because I'm French (a hater at heart) here's everything I disliked about tua s4

it felt like half a season. and yeah there was half as much episode as there is usually, but even in the storytelling it felt like half of the story was missing (notably the EXPLANATIONS on so many things)

Klaus being sidelined. AGAIN. just kill him at this point if you have no idea what to do with him (I mean they did kill him so....)

since we're on Klaus, every season I feel like I'm rewatching him doing the EXACT. SAME. THING. but in a different outfit + hair. there's a commentary that could be made about being stuck in the vicious circle of addiction, which, fair. but while s2 shows that vicious circle, s3 and s4 are just a repeat of s1 because the writers were lazy.

I HATED the Lila x Five thing. it's not so much about the ship (that I don't like anyway) but I feel like it's an insult to both characters (but particularly Five) to make it happen. Lila loves Diego, and even through the hard parts of their marriage she tried her best to make it work. and Five? Five "I waited 45 years in the apocalypse and became a time assassin just to get back to my family" Hargreeves? you're going to tell me that THAT Five would dare to do something that would shatter his brother's entire world? PLEASE.

the ending is lazy. I'm all for tragic endings that make people cry until they drown in their own tears, but only when they're WELL DONE. this just felt like "oh idk what to do anymore with them so let's kill everyone". and I saw it coming since the beginning of the season so...

is it me or was there more gore and swears than all the other seasons? like I get they finally had the right to swear and all that, but I feel like it was a little overdone? idk maybe that's just me

most characters felt like caricature of themselves, notably Luther. (tbh for Luther it has felt like that for a few seasons now, but the issue extended to other characters this season). either that or it felt like they had no reasons to be here, like Viktor.

why did Ben make everyone drink the marigold? he could've just took some himself and that's all. why did they even need to vote on that considering the fact that, even if one of them took marigold, not all of them would get their powers back?

s3 post-credit scene wasn't explained AT ALL???? all the season I was waiting for Umbrella!Ben to pop up in the tube station with Five & Lila but nope. nothing. did they even rewatch the previous seasons before making this one?

Okay, enough with the positives, lets talk flaws. I wish I could say there weren’t any, but I am not a liar. Warning, spoilers along with swearing and excessive caps lock.

Also am being pretty blunt here. I did overall enjoy the movie a lot, but if you’re reading my criticisms, I doubt you want me to sugar coat them, so I won’t. If you don’t want the negativity, that’s totally fine! A movie doesn’t have to be perfect for you to like it, and, again, I ENJOYED THIS MOVIE! So, feel free to skip this post and enjoy the rest of my autism fueled happy rants! However, if you want to hear my honest criticism, here you go.

Firstly, ending was fucking awful. I will be making a whole post alone on it just because of how much it sucked. Also wont did into the problems with the time travel, other than one major one at the end. Time travel in ANY show is a horrible idea.

Choreography was garbage. Every single song had the same dynamic. The main singer was at the center while a triangle of backup dancers flailed around in the back. If you don’t know, I’ve done dance for a large portion of my life, and have a background in ballet among many other styles, so I know for a FACT they could have done better. And its not just that it was bad. D1-D3 were no chorographical masterpieces, but DROR felt as if it was HIGHLIGHTING IT! YOU COULD NOT ESCAPE THE JOJO SIWA ASS FLAILING. WHAT THE HELL!

That one ponytail on Bridget was a hate crime. I’ve never really been a wig snob, I though Mal’s D3 wig was fine although apparently it wasn’t, but if I can tell a wig is bad, you need to burn it.

Although Uliana (aka my wife) was the best thing in this world, the rest of the Merlin-Era VKs were meh. They tried to recreate the Sea Three dynamic and did it, but it wasn’t good. I actually liked Morgie better than Gil, but that’s because I never liked Gil as I am a firm hater on comic relief characters, and Morgie is the same exact things although he gets glowey eyes so that’s better than Gil. Hook was just Harry but boring and no longer a whore (non-derogatory), and the rest of them could be erased from the show and nothing would change.

Speaking of characters, WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MADDOX!? I didn’t finish the newest book, but unless something CRAZY happens at the end, these are two different characters. I suspect this is another crime of Disney not telling Melissa de la Cruz enough, or maybe it was bad writing on her end (wouldn’t be the first time,) but still was lame.

Also, this might just be me, but the way they handled Carlos rubbed me the wrong way, although that was a decision from the wedding animation that I always hated. They could have just pretended they never did that, but I understand why they didn’t. Still made me hella uncomfy.

As of now I think that’s about everything, although there were quite a few minor things. I won’t list them all off as I don’t want to nitpick, but just to name a few…

Ben Barnes X fem!reader

Summary: In which Y/n and Ben are separated, but their characters in the series are not. As a result, there was a scene in which the two characters needed to reconcile, however, Y/n and Ben weren't acting at that time.

When Y/n and Ben accepted the roles to act in The Punisher, they both knew that their characters would be a romantic couple throughout the series, and that this would not be a problem, the actor couple had already been dating in real life for more than two years. and they could just act normal in front of the cameras.

However, as filming for the series progressed, there were numerous obstacles that Ben and Y/n were facing in their relationship. Haters, fake betrayals and lots of fights when they got home stressed.

Which ended in a separation. They both knew it would be better this way, better for their health. But there was no way to forget it so quickly, it had been almost three years by each other's side, there was no way to forget the love of your life.

At the present time, Y/n and Ben were living in New York to finish the series, but of course, they were both in different apartments. Since now they were no longer a couple in real life.

Y/n and Ben were on the recording set, while the director told them how that scene should be done.

It was more than obvious that tension arose when the couple separated, after all, their characters were still a couple in love.

Two months had passed after their breakup, but they both looked so tired that it seemed like all the fighting, talking, and breaking up had happened the night before.

Ben was no longer happy on set. On the contrary, when he wasn't filming, he was just wandering aimlessly around the other sets on the set or reading a book that was always in his car.

Y/n wasn't any different either, her shine had gone out and whenever she had a break between scenes, she would run to the car and cry. She couldn't bear to see, record or hear Ben's voice in character without thinking about the last time they were a couple in real life.

It was the price paid for being two famous actors who were in a long-term relationship.

"Y/n, try to stay closer to the window. Because then you can turn around to face Ben" the direct man says and the actress nods. Ben makes a thumbs up with his hands and they return to their seats.

The delegate boots that Y/n wore made a noise on the set. Ben analyzes his ex-girlfriend who had her back turned, admiring everything that was on the woman's body.

The holster, the boots, the fake glasses that your character wore and the bulletproof vest. She looked beautiful in that outfit, Ben couldn't deny it. He always loved Y/n, and it wouldn't be now that he would stop.

Y/n turns around and Ben looks away before the scene begins.

"3...2...1...ACTION!!" the director shouts and they start doing the scene.

The scene they were both doing today was a fight. When they read it the night before, their chests tightened in pain, all they could think about was their last night. The fight they had before breaking up the relationship.

"Do you think it's being easy for me??" Y/ says, now as her character. "Do you think it's easy for me to listen to all the insults they say about you and not think about our relationship. Heavens Billy!!! Look what's happening to our relationship because of them" Y/n says running his hands through his hair as he walks through the living room of Ben's character's apartment. AKA Billy.

"Honey, listen!!" Billy says trying to get closer to his girlfriend. Which was played by Y/n.

"I can't, I've already heard too much. And it always starts with excuses and ends in a fight because I really don't know what's true or not." Y/n says going a little off script.

The director looks at the paper but doesn't say anything, he was enjoying how things were going. Even though Ben and Y/n weren't enjoying recording that scene.

"Billy, by Gods. I've heard so much from you and others that now I'm lost. My brain says to drink beer for breakfast so I can forget about you in my day, but my heart loves you too much to do that . Heavens!!! Where is the love that you say so much about???" Y/n shouts, making Ben wince a little.

She was a little out of control, which was making Ben worried. But he didn't want to intervene, she was just acting.

But not...

"That moon that danced for us. She's tired and now turns her back on us. That's what's happening to us Billy, look at our relationship. It's getting hidden behind black clouds like the moon on a stormy night." Y/n says shedding some tears.

It was more than obvious that this line wasn't in the script, but no one wanted to interfere. The scene was looking wonderful in the eyes of the director.

"Honey" was Ben's character's turn. Or basically Ben himself. "To hell with the outside world, nothing more matters in my life than you. You are the reason I live, every day I wake up thinking about you and every night I sleep thinking about you. I think for the first time, you should listen to your heart, we know you always believed in me, but the pressure of the world wanted you to think differently" Ben says leaving the scene completely and approaching Y/n, who was now struggling not to shed more tears than he should . Barnes places both hands on the woman's cheeks. "Let me stroke your hair again. Let me cover your chest with my chest. I will paint the sky with colors again. I will make you forget the whole world once and for all. Let me touch your mouth. Let me stop the hours. I'll paint the universe blue again and I'll make this all just a dream. Just let me come back to you and show you that this was all a nightmare that the world put on us. You were always mine, and you always will be" He he says with tears in his eyes and Y/n smiles slightly before locking lips with the actor.

That wasn't in the scene, but it gave it a real touch. Because really, everything they both said was true and they were talking about their real-life relationship, not the fictional one.

When they both felt the air running out, they both separated and the director cut the scene with claps coming from him.

"Brilliant, it seemed like no one was there acting"

Without holding back, he let the tears fall and sobs were heard loudly. The actress ran off the set and everyone looked worried.

"It's just that we weren't really acting" Last thing Ben says before running after Y/n.

The woman was no longer running, but was now walking quickly to the car in the parking lot. She didn't care if she was still wearing her character's clothes, she just wanted to get to the car and cry until the world ended.

"Y/n!!...Y/N!!" She hears Ben's voice behind her, and without thinking, her body stops where it is and turns to see her ex-boyfriend.

Ben got closer and closer and Y/n's eyes cried even more.

"I-...I'm sorry" First thing she says when Ben is facing her. "I shouldn't have given up on our relationship like I did, I really love you so much and this is all too terrible to bear." Y/n says and Barnes approaches her and wraps her in a hug.

"My sweet girl, it's okay..." she says while shedding some tears. "I also haven't been such an attentive boyfriend lately and let the outside world get in the way of our relationship. But I knew that everything I said inside was to you, not to our characters. I want you back, girl" he kisses the top of Y/n's head. "I will always want you, my sweet and beautiful girl"

Y/n cries harder against his chest, only pulling away to say a few words.

"Ben, I love you. I never stopped loving you. And I want you more than anything" Y/n says and Ben without thinking puts their lips together again.

"Let's go home, baby!! Let's go back to our house" Ben says as he wraps her in another cozy hug.

this isn't really a gush but i wanted an excuse to ramble without getting embarrassed hfshjhddj i might not be very coherent, and all of this is just me talking to myself (about arifive) so i can organize my thoughts

okay firstly, i am rewatching season 3. it is such a giant shitshow. honestly. hfshjfdhhdh now the thing is, the plot threads are so tightly knit together (same can be said for the whole show, really) that ive always found it difficult to self insert into it. which is why ari doesn't play too much of a role besides being five's self-appointed meatshield lol

i am rolling with it and making it related to his character arc throughout the story, but i also thought, what if i scrap him altogether? 🤔 what if he was still in the first apocalypse? we do see in the s4 trailer that we might get to see it again through the time-traveling subway(?) so the idea of arifive reunion there sounds. hmmmmmm. but then again that would present a lot of issues like awkward age gap that just. doesn't feel like their style i guess

that idea, i realize, is also just going to be scrapped right away though. five would never leave him there to begin with. that's the entire basis of their relationship 😭

however that does leave ari as a hanging thread with nowhere to go again. ive tried my best not to speculate too hard so i can roll with the flow as s4 comes out (in less than a week :DD) but i really do wonder. in any case ari's presence there, i feel like, would already create colossal differences to the canon events simply because he's there? 😭 five might not behave the same way because of that and now i have to rewrite the entire series. which is such a pain. honestly

like a lot of problems would be solved so fast if ari was there 😒 not to toot my own horn or anything hfshjfsfhj but i do mean it. like the many times five gets hurt and shot at would be solved very quickly, since ari would be affected by neither of that. that is a major problem on this show in general i think. it relies too much on the inconvenience of it all. they keep all their main characters busy and distracted so they're never on the same page, and therfore they all deal with shit by themselves for 10 episodes when they could've solved the problem in 1 by just talking to each other for more than 3 minutes,,,

this show is so so annoying actually how am i supposed to walk around saying "i like this show" when that is sooo not true i am the umbrella academy's number 1 hater at this point 💀 but also i have extensive knowledge of the characters, lore, and plot that is basically burned into my skull. yes i hate this show i swear

one way i had wanted to give ari his own plot (his main theme is of him growing into his own person after his childhood was cut short, after all) was his doppelganger, morgan, in the sparrow academy but im so lost on whether or not she's dead at the end of the season,,,💀 like sure TWO sparrows survived to the finale. out of SEVEN. and then one of them lived until the end (but he's ben so we're unsure about why he's here), but the other one????? no one knows where the hell she went???????? and the season 4 promo doesn't mention her at all 😭 😭 😭 😭 im so confused okay

one thing i definitely had wanted to touch on when i flesh out ari's arc is his powers. they are so complex and personally one of my favorite concepts ever. the power itself is actually rather simple in concept, just hard to explain

but assuming that there are multiple timelines and dimensions in the universe, ari's powers make it so that he is spiritually connected to all his other selves. at least, more so than the average person would be. this is why he doesn't die! if everyone else's souls are split into all their different variants', ari's variants have one soul connected together like a giant web. even if you cut one string, you still have the web, and it can still be rebuilt. therefore, he can never really be processed as dead (unless he cuts the string himself, but he doesn't know that)

that has always been so interesting to think about for me, and how that impacts his character, because then even his power is a direct parallel to five's. five is the traveler of time and space, meaning he can go anywhere he wishes. ari, meanwhile, is already there. always has been, always is, always will be

i was going to build up on that in season 3 and 4, since morgan is one of his variants but. 💀 um. she might have been wiped from existence altogether so i don't really know if that counts as killing her

tldr this show is stupid. it's so stupid it makes its characters stupid by proxy. if i put myself, a non-stupid person, there, there would be no more plot :( i am sad. but i will carry on with my watching because i need to see my husband very badly

I ripped the bandaid off and just reread the first book in the Young Jedi Knights series with the old EU Solo kids and their friends.

Oh my god I know why I loved them all so much. They're such a joy. I cannot wait to meet Zekk. I am home.

And I know why I avoided this series. Because why?

Who in their right mind would say we have a template for a well written, kind, animal loving, boy who tried his hardest to make the super serious warrior girl in his class who was a secret princess laugh and look at his loving uncle and loving parents who had had so much character development

and nuke. it. all.

And make sure Ben Solo/Kylo Ren was the name everyone knew. Made sure everyone knew they ruined his parents and ruined the character development of his father and turned his uncle into a shell. We could've gotten Luke smiling at his students getting into a food fight! Food fight!

We should've gotten Jacen, not Ben. Should've gotten Jaina and Tenal Ka, not Rey. Lowie and Zekk over Finn and Poe. The OT Trio should've been treated with respect. Old Peckham(That's a name I could NEVER forget, I loved Old Peckham) over Maz. Brakiss over Snoke. The temple in the jungle over ruins.

The template was right. Fucking. There. And they nuked it all.

Yes there was a reason I didn't dare go back to the real Solo kids, their friends, and the way they loved their father and mother and uncle. Because they trampled over it all with no respect for the story and characters. Just wanted their fame and red carpets and money.

(I swear I normally like Kylo and Rey and TFA I just. I think I care more about not being a "sequel hater" then letting myself be honest)

2 am thoughts about The Umbrella Academy season 3, because I literally just finished it

I had no idea what to expect starting it tbh. I wasn’t disappointed. This season was just as weird and fun as the two previous ones. I did however think it was really slow in the beginning. It didn’t have to be 10 episodes. 8 episodes would for sure have been enough. 

The plot of them having to save the world somehow doesn’t get boring. Like you would expect it to get boring, but there’s just so much plot aside from that, so I don’t mind that plotpoint being the same again and again. 

Kind of disappointed how almost all of the Sparrows just died. That was surprising to me. I expected them to have a bigger role in everything. Also their siblings didn’t even really care that they died? Like what? 

I am still very very confused about the dad, but he has to be a cockroach cause he just. won’t. freaking. die. Please just die once and for all old man.. 

Five. I liked Five a lot this season. The previous seasons I was kind of over him being all arrogant and stuff, but he was much more likeable this season for sure. I know that the whole point of season one was him wanting to save the world, because he saw everyone from his family die, but even then it didn’t really feel like he cared much about them tbh. This season however, it definitely felt like he cared way more. It was very nice to see. Also get the guy a vacation damn. No wonder he was tired of trying to save the world. I would be too, that’s for sure. 

Luther. I was the biggest Luther hater in season one, but he was definitely one of my favourites this season. We love a good himbo! Also lowkey obsessed with how he falls in love like instantly. Like the world is literally ending around you, but let’s have a wedding, cause why not. I love that LMAO.

Klaus. Love Klaus. Like how can you not tbh? I wasn’t expecting him to turn out to be immortal, but I guess it made sense. I feel bad for him, cause he just wanted to be loved by their dad, but instead he gets experienced on and betrayed. He deserves a better parent figure!! He just wanted to find his mom and be happy, yet that couldn’t happen. A little disappointed he didn’t really get to do much of his ghost thing this season. ALSO WHEN WILL PEOPLE LISTEN TO HIM. I swear he always has some important information, but nobody listens cause he’s Klaus..

Diego. Love the dad vibes. I didn’t expect it, but it was kind of one of my favourite things about this season. Can we get a spin-off of just Diego being a dad? But the child has to be Stanley. Stanley was literally so funny? He pretended to be Diego’s son and then accidentally killed his pretend uncle? And he was just going to disolve the body without telling anyone? Absolute chaos, but I loved it. Also love how protective Diego got, when he found out he was actually going to be a dad. Love that for him.

Ben. I didn’t like him at the beginning of the season (but I’m pretty sure that was the point so...) but he definitely grew on me. It was cool seeing him actually using his power. Kind of miss the old Ben tho. Also miss the Ben and Klaus moments from the other seasons... Also very curious about what the Jennifer story is? Did I miss it or did they actually never tell us?

Allison. ... I did not vibe with Allison this season. I get that she’s grieving, and of course she’s allowed to do that. But did she really have to be so mean? Like it wasn’t even the “I’m sad so I’m going to be a bit snappy with people” kind. This was just unnecessary rudeness? Not to mention she was going to sexually assault Luther? Like what was that? Was the really necessary? I don’t mind a good villian arch, but this wasn’t a good one. She just blamed everyone but herself for her loss. It also just seemed out of character for her? From season one she was always nice to Viktor. Even when he cut her throat and almost killed her, she didn’t blame him. That trust and understanding was just thrown out the window, like what even. I’m not vibing with her blaming Viktor for everything as if she didn’t have a part in the world ending too. They were literally all partly to blame, but sure, blame your brother who has enough childhood trauma for all of you. 

Viktor. Absolutely love how everyone was just like “oh you’re Viktor now? Great good for you. We accept and respect that”. AND IT DIDN’T BECOME THE WHOLE CHARACTER. Like usually when there’s trans representation (or any lgbt+ representation in general tbh) it becomes their whole character, and the only characteristic of said character, and I am just so damn happy that that didn’t happen here. Love that. Just this makes The Umbrella Academy superior tbh. ANYWAS back to Viktor. I honestly felt bad for him. The season started with all of them supporting him and loving him (which was great, definitely what he deserves) but then everyone just kind of turned on him, calling him selfish and stuff? But all he did was literally just try to right his wrongs. I love Viktor and he didn’t deserve what was thrown at him. As if he didn’t only find out he had powers like a year (was it even a year? I don’t remember how long he was in the past for) ago, and it’s not like you all treated him like an outcast all of his life either, right? Oh wait, that did happen. I don’t think he was being selfish, but even if he was, I actually think he had some right to be. Give him a break and let him be for a second, would you? thank you. 

Anyways I enjoyed this season. Liked some things more than others tho, but overall I liked it!

Chapter 9 of wreck my plans, that's my man is out!

Summary: Luke Skywalker-Naberrie is sent on a diplomatic mission to Mandalore, on behalf of the Republic. He plans on getting the work done and leaving as soon as he can after the two years is up, but that was before he meets the Mand'alor.

Excerpt under the cut:

“We’re getting married,” Luke whispers, unable to hide the joy in his voice.

A laugh escapes Din, who nods his head, saying, “Yeah, we are, we’re getting married.”

Luke pictures a smile pulling across Din’s face, with soft rosy lips being at the center of it all. Tears prick his eyes when he realizes that the moment is coming when he’ll get to look into Din’s eyes, pick out every shade that swims in those depths, trace his fingers across his cheekbones, and eyes running over every piece of the man he loves. He’ll commit it all to memory, Luke swears to it.

“I love you,” Luke says, and Din brings a hand up to the back of Luke’s head.

i feel like luke and leia would probably relate to anti-hero!! especially luke and he probably thinks about vader, but i don't think it's a vader song, I think it's an anakin song if that makes sense

lavender haze is a dinluke or an anidala song, ESPECIALLY anidala, from padme's prospective

Why do you have to snipe? I am being civil here responding to a comment. I don't post "hate" as you call them and I don't agree with everything the so-called "sceptics" post and I don't swear. For goodness sake at least try and be civil and don't class me along with "sceptics and haters". That time has passed. Do keep up.

You might not believe Gatorshit's conspiracy theories, but you do have a nasty habit of liking posts that make fun of Sophie and deny that she's really married to Ben and the mother of his kids. So that makes you a hater. If you were really being civil, you wouldn't be denying that Ben's kids are real. You wouldn't interact with a woman who has spent the last 7 years falsely accusing Sophie of horrible crimes.

King Falls wasn't exactly 100% accurate radio-wise... but compared to some others, it's not bad.

Honestly, it boils down to that every radio station is different. I only had a show at a college radio station, so it's quite low-key.

For example, while food/drink was highly discouraged as there was sensitive equipment that cost too much (tho during the marathons, I saw cups floating around)... it wasn’t the broadcasting equipment that got damaged if there was a spill. I actually snuck into our broadcasting room, and it's a whole other can of worms. So when Sammy punched whatever he punched in 68, it makes sense they kept broadcasting.

Now, Ben's bleep button is interesting. So the FCC is something all radio stations have to follow. And their rules are... murky. Like the call sign is decently clear, and Sammy and Ben read them often. But, the FCC also regulates content.

Now, no specific words are ever listed, but Carlin's 7 are generally accepted as no-goes at ANY time. There's also the 10 pm to 6 am that you can get away with some saucy stuff, but other than that, you really don't want to push it. The FCC isn't monitoring the stations at all hours.... but they do listen to complaints. (Helpful link). So Ben is pretty adamant about bleeping the words cause the fines can get pretty hefty.

Where it gets unrealistic is them no longer beeping it at the end. Complaints rack up. I believe you can get fined multiple times for one swear because of the number of complaints. The Sammy and Ben show is popular, and we know there's a ton of haters. They should be more careful.

As for the feasibility of the bleep button? I dont know. I guess he could be practically psychic and bleep it at just the right time. In most stations, there's a dump/sneeze button that wipes the past 4 or 8 seconds (sometimes 5) of air time because the radio tries to operate on a delay so they can catch any boo-boos. but that's not really to be used often b/c it takes time to build up that delay once you use it. Now, we don't have anything that utilizes that delay in our station, but it might be feasible to have the bleep button work on a 7 second delay instead of the stations regular 8. Truthfully, I don't know. I just know swearing is discouraged.

Finally, I think I messed up on the calls to action. KFAM is a commercial radio station and probably could air that ad. Non-commercials are a bit more limited. However, it was def in bad taste.

Being trained for my own radio show means I now understand why Ben was so adamant on that bleep button
