I didn’t mention it in the drawings but the cloaca is self lubricating with gentle stimulation and fingering, and the hole (without hemipenes in the way) is placed similarly to a vaginal entrance. My goal here was basically to create the most yonic phallus the world has ever seen
The slit of his cocks also is rather long and thin in comparison to a urethra, so the pre-cum (which is the same lubricant as in the cloaca) can more evenly distribute itself. I think his semen is also rather thin during ejaculation, but quickly gels and sticks to wherever it has ended up. Has some interesting implications for how the Female of his one-man species would function
Much like snakes his testes are internal and connected to the hemipenes, and all situated within the cloaca. So spreading his cocks apart from each other would probably stretch him open like fingering would. I imagine he also has a prostate or a similar internal erogenous zone since his genitals are so accepting of penetration. Almost like they were designed with that in mind…
Anyways I’m not very well-versed in biology (more of a math girlie) but luckily the intention isn’t to have 0 logical fuck ups i literally just designed the hottest and most attractive genitals i possibly could for my special little snake-man
#voldemort#fucked around with a 2 heads per cock thing but this is what I ended up settling on :-))#not based on any species of snake in particular#nor am I delusional enough to believe that this is in any way realistic#very much thinking with my dick here#drawing with my penis#if you will#lol#also excuse my bad handwriting it’s so hard to be legible on my iPad#my writing is much nicer on actual paper

FFXIV Write #24 - Bar
FFXIV Write 2024 Master Post
Prompt #24 - Bar
Note: Based the snake idea on the Barred Grass Snake and the Common Adder, which are two of the three species of snakes found in Great Britain.
Briar hummed his soft little thrill as he examined each squash. Finding the ripe ones, he used a small knife to cut the vine, setting the chosen gourd into a nearby basket. His ears flicked, looking up to give Covva and Liokki a brief smile. The younger Viera was helping to collect the autumn harvest with Liokki keeping a curious watch. While the larger, older Viera was happy to lift heavy things, Liokki was far more a hunter than a farmer. It was probably better not to trust him to know a ripe vegetable from one that wasn't.
A sudden hissing from the thickest part of the vine made Briar gasp and jerk back instinctively, tensing. The namesake viper of the Twin Adders wasn't uncommon in the Black Shroud, although normally rare this late in the season. Covva dropped his basket, grabbing a knife at his hip. He paused with a frown when Briar lifted a hand, tilting his head.
Moving a few of the leaves carefully, Briar leaned his head to get a look at the snake. He was confident he was far enough away and it helped adders weren't overly venomous. Not that he wanted to get a nasty bite, but they were rarely fatal unless one was very small or older. Still, best to avoid that as he carefully eased the vine back. This prompted more hissing as the dark, sinuous form of a serpent came into view.
The half-Elezen studied the snake a long moment and gave a huff of relief, soothingly gesturing at Covva and Liokki. Both Viera had been tense, ready to jerk Briar away from the snake if needed. Liokki gave an irritated grunt and moved closer, circling around with long ears twitching. He squatted on his heels and narrowed his amber eyes at the snake.
"Oh," he said dismissively. "Just a grass snake."
Briar nodded, tilting his head at the snake. It had quieted now, but it was a pretty thing in his eyes. The scales were a deep grey-green, barred along the sides with black. A pale colour circled the snake's neck and more bars along the jaw. It tilted its head a bit to regard him, tongue flicking. Briar reached out slowly, running his fingers along the scales before picking the snake up. It attempted to slither away for a minute before quieting in his hands, a cool heavy weight in his fingers.
The snake was plump and well-fed, but the season was getting colder. They often burrowed to hibernate and Briar assumed it was probably drawn to the warmer soil of his garden. He felt a little bad for moving it, but if left there, it was entirely likely his dog, Jack was going to find it. Or even worse, one of the roosters. It wouldn't be the first time the Black Knights had eaten a snake…
Briar's ears perked up as he suddenly smiled, carrying the snake. Behind him, Covva and Liokki looked at each other with a small shrug. Watching around his cottage, Briar made his way to the woodpile set against the wall. Behind it, the stove was near the wall, no doubt offering some additional warmth. Kneeling, he opened his hand and let the snake slide free. Sleek and quick, the snake darted forward, disappearing under the wood pile.
"You're letting a snake stay?" Covva said with a small laugh.
Briar nodded, hands moving in quick, graceful motions. He pointed to the woodpile and then down near the stream, making a particular gesture with a laugh.
"They eat frogs, huh?" Covva chuckled, watching another moment. "And sleep in the winter… Well, I guess your legless friend can't cause any harm."
Briar nodded and gestured toward his mouth, making a motion of fangs and shaking his head.
"True, grass snakes aren't venomous," Liokki agreed with a rumble. "No harm then."
Dismissing the snake, Liokki turned back to the garden, his mind back on his appointed task of grabbing the large baskets of various squash, pumpkins, and other fall-ripe vegetables. He heaved one onto his shoulder, bringing it around toward the front of the cottage. Covva chuckled and shrugged, heading back to the garden as well.
Briar lingered a moment, smiling at the woodpile before rising to dust his hands off. He wished a soundless little blessing to the snake that it might find a safe place to sleep and he'd see it again in spring. The half-Elezen could only hope so.
Until then though, he had his garden to worry about so that he too would hopefully reach the spring hale and hearty.

How long was Mikey trapped in the EPF facility? And how fast acting were the mutations? It kinda sounds like the scientists put him through several rounds of injections over a period of time.
Are there multiple facilities? Did Mikey get moved to a different location or stay in the one he was captured at?
Mikey’s bros had to be losing their minds looking for him, or planning a foolproof strategy to break in and rescue him from the place they knew he disappeared.
Love the double mutated Mikey updates but GIRL! SLEEP!
So Mikey was trapped in the EPF building for one week, if I remember right. Maybe less... The mutations began the very night as he was captured. They were near instantaneous changes in his body, but they were spaced out. So one day he would get injections for a specific species, the next day he got a different species, etc. But the mutation operations mostly ended on day four or five.
In addition to the species mutations, they also added their own formulas and mixtures to try and enhance certain aspects of the species, such as a reptile's brumation and infrared vision, super hearing, how he can weaponize his tails and create exoskeleton armor or quills with his scales, the ability to make his bones be triple-jointed and flexible as a snake or rigid and immovable as iron, etc. I'm pretty sure that they reverse-engineered Draxum's ooze from a mosquito sample and used that on him as well as Krang DNA. Mikey has a lot of abilities now, some are obvious, others have yet to reveal themselves... I'm really excited to share one in particular.
There are probably a bunch of EPF hidden bases, but Mikey stayed at one lab, the one he broke into. He was in one of three rooms for the entire time he was there -- either the open labs where he was in a cage, the operating room where he was mutated, or what I'm calling "the Interaction room", which was an empty room with some strange devices and security cameras where the doctors could watch him "interact" with some of the vicious mutations they created. The purpose of the room was to see if any of the experiments could be trained or controlled, and see their new abilities in action. The machines in the room were weapons and mechanical training simulators, they would fire at Mikey and shoot darts and pellets and stuff at him to see his agility and strength and problem-solving skills. Sometimes drones or robotic arms would be placed in the room as well. (This is why Mikey often inspects the machines in the lair to see if they are "evil".) All the other experiments he met were incredibly savage and prone to insanity, so Mikey was forced to fight them to stay alive. Basically it was an evil scientist's version of a gladiator arena.
Mikey's bros would have probably gone in the very night he was captured, but knew that they needed a plan. Donnie spent the week researching, Leo spent it making strategies and contingency plans, Raph spent it stress-training and crying, April and Cass and CJ spent it scouting the place out.

I know that judging if a snake is a viper by its head is dangerous (like if the head is in a triangular shape that's a viper, if it's more oval that's a grass snake) bc it doesn't work (I can't remember which species but they're vipers with oval head and vis versa)
But I remember reading somewhere that counting how many scales there are between the eyes and the mouth (like if only one scale it's not venomous, if it's more it's venomous).
I just want to know if that's true or not, or if it's a relatively reliable way to identify a venomous or a non-venomous snake
There are too many exceptions, and it's too hard for a layperson to accurately pull off.
Snake scale patterns and terminology is stuff that takes years to really learn, and it can get complex. You can learn the patterns:
But unless you really know what you're doing, applying those patterns to different snake families can get very confusing and lead to lots of mistakes. The positioning of loreal scales (the ones between the eyes and nostril, between the preocular and postnasal scales) in particular can get very confusing, and those are the scales that tricks to identify hot snakes based on head scales rely on. Simply counting scales isn't gonna cut it because unless you know what you're doing it's too hard to pick out which scales you're even looking for.
Pretty much any rule that relies on identifying if a snake is venomous or not based on anything on their heads is always going to be hit-or-miss, simply because vipers and elapids are both venomous and have drastically different head shapes!

If Alastor had bird traits, what would bird species would they be?
Ooh, this is a good question. Very much in the spirit of random anons. (This is a compliment, I promise.)
My first thought was that it’d have to be something intelligent, something capable of mimicking human speech. Alastor’s voice is very important to him, so I think if he had traits from an animal in a class where some are extremely good at mimicking human speech and some aren’t, he’d be one of the talking ones.
That narrows it down to mostly parrots and corvids, but I’m willing to throw in Australian Magpies (not corvids, despite the name) because they’re such menaces, and I think swooping season is a fun parallel to the fanon idea of Alastor going through rut.
I like the idea that rut isn’t necessarily sexual for Alastor, that he just gets extra combattive and irritable. It’d be similar for swooping. He wouldn’t be protecting offspring or a mate, he’d just get extra territorial about his radio tower for no apparent reason, snatching up any demons who get too close.
Now, back to corvids and parrots.
For parrots, I narrowed it down to two species based on intelligence and speech, as well as the additional criteria of having some red on them, somewhere. This leaves us with African Grey Parrots (red tail feathers) and Scarlet Macaws (mostly red).
But deer aren’t exactly red, so I don’t think that should exclude our next contestants, the American Crow, the Fish Crow and the Chihuahuan Raven.
One of my favorite things about Alastor being a deer is that the particular species I believe him to be (a White Tailed Deer) is native to Louisiana. Now, you’re not exactly going to find Australian Magpies, African Greys, or Scarlet Macaws flying around in Louisiana unless somebody’s pet got loose.
Meanwhile, American Crows, Fish Crows (the two species of crows most often observed mimicking human speech) and Chihuahuan Ravens are all birds that Alastor would’ve been fairly likely to encounter during his lifetime.
And then, after all that research, I remembered the existence of the shrike…
The Loggerhead Shrike fits none of my original criteria, but is native to Louisiana and is famous for hunting prey that is sometimes as large or larger than they are and impaling them on sticks.
You see this bird?
This bird is a serial killer.
Ok, so that’s anthropomorphizing a bird that’s really just hunting to eat, like most carnivores do, but like. If you know this bird, you know I’m not wrong.
They’re nicknamed the butcherbird, and they’ve fucking earned it.
Bonus points for two of their common prey items being spiders and snakes, for all your RadioDust, RadioApple, and RadioSnake needs, platonic or otherwise.
I have some choice sections from their wikipedia page that I’d like to include, but I’m putting them below the cut in case anyone’s squeamish about details of animal death in a predator-prey context.
Loggerhead shrikes have been repeatedly observed killing prey larger than themselves by spearing the neck or head of the animal and twisting. The speed at which this occurs causes a whiplash injury to the animal. The neck strength of the shrikes compensates, making their talon weakness inconsequential.
Although loggerhead shrikes are passerines, they are a predatory species that hunt during the day. They primarily eat insects, but also consume arachnids, reptiles, amphibians, rodents, bats and small birds. They have even eaten venomous snakes such as the water adder. The size of prey ranges from 0.001 g (3.5×10−5 oz) insects to 25 g (0.88 oz) mice or reptiles.
They are not true birds of prey, as they lack the large, strong talons used to catch and kill prey. Instead, they are sit-and-wait hunters that stalk prey by hawking and diving from elevated perches.
Due to the shrike's small size in proportion to the size of its prey, it must rely on specialized adaptations to facilitate its hunting. The powerful, hooked beak of the loggerhead shrike allows it to sever the neck of a small vertebrate. Larger prey are subjected to impaling, in which they are pushed down into a sharp projection, such as a thorn or barbed wire. The bird can then tear off flesh by using the projection as an anchor. The shrike may also use the thorn to fasten and store its food to return to at a later time.
The motion of impalement appears to be instinctive, as parent shrikes do not demonstrate the behavior to their nestlings.
Yeah, I think we have a winner here, folks.

Agathion, Ophinal
"Snek" © Cindy Avelino, accessed at her ArtStation here
[The name "agathion" for Pathfinder's NG outsiders is derived from "agatho daemon", or the "fortunate spirits" of classical Greece. The agathodaemon, sometimes named Tycho, was popular in Ptolemaic Egypt, particularly in Alexandria. Which is why, for a venomous snake-based agathion, I feel comfortable slotting it into Africa for the World Tour project. For more information about snake veneration in the Greek world, Drakon by Daniel Ogden is an excellent book, and was the inspiration for this entry.]
Agathion, Ophidinal
CR 4 NG Outsider
This creature appears as a snake with a human torso and arms. Its scales are colorful, and its expression beatific.
An ophidinal is an agathion devoted to healing above all other arts. They serve heavenly forces and mortal temples alike as doctors, able to patch injuries, treat longer term ailments and expel most mundane and some magical afflictions with magic. Although their aspect resembles that of venomous snakes, they are actually anti-venomous; a creature bitten by an ophidinal has the toxins purged from its body, and any natural poisons it secretes temporarily suppressed.
Ophidinals dislike combat, and rarely choose to fight. They can defend themselves with teeth and claws if they must, but would prefer to heal than to harm. They are usually mobile on the battlefield, casting a sanctuary spell on themselves and then moving between allies to grant them support. In addition to healing, their touch can bring with it good fortune. An ophidinal will happily lay down its life to protect goodly allies.
Unlike many agathions, which eschew civilization for wilder spaces, ophidinals are comfortable in buildings and cities. There are many hazards that urban populations have to deal with—hunger, disease, crime—and ophidinals work to minimize these impacts on common folk. An ophidinal is especially good at dealing with pests. Insects and rodents are often eaten as snacks, and venomous serpents are bitten to suppress their venom and then encouraged to take up residence elsewhere. Ophidinals are suitable for calling with lesser planar ally to act as a source of healing, and their prices for such services are typically taken in healing items magical and mundane, or simply blankets and digestible food to make the lives of the sick more comfortable.
An ophidinal is about eight feet long, but come up to about four foot high when posed upright. Some have hoods, eyelash scales, colored stripes, or other markers of particular species of venomous snake, sometimes mixed and matched in ways unseen in nature.

A creature with a poison special attack that is bitten must succeed a DC 14 Will save or lose the ability to use its poison for one day per HD of the ophidinal (5 days for the average specimen). The save DC is Charisma based.
Bit of Luck (Su) An ophidinal can touch a willing creature as a standard action, giving it a bit of luck. For the next round, any time the target rolls a d20, he may roll twice and take the more favorable result. An ophidinal can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + its Wisdom modifier (6/day for a typical specimen).
Healing Ritual (Ex) By increasing the casting time for any of its spell-like abilities with the healing subschool to one minute, an ophidinal can grant itself a +4 bonus to its caster level for the purposes of the spell’s effect.

What is the kyraam lore 😯😯😯 now you have me interested
Sadly I don't have it written up in much detail. The most jotted down is on my (very unfinished) Neocities page. Which goes something like:
Kyraam graduated from high school isolated and burnt out. While she's been struggling to find her footing, she moves in with Vivian, a pink-haired mountain lion who she had previously hooked up with. Escaping from familial pressures immediately into living with a roommate, Kyraam is desperate for independence, but her chronic fatigue gets in the way. The path forward is unclear, but every day, it makes the choice to try her best anyway.
I suppose like me, she used to do well in lower grades but found herself unable to function in the real world particularly well.
Those two kind of have a pretty unhealthy relationship because Kyraam is very dependent on her for rent and struggles to keep up with her part-time job at the local university as a janitor.
I'm sure any story I'd write about her would, in a good timeline, end in her moving out from Vivian and finding a more emotionally healthy friendship with Tracy, an arcade technician she met while blowing money she should've contributed to the household budget on arcade games.
The lore more serves to function as framing for whatever daydreams I'm in the mood for, whether that be cathartic or happy or uncertain.
ooooooooo but I can get more into species lore.
Kyraam is a Fallenaire Pseudo-dragon. This is a particular subtype of psuedo-dragon, or non-reptilian "animal" with defining dragon characteristics like wings, horns, and a tail (in quotes because anthropomorphic). Her species in particular is characterized by feathery wings that can be shape-shifted into a more chibi form for daily convenience, markings on the cheeks of varying shapes, and magic blood.
The magic blood is especially wacky. Here is a list of associated baggage:
Fallenaires' entire body is based on raw magic coursing through their veins, unlike most other species.
Their food is digested through their stomachs into raw magical energy. This renders them immune to most poison and psychoactive substances (which was important as Fallenaires historically survived off of poisonous animals and plants that most other species could not eat).
This conversion process practically means that they also do not have effects from the majority of medication without special modification. They generally have worse access to healthcare than other species.
Fallenaire blood has different blood types: RGB. I thought this would be funny. But yeah, for a Fallenaire to have a blood transfusion, the color (representing magical essence) has to be close enough in color to the recipient. Light and Void-blooded Fallenaires typically have the least leniency in what they can receive.
Fallenaire blood glows and sparkles, resembling slime more than blood in some ways. As a result, blushing causes glowing, primarily seen on cheek spots and other areas where blood rushes and fur is thin.
Probably more that I forgot off the top of my head.
She even used to have eye-color changing with emotions, but I eventually scrapped that because it was a pain in the ass to remember and draw. Plus, didn't really fit with the muddied, unclear emotions she feels and the very otherwise hard to understand way her body language expresses them.
Finally, one extra quirk is body language disconnects from other mammalian species. Unlike with dogs, tail wagging for a Fallenaire is much like a snake's: a nervous/defensive response. This gets misconstrued a lot (I added this detail because I'm kind of used to having my facial expressions misconstrued when I don't wear a face mask). I'll probably add more outlier/unusual body language tendencies as I think of them.
#zab.txt#long answer yet again you know how it is with me#overly rambling dragon moment#Kyraam's a dragon in a similar sense to a Dutch Angel Dragon#but I consider her mammalian enough to make a distinction from so-called 'True Dragons' that are more reptilian

Wolfen & Warlocks
A few days ago I rolled up some versions of Cliff and Sierra for a tabletop roleplaying game of my own creation, and it was very fun! Definitely going to play around with that some more in future.
For now, though, I thought I'd lay out a little more about the Sarantian Races, and reiterate my offer to put together/draw other muses in this little fantasy world - more under the cut:
What is Sarant? A high fantasy world I've been devising for nearly fifteen years now, with one self-published book on the market and several more in the works. It is a place inhabited by the various Amkyn races, whose primitive ancestors emerged from the earliest fonts of primal magic, and also the Arriv, an allied collection of peoples descended from refugees that arrived from other worlds entirely.
The Arriv Elf, dwarf, human, orc, and goblin are outliers in this wild land, using their 'celestial' magics to skirt the natural order of things and praying to a pantheon of gods called the Immosi.
Elves have long since made themselves at home in the Grand Forest and along the shores of its Long Lake. They are classified as Middling-Tall, receive a +2 Attunement bonus, and originally created the trasformative magic called Alchemy
Dwarves dwell in the extensive cavern system beneath the towering Wide Mounts and their many foothills. They are classified as Middling-Short, receive a +2 Strength bonus, and originally created the crafting magic called Sorcery
Humans spread throughout much of the Southern Fields and can be found in communities of all sizes along the river lines. They are classified as Middling, receive a +2 Intuition bonus, and originally created the manipulation magic called Wizardry
Orcs live in either the Eastern Woodlands or Grey Crags depending on their philosophical ideologies, the meckle and the kunal. They are classified as Large, receive a +2 Fortitude bonus, and originally created the health-based Sacrificial magic.
Goblins founded a new home in the extensive and bountiful Marhok Marshlands of the southwest. They are classified as Small, receive a +2 Agility bonus, and originally created the space-folding Astral magic.
The Amkyn Of all the many non-sapient animal species to cover the vast array of environments in the world, only twenty have given rise to more advanced Amkyn peoples, capable of craftship, culture, and civilization. Some of these races are older and more powerful than others, but each answer to their representative god upon the Primari Council.
Wolfen (wolves) Large, Natural Ability: Guardian Boon
Felisapi (cats) Middling-Tall, NA: Claw Slash
Kitsune (foxes) Middling-Short, NA: Deep Bite
Ritikai (rats) Small, NA: Tail Smack
Minotaurs (cattle) Large, NA: Hoof Stomp
Centaurs (horses) Large-Long, NA: Rearing Kick
Burar (badgers) Middling, NA: Explosive Growl
Fauns (sheep) Small, NA: Headbutt
Satyrs (goats) Middling-Short, NA: Horn Slam
Dryads (deer) Middling-Long, NA: Bounding Leap
Harpies (birds of prey) Middling-Tall, NA: Sudden Shriek
Fairies (winged insects) Tiny, NA: Airborne
Quirren (squirrels) Middling, NA: Inherent Spite
Dispai (spiders) Tiny-Long, NA: Sticky Feet
Torardim (turtles) Middling, NA: Extra Armor
Borfen (bears) Large, NA: Paw Swipe
Naga (snakes) Tiny, NA: Tripping Hazard
Obongi (frogs) Small, NA: Spring Step
Susataurs (pigs) Large, NA: Bonecrunch
Anonians (dragonkin) Variety of Sizes and Natural Abilities, depending on the particular court: the Tiny bright green Forests with a Paralytic Touch, the Small golden Fields with Wing Strike, the Middling-Short russet Crags who Hypnotize, the Middling azure Crystals with Poison Spines, the Middling-Tall crimson Smokes who breathe Dense Smog, and Large violet Storms who Summon Lightning
Natural Abilities and Bonuses come inherent to each race; Wolfen cannot learn Elemental Magics, Amkyn as a whole are unable to use Celestial Magics, and Arriv remain barred from the Primal category of Natural Magics. Other than those restrictions, any personage is free to pick and choose whatever skills they prefer from these areas of study:
MELEE Hand to Hand - Close Combat - Long Range
FOCUS Conviction - Centering - Awareness
SUBTLETY Tricks - Borrows - Whispers
NATURAL MAGIC Primal - Musical - Soul - Growth - Decay
CELESTIAL MAGIC Arcane - Astral - Alchemy - Sorcery - Sacrificial
ELEMENTAL MAGIC Fire - Water - Earth - Air - Magma - Ice - Light - Dark
There are four basic abilities within each category; specializing can earn the favor of that field's divine patron(s), whereas diversifying can open pathways to particular allies and organizations. New characters begin with four choices; leveling up allows the option of adding a new ability to one's skillset, or upgrading one already known to improve its output.

☆ ° • Aspen Ecko • ° ☆
(sim made by me @castiele-rose)
The Doctor of the Luna Witch Coven, Aspen Ecko, is a young medical student who wants to use science and medicine to help people and society evolve and stir away from the beliefs that witches can only do harm. However much he doesn't like to admit, he might have to reply on his own magic to help him out a little, but he is confident he can do it.
He is very smart, genius in fact, loves reading and stays up late studying medicine and practising spells and charms. He also has particular love for horses as he thinks they are majestic creatures.
I made Aspen for my own gameplay, but people requested me to upload him so I'm doing it!
Note: Sims I make for my own personal gameplay are super CC and Store content heavy (some more some less) so BEWARE when downloading them! Make sure you check out the list of CC and Store content down below and download all of it, unless you want some stuff to be replaced by base game items. Even then I can NOT guarantee you my sims will look same in your game as they do in mine, which again depends on CC and custom sliders you might not have in your game.

Running Theories and Rationals for Dave’s Species
I decided to list out all the main possibilities of Dave’s species and why these could work, and why they couldn’t.
As always spoilers:
Magical creature that just sort of exists: So this one is complicated. Dave is very much a sort of magical creature, or at least one that defies physics, so this theory is that he’s just a Cryptid that exists for no reason with no set origin. Kinda like a SCP, he just appeared and no one knows why. It kind of removes the need to explain things for him so I don’t like it as much.
Crab/worm: This is a theory that doesn’t fully work on its own. It’s more just dependant on the fact he has purple blood and those things sometimes do. But it doesn’t explain why or how he exists and why he’s so humanlike.
Lizard: Like the crab/worm theory this one doesn’t work entirely on its own, although it does make quite a deal of sense to me that Dave is a lizard. It’s based on the fact he has scales, although it doesn’t explain much else. He just gives off reptile vibes. Maybe it’s his neck being reminiscent of a snake, maybe it’s his scales, or maybe it’s something else entirely, regardless Dave is at least probably something vaguely resembling a reptile.
Experiment: This is not originally my theory, user @autumnclove brought it up in a RB of my original Dave species post, and in my opinion it makes probably the most sense of anything. Why? Because it means he doesn’t have to be even related to a human. My theory if Dave were some kind of experiment he’s a manmade creature made up of an amalgam of parts of many creatures made to look human with a reptilian base and purple blood.
Alien: This is my second favourite theory after the experiment theory. Dave has been compared to an alien ingame and if he were some sort of reptile esque extraterrestrial humanoid with purple blood who just crashed on to earth Superman (or more accurately in his case Megamind) style it would explain a lot. In fact the only thing it doesn’t explain is his presumably humanoid organs and how he manages to survive so well on earth. It especially explains why no one has ever seen anything else like him.
Deformed Human: To get this out of the way, Dave is not a deformed human. There is no way he could be. Sure a few physical differences are excusable, however Dave is purple, has scales, seems to have some sort of retractable goblin shark type teeth, has no nose nor ears, purple blood, and an extending neck that can only be explained by magic or a very weird very messed up skeletal structure. None of these are really things a human with some deformations could have, the bones maybe but the rest of it are features a human couldn’t possibly have because we ourselves don’t have anything like any of those features. Dave is not a human, that much is clear.
Overall this is just my list but if you have any other theories about Dave’s possible species I’d love for you to tell me and I might add them in the future if you like <:
Dave’s species is one of my favourite topics of DSAF and I want to come up with a couple possible concrete answers if not figure out what he probably would be.
I love speculative zoology and evolution so a character with largely inhuman features who’s species is left unknown and a lot of very particular traits that actually can exist brings me like a moth to a flame.

Is there a particular kind of snake you envision Changsheng as? She strikes me as something like a pink-eyed leucistic rat snake, but I feel like the size is off on that!
🐍 unprompted inquiry │ always accepting.
i haven't really put much thought into what changsheng is just mainly because i thought of her as more of a rare & unique snake 'species' to begin with . if you wanted to even call her that . but now that you have brought up the question ... there are a FEW things that i have been slightly aware of - but just didn't put effort into researching because i was primarily focuses on what baizhu was . ( i had been contemplating a naga for quite some time ngl , but i need to put more research into it ) . i digress though . what kind of snake is changsheng ? what do i envision her as ? well its a bit complicated .
your suggestion is something that would make sense though ! rather ... an albino leucistic rat snake that is . a long time ago i was studying the different species of snakes to try to study changsheng a bit more ( was she venemous ? was she harmless ? ) . a closer study is that - given her eye & head shape - she's non - venomous . ( a random side note & fun fact though is that baizhu as a snake IS venomous ) . she's albino for sure though . but the species is a bit harder to distinguish . i believe if she WERE a snake , it would be a serpent that is native to asia but still non venomous . perhaps a red bamboo or a copperhead racer - to name a couple . there are a few rat snakes found in asia as well , so i wouldn't doubt if she were one .
the other thing about changsheng is that there is a HIGH possibility that she's actually based not on a real animal but rather chinese lore . namely The Legend of the White Snake . though that legend is about lady bai ( oddly enough who does that remind you of ? well ... BAIZHU seems to coincidentally have a very close name to her - though it is assumed he's just named after a medicinal herb since he's a pharmacist after all ) . though i am not the only one to have considered this for changsheng . obviously it's just speculation & all , but it would make sense if changsheng IS based off of the legend of the white snake . she is the white lady after all ( more or less ) . but what is oddly strange about this is that there is ALSO a green snake in the legend as well - & why .... who else is green ? baizhu of course !
there are too many similarities between the legend & changsheng ( & baizhu for that matter ) that you cannot ignore it . i must admit that i myself am not of asian decent nor am i well versed in the lore - but i can most certainly try my best to look into the lore since i believe that many of the eastern lore is quite rich & very interesting .
but that's the thing . i don't think i really focused on LOOKING for a species for changsheng BECAUSE i have been more interested in lore & legends . i had been doing it for baizhu , so changsheng would be no different . just like i hc that baizhu is not a normal human ( or human to begin with ) , the same goes for his serpent companion . she is not a normal snake by any means .
to put it simply : i dont really want to label changsheng with a specific snake species - though she would be albino if we had determine something . she's most likely based more off of an eastern legend though . namely the legend of the white snake . & in that case , i don't think she would really be labeled as a specific species since she would be ' the white snake ' . either way , i think she would really be an unnamed snake species . a 'one of a kind ' type of snake , so it would be a bit hard to .... put her in a group . if that makes sense ?
#hc.#answer.#dandelicnfang#MAN i know i looked more into this before#when i was trying to figure out if she would venomous or not#but i dont think i ever decided on WHAT she was dfhakdskh#aside from the fact that her bites aren't lethal lshfkfads#long post //

File: Killer Klowns from Outer Space
SCP#: AAC
Code Name: The Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Object Class: Somnum
Special Containment Procedures: The last ship that arrived on earth was ultimately destroyed by [data expunged] after the [data expunged] incident. Therefore, no containment procedures on SCP-AAC were made. However, the chances of that ship SCP-AAC came to earth from, being the only on in existence is extremely low. As such, Mobile Task Force Apollo-1 “Orion’s Belt” is to remain alert at all times in case any object, that matches the description of the ship that SCP-AAC used to invade earth, enters our solar system. This is why SCP-AAC is given the object classification of Somnum.
Description: SCP-AAC are a species of hostile alien organism that seem to resemble grotesque forms of clowns on earth. SCP-AAC instances tend to vary in heights, sizes, body proportions, and facial structure. Though according to the reports from [data expunged] there was one in particular that was extremely large and beast like compared to the other SCP-AAC instances. Thought weather this SCP-AAC instance was a leader or just a beast of some kind is unknown. It is also unknown as to why, disregarding their grotesque appearances, SCP-AAC instances resemble clowns on earth so closely. Unfortunately, no Foundation staff were able to interact with any SCP-AAC instances. As such, the only information on SCP-AAC instances was obtained from various reports made from survivors of [data expunged]. A hypothesis was made stating that SCP-AAC instances invaded earth eons ago, and humanity modeled its own clowns after species of SCP-AAC. However, there is no concrete historical evidence to confirm this.
SCP-AAC instances based on reports of their last invasion hold technology so advanced that it goes beyond human comprehension. For example, SCP-AAC instances are able to make ballon dogs that can act like living ones. SCP-AAC instances themselves have been reported to ride on thin air as if in an invisible car and can even crash into other cars causing massive damage but absolutely no harm to the SCP-AAC instance. Then there are SCP-AAC instances capable of creating shadow puppets able to affect real life objects and organisms. It is hypothesized that this is merely the tip of the iceberg of the reality bending capabilities of SCP-AAC as a species. However, due to the destruction of their ship, there is no further information available on SCP-AAC instances, their technology, their anomalous capabilities, or their biology.
Reports form [data expunged] say that SCP-AAC instances are born form what looks to be popcorn but is more like “larva” version of SCP-AAC instances. Once these larvae find a suitable area to grow, they will either begin to change into infant SCP-AAC instances. SCP-AAC infants look like grotesque fleshy snakes that instead have small and disgusting clown heads and teeth more vicious than their parents. Because of this it is hypothesized that SCP-AAC instances aren’t humanoid at all and the humanoid bodies they do possess are just bio suits used for interaction and protection. Again, there is unfortunately nothing to confirm this.
SCP-AAC instances like to load this larva popcorn into their weapons as a means of spreading their offspring into different areas. It is theorized that this is just one of many methods they have of conquest. As typical of alien conquerors, they come to planets like earth with the intent to either take the planet or take resources form the planet; regarding the SCP-AAC instances, it is the ladder. SCP-AAC instances have a preferred form of advanced weaponry that takes the appearance of a toy blaster. They use this blaster to instantly bundle humans into cocoons of what looks like cotton candy. Unfortunately, this leads to instant death for the victim. This is their preferred method of obtaining prey as doing so allows them to store it easy. Furthermore, they can later stab straws into the cocoons, allowing them to drink the victims blood.
A peculiar part of the report from [data expunged] is that the SCP-AAC instances also have blaster that traps people in giant ballons. This is the only method of capture the SCP-AAC instances have where the victim could actually survive. Though why they would encase the victim in said ballon is unknown. It is hypothesized that they do this for an unknown method to preserve the victim for a more exquisite meal. again, with no evidence, this remains a hypothesis and nothing more.
SCP-AAC instances are strong, have advanced technology, and quite possible reality bending abilities, however they are not unstoppable. SCP-AAC instances cannot be killed by gunshots or be dismembered as they can easily and comedically grow new limbs. If the reports are to be believed, SCP-AAC instances can only be killed when they receive damage, preferably piercing damage, to the nose. This will result in their entire body combusting into green energy. This is the only known method to kill SCP-AAC instances.
SCP-AAC was discovered in 1988 after reports came in of "killer clowns" attacking the small town of [data expunged]. Apparently, the report was supposed to be sent out earlier, but the local sheriff refused to call it in. He ignored the situation as long as possible because he believed the entire town was just pranking him. It was because of his pride that local authorities as well as the Foundation itself, failed to save a majority of the town.
When the report was finally sent, local police forces as well as units from Mobile Task Force Iota-10 “Damn Feds” were dispatched to the [data expunged] carnival where they witness the destruction of SCP-AAC’s ship. Afterwards the survivors were brought into questioning by the local police. Everything they said in the interrogations was sent right back to the Foundation, thanks to the MTF Iota-10 units. Afterwards the police force and the survivors who witness the incident were given Class G Amnestics. due to their altered memories and the lack of evidence, all police forces and survivors retold the story as a terrorist attack rather than an alien invasion. The incident is now known as the [data expunged] rapture. Thankfully, since then, local authorities have all but given up on trying to find the missing victims of SCP-AAC.
The year SCP-AAC invaded was 1988 and as of writing this document it is 2023, yet no new instances of SCP-AAC have entered any part of our solar system. However, MTF Apollo-1 as well as space faring Foundation staff are advised to remain cautious of any sightings of SCP-AAC ships or instances.
"The fact that a small town could have been saved from these creatures but wasn't because of the ego and narcissism of one sheriff baffles me. Are there really people that are so self-absorbed they are willing to believe that even when the whole world is shouting to them a single truth, they believe it all to be lies. Regardless, if there's a hell then I hope this man burns in it, if he had sent out the report earlier, we would have been able to save at least half the people of the town, possibly more!" - Dr. Talic

Aquatic snakes and fungus
Today I learned of a white, aquatic aquatic 'fungus' infecting water snakes, specifically the fully aquatic Acrochordus javanicus, and amphibious Homalopsis buccata. Because these pathogens have limits of their tolerance, the problem may be prevented using tannic acids in the water. The organisms are also sensitive to temperatures over 32 degrees centigrade. So if noticed in time, the infection is easy to clear up, and better still, easy to prevent.
Most water snake species make extensive use of a dry land area in their aquaterrarium. Thereby their natural, amphibious behaviours would prevent any such pathogens becoming dangerous. However Acrochordus sp. are entirely aquatic, and Homalopsis sp. can, in my experience, be reluctant to emerse - although they certainly are amphibious snakes, and should not be maintained without a dry area. Thus these two genera are at particular risk of aquatic pathogens, compared to ie. Natrix or Nerodia.
Reptile keeper misconceptions would have it that Acrochordus, or at least A. javanicus, the most traded species, require a very low pH of about 5. This is a misunderstanding based on the preventative value of tannins, and the snakes appear indifferent to pH and hardness values. For although A. javanicus is recorded from peat swamps, it also inhabits freshwaters with less extreme parameters.

Quizzical furbearers and squamates: criticism of unusual observations
Tomasz Q. Pietrzak
Background:
That report was evaluated for principal terrestrial fauna in the areas choosed in central part of the Europe, namely Poland. I conducted field trips for purposes cursory that problem. Additionally, used interviews with hunters on animal reports. Chiefly roe deers, red foxes, feral furbearers, common squirrels, forest and meadow rodents are primary components of furbearers in the many regions of Poland. Within squamates are grass snakes or sand lizards but occur in rare, such as smooth snakes. Additionally locals have concerns to snakes, as the all are venomous. There are some records of abnormal specimens but no very strange one. Mutations of larger and smaller animals such as follow deer or vipers are occurred.
Hunters reported one animal similar to marten killed a few years ago in northeast Poland and being not fully understood. I have great imagine that some understood animals are origin as invasive species that was no previously recorded from the country. There are no records on rare animals more on south, but additionally one uncanny large boar-like creature was reported as appeared close to human settlements in Sandomierz Basin. Probably enormous male living near alterations areas and depends of supply food. In northern Poland was observed free-ranging horses being semi-feral animals that can impact on other hoofed. In southern Wielkopolska Province tracks of small deer-like animals was noted and observed one animals that being in a fact, common roe deer.
There was reports of large felines in Śląsk and Świętokrzyskie (south-central Poland) in 2008-2009 and it was proven to be cougars that escaped from illegal breeding in Czech republic. Although it was only accident and there was no peculiarity. In 2012 reports of black cougar was announcement in northwestern and southern Poland. At present, it is believed to be a kind of breed of large, black dogs (labradors?) that are feral in fields and forests. Additionally there was tracks of unidentified animal that was in a fact molten badger track. Striped feral cats, dark squirrels and jumping sand lizards in foothills and lowlands of Poland was recorded.
In Beskid Niski of south-east Poland there was literature records of flying-multicolored snakes that can fly. It is believed to be misidentification of one man being screwed. One of the responders report about very ferocious vipers living in many numbers that are inhabitants of Beskidy Mountains. The showed methodology (mixed field trips and interviews) is conducted for strange specimens and even new records of known but rare species in folklore and field surveys.
/ Variety of now-extinct, tree-snake recorded by interview in village near Myślenice in autumn of 2013, could be in-fact ethno-known Aesculapian snake, which remain only in so-called folk-memory. The field survey have been carried out myself. /
Species can play a role in environments differently by various people. Each kind of that species living in wild could be a rare individuals. Ground mammals or birds even a known species are mysterious for people that are now alienated in nature.
Discussion:
Through this surveys and on the literature base there was to come a conclusion there are some peculiar specimens and other are no particular finally and existed only as self-imagination by locals and people interesting in unusually. Techniques used in this and similar overview do not confirm any unrecognized species.
Only particular specimens being enormous animals, very aggressive one, incorrectly recognized hoofed, snakes being shy and fast and living in ravines. The humans, like hermits or people walking in field and forest in some uninhabited places are misidentified by others as some known as "wild men" and classified as unrecognized species. Predators both daily and hunting under night for human living as simple as possible could be uncommon, marvelous and unknown. But in nature, there are nothing unusual. Most of records of strange animals, plants and creatures similar to humans was provided by simple or sick people. It is fantastic mysteries for them and follow them for us. But these animals could be in scientific room well-known or little-known. The true unknown animals in scientific vision living over there in places which we do not suspected or in some well-known as very wild and pristine regions. Some unusual specimens or even people imaginations/mental illness could be interesting in scientific point of vision in anatomy, medicine or genetic but no in cryptozoology.
For health minds as following by people created more and more animals even strange that they seen and report it to others as very peculiar one. For human culture all of the creatures are particular, on the other hands for population patterns all strange creatures in enormous quantities are only errors in genes or somatic defects and they disappeared from populations as fast as possible and in majority does not leave a descendant.
one perceive: There are some kinds of records of unidentified animals in sites, where it is believed commonly to be clearly. It is fabulous that people still looking for mystery, despite it is a little stupid. Stupid is stirring. Each of us would like to be stirring. People of each times tried elucidates the “mystery”. It is really enjoy that we have still piece of that perceive in times when everything could be recognize as pragmatic and scientific-related. In human communities remain a little of that inquiry.
On the other hand, the true critism: People are afraid of the unknown, but on the other hand, tend to what is unknown, they want to get something that exists in nature was something else, something completely different. In general, unidentified are only in their own convictions. These self-minded perceives are frustrating, there are no sense in a fact. Reports must be confirmed by classification framework. The methodology should be here a lot more scientific and technical at the same approach. Lets look at animals that are object. These objects appearing in a core set, which is population. A population can be a reliable reference.

the thing that makes me so interested in a crossover between these three specifically is how Sing, Zootopia, and Beastars are all set in a world of anthropomorphic animals, but they can't be the same world because small differences make them fundamentally incompatible. obviously Beastars takes place in a world where cannibalism is a Thing and the politics are completely different, but Sing also has species types (namely reptiles and primates) that Zootopia doesn't, and Zootopia's world has reached a level of peace and prosperity that Beastars definitely hasn't.
off the top of my head, some of the most meaningful differences are:
-in Zootopia, the city is built to accommodate all types of animals with various heights, weights, shapes and sizes. in Sing, the city is built with a "one size fits all" mindset and forces non-standard animals like Mike (a mouse) and Moon (a koala) to compensate. In stark contrast, the school in Beastars forms its architecture around species segregation, and the "one size fits all" approach is only used in public spaces with lots of traffic.
-speaking of sizes, Zootopia has animals that are accurately sized and proportioned to real life, while Sing and Beastars have relatively scaled down versions (e.g Meena the elephant only reaching the height of a tall human). Beastars in particular seems to be base heights entirely based on vibes--dogs seem to be human height, snakes can be tiny or huge, and even small animals are frequently sized up to the height of a smallish child.
-Sing and Beastars also have far more humanoid characters in comparison to Zootopia.
-species that exist are super varied. in Zootopia, it's strictly regulated to mammalian herbivores and carnivores with occasional omnivores like raccoons and otters. in Beastars, there are mostly mammals but domestic animals like dogs and chickens are included. in Sing, pretty much anything goes - gorillas, koalas, chickens, dogs, sheep, snails, and what have you.
-the predator/prey relations. Zootopia has tense societal drama between predator and prey but individuals can coexist just fine - the fear is always there, but generally the violence of the wild is comfortably behind them. Beastars features a much sharper divide between predator and prey species due to the very real presence of cannibalism, and the fragile peace between carnivores and herbivores always feels ready to snap. meanwhile, Sing doesn't have any species-related conflicts whatsoever and there's no word on whether they ever existed.
so if you hypothetically wrote something where the characters of one of these stories fell into the world of another, it would make really interesting dynamics - and those dynamics would change based on which world is the main setting. sending Nick and Judy into the Beastars world would force them to confront even worse prejudice (and prompt some meta, considering the original concepts present in Zootopia's plot), but sending them into the Sing world would give them whiplash because there aren't any species-based prejudices AT ALL. meanwhile, sending Haru and Legoshi into the Zootopia world wouldn't be a big deal because wolves and rabbits exist there, while sending Johnny and Ash into the Zootopia world would cause tons of problems because Zootopia's world has never seen gorillas or porcupines.
i can think of so many scenarios for this. imagine Nick and Louis, two characters who have defined themselves by societal expectations of their species, falling into Sing's world and being gobsmacked that the bigoted worldviews and ugly stereotypes they've struggled with all their lives simply don't exist. imagine Judy falling into the Beastars world and, while trying to get home, valiantly tries to smooth over the predator/prey conflicts she comes across, only to slowly figure out just how violent and depraved the world is compared to hers. imagine Meena falling into the Beastars world and seeming like a giant, or falling into the Zootopia world and looking way too tiny compared to the other elephants. i spent way too long thinking about this but you get it right
having been lying in bed sick all day, i've had many strange things on my mind over the course of the past 12 hours and yet the only topic that interests me now is the ramifications of writing a crossover between Beastars, Zootopia, and Sing.
#i spent waaaaaaay too much time on this post#it's not even that i want to write this. i don't. i just love noodling over the implications of the premise#because it's just - interesting! it's really interesting to look at a setting as common as “anthro animal universe”#and note the small but pronounced differences between them#all three of these are set in a world of furry animals but it's not the SAME world#and they all have slightly different worldbuilding that would throw the characters off-guard if they encountered it#since i'm sick i get to consider the political societal and narrative ramifications of this crossover. as a treat#sage speaketh#sing#zootopia#beastars#au tag#tw: cannibalism#tw: violence mention#edited for your convenience#(<-fixed the section ab animal sizes bc it turns out i was wrong about the scales of beastars)#(in my defense i haven't seen it in years and all the memorable characters are human sized)
