Hey! Excellent update on my life—I’ve managed to move in with my partner! Well, I’m in the process of moving… but had to pay six months advance rent to get it, and now I don’t get paid until Monday and currently have £0.97 in my bank account, when I need to buy food.
And when I do have food, I need to get actual things for the house, because it’s completely unfurnished and we have very little!
If anyone has some spare cash, my PayPal is here!
Or if you’d rather buy something for the new flat, which would still be helpful, there are a few things on my Amazon Wishlist (because my partner also has very little at the moment!)
Thanks so much for reading either way 😊
#financial aid#not adhd#signal boost#mutual aid#I wanna come back to this blog to actually be deserving of asking for help 😭

My least favourite thing is when people say neurodivergent to mean adhd and autism.
Like for one-you mean neurodiverse. Like diverse neurotypes. Neurodivergent encapsulates personality disorders, trauma disorders, etc. as well as neurotypes. if you MEAN adhd and autism, say that.
And second- the adhd and autism experience are not the same. Yes there are people with both. But they are literally. Different things. There are different levels of stigma and the symptoms are mostly completely different. Adhd doesn’t cause meltdowns, and special interests and hyperfixations, while similiar, are still different things.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t be talked about together. I’m saying they need to not be treated like the same thing when they’re not.
#autism#actually autistic#adhd#not adhd#which might be why I notice this#because I can tell when they say neurodivergent and mean adhd

Hey everyone!
A friend and I have made a discord server for everything dopamine. We wanted a community where people can exchange creative projects and inspiration. We've made several channels for different types of creative outlets but also channels for movies/books/shows or games for example.
If you'd like to join here is the link: https://discord.com/invite/xKWC8jB5Gx
The discord server is 13+ and you don't need to be neurodivergent to join

Love is:
Doing everything right
And never asking for help.
It is
Contributing more every day
Than the inconvenience I cost.
Love looks like
Leaving you alone while you do stuff
And trying to be quiet.
To love is to not disturb.
And I think
I would love you better
If I weren’t here.

ADHD symptom - "d. Often does not follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace (e.g., starts tasks but quickly loses focus and is easily sidetracked)."
--
As an autistic in school, I often just did not understand what was being asked of me. I didn't understand the task sheet. I didn't understand how to start, where to start. I didn't understand what I should be writing or which concept I should be focused on. I didn't understand which process I should be following or how to stay on track for something new to me.
I was given no examples as "you could just copy that". I was given no further instruction because "that's unfair to other children".
And in workplaces and at home, I was expected to "already know" when I don't. When instructions are not clear when people don't want to further explain, then I just couldn't do the task. I would do what I could, but then would just give up and start doing something else.
I "lose focus" because I don't understand what is being asked of me. I get "sidetracked" because there's no point doing something frustrating and that I don't know.

I… thought you meant that the very small room you were in disappeared. Like you were in a room and the room disappeared
ok so i do have adhd but i feel as though this somehow transcends it. I just made a cup of tea 10 minutes ago. Im in a very small room. It has disappeared. I didnt leave the room. It just escaped. It is gone. It never was. Wheres my tea. It couldnt have gone anywhere and yet it has. Did i drink it and eat the cup and forget? Where is my tea. I miss her. This is fucked

Yeah. No ADHD but like there's the main voice of what you're actively thinking. Then there's the background chorus of:
Physical sensations - ex: tasty smell, hungry; cold air, need blanket; too bright, where sunglasses? head? purse? jacket pocket? leg sore, where bench? (assorted swearing AGAIN over supposedly walkable city taking away the benches, thoughts spiral into memories about hostile architecture and why it is so stupid AND ugly).
Memories connected to sensory data - ex: food smell brings up first time you had that item and memories connected to other food truck/cart encounters; cold air bringing up the memory of the time you didn't have an umbrella and it POURED nonstop for like 15 minutes as you walked home; bright lights bringing up both summer vacations and the eye doctor appointments; leg sore bringing up the time you did a stupid and accidentally pulled a leg muscle while holding onto something heavy.
There's so much data that you only see in a crowd scene where MULTIPLE people are going off on vastly different thoughts.
But a single clear line of thoughts is streamlined for ease of media. Unless its a deliberate choice in having the mind reader pick up more than just it and they actively filter out what they aren't looking for.
There's a cool idea for some OCs in here somewhere...

There's a bunch of adhd advice out there that's like "people with adhd tend to work better under deadlines due to the anxiety so here are ways to artificially induce a stress response in order to get you to get work done" and it's like well what if I don't want to be stressed out all the time in order to function

Drug regulations love to err on the side of being excessively strict, and that really shows a lack of respect and concern for folks whose healthy brain chemistry relies on a stable supply of medication.
Like, I don't even have ADHD (I'm autistic), but I've been present for plenty of frustrated phone calls with people who cancel or waylay or delay my friend's medication because they think they're being careful
When what they're actually doing is disregarding the fact that people move, or change pharmacies, or have a goddamn schedule to keep, or will run out of medication if the supplier is late! And choosing to not take that risk to the patient seriously has the effect of indirectly fucking with somebody's brain chemistry. That's really ableist, and it's not okay.
#social issues#mental health#not ADHD#I also have family and friends with chronic pain and it's the same goddamn thing.#Like sorry but peepaw's arthritis isn't going to go away and he's going to need to stay on those painkillers to not be miserable#You all do remember that being miserable and stressed *also* kills people right?#''oops! we decided not to ship them this month because someone thinks that we're dispensing too many.'' is not the excuse you think it is??#That stunt is not going to suddenly change the amount of scripts people have!#Medical politics are so fucking evil
