Below we'll be answering some frequently asked questions for upcoming Hatchetfield Femflash Fortnight event in 2025. You can find our prompt list pinned on our blog! If you have any other questions not answered below, feel free to send in a message or an ask

Q:  What are alternates?

A: Prompts you can slot in to any day instead of that day's official prompt in case you don’t like it or don’t know what to do! You can use all of them, some, or none! Hell you can even use both official prompts and alternates, go crazy!

Q: Do I have to do all fourteen days?

A: Only do as much as you want to! The rules are pretty open here, you can make as much or as little for any prompt. You can even post multiple works for one prompt, or use all the main prompts and all the alts! The sky is your limit.

Q: What can I make?

A: Whatever you want! Fan art, fan fic, edits, gifs, or anything else fandom related you can think of. As long as it's inspired by the prompt, is a femslash Hatchetfield fanwork, and sticks to our established rules, anything goes.

Q: How do I post?

A: Anything posted to tumblr will be reblogged here on the femslashfortnight blog, but you can post it anywhere. If you want us to see it for sure then be sure to tag this blog! Otherwise we’ll be browsing the #HFFF25 and #Hatchetfield Femslash Fortnight 25 tag all the time and be enjoying all your stuff!

However, we do ask you to only submit posts from a single blog—as we know some people have art/fic only blogs, as well as personal blogs. This doesn’t mean you can’t crosspost, but only tag one of your posts as a submission by @-ing our blog so we can reblog it for the event!

Q: Can I submit OCs/OC (Original Character) centric fanworks to the event?

A: We won’t be accepting submissions for OCs or OC-only ships, as this event is about pre-existing Hatchetfield content and fanon works based on that. However, if you have a canon Hatchetfield character/OC ship, that can totally be submitted! If you’re unsure about your submission, you can always send a message or an ask and we’ll give you some guidance as to whether your work qualifies!

Q: Can my submitted works include trans headcanon characters or nonbinary/genderqueer characters?

A: Absolutely! In fact, we very much encourage it!! As long as your works/ships focus on non-men, they’re fine to be submitted. This would include, for example, transfem!Paul Matthews or Ziggs. Again, if you’re unsure, send in an ask or a message!

Q: Do you allow crossover works?

A: Currently, no we don't! We want to focus this event on Hatchetfield, and we'd be unequipped to moderate large crossovers with over works we're not familiar with as a mod team or navigating f/f ships in other fandoms.

Q: I’m not sure if my work fits one of the prompts, what can I do?

A: The prompts are supposed to be inspiration rather than limiting, so as long as your fic is inspired by a prompt you should be totally fine! Though, if you’re still worried about it feel free to contact the blog directly via asks, or send a message and we’ll do our best to clear it up for you.

Q: Should I include Trigger Warnings / Content Warnings?

A: Yes! Regarding explicit content or potentially triggering content, we ask you to add any triggers for visual submissions, such as fan art, edits and gifs. 

Usual AO3 tagging rules also apply. When posting a link from AO3 (or another location) to Tumblr, add content/trigger warnings at the top of your post—and also place your mature (e.g. smut, mature themes) submissions beneath a read more along with the #HFFFAfterdark25 and/or #HatchetfieldFemslashFortnight Afterdark 25 tags.

Q: Can I post to other places (Ao3, Wattpad, TikTok, etc)?

A: Of course! Just make sure if you want us to see your submissions and reblog it, that you post it to tumblr (even as a link) also!

Q: Do you have an AO3 collection?

A: We do! This year’s event will have a subcollection under Hatchetfield Femslash Fortnight, and once it’s ready for submissions we’ll share the link on the blog!

Q: I was late, can I still post?

A: Go for it! We will be accepting submissions to the blog and AO3 Collection for a week after, as well as actively reblogging them. So anything shared with us until the 3rd of May is good to go.

Q: Can I post an already existing piece if it fits a prompt?

A: As long as it’s not been already posted before then sure, just make sure it complies with our guidelines and is correctly tagged and TW/CW are applied if necessary.

thank you for appreciating our divorce you see there hasn’t been any canonical fight yet, we just recently discussed how there is a strong potential for things to go Very Badly given the situation. and it could possibly end in them fighting each other. phil and i are both enjoyers of characters getting beat up (fight club is my favorite movie) so weve been drawing a lot of “ooo what if they fought ooo what if they made up oo what if they smoked weed about it together”

kyle x bill would be called kyll which is Fitting

bill is boy goop (changeling) but the player characters don’t know that yet and im scared that depending on how this is revealed it might really spook kyle. kyle’s brother was taken by some mythical entity so he would naturally be very wary of a monster if he felt like it was a threat. and kyle is incredibly impulsive and ambitious and has an utter lack of self preservation so im like. i cannot guarantee that given the right circumstances kyle might attack bill if the goop reveal were to happen in a very sudden and frightening way yknow.

it would go down a lot better if bill just sat the gang down and was honest about it but bill is boy scared and is running from a lot of things. which is a crazy parallel to kyle who is running directly towards the danger and desperately grabbing onto anything/anyone he can

headcanon: paul and emma (or at least emma) are both nonbinary. my reasoning? the clivesdale news report at the end of tgwdlm says that "every man, woman, and child [was] gone in the blink of an eye". the only explanation for why they survived? they're not men, women, or children.

Some Sexuality/ Gender Headcannons- TGWDLM Edition

Okay, we’re going to go through some of the characters in TGWDLM and I’m going to tell you what I headcannon their sexuality being! Some my have a valid explanation, others are going to be ‘because I said so’, fair warning. 

Paul Matthews: Okokokok hear me out... since Nick has basically already said ‘sure’ to Paul being enby... I present Demiboy. Because I totally see enby Paul, but I don’t really get the sense that he’d embrace a fully non-binary identity. He’d still gravitate towards the masculine part of his gender identity. I also see Paul being bi but leaning more towards female attraction. 

Emma Perkins: Emma is cis, but you also CANNOT tell me that woman isn’t bi. She radiates all the cool badass bi energy. Sorry I don’t make the rules that’s just how it works sometimes-

Bill Woodward: Okay, Bill is cishet (maybe the only cishet at CCRP) but the BIGGEST supporter- especially of Alice. His baby girl will be whatever she wants to be, so help him. 

Charlotte: Okay, I see Charlotte being cis and polysexual. I feel like that woman will just... accept any love she gets. Also I’ve seen people shipping her and Doug and I kinda love that and feel she would choose a label that incorporates her enby partner. 

Ted Spankoffski: Ted’s also cis and bi, but I feel like he has a lot of internalized homophobia towards himself? Like, he’s not a terrible asshole towards gay people unless they’re himself, or potentially someone he’s developped feelings for. 

Alice Woodward: Have I mentioned I really think Starkid missed it’s opportunity for representation with Alice? Like, I love Mariah but I really think they missed the opportunity to cast a black actress in that role. Anyways I think Alice is not only lesbian but also trans. I don’t exactly know why I get that vibe, but I do? I also feel like that might be why she’s a bit insecure around anyone other than her dad and Deb. 

Deb: I don’t think Deb chooses to use a label for her gender or sexuality, choosing to simply identify as queer. She respects Alice’s labels, but it’s not for her. 

Professor Henry Hidgens: Okay, I think Hidgens might experiement with gender a lot but he still identifies as cis. I headcannon Hidgens doing more than his fair share of drag. As for his sexuality, I think Hidgens uses the Pansexual label. I genuinely just think he’s too flamboyant to use bi or polysexual. Idk why, that’s just the vibes. 

Greenpeace Girl: Simply because she’s played by Mariah, pansexual. Also a demigirl. Don’t ask why I have no clue. 

Hot Chocolate Boy: Okay, I know we don’t have a ton on him, but for reasons I probably can’t share (because I happen to have been a fan long enough to have friends who learned some things about him on one fateful performance of Black Friday from Matt Lang before Nick could stop him, and of course they passed those things along to me) I think he might be demisexual! That’s all I’m saying Nick please don’t hunt me down-

Doug: Doug is enby. This is cannon, just a reminder. 

I think a lot of the other background characters are cishet/ we don’t have enough on them to get a clear sexuality. But yeah, these are just some headcannons I wanted to share! Probably going to post some for Black Friday tomorrow. Happy Pride y’all!

Hi, new here and not yet a follower but saw your posts pop up on my dash due to some of the tags I follow and wanted to say hi! I appreciate your attention to detail in answering faith-based asks. To a previous anon I’d like to add that the end times being near is not something to feel hopeless about as a Christian. On the contrary, it should fill us with hope! The rapture and coming of Jesus is all a part of God’s plan and should put as at peace. I’d also like to ask yourself how and why you came to identify as aroace and your pronouns as “they/them” while at the same time being a Christian and following the instruction of the Bible. Are you nonbinary as well or do you simply prefer those pronouns? I have nothing in particular against either of those things but I’ve never met a devout Christian who chose to refuse things like sex, romance, and gender which seem to be clearly laid out as human nature in the Bible. I hope this doesn’t come across as judgemental—I am genuinely curious and willing to learn! Perhaps we interpret things differently, or perhaps there is something I haven’t thought about. (P.S. I am also non-denominational, I prefer to interpret the Bible itself rather than following any one denomination’s teachings.)

what's up! 😂 both of these topics have the potential to be really long winded, but i'll try to keep it short.

my asexuality/ aromance: i was born this way. i thought about marriage and having kids because people always talked about it, but i never personally connected with it. and that became clearer to me as i got older. while i do desire companionship, it's not of a sexual or romantic nature and i don't want a family or children.

the main places the Bible uses the phrase "Be fruitful and multiple" are in the Old Testament, as part of God's plan to grow His Chosen people and bring a Savior through them. in the New Testament however, instead of growing a physical people, it's our job to help grow a spiritual people. Jesus said, "Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others, and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone accept this who can" (Matthew 19:12). the apostle Paul said, "But I wish everyone were single, just as I am. But God gives to some the gift of marriage, and to others the gift of singleness" (1 Corinthians 7:7). he says it's not a sin to marry, but it's much easier to serve the Lord when you're able to focus solely on Him instead of also having to worry about your spouse.

i'm not against marriage by any means, but i do feel that the Christian community has blown it way out of proportion in the past and ignored the legitimate calling for some people to be purposefully single. whether they choose to be or are born that way, Jesus points to it as a real acceptable thing. (and i mean, nuns and monks have been around for centuries so...) (also for those confused, this doesn't extend into our eternal heavenly lives, where we will receive the desires of our hearts).

my gender: yes, i identify as Agender (NB). that's a big ol' painful mess i'd rather not get into, but i can say it's not from a place of rebellion or stubbornness. i am on a path with the Lord.. i know that some people in my faith community would like to expect me to be at the end of that path, but that's not how life works. Jesus calls everyone to come as they are so they can be saved, and then their journey truly begins. so i feel comfort in the fact that my Father is with me and we are taking good steps together. and if others can be encouraged that God loves them wherever they're at and wants to walk with them too, that's also part of His purposes i think :') my soul and spirit are His, and in Heaven there will be no more misalignment of any kind. i will truly be me. 💞
