this past extra life day (11/2/24) I had the pleasure of being a part of an incredible fan tribute project in the style of The Discovery Channel boom de yada song to honor Harlan and Jo Guthrie ( @malevolentcast ) and the incredible community that they've built and that i get to be a part of!!

@redundare organized the project over a month in advance and we all worked so hard on this vid so Harlan could air it during his & Jo’s 24 hour extra life stream

we set out with the goals of:

Make Jo cry (SUCCESS)

Send a bunch of donations while the video was airing so we could push for a huge amount of donos and collectively bump up the total donations by several THOUSAND total dollars (SUCCESS)

Being ace, I'm used to not seeing myself represented in media with the wonderful exception of audio dramas/podcasts as it seems to be the one media ace characters thrive. Not only do I finally see myself but seeing different aspects of being ace covered under shows still amazes me

Seeing Jonathan Sims being in a loving relationship with another man (and also had a gf preshow) in The Magnus Archives

Listening to Prof Troughton talk about not feeling pride not having been with anyone so he dove into his career in Shadows At The Door

For Walter Pensive to not fully understand what being asexual means but figures that's what he is after Riot tells him the term in Hello From The Hallowoods

Rudyard Funn just being like of course isn't everyone because to him it makes perfect sense in Wooden Overcoats (even if he doesn't know the term asexual as confirmed by DKB)

For Red, who even fathered a child, to always be like, hey that's awesome you like stuff like that, just not for me in Dice Shame

Zolf TELLING Wilde he is his reason and Ben and Alex stating Z/W are queer platonic partners in a relationship and that though it's never said by the characters in the campaign, they love each other.

I know this isn't all ace characters in podcasts but these are the ones that radiate with me. Ace-spec is an umbrella and it's wonderful to see many different versions

hitoya’s participating in a free lawyer consultation service in ikebukuro which is where everyone winds up gathering lol. doppo is considering reporting his company for worker’s rights violations LOL, dice owes money and wants to hide next to hitoya lmao, rio was just training in the area, and rei came over for no other reason than to be a bother LOL

rei invites all of them to a hot springs getaway he just purchased and that’s when saburo shows up, complains that they’re wastes of human life for making so much noise in public being grown ass adults and is promptly kidnapped to go on the hot springs trip with them LOL

saburo threatens legal action for kidnapping a minor and hitoya says he can easily handle a lawsuit against him like that and hitoya pls 😭😭😭😭

after some very perilously off road driving on rio’s part lol, they arrive at their destination, and said destination has a lot of board games since the previous owner played them as a hobby. they wind up breaking off into pairs to play games, saburo with dice played backgammon (saburo lost lol), rei and hitoya on chinese checkers (rei lost lol), and doppo and rio went off to play ping pong

3️⃣🎲⚖️0️⃣ were having a chill time until a very loud sound came from the ping pong room and it turns out rio served the ball a little too hard and it indented into the wall, and poor doppo was cowering and crying in fear LOL. hitoya told him to GET UP lmao just imagine it's his boss and that works like a charm; doppo serves so hard rio couldn't even react, giving doppo his win 😌

There's a lot of really nice things about being on Dice Shame, but one of the biggest is the absolutely wonderful community that it has. And with community comes FAN ART, which is something that just endlessly brings me joy. You spend a lot of time just sitting there thinking about your character and their appearance and everything about them, but there's something so cool and wild about seeing how others interpret them. This is also why I don't really have a lot of "hard canon" thoughts about the appearance of the characters I play, like there's so much room to change them up. Is Mairi in a dress? Is her hair long and smooth or a giant tangle of kelp? Can she run in heels or would she eat shit immediately? This is a post of some of the absolutely phenomenal art that's been made by fans of the show, I feel so incredibly lucky to have helped at least a little to inspire it. Thank you all <3

In one post you mention that you needed to make designs for wrath and gluttony (if I read it correctly I think they’re supposed to be parts of the assassins) and I was wondering who are the other deadly sins? (If the answer doesn’t contain spoilers that is, if it does then ig I’ll ask who’s your favorite assassin to draw so this ask isn’t mostly useless)

so there are 7 deadly sins in total, all ranked from least to most formidable/powerful/prolific/etc -

you'll notice that dice demonné hasn't been mentioned yet until this point! he's not a spoiler unlike the last two assassins (who are between designs, i've even been considering rebooting their concepts entirely or swapping around their ranking). he's one of the more lighthearted assassins so his sin is expressed pretty literally through a casino, where he's the high roller who makes and wins crazy bets and puts people into bankruptcy!

but, by day, he acts as a priest for the church, who has the same people he cheated the night before come to him confessing their sins and asking for forgiveness. he basically says "pay a tithe and god will forgive you" - when they can't pay any longer, he has them killed. usually it's enemies of the organisation who get put in this trap. (or sometimes in the middle of a game, he'll get pissed and have people killed regardless. witnesses are just given hush money.)

he has a cane to defend himself, but doesn't really fight on his own - he has his two sidekicks to fight for him, just like how needles has pins. (ignore how i forgot to draw kimberly's gun.....) they're nuns by day and casino girls at night!

(and my fav assassin to draw is probably vivica, though i have fun with all of them equally!)
