run away with me
Pairing: Nor/Sarentu!Reader
Warnings: Spoilers for Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, fluff, angst, mentions of brainwashing and residential school trauma

A/N: No one has requested me to write for AFoP so I decided to take matters into my own hands *cracks knuckles* Let's get to work.
This is basically my rendition of the cutscene you see when playing the game, after the title card. I made it lean more toward the angsty, romance play that we were robbed of when the game finally came out XD Enjoy!
Part 2
When So'lek told you that Nor had left Resistance HQ to have some time to think, you knew you needed to seek him out.
Using your new abilities and talents to track him down, it didn't shock you when you found Nor on one of the highest cliffs near the base of their new home. You remember he made a comment earlier about how there were more colors on Pandora than he remembered and how he had no names for them. You suspected he'd be all the way out here, admiring those colors and maybe trying to invent new names for them.
He didn't react when you approached the small fire he made, likely expecting you to come find him. He turned to face you with lowered ears and a forlorn look in his eyes, "What must our ancestors think of us? Do you think they pity us? Sad to see what we've become?"
"We're still Sarentu."
"Teylan barely speaks our tongue, but then... he always preferred human words."
"Alma says we all need time to adjust."
"Alma is not Na'vi." He growled lowly, turning away to kneel down in front of the fire.
You weren't deterred by his attitude, knowing Nor better than you sometimes knew yourself. He felt things stronger than most. He was passionate about what or how he felt and he wasn't afraid to admit it, hence why he didn't shy away when he proudly proclaimed his feelings toward you. It was years ago now, just the night before Alma snuck you and your friends into cryosleep to wait out the war. All that time you could've been with Nor... lost to cryosleep.
Nor felt the same loss as well, and that is why he wasn't wasting any more time. When neither of you are out on missions, you're with each other, safe at HQ, making up for lost time. Your relationship is technically still new and can easily be chalked up to young love, but Nor didn't see it that way. He claimed that was the way only Sky People saw it, but not the Na'vi. He wanted to do this right, and in his mind, the only right way was the Na'vi way.
So he asked So'lek for advice, on standard Na'vi customs and what the older man might know about the Sarentu ways to court someone. Nor was determined and straightforward about what he wanted to make sure you only got the best treatment. The Na'vi treatment, something that you deserved to have when you were younger but it was taken from you.
That's what you loved about him, growing up beside him. He reminded you so much of your sister at times with their shared determination as kids, though you refused to continue making that comparison after she died... afraid that if Nor acted too much like Aha'ri, then he would die just like her. You couldn't bear to lose him, too, not after everything Mercer and TAP have done to you.
Even now, as you two stood on top of that cliff, you were afraid of losing him, either to death or to life, should life and fate decide to tear you two apart. You wished you could vocalize your fear to him, but you were never as brave or as straightforward as Nor. You were grateful he had approached you about his feelings first, or else neither of you would've ever known.
Although you were not one with words, you were one with actions, and even Nor knew that you communicated with deeds.
Walking up to him, you slide your hand over his shoulder, and while he doesn't say a word, trapped with the demons in his head, he places his own hand on top of yours, a gesture of gratitude. He was thankful for your comfort, knowing that your way of communicating stems from being touch-starved and you would rather voice your thoughts through your actions instead of just saying them because, to you, that means so much more.
You keep your hand on his shoulder, the warmth of his palm bleeding into your skin while you look up and over the cliffside, admiring the scenery with a sad tone in your voice, "Why did the RDA come back?"
"They wanted more of Pandora," he responds with defeat, "They always do."
"Then we'll need to fight," you express with determination, squeezing his shoulder, "Aha'ri would have wanted us to fight."
You try to pull away, but Nor is suddenly too fast. He grasps your hand, gently, and you pause in your movement. He stands to his full height to gaze into your eyes, trying to relay what he's thinking without saying a word. But he wasn't like you. He wasn't good at sharing his thoughts through actions. He was better at it by talking, so that is what he did.
"Or we could run," he suggests and is quick to continue when the expression on your face falls, "Leave this place. Find somewhere else to call home."
"We've talked about this, Nor," you sigh tiredly, recalling not long ago when you, him, Ri'nela and Teylan were all sitting around a fire as Nor suggested they could all run away together. You express the same thing you said back then, too, "Alma brought us here for a reason. She believes in us."
He snarls, though there isn't much heat behind it, "Alma just wants to control us."
Not even you believed what he was saying, lowering your voice to a comforting whisper, "Alma is not Mercer. She actually cares about us as People."
"She left us."
"She thought we were gone."
He steps closer until he's nearly pressed against your chest, his hands sliding up to gently grasp both sides of your face, entwined in your hair. His voice wavered, desperate eyes staring back into yours, "If it were me instead of her, I would've clawed through the rubble of TAP, and I would've looked forever. Un... until I knew for sure if I lost you or not."
You wanted to be touched by the statement, your heart fluttering in your chest while Nor could no doubt feel your heartbeat, pumping through his hands as they rested near both sides of your neck. You shake your head slightly, "That is different. What Alma feels for us is not the same as... as what you feel for me. For all of us."
He shivered, almost proud that you managed to admit your confidence in his feelings toward you. He leans his forehead against yours, breathing in the same air as you while he matches the intimate moment with a whisper, "Exactly. I can't trust Alma with my family. I can only trust myself or you to take care of the four of us, to ensure we stick together."
You wet your lips when they felt dry, deciding to play into his dream for a little bit, "Suppose we did run away... where would we go?"
'Wherever we want! All of us,' he wanted to say the same thing he told Teylan down by the campfire, but he says it differently with you, "Anywhere, far away from here."
"Just the four of us?"
"The four of us," he confirms with a nod, thinking that he had you convinced, "We'll start our own clan. We'll renew the Sarentu."
"And what will happen when the war eventually finds us?"
Your question drives Nor to freeze, and so you continue, "Either Mercer, RDA, or TAP, it won't matter. They'll find us. You know they will."
He unfroze finally, huffing with determination, "Then we will fight."
"But if we fight now, and we win, then we can leave and we will never have to worry about the Sky People again," your hands moved until they were wrapped around Nor's waist, a bold move to match his own, his fingers still wrapped up in the hair on the back of your neck,
"We would never have to keep running or look over our shoulders ever again," you continue, "If we can end this sooner than later, I will go with you. I'll go wherever you want. But... But I can't leave now knowing what the Sky People are capable of. I can't leave knowing that there would be another child out there whose clan was wiped out and I wasn't brave enough to stop it from happening. I would never forgive myself."
Your words stun him into silence, and the intensity of his gaze causes you to feel shy and embarrassed, lowering your head to avoid him until his hands pause your movement. He gently uses his thumbs to push your chin to tilt back up, and when your eyes meet, he pauses for a moment, his intense eyes scanning your expression before his lips twitch up into a small, fond smile, "Heh."
"What?" You tilt your head, hesitant but smiling as well.
"Nothing. It's just... Aha'ri would be proud of you."
He says it so confidently that you know you believe him, and his words make your heart swell with pride and grief, missing your sister. Nor leans back and digs in the pocket of his pants, "I have something for you."
"What is it?"
He provides a carved stone, bearing the mark you both have on your face to signify your long-lost clan, "It's something to remind you of me, whenever you leave HQ and I cannot follow you. It's also a promise."
"What promise?"
"That if I ever leave, it will only be when you are ready to come with me," he leans back into your space, pressing your foreheads together once more as he closes his eyes, taking in your scent, "This time, my love, I go wherever you go."
You clutch the stone in your hand, wanting the carved mark to brand into your skin as you close your eyes as well. You already plan to tie Nor's stone into the songcord So'lek had given you, and you hope that in time, the songcord will grow, and there will be many more milestones to signify. Milestones that you hope that Nor and your friends will share with you, as Sarentu and as your family.

Any Na’vi words or phrases I use, the English translation will be right next to it, if not then it will be at the end of the fic!

“It's our world, it's lost…dying, because we didn't fight for it when we had a chance. Now we’re fighting for yours. We’re going to make a difference here. Together.” Priya passionately declared as she looked at you sincerely. Then her eyes widened as she remembered something, “Oh! So’lek was hoping to catch you too. Promised him I wouldn't forget. Tell him I didn’t forget !”
You giggled at how cute and bubbly Priya was, out of all the humans here at the resistance base, you liked her cheerful mannerisms a lot. You could tell that she would be a wonderful friend to have. You nodded and thanked her before you head over to find So’lek.
As you slowly walked through the base, your mind had shifted to the recent events that occurred while you and the others were at the TAP facility a day ago. The reason for the shift being a certain resistance Na’vi.
Oel ngati kameie. I see you.
Those were the first words you heard from him when you woke up after the cryo sleep. Even with all the chaos that was going on at the time, you couldn’t help but feel drawn to the Na’vi who seemed to be very straight-forward, blunt and yet understanding of the situation that you and the rest of the Sarentu had faced.
So’lek, he said, was his name (‘what a lovely name’ you had thought) when you asked him while on the run from the RDA, one of the last remaining survivors of his clan. Although, everytime you think of that memory, alone and running from the RDA, you remember the fear of being separated from everyone and wondering if they were safe. After what happened to Aha’ri, you couldn’t stand anyone else being hurt. But So’lek’s voice kept you moving forward and when one of the RDA in the AMP suit caught you, holding you down as that horrible man, Mercer looked down on you, comparing you to your sister, the only thing you wished and hoped for was that So’lek would keep the Sarentu trio safe, as you almost gave up, He came out of nowhere, shooting at the RDA to save you and told you to run.
When you finally got out of the TAP facility, Pandora was nothing like what Mercer or the TAP said it was. They said that it was a terrifying, vicious, and cruel world. However, to your eyes, It was beautiful, the bright sun, the sounds of the creatures and water of the forest. It was like a new world and you couldn’t believe that you spent so long without it all.
As you walked forward, finding So’lek and the others immediately became a priority, when you finally found So’lek, he was hurt, the concern in you washed over like a wave in your chest, he must have gotten injured while protecting you. You knew at that moment that you wanted to protect him as well, taking his bow and using your Na’vi sense that So'lek told you about, made you realize how much you missed out on life, then getting the dapophet plant to heal him and fighting the RDA, gave you a feeling like no other, it made you feel that you can help, that you can be a protector as well.
However, It was when So’lek asked about your songchord, that made your heart flutter. You can still remember the conversation even though it hadn’t been that long.
“You have no songchord.” So’lek said as he got up after repositioning his shoulder, noticing that the Sarentu he seemed to run into a lot was missing a songchord. There was just something different about her, she seemed very caring and yet so strong in spirit, as he could tell as they were on the run from the RDA. “We had my mother’s, but they stole it” Your voice cracked as you said it, the pain of losing both your sister and the songchord, the only piece of your mother left still hurts you to this day.
Hearing that, So’lek felt anger and resentment flare up in his chest. Not only did they kidnap the Sarentu children, kill his clan and hurt the lands of Pandora, they had the audacity to steal something precious from a child as well. He could not explain the feeling in his chest, he wanted to do something for the Sarentu. “Then we must change that” his voice seemed to soften as he said the words and as he questioned, “What is your name Sarentu ?”.
Hearing his voice being gentle brought heat to your cheeks, and more flutterings in your chest, a feeling of happiness seemed to spread through you, “Y/N, my name is Y/N” you looked at him as your name rolled out your mouth in a hurry. Hearing it, So’lek lips curved up a tiny bit, his smile although small was gentle.
The rest went on with him making sure you understood that you must find your own way as you are a Na’vi and by doing so on your own was the way you can learn and then he finally asked you to join the resistance, hearing how he talked about the resistance made you understand why he was in it and you wanted to join them to help other Na’vi, to help save Pandora. After reaching the resistance base and meeting many new human faces, it was a breath of fresh air, they seemed so kind and you could tell that they were sincere in their welcoming and the work that they do here. The only person you still felt a bit weird with was Alma, but you discarded it as it was probably a long time of not seeing each other. She must have felt that she lost all of you after putting you all to cyro sleep.
Seeing the rest of the Sarentu trio free was another happiness that you could not describe, as you saw them as your family. With you being the second to last youngest, you looked up to Ri’nela and Nor a lot, you tried to be there for them as much as possible, to be listening ear or someone they could find comfort in, especially Nor, as he lost his best friend, your big sister. He was the only one that would rebel at the facility, trying to follow Aha’ri’s footsteps. Ri’nela, she became a big sister to you, but was always worried about what would happen if things didn’t go the way TAP wanted. Then there was the youngest, Teylan, he was like a little brother you never had, he would always hold onto your shirt when he felt overwhelmed and sometimes at night when he felt no one would notice, he would sneak into your bed and cuddle wanting to escape whatever nightmares would plague him. It was why you made a very simple doll out of one of the old clothes you had, you gave it to him saying that at times if he couldn’t see you, that he can always hold on to it to know that you’ll always be there for him. The day you gave him that, he hugged you so tightly, he didn’t let go for a long time. But it worried you how much he seemed to praise and think about Mercer.
Then you were given your first mission, take down one of the RDA facilities near the base which was polluting the land, Pneumatic Tower Echo. It felt overwhelming at first but after seeing how the land, your land, the land of Pandora, was ruined because of the RDA, a determination had stirred up in you. It was what made you destroy the RDA facility as soon as possible. In wonder you had seen Eywa had worked in mysterious ways, the land rejuvenated after the facility was destroyed, with creatures from the forest returning to the land, the flora coming back to life. Teylan called you through the radio in worry after hearing the bang, he and the others were at a flower they found. He wanted you to be there with the others so you could check it out, you had hurried over to the group, slowing down as you and the others came closer to the flower, Ri’nela had gasped in wonder, saying how that it was the flower that opens only for the Sarentu, to connect to Eywa, a Tarsyu. You had looked at it in awe, as you could only barely remember seeing the flower when you were a toddler. Finally, pulling your kuru forward, you connected to Eywa and met your ancestor Entu, the first Toruk Makto, with your will renewed, your heart became content and excited at the prospect of learning more and more about what it means to be a Sarentu.
You stopped reminiscing as you finally headed over to the armory where So’lek was at, looking over his gun. For some reason you didn’t think twice when Priya told you that So’lek was looking for you, your feet seemed to have a mind of their own. So’lek ears turned to your direction as he heard your footsteps approach him, he looked up and his lips curved up automatically, he looked proud as he said, “You did well out there”. You felt happy at his words, that you had helped the resistance in some way. As you looked over at him, you felt curious about the weapon in his hand. “Did the humans teach you their weapons too ?” you asked.
So’lek’s eyes became dull at those words, a resentment growing in his chest as his thoughts went to his clan, from when he could last remember them. You wanted to take back the words immediately, not wanting to see his eyes fill with such emptiness ever again. “No, I saw the RDA butcher my clan. Their bullets slicing them to shreds. That was my lesson.” he explained, his voice low and tense as he continued, “I know how it feels to be among the last of your people. The humans…they are like their guns. Brought here to cause pain.”
You took in his words and you honestly agreed to what he exclaimed. Guns and those strange machines just brought more destruction to Pandora, especially the humans who operated them. But you were confused as well, were the humans here at the resistance base not RDA once ? Voicing this concern of yours, he firmly replied in a hurry, “and I will not make it easy for them to forget. They are our allies now, yes. But, this is not their war. They fight for the ghost of their home world. But we fight for our home.” His words made you think about your time spent at TAP. Although the program was to ensure a healthy relation between humans and Na’vi, it never felt like that. It felt like that evil man had won, “In the end, Mercer got what he wanted, he made us into soldiers.” Your hands clenched tightly at your sides, your tail swishing, agitated and just saying it made you frustrated.
So’lek looked at the Sarentu thoughtfully, he could understand her frustration, her pain and sorrow, he could see how much she wanted to change the way things were and he felt like he wanted to help guide her on her journey, to be her helping hand, he could not explain these emotions well. So he advised her, “You are not what they made you. You are Na’vi. You will learn what that means in time. Starting with this,” he pulled something from the back of his gear, it was a songchord, “I made it for you” he passed the songchord to you, looking at it, you could feel the crack in your heart when they had stole your mother’s songchord from you lessen. You held it in your hands gently, as if it was the most precious thing in the world, which probably was as this was the first time someone, other than your sister and mother, ever made anything for you.
“My own songchord, like my mother’s…” you gently noted.
“All Na’vi wear one. It is your life’s journey for the world to see. For you to remember” He explained the significance of the songchords to you.
“Her’s had more beads on it” you exclaimed in a low tone, trying to remember what it looked like when you last saw it, before Mercer had taken it right out of your hands. You tied the songchord that So’lek had given you on your wrist and examined it carefully, noticing a bead on, your eyes looked at him curiously.
“Each bead is a moment of great importance to the wearer. I have put one in place to commemorate your first steps to freedom. Build on it. Build your own memories. Each one, a new song in your heart.” So’lek explained, noting the soft and gentle look grace the Sarentu’s face. This expression was something he hoped to see, to brighten whatever dark clouds that had been swirling in her mind.
You looked at him, hoping to convey your will to him, “I hope we can. Ri’nela really wants to try. To know what it means to be Sarentu. But at the Tarsyu…Nor seemed confused. Upset.” Thinking about it, after your sister's death, Nor took it hard and felt that it was his own fault for her death, that he did not try harder. He always used to listen closely to Aha’ri with you when she would hum the songs or tell stories of the Sarentu.
“Eywa shows us who we are. And who we can be. But she also reminds us of what has been lost. For your people, that is a heavy burden” So’lek said somberly. He then picked up his gun and started inspecting it again. “The back exit is not so exposed, he may be there.” Noting the worry on your face for Nor, he stated. You nodded with a smile at him, you were about to turn and leave when you remembered, “So’lek,” he turned his head to your voice, a slight shiver crawled up his spine at the gentle caress in the way you said his name, he could see your expression and he felt shocked at the way your eyes looked him in gratefulness. “Irayo So’lek. Thank you so much. For saving me and the others. For giving me strength. For making this songchord and the bead, I will treasure it always and I hope that I can show you my journey through it.”
You turned to leave, feeling the heat rush back to your cheeks at the honest words you blurted out to him, your feelings all over the place. However, before you left, you heard him whisper to you, so that only you would hear, “Be safe.” You felt your heart skip a beat as you nodded to him and rushed out of the base in order to search for Nor.
So’lek did not expect the Sarentu to say such heart-felt words, he had to cover his face because it felt slightly heated. He did not understand what he was feeling, as he did not feel the same with the other Sarentu trio as he did with her. Maybe it was her honest and caring nature that made him feel flustered. For now though, he decided to ignore those feelings. He needed to focus on gathering intel about those who killed his clan and defeating the RDA.
Little did either of them know, that in the future that he would not be able to ignore his feelings and that there would be a bead that represents them on her songchord.

A Warriors beating heart
A/N: hey guys here's a little something nor is def one of my favorites and i think there not enough fics of him so hope you enjoy. pairing: Nor x fem!Sarentu reader
The warrior had disappeared from resistance , confused by anger working with the same kind that once massacred their clan. “What must our ancestors think of us? Do you think they pity us?….. sad to see what we’ve become.” He spoke facing out to the landscape, sharpening his spear as he sat surrounded by the bio luminescent forest. “ We are still Sarentu “ (Y/N) answered crouching next to him, squeezing his shoulder. "Teylan barely speaks our tongue, …. but then he always preferred human words.” Nor looked up, with a deep sadness in his eyes. It became clear that Sarentu was struggling to come to terms with the fact that his life was still so reliant on humans.
“Alma says we all need time to adjust.” She countered, "Alma is not Na’vi. " The warrior snapped back angrily. She sighed softly, “ Why did the RDA come back?” Nor paused his sharpening efforts, he could have sworn there was a hint of a defeat in her eyes. "They wanted more of Pandora.. They always do." he said softly. “Then we'll need to fight.” A small smile formed on his face. He tossed his knife up and down.* "Fight we will, Ahari would have wanted us to fight." “We’ll make sure the vrrtep don’t return again “
Nor was clearly comforted by this, with a new light sparking in his eyes as he nodded.
She gently grabbed his hand brushing her fingers across his knuckles . Nor was taken aback, but the expression on his face softened as his hand twined inside hers. She stayed silent simply caressing his knuckles There was a long moment of silence, before finally the Sarentu warrior wrapped her in his arms in a tight embrace.
She nuzzled into him tucking her head underneath his chin
Nor held her tightly, resting his chin on the top of her head. His grip was tight, however his hold on her was not harsh but soft. The warrior squeezed his eyes closed, not wanting to let go.
Now that they were free he could move on with his promise they could finally bond and become mates. Nor breathed in deeply, feeling every inch of her body pressed against his. He had been waiting a long time for this moment. The long hours of hiding, surviving and suffering were all worth it if only he had her by his side. He wrapped his arms even tighter around her.
He didn't want to let go, He looked down at her and smiled, he finally felt like he had a purpose. His voice was quiet as he brushed his lips against her forehead "(Y/N)..."
She looked up at him
His expression was filled with love, as he brought his hands up to her face, lightly caressing her cheeks with his fingers.
"Ma yawntu"
Nor chuckled . He leaned in and pressed his forehead against hers. There was a long pause before the Sarentu finally asked the all important question he had been waiting for the right moment to ask. "Will you be my mate...?"
~ Weeks later ~
Over the weeks the Sarentu had been working with the resistance and Na’vi clans to fight back the RDA Nor had been training with So’lek and she had been learning from the Aranahe healers at the moment it was one of a calm day both of them had no training or missions.
A warm summer rain pounded against the small hut Nor built for them not far from the resistance base camp . He had his back turned to the door, working on sharpening a new spear.
The smell of cooked meat was in the air, and he took a deep breath, savoring the aromas. She was cooking a recent kill he had made. A warm hand pressed against his back and Nor looked up, a smile stretching across his lips when he saw a (Y/N) leaning in the doorway. "Come Take a break and eat " she reminded
He quickly put the spear down and stepped over, wrapping her in his arms and carefully caressed her sides. "I cannot believe this is real." He gently placed his hand on her hip.
She sighed softly kissing his cheek " it is real my tiyanw" His other hand rose and he gently brushed aside her hair. She nuzzled him Nor leaned over and pressed his lips to hers for a fleeting moment, a smile on his face as he lifted her up in his arms. "My woman is all I need in this world."
“You are sweet but don't think you're distracting me, I'm serious, take a break and come eat Nor” she scolded "All right, all right." He chuckled softly before stepping over and sitting down next to their meal, grabbing a piece of meat and a large spoonful of vegetables, taking a bite. She sat happily next to him eating her own meal As they ate in silence a loud clap of thunder jolted the hut, making the table rattle. Within seconds, the rains were pouring down. It was as if the sky were unleashing its pent-up fury now that the warm season was finally here. Nor sat upright with his ears perked, taking in the sound of the heavy rain. (Y/N) ears were folded back
He quickly reached over and placed a protective arm around his mate as she sat cowering. "Shh, shh, my love. There is nothing to fear. It is just a little rain." "Sorry..." she whispered out "It is okay, you have nothing to be afraid of anymore." He held her close, letting her wrap her arms around his neck.
"I am here, and I will always protect you." He said softly as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"It sounds like gunshots" she whispered out
"What did you say?" He asked in a confused voice as he sat up, holding her close and wrapping his arms around her."The thunder is sounds like gunshots " she repeated
The warrior froze once he realized what she meant. The sound of thunder had no doubt brought back vivid memories of the massacre all those years ago. "Ssh," he whispered.
"It is just a storm."
Nor felt her heart beat rapidly against his chest as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Just close your eyes and listen to the rain , let that be your only worry right now."
"I-k-know. I know." Her breathing was fast and shallow as she struggled to keep from trembling.
The warrior's strong arm held her close, holding her tight. He brought her body even closer as he stroked her hair and placed his palm firmly on the top of the slight swell of her stomach. "Ssh, all will be alright, my love."

i named the protag haway! it means lullaby, and i figured the name would be perfect because the sarentu are nomadic storytellers (thus their voices r immensely important in sharing their experiences). the voices given to the player are very melodic imho so i thought it fit 🤭
here’s a lil sneak peek at what to expect!
— tawtute (human).
SYNOPSIS:
the remaining sarentu gather around the fire for the first time since leaving tap, their blood rushing as they recount the wonders of the pandora that was withheld from them.
but the gaggle isn’t alone, it seems — the four of them sneak confused glances at each other at the sounds of someone interjecting in a sweet voice… but the conversation continues as scripted, no matter how much they struggle.
once you log out, the three jump at the opportunity to interrogate haway. they didn’t seem surprised at the voice, so why is that? what is going on?
their explanation and what it implies leave the remaining three at a loss. how lovely you sound… they’ll stop at nothing to bring you to them, your otherwordly tawtute status be damned.
even if your presence drives them to each other’s throats.
— i might delegate so’lek and eetu to part 2… six na’vi is a lot to write for a first part. maybe i’ll write etuwa and nesim too? with a special guest, perhaps! i’ll keep yall posted lollll
#/ yowls#tell me what u guys think!! is this a yay or nay?#im gonna write it anyway but im curious to hear yalls opinions ☺️ my inbox is open to any and all commentary!#jus be respectful and courteous pleaseee~#avatar#avatar frontiers of pandora#afop fanfic#afop sarentu#frontiers of pandora x reader#sarentu x reader#eetu x reader#solek x reader#rinela x reader#teylan x reader#teylan#the sarentu#eetu frontiers of pandora#solek frontiers of pandora#rinela frontiers of pandora#teylan frontiers of pandora#the sarentu frontiers of pandora#nor frontiers of pandora#afop nor#nor x reader#yandere frontiers of pandora#yandere#yandere avatar#man… so many tags

A Flickered Flame of Sarentu
Something Dear
Summary: Ah’so gets something taken from her, Nor and the other comfort her, now a chance to get it back comes up and Nor try’s to do the impossible
A/n: angst, comfort, Mercer being a bitch, fluff moments, red dividers not mine
Bold - Speaking in na’vi
Word index:
Sa’nok - Mother
Years ago na’vi children in the western frontier were taken from there clan by humans, they soon began there training in TAP.
The children were raised and trained like they were humans, but that unfortunately made them start to forget their na’vi heritage, but they still hold the things they barely remember dearly.
A na’vi girl named Ah’so keeps a tiny wooden angtsìk that was carved with the help of her mother, the only thing she has left.
She takes it everywhere but try’s not to let it be seen by the humans especially John Mercer, the man that is the cause of the children being there. He just wants them to be formed to soldiers to fight against there own people if necessary.
———————————————————————
Currently the children are in the cafeteria eating there dinner after a long day of learning again.
Ah’so is looking down at the table playing with her little wooden toy completely in her own world of thought.
She thought how the creature that her wooden toy was supposed to be would be like up close, she was fascinated with creature even though she hardly knew anything about it, only how it looked.
She also thought about the dreams, that were more like nightmares, that had her mother in it. Ah’so hardly remembers her family but she often has dreams about some kind of memory. A memory about her watching her toy being carved and the sweet, comforting voice of her mother.
The memory dose not show her face, only her hands. Hands that use to hold her and make her feel safe, and carved the small toy creature made of wood.
Mercer says that her mother abandoned her like everyone else’s family’s but she doesn’t believe that, she refuses to believe that. How could a kind, comforting, caring mother abandon her child?
Ah’so continued to play quietly with a small smile on her face as Mercer and two soldiers walked in and the children stopped whatever they were doing and faced them for a moment before looking at another direction, not wanting to look at the man they did not like.
Mercer walked over but not as close to the tables they were sitting at, he would do this to make sure that everyone wasn’t doing anything he didn’t allow.
Ah’so immediately stoped playing with her toy and tried to hide it by covering it with her hand but unfortunately Mercer saw it and walked over to her.
“Ah’so, your not allowed to have that piece of wood outside your bunk” he said as Ah’so held the carving tightly not saying a word.
“You know the rules, yet you disobey them” he sighed then held out his hand unfortunately of her “give it to me, now” he said in a stern tone.
Aho’so looked down at his hand, she didn’t want to give up the only thing she has. She held her toy even tighter, Mercer didn’t like that.
“Listen Ah’so, give it now, I am not asking” he definitely did not have the time for this. The other children just watched, they couldn’t do anything cause they knew it would only make things worse.
Aha’ri tho wanted to lash out but her younger sibling wouldn’t allow it so she just stayed put glaring at Mercer.
Nor definitely wanted to lash out at Mercer as much as Aha’ri did, he like everyone else knows that Ah’so’s carved toy was dear to her, he had a strong bond with her so he always felt the need to help, protect, and comfort her.
At a time like this he wanted to defend her but the glances he got from the other kids basically told him not to, it would only make things worse.
Mercer was getting frustrated with this “Ah’so, do as I say, now!” He yelled and that made her flinch. Ah’so didn’t want to suffer Mercer’s wrath but also didn’t want to listen and give her most beloved thing.
She slowly and shakily loosened her hold on the carving and extended her arm a little in hesitation, it seemed that she was gonna surrender the craving but it also seemed like she wasn’t.
Mercer grabbed her hand and tried to forcefully take the craving but she tried to pull her arm away from him and hold onto it as best as she could but Mercer unfortunately managed to rip it out of her hand.
Ah’so gasped slightly and reached out a little to her toy but knew that there’s not way she was gonna get it back. “You try and disobey me again, I will not hesitate to do something you won’t like” Mercer threatened. Aho’so had a sad and scared look on her face, on the verge of tears.
Mercer gave the children one finally glare before he and the shoulders left. When they did Ah’so started to sniffle and soon sob, Nor immediately put a hand on her shoulder then caressed her back.
“It’s ok, it’s ok Ah’so” he said softly as Aha’ri and Ri’nela went over and tried to comfort her too. Ah’so kept on crying and tried to wipe as many tears from her eyes “I..I want it back” she sobbed. Nor held her hand gently “I’m sorry, I don’t know if there’s a chance”. Nor wanted to say yes, that they could get it back but when he thought about it there was no way they could.
“Look, even if there’s no way we can get it back now, that doesn’t mean that you won’t see it again” Aha’ri said trying to make her have hope “I’m sure you’ll see it again and maybe that’s when we can try and get it back”.
Ah’so looked at her friend and sniffled some more before wiping some tears on her face “ok, I can wait for that day” she said with a small smile but hints of sadness in her voice. Aha’ri smiled “good, just have hope, that’s one thing Mercer can’t take away from us”.
———————————————————————
It was night and everyone was in there bunks laying down ready for bed. Ah’so wasn’t sure if she was gonna sleep well tonight without her angtsìk toy but she had to try. “Sleep well, Ah’so” Nor said from on top of his bunk “you too” Ah’so replied.
She took a breath and closed her eyes to let the calm feeling of sleep take over. Ah’so eventually fell asleep at some point.
During the quiet tie of sleep Ah’so had the dream again, her mothers arms, her sweet voice, her wooden angtsìk toy.
Her mother was singing some kind of lullaby, she could only make out it tune and some of the words. Everything seemed peaceful in the dream until it twisted like it has so many times before.
She could hear her mothers screams and could only see fire, and the angtsìk carving broke and burned in the flames, that part was not in her nightmares before, but something else being added in her nightmares was common.
“Sa’nok!” Ah’so screamed out and sat up when she awoke, tears flooded her eyes and went down her cheeks. Her scream woke up the other children, Nor climbed down from his bunk and went beside her.
He took her hand to let her know that he’s there “I’m here Ah’so, I’m here” he spoke in na’vi. Nor brushed his thumb over her hand and wiped her tears using his other hand.
She continued crying as some of the others were near to comfort her “did you have that nightmare again?” Nor asked.
Ah’so turned to face him slight and nodded “yeah” she sniffled “and I saw my carving broken, and burning”.
“Your craving is ok, I’m sure Mercer hasn’t done anything to it” Nor gently squeezed to her hand to give her reassurance. “But what if he has?” Teylan asked, not wanting to seem negative but the question did make Ah’so worry.
“Teylan!” Nor hissed at him “don’t make her worry!” he glared at him. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to worry her” Teylan frowned. “We know you didn’t mean it” Aha’ri said trying to ease the tension.
Nor sighed “Ah’so, I promise you, if there’s a chance, I will get your carving back” Ah’so looked at him with a tint of hope in her eyes “thank you, Nor” she gave him a nod with a small smile.
“Now get back to sleep, I’m sure you won’t have another nightmare” Nor moved from her bunk but still holding her hand. Aho’so laid down, she and Nor slowly let go of the other’s hand. Nor gave her a soft smile and climbed back into his bunk and the other got back onto there bunks. “Good night” Nor said before laying down and everyone started to fall asleep.
Ah’so didn’t have another nightmare that night and slept peacefully. Everything was quiet and peaceful until it was morning and everyone had to wake up for another day of learning.
_________________________________________
The children were in the classroom continuing the same lesson they had yesterday which was about how the kids were gonna do there ambassador job for good and how they were gonna do it, the usual.
Ah’so was looking down at her hands with a sad look on her face, she wasn’t paying attention at all.
Alma noticed and weak led over to her “Ah’so, what’s wrong?” She asked. The question made her look up at the avatar “Mercer took my carving” she mumbled looking down a again.
“Oh, why did he?” Alma kneeled down to be face to face with her. “I had it in the cafeteria” she replied still looking down.
Alma sighed “I’m sorry that happened” then Nor spoke up “isn’t there something you can Alma?”. Alma turned to him and shook her head “I can’t, there’s nothing I can do”.
Nor frowned and balled up his fists of course Alma couldn’t do anything, she never helps them from Mercer’s abusive actions.
Ah’so sighed in disappointment “I’m sure everything’s gonna be ok” Alma said patting her on the shoulder gently with a small smile.
Ah’so wasn’t really so sure about it tho.
_________________________________________
After a pretty long day everyone was heading back to there bunks.
While walking back Nor noticed Mercer talking to Harding but something caught his eye, it was Ah’so’s carving on a table behind them.
Nor saw this as some kind of chance, he could get into the room and just sneak behind the two humans when they weren’t looking.
But he exactly didn’t have experience so there’s a chance he might fail and get caught, then he would have to go face a horrible punishment.
Nor was willing to try anyway, for Ah’so. He was gonna need some help too, he tapped Aha’ri’s shoulder and she turned to face him “what’s wrong?” She asked.
Nor pointed to the table where the carving was, Aha’ri looked over and looked back at Nor “Ah’so’s carving” she whispered. “We can get it back” Nor whispered “I just need to sneak in quietly, I need you to keep an eye on Mercer and Harding to make sure they don’t see me”.
“You sure you don’t need me to come in with you?” Aha’ri asked “I’m sure, if I get seen you make a run for it, I don’t want you to get punished” Nor replied. “I’m not gonna let you get punished, whether you get seen or not” Aha’ri said and Nor sighed “ok, come on, and let’s hurry”.
The two quickly made there way near the entrance of the room, it was on the side so Mercer and Harding wouldn’t see them. Nor peaked a little and saw the two humans still talking. “I’m going in” he whispered and Aha’ri nodded.
Nor crouched down and slowly walked in the room, he glanced at Mercer and Harding for a moment before moving towards the table. He gotten closer and closer until finally he went underneath it.
He looked over at Aha’ri looking at him from the entrance. Aha’ri glanced at Mercer and Harding, they were still talking and didn’t see them.
She gave him a slight nod to let him know everything was fine and he could make his move. Nor gave a slight nod back and slowly moved from under the table to get up slowly.
He was still crouching but was tall enough to reach the top of the table to grab the carving. Nor started to reach his arm over, but he did it slowly while glancing up a little make sure the two humans didn’t turn around or didn’t hear him.
He was so close to taking the carving but his ears twitched as he heard one of the humans move
He looked with worry in his eyes, it was Mercer, thankfully he didn’t turn around but it seemed that he might. Nor just stared frozen in place, Aha’ri watched anxiously ready to move in if needed.
A slight moment went by and Mercer and Harding went back to talking, none of them turned around or noticed the presence of the young na’vi boy in the room.
Nor silently sighed in relived and moved his arm again, this time a little faster. I’m a swift move he grabbed the wooden carving. He immediately went underneath the table again holding the carving he had in his hand tightly. Aha’ri felt relived and smiled slightly.
He know had to get out of there, he looked at Mercer and Harding one final time until he silently made his way back to the entrance.
Aha’ri put a hand on his shoulder “you made it” she whispers with a smile. “I did it” Nor smiled too “now let’s get back to the others” he said and the two stood up and quickly made there way to the bunks.
No one was in the halls at the moment which was good, which meant they wouldn’t get in trouble and no one will know what they just did.
Meanwhile the others at the bunks worried and wondered where Nor and Aha’ri were when they noticed they weren’t with them by the time they got to the bunks.
“What do you think happened?” Ah’so asked pacing around the room in worry “how did we not notice them gone earlier?” Teylan frowned. “Do you think Mercer found them?” Aha’ri’s younger sibling asked “he might be doing something to them by now”.
“I’m sure there fine, they’ll be back” Ri’nela said trying to calm everyone down. Ah’so leaned back on wall “what if something happened to them? Are they ok? Are they hurt?” She mumbled to herself.
Everyone else was thinking the worse and some mumbled to themselves a little.
This silence of worry continued on until the door opened revealing Nor and Aha’ri. The kiss looked in surprised “Nor! Aha’ri!” Teylan exclaimed.
“Your ok!” Ah’so gasped in relief “of course we are” Aha’ri smiled “where did you two go?” Aha’ri’s sibling asked walking up to her “we went to get something” Aha’ri replied giving her sibling a calm smile to put them at ease.
“Get what?” Teylan asked tilting his head, Nor turned to Ah’so and revealed the wooden carving. Ah’so gasped along with the other children “my carving!” She went up to him “how did you get it?” She asked.
“Mercer and Harding were talking and your carving was on a table, they were distracted so I snuck in while Aha’ri kept watch, I got it without either of them turning around or glancing over” Nor explained with a smile. Ah’so looked at him with thankful eyes, looking like she was about to cry from joy.
The na’vi girl gently took her wooden toy from the boys hands and examined it, beginning to smile a little.
“There was a close call but nothing that serious, but thank eywa I-” Nor was cut off but Ah’so hugging him tightly “thank you” she said in a hushed tone “thank you, thank you, thank, thank you!” some tears of joy started to develop and Nor hugged back “your welcome”.
Ah’so gave him one final squeeze before letting go slowly, giving him a smile, some tear stains on her face. Nor smiled back.
Ah’so looked over at Aha’ri and walked over to her to give her a tight hug that she was grateful to return.
Ah’so gave her one final squeeze just like with Nor and let go slowly. “Thank you, Aha’ri” she smiled “your welcome Ah’so” Aha’ri patted her arm smiling back.
Ah’so looked back at Nor, the two smiled at each other warmly.
The warmth feeling of the smile felt like the fond embrace of a flickered flame.

“Quiet”
So’lek x Na’vi!reader
GN reader. No use of Y/N. Read in the second person
Translations:
Yawne - beloved / loved one
Ma’yawntu - my beloved / my loved one
Nìhona - endearingly sweet
It was a calm day, a rare occasion. You were usually always busy, taking down RDA facilities, hunting, helping out the Aranahe hometree, helping the humans and na’vi back at resistance base. You never got a moment of peace and perhaps it helped because you had no idea what to do with yourself now that no one was asking for you. You had first gone to Priya, who always had something to ask or an idea to share, however the purple haired woman smiled sweetly and shook her head “Nothing today! Go and relax!” and dismissed you. You visited a few more people, along with your siblings who had woken up from the cryo sleep with you. You asked Nor if he wanted to practice his bow and arrow skills with you, however he shrugged and told you “I have to leave soon yawne.” You then asked Teylan, who usually asked you to gather more human computer bits or to teach him. Teylan placed a hand on your arm briefly, “Why don’t you relax today? You’re always working.” You got the same from Ri’nela.
At the end, you’d given up, and left HQ. You greeted your Ikran, coo’ing her name “Hello, my gorgeous.” You adored your ikran, and she felt the same. You two were bonded for life, after all. When she’d chosen you, you felt nothing but lucky. You pet her head, scratching all the right places before pressing a swift kiss to the heart on her nose. It was your favorite part of her pattern, the fact she had a little heart, it was almost irresistible to place a kiss there. “Sarentu.” A familiar voice called, making you turn. You were face to face with So’lek, and you couldn’t help but smile slightly. You two had become close after he’d saved you from Mercer. He started to come with you on hunts and missions more often. Once he told you that you should experience the forest yourself, the fails and the successes. To realize the dangers. However now he came with you whenever he could, it was nice but you were unsure why he did. Perhaps he thought you were ready, comfortable in the forest.
“I have a name.” You told him with a chuckle. He just smirked, and crossed his arms as he looked at your Ikran, and then you once more. “You look bored.” He ignored your previous statement and stepped closer. You nodded, sighing as you turned back to your Ikran as she nuzzled her nose into your hand “No one has anything for me. I am tempted to ask the Aranahe, but I have a feeling they won’t have anything either. Today feels…” you paused, thinking of the right word to use. So’lek simply listened, waiting for you to keep speaking, observing you with his diligent eyes. You finally settled on a word, “quiet.”
So’lek hummed in response “it’s good to have.. quiet days. You work yourself down to the bone. Though it’s admirable,” he offered a gentle smile before continuing “you should remember to take care of yourself.” You shrugged once more and returned your gaze to your Ikran, who was nudging at the pack against your waist filled with treats for them. It drew out a soft chuckle and you pulled out a smaller bag, and let her eat the sticky sweet honey combs from it. He stood in silence with you, and you spoke after your Ikran had finished her small treat “I just don’t know what to do with myself. I’m always busy, this feels wrong.” You laughed at yourself airily and looked over at So’lek.
“I have something to show you.” So’lek suddenly said, after a moment of pondering. You furrowed your brows in confusion but nodded, following him as he walked away. He lead you through the meadow and river next to HQ, climbed part of the mountain with you and settled at the top of it. The grass moved like water, the multicolored plants beautiful in day just as they are in night. They sang to you words of home, serenity. Peace. So’lek looked at you, watched your expression shift and change into something soft, and sweet. He would never say aloud that this was one of his favorite expressions of yours. The only one to know that would be him, and him alone.
He gently guided you to sit down underneath the singular tree near you, it’s branches swaying with the wind as if in a never ending dance. As you lived on Pandora you learned how to pay attention to the small things in nature. Just as you noticed So’lek had scooted closer to you as he spoke “sit with me here for a while. Admire everything around you. It’s good for your health, or so the humans say.” You chuckled with him, and nodded as you pulled your legs into a loose criss cross style. So’lek stretched his legs out in-front of him and leaned in slightly closer to you, it almost made you want to lean into him completely. You almost did, but you had talked yourself out of it anyways.
You admired the world with him. You took note of the changing colors across the plane, listened to the sound of the waterfall crashing below you. Ikran and other animals flew through the sky with such grace you almost wished you could do so, perhaps you would see all there was to see if you could fly. Being on the ground wasn’t so bad though you thought, as he shifted closer, arm resting closer, his fingertips ghosting yours. Most silences felt awkward, needed to be filled but this one left you feeling content. Silence was alright with certain company, you supposed while you looked over at So’lek. His eyes met yours and they widened slightly in surprise, as if you’d caught him staring. And you felt like you had. It made your cheeks flare with heat.
“Do you know how to make a crown?” You suddenly asked, blurted out as you looked down at the wolf flowers dancing against your legs. He raised a brow in question “hm?” You plucked a flower from the soil and said “a flower crown. My sister taught me.” He seemed interested, leaning in, his chin hovering just above your shoulder and so close to you that you could hear his breathing. Soft and controlled. You continued “Aha'ri. She’d like it here. She taught me how to braid my own queue too, because I had so much trouble doing it alone.” He watched your hands carefully weave together stems of the flowers and some grass too into a slow but sure crown. He listened to you ramble, and he himself spoke of his own stories, resting his head against your shoulder and you subconsciously leaned into him, head against his. This went on for a while, sometimes it would be quiet, and other times he would ask you questions or you would ask him some of your own.
You would call this one of your favorite memories, some day. Probably tomorrow. You smiled softly and shifted, making him lean away, and you almost immediately missed the warmth. “Here,” you placed it atop his head, and it almost fit perfectly. Perhaps a little too small but it wasn’t too noticeable, you did well. Your chest welled with warmth and something bubbly as a smile spread across his lips, his hand going to the crown, and very hesitantly to your face. You leaned into it, had to, or he would’ve stopped. Then he did something unexpected but.. he always did.
So’lek leaned in, and pressed a sweet kiss to the flat of your nose, and leaned his forehead against yours in silence before he murmured “thank you, nìhona.” You giggled softly at the name. “Nìhona?” You asked. He smiled at your amusement and nodded against your forehead, his hand moving to rest against your nape “it suits you. You are sweet in nature, and it’s..” he paused. A pause that made the entire world stop spinning, the wind even held its breath as it listened in, the sounds of the water and bugs and animals quieted as if to make it easier to hear the words he spoke for you, for you to hear, and only you.
“One of my many favorite traits of yours.” He breathed. You rested your hand on the back of his neck as he was doing to yours, and spoke, soft enough for him to hear “you have so many that are my favorite that it’s hard to list them all.” He laughed. You laughed. His hand tightened only slightly as if to keep you there for a while longer but he didn’t need to. You wanted to stay there forever. “Quiet days aren’t so bad, are they ma’yawntu?” He spoke with a certain fondness in his voice that it made your heart skip a beat. Or three.
You shook your head, eyes shifting to his lips for just a moment, wondering what it would be like to press yours there. “No. Not too bad.” You murmured, “but I suppose the company helps.” He hummed in amusement and he must’ve seen where your eyes strayed because at some point, you two had shared a kiss. He tasted sweet, like the berries you so often found him eating. The kiss was soft and genuine, it was time stopping and innocent. The first of what you hoped would be many. When you pulled away he couldn’t help but leave one last quick peck against your lips before letting you go. Not too far, his hand still gently holding you close. “Thank you.” So’lek muttered.
“For what, the crown, or the kiss?” You joked and he rolled his eyes in feign annoyance before letting you go. You laughed together and you would wonder if you would have more quiet days like these. You hoped.

run away with me - part two
Part One Here
Pairing: Nor/Fem!Sarentu!Reader
Summary: Nor hesitantly returns. And while Ri'nela is quick to forgive and welcome him back into the Sarentu... he knew that you would not be as forgiving. But you wouldn't be the woman he loved if you did.
Word Count: +3k
Warnings: Spoilers for AFoP, only one or two uses of Y/n, proofread by me, ANGST!!!
Taglist: @mooniequeen @avatar-lover @taronyuhunter
A/n: This needed a Part 2 (especially now that I finally got to that you-know-what scene on AFoP. I had a feeling it would happen but still!)
Ri'nela is tsahik now.
Nor is honestly so proud of her, and of everyone he left behind. When he returned and realized that everyone in the Resistance was still around -apart from those who were lost to the attack on HQ- even after so long, he was internally relieved. While he initially hated the very sight of his human allies, he had spent so much time traveling alone, surviving in the wild, and reflecting on himself and his inner demons... to the point where he knew that the Resistance was not part of his pain and Priya and the others were innocent. He had come to the same conclusion as So'lek did. They were his allies, and they wanted Eywa to be free from the pain the Sky People inflicted on her just as much as he did.
As Ri'nela shows him around, keeping her arm linked with his as if afraid he would disappear, Nor quickly notices a few things are different among the new Sarentu clan and their tawtute allies. There were several more Na'vi than he remembered. All of them come from different backgrounds, wearing various clothes and different styles from one another, and none of them bore the mark of the Sarentu. Some had very young children among them, and to his surprise, they bore the mark of the Sarentu. They all greeted Ri'nela respectfully as she passed by them, addressing her as their tsahik. The only one who appeared to treat Ri'nela the same as before and call her by her name was Teylan, but Nor suspected that she likely asked him to. Teylan gave the other Sarentu male a wide berth, and Nor couldn't blame him.
While Ri'nela leads Nor away from the clan to journey to the Hollows, he notices one other thing about the Na'vi living among the reformed Sarentu.
You were not among them.
He didn't dare ask, no matter how much it pained him to do so. He felt as though he had no right to know about you, to know what you've been up to or if you were even still alive. He knows Ri'nela will be expecting him to ask, but he's still as stubborn as when they were kids, so he bit his tongue.
And maybe that's why Ri'nela brings him to the Circle of Ancestors, something he dreaded but knew it needed to be done. He had felt like a stranger in Eywa's presence, not having connected to her since he and his friends first found a Tarsyu flower. Nor felt as though he didn't deserve to connect to the Great Mother, not after growing up in the shadow of the Sky People, learning their ways and forgetting everything he had been taught as a child. After he left the Resistance, he felt more ashamed of who he became and was convinced Eywa would hate him now more than ever after what he did.
Ri'nela was patient with Nor, encouraging him to connect to Eywa, at least just this once. She promised she would never make him do it again if that was what he wanted, and so, Nor knelt in the grass and slowly took his kuru in hand, finally making the connection.
He finally got to see the truth for himself, revealing what Alma did... or, technically what she didn't do. While his anger and resentment still festered, there was also unimaginable guilt. After he saw Alma's memories, he also saw yours.
He saw your fear and pain while walking through the remnants of the Circle of Songs, the place the Sarentu were butchered during their annual moot, now laid barren within the yavä'. He had been on the radio with you as you traveled through it, remembering how he listened to your distress at your discovery in the midst of searching for proof of Anufi's innocence. He remembered feeling helpless, wishing more than anything that he could have gone with you. He should have gone with you...
He saw your grief and pain... your anger and fear. He saw everything you went through, and most of it was without him, when you needed him the most. He saw you every time you connected to the Circle of Ancestors, downloading your memories in case something happened to you. He saw how you wept in front of Eywa while clutching a familiar carved stone in your hand, the one he had gifted you after promising to always stay by your side.
Your memories did little to comfort him, and as he finally disconnected from the Circle of Ancestors, his curiosity got the better of him, glancing over at Ri'nela as she carefully watched him with folded arms.
"Where... where is she?" He finally asked.
"She's persistent in spreading stories and democracy across other clans, like a true Sarentu," Ri'nela doesn't hesitate to answer, having been waiting for him to ask, "While I remain here to lead our clan, she ventures out there, as our envoy, to find new friends and spread our wisdom. She always comes back with stories of her adventures and sometimes brings home other Na'vi who wish to join the Sarentu. She always has something new to tell me from her travels."
"So..." his ears begin to rise with hope, "She eventually comes back?"
"Always. It could be days or months, but she always comes home. Although... she never stays long."
Ri'nela sucks in a deep breath, her gaze heavy, "I can see it in her eyes. She is saddened by us. She looks at me and Teylan and thinks of you. That is why she travels so much... to be rid of your memory. To forget that you abandoned her."
Despite how her tone was soft and gentle, her words cut deep into Nor's skin, making him flinch in pain as his ears and tail lowered in distress and guilt. Ri'nela lowers herself to her knees, meeting Nor's eyes with a stern, cold expression, "When she returns-- and she will, you will not abandon her again."
Nor swallows sharply and nods once, his voice so quiet and strange to him, "What do I even say to her?"
The Sarentu tsahik lifts her chin, "I would do nothing less than beg for her forgiveness on your hands and knees."
~~~~~~~~~
Nor had been living among the Sarentu and the Resistance for two months before you finally made your appearance.
You flew in by ikran, fast and agile, your Bonded barely giving herself time to fan out her wings to stop her descent before her talons landed gracefully on the ground. Luckily, no one was close enough to be ambushed by the harsh entrance, but once people began to realize who had made a quick landing in the center of their community, they all began to flock toward you and your ikran, eager to see you and hear about your travels.
Nor didn't know that it had been you who landed, but when Ri'nela came to fetch him, both relief and dread fought each other in his stomach, his lungs barely expanding enough for him to breathe. He follows the tsahik out of his new kelku and toward the crowd, unconsciously keeping his head down so you wouldn't immediately see him.
Not like that was an issue as you were currently occupied by your friends and family, barely giving you time to dismount from your ikran before you were bombarded with hugs and warm welcomes.
"Y/n!"
"Teylan!" You laugh excitedly, hopping down from your banshee as Teylan runs up to you. He bends low just before he scoops you up in his arms and swings you around in the air enthusiastically, causing you to let out a soft squeal of surprise.
Nor watched this soft display from a distance, a small twinge of his tail indicating he was slightly jealous. He was aware of what Teylan had done and knew why neither you nor Ri'nela felt the need to tell Nor about their friend's betrayal after the first HQ was destroyed. At the time, Nor was hateful and blamed everyone who wronged him and his loved ones. He understands why he was never told about Teylan's betrayal, knowing it wouldn't have gone well... knowing that it might have ended up like what happened with Alma's avatar.
Despite coming to terms with himself and calmly accepting both Alma and Teylan's betrayals, Nor couldn't help but feel bothered as he watched Teylan set you down and begin rambling about everything you might have missed while you were gone. It bothered him that you had forgiven Teylan easily enough, your smile wide and keeping your eyes solely on your dear friend as he talked so he knew he had your full attention.
So'lek walked up and greeted you as well with a small yet warm smile, asking about your travels and other clans. Nor felt his eyes lower in shame. While the lone warrior was sympathetic to Nor and how he felt, So'lek has yet to speak to him, only watching from a distance with those disappointed eyes. Nor couldn't blame him. He had let So'lek down, just like many others.
He stands back, letting everyone else greet you first, but Ri'nela won't let him run away, no matter how much he wishes he could. Keeping Nor to stay put with just one, pointed glare, she turns away and walks up to you, embracing you tightly before whispering into your ear,
"There is someone here to see you."
"Is it Anufi?" You asked excitedly, not yet catching whatever dire note was in your friend's voice as you pulled out of her hug to inspect her face, continuing to ramble, "Or Okul? I promised them I would bring some of Relun's best recipes the next time I visited. I didn't think Okul would be so impatient--"
You cut yourself off, voice faltering on your tongue as your eyes catch movement behind Ri'nela. Peering over her shoulder, words fail you as your eyes widen in shock, face quickly losing color as if you had seen a ghost.
Nor felt his skin prickle under your watchful eye, noting the way your ears and tail fell before he could even blink. Standing closer to you than before, he made a quick observation about your attire, his eyes scanning the songcord running up and down your arm, longer than it had ever been before. His own ears lowered when he noticed a familiar item dangling from the cord.
You still had his stone. He wasn't sure if that made him feel better or worse.
~~~~~~~~~
After you were given time to relax and have a home-cooked meal with your friends and loved ones, you found yourself in a secluded part of the forest near the base, arms crossed and internal walls up as you stood before Nor, alone. Ri'nela insisted the two of you talked privately, and the two of you both had your own reasons to disagree with her, but didn't dare protest.
You let the two of you linger in a long, sullen silence, making Nor's skin crawl uncomfortably, keeping his eyes lowered to the ground while yours practically bore into his flesh. He wished he didn't deserve your hatred, knowing that you were unforgiving when you wanted to be. Perhaps it was because you were younger, but you always seemed so... kind and gentle, but eager to fight for what was right. You always wanted to fight for your home, for the memory of your mother and sister. You had wanted to fight so that other Na'vi children never went through what you went through with Nor, Ri'nela, Teylan, and the other Sarentu children who were abducted. Nor has seen your fire directed at the Sky People and he was always proud to witness your ruthlessness... but he never thought he'd be on the receiving end of it.
And now that you were less young and less naive, it was hard to picture that younger, more hopeful you. As he stood before you, he couldn't help but wonder where had the time gone.
Your eyes never leave his form, your expression impassive as you finally spoke, "How long before you leave again?"
Nor flinched, eyes still downcast, "I... I don't intend on leaving."
"Like you did last time."
He winced once more, voice quiet in response, "Could you ever forgive me?"
Your eyes narrow, "Why should I?"
"You seem to have forgiven Teylan easily enough."
"Because at least Teylan stayed and did everything in his power to show he deserved forgiveness," you snapped. Although you never raised your voice, your words still felt like a punch to the gut, "At least Cortez stayed and tried her best to right her wrongs, instead of running like a coward and avoiding her responsibilities."
His eyes finally lift to meet hers, irises riddled with guilt and pain, "I'm so sorry..."
You glared at him for what felt like forever when really it was only a few minutes. Eventually, your posture relaxes, the anger bleeding away into defeat and quiet resentment. You shook your head, voice equally as quiet as his, "I don't blame you for how you feel. I don't even blame you for what you did, despite how much I wish you didn't do it."
Your own eyes lowered, unable to look at him as you whispered, "I blame you for leaving and not making it right. For abandoning us-- your family."
Nor wanted to reach out and touch you, but instead curled his hands into fists to restrain himself, keeping them at his sides while looking out over the forest, "Why... Why didn't you just track me down and drag me back?"
He couldn't help but wonder. You were an excellent tracker and hunter, far more observant and patient than he had ever been. Many times while he was alone out in the wild, he would dream of you ambushing him, screaming at the top of your lungs before you grabbed him by the ear and brought him back... back home. Nor would often wake up from these dreams and feel cold, often looking around to see if you were actually there or not. But you never showed up.
You bite your lip, "I thought about it... many times actually. Sometimes it was almost an unbearable temptation and I had to keep busy to stop myself."
He glanced back with disbelief, "Why?"
"Because as much as I hate you..." If you had realized just how much those words hurt him, you didn't show it, your mind far away even as you looked directly at him, practically looking right through him, "I would never make you do anything against your will. That would make me no better than Mercer. You wanted to be left alone. So that's what I gave you... even if it left the most unimaginable pain in my chest. It was worse than Aha'ri because at least I knew my sister was dead... but I had no idea where you were or if you were alive."
Nor was harshly reminded of what he saw in the Circle of Ancestors, your pain still at the very front of his mind, the very pain he caused for disappearing without a trace. His eyes glance down to your wrist, longingly staring at the small stone with the mark of the Sarentu he had carved into its surface.
"I'm sorry."
"You said that. You also said that you go wherever I go," she followed his gaze and lifted the stone up to her eye level, staring at it while remembering all of those promises he made the day he gave the stone to her, "You said if you ever leave, it would only be when I was ready to go with you. You lied."
Nor finally stepped forward, hands reaching out to you as he tried to bargain, "B... But I'm here now. I-- I'm here to stay and make things right again. I can make things right. Teylan and Alma... they came back to make things right. I want to do the same."
"Yes. Now. When the fighting is over, not when it mattered." You bite back.
He sucked in air through his teeth, hissing as though he was in pain, your words like venom, "I know. I know I made a mistake. I should have returned immediately after leaving. I should have gone to cool off and then come straight back to you. I... I should not have hurt Alma. I should not have hurt you."
"And unless you can turn back time, you can't change what you've done," you step away, keeping your distance, keeping your walls high and on guard as you mutter, "I should be grateful you wanted to try and traditionally court me. If we hadn't taken things slow... had we mated... I don't think I could have survived what you did."
Your eyes glare deep in his soul, "What was that phrase Mercer used to say? 'I dodged a bullet?'"
Nor's ears stay low and pinned to his skull, looking like a kicked puppy, "Please do not say that."
"Why?"
"Because you are not Mercer."
"No, but as of right now, it's easier to say his name than yours," the words stung, hurting Nor even more when he caught the way your voice cracked. Glancing up, his heart shattered at the sight of tears slowly spilling down your face, your lip trembling as you tried to keep your words steady, "I expected Mercer to do terrible things. I... I never expected for you-- for you to--"
Leave.
You scoff to yourself, your words ashes in your mouth, "I should've known. You wanted to leave from the start. Maybe if I had let you go from the start, this would have hurt less."
"But I am here now," he quickly soothes, "I'm here."
You don't glare at him, but your wet eyes bore into him as though he had betrayed you all over again. You let out a shaky sigh through your nose as you slowly open your mouth, making your tongue move before you could hold back your words, "... I don't need you right now. I needed you back then, but not now. I needed you when it mattered."
He could almost see your walls building ever higher in your mind and heart, his own beginning to crumble to dust, "Y/n, please--"
"I'm not going to make you leave again," you quickly add, turning your back to him as you start walking back toward the Resistance base, distantly speaking without sparing any emotions, "I'll do that myself. I have to leave at first light tomorrow to meet up with the Zeswa before they take off for migration. I think it would be best if you and I don't interact from here on out whenever I come back home. Stay or leave, I don't care anymore."
You walk back without uttering another word. You don't even look back to see Nor's reaction. He watches you retreat until you completely disappear from view, the urge to run after you so strong he has to bite his tongue from calling out to you. Something made him stay put, letting you go despite how his anger and sadness were pleading with him to pick up his feet, to follow you, to say everything he didn't know how to say but by Eywa, he wanted to try.
But he didn't. He knew this was no more than he deserved for what he put you through alone.

Two sarentu's left
Hello, so I am watching the frontier's of pandora, going over clips and everything until I noticed something.
counting the player, there is teylan, aha'ri, nor, and ri'nela. However, in the cutscene, from left to right, we see in the middle row ri'nela on the left and nor on the right, his red shirt. But who are the other two behind them?
And that is their names.
We never saw them be put together with the rest. And we never saw them after. At least in the game plays I have watched. So unless I am completely missing something. Where are the other two sarentu's?
Are they dead? Mercer would have defiantly said if they are. Maybe brag about like he did with aha'ri.
Not only that, but back when they were kids.
You would think the other two would be with the main group in the same bunker room. But obviously they are not.
And when they are older, the other two are not with them. So, one time are they shown. And another time are they mentioned. Never again. And there were times in the game where the player spoke with alma. There were plenty of times to ask where are they. Heck, even the other sarentu's didnt ask where are they.
But I am questioning it now. No mention of where they are and no mention after escaping TAP facility. Are they being saved for something else later? Or did the developers forgot half way?
I really want to know what happened.

So'lek x Sarentu!Reader

Word count: 4.1k.

The back door to the resistance base opened and you were greeted with the scenery of Pandora once more. However, you were on a mission of your own, which was to find Nor. His state after the connection with the Tarsyu, was concerning to say the least.
You used your Na’vi senses to track his scent, rushing through the forest in order to not lose it. You scale up the lands, seeing a beautiful Ikran fly by, you follow it, hoping it would lead you to where you need to be. You feel that you are reaching closer to Nor, but there is something you want to ask of So’lek, so you contact him through the radio that he had given you.
“Hey, So’lek. You there ? I think Nor’s nearby. Maybe, you could talk to him like you did with me? About your clan. How it feels. Just as I felt your pain and understanding, maybe Nor could too ?”. However, no reply comes through the radio, which makes you worry, you stop in your path and hold the radio close to you “So’lek?”. Then finally came alive with his voice.
“Alma and I are checking into one of our other camps. It’s gone quiet, Sarentu” HIs tone seemed urgent and distressed. Like he wasn’t focused. “You sound worried”, you state as you continue on your path up. So’lek replies in anger, but not at you, “The Sky People continue to spread”.
Concerned as well for your fellow Resistance allies, you ask him, “You think they found it?”, but only static somes throught the radio. “So’lek?!” The radio cuts off, you look at it in disbelief. ‘After I speak with Nor I need to find So’lek, I’m worried about him’ you think to yourself.
At last when you reach the top hill, you are greeted with the clear vast sky at first, as you can see the other planet looming in the distance as well as the floating lands. You are awestruck for a moment, unable to help yourself as you walk closer to the edge.
You see Nor from the corner of your eyes as he walks in front of you, closer to a small campfire, his whole body seemed tense and confused. He notices you as he looks back, his words anxious as he questioned you, “What must our ancestors think of us? Do you think they pity us? Sad to see what we have become?” his face turned back around, his gaze looking straight ahead yet there seemed to be no focus on anything in particular.
“We’re still Sarentu..” You try to reassure him, but Nor is quick to interject, “Teylan barely speaks our tongue Y/N!...but then he always preferred human words”, he sighed, as his voice almost came out as a defeated whisper at the end.
You frowned, it is not Teylan’s fault that he is this way. He was barely past the toddler stage before they were all forced into The Ambassador Program. Being taught the human words as well as to behave like a human are all he ever knows. Although, you were a biased as you always saw him as a younger brother that needed to be protected. “You know you cannot blame him for that, Nor. Alma says we all need time to adjust” you gently rebuked his words as he crouched near the fire, his body still looking tense, you went over to him, bending down a bit and placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, to let him know that you were there for him, your friend.
Nor placed his right hand over yours squeezing it once, thanking you for the support you provided. You gently removed your hand, slowly getting back up and looking over the lands of Pandora, thinking out loud, “Why did the RDA come back?”
“They wanted more of Pandora” Nor replied, as you looked back at him and him to you, he continued, his voice filled with hatred “They always do”.
“Then we’ll need to fight!” you declared as your stance became more confident, knowing that this was the only way to protect and save Pandora. Nor voiced his agreement, “Yes. Aha’ri would have wanted us to fight'', the conviction in his eyes becoming stronger. Hearing your sister’s name from Nor just made you believe in this plan. You nodded at him, only you knew how much he cared for your sister, being his confidant whenever the pain was too much. He smiled shakily in return.
BOOM
A loud booming sound was heard to the west of where you stood, both you and Nor flinching at it. Turning your head towards it, only to see some kind of bombs going off and the forest lit on fire. You were shocked, wondering what happened. Then you could hear your radio, crackling to life, with Priya’s frantic voice coming out.
“Hey, can anyone hear me? Listen, Alma’s got a problem over at our western camp…one of ours is hurt!”
“I’m here!”, you reply hurriedly, not wanting to waste any time as the problem would become only worse.
You could hear the relief in Priya’s voice as she spoke, “Oh, thank god Y/N. I’m picking up more RDA heading that way”, just as she said those words, more of the RDA scorpion gunship flew by to the location. You and Nor looked on in worry. Nor turned to look at you, his voice firm and reassuring as he declared, “Go Y/N. I’ll find Ri’nela and Teylan. We’ll make sure the HQ is safe, come back to us safe”. He then rushed past you to head back to the resistance base, as you looked over at the smoke rising in the distance.
Luckily, you had brought your short bow that So’lek allowed you to keep after he had given it to you. You did not have a gun or rifle because you did not like using them, but if it protected those you cared about from the RDA then you would only use it on them. You jumped down carefully and as quickly as you could, hearing Priya’s voice once again through the radio, her voice sounding as if she was almost close to tears, “Please, please hurry. It sounded really bad Y/N - I don’t know what to do…. I’m scared, Anqa’s out of the field labs, and Dani-”
“Calm down Priya, take deep breaths, I’m on my way. Do not worry!” you tried to calm her down as you rushed past the forest, the site of the smoke steadily coming into frame. “All that smoke-It’s going to draw more RDA to that camp!” She continued anxiously.
“I’ll get to them first, I promise you Priya” You say as you cut off the radio, redoubling your efforts in order to reach there as quickly as you could. You pulled out your bow as you arrived at the area, shocked to find upon reaching there that the land was scorched and the field lab was on fire, with several members of the Resistance injured scattered. Your ears twitched, hearing a deep voice in the distance say somberly, “Alma, It is too late”. You could immediately recognize who it was as it was the voice of someone you could not keep out of your head.
So’lek.
You could also hear Alma, her voice frustrated and distressed as you drew closer. She was doing compressions on one of the fallen members of the Resistance. So’lek was scanning the area carefully for any more signs of the RDA, you could see his ears twitch in your direction, his body which was strung tight in tension, loosened a bit as he registered your presence.
So’lek felt relief as soon as he noticed that the Sarentu had arrived at the research station. He knew could trust her to have his back in this. Although he does not know where this trust comes from, nonetheless, he chooses to ignore it, deciding to deal with it later once they’re safe from danger.
“Damnit. How’d they find this place? It’s not on any of their patrol routes” Alma frustratedly questioned, angry and disturbed to see her fellow members injured. So’lek could only reply, his voice grim.
“They are looking for us now”.
Another member, Hajir, let out a cry of pain as he leaned against the almost destroyed research field lab. Alma rushed over, her voice stressed as she reassured him, “Okay. You’ll be fine, all right? Listen to me. You’ll be fine”.
You looked away from the scene in order to search for So’lek, only to find him holding out some sort of thick vultsyìp (Stick) weapon out to you in one hand, looking at you with trust and confidence in his eyes with the fire in the back casting an intimidating scene on him.
“Here. Have you seen one of these before?” So’lek questioned as he passed it to you, your hands nervously grasping it, while looking at him, you spluttered, “Uh, n-no”. So’lek could hear the apprehension in the Sarentu’s voice, his gaze became gentle as he tried to reassure her, not wanting her to be in distress.
“Don’t worry, It’s easy”, he stated as he looked back, scanning for any signs of the RDA, the fire now casting a orange glow on his face because of this you were able to see the two scars that you hadn’t noticed before on the left side of his face, one which ran down from the top of his ear to his cheek and another just below his ear. "Even with them, he still looks very handsome," you thought, before coming to a realization of what you just thought “Wait, handsome. What am I even thinking?! Oh Eywa, Y/N focus!”
You shook your head to get rid of the thoughts, just in time before So’lek’s voice brought you back, “We’ll have more on us soon”, his eyes looking towards the sky in search of any gunship.
“We’ll need to stabilize him” Alma stated as she looked over the injured.
So’lek turned to you and came closer, “Don’t take too long” he gently declared, as he came even closer to you, you had to look up at him slightly. He resumed stating, “There’s an oil refinery ahead. I’ll make sure the RDA come running to it. Keep them off Alma and Hajir till then” You could see Alma in the background carrying Hajir inside the station.
You must have looked anxious, because So’lek gaze became focused on you with a soft and reassuring look. He came closer and placed a hand on your shoulder, his voice gentle as he said, “You can handle this Sarentu, I trust you. Do not worry, I’ll be quick”, he steps back and just before he rushes off, his face turns to look at you straight in the eyes and his voice, which was already deep and low in tone, became serious and demanding, as he stated “Stay safe for me”.
Your stomach fluttered and your tail started curling around your leg, a giddy and curious feeling arising in you. “What is he doing to me?”, you thought, as heat rose to your cheeks. For some reason though, those words from him were all you needed to be strong to face the RDA head on. You looked over the new weapon that he gave you. It looked like it could throw something, maybe a bomb.
Your radio started with So’lek stating, “I see more soldiers coming. Be ready”. Well that made you nervous, you exclaimed, “What? Where ?!”.
“Breathe Sarentu. Use your surroundings. Look for any openings. The humans will stumble into your traps”. He reassures before cutting the radio off, presumably to cause the distraction he stated.
You close your eyes for a moment and take in deep breaths just as So’lek said, calming yourself down. His words became an anchor to steady you. Helping you think straight and focus on the incoming fight. You looked around the research station and the area surrounding it, you could tell that standing up on the lab would give you more vantage points to look out for, so you did just that. Just as you jumped up So’lek’s voice could be heard again through the radio, “I left more ammo for the staff sling on the airlock roof. I trust you to make good use of it” and saw a few boxes that contained supplies, bullets and spare parts that So’lek said there would be, making sure to collect them knowing you’ll need them for the fight.
Then you started searching for the openings that could be used by the RDA, especially the Gunships to land. Those vehicles and AMP suits would require steady ground. Finally finding some places, you put in the sensor bomb in the net of the staff sling and draw back as you sling it across the area strategically. They would go off if anyone or anything stepped on them,
Just then, you can hear the blades of the Scorpion Gunships getting closer, as they descend from the sky and just as you predicted, they landed exactly where you expected them to, right on the traps you had set. The gunship exploded, instantly destroying it and killing off the RDA. You tell more would be arriving, and this time not only the gunships, but few Amp suits and stray RDA humans around. However, Alma called you through the radio, asking for the medical supplies that were over at the other lab nearby. You rushed over there, entering the lab and collecting the supplies as well as finding an assault rifle. You were low on arrows, so this should help you in the fight. You notify Alma that you got them, she sounds relieved that you did.
As you head out of the lab, a gunship comes into view and aims the machine gun at you, just before they can, you look in awe when a Na’vi on an Ikran flies into the scene and tries to destroy the ship, causing the RDA ship to retreat. You rush back to where Alma is, radioing So’lek on the way.
“So’lek! There’s another Na’vi here! They’re helping me” you exclaim in surprise and excitement at a new face.
When So’lek heard his radio turn on and your voice filtered through with the shout of his name, he was worried that something happened, that something went wrong and you were hurt. He wanted to rush back to help you, but luckily You continued to relay what had happened. So’lek chuckled in relief, his voice sounded more confident as he said, “Good. Explosives are done. That should be enough to distract the rest. Make sure the camp is clear. I will deal with a few of them on my end. Contact me when you are done”.
As you reached the camp, you could see some AMP suits milling about. You used the same strategy as before, wherever there was a cluster of RDA you used your sling staff. You made sure to examine your surroundings, running back and forth, scanning for more signs of danger. Killing the stranglers with your bow. Once the coast was clear, you headed to the entrance of the airlock doors.
The door opens with Alma coming out with Hajir in her arms, “That was close” she sighed, as she explained, “They have plenty of AMP suits, more than I’ve seen around before. One of Mercer’s favorite toys” She grumbled the last sentence as if remembering something bitter. You frowned as well, just hearing that man’s name made you angry. Alma turned to look at you, her gaze on you was filled with happiness and guilt, “You were always quick. Always so ready to help anyone, even back at TAP. I’m sorry you had to face them alone Y/N”, she said as she took the medical supplies from your hand and started working on Hajir.
“I wasn’t alone. So’lek distracted them..” You were quick to inform her, knowing that if it wasn’t for So’lek you couldn’t have done it. However, you tried to keep the worry out of your mind for him, knowing that he can handle himself, you continued with a question, “and did you see that Na’vi?” your excitement of seeing another Na’vi was through the roof.
“Ikran are fierce, and very protective of their riders. An RDA scorpion is no match for them” Alma explained as wrapped the bandages around Hajir. Then you heard a growl come from behind you. You immediately turned around to see the same Ikran and Na’vi from before land near you.
The Na’vi warrior hops off the Ikran, her voice rings out amused as she calls out to you, “A Na’vi, dreamwalker and human. Fighting the Sky people alone? You are very brave” she walks toward you looking at Alma and Hajir, her gaze then shifting to you, smiling when you exclaim “That was amazing! The way you took out that thing…Thank you”, you could not stop yourself from gushing. She truly was amazing when she fought.
She comes closer to you, however her smile drops as she sees you face, her eyes fixated on the mark below your left eye. “Wait..” she mumbles, her hand coming closer to inspect your face, “You have the mark”. The Na’vi warrior’s face slowly turns into shock, her eyes widening and her tail curling in surprise. She leans closer to you, questioning you in disbelief, “You are… Sarentu?”. She takes your hand, her voice becoming more animated, “The storytellers. Bringers of peace. My father said your clan disappeared years ago. We thought you were dead!”.
“It is a long story but the Sarentu spirit is not so easy to kill” You declared, standing proud that you defied their beliefs, that your clan, although so small in numbers, still survives.
The Na’vi warrior smiles at that, she speaks to herself in awe, “I had hoped to find the Resistance here, but a Sarentu…”. She then focuses her gaze on you, standing formally as she introduces herself, “I’m Etuwa, tsahik (matriarch/Interpreter of Eywa) of the Aranahe.” She brings her hand to her forehead and moves it towards you, the motion of saying Oel ngati kameie (I see you). You do it as well.
Alma interrupts, sharing her condolences to Etuwa, “I knew your mother…I’m sorry”. Etuwa looks at her, acknowledging Alma’s compassion, she then states grimly, “Our home suffers too. The sky people grow bolder and the land falters under their feet. And yet, my people…Our Hometree”, her voice shakes, “We are not warriors. But war has come”. Etuwa then turns to you, the hope in her eyes strong. “My father still needs convincing but he knew the Sarentu. He will listen to you. He must” She speaks with hope and determination in her tone, as she heads back to her Ikran.
“I need to get them back. The others…They should know what happened here”. Alma explains to Etuwa, helping the injured.
“Of course, I’ll help with your wounded” Etuwa stated calmly as she lifted Hajir and took him back to her Ikran, hopping on them. She calls out to you, “My Hometree isn’t far from here. Tell them I sent you. But not all see as I do, so please do not mention my part in…this” she whispers the last part. Etuwa looks towards you, “May your spirits soar with the currents of the wind”. Her Ikran takes off into the sky as you look at her in awe.
After a couple of moments gaining your bearings, you contact So’lek immediately in excitement and hope, “So’lek, another Na’vi showed up to help! Etuwa. From the Aranahe clan. She asked me to visit her Hometree. Maybe more Na’vi will join us now?”
So’lek replied, feeling the relief spread through him that you were safe and hearing that it was Etuwa that helped, he knew that she would understand you and your nature. However he felt slightly sad as well that he had to lower your expectation about the Na’vi joining, “Not likely. I tried before. It did not go so well. Their leader, Ka’nat practically threw me out. He is not easily swayed.”
“He’s not afraid of the RDA?”, you were confused as you questioned. How can a Na’vi not want to stop the Sky people that are destroying Pandora for their own benefit?
“Rather, they have already caused him great sorrow. He will protect his people from further suffering. That, I can understand.” and So’lek did, having lost his own clan to the very same people. However, he could not understand what it was like to lose a mate like the Aranahe leader and he didn’t intend to find out. For a brief moment he wondered what if he had lost you. He quickly shook his head from those thoughts, finding them painful. He continued with his explanation, trying to avoid his thoughts, “The Aranahe are normally united in all things, but the war has sparked some friction. Many will close their eyes to an uneasy truth. But a Sarentu may help them see”
You could hear the strong faith he had in you, that you could accomplish such a task and you felt the ‘butterflies’ in your stomach flutter, as Priya once said when she felt really happy. However, it seemed neither of you wanted to cut off contact, there was something you wanted to ask him, just as he, to you.
“So’lek, are you hur-” “Sarentu, are you injur-”. Both of you spoke at the same time, concerned filled in your tones. You stopped, feeling that flutter feeling again. Feeling too flustered you quickly mumble to him, using the words he said to you before, “Come back safe to HQ for me, So’lek” and you cut the contact, covering your face as it heated up, you squatted down on the ground, your tail swishing so hard, feeling shy yet happy.
On the other end however, So’lek was standing at the oil refinery with defeated RDA lying around him, he hears the line cut and honestly cannot fathom what had just occurred, his face hot and his heart racing from the adrenaline of the fight as well as something he dares not to acknowledge. He covers his eyes, his head tilted to the sky as he sighs.
So’lek connects with Priya through the radio, before he could say anything however, “So’lek, oh my god! Is everything ok now? Did Y/N reach there in time? Is she and Alma okay ? Are you okay? Is-” he interrupts sighing, knowing that if he didn’t she would go on with her ramblings, “Priya there is something I need you to do” He can hear her immediately stop her previous talk to listen to him. “Yeah sure! What can I do for you?”
“I need you to check on the Sarentu for me when she comes back to the base. See to it that she is not hiding any wounds or pain. She has fought well.” So’lek asked, knowing that the Sarentu trusts Priya out of all the humans in the base and that he could too. The only he asked for this was because he could see that the Sarentu always cared more about others than herself. While running from the RDA in the TAP facility as she is asked about her friends and him even when she was alone, her getting the Dapophet plant for him when he was hurt, her first mission and now. He just wanted her to acknowledge herself as well.
Priya for once was astonished because this is the first time S’lek has asked anything or for anyone ever! It felt like some cogs were turning in her mind as to what could be the reason for him to ask for such a thing and definitely felt excited about it if she was correct!. Priya replied back quickly, “Okay yeah, I can do that! I mean I was gonna do that anyway cause she’s like my friend you know? Y/N’s like really nice, she listens to me and stuff! Also this is the first time you’re asking something, is there something going-”
“Thanks Priya”, So’lek interrupts her train of words, not wanting to hear her theories about him and the Sarentu and cuts the line off. He sighs again for the nth time, feeling drained mentally. He could only stare confusedly at the sky, his thoughts jumbled with the Sarentu and his revenge against the RDA, but one question in his mind stood out.
‘What in Eywa’s name is going on with him?’
Thank you for reading through and I hope you like it !

AS IT RAINS ;; TEYLAN

"Yes, I-I know, I'm sure I know it's name!" you heard Teylan's voice along with a soft laughter from Ri'nela. As you entered HQ you came upon two familiar faces. From the tablet in the female's hands you could guess that she was trying to see if Teylan knew the names of the pictures. Priya told you they were 'memory games' to get the younger Sarentu to get used to Pandora a little more. Behind Teylan's back you folded your arms, waiting for him to speak.
"Well?" smiled Ri'nela, giving you an amused look. The capped one scanned the image in front of him and clapped his hands.
"It's a Whipfang Crawler!" he exclaimed. You gave a couple of soft claps, making him jump in fright and turn to look at you.
"Tslikxyu Txumtem" you corrected. "But very good. I see you've made progress" you sat down next to him, swinging one of your legs over the couch. The girl extended the tablet to you.
"I got eight out of ten right, but the names in Na'vi are still… complex for me" you listen to him at the same time he receive the device, reviewing the earliest pictures.
You remembered a couple of words from Dr. Alma, who had explained to you that Teylan was the most attached to English and in itself, to human practices or customs.
"You're on the right track." you pointed out to him, noticing the boy's face light up all over, happy to have approval, you could guess.
"I have to go. Nor has asked me to help with something." indicated Ri'nela, holding onto your shoulder and carefully, you placed your hand over hers, smiling.
"That's alright. I can go on. I'm a great teacher" you laughed, making Teylan's tail wag anxiously as he noticed how you took the tablet from him and set it down on the couch.
"Are we gonna keep studying?" he asked, to which you stood up, holding out your hand.
"Outside. We are going to study outside" you indicated.
…
"Look, look, a Helicoradian!" Teylan smiled, approaching the plant excitedly, touching it and noticing how it retracted. It had been a while since both of them had left the place and for now, it has been good. Very good.
"And in our language, what is it called?" you asked, keeping up with him. Teylan made a grimace that you found amusing, where he also shrugged, hoping he was right.
"Tawtsngal?" you denied. "Ah, Loreyu!" now you nodded.
"Tawtsngal, 'the plant of love' according to humans… it's from another area" you remember, looking down at your feet as you walked. Suddenly, the sound of some branches and something falling made you raise your head. Teylan frowned and before he could bring his hand to his cap, you stopped him.
"Kali'weya…" now, he didn't remember that name at all, but when he noticed that from his cap dangled something similar to what Nor once caught, similar to a scorpion, his eyes snapped open, terrified.
"Wha...what do I do?" he asked, almost freaking out. Carefully and with only the tip of one of the arrows you had, you received it, pulling it out of Teylan's cap and setting it down on a log.
"They can sting" you said, now taking his face onto your hands and examining to see if something else hadn't landed on his hair. The closeness was such that the boy's tail once again swayed vigorously and anxiously. When you noticed his ears tilted back, you released him, with your cheeks flushing. "I'm sorry, I thought something else had fallen."
Teylan shook his head, embarrassed. "It's okay…" he pressed his lips, starting to turn around. You were just about to suggest to come back at HQ if he wanted, but when you felt drops of water fall to your face you smiled.
"Let's stay here for a while, please" you took his hand before he managed to walk away. Although that action even surprised you, you didn't want to avoid physical contact between both.
The Sarentu looked at you for a few seconds. Your hair was beginning to be adorned by the raindrops and the bio-luminescence of the trees was beginning to glow behind your figure, thought your freckles were too. Your nose wrinkled every time the water hit your face, but you kept smiling.
"You are a blessing…" he said, with a low tone. You turned to look at him and he tried to walk away again, embarrassed. "Sorry, sorry!"
"Syawn, blessing. Rain is a blessing" you nodded with a serene face, oblivious to the context of what he said. "You get it right, well done. We can go back now" you let go of his hand, but he took it again with purple cheeks.
"I want… to learn more"
You noticed that the rain became heavier, but his grip, for the first time, was resolute.
"As you wish".

Late Night Talks
Teylan x Sarentu Reader
Ratings: SFW, a little fluff, a little angst
Word Count: 800
Spoilers for the beginning of the cloudy forest story arc!!!
Kczz…kz…”Hello…” Kcz
The soft static buzz of the walky-talky resting at your side interrupted by a timid voice whispering meekly into the night rouses you from your sleep. While the rest of the resistance gathers around the fire to enjoy a meal and a moment of rest in light of the first — albeit small and mediocre — victory since being flushed from the Kinglor Forest, you retreat to the living quarters. After another long day of close calls with increasingly agressive beasts both feral and RDA alike you chose to revel in the warm lights, tapestries and bean bags among the barrack-like bunk beds. Just as you had barely drifted to sleep to the sounds of distant laughter and soft conversations your walks-talky buzzes to life.
It takes you a moment in your stupor to orient yourself, picking up the comms device much like you used to a phone in you TAP days,
”Hello?” You exhale, rubbing your face.
kczvvv…” I miss you…”
You jump to sit upright, becoming unsteady and light headed in the process. You would know that voice anywhere. You heard those same three words on long stretches of being with the Zeswa or deep in the Kinglor Forest, far from the Dyer’s Bowl and resistance headquarters.
“Teylan!” You wince realizing how loud you were. These days his name was a grimaced at, a slur almost. Blinded by his loneliness and naivety, his actions were responsible for the death of many friends and loved ones. You haven't heard from him since that first day when you escaped the helicarrier, no matter how often you chatted into the void of the walkie talkie static on long nights spent trekking among the trees. After so long you had begun to fear if he had done something stupid, permanent,
”Teylan, are you okay? Where are y-“
”I don’t want you to come for me, I’m okay for the night… I just… I need to hear your voice.” He sighs shakily. He berates himself with shame for even entertaining the idea of contacting you after what he’s done let alone going through with it, you can hear it in the hesitation between each fragmented sentence. It takes every fiber in your being to not insist you should bring your boy home,
”Okay, only if you promise you’re alright.” You bite your lip, leaning to get a better view of the hallway through the shelves acting as dividers for the sleeping quarters.
”I miss you too, Teylan. I worry about you a lo-“
” I never should have done it!” He explodes, feedback from the walkie-talkie piercing through your skull,
”I wanted us to be together again and was blinded by my own stupid-Stupid!” He sniffles, taking a few shallow breaths,
”And now… We were further apart than ever… People died because of me. My friends died. Hajir and Daniella. I miss them.” You hear him take a strained sob,
”An- And I’ll never get to see you again…” He whispers, breaking your heart. You can’t imagine him alone in some computer terminal, cold and lonely upon his own exile. He should be here, with you, warm tucked under your arm. Or at the very least celebrating with the rest of your friends, filling his belly with good food the Kama’tire and Zeswa bring from their homes,
”Breath, Baby. Take a deep breath.” Teylan heaves a few shallow, painful sounding, breathes before taking a shaky sigh,
”You know that’s not true, Teylan, You can have your space but I won’t let you stay away forever.” You murmur, looking towards your pouch containing the paper RDA map you recovered from an abandoned base; laden with marks for searched locations and clues of Teylan’s whereabouts,
”I can’t lie to you, honey, you fucked up big time.” You wince hearing him whimper into another set of sobs,
”But you aren’t the only one. Nor, Priya, and shit. Alma fucked up the worst… I can’t bring myself to burden you with this right now but at this point I just want to move forward.” A moment of heavy silence hovers, dampening the joyous chatter of your friends and teammates across the hideout, leaving you alone with the memories of your clan's demise and standing on the grave of your mentor. You can’t help but wonder if Teylan feels the same weight in whatever far off crevice he’s concealed himself in,
“I just want the RDA gone, Teylan. I want you home…”
It’s another few moments of silence. Followed by many more. It sounds like this conversation is over. You settle back down into the blankets and beanbags covering the cold metal floor. With a sigh, your resolve is set,
”Goodnight, Teylan. I miss you too.”
It doesn’t matter where he’s hidden himself away. You have decided you would take to the skies. No matter how many days, weeks, months it would take— You would bring your boy home. Whether he likes it or not,
”I love you, baby.”
And those four words were all he needed to hear.

A Flickered Flame of Sarentu
Awaking Freedom
Summary: 8 years after the death of Aha’ri everyone is older now and still in the confines of TAP. All the while an Avatar named Jake Sully tune against the RDA and leads a great battle in the Hallelujah Mountains. This causes TAP to have an immediate evacuation and Mercer orders the Na’vi to be killed but Alma saves them and puts them in crio. Nearly 16 years pass and they all wake up, now having to comprehend on what has happened.
A/n: Mentions of killing, fluff, game spoilers, my Sarentu character finally being named
Bold - Speaking in Na’vi
Word index:
Oel ngati kameie - I see you
Eight years.
Eight years since then. That night when Aha’ri died.
It had an impact on everyone, her sibling, Suränu, had it the hardest. Nor also had it as hard, to this day he still misses her. Teylan was also sad, he along with Ri’nela comforted Suränu for many weeks which turned to months. Ri’nela tried to make sure everyone was ok even thought she was also hurting inside. Ah’so couldn’t get the scene out of her head for a long while, she still remembers it but doesn’t like to.
They all continued to hurt during the next eight years, and now their older and a little different from how they use to be when they were younger, still in the TAP, but what they didn’t know is that hope was rising up somewhere far from where they we’re.
_________________________________________ Today was a day like any other, Alma was about to teach the lesson for the day.
“So today, we’ll be continuing our talk about Earth economics and the laws of supply and demand-” Alma said as Nor raised his hand and asked a question.
“Why do we have to use human weapons?” He asked. “Nor, we’ve been over this. Pandora is a very dangerous place” Alma said.
“But we’ve hardly seen Pandora, how do we know what we’re protecting ourselves against?” Nor said then Mercer and two soldiers walked in and Suränu stood up from her seat in a cautious way.
“Cortez, I need to talk to you over here. Now” Mercer said as Alma walked over to him. “Look, order have come dow from Hell’s Gate, We are being evacuated from Pandora, I need you to grab your stuff before-” suddenly the alarm went off and everyone got out of their seats.
“Before the panic starts” Mercer said “what?!” Alma exclaimed. “Look, we have lost Pandora, some avatar driver named Jake Sully went full native, turned the Na’i on us, that’s why you can’t trust any of them”.
“I need you to get your stuff together, and get back in your own damn body. Now, puppet show is over” Mercer said sternly.
“Okay everyone collect your things” Alma turned to everyone “hey Cortez! I’ll handle this, you need to go” Mercer said. Alma looked back at everyone and walked out of the classroom.
Mercer looked at students then at the soldiers “you know what to do” was all he said was he walked out and the two soldiers got onto the platform and aimed there guns at the small group.
Ah’so and Ri’nela with fearful looks in their eyes got beside Nor as he got into a defensive position and hissed, and Suränu and Teylan backed up, looking scared too. Was this going to be the end?
Just then Alma burst in with a gun and shot the two soldiers, once they were dead she dropped the gun “follow me. Quickly”. Nor and Ah’so ran to the door as Ri’nela and Teylan followed after taking each other’s hand.
“We got this one chance! Come on!” Alma exclaimed, Suränu running to the door last.
_________________________________________ The group was lead to a cryovault, where in case of anything happened and needed to go into cryo, they would be brought here.
Alma had a panicked look on her face as she looked at the group of Sarentu, trying to make them all stay calm “get in”.
“Wha…What are you doing?” Suränu asked I’m with a confused and panicked tone “you’ll be safe here” Alma assured.
“Is Mercer leaving us?” Teylan asked worriedly “we are no longer of use to him” Nor responded “no! I won’t believe it” Teylan shouted.
“Hurry, you need to hide” Alma spoke “let us go! We can take them! We can escape, to Pandora!” Nor said, seeming pretty confident.
“There are soldiers everywhere you won’t make a single step” Alma warned and Nor walked up to her “this is our chance to be free”.
Alma spoke “This is your only chance to survive”, Teylan held Nor’s upper arm, basically telling him to trust Alma on this.
Nor looked down, seeming to comply now, then Teylan let go of his upper arm and Nor walked to a cryo capsule.
“What about you?” Suränu asked looking at Alma “you’re just gonna go to sleep, for a little while”. The cryo capsules opened and Suränu got in “it won’t be long ok?” Alma shakily tried to reassure as Suränu laid down as the capsule closed.
Ah’so looked at the empty cryo capsules, she wasn’t sure about this and looked over at Nor who was next to her “I’m not so sure about this” she said with a worried look “me neither, but we have to” Nor responded. “When we wake up, we’ll stick together for whatever come next, ok? Promise?” Ah’so asked.
Nor gave a slight nod “promise”, Ah’so then pulled him into a tight embrace, like as if this will be there last hug. The larger male hugged back and rubbed her back “we’ll see each other soon, it won’t be long” the female separated herself from the hug.
Nor took one final look at her as she went to an empty cryo capsule and sat down in it, she looked over at Nor one final time as he got in his cryo capsule, then it started to close and Ah’so laid down as it closed, she held onto her angtsìk carving which was still in her hand as sleep swept threw her, and everything went dark.
_________________________________________
It was dark, it felt like only for a moment until light, eyes opening again, it was blurry, then the cryo capsule could be heard opening and sight started to get clearer and voices were heard.
“Oh thank goodness your alright” the voice was Alma was heard and Ah’so sat up and turned to look at her as the others looked like they were waking up too.
Ah’so looked around as her sight was still developing from the sleep, “take it easy, all of you” Alma said walking to another cryo capsule and Ah’so started to get up. “Man, how long were we asleep?” She mumbled to herself.
Then she finally noticed how Nor was also awake “Nor!” She gasped with a smile and walked to him but her legs her kinda shaky. Nor walked over to her and held her shoulders “Ah’so” he smiled in relief.
“Your ok” she smiled and Nor gently hugged her and she hugged back then pulled away slowly and saw how the others were also up.
“I thought I lost you, all of you” Alma said helping Suränu sit up “what…”.
“What’s going on? What happened?” Suränu mumbled “you’ve been asleep for a while, a long, long while” Alma replied.
“Oel ngati kameie” a na’vi warrior spoke “why must you prod at them like this? If they can walk, they can walk, the rest we have to leave”.
“But the RDA left, didn’t they? And you left us here” Suränu said “the sky people have returned Sarentu” the na’vi warrior spoke.
“Sarentu…no one has ever called me that” Suränu said “that is your clan, a mighty one at that” the warrior looked at the group “we thought you were lost to the world, but this dreamwalker thought to lock you up in a box instead” he gestured to Alma.
“I’ll explain when we get back” Alma said “but for now, you take it easy your body is still waking up”.
“Did we…did everyone make it?” Suränu asked while now standing up “I’m here, Nor and Teylan, and Ah’so too” Ri’nela replied “we’re safe”.
“We’re getting out at last! It’s really happening” Nor smiled as he was being fixed up by a human “We’re all together, getting out together”. “Why does it look so different in here?” Teylan asked them one of the humans spoke up “can we hurry things up? RDA are en route, you can have your reunion later”.
“Come, eat, you will need your strength” the warrior spoke “we found rations in he canteen, there’s probably more…” Teylan said as he ate some of the rations they found “I think there’s more”.
Ri’nela Lohan a confused look on her face “where’s Yefti? And Telisi?”, “maybe Alma sent them to a different cryovault” Teylan insisted.
Suränu started to head to the canteen to search for some food. “Don’t touch me with that” Nor glared at the human treating him “I’m sorry, I…treating na’vi wasn’t really part of my training”. Ah’so chuckled a bit at Nor’s attitude.
“Come on, come on, we gotta go!” A human exclaimed. “Who are these people? Mercer’s people?” Nor asked “is Mercer here too?” Teylan asked. “No, no, these are friends, we’re finding to get you out of here alright?” Alma reassured.
“So we are truly free now?” Ah’so smiled “maybe not till we get out of here” Ri’nela replied. It was a few more moments of clam before the chaos was brought down.
“RDA squad closing in. We should move” the human who spoke earlier alerted. Soon a sound was heard and it didn’t sound good “everyone out!” Alma exclaimed.
Everyone was rushed out quickly, without Suränu, as they ran away from where the sound was a large explosion was heard from the cryovault.
Looks like the chaos is here.
