Very often I've been asked here if there was any way to send me money or gifts, or if there was any way to help my own family members evacuate Ghazzah or Lebanon through fundraisers. Every day I worry about whether they'll have enough to eat, or whether they've survived yet another bombing. It would help them immensely and it would ease my worries seeing as flour is costing over 200 shekels.

The pawpaw seeds I bought like 2 years ago are sprouting in the bag????????

I bought like 12 from Appalachian forager (she sells lots of pawpaw seeds every year in the fall if u need any btw) and I planted a bunch in the woods on my parents property then forgot about the rest until like a month ago. The soil in the bag was completely dried out so I added some water but didn’t expect them to still be viable, much less do this.

I don’t really go hiking unless I’m on vacation but in like 2009/2010 my step-grandparents took me to grandfather mountain (picture for reference) and you see that tall knob on the left side of the bridge? We were standing there when a elderly man lost his balance, he started trying to regain it, while walking/trotting towards the edge. It was doubly difficult because he kept getting tripped up by loose rocks and the fact that the ground was so uneven. I shit you not he only regained his balance about a foot from that sheer drop off. He only got his balance back after his wife screamed at him and he just dropped and sat down. Appalachian trails are no joke.

hiking trails on the west coast: Begin climbing on a soft earthen trail through beautiful douglas fir-western hemlock forest for 2.5 miles along a series of switchbacks, then break from the tree cover for 1 mile of straight even trail through a stunning wildflower meadow just below the ridgeline, after which the trail makes a sharp right and continues to the summit with a further 2 miles of switchbacks. Enjoy beautiful views of the nearest dormant stratovolcano and also at least two waterfalls and a crystal-clear alpine lake along the way. Round trip: 11 miles, 3,000ft elevation gain. Difficulty: moderate :)

[Seasonal note: first half of trail is a running stream during mud season and a multipitch ice climbing route during winter.] Round trip: 3 miles, 1,200ft elevation gain. Difficulty: jesus christ

they're trying to make an example out of Luigi Mangione and Briana Boston on a massive scale. the punishments are extreme and over the top. the humiliation, dehuminanization and slander is in full force. it's nowhere near how the justice system and the media treat suspects of far more heinous crimes. we've been told for decades that mass shooters who slaughter dozens of innocent people are just loners who struggle with mental health. the message is clear: the lives of regular people are expendable and the murderers who take those lives are deserving of compassion. the lives of billionaires are precious and holy, those who even SPEAK about deposing them are deserving of the full force of the law: they want to put Briana Boston in prison for 15 years. those who have the balls to do it get laid bare to the world and treated as subhuman: we know from other inmates that Luigi's living conditions are horrible, the police have released pictures of him where he's clearly urinated on himself in a sick effort to humiliate him. guilty or not he's a hero for even enduring that treatment.

Hey y'all! Here's something for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week!

Solarpunk's aesthetics have its roots in the art nouveau movement, but if you look at pieces of art nouveau artwork, well, you see a whole lot of skinny white people. Not that there's anything wrong with being either skinny or white! I'm both! It's just, we need some more diversity in the landscape, eh?

So take a summery, art nouveau-inspired piece of a character inspired by my own girlfriend :)

Yes, I know it's rather messy! But honestly, I think that's okay. Art doesn't need to be perfect, and I like that! What matters is that you have fun and feel content.

So here's a reminder to any other artists and writers out there stressing about your work, for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week or anything else- Relax. Creativity is about you and about what you love and what you enjoy. If you're not enjoying it anymore, post and move on.

(I stopped enjoying this piece after my tablet decided to become very finicky and kill my momentum entirely. Had I more time, I'm sure the quality would've been more up to my personal standards.)
