are and I have to google image search them every time.

-the sheer slyness of that tyre puncture, the way he was so proud of himself like the cat who knocked over the cup of water

-the way he preens when bheem compliments (*cough* worships *cough*) him

-the way my guy roars in the interval fight scene (which yes, was dominated by bheem, is bheem's, bheem owns it. If it wasn't about Malli, bheem would have won. But that's the thing about their relationship! They challenge each other perfectly at each others levels with their different strengths and opposite personalities, while understanding each other's depth and temperament in a way no one else can)

Okay so I'm kind of young, right?

I grew up listening to "Mai Agar kahoon," and I've watched Om Shaanti Om but I don't remember it at all. It came out when I was 4.

I don't know why I haven't re watched the movie ever.

But I just had a talk with mom and apparently Mai Agar Kahoon is a romance song????

I always thought it was a double meaning manipulation song disguised as a romance song and the story must be that the guy is in some way betraying/lying to/manipulating the girl he is singing this to. But nope, mom says it's just a romance song.

But listen to the way its sung!

"Taareef ye bhi to, sach hai, kuch bhi nahi" (Even all praise for you, it's true, is not enough/is nothing)

But the way its sung, it sounds like

"Taareef ye bhi to, sach hai kuch bhi nahi" (even with all this praise for you, nothing from what I'm saying is true)

And then the general vibe and the beginning melody of the song has always sounded more intense, tense and ominous to me than romantic

Anyone? Am I being weird or do you see it?

I have thought it was a manipulative song since I was a kid, help???

Review One

One of Us is Lying by Karen M McManus

as always i would like to note that this review contains spoilers for One of Us is Lying by Karen M McManus. if you do not want the book spoiled, do not read this! at all! i will begin spoiling shit immediately <3

first of all, i should begin by noting that i bought this book knowing the entire plot line from start to finish. i already knew who the alleged “killer” was, knew everyone’s secrets, and still went ahead and purchased this book. and i definitely dont regret it at all. the start of the book keeps you intrigued because they get to the point quick. simon has his accident(?), the drama starts a bit, and then you find out that he dies, and you’re left wondering why. i think the book did a great job of keeping interest high. it’s definitely hard to say if i would feel this way at all if i didn’t quite literally have the whole book explained to me, perhaps maybe i was always interested because i already knew what would happen next, but i think the slight-yet-not-too-long drawing-out of the secrets and how they all handle them differently, especially with the fact that cooper’s real secret wasn’t revealed to us for a while, and the public/his family for even longer. i think that one of my main criticisms comes into okay here, though, because between cooper denying his use of steroids and the planted phones at the beginning, it was, on occasion, hard to determine what was true and what was not. at the beginning, when bronwyn mentions that the phone in her bag wasn’t her, simon says something along the lines of “you too?” at first i took this as simon mocking bronwyn, like he thought her excuse was dumb. and with the steroids, i don’t remember cooper explicitly stating to the reader that he wasn’t taking steroids until a bit later. i’m mildly disappointed that nate and bronwyn didn’t end up together at the end until a bit farther into the epilogue, as i was honestly routing for them. i do, however, understand that it’s probably a decently realistic scenario, as they led such different lives, but i did want them to work out. bronwyn had a nice little “i can change him” mentality that i honestly really wanted to be true. then, in the epilogue, they don’t even have their shit fixed, and they’re some weird on-and-off long-distance couple. which, again, slight bonus points for realism, buttttt i did not want said realism in this situation :) plus, this is combatted by the unrealistic nature of the fact that no one looked into simon himself and how fucking ODD it was that all four students claim to have a phone planted in their bag, and they all ended up in detention with simon the day he was going to write shit about them. you’re telling me that no one IRL would look into that? eli and his big brain really came through with that one. i found it really heartwarming that kris was the one to solve the whole problem, essentially the first time that cooper is OUT out with him, in more ways than one. i liked that little touch.

i think that that’s all i’ve got for this review. i could make a whole separate post on the show, please don’t watch it, you’re going to hate addy and everything just moves too quick. granted, only watched the first episode, but i was immediately not… not at all into it.

overall, i really enjoyed this book. was satisfied with the delivery, had minimal complaints, and was sort of dying to read the book whenever i had a free moment, and even when i didn’t. i will say, though, it was a book that i could put down, and when i did put it down it was down for a little bit before i picked it back up again. but i think that everyone’s development was done very well and the suspense factor was not drawn out too much nor was too quick. very good book, sort of looking forward to reading the next one, though probably not for the writing style, but the plot itself. very much enjoyed

anyways. hob having sex w dream in the dreaming while lying in bed with his current girlfriend in the waking. shes hearin him moanin abt dream, which is weird but whatever wet dreams be wet dreams. shell wake him up for another round or just let it be cos shes wiped out this isnt about that tho

hob maybe still doesnt know/understand that dream Dream is real Dream while Dream thinks theyre in a fully understood relationship (theyve been doing this for awhile now, after meeting back up in the waking after his imprisonment)(hes still Very Bad at openly explaining things to his mortal lovers), hob just also has relationships in waking since theyre Casual TM (dreams a little afraid of commitment rn) (and Dream can’t physically fuck Be With a mortal in the waking)

Edit: no actually this is a bout weird somno and hob being just totally wrecked by the dueling sensations of his girlfriend in the waking trying to wake him up by feeling him up to go for another round, and Dream using all hos might actually a considerably small amount of his might (but yknow, emotionally all of his might) to keep hob fucking him in the dreaming. the weird relationship status is a secondary concern
