first of all ao3 is an archive site. this is like going to the library and saying "oh i dont like this" on every piece of media you find that you dislike and thinking they should be stamped with some sort of a marker just cause you didnt like it

you can always click back and leave. fic writers owe you nothing to explain themselves and their creations. if they have mistagged or miscategorized fics, then i understand, however there are report tools for that instead of yelling at the artist tbh

im not saying free works arent necessarily above criticism. but this is just. fucking wild. its common courtesy to just enjoy stuff (or fucking leave if you dont, the back button is free) and if the artist specifically asks for critiques, then give one - constructive that is, shitting all over someones work is not proper criticism, mind you

i just find it fucking wild people are treating art and archive sites as social media these days like this and everything needs to be policed and ~catered to the algorithm~ like. no. ao3 doesnt have an algorithm. you should be able to fucking tell what you like and what you dont like and steer away from that kind of content and let people fucking be with their art. they dont owe you anything (except trigger warnings i'd argue, but i know some people disagree with that as well for some reason), and imagine how much more energy you'd have if you only engaged with things you liked and spent time looking at instead of going to places where you dont enjoy yourself. let alone spending time telling other people you dont enjoy what they enjoy. what a fucking life

Also, evidence shows the majority of serial killers are male, so I'd argue that the statistics favor the fujoshis here.

Quirks and organ donations

Today on my 8AM rambles/overthinking session , i got hung up on the effect of quirks on the medical field. Specifically organ donors and blood banks.

I mean, with the appearance of quirks, do you think the restrictions for donations got stricter?

I thought about it for a long 10 mins and i think it all comes down to: how DEEP do quirks go? Like we know that quirks arent just superpowers, theyre scientifically-makes-sense superpowers. But how far does that go?

I dont know if this is canon or just a really widespread fanon, but for the Todorokis, yes their body temperatures have adapted for their quirks. But what about people with mutant(?) quirks? Take Spinner, for example, is he cold-blooded? Do other animal-like people have the internal structure of their respective creatures?

Like if Shoto wanted to give a kidney to one of his siblings, would he be obligated to give the one on his ice side? Yk, cause Natsuo an Fuyumi both inherited their mom's constitution? Or if he gave one to a regular patient, would his kidney adapt to the new body temperature, or would it just fail and cause mire problems?

And when you go to donate blood, how strict are they?

"Yes, okay, what type A,B,AB or O? Okay, what's your quirk? Blood related? Okay, does your blood combust, explode, chage shape or form under any circumstances? Yes im afraid we cant accept you then. We want to save patients not put them in more jeopardy."

What about quirk-effected organs? Would they be outrught refused, or just go through a more thorough screening? Would the quirk's effect last even outside it's original body? If someone donated a lung with larger-than-normal capacity would it still give the receiver very good breathing?

And finally the most important question of all:

Am i onto something, or am i just overthinking it and there are plenty of Garys and Barrys that have blood transmutation and/or organ growth quirks for this to NOT be a problem?

so i do think it's very interesting how, at least from what i've observed, people see/depict worst logan as kind of different from the x men logan in terms of their propensity for violence, or rather how this violence is released. i think it has to do with a couple of things:

as many have pointed out, wade is the only one who has ever been able to match him in a fight. so it makes sense that people would headcanon their relationship as involving fights on the regular. but also;

most of what we see from him in the movie is him fighting, and so we assume that he has a tendency towards it, especially since the past he's trying to escape from is exactly that: him being violent towards others, including those who don't deserve it. i think this has definitely subconsciously shaped some people's perception of him in some way.

but i think it's good to remember that what we are shown isn't proportionate to who he is, because the movie necessarily can't develop his character much outside of the plot. i don't think worst logan and x-men logan are different at all in the sense of x-men logan being "gentler", because not only have we just not had the chance to see worst logan act otherwise, but x-men logan also has this same animalistic violence in him. we can see how quickly he unleashes himself in the movies when the situation calls for it, and even when he's doing it to protect, there's still that rage underneath it all.

worst logan is violent towards wade because 1. he's projecting, and 2. wade can take it. but also it's a symptom of something else that he hasn't worked through, possibly decades of trauma he hasn't worked through. i'm working on a fic that explores this rn, but my headcanon is that his post-x-men rampage was a sort of addiction for him because of the release it gave him, which he then replaced with getting shitfaced, and finding someone who could take him in a fight (wade) could be a reversion to the former addiction if he doesn't work on it. (i think that especially with superhero movies, it's so easy to brush off violence as just another normal thing, but realistically, a failure to unpack all that baggage could escalate his problems into something way worse.)

so imo i think worst logan is practically the same, if not very similar, to x-men logan, just that he's a variant that was dealt the worst card, but we interpret his character differently because all we're shown is what he became because of it. we all know logan is gentle with his lovers, and i think that unless wade shows that he enjoys it, logan would not be violent towards him just because wade can take it. just because you can doesn't mean you should, and i think he of all people would understand that
