- Before getting into a romantic relationship with Norah, it took you ages to even be considered a friend. With her naturally shy and reserved personality, you had to work hard to get to know her.
- Norah always knew when you would come to find her, and even though she claimed she didn’t care, Norah would always discreetly check if you were anywhere in her line of sight.
- After Norah opened up to you about her past and her struggles, you two were nearly inseparable. You often found yourself with Norah on the Estero Harbor, helping her with her music and swimming for hours.
- Obviously, it was you who confessed your love to Norah first. Despite her change in personality in your presence, she was still painfully shy in certain situations, confessing being one of them. But when you asked to be Norah’s girlfriend, she was nearly jumping for joy. In your years of knowing her, you don’t think you’ve ever gotten such a large reaction from her, and you two still laugh about how embarrassed she was after getting so excited.
- In the early stages of your relationship, it almost felt like she went back to being quiet and shy. Norah just didn’t want to mess anything up with you, so she often nodded her head and agreed with what you were saying.
- One thing that’s certain in your relationship is that you have to comfort her. Please make sure to be there for her, offer her small words of assurance and appreciation. Norah won’t ever admit how much she looks forward to your praises and compliments— although she doesn’t need to say anything. You can just tell.
- Due to Norah’s hearing disability, you’ll often find her without her hearing aid while she’s home alone. The first few times you noticed this, you would walk up from behind her and hug her waist to get her attention. This has earned you a few slaps across your face, and it always ended with Norah apologizing profusely and kissing your cheek softly, tears slowly forming in her eyes from the worry of upsetting you.
- You’re Norah’s only muse, and almost anything she writes circles back to her love for you. Once a month, Norah will take you to the harbor to show you her new song for you. The first few times she was going to perform for you, she ended up backing out and told you it wasn’t ready yet (she felt silly professing her love through song since she’s never really done so before).
- If you know how to braid, Norah is the perfect person to practice and learn new styles with. Norah was against it at first, since she’s never really had it pulled away from her face. With some adamant convincing, Norah let you braid her hair whenever you wanted (she felt bad saying no in the first place). The first time you styled her hair, she was shocked at how well you did so and how much she actually liked it. And it was such a shame to let such beautiful hair remain so plain at times, but her favorite is when you do elvish braids due to their intricate weavings.
- After being together for a while, Norah worked up the courage to ask you to take a bath with her. Of course, you said yes, especially since she never asked for things like this. It was almost scenic— candles flickering in the dimly lit room, soft music playing as you two undressed and got into the bath. You were fine the whole time, making small talk here and there while your arms were wrapped loosely around her waist. Meanwhile, Norah thought she was going to pass out because of how nervous she was. Even though you had seen her naked before, this felt completely different than other times, and told herself she wouldn’t do this again (she was lying to herself and asked you frequently to bathe with her).
- I feel like she would try to teach you how to play the harp. Even if you excel at it or not, she’s always there giving pointers as you pluck the strings messily. Even though you may not understand what she’s saying, Norah is as patient as they come.

⭐ Norah fun facts! ⭐
She is in fact one of those people who memorize big words and use them to seem smarter, I mean she hasn't got a lot going for her. She gets to learn more words when she learns to read better with Miss. Marmel's magic books. She really loves to learn, craves for it so much that she tries to listen in on school. (Even if most of it is anti-magic propaganda.)
It didn't occur to me until later that she likes to name everyone she sees. I wondered to myself, "why would she remember the names of the people who despise her?" But I don't want to take it away from her. Maybe it makes her feel a little more in control, I can't say for certain you'd have to ask her
EXTRA fun fact....
The wind is alive, sort of, in a way. You could say it has a spirit. Whenever it appears in the book (which is often) it's either pressing our main characters forward or trying to push them back from dangerous spots. It's a kind spirit, very fond of children.

“Hey Bob?”
Bob looked to his left, finding Natasha leaning on the doorframe to the storage room. “Yeah?”
“There’s a woman up front asking to speak to the manager.”
He stifled a groan, placing the book in his hand back in the box. “What’s the problem?”
Nat smiled, something he hadn’t expected, and shook her head a few times. “No problem,” she told him, pushing off the doorframe, and leading the way back towards the front.
Bob frowned. Last month, when the library focused on books with queer characters, several people came in to complain and a few withdrew their donations. Bob and the rest of the staff were brainstorming fundraising ideas, but they’d had little luck so far.
“So, what’s going on?” He asked, falling in step with Natasha.
“I’m not sure,” she replied. “But I don’t think it’s bad.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Well, for one, she’s smoking hot,” Jake interjected as coming into their line of view with a stack of books on naval aviation in his arms.
Natasha glared at him. “Her hotness has nothing to do with this.”
“Oh, so you agree she’s hot?” Jake argued, not even bothering to hide the grin forming on his face.
Natasha opened her mouth to argue back. “Guys,” Bob scolded, the beginnings of a headache forming at his temples. Jake and Natasha had always bickered, but his tolerance for it varied. Today he was not in the mood, especially if he was about to be yelled at by a dissatisfied patron.
Sometimes, he questioned the decision to hire his friends.
Jake followed behind them to the welcome desk where Bob expected to find an angry-looking woman tapping her food with her arms crossed.
Instead, he and his band of merry men found no one. Not a soul in sight anywhere at or near the vicinity of the desk, and neither was the man who drew the short end of the straw and was supposed to man the desk today.
“She was here when I left,” Natasha swore, looking around for the now lost woman.
“Bradshaw probably scared her off,” Jake commented, depositing the stack of books on the counter. “Wouldn’t be the first time.”
Bob reached up and massaged his temples, knocking against the frames of his glasses with every movement. He needed to hunt down the bottle of Tylenol Natasha kept in the staff room.
“If she’s not here,” Bob started, leveling Natasha with a stare. “I’m going back to sort through the new inventory.”
“Robert Floyd, don’t you dare leave,” she said, her voice clear and stern, making him stand up straighter as if his grandmother had risen from the grave just to criticize his posture. “You stay right there. I’ll find her.”
He made eye contact with Jake, who simply shrugged, as Natasha walked off to locate the mystery woman.
Bob leaned against the side of the semicircular desk while Jake hauled the stack of aviation books down onto the desk itself to run through the computer. He listened to the typing, wondering where Bradley had wandered off to. It wasn’t the first time he’d neglected his responsibilities, but it was the first time he’d lost a guest.
“What do you think it’s about?”
Jake peered up at Bob. “I don’t k–”
One of the heavy double doors opened a crack, allowing a small squeaky “help” to escape through. Bob leapt forward and pulled the door, revealing a young woman with shoulder length dark hair, smooth brown skin, and sunglasses covering her eyes.
“Thank you,” she said, her chest rising and falling while she gasped for air. She stepped forward, but her shoe caught on the doorstep, making her stumble and almost collide with Bob’s chest.
He caught her by the arm, fingertips holding onto the soft skin of her bare arms while the other remained on the door handle. “Are you alright, ma’am?”
She stood upright, sliding her sunglasses up on her head, and straightened out her dress. “I’m okay,” she told him. “But please don’t call me ma’am ever again.”
“Noted,” he replied and offered her a reassuring smile. “Anything we can help you with?”
She stepped further inside, allowing Bob to release the door. “I’m supposed to speak to the manager,” she began, glancing at the cork message board. On it was an array of flyers advertising babysitting services, information on community events, and the annual blood drive coming up next month. “A woman named Na–”
“There you are,” Natasha exclaimed as she appeared in the doorway to the right that led toward the computer room.
The woman spun on her heel. “I’m sorry. I had a missed call from my agent, and I didn’t want to disturb anyone, so I took it outside,” she explained. “I told the guy behind the desk to let you know, in case I didn’t make it back before you did.”
“Can we fire Bradshaw now?” Jake asked as he stood, leaning his forearms on the wooden surface.
“No.”
He shrugged. “Worth a shot,” he mumbled and sat back down. Bob looked at Natasha expectantly, waiting for her to make the introduction, but it didn’t come before their guest offered Bob her hand to shake.
“You must be the manager, Robert Floyd,” she said with an inviting smile.
He shook her hand, feeling a shiver run down his spine at the contact with her palm. “Bob’s fine.” He let go, flexing his fingers as the tips of his ears warmed.
“Bob,” she repeated, corners of her mouth still turned upward. “I’m Norah Lebbai. I, uh, so, my first book is about to be published, and I guess I just wanted to know if I could have the release party here.”
Bob’s eyes darted to Natasha, who leaned against the doorframe with her arms crossed in front of her. She raised a brow, but offered him an encouraging nod.
He looked back at Norah and pointed a finger at the carpeted floor. “Here?”
“Yeah,” she beamed, enthusiasm encapsulating her entire body, and her dark eyes widened with excitement. “We can make it a double event. Like my release party and a fundraiser for the library at the same time. Not that I think you need funds, but I know libraries are under-funded, especially the smaller ones, so I just thought that might work. My publisher will pay for everything to do with my event, like catering and drinks, but I could talk to them and maybe set something up, so people will donate to the lib—”
“Miss Lebbai, why don’t–”
“Norah,” she corrected him, a frown etched on her face. “My high school math teacher called me Miss Lebbai and I’m having flashbacks to crying over algebra. Repeatedly. For years.”
She shuddered and laughter bloomed Bob’s chest, but he offered her an amused smile instead. “Why don’t we go to my office to talk?”
The grin returned, and she adjusted the sunglasses on her head. “Lead the way.”

my captain
i seek a way through, but for that i have to turn around and face the path i walked down already; i have to face you.
i cup your cheek in my hand and whisper "i never got over you. you took another path and i never got the chance." you're silent. the wind is speaking more than you.
i seek a way out; i am holding you and crying for something i could have had, something i missed on my first pass through here.
it is dark now, i've continued walking. i feel your breath on the back of my neck, i see your face reflected in the puddles. i know missing you is pointless, i need a way through.

ok this isn't exactly what the prompt is saying but i love subverting expectations

"Ty! Do you have my hoodie?" Zoey shouted up the steps as she walked into the Meadows' house.
Norah walked into the entryway with a coffee mug in hand, followed by Kayla and Blair.
"Zoey, angel, it's nine in the morning," Kayla said, sending her a tired smile, "Why are you in here yelling like you have no sense?"
Zoey's face tinged pink with embarrassment. "Sorry, sorry," she said, sending her own smile. "Em and I are about to go on a hike and it might rain and I can't find my hoodie, so I came to see if Ty had it."
Blair made a disgusted noise. "Who hikes at nine in the morning? Actually, no, who hikes?"
"People who can go in the sun," Zoey replied, earning a sarcastic smile in response.
Norah took a sip from her coffee. "Why would Tyler have your hoodie, pup?"
"Because they're actually my hoodies because she's a little thief," Tyler said, walking down the steps. He had obviously just woken up, hair tossled from sleep, curls sticking up at odd angles. He had the hoodie in hand, her favorite maroon one with the thumb holes. But that wasn't what caught Zoey's eye.
He was shirtless.
It wasn't like she'd never seen him shirtless before. They grew up together, with summers and beach days and sleepovers. She was well acquainted with him being shirtless. But he'd never looked like that before.
He'd obviously been working out at school, and his abdomen was seeing the beginning of definition. His arms were muscular, toned biceps moving as he gestured at her. He looked like a boy, and but just any boy but a cute boy. A hot one even.
What the fuck?
Your heart is going crazy right now, Z.
Blair's voice in the back of her brain was teasing, like she knew something Zoey didn't.
Shut up. No it isn't.
It was a stupid response because she knew Blair – and Norah and Kayla, dear God – could hear the way her heart was going insane.
"When will you be back?" Tyler asked, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he held out the hoodie to her. His voice was rough from disuse and deeper than usual. Zoey's face went hot. "We were gonna go to the beach later."
"Um, I don't know," she said, nervous to disappoint him even more than usual for some godforsaken reason. "I'll text you when we get back."
He nodded, sending her an easy, halfawake smile. "Mmkay. Hope you have fun on your hike."
Snorting, Blair said, "She'll have sooo much fun getting all hot and sweaty, surrounded by bugs."
"Ew," Tyler said wrinkling his nose.
It shocked Zoey back to reality, and he was Tyler again, her loser best friend who made ridiculous faces.
"I'm sure the bugs think you're just as gross," she said, rolling her eyes. He scoffed. "I'm gonna go before Em thinks you guys kidnapped me."
"She should be so lucky," Blair said, making Kayla snort.
Zoey said her goodbyes, keeping her eyes away from Tyler and his torso before walking back outside to Emily's car.
As she opened the passenger door, Emily asked, "Are you good? I could hear your heart pounding from here."

ok well i had fun with my little movie <3 i fucking love a 90 minute movie! i love fucked up monsters as a metaphor for like all sorts of things… i love how norah characterized herself as a pessimist but crucially crucially she never once let go of any of her friends, and in the end she saved the two of them that were in love… and she BLEW. THAT. SHIT. UP. i love a movie that ends with an explosion of a corrupt institution seriously… the monster was both a metaphor for her grief and a metaphor for the consequences of big companies’ greed with the environment… it’s not about cynicism and it’s not about hope but it IS about love and human compassion and the drive to keep pulling your friend’s barely breathing body to safety because no chance is too small when it comes to saving his life, and then it’s about succeeding because you did everything you could and gave them a chance all while knowing you wouldn’t get the same…

definitely not human but something special and in between, nuanced and not quite defined. Something without a name, something that doesn't need a name and that's perfectly okay.
Norah <3
I ❤️ self-loathing characters, characters who struggle with monstrosity (either fearing or embracing it), characters who are so lonely, who have a gaping hole in their chest, who bottle up & repress their feelings, who claw their way up & have ambitions, who fall down & lose everything, who search for identity & purpose yet can’t see themselves outside of what others want from or expect of them, who are hurt & hurt others, who long & grieve, who lie & pretend. characters who are messy & flawed & human

For the life of me, I can't remember if I requested anything from your list of physical intimacy prompts! So here it goes: librarian!Bob and Norah + "resting your head on your partner's lap." I just adore them so! ✨
Becca, my darling, I was hoping I'd see you with a prompt for these two, and I'm so glad you're here! This AU of ours is one of my favorites, and in my totally unbiased opinion, Norah is perfect for Librarian!Bob. I hope you like this sappy lil blurb!

coming home bob floyd x oc
Norah walks through the nearly empty library, listening to the rain tapping against old windows in the high vaulted ceiling, in search of Bob.
She’s exhausted, all her limbs heavy from lack of sleep, jet lag, and a tight schedule that she’s really not made for. She couldn’t go home without seeing him first, and that’s why she told the Uber to go here instead of her apartment building.
Rounding a corner, she finds the door to Bob’s office open. Inside is the usual mess of books and trinkets. Books stacked on shelves, his desk, on both the decorative chairs Natasha bought at a flea market in the northern part of the city. There are books on the floor, and there’s even a precarious pile on top of the turtle statue Jake gave Bob as a gag gift when he turned 25.
She rests her shoulder against the doorframe, watching as Bob flips the page of an old copy of a book she can’t quite make out the title of. His glasses are halfway down his nose, and his dark blond hair looks curlier than normal–she assumes the humidity is to blame.
He looks every bit the librarian she knows him to be.
Finally, she knocks on the open door. “Hey stranger,” she says, a small smile on her lips.
He looks up, a startled expression on his face, though it quickly melts into a brilliant wide smile that still makes her stomach flip all these months later. He moves to get up, but Norah gestures for him to stay put. She pushes off the doorframe and joins him on the old lumpy couch.
“I thought we gonna meet at yours tonight,” he says, placing his bookmark and closes the book. “Where’s your suitcase?”
“I left it with Bradley out front,” she tells him, dropping her purse on a wayward pile of historical romance novels on the floor. She swings her legs over the armrest and lays her head in her boyfriend’s lap, breathing in his familiar scent of old paper and sandalwood.
“Tired?” he asks, pushing his glasses back up his nose before putting his book down on the makeshift coffee table. She hums in reply.
“Book tours are brutal,” she mumbles. Her eyelids grow heavy and start fluttering closed as Bob runs his fingers through her hair, gently massaging her scalp.
She feels his body rumble with quiet laughter. “How was New York?”
“Far away,” she whispers, already lulled half to sleep, and she can’t be sure, but his lips brush against her forehead. “Missed you.”
“I missed you, too.”

Thank you again, Rebecca! I love this little AU of ours.

Norah Thompson's life was in and of itself very simple... But that was of course before Doomsday had happened. After the attack on Yew York, it becomes all the more difficult for her as she learns about the existence of mutants, aliens, secret government organizations and hidden cities. She has to learn the hard way, that it's difficult deciding on whom to trust, whom to save and to live with the consequences.
Here is the Link to my rottmnt fanfiction! Feel free to drop a comment/question anytime! I will update the tags as the story progresses.
