23, 30, and 42 for the music asks!
23. with my dear friend Agus, that's Venus/Kinsei by Susumu Hirasawa and with my dear friend JSA, its Frozen Beach (also Hirasawa lol). they're both very much love songs for people far away from me who i want to be near
30. literally anything. anything under the sun, if i like it and i physically can i will try to sing along to it. a lot of the japanese i know i actually picked up from hirasawa's songs because im fighting tooth and nail to learn them
42. Hirasawa's first solo trilogy are all no-skip albums to me, as are P-Model's Scuba, Fune, Enola and Music Industrial Wastes (most of p-model's no-skip to me). Aurora, Sim City and Blue Limbo are also noskips (the rest of his work would be for me too because i do really like literally everything he's done but every album's got a song or two i'll skip depending on my mood). god i should have put this in bullet points. im doing that with the rest of these cause there is a lot
Manuscript and Blood's Call by Melnitsa
Camel by Camel
Close To The Edge, The Yes Album, Tormato and Topographic Oceans by Yes
In that vein Olias Of Sunhillow by Jon Anderson
Tamahime-Sama and Showa-Era by Jun Togawa
I Am A Woman by Chenchen Bunsungnooen (you're not going to find this searching in english so its ฉันก็เป็นผู้หญิงคนหนึ่ง เจินเจิน บุญสูงเนิน in thai)
Luna, Rosenrot and Midgard by Faun
Shadow Of The Moon and Under A Violet Moon by Blackmore's Night
uh. this list could go on but its way too fucking long already

why the new album so mid... girl you had the opportunity to be something so beautiful....
I only liked SPKOTHDVL so far 💀 the rest just sound so eh. its a hard listen for me considering how strong the other 2 releases were, especially this really weird and strong vibe shift. To me gloom divison sounds similar to a generic indie band and god thats not the vibe the band had for me AT ALL. Its also so aesthetically different from the other releases too??
ALSO WHERE IS THE PIZZAZZ??? THE FLAVOUR???????
From a noskip bangers only album (Razzmatazz) to a album with only one song that I liked (gloom divison), idk the album just sucked for me but im glad some people are enjoying it

btw i liked about half the atz album but tbh that’s really good for me because they’ve always been a group that i tend to not get noskips from just because their range is so big and like i think that’s one of their strengths so it’s actually fine that i don’t love every song

bullets revenge and bp are all nonskip albums imo. DD i have to skip summertime i'm sorry gerard love that ur in love but that song is Boring and why is it on the post-apocalyptic rebels album
you are skipping summertime and NOT the noisecore american national anthem???? call summertime boring to ray toro's fucking fac-
joking aside hehe. bullets is the only album for me that has concrete skips (best day.) but even if it didn't i think comparing bullets to revenge or tbp, even if it's your favorite? crazy. and i love bullets. it's just not at the same caliber it's laughable so when people say "bullets is their only noskip only perfect record" the Implications there unnerve the mind....

1, 2, 29!!
which artist(s) have you listened to the most lately?
been listening to a lot of nekrogoblikon lately (a silly little folk-metal band)... also plenty of PULP i guess. this r*ssian band samoe bolshoe prostoe chislo. oh really got into tamino. also kfc murder chicks
2. favourite genre(s)
im a huge -core enjoyer like i love heavy stuff but im very open minded always though yeah the favourites are metalcore, melodic hardcore, hardcore & post-hardcore (that's where the love for emo comes from as well, both proper emo from like moss icon n cap'n jazz down to u know. brand new, mcr and the like) and like grindcore mathcore etc... can't resist a -core sorry
29. what do you look for in a song or artist?
i love a noskip album like pirating music in bulks and listening to albums like that is very ingrained in me so i still listen to ALBUMS and i need for the whole album to be very listenable ... also i need lyrics + vocals to be the perfect combo though im flexible because i am VERY picky with a lot of male vocals in the metal scene and some lyricist there just suck so bad
thank u i am SORRY i run my mouth about this so much 😷

is the album bad.
soooo i have mixed feelings lol there's a few songs i really like (rsd, self sabotage, brainwashed, ritual) a few i feel like are pretty good (a night out on earth, funeral grey YES despite the cringe lyrics at least i's catchy and a fun listen unlike half trhe shit on this album never thought i'd be saying this when singles were coming out), starfucker and closer are. fine i guess. but 2best friends fuck about it and end of the water are all soo fucking bad. so kind of a mixed bag to me personally in terms of some songs i really like vs some i really hate vs past albums of theirs where it was like, MAYBE there would be a song or two i just wouldn't like very much & usually skip so definitely a let down in that regard. like gh was a noskip for me besides fruit roll ups to for it to be followed by something where i truly around half the sogns on an album that's already so short.
but as an ALBUM honestly i have to say it's Not Good just because of how incoherent and all over theplace it sounds. ik gh was widely dislikes but i loved it so i'm gonna use it as a comparison bcus gh i feel had a lot of different sounds on it without any of them seeming out of place or inconsistent like snow globe & magnetic & ice bath all had a reallydifferent sound from you'd be paranoid too & lowkey as hell & american graffiti which were different from numb & fuzzy, etc etc but the songs all felt like they belonged on one album together, none of the transitions were jarring, and it all felt like one consistent experience that just had a lot of variation to it which made it a fun listen. but ip to me doesn['t sound like an album it sounds like someone made a playlist with no regard for making sure the songs made sense together & without paying any attention to track order. like to me there's a fine line betweenvaried and messy & ip is just messy.
& the only lyrics ifeel like i've ended up liking off ip are the oens that arelike, the same themes awsten has already written about already. the hypersexual stuff it just sooo embarrassing to listen to & the whole religious trauma theme he talked about in the album descrpition i feel liike barely comes through aside from in a night out on earth & so many of the other mentions tor eligion just feel shoehorned in like. "jesus christ won't text me back"??? you don't need to put a clip from that abstince onlysex ed psa just like. make your point in the lyrics themselves lmao.
i hope this doesn't sound like i'm just being a hater because listen as cringey as it is to admit parx is one of my favorite bands i've seen them 6 times i'll be seeing them twice more this summer i will continue seeing them for as long as they tour because they put on some of the most fun shows out of anyone & i'm saying this as someonewho's been to probably 100 concerts at least. but yeah this album was a big let down. thanks for coming to my ted talk sorry about the typos i'm using the mechanical keyboard w my tablet & the space bar is a fuck

fun fact i consider this album one of those i could listen on noskip and that's because i literally walked into it. showed up to a concert in the middle of nowhere as the afterparty of a farmer's market, i liked what i was hearing when they were rehearsing and i was walking around, and stayed.
for valsalily in particular, they offered to the audience that if we wanted we could get up and dance [we were all sitting on the grass except those that had brought their own chairs] and it started dances of partners getting up and attempting to waltz around, a circle dance forming so everyone in it would tippytap with the music, the band changed the melody to keep people dancing longer, and it lit up a pair of 2 (possibly at least a little bit tipsy.) teenage girls like 17-18yo who didn't stop dancing until the end of the concert. good times.
before i finish my comic for next post can everyone listen to Valsalily real quick. thanks.
